You’d been planning this for a while. Weighing the pros and cons, imagining how it might feel, and picturing how he would react. Now it was done—both of your nipples pierced, tender and sensitive beneath a loose, comfortable shirt. Just two days since the procedure, and while the area was still sore, the excitement and pride you felt outweighed the discomfort. All that was left was to tell Jaren. It was evening, and you found him sprawled across the couch after a long recording session. He looked relaxed, one arm thrown casually over the back of the cushion. When you entered the living room, he glanced over, greeting you with a warm, tired smile. “Hey,” he said softly. “What’s up?” Your heart fluttered with anticipation. He had no clue what you’d done. He couldn’t possibly guess how you were about to shake his evening up. You took a slow breath and moved closer, stopping just a few steps away. “I’ve got something to show you,” you said, voice light but a bit nervous. He straightened slightly, interest piqued, eyebrows lifting. “Oh?” he teased, leaning forward. “Should I be worried?” Instead of answering, you caught the bottom of your loose shirt and lifted it just enough to expose your breasts—and the new, gleaming jewelry adorning them. The metal caught the low lamplight, making the barbells shine briefly. You didn’t linger in that position for too long, just enough for him to register what he was seeing before you let the fabric fall back into place.

He blinked, eyes going wide, completely caught off guard by the sudden flash. For a moment, he was speechless, staring at you like he wasn’t sure if he imagined it. Then a flush crawled across his cheeks as he stammered, “Did I—did you just—?” A grin tugged at your lips. “Yup,” you confirmed softly, enjoying how he was still processing. “I got my nipples pierced.” There, said out loud. He exhaled, finally coming to grips with what he saw. “Holy shit,” he murmured, cheeks still tinted pink, “You’re not messing with me?” His eyes flicked downward instinctively, as if your shirt might become transparent if he looked hard enough. Then he ran a hand through his hair, a nervous laugh escaping him. “That’s… wow. That’s really hot.” His voice dipped lower on the last word, like he almost couldn’t believe he was saying it. A pleased warmth spread through your chest. “I did it a couple days ago,” you said, taking a seat beside him. “They’re still tender, so I won’t be showing them off again just yet. But I couldn’t wait to tell you.” Your tone carried a hint of pride. You knew this was something bold and a bit daring, and you wanted him to appreciate that. He shook his head, still looking a bit dazed. “No, that’s—” He paused, a small laugh huffed out, “I’m just… totally floored. It’s so you, though. Doing something so bold and not giving me any warning.” He tilted his head, eyes softer now. “Does it hurt a lot?” “A bit,” you admitted, smoothing your hand over your collarbone, “but worth it. I’m excited. Once they heal, I’ll let you take a closer look.”

Your cheeks warmed at the thought, imagining his reaction when he could actually touch them. Jaren swallowed, still visibly intrigued. “God, I can’t wait,” he said, voice low. Then he offered a crooked smile. “This might be the sexiest surprise you’ve given me in… well, ever.” His grin turned sheepish. “I might be a bit distracted for the next few days, just so you know.” You let out a small laugh, relieved and delighted by his reaction. “I can live with that,” you teased, nudging his shoulder. “Just don’t blame me if you blush during your next stream.” He groaned dramatically, running a hand over his face. “I’m so screwed,” he said, half-laughing. “My chat’s gonna be like, ‘Smii7y, why are you all red?’ And I can’t exactly tell them, ‘Oh, sorry, my girlfriend got her nipples pierced and I can’t stop thinking about it.’” You snickered, leaning into him. “At least it’ll give you some motivation to wrap up work sooner so you can come home and…” Your voice trailed off suggestively, letting his imagination fill in the blanks. He inhaled sharply, sliding an arm around you. “Don’t tempt me. I’m already struggling not to ask you a million questions.” His thumb brushed lightly at your upper arm, a gentle sign of the comfort he took in your closeness. “I think it’s amazing you did something that makes you happy, even if it’s a little sore right now.” A fond smile curved your lips. “Thanks. I was nervous about telling you, but I’m glad you’re into it.”

He pressed a kiss to your temple. “Nervous? Never. I mean, you surprise me all the time, but this—” He chuckled again, voice warm. “This is a game-changer. I’m proud of you. And it’s…so fucking hot.” He said it again, firmer this time, as if to make sure you believed him. Your heart fluttered, leaning into his shoulder. “You’ve mentioned hot a few times now,” you teased softly. He kissed the top of your head, smiling against your hair. “Can you blame me? You did something badass and sexy, and I get to enjoy the result. Once you’re healed,” he added, voice lowering, “I’m definitely taking you up on that offer to get a closer look.” You laughed, snuggling closer. “Patience, Jaren,” you warned playfully. “Until then, you can just imagine.” He groaned theatrically, making you laugh harder, but then he softened. “I can handle it,” he murmured. “For you, I can wait.” In that tender lamplight, curled against him on the couch, you felt closer than ever. He respected your choice, admired your boldness, and found it undeniably alluring. The anticipation of what came next only added a delicious edge to the comfort of the moment.

🧸 ⇢ what's the fastest way to become your mutual?

The fastest way to become my mutual is take it very, very slow, lol. I met @xxlea-nardoxx after reblogging some of her Silver art, and we slowly began talking in the comments and reactions before moving to our DMs, but iirc that took multiple months. And for you, you began leaving comments on my Ao3 stories for a while before moving on to Tumblr (I don't recall if we exchanged Tumblr usernames or something, though. But your comments were a great help in getting through New Beginnings! <3). Overall, I vibe best with people who like/reblog some of my posts here and send in asks with me sending asks back at times: it gives me some time to see who I am talking to and what our stances are on things.

🦋 ⇢ share something that has been on your heart and mind lately

I'm so glad I am no longer so ill, haha. I legitimately couldn't do shit except lay on the couch, have a fever, and be unable to eat. Plus, it really sucked that it took so long (well over three weeks): I began feeling just a bit desperate with every time I thought I had improved, only for the illness to come right back again a day later. And I'm still easily winded with zero stamina... Running around like BotW!Link with a constantly-empty stamina wheel here, while having no idea when that will finally be fixed...

I want to use that uncertainty as a guiding line in Stories. I named the fic All The Stories That Will Be Written because we don't know how our stories and those of the world will go: none of us can predict the future. I know we can't, but I hate it. It makes an interesting contrast with Silver who is from the future and who has a very unique story that formed his life there, but who is also shackled by uncertainties and worries and acts out heavily because of those. Yesterday I was going through the bits I have already written... and I found I'm entirely stuck eight chapters in, lmao. There's events that I know have to happen: Espio will have to convince Silver to stay in the past for longer, Espio will have to try and find evidence that proves Silver's innocence, Silver will have to undergo some development that shows why he is so intense about everything all the time, and I also want him to discover what Espio is up to (I also have an idea of what will happen after that, but that is something I don't want to spoil yet :>). It just needs to be written, aka the number 1 enemy of all writers XD With having been so ill, my whole writing system is entirely out of whack. I gotta sit down and brainstorm the next handful of upcoming chapters and see what I can make of it!
