Nathaniel and Marc date night in the DC AU!
It’s a quiet, peaceful noon in Paris… Or it would be if Marinette weren’t behind the wheel of a sports car she managed to hotwire. Civilians jump out of the way as the car races through the streets, the howling laughter of the five villain kids making chills go down their spines
Juleka: Can’t this go any faster? She points to the two police cars tailing them
Marinette: Relax, kitty, I happen to be an excellent driver. She drives through three red lights and nearly runs over a crossing guard Fuck! I missed! Alix, light my fireworks cannon, would ya? It’s under my seat.
Alix: FUCK YEAH! She grabs a handheld cannon and lights the wick. In a few seconds the firework shoots out of the cannon and hurdles for the police cars. Before they veer out of the way, the firework is suddenly stopped mid-air in a floating sphere of water Fun’s over.
Rose looks in the rear view mirror and sees the Hero class after them
Rose: Ugh! We didn’t get to rob the jewelry store yet! She summons several vines that spurt from the ground and grab hold of Aurore and Mireille. A few try to ensnare Simon, but he manages to outrun them and get them tangled
Jean: Serit rieht nettalf!
When the purple aura of Jean’s magic encases the tires of the sports car, they quickly flatten and the car stops in the middle of the road
Marinette: FUCK! Do you know how hard it was to make Juleka sneak into that rich dick’s mansion, then mess up the security system and then let us in?! She pulls out a tank of laughing gas and sprays it toward the heroes
Reshma rapidly flaps her wings to fans the laughing gas away, and Lacey, in the form of an octopus is thrown by Denise at Marinette
Marinette: Trying to pry Lacey off of her face GET THIS CTHULU MOTHERFUCKER OFF OF ME!
Ismael zaps the vines with his laser eyes while Denise fends off against Alix, blocking her scratches with their bracelets. Juleka repeatedly avoids Zoé’s bird-a-rangs.
Noticing Ismael coming up behind her about to use his ice breath, Juleka leaps into the air, and Ismael ends up freezing Mireille instead from the neck-down.
Ismael: Sorry, ‘Reille!
Mireille: Shivering I-I’m good. I’m good.
Aurore summons a geyser of water from a fire hydrant and morphs it into an arm to fight Rose’s carnivorous plants. When the water arm doesn’t seem to have an effect, Cosette electrifies the water and the plants are soon incapacitated
Meanwhile, Marc and Simon are getting civilians to safety, however, Marc finds himself unexpectedly trapped in Nathaniel’s massive fist. Unable to free himself, he resorts to a different tactic
Marc: Nathaniel, let me go, or else!
Nathaniel: Smirks Or else, what?
Marc: Or else, I’m canceling date night!
This declaration catches everyone listening off-guard. The villains and heroes even pause mid-fight
Marinette: With Lacey still on her face Wait, what’s happening?
Nathaniel’s eyes widen in alarm at Marc’s threat, and in not time, he releases the Tamaranean, not wanting to risk a nice evening with his boyfriend. He even gives Marc the puppy eyes for good measure
Marc: Aaw. He kisses him on the cheek Okay, I won’t cancel our date. You’re lucky you’re so cute.
Ismael: Wait… You two are dating?! Since when?!
Later that day
Lacey: You’re absolutely sure you want to go on a date with Nathaniel?
Marc: Brushing his hair It’s not like this is the first time we’ve gone out. Now you all just know about it.
Ismael: Yeah, but… It’s Nathaniel, you know… A VILLAIN!
Marc: I’m aware he’s a villain, Ismael. Puts on his boots
Zoé: Yeah, a villain who can crush a sixteen-wheeler with his bare hands.
Cosette: And makes Godzilla look like a whiny little bitch.
Ismael: And who made me have to twist and bend twenty lampposts in order to make handcuffs big enough for him
Jean: And… Oh, shoot, what’s one?… Gimme a minute.
Denise: Leave him alone, guys. Nathaniel obviously loves Marc, and Marc loves him. And there is nothing we can do about it.
Marc: Thank you, Denise.
Denise: Yeah, and if Nathaniel breaks his heart, I’ll break his titan-sized kneecaps.
Marc: … Thank you?
Reshma: … Alright, I’ll ask him. Do you have any industrial-sized pepper spray? Scarab wants to know before you leave.
Meanwhile
Marinette: So, what’s the plan? Make him feel all loved and vulnerable, and then POW! She shoots one of her ‘POW!’ guns That’s when you ambush him! One less crazy-strong alien for us to deal with!
Nathaniel: No, there’s not gonna be any ambushing.
Kim: Ah, I see. There “isn’t” gonna be an ambush.
Nathaniel: There definitely isn’t.
Nino: I hear you, bro. Wink.
Lila: You clever bitch.
Nathaniel: I’m not gonna ambush my boyfriend.
Chloé: But here’s a hero! It’s what we do!
Nathaniel: If it were any of his other classmates, then yes, I’d gladly ambush them, but not Marc. Also, one of you is gonna have to fight him during our weekly battles.
Adrien: We can’t fight him! He has laser eyes!
Juleka: Are you asking us to choose death?
Ivan: We can’t all be immortal like Denise is, I assume.
Max: We need your freakishly strong hands to hold him and Ismael hostage!
Nathaniel: And that comment earns you a time out. Picks Max up and holds him captive in his fist
Max: Muffled I’ve gotta learn to shut my mouth.

week 6: when the doubts creep in
prompt from the off-season winter sport fandom challenge
length: 1508 words
pairing: Gino Caviezel/Marco Odermatt
author's note: trying to make up for missing last week by adding the hint of a road trip but at the same time bending and breaking this weeks prompt again because writing is really hard on me atm
Justin didn't bother getting out of the car and to ring at Marco's door, he just honked three times, loud enough to wake up the entire neighborhood. Marco came hurrying out and down the last couple of stairs before either Justin or Thomas could get out of the car.
“You're late!,” he greeted them.
“And you're early, we're usually the ones left waiting.” Justin took Marco's bag and stowed with the rest of the luggage in the back of his car. After the suit bag was placed securely on the top, Marco and Justin hugged briefly. They hadn't seen each other in quite some time, Marco had been too tied up with work and hadn't found a chance to make it to Mauro's bachelor party so now the excitement for the actual wedding was even bigger. Marco climbed in the backseat.
Thomas acclaimed him with a “took you way too long” and Marco scoffed but gave him an affectionate pat to the shoulder. Justin went flat out and they shot down Marco's street, through the village and back on the highway within the least amount of time possible.
“As much as I'm concerned about us being late, I do fancy arriving at the venue in one piece so would you please not kill us?” Thomas asked. He had his hand clenched around the handle above his head.
“We're late,” Justin said, not even pretending to slow down. Oh, how much he'd missed them, Marco thought and laughed to himself. They told him all the fun stories about the party, most of them involving a drunk Justin and for some reasons Marco didn't quite catch, a pineapple-incident. He made a mental note to ask Gino about it later today. As for now, Marco was just very glad to be back around his teammates. The past weeks had been unusually busy, probably thanks to his very successful season. Everyone and their grandparents had wanted something from Marco and Zoé had done the most amazing job with coordinating the association's meetings around his private appointments.
“So, are you gonna do it?,” Justin eventually asked. He looked at Marco through the rearview mirror. Marco hesitated for a second, which was one way to answer.
“No,” he then added with a sigh. Thomas turned around in disbelieve. “You're breaking up with him?”
“Of course not, are you out of your mind?! I just don't want to pull all the attention on us. It's Mauro's wedding, it's really not my place to spoil it for either of them.”
“Yeah, Justin's gonna do that all by himself if he gets himself drunk again.” Thomas' comment earned him a punch from Justin.
The rest of the drive went by rather eventless. The serpentine streets guided them upwards, in and out of the forest, to the top where the view suddenly extended again and the clear blue sky welcomed them. It was all thanks to Justin’s insanity they made it in time, with the last guests still standing outside the chapel, about to get seated, when he basically threw the car to the side of the street and they all jumped out.
“Thank goodness,” Gino breathed as he spotted his friends. He was standing next to the entry so he could give a sign to the head of the band when it was time to start the music. Many people came so it took Justin and Thomas a bit longer than necessary to squeeze past friends and family members, earning one or two stern looks but the smiles and whispered “hello, great to see you” prevailed. Meanwhile Marco had allowed himself an extra minute to kiss Gino quickly. The older one had forgotten all about his anger and frustration and felt himself relaxing against Marco’s touch.
“You look amazing,” he said and Marco felt his heart stumble in his chest and his cheeks turning red. Even after so many years, it had never needed more effort from Gino than that to make Marco flush, a fact that probably wouldn’t be changing anytime soon.
Gino went to take his position next to Mauro just as the music began. Nina, Mauro’s soon-to-be wife, entered the chapel, looking as beautiful as never before. Mauro clutched his chest. It was hard to decide whether he should laugh or cry out of pure luck. Marco met Gino’s eyes and they both shared an equally affectionate smile. Had it been the right decision to leave the velvet box at home? Gino was the love of his life, no doubts creeping in there. But what if this was the last chance Marco got? The longer he waited, the more Gino might start to hesitate? It was Thomas who helped Marco out of the down pull of his spiraling thoughts. He leaned over and whispered: “You can still ask him, even without the ring.” At first, Marco didn’t react. He kept watching the ceremony. Mauro was taking his vows, stating how much he loved Nina, not just for who she was but also what she had done to him. There was more than one person in the audience who was reaching for their tissues. Marco refused to look up from his shoelaces. The days Mauro was referring to had been long and insufferable. The fact that Mauro had overcome this hell on earth with more positives than he had entered it with was a miracle. For a moment, the only thing audible was the rustling of hankies and people sniffling here and there. Then the first notes of a well-known Swiss pop song chimed up and by that time, even the people who hadn’t lost it completely yet, did so now.
The wedding and the reception were followed by a delicious open-air dinner on the Caviezel-estate. A couple of gazebos had been drawn up on the lawn, all surrounding a hardwood dance floor that was encircled by lanterns and flower décor, giving the whole setting a wonderful relaxed vibe. The band was playing danceable songs, those not dancing enjoyed a good talk along with a fine glass of wine. To wrap it up: it was a perfect night for the perfect wedding. Mauro and Nina were the center of attention on the dance floor. She had taken off her high heels a while ago already and now she was swinging in Mauro’s arms, with her head against his chest. It was obvious to everyone and their grandmother that those two had found their missing piece.
The guys were sitting at their table when Gino joined them. His day had been a lot busier than he had expected and so this was probably the first time he got to sit down properly. Underneath the exhaustion, he was happy though. He smiled at Marco as he poured him a glass of water and accepted it along with the soft kiss Marco placed on his cheek.
“Hey Justin, let’s go check out the photobooth,” Thomas quickly said and got up. Justin protested. “What? No, I only just sat down again, have you even tried the cake, it’s really good!” He stretched out his plate under Thomas’ nose who just motioned in Gino’s and Marco’s direction to make him understand the hint. “Yeah, the photobooth looks fun indeed,” he grumbled, leaving his second serving of dessert behind with a sad look. Neither Gino nor Marco had taken much notice of the conversation.
“I love Mauro but I’m seriously not sad about this day being over.,” Gino eventually sighed.
“Does that mean you don’t want a big party then once you get married?”
“Certainly not as big as this one. I don’t need a hundred guests in our front lawn.” Hearing Gino talk about their front lawn as if it was obvious enough they had already agreed on getting married was the last bit of certainty it took for Marco to do it. “Here goes nothing then,” he whispered and got up from his chair and down on one knee. He took Gino’s hand.
“I love you, Gino. I really do and although I can’t say a lot more about how much I love you without tearing up again, I want you to know that I don’t want to spend my life without you by my side anymore. So, I’m asking you: Will you do me the honor and marry me?”
This time, it was Gino who couldn’t decide between laughing and crying. The big lump in his throat prevented him from speaking so he just pulled out a little box from his pocket and presented its containments to Marco: A simple yet gorgeous ring. Marco just stared at it, giving Gino the chance to find his speech again. “I wasn’t sure if you’d ever ask. Yes, yes of course I want to marry you.” Gino pulled Marco to kiss him, both their faces covered in tears but the joy radiating off their bodies for everyone to see. They didn’t hear the people cheering and applauding, especially Gino’s brother and his sister-in-law. The most perfect end to a perfect day.

Miraculous Ladybug + Percy Jackson + The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The realm of Hyrule is overseen by many gods, but most have fallen into legend among the common people over the ages and the only main deity who is widely worshipped is Hylia, the goddess of light. However, they still live on the Sky Islands, and they have influence on the world through magic artifacts, the demigod children they sire, and monsters with whom they have a complicated relationship.
Zoé is the daughter of the god of derision Xuppu and the wealthy mortal Audrey, and is the half-sister of Chloé. Her power (which she doesn’t learn about until she is fifteen) causes things to go wrong around her, basically following Roger Rabbit rules. When consciously used, she can disrupt the powers of other demigods and even gods.
Princess Zelda is a daughter of Hylia.
Rose is a daughter of Aphrodite who works at the Stable Association, taking care of horses. She later offers her services to care for, groom, and heal Pegasi.
Juleka is a monster researcher and wayward member of the Stable Trotters. She met her girlfriend Rose at one of the group’s performances at the stable where Rose works.
In ancient times, Demise led monsters to ravage the world and try to overthrow the gods (similar to Typhon) and was opposed by Hylia, her daughter the first Zelda, and the mortal knight Link. Together, they defeated Demise and Link slew him with the Master Sword, forged with the might of all of the gods. With his dying breath, Demise placed a curse on the world, vowing that his power and fury will manifest again so long as Hylia’s blessing is revered and the hero Link’s spirit endures. This event is the reason that Hylia is still widely worshipped even tens of thousands of years later while other gods fell into myth. Demise’s wrath is also part of the reason that monsters rise back up from the depths of Tartarus and hunt demigods.
Camp Half-Blood is a safe haven and training ground for demigods. Zoé is brought there by a satyr after she is attacked by monsters following the Upheaval, where she meets and catches up with Percy for the first time in years.
After the Calamity’s defeat, the Titans plotted their return to power. As they built up their army, Ganondorf grew in power once again and attacked with a storm of Gloom when he freed his body from imprisonment. With his darkness enhanced by the corrupted Secret Stone of Nooroo’s power, he mutated monsters and demigods who have sided with the Titans into horrific fiends that threatened the four corners of Hyrule.
The demigods of Camp Half-Blood often team up with the Monster Control Crew to clear out the hordes of monsters threatening Hyrule.
Zoé is sent on group missions to clear out monster forces that have captains transformed by the corrupting Gloom, utilizing her ability to disrupt others’ powers in order to disable and defeat them. These missions often cause her to team up with Percy and Link.

DnD AU:
*after the animan session*
Alix: Wow that was a wild one.
Alya: probably a good thing that never actually happened. I think my dad would have banned you for life.
Kim: Oh I was banned for life years before your family moved here.
Alya: what...
Marinette: Oh no, I remeber that...
Nino: it was a class field trip and my dude somehow snuck away from the class. We literally had a search party to look for him and when we found him he somehow managed to get into the otter habitat and was swimming with them in nothing but his boxers.

MayBee Queen 2022 Day 30: Fix it (episode of your choice)
Read on AO3 instead
Normally I try to use the prompt in the fic, but this one can’t really be squeezed in so I’m making an exception.
—
Any thought that Chloé might have had of finally earning her mother’s affection was dashed when Audrey Bourgeois got off the plan with another daughter.
The revelation of Zoé Lee was shocking enough to still Chloé’s tongue long after it normally would have. She trailed along silently behind her father, mother, and – apparently – her half-sister, staring silently and resentfully at Zoé’s back. Because while it was obvious that Zoé was nothing like Audrey, it was equally obvious that Audrey actually thought something of Zoé.
She even remembered Zoé’s name.
Later, after Style Queen had been dealt with and Chloé was freed from being a gold glitter statue, she was following Audrey down the stairs of the Eiffel Tower when a small box on the ground caught her attention. Curious, Chloé dropped back and then stooped down to pick up the box. It was lighter than she’d expected, made from polished wood, and Chloé unthinkingly shoved it into her pocket to be examined more closely later.
“Mom! I’m glad you’re okay!” Zoé’s voice floated up to her and Chloé grimaced. She peered over the railing, stomach curling as she watched Zoé hug Audrey.
“I’m fine. Just remind to tell my husband to fire the people in charge of the Eiffel Tower elevators,” Audrey declared, pushing Zoé away.
Zoé sighed but smiled indulgently. “Sure. Now come on! Everyone is waiting for you to start the fashion show again!”
Audrey puffed up. “Of course they are.” She swept outside with Zoé on her heels – neither of them so much as glanced in Chloé’s direction. It was like she didn’t even exist. Except now she was being ignored by two members of her family, not just one, and it seemed like nothing that she did was enough to make anyone pay attention.
Chloé clenched her fist around the box and walked down the stairs as slowly as she could. When she got to the bottom, she realized that she didn’t even want to go back to the show. What was the point? It wasn’t like anyone was going to notice whether she was there or not…
“Ridiculous,” she muttered, biting her lip hard to hold back her tears. She didn’t think she could go in there and watch Audrey, André, and Zoé interacting anymore.
So she started walking home instead.
It took her a while to make it back to the hotel, but Chloé made it. She was exhausted by the time she got back to her room, but not too tired to pull the box out of her pocket to examine it further. She opened it the box and gasped with shock as a ball of yellow light shot out of it.
“Hello, my queen!” A bee-shaped little creature chirped, looking up at Chloé.
Chloé gaped at it. “What – what are you?” she asked wonderingly.
“I’m Pollen! The kwami of the Bee miraculous.”
Miraculous? Chloé’s eyebrows shot up as she looked down at the comb in the box and she realized what she was holding.
With this, she could become a hero like Ladybug and Chat Noir!
With this, maybe her mother would –
“What’s wrong, my queen?” Pollen asked worriedly as Chloé’s shoulders slumped and her face fell.
“It’s nothing,” Chloé said, gulping and wiping her sleeve across her eyes.
Who was she kidding? Not even being a superhero would be enough to catch Audrey Bourgeois’s attention. Not with Zoé around. Even if Chloé announced it right to her mother’s face, Audrey still wouldn’t care. Maybe nothing would ever be enough to make Audrey care. She tightened her grip on the box, wondering if it was even worth talking to Pollen.
But then Pollen flew a bit closer and laid a gentle paw on Chloé’s arm. She buzzed when she flew, and that plus the kind touch was enough to make Chloé smile a bit even as she wiped her eyes again. Pollen was here – Pollen was noticing her.
Maybe that could be enough.
“It’s – it’s okay. So… Pollen, was it? Tell me more about this miraculous.”

André's character development thought dump
THIS IS SO EXCITING
I'm so happy that Solitudes's A. Bourgeois is André, and that he's so passionate about his art!! He looks so proud of his past career. I find it absolutely great that he opens up to Zoé about it to make her feel better, and I'm pretty sure that the fact that they have each other's back will do wonders for his development - just look at what we know about Queen Banana - he's involved in a film event, and I wouldn't be surprised if he gave Nino pointers... And enjoyed being behind the camera once again.
Then we learned more about why he went into politics - it probably wasn't something he disliked too much, else he probably wouldn't have done it and wouldn't still be in function (they all look very young in the shot below), but he seems so much tenser than the pictures provided for when he was a movie director. He went from being the director from being the actor, and we can see he's not very pleased about it, he looks almost regretful.
(Side note, why is Jean-Machin included in this shot, when André was saying "his family made me think that I had to earn my place"? Is he part of the family? Is he actually an evil mastermind? What is going on there)
He's opening up about who he is, other than the mayor who lets himself be stepped on, and I think it's really important, especially for Zoé.
Like, if we look at the inside of his Dream Deposit: he kept the spools, the scripts, the magazines... And the fact that he hides his Solitude stuff feels like a very on the nose image that he's concealing his own loneliness. The title isn't trivial - it possibly relates to how he felt, like Zoé, before he found his calling and even afterwards? Like he doesn't exactly know how to fit in, and didn't have the right support system to feel accepted. Because let's face it, if Audrey really believed in his cinematographic talents, she would have let him do his thing rather than pushing him into politics. This is where Zoé finding people who aren't bullies like her family is super important - she has friends, equals (unlike Chloé who has "servants" and "sufferers"), who can cheer her on in her projects, and help her up even if she falls (btw I feel like part of that speech Marinette gave was a reference to the opening song and Chat's "she picks me up when I am down"). She can bloom and explore freely, rather than being pointed in a single direction which she doesn't like. A big part of her being able to break free of her mother and sister's judgement is thanks to Marinette and the gang's friendliness, but the fact that she knows that André is in her corner also helped a lot.
Extra thoughts about the Box:
-I'm kind of curious about the second magazine that's shown, because that woman looks a LOT like Kagami, with longer hair. Could that be young Tomoe? A fencing star, trying herself at cinema? Possibly meeting the Agreste family that way?... And possibly losing her sight in a movie accident (spools can catch on fire... And they were still used in cinemas in the 1970s/1980s, possibly later in indie cinemas - I'm thinking a Nuovo Cinema Paradiso type accident)
-I'm kind of disappointed about Chat Noir not getting a glimpse of the inside of the deposit. There's already a lot going on in the episode so adding it in would have been a stretch, but Adrien going to Bourgeois to talk about his mother? Maybe asking for a copy of the movie? I would've loved to see that!!

with a touch of gravity (and quite madly)
ch. 5: my broken drum.
Marinette holds a glass of wine close to her chest as she crosses the sea of people in the apartment.
It is still a mystery for her how Alya manages to befriend so many people and be comfortable with all of them in her apartment. Marinette has always been social, but never to this level. She swears she just passed by a girl Alya and she once met at a Zara store as they were in the queue for the changing room.
Alya is moving around from group to group, and Marinette doesn’t want to drag her away to stay with her. She searches the room with her sight, looking for a place to enjoy her glass without anyone loudly speaking in her ear, as they chew the amazing food Alya’s mother has prepared for the occasion.
The balcony is crowded with people smoking, but just on the corner of the window and the couch, there’s a perfectly calm space for her to be. Right beside a table of already served glasses and more alcohol and liquor for people to come and choose their favourite poison.
The smoke doesn’t get in and no one is actually sitting on the couch, and so she goes, sitting on the arm of the couch and drinking her wine.
keep reading or read on ao3
Nino should arrive at any minute with the ice Alya sent him to buy, she just has to wait for his familiar face to appear on the door and call for him before anyone else decides to speak with him.
Or for Adrien to appear first.
Marinette has her phone in her hand and looks down at the screen, but no messages have popped. It bothers her, making her frown.
Adrien should’ve landed an hour ago and he hasn’t texted. If something had happened to make him let, then he would have texted too. But he hasn’t.
Her fingers tap across the screen a million times, scribbling and erasing, and going back to write a message that she never ends up sending.
It is ridiculous to get so fixated on this little thing, that in any other day wouldn’t be a problem, but with how terrible the last weeks have been, being away from him, and knowing that he got angry when she fell asleep on the call, her nerves are getting the best of her.
“Oh, but would you look at that, if it isn’t my favourite ex-girlfriend!”
“I’m your only ex-girlfriend,” She laughs, leaving her now empty glass back on the table and jumping to hug him.
“I’m counting ex-flings, and even if not, you’re still my favourite.”
“Then if those are the rules, you’re my favourite ex too.”
They both laugh and start chatting not waiting for a second to catch up on life.
Obviously, one of the first things Luka asks, is where is Adrien.
“He is supposed to come here straight from the airport,” Marinette says and takes two champagne flutes from the table, offering one to Luka, “But I am afraid the plane might have run late.”
“Thanks, Nette,” He smiles, receiving the flute, “Where did he go to now?” “Milano, the offices there had a mishap, and his father sent him to fix it,” Marinette resists the urge to pout, “Where’s your girlfriend?”
“In the kitchen. She needed to take her medicine and asked Alya for water. She is gonna knock you out with love, she wouldn’t stop talking about how excited she was to be back so she could see you.” “Aw,” Marinette smiled tenderly, “I’ve missed Zoé too. I’ve missed you too.”
“And I’ve missed you. I miss going to concerts together. We should find a concert on a date we are both free and just go. Paris or London, it doesn’t matter.”
“I’d love that! I heard All Time Low has an upcoming tour, they tend to book shows in London.”
“That’s great!”
Luka continues naming bands that they could start keeping an eye on to go see in concert when Zoé joins them cheerfully, running towards Marinette and almost making them both drop to the floor.
With her there, the conversation turns to their life in London, their upcoming plans for films and music, and then they ask about her. They want to know how is she doing at uni, if her last project is going well if any brand has called for her to do her internship.
The conversation flows at a rhythm that makes her happy and at ease, completely forgetting about her phone and leaving it on her purse back on the couch as they move to the kitchen to look for food as they speak.
The lights of the kitchen are dim as in the rest of the apartment, with the oven on burning giving a calming orange tint to the environment, the bar doesn’t have the chairs on, displaying the food for the people in the living and dining room to go pick up, so Marinette and her friends group up on the other side, Luka leaning against the fridge, Zoé by his side and Marinette looking at them.
They pick up on waffles on sticks and chat a little bit more.
Marinette is eating her second waffle -a chocolate filled one with strawberries- when arms wrap around her waist and lips brush against the shell of her ear.
“ Princess, ” He purrs and the initial surprises fades away as she melts into his arms.
“Adrien!” Zoé and Luka cheer happily.
“Sunshine boy is finally here!” Alya says walking towards them and winks at Marinette.
Marinette turns her head to him and smiles. Adrien has already read her mind and leans in for a kiss.
“I missed you so much,” She says giving him another kiss and turning around completely this time, to see him face to face.
Adrien smiles and caresses her cheek.
“Me too, so damn much,” He kisses her forehead.
With so many people present, and being in the middle of a conversation, they can’t have the rencounter they wish they could.
“Do you want something to drink or eat, mon coeur? I just finished a waffle, I’m sure you’re going to love them, I can pick one for you as I go pick up a new glass of wine.”
“I’ll just have wine, I ate a sandwich on the plane so I’m fine,” He smiles and kisses her cheek before they walk towards the drinks’ table.
“When did you land? I thought you would be here before midnight.”
“Same hour I told you, there was a problem with my bags that made me stay at the airport longer than I should have.”
“Oh, that sucks. You should have texted or called me,” She gives him the glass and drinks of her own.
“I didn’t want to worry you, and I was coming either way. If I had taken a little longer I would have let you know.”
“Okay,” Marinette nods, not wanting to fight for something so little, even if it still bothers her, “Did you have a good flight? You look a little tired.”
“It was… not the best,” He winces, “I tried to look good…”
“And you do, I love how that shirt looks on you.”
He does look pulled together and nice on that dark turquoise silk shirt and black skinny trousers with sleek boots to match, but she can see through all that.
“You looks handsome as ever, but I know you well.”
“Thank you,” He smiles and squeezes her shoulder as she serves their wine, “You look stunning by the way… if there weren’t so many people around I would show you how much I’m loving how you look on that dress.” He says that in a whisper and a playful smile curls on his lips.
Marinette turns around with a shaky smile and bright red cheeks.
“What a shame.” Adrien tsks and shrugs, “I can show you later if you’re still interested.”
“I might,” She leans forward, pressing herself to him as she passes him his glass.
“I’ll keep it in mind,” He winks and they meet in a short kiss.
Adrien puts his arm around her waist and they walk back to the kitchen together.
“There they are, we thought we were going to be forgotten,” Alya teases.
“Sadly, I have manners,” Adrien flashes a smile.
“You still got here late.” “The airport’s fault, not mine. I’ll make it up with my gift, I promise.”
“Marinette told us you were in Milano,” Zoé says.
“Yes, there was something wrong with the promotion in the stores, and father sent me so I could see the business side of things.” “Did you get to run around the city?” Luka asks what everyone is thinking.
Adrien’s father has always been a subject that makes everyone uncomfortable and angry. When they first started dating, it was really hard for Marinette and Adrien to have time together.
Adrien’s school was close to Nino’s home, so she would ride the bus with him and they would wait outside his private school to have a few minutes with him before his chauffeur picked him up. It was one of the reasons why Nino and Adrien got so close.
Everyone wanted to meet Adrien but Marinette would have to make excuses for him all the time, it didn’t take long for everyone to realize how controlling his father was.
Things got better once Kagami came back on Adrien’s life and let her use him as an alibi anytime he wanted if she could do the same back.
“No, most I did was walk around with a gelato from the hotel to the store,” He shrugs, “But it’s fine, I’ve been there before.”
“I guess,” Luka whispers but Marinette hears. It's obvious that he is angry on Adrien’s behalf.
Marinette gives a sad smile to her friend and leans towards her boyfriend to snuggles on his arm.
Adrien looks down and smiles at her, rubbing his thumb over her hip in a tender manner.
“Well, at least you got to relax for the chaos that is this city,” Luka laughs, “I miss Paris a lot, but I would be lying if I said that I don’t get happy once a day knowing that there are no akuma attacks in London.”
“ Really? ” Adrien asks, surprising Marinette not only by how fast he reacts but that he is interested in continuing the conversation, “I didn’t even think about it. I don’t trouble myself with that ‘chaos’ and I live a calm life here in Paris, so it wasn’t much of a difference in Milano.”
Marinette pinches the bridge of her nose. Of course, that is his answer.
It’s not a bad or a mean answer, but Marinette can hear the actual feeling behind his words.
“That’s actually shocking,” Zoé says and her eyes open wide, “I really can’t believe you don’t think about it.”
“I don’t,” Adrien shrugs and take a sip of his wine.
“He never talks about it,” Alya adds and shots a concerned look towards Marinette.
Subtly, Marinette waves her hands to let her know that everything is fine. They can’t change subjects only because of her.
“Nothing at all?” Luka and Zoé question.
“Nothing at all,” Adrien nods.
“What about Ladybug? What do you think about her?” Zoé asks, taking a step forward as her eyes show her curiosity.
“I don’t think about her at all,” Adrien answers, unfazed, but Marinette can feel the tension building inside him.
“That’s your lost, Adrien,” Alya says, “She is so fucking cool.”
“Yes, she is,” Zoé nods aggressively, “C’mon, there must be something. I don’t think is possible to not have an opinion about something.”
“I gotta agree. For example, I think she is hot,” Luka adds, moving his hands, splashing a little of his beer.
Marinette chuckles. It’s not the first time she’s heard this from Luka, and she isn’t surprised by it either, after all, they dated, she knows he likes her physically. However, it still, makes her blush.
Adrien looks frustrated, he closes his eyes and sighs.
“Yes, I guess she is really fucking hot, but that’s it ,” Adrien answers and takes a sip of wine, looking away from them.
Marinette can feel her cheeks warming up more than before. He’s never said that to her.
“Sadly, the catboy is hot too,” Zoé sighs and leans into Alya who nods along.
“If you like the psychotic type,” Marinette adds, without missing a beat.
Adrien shifts beside her, and the hold he has on her waist tightens.
“So, you do think he is hot.” Luka laughs.
“Yes, objectively, he is hot. I would be blind if I didn’t admit it. He has pretty eyes, and a devilish smile that I’m sure melts more than one, and he is fit, and his shoulders are broad and his arms inviting and look like-” She stops. No, “Yeah, he is as hot as he is insane.”
“ Insane? ” Marinette hears Adrien whisper in disbelief.
The rest of her friends keep talking and arguing, all in lightness and good faith, a few jokes here and there, but she is unable to fully pay attention as she sees Adrien’s expression turns from slight annoyance to full-on rage.
“I mean, there is a good side,” Alya says, Zoé and Luka nod.
Adrien’s hand drops off her waist and this time is her who stiffens.
She takes his hand, and squeezes, hoping he can look at her and calm down, but he is already talking before she can put her plan in motion.
“Are you all fucking experts on moral compasses now, or what?” Adrien asks half laughing but his tone is piercing.
“I don’t think we need to be experts, Adrien,” Luka says and looks at Marinette with utter confusion.
Adrien blinks slowly, in disbelief, and let out an arrogant chuckle.
Marinette panics and does what she knows best: an escape plan.
She turns to Adrien side, to grab him by his arm, and purposefully hits the glass of wine he has in hand. It splashes to the carpet and it falls on Adrien’s shoes as well as hers, and because of that also in her pink stockings.
“Oh no! I’m sorry, baby,” She acts out real concern, and takes a step back, “Ugh, why am I always so clumsy?”
“It’s fine,” Adrien says but he still manages to irradiate the same level of anger as before.
“Here,” Zoé says giving her a few napkins and they both kneel down to clean the carpet. Then Zoé helps her clean her shoes.
“Thank you,” She says and stands up again, “I really am so clumsy, I’m sure you girls are starting to remember a thousand stories.” And just like that, the subject has changed because Alya begins laughing and starts telling one of the many stories.
Marinette smiles in triumph and goes back to Adrien.
“I think I need more wine,” Adrien says, shaking her off before she can even think of touching him.
Nonetheless, he doesn’t go to the table in the living room, fading in with all the other people at the party.
Her smile disappears.
She stays listening to Alya talk, but when Adrien doesn’t come back after ten minutes, she excuses herself and walks through the apartment.
It doesn’t take her long to find him, she knows he would go to a quiet and empty room.
So when she opens Alya’s bedroom door, she sees him on Alya’s balcony, leaning in the frame of the window.
The lights are off, but the lamp post of the street and the glow of the little stars on the sky falls on him, spectral white illuminating his narrowed green eyes, his frowning expression and a condescending smile.
“Was it worth staining your favourite pair of pink stockings for the distraction you tried to pull?” He shots at her.
“Is it worth it to be angry at me after we were away for a week just because of a stupid argument?”
“Oh, it is not a stupid argument, is a stupid subject.”
“Just because people don’t have the same opinion as you, doesn’t mean they’re wrong,” She knows how these arguments go, she might as well cut it at the beginning.
“It’s not that at all. I just feel like you- everyone is judging someone without knowing their full story.”
“And I think you’re projecting your own personal issues, mon coeur .”
“Oh, so now it is me who is in the wrong?” Adrien turns around, one crooked accusatory brow at her, “Didn’t you just-
“Don’t do this,” Marinette crosses her arms in front of her chest, “I hate to fight about this, I’m so tired of it. You can’t keep getting angry just because people don’t see it through the same lens that you do.”
“Do you think I enjoy this? I’m tired too, that’s why I am angry because everyone keeps bringing it up! There are so many other interesting things to ask and talk about. I hate this insane obsession everyone has with them as if we haven’t seen the same crazy fight scene over and over again for four years.”
“Zoé and Luka just came back from London, of course, they will talk about it.”
“Why? Why must they talk about that with us?”
“It is a common subject, Adrien, what else do you want them to talk about?”
“About you , for example.”
Marinette blows a raspberry.
“I’m serious!” He throws his hands up, and walks towards her, standing next to the bed, “We haven’t seen Luka and Zoé in a while, they could have asked you about uni. You’re rocking it.”
“They did ask, Adrien, you weren’t here yet.”
“But-
“No, ‘but’… please I’m tired. These weeks… you’ve never been so annoyed by it before. What’s happening to make you so angry about it? Why do we keep fighting? Whenever I would name it you would brush it off quickly, but we didn’t use to fight.” Could it be that he has started to put the pieces together? Could he know her secret and that’s what has him so worked up?
He gulps and brushes his bangs aggressively.
Adrien takes a step away from her and walks to sit on Alya’s desk chair.
“Adrien…” She pushes, staying where she is but ready to approach him.
“You got hurt.” He answers and clicks his tongue, moving his head side to side.
“ Adrien. ”
“I told you I would never let anything happen to you… but you had already gotten hurt that day, and I wasn’t there to help you. I can’t stop thinking about it, I can’t stop thinking that it could be worse than a few bruises, then the bloody wound… and I wasn’t there for you.”
“Hey, hey, you can’t blame yourself for that,” She places her hands on his shoulders, “How could you know that there was going to be an attack? I myself didn’t know I was going to be on that street at the same time an attack was happening, but it happened, and that’s life. You can’t let anger consume you, especially not when it’s over things you can’t control.”
“I just want it to be over,” He presses her head against her chest, “For it to end and not have to worry ever again if you’re caught in the crossfire or not.”
“I want that too, but you can’t be worrying about me so intensely that you are in a bad mood all the time,” She hugs him, hands tangling in his hair, “And I thought we already established I’m invincible.”
“It’s not funny, Nette,” He sighs, “How could I ever stop worrying about you?”
“You can care about me, the normal, healthy amount, but if you cross the line, you turn gloomy and moody and that… that makes me sad, baby.”
He looks up again, his expression dripping concern and sadness and so much guilt. It isn’t her objective to make him feel bad, but he has to know how his actions affect her.
“I don’t want to make you sad,” He stands up and holds her from her shoulders, “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry, just try to control your temper,” Marinette takes his hands, pushing them off her shoulders and dropping them so she can intertwine their fingers, “And on the other hand, I promise I will not bring up the subject unless the situation calls for it.”
“Like when you want to swoon over the hot leather catboy?”
The statement is atrocious but the fact that he is joking makes her look past it.
“I did not swoon!”
“Broad shoulders? Inviting arms? A devilish smile that could melt-
“ Stooop! ” She pushes his forehead and pouts.
“I’m just repeating what you said, princess,” He giggles, “I already knew that hot blondes are your type, but that was quite the speech. I hope you talk the same way about me when someone asks.”
Marinette laughs, a constant in her relationship with him.
“Oh, please, that doesn’t even come close,” She jumps and hangs from his neck, pulling him down to her, “But I refuse to stroke your ego, so I won’t tell you a word of it.”
“You know it’s worse if use my imagination.”
“I’ll take the risk,” She nuzzles her nose against his, “Should we get back to our friends?”
“Let me hold you a little longer,” He whispers and hugs her tighter, “A week without you is the worst kind of torture there is.”
“You’re the one who left me,” She pinches his cheeks playfully, “Next time take me with you.”
His smile doesn’t meet his eyes, “Yeah… if only-” He doesn’t finish his thought and kisses her neck instead.
It’s not an uncommon occurrence, for him to turn dark because of his own thoughts, and yet she isn’t able to figure out why. She hopes one day she’ll be able to unveil it, but right now is not the time to turn their sweet moment into another fight.

since we have a Zombies AU, what about Teen beach? Adrienette could be Lela and Tanner (with Marc as Butchy since he and Mari are HC’s as cousins. And Luka and Kagami could be Mack and Brady, but it would end up as a long-distance kind of poly thing!
On the sunny beaches at the lovely French Riviera, Kagami is a young surfer known around for her impressive moves and skillfull maneuvers
As she's getting back from surfing a wave, she makes her way to The Liberty, a surf shop owned and operated by Anarka Couffaine and her children, Luka and Juleka, to get some board wax
There, she walks in on them watching their favorite film, a 1960s musical titled Wet Side Story, where surfers and motorcycle bikers battle for the privilege to hang out at Big Kwami's, a beachside restaurant
It's surprisingly progressive by showing white and people of color hanging out together and the subtle queer themes
As Kagami and Luka watch the scene where Adrien, the leader of the surfers, catches Marinette, the cousin of the biker leader as she's falling off of the stage during her solo, they can't help but gush over their chemistry
Kagami: For such a campy low-budget film, this scene is truly a work of art.
Luka: Yeah, you can tell by Marinette's reaction that she wasn't expecting a surfer of all people to help her and Adrien... He didn't think about her being a biker, he just saw someone in need of saving.
Soon, Kagami's aunt, Tamika, comes by. Despite being the sister of Tomoe, she's nothing like her. She never excelled at fencing and is always aiming to please and honor her big sister despite the fact that she passed away years ago
When Tamika tells her that she needs to finish packing, this gets Luka's attention
Kagami then explains to him that before her mother died, Tamika promised Tomoe that Kagami would attend the same private school she did in Japan and join the ranks of the school's top-rated fencing team to continue her family's legacy. And she is leaving the next day
Luka: It doesn't sound like you want to go.
Kagami: I don't. But, it's what my mother would have wanted.
However, Luka's not letting her leave without a proper sendoff and without spending just one last moment together. So, he calls Kagami the day before she has to leave, and tells her to meet with him on the beach with her surfboard.
Together, they decide to surf a 40-foot wave that is about to hit the beach. However, the wave proves to be too strong, and they get swept away before they can paddle back
Somehow, eventually, they land on another beach where it's day time and brightly-colored
After their vision adjusts, they find themselves on the beach where Wet Side Story was filmed during the cast's opening number. Deciding not to let this moment goes to waste, Luka joins the film's cast in singing "Surf Crazy" while Kagami is wondering what the fuck is going on
When the song comes to an end, and the two wrap their heads around everything after concluding that this is not a dream, they remember that there will be a storm and giant wave at the end of the film. They can paddle out and it'll take them home. They just have to go along with the film
They go into Big Kwami's and introduce themselves to the surfers- Adrien, Nino, Nathaniel, Myléne, Ondine, Denise, Chloé, Cosette, Aurore, Jean, Austin A, Austin Q, and Austin B- who are all perplexed by the newcomers and don't know what to do or say until Jean just hollers,
Jean: These smoothies are crazy, dudes!
Then a moment later, the bikers arrive, consisting of their leader, Marc, his cousin, Marinette, along with Alya, Ivan, Max, Kim, Alix, Sabrina, Rose, Zoé, Simon, Mireille, Reshma, Lacey, Ismael, and Austin T
Luka: Oh, my God, I love this song.
Kagami: Yeah, and Marc is obviously looking at Nathaniel every time he says, 'Cruisin' for a Bruisin'... Also, is Marinette hotter up close, or is it just me?
Luka: Oh, I was looking at Adrien, but yeah, you're right.
After the start the surf and turf war and the number, "Cruisin' for a Bruisin'", Kagami and Luka are then invited to come to a party at Big Kwami's later that night.
That evening, Luka is enjoying the vibe of the film while Kagami is becoming more stressed by the minute as they need to get back home so she doesn't miss her flight. Luka's attempts at assuring her they'll get home before that don't work, and she starts to storm off as Marinette is singing "Falling For Ya" on stage
As Kagami is about to leave, she trips on the steps because of her flip flops and falls in the arms of none other than Adrien. Seeing this, Luka turns to the stage and sees Marinette about to fall off of the stage, but then catches her, and the two leads fall in love with them
This interferes with the film's plot, and now, none of the characters are sure what to do now. To keep the movie flowing and get out, Kagami and Luka realize that they need to make Adrien and Marinette fall in love to fix things
Luka: Let's just hope Les Moth and Dr. Pavon don't mess things up.
Kagami: Right. Them... Do those villains seem out of nowhere, or is it just me?
Luka: Yes! What is up with that? I get that they have to like, make the Bikers and Surfers get along to save their friends, but why scientists who are trying to control the weather?
Kagami: And the technology seems far too advanced for a 60s film.
Luka: What about Frankenstein?
Kagami: It is based on a book, it does not count.
As Adrien and Marinette express their love for Kagami and Luka, respectively through the song "Meant to Be", they try to subtly suggest to them that there may be someone else they are really meant to be with. Though, they can't lie and say they're not smitten by their damn 60s charm
That night, Luka joins the biker boys for a sleepover/initiation now that he's dating Marinette, while Kagami hangs out with the surfer girls (And Denise) at Big Kwami's as they sing "Like Me."
With Kagami, their relationship advice doesn't match with her modern views on how a relationship should work
Chloé: Invest in a cute sundress. Guys love to see a little knee these days!
Denise: And put those baking skills to use! Feed him a pie, and he's all yours'.
Cosette: Remember to look shy. Bat your eyes and look away to get him interested.
Now, with Luka
Kim: Take the lead. The ladies like a man in control.
Ismael: Don't let 'em know how much you care, alright? You can't be soft.
Marc: Yeah, trust us. The guys will be all over you... GIRLS! Girls! I meant girls! I am heterosexual... Dudes.
Austin T: *Whispering* Nice save.
As the movie progresses, they fail to make any progress on getting Marinette and Adrien together and find themselves falling for the characters themselves. Needing to de-stress, Luka decides to join some of the surfers by the bonfire
They get a little hostile at first when they see his biker attire until Luka correctly guesses the model guitar that Austin Q is strumming, and Adrien invites him to sit with them
Adrien: So, what's a biker doing over here?
Luka: I don't know. What's a cute surfer doing inviting me to sit with him?
Adrien: It's... Wha... What?
Nino: Dude, did he just flirt with Adrien?
Nathaniel: That's... Cool?
Jean: I wanna flirt with guys!
Cosette: Fuck that. I'm flirting with girls.
As Luka plays "Meant To Be Reprise" on the guitar and sings, Adrien is just smitten and sings along as the surfers find themselves thinking about the crushes they can't have for two reasons
Meanwhile, Kagami goes to surf, and catches Marinette's eye. When she returns to the beach, she's confronted by Marinette, who asks her to teach her how to surf
Kagami, after falling off her board while giving Marinette and lesson, realizes that she and Luka are morphing into the film when she falls into the water and her hair does not get wet
Kagami: Why isn't my hair wet?!
Marinette: *Giggles* Everyone knows you don't get wet when you get in the ocean or a pool. God, you're every bit as funny as Luka says you are.
Kagami: ... He talks about me?
Marinette: Yeah... Is there something going on between you two? I-I wouldn't want to-
Kagami: I wouldn't mind if you had a crush on Luka. That is to say, if we were dating, but we're not. But, I am polyamorous, so it would not bother me if you liked Luka.
Marinette: ... Poly what?
Now back to the real issue at hand. Luka and Kagami can't get wet, and they then begin to spontaneously sing and are unable to stop, leading to a song that is nowhere in the movie's cast album, "Can't Stop Singing"
They are then captured by Les Moth and Dr. Pavon and taken to the villains' lighthouse lair before their respective dates with Adrien and Marinette on the beach
Instead, Adrien and Marinette meet. And after some awkward conversation, they find they have a bit in common. However, before they can talk some more, Adrien spots a strange signal coming from the old lighthouse. In morse code, someone's saying "Help us. Kidnapped. Kagami and Luka." Good thing his character bio says he can read morse code
They round up the bikers and surfers to convince them to save Kagami and Luka and expect some reluctance, but to their surprise
Jean: That biker taught me things I didn't think were possible! *Seizes Austin T by the face and kisses him* Hell yeah, I'm saving him!
Zoé: Sure. Fuck it. *Kisses Cosette*
Marc: I'll help you if you do two things for me. One... Quit holding my cousin's hand, pretty boy! *Adrien quickly lets go of Marinette's hand* And two!... Tell me where that cute redhead surfer is.
Nathaniel: *Giggles* Hey, cutie.
Marc: *Smirks* I'll get to you later.
Meanwhile, Kagami admits to Luka that she is glad that she ended up in the film and does not have to attend private school and live up to the expectations her mother had in place for her
When she confesses that she thinks Marinette is braver than her for stepping out of the role the movie had set for her, Luka denies that, saying that she is the bravest girl he knows. And, noticing the little tint to her cheeks when she talks about Marinette, he asks if she likes her
Kagami: ... Don't think I didn't see you almost kiss Adrien.
Luka: Okay, that's fair. But, um... He's not the only person I like.
Kagami: I know, you like Marinette. Who doesn't?
Luka: Yeah, her too. But, I also meant you.
The surfers and bikers storm the lighthouse and in a typical queer teenager fashion, they trash the place with weapons they somehow obtained, and make out on top of the expensive equipment as Elvis plays in the background and disarm the machine... But now it's gonna explode
They escape just seconds before it explodes, and the scene takes them back to the beach. The film's plot returns to normal, and Luka and Kagami realize they are able to return home
Kagami: ... Fuck it. *Kisses Adrien and then Marinette*
Luka: Well, if she's doing it. *Kisses Adrien and then Marinette*
Austin A: Wait, we can just like, date more than one person? That's a thing people do?!
After saying goodbye to everyone, Kagami and Luka get on their surfboard and return to the real world, where no time has passed since they left. Kagami successfully surfs the 40-foot wave without getting dragged into a movie, and all is well... But, Tamika's upset about her delaying her flight
Kagami stands up to her aunt, telling her to stop trying to impress her sister when she's no longer around and to finally take the weight off of her shoulders. It takes a bit of convinving, but Tamika relents and agrees to let her continue her education in France.
Now all is well, and Kagami and Luka start dating
*Post Credits*
*Drenched and coughing up water, the bikers and surfers drag themselves onto the beach*
Marc: Guys! Guys, my hair is wet!
Alya: WHAT THE HELL?! So is mine!
Chloé: My mascara is running!
Kim: My beautiful quiff! Someone get me some grease!
Nathaniel: Why is it so hot outside?! It's boiling!
Austin A: Ew! The water tastes like salt!
Modern surfer: Hey, dudes. Are you lost? You're like totally wiggin' out, bruh.
Bikers/Surfers: ...
Sabrina: ... Hello. What year do you come from?
Modern Surfer: ... It's 2015. Seriously, do you need to call someone? *Holds up a flat phone, and the bikers and surfers scream*
Adrien: This is a phone? *Slowly takes it* Where's the dial?
Marinette: Maybe you open it?
Phone: You have one new message.
Bikers/Surfers: *Scream again*
Max: Guys... There's a woman inside of it.
Cosette: What sort of witchery is this?
*They crowd around Adrien as he taps the screen, and they scream at the image of Jagged Stone as the Home Screen*
Marc: Men can wear makeup?!
Jean: I am in awe of the future! *Sees a bunch of tan shirtless guys* And the awe continues.

Headcanon’s about DC Kids AU: Aurore’s hero name would be Whirlpool. Cosette’s would be Buzz Kill. Zoe’s realtionship with her blood siblings in a nutshell: “If I have a Penny for each half sibling that is only a few months older than me and is a jerk, I would have 2 Pennies. It’s not much, but weird that happened twice”. Mireille screamed at Volpina during a battle to make her illusions disappear.
Okay, let's do this!
Zoé: 'Sup, dick?
Dick: I can hear you using lowercase 'D,' you basic-ass blonde.
Zoé: Jealous I got a hot girlfriend and Starfire met someone else? Yeah, fuck you, dick.
-
Jean: Okay, okay! If you guys had to choose your superhero names... What would they be?!
Simon: Kid Quick.
Denise: Really?
Simon: Kid Flash is taken.
Ismael: Krypto-Kid.
Aurore: Okay, not bad. Simon, take notes. I'd go by Whirlpool.
Cosette: Can't decide between AC/DC, Buzz Kill, or Voltage. There's just too many electricity puns!
Zoé: I am the night. I am the vengeance. I am... Still thinking of something other than Robin.
-
Mireille: Hey, Volpina!
Volpina Illusions: What?!
Mireille: *Screams, causing the illusions to disappear when they're hit by the strong soundwaves, revealing the real Volpina who's going to have tinnitus for real*
-
*Still coming up with names*
Simon: Uh... Lightning Run?
Cosette: The electricity-based stuff is mine.
Simon: Ugh! This is hard! Marc, you go!
Marc: Would my Tamaranean-translated name suffice?
Aurore: Depends. What is it?
Marc: Myzan'r.
Jean: I like it!
Simon: Aw, come on!
-
Simon: Anyone want Japanese food for lunch?
Ismael: Sure.
Denise: I could eat.
Mireille: Pick me up some onigiri.
Simon: Be right back. *Dashes off, then returns seconds later with five bags in his hands* Guess who had time to grab mochi!
-
Kiran: Marc! Do the thing! Do the thing!
Marc: Okay, come here!
Nathaniel: What thing?
Marc: *Holding Kiran* Ready... Set... *Throws Kiran high into the air*
Nathaniel: ...
Marc: ... *Catches Kiran back in his arms* Nathaniel, would you like to try?
Nathaniel: *Backs away* No.
Ismael, Denise, and Marc can deadlift the Eiffel Tower like it's nothing
While on the phone, Aurore walked into the pool without a second thought and resumed her conversation for about ten minutes. It baffled Kim and Ondine for weeks
Lacey LOVES getting head pats. It's even better when she turns into a cat
Sometimes Jean talks in reverse without even thinking, and inadvertently casts a few spells
Whenever sunspots occur, Cosette's powers go haywire and create an electrical aura around her. It's best to keep your distance for a few hours... Or days
Denise doesn't even need the Lasso of Truth. Just one glare from them can have any pour soul spilling their guts
So she’s not blowing everyone’s eardrums out by stress-screaming, Mireille took up boxing to get her anger out
Tamaranean puberty can start at any age. For Marc, it started when he was fifteen, and he spent the week covering his face with his hood
Aurore: Marc, I'm sure it's not that bad.
Marc: *Crying* Yes, it is! I look like a raw glorkaroach!
Denise: Hon, you're probably blowing this all out of proportion. Now, let's see that darling face, and- *Marc pulls down his hood* Oh! Oh, Athena! That is not right!... *Pulls Marc's hood back up and pats his head* Yeah, just... Keep that on.
Marc: *Cries again*
Their outfits have some elements of their hero parents
Aurore’s skirts and tops have gold fish scales, and she has trident earrings
Mireille manages to make leather and sweaters work with each other. She also has a lot of fishnets
It’s not rare to see stars embroidered on Denise’s skirts
Marc often wears purple and jewelry made from metals found on Tamaran
Simon wears more warm colors and a few of his shirts have The Flash’s logo embroidered on it
Cosette’s color schemes usually consist of blue, yellow, white, and black
Zoé’s got a lot of black with some hints of yellow. There’s no way in hell she’s going out in Robin colors again
Ismael’s cardigan is a brighter shade of blue with red cuffs
A lot of Reshma’s clothes have vine patterns on the sleeves and hems
Lacey wears Beast Boy’s signature shade of purple with some hints of black
Jean dresses all fancy with bow ties, crop jackets, and tiny top hats on a headband
Now as for Jean and Austin’s relationship- Jean often makes Austin’s favorite flowers appear in his locker
Oh, and Austin knows that he and his friends are related to DC heroes. His dad actually came across Zoé’s dad a few times in Gotham before he was put away
They don’t care much for the Marvel heroes
Simon: Darkseid. The most dangerous villain in the universe. Powerful enough to defeat any hero he faces.
Ismael: Even Superman?
Simon: Yes.
Zoé: Batman?
Simon: Yes.
Reshma: Spider-Man?
Simon: Well, Spider-Man wouldn't fight Darkseid.
Marc: Is it because he is too lazy?
Ismael: What a bum!
Lacey: You know, this really lowers my opinion of Spider-Man.
Whenever they go into battle, there’s always this weird sequence with a 40s-era sounding announcer
Assembled in the tenth grade class of Francoise DuPont in Paris are the world's greatest young heroes. Simon! The fastest demiboy on Earth, but needs to improve his endurance. Zoé! He REALLY hates his brothers! Denise! They’ve got bracelets, and a rope! Cosette! A human taser with outdated slang! Lacey! The animal shapeshifter who sometimes eats meat! Jean! A spectacular magician who can talk in reverse and confuse people! Ismael! He successfully managed Superman’s signature curl! Marc! This alien prince is already spoken for, boys! Mireille! She can and will destroy your eardrums! And Aurore! She hates dolphins and finds them to be jerks! Evil-doers beware! These kids are doing things! Everywhere! With their underwear on the outside!
*The DC Kids look around for the source of the voice*
Aurore: Where is that coming from?!
Simon: *Searching through his bag* I-is there like a tape recorder somewhere?
Marc: *Blasts a hole through the wall* Still can’t find it!

Sorry to ask but I was wondering what would you do Zoé x Cosette corpse bride au? I’m just curious and wanting to find out.😅
Hmm 🤔
Victorian era, gay people are either killed or arrested
Zoé’s family is facing financial difficulties and as Audrey’s eldest daughter, she’s arranged to be married to the nouveau riche son of the owner of a chain of successful restaurants
(But also so Audrey and Chloé will be rid of her)
Remember when we feared these two being shipped?
Yeah, they’re getting married
This will raise the social class of Nathaniel’s mother and restore the wealth of Zoe’s family
But there are zero sparks. None. Nada. Zilch. And guess why
The wedding rehearsal goes fine at first when Nathaniel recites his vows… Then turns to hell when Zoé forgets her vows, accidentally sets Aya’s dress on fire and drops her ring
Embarrassed, Zoé runs to a nearby forest to rehearse her vows, even going so far as to put her wedding ring on a strange hand-shaped root
Then lightning, wind, crows, and the root is revealed to be the hand of a nearly decomposed young woman in a wedding dress
Zoé, of course, is terrified. Cuz that’s a damn corpse! So she runs away, but the corpse bride finds her and spirits her away
Welcome to the Land of the Dead!
When Zoé comes to, she finds herself surrounded by numerous corpses… Wanna know how they died?
Marc fell off a tall building (Chat Noir wasn’t there to catch him)
Ismael’s mom… Snapped
Reshma died of food poisoning
Simon was crushed by his own analytical engine, and bits and pieces stick out of his body
A small meteorite went right through Denise’s chest while they were stargazing on the roof
Lacey fell off a cliff while going for a hike
During a performance, Jean fell through a trap door
Austin T was killed by some homophobes who heard him professing his love at Jean’s grave
Aurore was struck by lightning because the tip of her umbrella was made of metal
Mireille drowned when some guys pushed her in a lake
Austin A died from hair products laced with uranium (Very dangerous)
Austin B died from a Black Widow. (The homicidal woman, not the spider)
Austin Q’s was choked in his sleep by an unknown assailant
Jean sings a little song to explain everything and Zoé learns that the corpse bride, Cosette, was murdered years ago on the night of their elopement by their fiancée, who stole the family jewels and gold they had brought
Desperate to return back home despite her blushing whenever Cosette smiles because all this is way too much for her, Zoé tricks her into returning her to the Lans of the Living by claiming she wants her to meet her parents
Cosette brings Zoé to meet the Elder (It’s Mendeleiev), the ruler of the underworld, and she grants them temporary passage
Zoé reunited with Nathaniel and claims she wants to marry him, but he doesn’t really believe that and confesses he never actually wanted to marry her
Before Zoé could say anything else, Cosette discovers them together and, betrayed and hurt, drags Zoé back to the Land of the Dead
Nathaniel tries to tell his mom and the Bourgeois family of Zoé situation, but no one believes him and they assume she’s left him
Without even informing Nathaniel or his mother, the Bourgeois family decides to marry him off to a distant relative of theirs. Lila. (Shut up)
Zoé eventually reconciles with Cosette after a piano duet where they almost kiss, only to be interrupted by Jean and Austin walking in on them while making out
Zoé/Cosette: *Lean in to kiss*
Jean: Sweet! Is this a make out party! Come here, mon amour! *Dips Austin and kisses him*
Later, Zoé learns of Nathaniel’s impending marriage to Lila from her family’s newly deceased butler
Deciding, ‘fuck it, she’s cute, and I don’t even like guys,’ Zoé decides to marry Cosette
Only, this will require her to repeat her wedding vows in the Land of the Living and drink a deadly poison in order to join them in death.
The dead prepare for the ceremony and head "upstairs", where the town erupts into a temporary panic upon their arrival until the living recognize their departed loved ones and reunite with them
The chaos causes a panicked Lila to expose her own poor financial standing and her intentions to marry Nathaniel only for his wealth
Nathaniel: I’m out! I almost got married to a girl who’s clearly sapphic, I saw a corpse in a wedding dress, the dead have risen, and now this?! I just can’t do this anymore! *Grabs a bottle of wine* And I’m keeping the ring!
Going for a walk to clear his head, Nathaniel witnesses Zoé and Cosette’s wedding as Zoé complete her vows without any trouble
He decides not to stop the wedding because obviously Cosette makes her happy in a way he wouldn’t ever be able to and sits down… Right next to Marc
Just as Zoé is about to drink the poison, Lila arrives to kidnap Nathaniel and holds him a knife point, threatening to kill him unless he marries her
Cosette: … Wait a minute… *Recognizes Lila* Oh, you SON OF A-!
Reshma: We’re in a church!
Cosette recognizes Lila as both her previous fiancée and murderer
Zoé duels with Lila to protect Nathaniel until Cosette intervenes to save her life by taking a sword to the neck
Accepting defeat, Lila mockingly toasts Cosette for dying unwed and unwittingly drinks the poison, causing her to die and allowing the dead – who cannot interfere in the affairs of the living – to take retribution against her for her crimes
The Dead: *Dragging Lila to a grave as she kicks and screams*
Ismael: Welcome to the Land of the Dead, bitch.
So, because she loves Cosette and her family really sucks ass, Zoé drinks the poison and becomes a corpse. They kiss, and all is well for the married couple
… Well, some is well
See, during Zoé and Lila’s duel, Lila accidentally slashed Nathaniel right across the chest and it cut way deep. Also, this is Victorian times, is the technology available to ensure he won’t die?… Probably not.
Anyway, Nathaniel dies, and now he’s a corpse. Fortunately, that cute corpse he sat with offers to show him around the Land of the Dead
