A number of prominent conservatives have made it a point to publicly refer to President Donald Trump as “daddy.” While the nickname has been derided by many as cringey and weird, it might actually tell us something about Trump’s political style, how his supporters view him and how people overall may at times assess political figures, according to experts.
On Friday, actor Mel Gibson was asked during an appearance on the Fox News show “Hannity” to weigh in on Trump’s recent visit to California amid the wildfires (Gibson, a California resident, lost his home in Malibu) when he bizarrely said, “I’m glad Trump’s here at the moment. It’s like daddy arrived, and he’s taking his belt off, you know?”
And conservative lawmakers such as Reps. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) and Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) have also readily given Trump the moniker. During an appearance on Fox News last week, Donalds listed off things he expects Trump to do during his second term, saying that the country will get the “stability that we were asking for.”
“Daddy’s back,” he said. “And that’s what you’re going to see.”
Boebert similarly leaned in on the parental figure theme in a post she shared on X, formerly called Twitter, the day before Trump’s inauguration.
“Daddy’s home!!” she wrote in the post, which featured a Time magazine cover showing an illustration of Trump.

Not enough people talk about how shitty Mentor Ji and Lord Shiba (Lauren and Jayden’s father) is.
Dude fr set his 5-7 year old son up as monster bait hoping that the monsters will hunt Jayden down and try to kill him all to protect his daughter.
Like that’s got to fuck Jayden up knowing that his father give no shits about his wellbeing and cared more about his sister than him. (Also Japan is a deeply patriarchal society and to have a daughter be considered over the son means that the son is useless or just so unworthy that it’s better that his is dead or disowned than be in charge) And Ji perpetuated this by making sure Jayden knew he was second rate place holder who is easily replaced. Not only that it’s shown that literally everyone but the other rangers knew he was the second son/place holder. (As Urther pendragon (another major AH) once put it “he isn’t worthless he is just worth less.”)
And Jayden is quite literally a Child soldier made by his dead father. Trapped in a house with little to no contact to the outside world to prevent distractions from the Plan. That Plan is that Lauren goes to master the symbol while Jayden draws the Nighlock away by goading them into fighting/killing him. And when Lauren returns Jayden is to leave immediately to prevent sibling infighting/power grab. Imagine telling this to a 5 year old, a 7 year old, a 12 year old, a 15 year old.
Like “Hey! So your sister was sent away to do a very important task and to make sure she succeeds in her very very important task you need to be a soldier and die for her no matter what! Oh also when she comes back you need to leave the only home you know immediately so that you aren’t tempted to challenge her or the other people in the house reject her for you because you aren’t a real Ranger you are just her place holder thus they can’t follow you over her. You got that? Good! You’re such a great brother.” Like???????
Not only that but at the end every one got a happy ending BUT JAYDEN. The other rangers got to leave and return to their lives. Antonio left AGAIN (after crushing so hard for 15!!!years!!!!) to go fishing around the world and go back home. And Lauren got to leave. Lauren got to pack up her stuff and decide to travel the world to find herself and her new purpose. (Good for her!) BUT What did Jayden get? To sit on a bench in the same damn house he was trapped in for his entire life with the man who trained him to die. He gets to sit there. AND CONTINUE TO TRAIN AND BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR ANY NIGHLOCK THAT MAY COME BACK!!!THATS IT!! THATS WHAT HE GETS!!! HE WILL DIE IN THAT HOUSE NEVER KNOWING THE OUTSIDE WORLD BESIDES WHAT HE SAW WHEN HE WAS FIGHTING OR WITH THE TEAM. THATS HIS ENDING!! AND WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HAPPY FOR HIM FOR THIS????
JAYDEN ENDS EXACTLY WHERE HE STARTED ABANDONED ALONE AND TRAPPED IN A HOUSE AND HIS DUTY
ALL BECAUSE OF HIS FUCKING FATHER AND MENTOR JI
Jayden has DADDY ISSUES AND THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXPLORED MORE
IN THIS ESSAY I WILL—

i don't even really care about the possibility of never hearing from kevin again im mostly just mad about 250. like i never got the sense of loss from losing kevin i mainly got that from lauren. also the shock of that stupid ass abuse dialogue. but like. if we get an episode of kevin by himself without one of his partners (lauren / charles & donovan / cecil & carlos) then what's even the point.

I'm gonna go ahead and say this, you can agree with me or not, whatever...
The media, press, interviewers, are really the ones who drove the whole "Pedro Pascal is daddy" thing into the ground.
They're the ones who made it weird. Not the fans. I mean c'mon who's worse:
A) a bunch of randos online that have a slim chance of meeting him and, if we did, would NEVER (hopefully) bring it up
OR
B) the people who are supposed to be professionals who stick microphones in his face or sit him down and ask him several questions about being a "daddy" literally every chance they get.
I'm gonna go with B. I mean yeah we started it online but seeing him being asked constantly about it during every premiere or promotion or whatever is gotten stale and weird They drove it into the ground.
All this to say: I'm not blaming the fans for it, it was a thing between some of us online. Pedro saw/heard about it, had a laugh and enjoyed it. It was the media that pretty much ruined it.

Lauren Wylie McDonald III (R-GA) Georgia State Representative
Seeing Lauren with the long hair makes me want to almost take a pass on him.
Let me clarify. I'm not passing on a chance to hit this stud. But I think long hair on a guy over 40… is kinda gay.
What? You get what I'm trying to say.

On A Side Note: Lauren “Bubba” McDonald, Jr., Wylie's dad could still get a taste.
