i’m not one to advocate for prying away creative control from a creator’s (mangaka’s) cramped, overworked hands, and i understand that with oftentimes fandoms get so big that the story warps itself into something out of the creator’s control, but i do know what a good character arc looks like (i’ve seen it in this very story before) and i do know what public pressure can do to a creative mind.

that being said, keeping gojo dormant for more than a hundred chapters, then unsealing him only for him to gain nothing from his long-drawn out fight with sukuna is insane. i was assuming we were building up stakes in his character arc! i didn’t think he’d die prematurely without resolution! how could he be given a meaningless death when it was all he and geto talked about at one point?

gojo could’ve been living proof that change is possible and that fate is breakable. he was born after multiple cycles of six eyes and limitless users, he was born a baby-shaped building block, jujutsu’s atlas with the world on his shoulders. alone and untouchable. but he changed because he met geto. he changed because he met shoko, because he met megumi and yuuta and yuuji and every single character that has loved and cared about him. love changed him. to be loved is to be changed, and to have him go without an ending line to, “this is just a personal theory, but love is the most twisted curse of them all,” is such a loss. it’s like a sentence without a full-stop, abruptly cut short with no continuation.

i initially thought that he’d be weakened by sukuna, but then his allies would come running to back him up—there is strength in solidarity! his true strength should’ve stemmed from solidarity and love! interdependence and connection should’ve been the peak of his character arc! why did we end up with nothing even after tens of chapters of him fighting for his life? why did every other character sit still instead of using their advantage in numbers?

but i do see where gege is headed. with gojo gone, the baton has been passed onto the next generation. there is no longer a biological “hierarchy” of power amongst the sorcerers (to an extent), and perhaps sukuna himself will falter because the balance of the universe was pulled from under their feet. besides love, jjk is also about generational second chances: sashisu and itakugifushi; toji and maki; geto and yuuji and yuuta; geto walking to tengen’s quarters alone, delivering riko almost hesitantly, and yuuji waking to tengen’s quarters with megumi, yuuta, choso, and yuki. silhouettes in the dark of the tunnels. hell, you could even count yaga as a teacher and gojo as a teacher. or yaga’s CT and how he gave a child another chance at life. yuuji’s multiple resurrections. kenjaku and tengen. i get it, i do—i understand what gege’s trying to do here, but i’m tired of him using these characters as plot devices instead of giving them the resolution they deserve. (especially for jjk’s cash cow…he deserved more than a rushed end.)

i do hope that that one theory about gojo only being able to die if his head is cut off is true. but even then, after all of the fake outs we’ve had to read, that would be a shitty cheap shot. i’ll try to have faith; even that is wavering.

like realistically i very much doubt they would make ena unaccepting of mizuki's identity (i'm almost certainly just projecting when i say i'm afraid of that)

i feel like what actually is going to happen is that mizuki somehow gets outed by her classmates

considering mizuki seems to be wearing a regular shirt as opposed to their usual clothes/uniform and the detail the jp fan base pointed out of the debris flying away possibly being from fire, her fem uniform/clothes/accessories might be getting burned by her bullies or someone adjacent

the card is also called "what has been lost" possibly referring to these items since they are dear to mizuki

gojo satoru x reader story where everything's the same---riko is killed and haibara dies and geto defects and jjk 0 happens and jjk happens, with nanami dying and gojo dying etc. etc.---and you're gojo's widow, who also used to be his best friend while in high school but then were married to him once you two became adults because 'clans'---you did not really ever fall in love with him, and satoru knew this still chose to love you everyday of your married life together---anyway... as the plot is approaching an end, you finally make peace with the death of your husband, your comrades, so on and so forth; and just when you think you finally have some peace and quiet in your life, you're vaulted back in time into your 13 y.o. self, suddenly standing face-to-face with your best friend satoru complaining to you how he's utterly sick of his very overbearing clan elders, and that he is planning on going to the tokyo branch of jujutsu high---you just received a second chance at life, at correcting all that went wrong---so what are your plans? do you think you have enough energy, enough life left in you to assume the role of the construction crew, huh? or will you just let everything happen the way it is doomed supposed to happen, and just keep yourself out the way, stopping your second life from being messed up by anyone and everyone?

Seraph Emily, Redone

Emily's short screen time leaves her little character other than being a Charlie clone, and even then her design manages to not fit at all. Not an ounce of colour or fun.

Neither of the Seraphim sisters' true forms are that much more

interesting than the disguises nor are the disguises human enough to be justified so we're doing away with Emily's shovel head entirely, they just look like how they do.

The stand out issue is just lack of any Authority, despite her theoretically being second only to Sera; she gets side-lined in in what really should have been her song 'Welcome to Heaven' for Saint Peter, a nothing character in the grand scheme of things.

So let's dig in.

The Seraph Emily was created to lighten the High Seraph's workload, most importantly the social aspects Sera greatly struggles with as the oldest of Michael's creations and a bit of an eldridge creature in her own right. As such she's built to be as appealing to patrons as possible, shes quite toned down from the generic Seraph build.

Despite nearly 4000 years of service and her long out growing this apprenticeship stage, Emily's roles has barely expanded out from Sera.

She tries to take it in stride but its getting to her. Always surrounded by people, always with a hand in everything, except the important decisions.

With her primary posse in toe, Abel, Saint Peter of the Gate and Saint Philip of the Choir. (gay boys gang)

But of course, maybe Sera was hiding more than some extra responsibility.

After Sera's demotion (and maybe more) over that whole fuck ton of treason gets out, Emily's now in training as the new Head Seraph.

To get her some experience and away from the shit storm that is Heaven's political climate in the wake of Adam's death, the archangels station her at the Embassy.

Which suits Emily just find, there's a certain Princess of hell she's been dying to meet.

They're going to be trouple, this is a trouple setup, in this essay I will have Charlie fuck both those ancient angel woman.

But she won't be alone forever, someone has to show her the ropes after all, once he wraps up his work upstairs.

Its a bit of shock for all.
