the episode went as follows: it is from a later season where Sheldon is engaged to a woman named Amy. she is clearly supposed to be seen as the frumpy geek girl who's matching Sheldon's nerd energy but in fact just looks like a normal woman who doesn't have TV face but I digress. the episode is about their bachelor/ette parties. for Amy's she's saying to the other girls "now I don't want anything CRAZY" so they throw her a quiet quilting bee with tea and sobriety and eventually she's like... AUGH! I WANTED TO GET DRAGGED TO THE CLUB!! and they say "but you love quilting and you hate clubs!" and she's like yeah but I wanted to TRY IT!! and they say OKAY and go to a club and she wakes up hungover looking like hell no memories and they say yeah you river danced on the bar and ground on firefighter themed strippers and she says Oh my god. (It is later revealed that in fact she took 2 shots and passed out at 9pm but she doesn't know this)

Sheldon's "bachelor party" is a roadtrip to visit a temporality scientist of some sort who he idolized. the boys come along because this scientist is kind of a crackpot who lives alone in a cabin in the mountains. Sheldon and the guy are getting along really well but he at one point mentions he has a wife but she lives in Munich and the extent of their relationship is most years they send each other a birthday card and an update on their research and when he leaves the room at one point Sheldon is kind of quietly like... I want to go home.

last scene is Sheldon and Amy lying in bed together and he says "would you still love me if it turns out I'm not the single-minded, science-obsessed recluse who puts his work above everything and everybody else that you fell in love with" and she says "would you still love me if I were a river dancing wild woman" and I have been thinking about this. ever since. Would you still love me if my love for you changed me. I am better because of you and that change makes me uncertain can I still be certain of you. If we change together will you still love me then. The cold open of this episode is one of the boys saying "if Bruce Banner rents a car would the Hulk be covered by his car insurance" and another boy says "you really need a girlfriend" and this is presented as funny

My gym keeps putting on The Big Bang Theory on the TVs for inscrutable reasons (can't imagine why anyone would want to watch The Big Bang Theory while they lift) (all the stairs machines are pointed at the same three TVs so I can't really get away but also they have it on multiple other TVs too) (I asked them to change it from SVU when I first started there because good god I don't want to watch a prolonged and painful csa story while I lift either and they put it on Nat Geo briefly and then changed it to The Big Bang Theory and if I ask them to change it they do but by the next time I'm there it's back on The Big Bang Theory) which means I did recently watch a full episode of The Big Bang Theory that was so shockingly good I'm still thinking about it

Female Duckverse Characters - Six (Eight) Fanarts - Ducktales - Duckverse characters - Duckvember - Prestigious, Placid, Mechanical, Psychedelic, Otherwordly, Tenacious and Obscure Ducks (plus parrot and human goddess) - My style

I haven’t drawn a table with Duckverse/Donald Duck universe/Ducktales characters in a long time, and I’ve been in debt to female characters, so I drew a separate table with my favorite female characters from Duckverse and drew it the way I like it. Since I don’t have the means to scan it, I did a table of six or eight characters in my own way. If you want to see previous drawings with these Ducktales/Duckverse tables, check out my drawings from last year:

And I also did something related to the Duckvember themes (Prestigious, Placid, Mechanical, Psychedelic, Otherwordly, Tenacious and Obscure Ducks), which I think these characters fit into. I drew Daisy Duck (from Ducktales 2017 in her awesome dress), Della Duck (also from Ducktales 2017 as a pilot, plus she has ponytail hair because I prefer her that way, otherwise I prefer the comic version of her, although of course the DT17 version is not bad either, otherwise Donald's sister and mother of Huey, Dewey and Louie), Morgana Macawber (from OG Darkwing Duck, a witch from Transylvania and Darkwing Duck's girlfriend), Dickie Duck (Paperetta Yè-Yè, a teenage duck from Italian comics (Topolino) created by Romano Scarpa, although she also appears in Brazilian comics), Rosinha Maria Vaz (Rosita, Rosinha or Maria certainly refers to the Brazilian parrot lady and José Carioca's girlfriend), Xandra (the goddess of adventure from The Legend of The Three Caballeros series, one of my favorite human characters in the Duckverse, and I haven't drew her in a long time), Kay K (Arianne Konnery or Arianna Adelaide who works for The Agency and is a partner of Double Duck (Donald Duck), and was once his girlfriend from the Double Duck comics) and Lyla Lay (a reporter for Channel 00, an agent for the Time Police and comes from the 23rd century to fight The Organization and is often a partner of Duck Avenger (Paperinik-Donald Duck), of course she is a female duck android created by Leonard Vertighel from the PKNA (Paperinix New Adventures) comics) in my own style.

Unfortunately, I made some mistakes while drawing (especially Rosinha's left hand) where my drawing almost fell apart, but I managed to put it together. so eva's name (and her murdering in chapter 1) is without a doubt a reference to the biblical figure eve.

and damon, which has its own resonance with the name adam, also has symbolism connecting him to the latter: the apple that falls into his hand in the op (probably reaching here but his hair/ahoge also loosely resembles the shape of an apple, at least to me), the snake on his tie.....

but i wonder if damon's name (and character) could also be a reference to the greek mythological figure damon from the story "damon and pythias"

interestingly, this greek legend exemplifies the ideal bond of friendship with sacrifice as a central theme. to quickly summarise it;

pythias is sentenced to death by the tyrannical dionysius i of syracuse for allegedly plotting against him. before getting executed, pythias requested settling some of his affairs first, which dionysius only agreed to because damon, pythias's friend, offered himself as a hostage during his absence. it was decided that if pythias didn't return in time for his execution, damon would be killed in his stead. the story has a good end as pythias does indeed return in time, and pleased by their formidable friendship, dionysius forgave and freed the two men.

now, to come back to p:eg - what i find super interesting with this is that it could foreshadow a crucial aspect of damon's character development. as we know, damon is an arrogant and direct person, but he still has a very real softness deep down within him. in fact, it's clearly shown to us that there isn't a need to dig much for it to shine through. his bond with the other characters is still rather surface level and not on good terms, but at some point, i do see him making allies/friends.

so knowing that about damon thus far, i can also see him eventually sacrificing himself in one way or another (not necessarily by dying) for one (or multiple) of his friends, like the greek mythology damon did.

personally, i think the friend he'd do that for is kai, but i'm biased lol. pythias doesn't resemble any of the other characters' names after all, so that's just me theorising away. therefore kai it is! (also i can't forget about that detail in the op...it has to be some kind of foreshadowing) however, it doesn't mean that act of sacrifice will end as miraculously well as the mythological story. there's just no way it can unfortunately - this is a danganronpa fangame at the end of the day :,)

something else regarding the damon and pythias story i also want to talk about, is the closeness between diana's and dionysius's names. not the closest match, but still interesting to note i think. it's fairly certain that diana will play an important role in the future, one that could potentially be antagonistic too.

perhaps similarly to dionysius, diana will give damon an ultimatum of sorts in which she has the upper hand. it'll be the reason for damon choosing to sacrifice himself and, depending on how things go, diana will either spare or kill him (or someone close to him). i say kill, but it doesn't necessarily have to be to that extent - betrayal is the key theme here.

let's also not forget that diana is the name of the roman goddess of the hunt (and lots of other things like childbirth, crossroads, the night, the moon..) equivalent to the goddess artemis of greek mythology. considering diana's last name venicia is of italian origin further enhances that relation too. plus, hunting being the goddess' original main association could imply that diana will 'hunt' someone eventually.

or, it could refer to how she could just be used for someone else's 'hunt' (which eva did) since the goddess diana is often viewed as a lucky symbol for hunters.

and, just to throw it out there - with desmond being the ultimate marksman and all (not to mention he has arrows on his back just like diana/artemis is almost always depicted with) if he becomes a blackened, it's possible diana will also play a key role in that murder case, whether passively or actively. i can see some kind of alliance (good or bad) forming between those two at some point - but hey, what do i know!

all in all, there're definitely hints to links and parallels between biblical/mythological figures and some characters of the p:eg's cast. i'm probably very, very off, especially since it's highly likely the devs will strive away from taking too much direct inspiration from biblical/mythological/animal motif stuff otherwise things could get too predictable. still, i think it's okay to point these things out and just have fun discussing it!

Hi so got any ninjago x reader recs? Ever since reading Wisps, it has affected my brain chemistry and now i crave for more ninjago x reader content but im picky when finding fics, so got any recommendations?

Hello there! I had fun sorting out my bookmarks and history so recommending fics might be a thing in the future?

Just to note, I am not sure how to really curate your taste so most of these are what I essentially enjoyed reading and been a fan of so forgive me if some (or all 😭 no hard feelings though) aren't your thing.

Let's see...

Honestly Wisps is the *best* so far in my opinion! I don't know if this is pure coincidental but I am also hunting for some ninjago fics to feel emotions again lmao! And I tried my best in remembering what I've read or interested in so hope these are all ok for you!

+ Second best in my opinion is the 'Infinity Series' by Joos according to their quotev because at ao3 it's orphaned [ao3; quotev book 1 & book 2 ]

Unfortunately, the author has stopped updating this fic but going back at it was really enjoyable like in the Wisps. The summary according to the first installment 'Infinite Serenity';

"[Name] has died and became reincarnated in a childhood TV show of hers. She is raised as the adopted daughter of Sensei Wu, training as the Master of Infinity. Once the plot of the show really gets going, a being resurfaces from her. They claim to have revived her and can help her unlock the memories from her previous life. Now, [Name] must rely on this being to help protect Ninjago, and discovers how her past connects with her present." TW: Suicide, self harm, child abuse, some gore and swearing (please pay attention to the tags)

Please please heed the trigger warning, I don't remember much from the content but I definitely recall the author tackling those tags in a respectful way. The love interests are Kai, Nya, Jay, Cole, Morro and platonic with Master Wu and her cousin Lloyd Garmadon. Again, second best recommended fic in my opinion.

+ Next one, this is not one series but user Circus4APsycho8 (they have ao3 and tumblr) in my opinion have the best x reader one-shots from the fandom! My all-time favorite work of theirs is 'Secret Someone' [Highschool AU! Lloyd Garmadon x reader]- this one is really sweet ❣️

+ The next one is purely Lloyd Garmadon x Female Reader titled 'Butterfly Effect' by samsea at ao3. I think they're still updating and I am a big fan of hero x civilian pairings and just they're cute and in love.

Summary: "If it was up to Y/n L/n, she would read the summer away, lost in history books and adventure novels, finding excitement in their written words. Meeting Lloyd Garmadon changed her plans. Suddenly, Y/n is living a life she'd only read about; summer romances and cotton candy dates. Perhaps this was a new normal she could get used to. Again, heed the warnings but the writing and atmosphere overall is really sweet and for some reason all cuddly and sunny. IDK but maybe I am always soft for Lloyd lmao.

Actually, while finishing my school projects I'm also checking out from another user snazzilystoopid's ninjago recommendation. So far, I am enjoying their second recommended which is 'Element of Wishes' by yourfavoritecloud at quotev BUT this one is an Character x OC one so if it's not up to your alley they have few recommendations. Honestly, I am up to anything as long as it entertained my monkey brain.

Sorry for the long post! Hope these works are okay for your taste but the closest fic that gives off the same vibes as Wisps is the Infinite series. And these are all by my own opinions and the fics I remembered catching my eye. I am very much open to other recommendations or shout-outs.

Side note, there's not much Ninjago fics out there that I might let my monkey brain loose and create one myself LOOOL.

season 1 review season 2 review

I finished Season 3 of my Ninjago Rewatch,  here’s my review. holy yapper

I think it’s going to be a recurring theme that I like each season a bit more than the last one; but Season 3 especially more because it seemed to be surer of itself, as well as condensing it’s plot into 8 episodes.  I found the pacing much better and I don’t think any episode had any drag. 

This season was VERY engaging, even during the slower moments I was very invested while watching.  I’m not a big fan of technology / hacker type plots, but I was very involved in watching.   In the later episodes, I was stressed while watching.  The stakes were very high only shifted to be more dangerous as the plot progressed.

It followed a consistent theme of “we failed this time, next time we won’t” and while I want to say it got annoying after awhile, personally I found it realistic.  In the previous seasons, the threats they were faced with were passed enemies coming back, or fates historically warned about.  This season, it was ENTIRELY new.  They had no ancient scrolls or old foretellings to warn and give hints, and with the new technology advancements, the Ninja were literally going in blind.  The most they had was the Serpentines legend about the Golden Master, and even then; it was also just a story with the perspective of the Ninja being the enemies.  The entire Season, the Ninja were always at a disadvantage, which made every attempt of desperation feel like one.

I also noticed that there was a consistent lesson of using the enemies strengths against them.  Starting from Garmadons “art of the silent fist” lesson to using armor that was used against the FSM to defeat the Overlord, I found that to be a very intriguing.  I found it to be a commentary of the balance as well; good things can be used for evil, and things used for evil can be turned back to good things.  Even when the Ninja were trapped at in a position where they thought was one of no return, they still managed to use their resources to prevail.

As for the characters, I like how they were all written here.  I enjoyed Lloyd and Garmadons dynamic and them finally having a father-son relationship.  Kai and PIXAL had a very funny dynamic in ‘Codename; Arcturus’ and I hope we see more of that.  I thought Kai was a little out of character in that episode though, he was super confident and cocky while the previous ones he struggled more with insecurities, but I think he was also riding the high with the belief they defeated the Overlord; just to later find out they didn’t.  While I still think Garmadons redemption should’ve gone a little differently, his oath to never fight again did hold real weight and his lesson to fight without fighting was what taught the Ninja how to keep going.  Garmadon dropping this oath to fight Pythor after they took Lloyd was kickass too. 

Garmadon and Wu had a very interesting dynamic this season.  Even when Wu was taken over by the Overlord, they always stayed close.  While they were allies again and seemed to rekindle the brotherhood they had before, there was still times where they clashed.  Garmadon seemed to be more of a “realist” and I think Wu is more “spiritual” compared to him, believing in faith and that, so long as the Ninja continue to head in the right direction, things will work out okay, while Garmadon is more in the moment, and seems to stick more to what the plan was, and worries when things get off track.  

However, I think both of their sides are good and provides each other a different perspective.  Wu knows the Ninja MUCH better than Garmadon does, both as a team and personally, Wu has much more trust and faith in them compared to Garmadon.  Garmadon also seems to be a bit of a pessimist; he didn’t agree with Lloyd giving up his Golden Power to share with the Ninja, told Wu the Ninja won’t back from space, and overall expects the worse out of a situation.  But, he also admits he needs to learn trust.  I would’ve liked to see Wu agree with Garmadon for something in his perspective as well, maybe seeing him take the Ninja out of a situation he knows could be dangerous, but I don’t think it’s something that took away from the season or makes me think of the character more negatively.  

My only complaint I had was the infamous love triangle between Nya, Jay and Cole.  But, I don’t think it was anywhere near as bad as I remembered it.  It was actually kind of funny, and truthfully; Cole didn’t really have much to bring to the table other than reacting to things Jay was saying.  It was implied Jay and Nya were having couple problems in the first episode, so I imagine when Nya was told that Cole was compatible with her instead, she just had self doubt and wasn’t sure if she could commit to Jay, considering the tension they already had together.  I don’t think Cole shared any big feelings either, the only time where Cole seemed to return anything was when he and Nya were talking about their students, but that wasn’t enough to only be taken romantically, at least in my opinion.  Cole might’ve just had sudden feelings after this was made aware to him, and might’ve continued to play along out of curiosity for what Nya would do, and probably just to keep messing with Jay, since Jay cared about it MUCH more than Cole did.  In the finale Nya did hug Cole, I remember that being something discussed about before and something I noticed, but I don’t think it had anything to do with the love triangle directly; their friend just died, and Nya hugged the closest person there was.  I don’t really think it was necessary to the Season, it only seemed to give Nya some develop or flaw in her character, but since there was no time to expand on it, it didn’t really add anything positive.  But again, I didn’t find to be as bad as I was remembering, so it didn’t really put a damper on the experience.

My only other complaint; I wish the side-villains had more screen time.  Cryptor didn’t really get anything until the last few seasons, and I found him to be very interesting when he was on screen, like when he told Pythor he didn’t want his army to be taken advantage of, it would’ve been cool to see his character have more use than just another pawn of the Overlord.

The finale was rough, but soo good.  I probably shouldn’t have watched it so close to my grandmas deathday, but if a Lego show can resurface such feelings then I say it was written WELL.  The ONLY thing I wish was different, was explaining a bit more on.. How Zane even sacrificed.  Part of it was self explanatory, but going in at first got confusing.  If I’m not wrong, Zane touched the Golden Power, and doing so was beginning to damage him, but also fuel his elemental powers to it’s strongest; which is what made it so strong to destroy the Overlord, and what ultimately ended up killing him.  The voice actors had rent due because the Ninja’s reactions watching it and being dragged away was gut punching.  Kai being the one to speak on the Ninja’s behalf during the ceremony and reveal of the Titanium Statue took me aback, I didn’t think Kai would be the public speaking type out of the Ninja; but it fit, and was memorable.  The finale ends with PIXAL being “contacted” by Zane, or something?  Not complaining, but the cliffhanger might’ve been too soon, and didn’t really make a whole lot of sense.  That might also have been the point, though.

Overall, the season was great.  Every review seems to get longer; the show is definitely expanding and only getting better from here. It was a fun watch.  Solid 8.5/10

Common Legend Deviations!

I had a 24 hour shift at work and I was, naturally, thinking about the Arthurians, mainly common legend themes/tropes that are not applicable to my versions of the Arthurians! So, here those are!

Arthur - Like, I feel like my bit for this is pretty obvious, as it is pretty much a defining point of how I write the general setting of Camelot. Arthur is hella bi and in a polyamorous relationship with both Guinevere and Lancelot. The relationship with Lancelot started BEFORE he married Guinevere.

Galahad - Galahad was raised by nuns in a convent with little to no relationship with his mother.

Gawain - Gawain is the eldest of his brothers (Agravain, Gareth, Gaheris, and Mordred) and is fiercely loyal to his family and his kingdom. He pleaded with his father when Lot fought against Arthur.

Guinevere - See Arthur. Guinevere was the one that was brought into the "affair" Arthur was having with Lancelot.

Gwenhwyfach - Gwenhwyfach is three years younger than Guinevere, and she was convinced by the conspirators that Guinevere DID NOT want to marry Arthur, which is why she went along with the False Guinevere Plot. She wanted to save her sister, not harm her.

Isolde - I HATE the love potion and I will only use it with HEAVY plotting. This is because I hate robbing their affair of agency. It just isn't as compelling to me as them genuinely falling in love to such a degree that they feel they have to be together even when it is a betrayal of Isolde's husband/Tristan's uncle.

Kay - Kay NEVER tried to claim that he was the one that pulled Excalibur. Did he try? Yes, they'd gone to London to have Kay try to pull the sword, as Arthur was still deemed too young. But when Arthur did pull the sword, Kay immediately supported him, and would have been the first to swear fealty to Arthur as king if Gawain hadn't pushed him out of the way to do it first (which Kay never forgives him for)

Lancelot - Same as Guinevere and Arthur. Lancelot and Arthur started their affair during the war at the beginning of Arthur's reign, before he married Guinevere.

Merlin - Merlin is nearly immortal, so he never really gets to the bearded old man stage unless he decides to appear that way.

Mordred - Mordred didn't go to war with Arthur because he hated Arthur or Camelot. A lot of it had to do with the lackluster response to Galahad's death (or failure to return from the grail quest at least). His grief fueled his belief that Camelot had become corrupt.

Morgan - Morgan was not Mordred's mother. She also didn't outright hate Arthur. She went through phases of working with Arthur and working against him. Morgan is the youngest of the sisters (Morgause the oldest, Elaine the middle sister) and is closest in age to Arthur.

Ragnelle - She didn't die five years after her marriage to Gawain, she outlived him as queen of Lothian and Orkney. She was also a Saxon commoner.

Viviane - Alright so this one is one of the more flexible ones, but Viviane is the overall ruler of Avalon. She does not pass on that title or relinquish her guardianship over the holy isle. She and Merlin were lovers, but that didn't stop her from stealing his magic and sealing him within a tree.

Usagi's Stupid Ninjago Headcanons Part 6: Lloyd

Lloyd

He was 12 when the series started. Tomorrow's Tea aged him to about 16 and he aged normally from there. By the end of Crystalized, he was 23. 29 in Dragon's Rising.

He's 5ft, 7in. Jay was not happy about being the shortest ninja after he turned older.

Demisexual AF.

Half Japanese, half European from Garmadon and Misako respectively.

He and Cole do most of the cleaning around the Monastery. He turned into a bit of a neat freak after Tomorrow's Tea.

Learned how to play the pipe organ when he was at Darkleys since one of the classes he took was "Evil Theme Songs 101." Said it was the most "evil" instrument he could think of.

Loves horror. 90% of his room is taken up by horror manga and gothic literature.

He'll watch horror movies as much as he wants and won't flinch at any of the deaths but he'll get dizzy at the sight of real blood.

Makes little dolls and plushies as a hobby. After he bonded with the ninja, he made dolls of each of them to apologize for being so bratty as a kid.

Tries out many different hobbies as he grows older. If he winds up living as long as his father and uncle, he might as well find something to pass the centuries with.

He and Kai study Ninjago's history together. He usually sticks to learning about urban legends and folklore since he loves monsters and occult stuff. (Little Lloyd also tried to ritualistically sacrifice Kai)

Fangirls started to joke about him being "the emo one" after he grew his hair out. He embraced it and spent a week dressing in emo outfits Jay helped him find.

He loves cute things. If Ninjago has its own version of Sanrio, he's definitely a fan.

Zane has turned him into a bit of a dessert snob after showing him the kinds of fancy sweets and pastries he can make.

Him and Nya watch a ton of extreme sports and daredevil stunts together.

Wu and Misako homeschooled him to make sure he'd still get a decent education since Darkley's definitely didn't give him one.

It took him a long time to trust Misako again after she came back into his life. He's not sure if he'll ever trust Garmadon again after the Oni Trilogy. Thinks Vinny is cool though.

Subconsciously feels that Harumi was right and everything that's happened in Ninjago since he released the Serpentine was his fault. He's thought about finding a way to go back in time and stop himself.

Not really sure what he would do or who he would be if he wasn't the green ninja.

He does! However, they've all gone separate ways. The one he does remember is his cousin Missy. (referencing that one concept art about Star turning into a T-Rex and wanting to find dinosaurs) She wanted to go to Earth to and meet the dinosaurs, but he's not sure if she made it since he hasn't seen her in years. (referring to the above picture)

That's a great idea! It sounds a lot stronger, and it cleverly references "Our Message to the People" where they want to be worshipped as such. Thanks so much for the idea!

No monsters from the book, but there are a couple references to Chernabog, Bill Cipher and The Horned King. They mostly use the book to create the ultimate spell in which they use their wedding rings to absorb the dark magic. Together they're going to use it to overpower Star. Magnifico gets more greedy later though and combining the dark magic with people's wishes turns him into a monster.

Yes, they all have families! Though they vary in size. For example, Gabo has only a mother but no siblings, Dahlia has parents grandparents and cousins, and Dario has lots of siblings.

They don't appear in the regular story, but I do give then some bonus scenes later. Star's mother is voiced by Anne Hathaway and Star's father is voiced by Chris Pine. (If you get this reference, you're a legend) His siblings, I'm not sure yet.

Are there more stories about what demons Erlang has faced? Or more stories about him or where his character is included? I'm aware of Journey to the West, fsyy, the story with his mother and Lotus Lantern, but I was wondering if there were other stories where his character appears.

There are a lot of stories with him but they are more like legends than like narrative tales so to speak. Xiyouji, FSYY, and Lotus Lantern are novels and plays that allow full narratives that Erlang Shen features in but none really show the full extent of his character as he is more of a feature character than ever the protagonist.

Erlang's control of water is Erlang Shen's first and greatest achievement was water control and water control and made him a famous water god. With Erlang God's water control as the core, it radiates into legends such as killing dragons and slaying dragons.

Carrying mountains to catch the sun was from the Kaixi Period of the Song Dynasty, the "Inscription of the Induction of King Zhaohui Lingxian" describes the Erlang Shen as "the majesty of disturbing the mountain to take advantage of the sun, and the bravery of crossing the sea to capture the dragon.

The legend of Erlang Shen leading his divine soldiers and generals to search the mountains and succumb to demons can be found in the volume "Searching the Mountains", also known as the "Erlang Shen Searching the Mountains".

In the Five Dynasties, there is a legend about Erlang capturing an evil dragon. "Shu Shu": "The New Year's Banquet in June, "Guankou Divine Team" by Jiaofang Haiyu. The image of the two dragons fighting, the sky and the earth were dark for a moment, and there was heavy rain and hail. The Qing Dynasty's "Sichuan General Chronicle" locks the dragon: " It is said that Erlang locked the evil dragon in it. When frost falls and water falls, you may sometimes see it locked in the clouds."

In the Song Dynasty, there were a lot of themes of Erlang killing dragons. The Erlang who spent money usually rode an eagle and followed the dog. The entourage held a bow and stood a three-pointed two-edged sword beside him to subdue the dragon or the dragon transformed into a human body.

In the early days, Erlang Shen's divinity mainly came from Li Bing, who controlled floods. Guankou Erlang Shen controlled wind and rain, and Li Erlang's main deeds were also to capture dragons and control floods.

The "Stele Record of the Divine Blessing King" written by Zhou Hu of the Southern Song Dynasty (1170-1231) records that in 1206 AD, that is, the second year of Kaixi, Erlang Shen helped him fight against the Jin Dynasty and achieved a major turning point. Therefore, Emperor Ningzong of the Song Dynasty named Erlang Shen "Saint Martyr Zhaohui to protect the country".

As the belief in Erlang Shen spread widely, the priesthood of Erlang Shen also expanded as he was seen as a protector of the country's spirit. The "Nangong County Chronicle" of the Republic of China quoted Lu Zhongfu from Jin Zhangzong as saying: "In the autumn of the fifth year of Zhenglong (1160), the giant locusts covered the sky and ate all the acres. There were reports of hunger everywhere, the price of grain soared, and county people rushed to pray at the temple of Erlang Shen. The locusts dispersed and did not stay in the area. Fortunately, they were harmless at this time."

Erlang Shen is not only a god with vast supernatural powers and remarkable spiritual responses, but he was also regarded as the god of drama in the Ming Dynasty and was worshiped by Liyuan.

The Cuju industry also respects Erlang as the god of the industry and follows his character of playing games in the world.

Erlang God was revered as the "Lord of Sichuan" and became the god who protected the people of Sichuan from living and working in peace and contentment.

Song Zhang Tangying's " Sichuan Prayer " records: "(Qiande) in the second year of August, (Wang) Yan patrolled the north, and Prime Minister Wang Kai judged the guards of the six armies. The banners and flags were inexhaustible for hundreds of miles. Yan's military uniforms, Wearing golden armor, a beaded hat, and brocade sleeves, he holds a bow and carries an arrow. The people look at him and say he is like a 'guan-kou god'." Erlang Shen is equipped with a hound, an eagle, and a slingshot. It is a standard image of the hunting god, capable of restraining birds, beasts, mountain spirits, and wild monsters.

Because Erlang Shen carried a slingshot, he was attached to the function of delivering children by later generations. Because the slingshot is homophonic with "birth", it means birth. Almost every Erlang temple has people seeking children, which is the basic priesthood of Erlang Shen.

Tianqi was built in southern Fujian during the Chongzhen period of the Fengshan Ancestral Temple in the Ming Dynasty, the belief in Erlang Shen has formed a water god worship with strong local characteristics of southern Fujian in southern Fujian. There are now three statues in the Fengshan Ancestral Temple, which are called "Ambassador", "Second Ambassador" and "Third Ambassador", and "Ambassador" is the Erlang Shen in people's minds

I'm taking this all from his page so if you want a more detailed explanation I would suggest looking it into yourself because there is SO MUCH information about Erlang Shen being such a well-known figure and hero of legend that no way I can fit it all in one post but I hope this gives people an idea just how grand Erlang Shen's legend is and just how rich in both history and lore he is!
