Merry Christmas! Decided to read your new update this morning after a big Christmas party last night, and I have to ask… has Lat always been a domme and we haven’t noticed? Is she just making this up as she goes along?

I guess more importantly, will we be able to talk to her about it and formalize our relationship dynamics?

Heyo, happy holidays! Sorry about the late response, I took a few days off from everything to be with family and stuff.

Lat is 100% making all of this up on the spot. She likes being a top, sure, but it's not something she has super set herself on for years or anything like that. She's doing all this stuff because it's turned out to be something she enjoys, it wasn't planned.

As for formalizing the relationship, I think that might be something that happens in Book 2, once some time has passed and you've all had... time, so to say, to focus on stuff that's more personal and such. Maybe there'll be a Valentine's Day scene where Lat can gift a sub MC something very very special!

Correct! All three have some kind of Future Sight! To explain:

Shine Hausen is straight up psychic, it runs in her family, and always manifests as clairvoyance. She later uses it to pilot the Fairlion-G and synchronize it with Latooni Subota’s Fairlion-S (who is the superior pilot between the two and basically uses Shine’s future sight to maneuver both mechs optimally)

Shulk, thanks to his possession of the Monado, can see a short bit into the future. Usually, this mostly shows him when he or someone he is currently working with is about to die, but occasionally he gets other visions. These pop up in gameplay as a warning system, especially in one particular boss fight when the boss is going to use their Mega Fuck You Move and you have like, five minutes to stop it. They also hint that some sidequests will end poorly if you don’t take an alternate route.

Xiang Yu, due to the technology used to make him, can predict the future with such unerring accuracy that it might as well be clairvoyance, even being described in terms akin to future sight. It does tend to result in him doing things without explaining, as he kind of forgets to explain his actions now, in the present.

Admittedly I’d considered Gilgamesh since he can also see the Future, but between him, Shine, and Shulk it felt too damn blonde.

Latooni has Support defense - this lets her take a hit for an ally.

Her ‘current’ mech is the Fairlion, the lighest mech in the game, having armor and evasion more comparable to the legacy jet you have lying around the hanger. 

Latooni also has the lowest defense in the game.

Obviously also Sanger, he’s arguably one of the most iconic SRW originals. (Seriously, you’d be hard-pressed to convince me he can go any lower than fifth on that list, and I’d say he’s the strongest contender for the #1 slot.) At the very least he’s pretty much universally held up in the fandom as among the premiere badasses of the series, far above his fellow @2 protagonists; pretty sure basically every house loves and respects Sanger.

Meanwhile the best the fandom can normally manage for Ibis is “lol [flat chest joke]”.

Can we romance other ROs after getting dumped by Ignis?

Yeah, that's part of the plan. It would be pretty shitty of me to have your girlfriend dump you and then force you into single-life for the rest of the series, wouldn't it? :/

I've mentioned this... on the forum, I think, but you'll be able to get involved with Latooni like, a few hours after the break-up happens. It won't be a full relationship when it happens, obviously, but you'll be set up kind of well by the time of Book 2. Iris is also a romanceable character that'll only join the main cast in Book 2, as well, and if anything, I think going for her after getting burned by Ignis would be a pretty interesting dynamic.

Those two aside, I haven't quite decided about the other ROs in Book 1 yet. I feel like Mars could work in Book 2, but the closer we get to the reveals of Book 1, the more I feel like an Aki relationship needs the emotional 'oomph' of starting in the first book. A lot of what I have planned wouldn't hit nearly as hard imo if you don't go through her scenes in the first book.

Nothing against the Hagane and Hiryu but we really need a new carrier too. It would be cool if they used W two part story and expand the second part to a real time skip, not long but enough to get new designs for the youngest characters like Latooni, Shine, Mai, Arado and Seolla.

I already miss SRW, when is next OG game please I need W in there so they can explain how a family of 5 plus Horis hid one of the most technologically advanced starships and its accompanying real robot from every government on earth (and also to see if I’m right that they’ll make Horis a former Divine Crusader instead of former OZ due to no Gundam Wing).

Best SRW OG mech and pilot (not necessarily a pair): GO

Uhhhhh I gotta do this Pre-V and Post-V because I reaaaaaaally loved the OG stuff in SRW V. 

I guess at one point it may have been Arado or Ryota? But the former is practically useless at this point and the latter hasn’t really developed as a character much. Touya is fun by the end of his game’s, and I do love his hot bloodedness in the Coustwell, but he’s hobbled a bit by being stuck in the Granteed in MD. So I’d say it’s split between Ryusei and Latooni. I just love them both, they’re genuinely kind characters who develop wonderfully. Plus they fill both my mech needs: Ryusei has so much willpower that he just goes beyond the impossible over and over, while Latooni doesn’t have any special abilities or anything, she can just keep up with Super Robots and the wildest of tech from pure skill. 

For robots… I really enjoyed the Wildwurger and the Alteisen in OG2, but I’m not a fan of MD’s art style and I don’t think either of them have fared very well from it. The Exbein Ashe was pretty god damn cool as the SRW version of the Exia Impulse, but my favourite would probably be the Bellzeleute. It’s such a speedy, wonderful little mech, and it LOOKS agile, which I adore. Must be said though, I hate its evolution into the Brigandy, especially since the Brigandy removes its single horned head and spindly legs, which were two of my favourite features. 

Now POST V, I am in love with Soji. He’s so cool, he’s so cool, he’s so so cool. I love his laidback general vibe, and the fact that it’s basically him working through his PTSD, and him stopping the jokes to scream his final attack in his upgrade is the absolute coolest thing. Also, when Koji gets possessed by Mazinger Zero, their battle dialogue is Soji trying to act relaxed as if everything is okay, in an attempt to comfort his friend. Also also, as well as hitting on every girl, he also hits on Kodai, which is fully living the dream. 

And, with that, I must admit that my absolute favourite SRW mech is without a doubt the Vangrey. It’s so garish and wasteful, firing missiles only to shoot them down to create smoke?! That’s nonsense! I love it!!! And the way it’s presented, as an overly powerful weapon, even that line “This power is… Addictive” It’s so cool!!! 

For its upgrades, I actually find the VangNex pretty bland, but the GranVang!!! It’s even cooler!!! It walks in space!!! Why?! No idea, it just looks badass!!! And that pistol attack, practically surfing an enemy while it shoots them full of holes, that’s amazing! Even its chest blaster, a feature I usually hate in super robots, manages to be beyond awesome by having the GranVang physically KICK the condensed particle. How cool is that?! So yeah, Soji and the Vangrey are so cool that I have to reserve them their own separate section of this answer. 

If it’s not obvious, I’m a huge fan of Eiichi Shimizu and his mech designs.
