pride posts - day 7!

for today’s ship, i’m going back to the past - because i think that the past is important to reflect on too and can be in many ways, just as valid and important - even if the blog or the mun might no longer be active, you still treasure the experiences and the memories of writing with them and i do feel that every mun on here makes their own impact, varying in size or whether it’s positive or negative.  one of my earliest ships was with a Harry over at @lcghtnxng​​ - to be honest, i couldn’t even tell you how it came about, it was something that sort of evolved on its own - and it was a very mutual and loving relationship between these two guys.  i enjoyed just getting to write more domestic stuff like these two moving in together and just writing fluff of them being affectionate or exchanging tender words - it also stands out to me as one of the most mature and domestic ships i’ve ever done, period - m/m or otherwise - and i definitely hope to see more ships blossom and mature as time goes on, but this is one of my earliest examples and while i find it highly unlikely that they’ll ever see this, i just wanted to thank them and just gush about this early m/m ship with ryuji that truly was a joy to write.

I’ll be totally honest with you, if you would have asked me my secret RP fandoms bucket list, Harry Potter would have been up there.  Even though I don’t have the interest in the series that I used to, I will admit, if you’ll allow me to be corny here for just a second - just how magical the universe and how fun the thought is of throwing your muse into the wizarding world or Hogwarts.  So I was already pretty stoked interacting with you but on top of all of that, getting to build and develop a wholesome and loving relationship between two people while managing to integrate both of their worlds somewhat?? Heck yes! It is a great marriage of fandoms and an amazing and beautiful ship and I am so happy that you were there to write it alongside me - Harry/Ryuji is definitely up there as one of the unexpected, but definitely most wholesome Ryuji OTP’s!

Luthier nearly tripped over his robes running over to him. To maintain his dignity, he gives the summoner a small “I meant to do that” smile. At least, he hoped that’s what it looked like. He didn’t want it to commune something like “please help me.” He desired no undue pity.

“I’ve heard that your realm has an academy for those wishing to practice the arcane arts. Am I to take it that your realm has its own brand of magic, then?”

“Have you practiced magic yourself? Could you cast spells if you so willed it? Ah, and I must wonder what your method is! Do you employ a conduit of some sort, such as tomes, or do you use your own life force?”

“It… could be worse?” Harry’s trying to be optimistic with is fellow summoner; Keyword, trying.

“fair point. we could still be dealing with all the doom and gloom hel brought on. there’s... something comforting about the chaos, i guess. even if it is headache inducing like, ninety percent of the time. like... at least we can laugh about it all later. y’ get what i mean?”

Sirius leaned back on the couch, crossing his arms behind his head, and hummed thoughtfully. When they’d gotten the new place, just weeks after his name had been cleared, he’d made sure to get every last piece of furniture in a color other than Black. The couch was no exception: forest green, comfortable, and cobweb free. This new house had no dangerous creatures in the closets, no elf heads on the walls, no screaming portraits lurking on every floor. Just bright colors, a whole lot of windows, and Harry--Harry who got to stay all summer long, who wasn’t going back to the Dursleys. At least not if Sirius had anything to say about it.

He shrugged. Frankly, he didn’t care what they did as long as Harry was happy--and as long as they got out of the house. He couldn’t stand another summer locked inside. “Whatever you like,” he said agreeably, sitting up again and tossing the town map for Harry to catch. “Put your finger on something, and we’ll go there.”

“Heh,” He couldn’t help but stifle a smile at seeing his boyfriend in such a state.  Even so, his hand clutched onto Harry’s closely as he nodded his agreement.  “Where you go, I go - no questions asked.  Got any escape routes in mind?”

Sirius leaned back in the hard wooden chair of the hospital wing, glancing over his shoulder to where he knew Madam Pompfrey was pretending to be busy so she wouldn’t have to face him. Ever since he’d made sure Peter was locked up, since they’d dumped him at the castle gates and explained it all to Dumbledore, Sirius had refused to leave the hospital wing. It had been he who broke the Weasley boy’s leg, who had exposed Harry and Hermione to the dementors and a werewolf, and he had no plans of going anywhere until they were all healed.

That Dumbledore had managed to hold back a complete panic was quite the accomplishment in of itself, but the moment they left this place, Sirius knew it would be pandemonium: when the news got out–that Sirius had been innocent all this time, that Peter Pettigrew was alive and being carted off to Azkaban at that very moment, that the Ministry was drafting up a full pardon and apology…well, thought Sirius, at least the Dementors would be taken from the school when they took Peter away. 

He turned back to Harry, and a smile filled his sunken face–a real smile, genuine and excited, far removed from the mad grin that flickered upon every wanted poster in the country. “Yeah,” he croaked. “Yeah, if you’re ready. You’re all packed?” He paused, cleared his throat, “Mind you…the place I have isn’t great. Well, it’s terrible, actually.” He grimaced, thinking of Number 12, how he’d hoped never to step foot in that awful home ever again. “But it’ll be temporary. We’ll find somewhere else. If you want to.” He still couldn’t quite believe that Harry did want to–that he wouldn’t rather stay with his Aunt and Uncle, that he wanted to come stay for the summer with the previously believed mass murderer he’d seen on the news.
