In comes our third faculty dorm, sponsor by the muscle-loving coach of NRC, Ashton Vargas, introducing...

Vargrove!

The name is obvious, a mix of Vargas (the surname of Coach Vargas) and grove (which is a small forest).

The dorm, sponsored by Coach Vargas, focuses on pure fitness and peak physical health (basically a huge gym). Every single student in this dorm are natural athletes and wants to strive further to be the best at sports. Because of Coach Vargas's constant "motivation", the students all favor over having peak athletic bodies for their entire life in Vargrove. (Yes, this whole dorm is a glorified group of sports jocks hyped on working out-)

"A dorm founded on the Heroic Hunter's spirit of bravery. Students in this dorm all strive to be the best by training all day and night to gain the perfect physique."

Requirements and Traits:

A natural athlete of various sports

Willing to push past limits to achieve greatness

Is a manly man Physically capable of body exercises

Here comes the dorm uniform designs:

This dorm uniform mostly took inspiration from your typical high school sports jocks, with the varsity jacket and everything, as well as color palettes taken from Gaston himself. The magic item is a crossbow that can shoot spells with the bolts enchanted with the dorm leader's magic.

Gilles Vargas!

Gilles Vargas is what you expect he is, being Coach Vargas's daughter youngest son out of his several kids, a sports junkie who wants nothing but pushing her his body to the absolute limits to get the body like her his father has, admiring him like her his personal idol. She He not only does this to herself himself, she he does this to the dorm members of Vargrove. As the dorm leader of Vargrove and Coach Vargas's understudy, she he wants to make sure her his fellow dorm members all share her his vision of becoming like her his father.

But somewhere deep down...Gilles can't help but wonder...is this really what she he wanted to do with his life? She He can't help but feel something lacking from her his life...

Gilles was born a female when young in the Vargas household, but due to Ashton's "one-sided" attention span, she was ignored in favor of Vargas's first few sons, nobody to care for her since her mother divorced Vargas months after her birth. Gilles only ever wanted to earn her father's attention despite being a girl in a household with mostly boys, but it never came...then she made the ultimate decision after reaching the age of 12: Cover up traits that seemed feminine and lie to her father that she has gotten "a transition surgery" to become a male, which Vargas ACTUALLY believed it, thus giving Gilles the attention she wanted, at the cost of hiding her own identity from everyone.

Notable Members:

Ladro Fertet (Vice Housewarden, Sophomore) - An accident-prone boy who follows Gilles almost anywhere, always showering praises for how great Gilles is. (Twisted off LeFou)

Epine Rosa (Sophomore) - A quiet redhead who sits around and doing meditations instead of extreme activities, but he hides a very temperamental side. (Twisted off the enchanted rose)

Claudio Amour (Freshman) - The oldest of the Amour triplets who suffers from Congenital insensitivity to pain (CIP), which is a disorder that makes him unable to feel pain, but he is living in his own mind and doesn't care in the slightest. (Twisted off Claudette/Red Bimbette)

Leandro Amour (Freshman) - The middle child of the Amour triplets who is crippled due to an incident that he doesn't want to bring up, and the most caring one out of the three. (Twisted off Laurette/Orange Bimbette)

Phillo Amour (Freshman) - The youngest of the Amour triplets who suffers from scoliosis, but that doesn't deter him from wanting to do something to help both his brothers and their widowed mother. (Paulette/Green Bimbette)

Synopsis:

Another day, another boring routine in Night Raven College. Everything seems the same as usual but their lives are soon to become chaotic when Gilles Vargas from the Vargrove dorm started showing up and pridefully boasting to everyone he comes across of how great he is at everything. It seemed annoying at first, but there comes the inter-school Spelldrive tournament everyone is dreading for, and it's against RSA, their most hated rival school.

Vargrove is motivated to win the inter-school Spelldrive tournament by any means, even Gilles, who wanted to win so his father can be proud. But things go awry when a hazel-haired boy from RSA caught Gilles's attention, immediately having the desire to impress him. Chaos ensues between the two schools as they compete for first place.

Vargrove is one of the more controversial dorms I made so far because of the number of representations here. I wanted to make a Beauty and the Beast-inspired story chapter where instead of an actual beast, the "beast" is the insecurities of their own disabilities.

The final volume of Ruiz Zafón’s cycle of novels set in the universe of the Cemetery of Forgotten Books, beautiful and enigmatic Alicia Gris, with the help of the Sempere family, uncovers one of the most shocking conspiracies in all Spanish history. Nine-year-old Alicia lost her parents during the Spanish Civil War when the Nacionales (the fascists) savagely bombed Barcelona in 1938. Twenty years later, she still carries the emotional and physical scars of that violent and terrifying time. This is the 2005 Christmas Station ID of GMA. The Christmas Station ID was themed “Kapuso, Ikaw ang Star ng Pasko”.

The Christmas Station ID Theme was sung Martin Nievera, Sharon Cuneta, Gary Valenciano, Pops Fernandez, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez featuring the Christmas Carollers from GMA and the original cast from the TV5 sketch comedy show Goin’ Bulilit. Somehow, The Christmas Station ID was shortened due to the video. Somehow, Starting in December 1, 2005, The song “Star ng Pasko” can be heard in DZBB Radyo 594 and various radio stations nationwide where it was extended. Somehow, This Christmas Station ID occurred before Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez’s wedding in December 30, 2005 which was 1 day before Ogie Alcasid’s birthday.

Sadly, Fernando Poe Jr. and Mark Gil don’t appear in the 2005 Christmas Station ID because Fernando Poe Jr. died in September 11, 2005 of leukemia and Mark Gil died in November 11, 2005 due to a respiratory failure.

But eventually, This was the only Christmas Station ID of GMA to feature the crew from ABS-CBN, GMA and TV5. But somehow, The clips will look different in the 2010 ABS-CBN Christmas Station ID which is “Da Best ang Pasko ng Pilipino” where they set up Christmas decorations in the house. Luckily, Martin Nievera creates a portal that could transport other crew members into other dimensions.

Somehow, Arcee Muñoz, Alice Dixson, Tuesday Vargas, Ritz Azul, Eula Caballero, Aga Muhlach, Geoff Eigenmann, Gabby Eigenmann and Willie Revillame may have moved to TV5 in 2005. But Ryan Agoncillo, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and IC Mendoza may have moved to ABS-CBN in 2005.

O encontro dentro do Programa Voz Única da FACISC ocorreu na terça-feira, 23, no Porto de Itapoá. O Secretário de Segurança Pública designado, coronel Flávio Graff, elencou as ações desenvolvidas no Estado, em especial na região Norte. A reunião abordou demandas como efetivo, infraestrutura, equipamentos e viaturas. A SSP-SC também recebeu documentos com reivindicações das associações para os municípios e que terão o devido encaminhamento junto às forças de Segurança. “Foi uma reunião bastante produtiva, bastante prestigiada, onde estiveram representadas todas as forças de Segurança Pública de nosso Estado, tendo levado as ações do governo Jorginho Mello e mostrado porque Santa Catarina é considerado o Estado mais seguro do País, tendo inclusive na regional Norte uma das cidades mais seguras do País”, destacou o secretário de Segurança Pública. Em termos de equipamentos – computadores, microscópios, câmaras frias, videocomparadores espectrais –, armamentos – armas, coletes, capacetes balísticos, munições –, viaturas (77 para SC), especialmente as relacionadas ao FESP (Fundo Estadual de Segurança Pública), os investimentos em SC somam mais de R$ 49 milhões no primeiro semestre de 2024. Argentina Defeat Colombia 1-0 To Win Record 16th Copa America

Lautaro Martinez scored an extra-time winner as Argentina beat Colombia 1-0 to win a record 16th Copa America title at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday.

A game of few chances, which had been marred by security and crowd issues, forcing a 82-minute delay, was decided by a quality finish from substitute Martinez -- who finished the tournament's top scorer with five goals.

The win was the third straight major tournament title for Argentine following their 2021 Copa victory and their triumph in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

There were tears before the celebrations though with Argentina captain Lionel Messi going off injured in the 66th minute watching the rest of the game distraught on the bench, while there was an emotional farewell for Angel Di Maria in his final game for the national team.

For Colombia, whose only title came in the 2001 Copa America and who were unbeaten in 28 games, it was a disappointing night when little seemed to work for Nestor Lorenzo's team.

There was chaos around entry to the stadium for fans, with organisers blaming supporters for trying to enter without tickets while fans blamed the lack of an efficient entry system to the venue.

The scenes were alarming with some fans needing medical attention for heat exhaustion but after the decision to suddenly throw open the gates, with no checks on those entering, the situation was largely resolved and the game went ahead.

Colombia's Jhon Corboba hit the bottom of the post with a speculative shot in the seventh minute but neither side were able to find their flow in the early stages.

Di Maria found Messi in the 20th minute with a low ball into the box and Messi's left-foot shot was saved by Colombia keeper Camilo Vargas.

Colombia had looked the more lively in the opening period and they went close in the 33rd minute when Jefferson Lerma tried his luck from 25 yards out and his low drive forced Emiliano Martinez into a diving save.

There was concern for Messi in the 36th minute when he dribbled to the byline but was halted by a sliding challenge from Santiago Arias which was ruled fair left the Argentine captain needing treatment.

Messi, who now plays his club football in Miami, then curled a free-kick in from the left flank but Nicolas Tagliafico's header was just off target.

It had been a disappointing first half and it didn't improve much after the break, when the fans had at least received some entertainment from Colombian singer Shakira.

Argentina failed to deal with a James Rodriguez corner and the ball looped to Davinson Sanchez but he was unable to keep down his header which floated over the bar.

There was finally some of the expected quality when Di Maria produced one of his trademark runs in from the left and forced Vargas into action, the Colombia keeper turning the ball wide of the post.

Then came a major blow for Argentine hopes when Messi went down, without contact, as he ran in midfield, and clearly in pain he went off to be replaced by Nicolas Gonzalez in the 66th minute.

It was too much for Messi, in what may have been his last major tournament, as he sat in tears on the bench, unable to hold back his emotions.

O Recod.ai, laboratório de Inteligência Artificial, fundado no Instituto de Computação (IC) da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp), é mais um centro de estudos brasileiros se tornar um AI Joint Lab. A parceria entre a NVIDIA e o laboratório da universidade tem como objetivo fornecer computação acelerada por meio de GPUs que possam ajudar os pesquisadores a treinar, implantar e incorporar dados complexos. Atualmente, são disponibilizadas cerca de 80 GPUs de diferentes modelos que são responsáveis por receber as cargas de trabalho dos mais variados projetos. Iniciada em 2022, a parceria começou por conta do contato do diretor e um dos fundadores do laboratório e também embaixador da NVIDIA, Prof. Anderson Rocha, para expandir as atividades, conexões, capacitações e parcerias do projeto. Além dele, compõem o Recod.ai hoje os professores: Leandro Villas, Jacques Wainer, Sandra Avila, Marcelo Reis, Marcos Raimundo Medeiros e Paula Dornhofer. Além deles, o laboratório também conta com os pesquisadores seniores Alexandre Ferreira, Áurea Soriano Vargas, Marcos Cirne e Didier Vega-Oliveros. “A NVIDIA viu em nosso laboratório muito potencial para atuação conjunta e nós também enxergamos uma oportunidade para conseguir se estabelecer, de fato, como o maior laboratório acadêmico de inteligência artificial da América Latina. Com a tecnologia da empresa, podemos ter uma melhoria no nosso poder computacional o que permite a prospecção de novos projetos e melhor sequência dos que já estão em processo”, afirma o Prof. Anderson Rocha.   Fundado em 2009, o Recod.ai conta com mais de 240 colaboradores de diferentes áreas tanto do Brasil quanto do exterior. Desses, cerca de 120 são alunos dos mais variados cursos e níveis (iniciação científica, mestrado e doutorado), pesquisadores de pós-doutorado, doutorado e colaboradores.  Atualmente, o laboratório possui diversos projetos em execução.
