I say, the original novel of IWTUTKBTSMLITI is good! And the anime adaption of it is okay till the show runner and original author separated ways. sigh
Drawfee fanart - fake original novel and discourse. yes, this is a high effort parody of a series that doesn't exist. I just love the Otome Isekai genre to bits.
These two fake covers bled me dry for moment lol

I am riddled with ailments, but I stay silly!
#ask#non mdzs#My health journey has been: Hernia -> acid reflux -> Vocal pain due to aforementioned reflux -> chest infection.#I'm terrified to know what's about to hit me next. Please let it be something kind. PLEASE.#The consequence of living with linguists is that you'll wake up with a wacked up voice -#suddenly you're sitting you down in front of a program called something like Praat having your shimmer and jitter levels calibrated.#They gave me a GRBAS of 33012. I have a fun thing called a pitch break where a whole octave just does not exist.#My vocal pain was bad enough I ended up seeing a speech pathologist and that whole experience was super neat!#I learnt a lot about voice - to be honest I might make a little comic on it after some more research. Fascinating stuff.#For example; your mental perception of our voice modulates the muscles of the vocal folds and larynx.#meaning that when you do have changes (inflammation = more mass = lower frequency)#your brain automatically attempts to correct it to what it 'should sound like'. Leading to a lot more vocal strain and damage!#And it gets really interesting for trans voice care as well - because the mental perception of one's voice isn't based on an existing sampl#So a good chunk of trans voice training is also done with the idea of finding one's voice and retraining the brain to accept it. Neat!#Parkinsonial Voice also has this perception to musculature link! The perception is that they are talking at a loud/normal volume#but the actual voice is quite breathy and weak. So vocal training works on practicing putting more effort into the voice#and retraining the brain to accept the 'loud' voice as 'normal'.#Isn't the human body fascinating?#Anyhow; Now I have vocal exercises and strategies to reduce strain and promote healing.#Which is a lot better than my previous strategy of yelling AAAH in my car until my 'voice smoothed out'.#You can imagine the horror on the speech path's face. I am an informed creature now.#I'm my own little lab rat now. I love learning and researching. Welcome to my tag lab. Class is dismissed.#I'll be back later with a few more answered asks </3 despite everything I'm still going to work and I need the extra sleep.#Thank you for the well wishes! And if you read all of that info dump; thank you for that as well!

Bro the fact mephone was silently watching that entire time, dude witnessed both rebellion and obedience met with death over too much personality shining through, he heard cobs say the people he cared about are dead now and don't matter, he heard the "ew" to the father comment
He heard the "it will be quick, and painless... right?" Before pained and terrified screams
He fad to just sit and watch as a psychological torment speedrun happened right in front of him

HC: Damien will always use the most obscure insults on people. The type where you'll think back to what he said a year later and be absolutely SHATTERED. Freelancer keeps trying to explain to him that insults aren't as effective if you have to explain them every fucking time. He ignores them and keeps saying crap like this:
"He's such a fucking Thersites."
*when someone brags about something simple* "Oh well, hello world!"
"Have you ever considered designing children's hospitals?"
(I ran out of insults quicker than expected)

Here's what I think. It doesn't matter whether Solas is right or wrong (he's wrong, though). That's not the point. The game has very clear themes that are woven into every major quest and side venture, and offers varying perspectives and opportunities for you, as a player, to determine Rook's outlook on those themes. How much is too much to forgive? Is anyone ever beyond redemption? Are we our nature? Can that be changed? Is it better to carry the weight of responsibility and the role of protector alone, or can that be shared? Can others be trusted, even if the past has repeatedly shown you they'll let you down or hurt you? And those are just a few! These types of questions, for me personally, are a big part of what make this game so enjoyable to play. And it's not trying to tell you there is a right answer to them. Solas has done good things and he's done terrible things. At this point in his story, his goal is obsolete, and his motivations are selfish. Sorry if you think he has some altruistic agenda. I like him, too! He’s a hell of a character. But I actually think it's much more interesting, and complicated, and kind of beautiful, that he's doing all this to soothe his own pain, and salve his own pride and ego, regardless of the cost, and that he's wrong! He's wrong, and lying, and by the end of the game has betrayed you multiple times, and, despite everything, regardless of how you feel about him, if you want, you can still say "Hey, I get it. You think it's too late for you. But it never is. There's always another way." Sorry for being a bleeding heart or whatever, but I love when compassion and hope can actually win, when they aren't shown as a weakness, but a weapon. And even that, in the end, is a choice. That's the point.

alien romulus (2024) is what can only be described as a love letter to the franchise, and particularly to alien (1979). the film devotes loving attention to all the horror elements of the original film that later films have left behind: the facehuggers, the gestation period of the chestburster, the acid blood, the uncertain humanity of synths, the vivid, hostile, dynamic setting, the pregnancy horror, the maternity horror, the vagina horror (with even some elements of vagina dentata), the 2001: a space odyssey (1968) callbacks, and even the slasher structure. unfortunately, they replicate the slasher structure in such a standard way that within minutes of the characters’ introduction i could accurately clock when each of them would die and more or less how. and, even more unfortunately, the film doesn’t put much more in its letter than its love for alien (1979); even the final scene is practically a 1:1 recreation of the ending of the first film, sans the cat and with the brunette lead in slightly less revealing underwear. the film is hugely effective in the exact same way that the original film is effective, and i would describe the experience of watching alien romulus (2024) as watching alien (1979) for the first time all over again, but soured by the knowledge that it surely could have been much more

I've been trying to bug dad to pass me some boring shit to work on from one of his projects or another for a while, and he's handed me a few sketches to do vector lineart for but it's been pretty slow going. the other day I asked for advice about like, prepping for and looking for entry level graphics work and I guess some other conversations took place and mom convinced him to let me do some spot art for a project from work. so that's neat. yay nepotism.

Has there been a Parks & Rec themed Steddie yet? I just think accidental Parks & recreation director Steve would be so cute. Still the 80s, still canon, just add in Hawkins Park & Rec department.
