The Key to Local Domination: Optimizing Legal Citations for Law Practices
In the competitive landscape of the legal industry, establishing a strong local presence is paramount for law practices aiming to attract clients in their vicinity. With the rise of online searches for legal services, optimizing legal citations has emerged as a crucial strategy for achieving local domination. This comprehensive guide explores the importance of legal citations in local SEO, strategies for optimizing citations effectively, and the impact on law practices' visibility and success.
Tumblr media
Understanding the Significance of Legal Citations
Legal citations serve as digital references to law firms across various online platforms, including directories, review sites, and local listings. These citations typically include key information such as the firm's name, address, phone number (NAP), website URL, and sometimes additional details like practice areas, hours of operation, and client reviews. Search engines rely on this consistent and accurate data to determine a law firm's credibility and relevance in local search results.
The Role of Legal Citations in Local SEO
In the realm of local SEO, citations play a fundamental role in determining a law practice's visibility and ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs). Search engines like Google use citations as one of the primary ranking factors for local businesses. The more consistent and authoritative citations a law firm has across the web, the higher its chances of appearing prominently in local search results when potential clients are seeking legal services in their area.
Strategies for Optimizing Legal Citations
Optimizing legal citations requires a strategic approach aimed at ensuring consistency, accuracy, and relevance across all online platforms. Here are some key strategies law practices can employ to optimize their citations effectively:
Claim and Verify Listings on Major Directories
Begin by claiming and verifying your law firm's listings on major online directories such as Google My Business, Yelp, Avvo, FindLaw, and Lawyers.com. These directories are authoritative sources of information for search engines and can significantly impact your local search visibility.
Ensure Consistency Across All Citations
Consistency is crucial when it comes to legal citations. Ensure that your firm's name, address, and phone number (NAP) are consistent across all online platforms. Even minor discrepancies in information can confuse search engines and harm your local SEO efforts.
Optimize Citations with Relevant Keywords
Incorporate relevant keywords into your citations to improve their relevance and visibility in local search results. Include keywords related to your practice areas, location, and specialty services to attract potential clients searching for legal assistance in your area.
Encourage and Manage Client Reviews
Positive client reviews not only enhance your law firm's reputation but also contribute to your local SEO efforts. Encourage satisfied clients to leave reviews on your Google My Business listing and other relevant review sites. Monitor and respond to reviews promptly to demonstrate your firm's commitment to client satisfaction.
Leverage Local Citations on Legal Directories
Explore niche legal directories and citation sources specific to the legal industry. Listings on these platforms can further enhance your firm's visibility among potential clients seeking legal services in your area.
The Impact on Law Practices' Visibility and Success
Optimizing legal citations can have a profound impact on law practices' visibility and success in the local market. By ensuring consistent and accurate citations across online platforms, law firms can improve their local search rankings, attract more potential clients, and ultimately increase their client base and revenue.
Final Thoughts
In the end, optimizing legal citations is the key to local domination of law practices. By following strategic optimization strategies and ensuring consistency and accuracy across all online platforms, law firms can enhance their visibility, attract more clients, and establish themselves as reputable authorities in their local communities. In an increasingly competitive digital landscape, leveraging legal citations effectively is essential for law practices looking to thrive and dominate their local market.

Les Mis Hidden Name Meanings: “Fantine” (posting here because it got popular on TikTok)
Every character in Les Mis has a name with a deeper symbolic meaning— here’s a video I made for the official @barricadescon TikTok about the meaning behind “Fantine!”
Transcript and Digressions I left out of the video, under the cut:
Every charcater’s name in Les Mis is either a pun, a reference to a historical/mythological figure, or had some deep symbolic meaning — and sometimes it’s all of them at on.
The name “Fantine” comes from the french word “enfantine” or “childike, infant-like.” Her name basically means “Baby.” And obviously this speaks to her innocence and niavetee. But also “baby” is kind of,.,, well it sounds more like an informal term of endearment than an actual legal name?
And that’s because– Plot twist– Fantine isn’t her legal name! What is her legal name? She doesn’t have one.
And the reason she doesn’t have one is directly tied to political turmoil of the era she was born into.
Fantine grew up an orphan living on the streets, without a family without parents. Hugo tells us the origin of her name:
“she bore on her brow the sign of the anonymous and the unknown. (...)She was called Fantine. Why Fantine? She had never borne any other name. At the epoch of her birth the Directory still existed. She had no family name; she had no family; no baptismal name; the Church no longer existed. She bore the name which pleased the first random passer-by, who had encountered her, when a very small child, running bare-legged in the street. She received the name as she received the water from the clouds upon her brow when it rained.”
This moment is adapted beautifully in the Manga adaptation by Takahiro Arai, which I recommend to anyone who loves Les mis, manga, or any combination of those things.
But now let’s talk about the Directory.
To wildly oversimplifly a lot of complex history: Before the French Revolution, the Catholic Church’s records of baptismal ceremonies were often used as a registry of people’s legal names. During the French Revolution, the Revolutionary government– including the Directory– put in place a series of policies we now call “dechristianization,” where they attempted to dismantle the power of Catholic church.
Fantine was born during the age of these dechristianization policies. So she was never baptised, her baptismal name was never recorded, so she has no recorded legal or family name. She’s slipped through the cracks of the legal system, and ended up completely anonymous.
It sets Fantine up as this anonymous child of the Revolution– a stand in for everyone who was left behind when the Revolution was left behind, and kings were restored to the throne.
Fantine’s namelessness is meant to show atomized . How she has NO support system. She has nothing to connect her to other people, nothing to connect her to a support system.
Finally, the way Fantine tends to “slip through the cracks” is something that follows her throughout her life. When she’s fired from her job at a factory, Maroy Madeleine never learns of it– Fantine has this tendency to overlooked and forgotten. She is born anonymous and she dies anonymous. At the end of the story, she is buried in an unmarked grave, with not even the name “Fantine” on her headstone.
It ties into novel’s questions about which people we consider worth remembering, whose lives are worth being records.
And obviously Fantine is not the only character in Les Mis whose name has a deeper symbolic meaning. If you have any other Les Mis character names you’d like to explain, leave their name in the comments below.
Thank you for watching!
From the description of the original tiktok, here are some things that were left out of the video for time:
How this all relates to Cosette’s name(s)
Fantine’s nickname “The Blonde,” and how this relates to the way she’s dehumanized by Tholomyes
How the 2018 Bbc series fundamentally misunderstands Fantine’s character, and how one sign of this is that they give her a full legal first and last name
How Fantine’s name shows up/is revealed is significant parts of the story (like when Valjean reveals her signature on a letter to Thenardier, allowing him to take Cosette away)
How Fantine’s inability to write ties into the way it’s difficult for her to record her own story
How some of Valjean’s last words are revealing Fantine’s name to Cosette
Thanks again for reading!

''Who Trolled Amber'' podcast
The highlights of each episode from the podcast. You can listen to it on Spotify, Youtube etc. EPISODE 1.
The outcome of the trial definitely damaged #METOO movement;
There were 80k of anti Amber Heard tweets, more than anti JD tweets even though AH was the one who accused him of abuse;
There's no way it was all organic, they either bought bots or those were real people pretending to be JD's supporters;
According to Jennifer Robinson, one of AH lawyers from the UK trial, Amber'd never wanted to relieve what had happened to her during the relationship;
Jennifer thought it'd be easier to win the US than in the UK;
The information about bots were thrown out way before the trial hence Ron Shnell couldn't talk about in the courtroom; EPISODE 2.
According to Ron Shnell there was a bot campaign against AH but he wasn't 100% sure because the judge struck out that research;
Kathryn Arnold shared that AH wasn't allowed to be a part of Aquaman 2 promotion tour and was banned from posting anything Aquaman related;
KA also said that AH couldn't audition, no one would hire her and that the agents were told not to touch her[AH]; EPISODE 3
The podcast creators asked experts(Kai-Cheng Yang) to check the date that was given by Ron Shnell;
According to the data: many accounts with no followers had tweets with more than 5k retweets/likes; hundreds of identical tweets were posted in one day; many accounts liked 400k tweets; 10k of identical comments were left under AH youtube videos; many accounts change their tune(from right wing Chile politics) and out of nowhere started to post pro JD tweets; half oh the data/accounts/tweets were generated by inauthentic accounts and then the real accounts started to engage with those tweets etc. it all started in November 2020 when JD lost the UK case and was fired from Fantastic Beasts; EPISODE 4
Cameron Herrin case was mentioned, more specifically the sudden interest and pro CH posts on TikTok asking to reduce his sentence and that he is innocent. Most of the accounts that were spreading those posts were from Middle East; EPISODE 5
Some Arabic twitter accounts suddenly started to tweet Pro JD tweets in English during and after the US trial;
The friendship betweet Johnny Depp and prince Mohammed was mentioned(him financing JD directorial movie Modi); EPISODE 6
Adam Waldman worked for Lavrov as a consultant for years(2010-2017);
During the deposition Adam Waldman refused to answer more than 70 questions;
Alexi Mostrous tried contacting ''the internet journalists'' aka TUG and ThatBrianFella but they didn't answer; he also pointed out that the audios that were posted by ThatBrianFella were clearly edited(we know);
Mostrous also tried to call Adam Waldman but he didn't pick up the phone and 25 minutes later posted a tweet:
Tumblr media
“He[Adam Waldman] attacked witnesses, he attacked us (legal team)..unlike anything I have ever seen from a lawyer” said Jennifer Robinson. ''Amber Heard wrote an Op-ed for Washington Post which is a very respected publication and Johnny Depp's name isn't in it. It told to survivors if this can be done to a woman whose actually well-known and well-established person in the industry, it's gonna be even worse for you.'' All-in-All, it's clear as day that Waldman was behind the bot campaign against Amber. We've known that but it's good that a popular podcast researched about it and shed a light on it. Plus it's always great to see JD fans being nervous and panicky.

So the question about books not available on Libby raised another question in my mind. If one of us following you on social media has one of those books that’s unavailable on Libby could we scan it and submit it to you as a PDF somehow so others could access it? I don’t have the several hundred dollar book that was mentioned, and I know this could be dipping my toes into copyright law territory, but it could be beneficial to try and crowd source some of our history, Zine style
ah. okay, love the crowdsource-y punk vibes. however we are NOT in a position to play fast and loose with copyright laws. we can’t even take pdf’s directly from the authors! we have formal non-profit status* and for us, it’s really important that we maintain access nationwide to as many folks as possible, for as many books as we can (and we’re still buying more as fast as our budgets allow - we’re not close to being done yet!)
we’ve got lots of plans to keep growing and expanding our catalogue, but what you’re suggesting is not one of the feasible options for us.
in the meantime, some other great options are to keep requesting queer books from your local public libraries, to use InterLibrary Loan if you (or a friend) has access to a university system, and explore some (legal) Open Access or Public Domain projects that are out there (queer zine archive project, directory of open access books, project gutenberg, etc..)

Long Snake Moan 10
Tumblr media
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
Character: Loki
Summary: your boss gives you a task you’re not prepared for.
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging ❤️
Tumblr media
Loki entwines your life like the snake he is. You stare at the steaming cup of tea as you listen to him in the kitchen. You don’t really trust him not to ruin anything else but you’re powerless to stop him. Every move has another pang plucking in your stomach.
God! You can’t believe it. Three days. With him? And you’re married? Right, none of this makes sense. He can’t be your husband. It’s impossible.
You drag yourself up and clutch your stomach. There’s something else, a tingle as your thighs press together. A flash ripples behind your eyes and you hear him groaning, feeling him thrusting, his hot breath enshrines you. You blink and it’s gone. A moan drifts from your lips.
You search your apartment and scowl. All this green... It’s not bad but it’s a bit much. None of you is left here. Aren’t marriages unions not invasions?
No, you’re not married. He never even asked. You get up and suss out your phone on the side table. You pick it up as you keep an ear toward his constant stirring. You tap into the search bar and bring up City Hall. You have to call. Damn it.
You tiptoe toward the bathroom and peek back as you ease the door shut. You tap the phone number and chew your thumb. You’re on hold for a while and after navigating through the directory, you finally get an answer.
“Hi, er, wow,” you respond to the dull tone on the other end. “I don’t really know how to do this. Sorry, erm, I need to look up a marriage license?”
“Do you have the registration number?” The woman asks.
“No, but I can give you my name? My Social Security? Whatever you need.”
“Social Security,” she sniffs into the speaker. She doesn’t seem very impressed.
You recite the memorised number and wait as you hear the clacking of keys. She hums flatly. “Yep, right here...” she reads out your name, “and uh, Lachi—Loki Laufeyson.”
Your heart drops. What? Your last hope that he’s as much a liar as ever evaporates. You stand stunned, starring into the drain.
“Anything else I can do, ma’am?” She doesn’t sound genuinely helpful.
“No,” you croak and hang up. You’ve wasted her time.
You close your eyes and take a deep breath. You lift your head and slowly let yourself look at your reflection. You shriek at Loki as he grins over you.
“Oh god,” you spin to face him in the tight space, “do you have to do that?”
“Well, I was concerned. I find my wife missing--”
“Don’t say it. Stop. No. Wife? I can’t--”
“It is the truth. Legal, as it were. Surely that lovely woman on the phone told you so,” he slithers.
“Ugh, why? Why me?”
“Oh, I know, how lucky you are,” he tickles along your sides and you nearly toss the phone. You stop him, latching onto one wrist as you push your cell against the other.
“Haven’t you done enough?”
“Hardly. Darling, we are on honeymoon, are we not? So let us taste the delicious nectar of our coming together--”
“Honeymoon? Wow, it’s wonderful,” you look around.
“Ah, yes, I do believe you mortals prefer to travel, so...”
He untangles his arm from your grasp and snaps his finger. His figure is limned in ribbons of green and your insides twist as the world spins around you. Your feet leave the ground only to land heavier on something else.
You blink and cry out. The sky is a vibrant violet and silver stars shine in a constellation all around. You crane to see the tapestry as your feet press on something rough. You look down and two golden sandals appear on your feet. The satin robe transforms into a gown with braiding that matches the shoes.
Loki turns parallel to you and presses his hand to your lower back. “Beautiful, yes?”
You peer around and open and close your mouth. You take inhale deeply. Several times. You know you’re nowhere on earth.
“I can breathe...” you murmur.
“As you know, I have my tricks,” he purrs.
“Wh-where are we?” You ask shakily, the reality that you’re on an entirely different planet rattles in your skull.
“Does it matter? We are together?” You look at him and he turns to meet your gaze, “why do you look upon me thus?”
You shake your head. You can’t explain all the ways he makes you feel. Loathing, confusion, agitation, and a little fear.
“It’s a lot,” you utter at last.
“Yes, I’ve been told I can be much to handle.”
You sigh and look up at the sky. It is pretty. Your eyes wander down to the rocky peaks along the far edge of the planet. It smells like... flowers and vanilla and cinnamon. You raise your nose to sniff it deeper.
“What is that?”
“I wouldn’t know. I smell sage and Asgardian oak. It won’t be the same as you.”
“Huh?” You glance at him again. This time, he laughs.
“Here, you can smell exactly what you like best. And the sky reflects the colours which you most love. To me, a sea of evergreen and sapphire, but now, a touch of the shade of your lips too. For you... well, what do you see?”
Your heart flips. It can’t be true.
“I’m not lying to you,” he affirms as if he can read your mind. Somehow, you believe him.
“It’s purple. Lilac and plum and there’s silver stars.”
“Lovely,” he wraps his arm around you. It’s strange. You don’t feel so... uneasy. Almost calm. “And you’ve not even seen our accommodation, my beautiful wife.”
“Just... let me enjoy this. Just a little.”
He hums but says nothing else. His fingers curl into your hips and his chest falls. You’re not happy but you’re not entirely unhappy. Not like it will make much difference. You’re in to deep.

Law Firm Marketing Unleashed: Strategies for Growth and Expansion
In the competitive landscape of the legal industry, effective marketing is crucial for law firms looking to grow and expand their client base. In this comprehensive guide, we'll delve into powerful strategies that can unleash the potential for growth and expansion in your law firm's marketing efforts. From digital marketing tactics to traditional approaches with a modern twist, we'll explore how you can elevate your firm's visibility, attract high-value clients, and position yourself for long-term success.
Understanding the Legal Landscape
The Importance of Strategic Marketing in Law Firms
In today's digital age, having a strategic marketing plan is essential for law firms to stay competitive. A well-executed marketing strategy can differentiate your firm from competitors, establish your expertise in specific practice areas, and attract potential clients.
Identifying Your Target Audience
One of the first steps in developing a successful marketing strategy for your law firm is identifying your target audience. Understanding the demographics, preferences, and pain points of your ideal clients will allow you to tailor your messaging and outreach efforts effectively.
Crafting Your Brand Identity
Building Trust and Credibility
In the legal industry, trust and credibility are paramount. Potential clients want to feel confident that they are choosing a law firm with a proven track record of success and expertise in their area of need. Building trust and credibility through your marketing efforts requires consistency, transparency, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Establishing Your Unique Value Proposition
What sets your law firm apart from the competition? Identifying and articulating your unique value proposition is essential for attracting clients and standing out in a crowded marketplace. Whether it's your extensive experience, innovative approach to client service, or specialization in a niche practice area, your unique value proposition should be front and center in your marketing efforts.
Leveraging Digital Marketing Channels
Developing a Strong Online Presence
In today's digital world, having a strong online presence is essential for law firms looking to attract clients and expand their reach. This includes having a professional website that showcases your firm's services, expertise, and testimonials from satisfied clients. Additionally, maintaining active profiles on social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook can help you connect with potential clients and establish your authority in your practice areas.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Strategies
Optimizing your website for search engines is crucial for ensuring that potential clients can find your firm when they search for legal services online. This involves identifying relevant keywords and phrases related to your practice areas, creating high-quality content that addresses the needs and concerns of your target audience, and optimizing your website's technical elements to improve its visibility in search engine results pages.
Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising
PPC advertising can be a highly effective way to drive targeted traffic to your website and generate leads for your law firm. By bidding on relevant keywords and phrases, you can ensure that your ads appear prominently on search engine results pages and reach potential clients who are actively searching for legal services. Additionally, platforms like Google Ads and Facebook Ads offer advanced targeting options that allow you to reach specific demographics, interests, and behaviors.
Engaging with Your Audience
Content Marketing Strategies
Creating high-quality, informative content is a powerful way to engage with your target audience, demonstrate your expertise, and build trust and credibility for your law firm. This can include blog posts, articles, whitepapers, e-books, videos, and other forms of content that address common questions, concerns, and challenges faced by your target audience.
Email Marketing Campaigns
Email marketing remains one of the most effective ways to nurture leads, build relationships with potential clients, and drive conversions for your law firm. By delivering personalized, relevant content directly to their inboxes, you can stay top-of-mind with your audience and encourage them to take action, whether it's scheduling a consultation, downloading a resource, or attending a webinar.
Measuring and Analyzing Your Results
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
To evaluate the effectiveness of your marketing efforts, it's essential to track and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) related to your website traffic, lead generation, client conversions, and return on investment (ROI). By regularly monitoring these metrics, you can identify areas for improvement, optimize your marketing strategies, and allocate your resources more effectively.
A/B Testing and Experimentation
Experimentation is key to refining your marketing strategies and achieving optimal results for your law firm. A/B testing involves comparing two versions of a marketing asset (such as a landing page, email subject line, or ad creative) to determine which performs better in terms of engagement, conversion rates, and other relevant metrics. By testing different variables and analyzing the results, you can gain valuable insights into what resonates most with your target audience and optimize your campaigns accordingly.
Final Thoughts
In the end, unleashing the full potential of your law firm's marketing efforts requires a strategic approach that integrates digital and traditional tactics, emphasizes trust and credibility, and prioritizes engagement with your target audience. By understanding the unique needs and preferences of your ideal clients, crafting a compelling brand identity, leveraging digital marketing channels effectively, and measuring your results, you can position your firm for growth and expansion in today's competitive legal landscape. With the right strategies in place, your law firm can attract high-value clients, differentiate itself from competitors, and achieve long-term success.

──the polymances are between eva and ??? (eva???) as well as fauve and ji han (fauhan)!
──this is totally inspired by episode 2.8 of sister boniface "dead air" but other than the idea of a radio show called Radio Catherine there are no other similarities!

(SPOILERS if you haven't seen the show yet):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lois Lane has a cut out clip of Vicki Vale. Vicki Vale is a journalist in Gotham City. Her first appearance was in Batman #49 (1948) as seen in the panel here (W: Bill Finger, A: Lew Sayre and Bob Kane, I: Charles Paris, L: Ira Schnapp).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Looks like Jimmy is a fan of Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask. Good video game taste.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jimmy mentions a psychic starfish and the one starfish in the DC universe who is psychic is Starro the Conqueror, who's first appearance is in Brave and the Bold 28 (1960) (the cover art here is done by Mike Sekowsky, Murphy Anderson, and Ira Schnapp) and has the power to mind control people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lois, after barging into Perry White's office about a story, mentions Mt. Simonson. This is a neat name drop to Superman: The Man of Steel writer Louise Simonson, one of the nicest comic book writers you'll ever meet. She helped co-create John Henry Irons a.k.a Steel with artist of the Superman: The Man of Steel comic, Jon Bogdanove (really hope we get to see Irons in this show too).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jon Bogdanove also gets a name drop here as does...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dan Jurgen, comic book writer and artist on the Superman comic in the 90s (also one of my favorite Superman artists).
Now who are these kids that call themselves the Newskid Legion? Well, they are a VERY deep DC cut and reference to the Newsboy Legion back in the 1940s. The group was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, LEGENDARY comic book creators.
Tumblr media
The page here is from Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe #16 (1986) with the art by Jack Kirby and Karl Kesel. Most of the Newskid Legion is named after the Newsboy Legion members
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gabby and Big Words here share names with their Newsboy Legion counterparts as does Flip Johnson...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
who shares names with Walter "Flip" Johnson here on the cover of Superman's Pal Jimmy Olson #137 (1971) which was done by Jack Kirby, Neal Adams, and Gaspar Saladino.
Tumblr media
Patty, the cartoonist of the Newskid Legion homages this panel from Adventures of Superman #500 (1993) (W: Karl Kesel, P: Tom Grummet, I: Doug Hazelwood, C: Glenn Whitmore, L: Albert DeGuzman), the first appearance of Superboy, Conner Kent/ Kon-El.
Tumblr media
But who is the one below that drawing? We'll his name is in Big Word's word puzzle, in the show. It's Jim Harper, the Guardian.
Tumblr media
Jim Harper becomes the Newsboy Legion's legal guardian despite their causing trouble for him. The page here is from Star Spangled Comics #7, the Newsboy Legion and the Guardian's first appearance, by Joe Simon, Jack Kirby, and Whitney Ellsworth. You might've seen the Guardian on the recent Young Justice cartoon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Lois, Clark, and Jimmy go investigate about the smuggled robots in Metropolis, Jimmy makes a reference to super intelligent gorillas in France. This is a subtle hint at Monsieur Mallah, the Doom Patrol villain who will be in the show along with his partner, the Brain. Both made their first appearance in Doom Patrol #86 (1964) .
Tumblr media
The cover art here is done by Arnold Drake, Bob Brown, and Ira Schnapp.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later in the episode we see Clark receive his powers and he is surrounded with electricity, giving off Superman Blue vibes when in the comics, Superman gained electricity powers and became Electric Blue Superman who's first appearance was in Superman #123 (1997) (cover art by Dan Jurgens, Joe Rubenstein, Patrick Martin, and Todd Klein.
