I'd love to consider my OG novel active, but lbh it was written for nanowrimo and really I need to sit down and rethink the whole thing at this point. I love the base of it, but I think the plot happens in the wrong order somewhat. (I did cross 50K in nano, but 2.7k has been scrapped since.)

I hope you are all having a wonderful Friday! I'm thinking about doing some fun little silly things (It's shit posting, lbh it's all it ever is.) and DEEP DIVE into my drafts so I can get my queue running a little better.

Please know that despite how slow I am that I love every last one of my threads and all of you. Okay? Okay.

IVE THOUGHT WAY TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS IM GLAD IM NOT ALONE.

I landed on option D because I think in PIDW it could have been excused as “Binghe's destiny is everything it goes beyond one mark”, or a Starlight Glimmer-esque “he's free of the constraints of a mark”. Late-stage (post-outline death) PIDW would probably frame the mark's absence as a good thing. I think that Bingge would even convince himself he's better off this way, at least until finding out about Bingmei. Also what better way to cause him agony than to learn that his truest self/his destiny is tied to Shen Qingqiu. If Bingge doesn't realize SY!SQQ and SJ!SQQ are different he'll be stuck wondering forever what he did wrong that destroyed his very destiny

ALSO. Option C.2: Binghe gets his cutie mark/his cutie mark changes the moment he's pushed into the abyss. I think this would do interesting things to SQQ's brain. It seems like in canon, one of SQQ's driving factors in justifying pushing Binghe is the fact that it's a necessary part of LBH's character arc/ growth, and I think knowing that betraying Binghe is fundamental to who Binghe is as a person would make the mission even more emotional fraught for SQQ.

There is no forgiveness waiting for SQQ not just because Binghe never forgives, but because SQQ's fingerprints are too deep on LBH's soul to be erased, and there must be retribution.

Binghe's cutie mark in MLP aus is an interesting thing to contemplate because it feels obvious to just give him the demon mark, but there's quite a bit of debate regarding what exactly the cutie mark is supposed to represent and why/when ponies earn it. I'm personally inclined to the interpretation that cutie marks are earned not when a pony discovers their talent, but instead when they discover who they are (the example that rlly hits this for me is how Rarity, despite having diamonds as her mark, earns her mark not when she finds gemstones, but instead after she uses those stones to design costumes for her school play, an act which shows her creativity and generosity). So there's a few routes you can take with Binghe depending on what you want to emphasize:

A. He earns his mark with his adoptive mother and enters qjp with it. This could work as he is his truest self with her-- filial and innocent, but I personally feel him entering qjp as a blank flank would make more sense as it further emphasizes his vulnerability to bullying and ostracization from the other disciples

B. He earns his mark on Qing Jing Peak. I assume most disciples earn their marks at this point, and binghe could very well follow that pattern. I think this is much more likely for bingmei for obvious reasons, but if bingmei develops a cutie mark before bingge was supposed to that might tip sqq off that he really fucked the story up earlier than someone might want for world building reasons.

C. He earns his mark at the Abyss OR his mark changes at the Abyss. This is the most angsty for obvious reasons, on both a meta narrative level and on a character development level as this would suggest to Binghe that his "true self" is being a dangerous heavenly demon and that he can never return to being an innocent disciple. Of course, we could also get into the weeds here with if the heavenly demon equivalent to ponies are creatures with no cutie marks and therefore him being a hybrid means that he has unusual cutie mark expression under the influence of heavy demonic energy. If bingge made it this long as a blank flank I expect him earning the demon mark would be the natural outcome at this point in the story, or even within the abyss. Alternatively:

D. Bingge was intended to be markless for the entirety of PIDW. This slots in as an equivalent to the "bingge was never supposed to find true love" element of his character, going further to hit on the implication that the original Binghe is a deeply hollow person who doesn't truly know who he is despite appearances (I imagine he would keep his flank covered, or even use magic to disguise it as a demon mark cutie mark). Obviously this would not happen to bingmei which brings us to the alternative for him:

D.2. Bingmei earns his cutie mark sometime during the falling arc/postcanon after getting together with sqq. This makes sense in that this is really when Bingmei is fully free to be his true self with no inhibitions, but it could be argued that he had his life figured out as a teenager (see B) and got lost along the way, which wouldn't have much of an impact on his mark as we see various canon villains go through redemption arcs where their marks don't change. Of course, though, this would open the way for his mark to be something much more romantic, like a lotus blooming on a fan or something. So this could be a cute route that would provide a nice, if a bit less dramatic, end to his journey.

1. Longing by @bakugotrashpanda - Honestly anything by BTP is fucking fantastic but this was the fic that started it all. This is by far some of the best characterization of Bakugo that i've seen written and I ADORE it. Please the way he is with his daughter in this ALONE will make you SWOON.

2. The Art of Tea Composition by @karikarasuno Every single word in this is BEAUTIFUL stunning, glorious so domestic and lovely and beautiful and sexy and GOD Kari is just so fucking good at writing characters. And she wrote my fucking husband and just ekcjsadjkn

3. Before Number One by @saturnsorbits - this is honestly one of my FAVORITE Bakugo fics from one of my favorite writers. It just flows so well, I love his charcaterization I love the SEXXXXXXX. I just whbaskdjb i think about this fic A LOT ok?!?

4. Reverence by @onyxoverride - When i tell you I have been thinking about this fic SOOOOO MUCH since I read it. I'm NOT joking... A Series of Small Victories by @whats-her-quirk - Ok so I'm kinda cheating because i haven't read it all the way through yet but I read the start and the build up in the google doc and i was SCREAMINGGGGGG. I swear when I have time I will finish this because pegeren2k21 has finally arrived and my wife brought it to us.

6. Blood of Eden by @pleasantanathema - Another fic that I am constantly thinking of. It is always in my head. The lore in this is always something I wondering about because it's so fucking good. When writing Erwin I think about *this*Erwin for reference because it is just so damn good.

7. Pyroclastic by @titan-fodder -I know I know everyone is in love with Prima Vista with good reason (i will finish it i fucking swear) but THIS is the Miche fic I think of. The fucking Geology in it??? literally how could i not?? And Like this was the first Miche fic i ever read so it the pacing and everything literally felt like I was falling in love with him with the reader.

8. absolut by @lookslikeleese OH do you mean the fic that introduced me to my girlfriend Ochako?? Do you mean the one that made me scream in Weese's inbox, "WEESE I THINK IM GAY" Because yes. Yes Katsu is in this and he's hot. And yeah...there's Deku... BUT OCHAKOOOOO so hotttttttt in this. Please it's so good.

9. someone to you by @some-kindofgnome When I think Megumi, I think this fic. it is so tender and so incredibly (and obviously) well written but is so fucking true to his character how can you not love it and how can you not love him?? 12. Birthday Blues by @katsukikitten - my starlight this one tore me up because as always you're just so good at describing those angsty feelings we all feel but don't like putting into words. You make it beautiful and lovely but still manage to make us feel it in our guts when we read it. I really remember going "Omg yes that is exactly how it feels to still feel lonely in a room full of people" and I think that's such a great skill to have baby.

13. On Warrior's Wings by @jirou-s - Christineeee lovely Christineeee I remember being absolutely blown away by this fic. I remember the reader and wanting to know if she got her vengeance. i remember how poetic and beautiful the language was when i read it. WHEW idk if part two is still in your wips but i cannot wait to read it. NO RUSH!
