older man!neighbor!price
aaaayyyoo??? my little thing i posted last night kinda popped off. here’s another one before i fall off again (10 whole reblogs?? you guys are so cute).
price is sliiiightly older in this. think like mid to late 40’s. older man, next door neighbor. i envision this in a timeline where he retired early. this is very house-wife, american pie dream kinda deal. what can i say (hawk screech). OBVIOUSLY, some puss eating. what’s the reverse of a munch? not the one who eats, but the one who is eaten? cause that’s me. there’s a decent amount of set up for this one, but its not too long.
Part 2
-
neighbor!price is the kind of person you see that makes you pick up your phone and call your friends to tell them about the ‘hot ass dilf’ that you just saw leave the house next to yours. you had been in and out of the house all day, cleaning and moving in the smaller pieces of furniture into the previously vacant home.
the sun was just setting when you decided to stop, your clothes slightly damp from the thin coat of sweat that covered your body. you had taken the chance to finally sit down for the first time today, your body giving in as you plopped down onto the wooden steps that lead up to the porch.
you saw a car in the distance slowly approaching, it didn’t catch your attention again until it turned into the driveway adjacent to your home. a few seconds after it parked, an older man stepped out.
“well helllloooo neighbor…” you mumbled to yourself, smirking before deciding to stand up and greet him. just a new neighbor doing their neighborly duties of introducing themselves °_°
he hadn’t been paying attention until he saw your shadow being casted on the ground next to him. he turned his head to look at you.
his eyes locked with yours, boring into your skull the longer you looked at him. his face was covered in blonde and white hair, his beard kept fairly short. he was built too, his biceps practically being the size of your head, his t-shirt leaving little to the imagination.
it had felt like minutes since you approached him, staring into his eyes as he waited for you to say something.
“he-i just moved-next door-neighbor!!” you struggled to get out, your mouth suddenly becoming dry now that you are face-to-face. he gave you a tight lipped smile, nodding his head once before extending his hand out.
“john.” he said simply, “i live next door.” he smirked, his tone dry, but kinda humorous? or maybe he was just making fun of your struggle to introduce yourself. (YEEESSSSS MAKE FUN OF ME MAKE ME FEEL INFERIOR….srry, need to control myself).
you said your goodbyes and didn’t even get through the front door before you were calling your friend.
-
the next few days were exhausting. the movers had finally shown up and you were finally able to sleep in your bed once again. your home was still filled with boxes upon boxes upon boxes but you were determined to finally take a night to relax.
god must’ve had the devil on speed dial that night, because NOTHING went right. what was supposed to be a quiet night in bed with a glass of wine, quickly turned into a disaster when you went to take a shower. you had opted for a bath the last few nights, enjoying the warmth on your achy muscles from unpacking.
you pulled the tab that would usually start the shower head; you didn’t even have time to process what happened before you were drenched in water. you let out a panicked scream, trying to backtrack and shut off the water. the shower head had come clean off and was now spraying water over the entire room.
you were frozen in place, unsure of what to do or who even to call. your body was moving faster than your brain, you were already out the front door and knocking on your neighbors door in a frenzy.
he was old…er. he looked like a dad! he definitely would know what to do!
price was puzzled by the scene in front of him when he opened the door. you were soaked beyond belief, your hair sticking to your forehead, your eyes wide like you were a deer in headlights.
“can you please help me!” you begged, your voice so soft and sweet, your lips pouting out every so slightly. “my-my fucking shower exploded, or something!”
he agreed, following behind you with a small tool bag in his hand. you left a trail of water behind you, your bare feet hitting the concrete of the sidewalk as you walked quickly back to your home. john would never admit it, but he was staring. the shirt you wore was soaked and clung tightly to your body. outlining your figure.
john was able to rectify the situation rather quickly, even teaching you a few things about homeownership whilst he did. he was able to find the water shut off valve in your basement, stopping the water from spraying and almost flooding your bathroom. he also reattached the shower head, making sure it would actually stay out this time.
you thanked him profusely, over and over and over again all the way back to his front door where you followed him. you said your goodbyes, not without saying thank you one more time.
but it just wasn’t enough. that man, your neighbor, a stranger, john. was considerate enough to go out of his way to help you. you had to make it up to him! so you did…
by baking!! obviously!! :)
chocolate chip cookies, of course. everyone likes a good cookie!
once they were done and cooked you wrapped them up in plastic wrap, a small note attached to the top.
a thank you note.
you dropped them off on his doorstep the next morning, leaving them there for him to find.
-
the next few months were pretty consistent. thankfully, no more shower head explosions. you had a few problems here and there, but nothing you couldn’t fix!!…or that john could fix for you…
you paid him in baked goods and hot meals. even going out of your way to find out his favorites. he didn’t mind, he enjoyed it, maybe a little too much.
you had been out of town for a few days, taking an extra long weekend to go out and have fun. john agreed he would keep an eye on your house while you were gone. making sure nothing or nobody messed with it.
he would’ve done it even if you didn’t ask him
when you returned home you made it a priority to make dinner for both yourself and john that night. a quick and yummy thank you.
you packed the food in a small container, sticking a little note to the top just explaining what you made and what was in it. you might’ve drawn a little heart or two on it as well, but i’ll never tell.
you were in a pale yellow sun dress, the bottom of the dress juuuuusst barely covering the top half of your thighs. you knocked on john’s door, box of food in hand with a smile on your face. the door swung open, but it wasn’t john.
it was another man. a black man with sharp features and short hair. “is john home, by chance?” you asked.
the man in front of you smiled widely, a sort of mischievous smile. a ‘i know something you don’t knooooow’.
he wasn’t given a chance to respond before the man was pulled back by his shoulder and john appeared in front of him. john was quick to shut the door, gently coaxing you to walk half way down the path in front of his house, away from the door. he had a look on his face, he seemed annoyed, not at you, but at the situation.
“i’m sorry, i didn’t know you had company.” you smiled apologetically, “i just wanted to say thank you.” you said, holding up the container of warm food.
john gave a tight lipped smile back, graciously accepting the food.
“don’t worry about it,” he mumbled, “thank you.”
you went on your merry way, scampering your way back up your steps and into your house. not without a quick wave before the door slammed shut.
john held his head in his hands, letting out a deep breath before turning to head back inside. he could see 3 separate breaks in the blinds from where 3 people were peeking through. the second he noticed it, they were gone. blinds completely back to normal.
he walked back inside, preparing for the comments that would be made by his guests.
“she’s prettier than you described, cap.” said a smug Gaz, Johnny nodding frantically in agreement.
“Might have to snatch her up myself, old man.” Johnny joked. his joke being met with a harsh slap to the back of his head from Ghost.
-
it had been a few days since you had seen john. you were used to having at least one daily encounter with him, but now he seemed like he was avoiding you. you didn’t stress about it too much, just assumed he was busy with…whatever he did in his free time.
you were half a bottle of wine down when you heard a knock on the door. you weren’t expecting any visitors so you had decided to drink a little more than you usually would.
you swung the door open, all precautions to the wind as you didn’t even check who it was.
it was john.
“oh-john,” you smiled sweetly, his name sounded like the texture of honey when you spoke it. he liked it. he liked it a lot.
“can i come in?” he asked bluntly. he didn’t really wait for you to answer, pushing his way in and standing next to you.
so close to you.
“is something wrong?” you asked, a worried expression on your face. your brows furrowed in slight frustration. concern.
he was quiet, his breathing shaky as he thought of what to say. he had no idea of how to beat around the bush, how to say what he wanted to say without it being too forward. but what’s wrong with a little honesty?
“i want you so badly.” he said in a quiet, deep voice. his eyes looking directly into yours, holding eye contact.
you weren’t sure if you heard him right at first, thinking that your mind was playing tricks on you. making you think he said something else but there’s no way he said that…right?
“r-right now?” you asked.
he was surprised by your question, not at all expecting that kind of response.
he nodded.
all it took was a small nod back at him before he jumped your bones. his hands were hot and heavy as they touched and saw new areas of skin. your shirt was bunched up by your collarbones before you knew it, his tongue quickly finding place on your nipples.
gaaaawwwddd, he’d play with them forever if he could. making sure to keep them taut and wet for the rest of eternity. leaving sloppy wet kisses and small bite marks behind.
you had made it to the couch at some point, time was a blur for the moment. your only focus on the way his hands ravished your body.
he would periodically make eye contact with you before doing certain things. making sure that it’s what you wanted and that you were enjoying it. he had started to shimmy your panties down before looking at you again even tho he did just moments ago. you nodded enthusiastically, desperately wanting him to touch you.
he knew once they were off that he wouldn’t be able to control himself. he was on his kees; he had set you on one of the arms on the couch, one leg hanging loosely over his shoulder already while he held the other one in place.
yes his knees were screaming at him for acting like he had the same body he did in his 20’s. no he didn’t really care how much it’ll hurt later.
the second your underwear was off your leg, he was going for it. he used his thumbs to spread you open slightly, admiring it before licking a looooooong, slow stripe up the middle, ending on your clit.
he’d be such a fucking tease. going all in and bringing you right to the top of your peak before pulling away or slowing down. you’d protest, desperation dripping from your words.
he’d get you to a point where all you could say was “please please please please”. he’d finally decide to cave, not stopping this time. it was almost too much for you to handle, your legs trembling and shaking.
he wouldn’t stop after either. you’d pull at his hair, letting out a cry as you tried to pry him off. but you were just sooooo weak from the last one :,( after the 4th or 5th, maybe 6th? you had lost count. he would finally let you go. making sure to give your pussy a small smack, enjoying the small squeal you let out a little too much.
and he’d make sure to fuck you silly too. turning you so that you would hang over the arm of the couch. he had to completely support you weight, which was fine with him. he’d ask for permission before even pulling his dick out; he’d use your own wetness as lube to stroke himself a few times before pushing in.
god he was sooo big, much bigger than any guy your own age.
he would 100000% talk you through your orgasms. you can’t remember a single thing he said, but you remember it being amazing.
once you were both done, he would take care of you. no doubt about it. he’d carry you to bed, bring you water, dress you in a new pair of pajamas and as long as you invited him, he would cuddle up next to you and hold you.
HUGE into pillow talk. would just talk about anything and would listen to whatever you said. nodding along with you.
the next time you cooked for him, it was extra delicious. and he’d be sure to tell you that when returning the container the next morning.
but not without updating you in his new favorite meal.
you.

A Proper Welcoming Party - Epilogue
Always Rig to Blow
Parts 1 2 3 and extra context
Jumping short distances with an emergency activation is generally safe due to the simple fact that the universe is so vast that 99.9999% of the time you'll end up in empty space.
This group of Big Thrashers raiders - Gobsmack's Gobbers (Big Thrasher named everyone and objections meant death) - found themselves in a nightmarish cluster of icy planetesimals, heavily illuminated for some reason, and criss-crossed with makeshift installations and contraptions whose purpose one could only guess at.
Alarms rang out of imminent collision as one of the ice rocks was hurtling towards their general direction. Barely composing themselves, the crew managed to fire up the engines and perform evasive maneuvers, but only just. And only for a brief moment - they were in a navigational nightmare, the likes of which even the most hardcore simulations only ever run as an example for places you never, ever, EVER fly into.
To add to their distress and confusion, the raiders were hailed by a lone Human vessel, which was darting with unbelievable agility through the impossible and ever changing field.
"Howdy there, names Abigail, you boys are lost I'm guessin'. Keep moving for a bit more, I'll turn off the Intermediate track config."
The Gobbers were stunned and blinded by a sudden outburst of hundreds of massive jets streaming immense propulsion force from all of the moving icy objects. Viewed from afar, a magnificent sight to behold - cascading lights, reflections, fiery cones, and sparkly clouds from escaping ice particles. Viewed from within, pure terror, a torturous miasma of fire, ice, dust, and raw force of power emanating from whatever is powering all these massive engines.
Merely a few seconds later though, complete silence. Peaceful even.
"So... bad jump, eh? It happens. Real poor luck ending up here though, gotta say. You should buy lottery tickets beating the odds like this!"
Abigail snort-laughs.
"If ya want, hook up to any of the track-layer movers, those things you just saw that, well, move the track pieces around. I hear our generators can fill up your wee batteries or whatever you got in minutes. Sorry I ain't got much else to offer, still working out the logistics for food and drink stalls here. Hard to get any sponsors so far out, you know?"
The raiders did not.
The more quick witted of the crew had already scanned the whole... mess of whatever this was, as well as Abigail's vessel, and realized something - all these engines mounted on some useless rocks, and her craft in particular, were extraordinarily powerful and tough, and most importantly - not attached to things with giant rail cannons. Big Thrasher wasn't here, so they were allowed to speak up and convince the others using evidence based facts and to make decisions as a group.
The pack of about a dozen ships had made a decision - they would plunder this area, take the Human as a trophy, and form a new Pirate Fleet with their soon-to-be enhanced ships. Abigail did not respond how they expected her to when they made their statement.
"Ooh, so like, you wanna have a competition, eh? See who's gonna be on top of the food chain. Alright."
An excited grin forming on her lips with that last word. A second later, every engine fired a searing jet of energy to once again engage the race track. This time on Expert difficulty.
Two of the Gobbers' ships were instantly crushed between colliding ice rocks, sending a shower of dust and debris all over the place, the rocks bouncing around (with the aid of the engines) to create a true chaos field of death.
It was a struggle to find any valid escape vectors in this ever changing vortex, but a few of the crew were working on a plan. The pilots just needed to keep the ships alive long enough. Meanwhile, Abigail was practically dancing around the field in her customized vessel, named Victor in bold neon lettering on its left flank. Whenever she spotted an opportunity, she manually fired off certain engines to make life for these pirates just a tad more unsurvivable than it already was.
Just as she had split three more ships in half with a particularly slim and sharpened icicle (the size of a small container ship) Victor came to a halt. All systems fried - it was a targeted EMP. Due to the prevalence of shielding technology, electromagnetic pulses were generally not that useful, unless you could generate one powerful enough to overwhelm the entire shield system, but that would be the equivalent of a star shooting one off, so they were rarely fielded. But as ramshackle pirate fleets go, you mount and use whatever you can get your hands on.
One of the more tech-savvy of the crew remembered that they had yet to encounter Human craft with shields, and that one of their ships had an EMP cannon. Being able to put two and two together at a greater pace than their former "Admiral", this one cleverly found a way to quickly defeat the Human.
Another crew member, who liked to dabble in the digital realm, initially dismissed their surprisingly easy access to the engine systems, thinking only a poorly set trap would use "Password" as the passcode for full system access. Once the excitement was slightly lesser from Abigail no longer making it worse every second, did they think to give it a try anyway.
And it worked. The UI was comically simple, again, most would dismiss a screen that just had five buttons on it labeled - [Beginner] [Novice] [Intermediate] [Expert] [Reset] - as a trap, but getting the sense this Human liked things simple, they pressed the Reset button, and once more the fireworks of engines and particles illuminated the area before halting the movements of the race track entirely.
Relieved beyond belief that the nightmare was over, the pirates, formerly know as Gobsmack's Gobbers (they'll come up with a new name soon, they just wanna get rid of Big Thrashers legacy as quickly as possible) set about to strip the place for all it was worth.
All of the pirate ships had indeed taken Abigail up on her previous offer and one of them was the first to finish recharging their hyperdrive, and was about to set out to go and retrieve Abigail's craft, when it suddenly burst back to life and a modified looking escape pod shot off to a fair distance from the track and the pirates who had all latched themselves to it. She opened a comm-link to the pack of raiders:
"Ehmps are annoying, but we got redundancies for a reason fellas. Also, you didn't think this place wasn't set to blow if I couldn't deal with ya'll in a bit more controlled way, did ya?
Well, cuz it is.
Rule #1, buckos - Always rig to blow."
With the flick of a switch and the brightness of a star, Abby's Action Asteroids (trademark never made it through), alongside a half-dozen of the remaining Raider ships, was no more.
Victor, or what's left of him, a shabby escape pod. Hector, sound asleep, she'd just given him a can of wet food before the whole... excitement started. And Abigail - miffed, scuffed, and a little drained, was looking to see what she hadn't "modified" or outright removed from the pod for her other "ideas". Fortunately, basic life support is intact, thrusters and quantum comms though... not so much. There's enough to cobble a regular transmitter and the cryo-stasis module appears intact.
"Welp, looks like it'll just be me, Victor, and Hector, ain't that right? (Oi, at least turn one of yer ears at me). Fine, then it'll be me and Victor. A-hem:
Dear diary, I hope somebody is less than a light-month out from here, cuz I got a fair to attend. They'll be showing off the newest burst jets. Imagine - you're going 0.002C, full stop, 180 turn, then back to 0.002C in under 10 seconds! Sure, any organic'll become a puddle, but at race-track speeds - think of the cornering we can do with that! Anyway, there's food for maybe a week, so imma join Hector now. (C'mere ya bum, we're sleepin' together). The end.
P.S. If you're the popo, it was totally self defense, I got the footage right here, I am not responsible for where the debris goes."

Too Small To Be Afraid (Chapter 3)
Links:
Cover / Master Post / Previous Chapter / Next Chapter
- - - - - - - - - -
The ride to Chancelor was a long one. It was around seven o'clock when we pulled into the station in our new home town. As soon as we got off the train, Dad's face lit up like a little kid during the Year's End Festival looking at all of the springtime decorations. He had something to say about nearly every street we went down, as well as every store and restaurant we passed. He pointed out a little bakery not far from the new apartment and suggested we check it out despite the fact that we still had our carry-ons with us.
After our aimless sightseeing was done—and by that, I mean after we managed to figure out where we were after getting lost, we finally arrived at our new apartment. We were greeted by faded blue walls, creaky floorboards, and artificial windows that wouldn't turn on. As expected, the place was barren of any furniture, so we had a rough night sleeping on the floor.
But, I'd rather be sleeping on any cold, hard floor now than moving these boxes in from the perthean lobby.
I try not to gaze upward at a ceiling that feels miles away as I go fetch more boxes to bring up to the apartment. I try not to look around me at all the furniture throughout the room that towers over me. I try to ignore the distant chatter of some pertheans having a business meeting with some humans on the other side of the room. I should feel safe at this distance, but the knowledge that one of those pertheans could come over and grab me if they wanted to lingers in the back of my mind as I walk through the lobby. A walk that would take minutes for me would be mere seconds to them. It would be nothing.
I heave one box atop some others and wheeze as I struggle to lift the whole stack up at once.
"Not so many at once, honey!" Dad says, approaching from behind. "Here, let me take this big one from the bottom."
I lift the two lighter boxes off of the bigger box so Dad can take it, and follow him up the stairs to the balcony. I keep my distance, though, lest he try to rope me into any more conversations with the perthean receptionist.
"She's almost done with high school," Dad says when he reaches the balcony.
Great. He's talking about me again. I speed up and head for the door to the human lobby as quickly as I can.
"This year will be stage 4d, her last year," he says.
"Senior year!" the receptionist exclaims gleefully. "Do you have any plans for university?"
I stop dead in my tracks. She must be talking to me.
"N-no, not yet. I'm still deciding on a career," I say. "Excuse me, I'm gonna set these boxes down."
I tighten my grip on the box in my hands and turn to enter the human lobby, a quivering breath escaping me. I don't understand why the movers couldn't have just delivered our storage container back to the undercity so we could unload through the human lobby.
"Sorry," Dad says from behind me. "She's a little shy."
I board the reserved elevator and hit '8' on the wall with my elbow. The button gives off a dull glow as a chime plays overhead and the doors begin to close.
"Wait! Hold the door!" Dad exclaims, running up to the elevator.
I'm surprised he actually wrapped up his chat with the receptionist that quickly. When Dad starts a conversation, it can be hard for him to stop. I'm just glad we're making progress with these boxes at all.
I hold the door open with my foot, and Dad joins me inside the elevator with the box he was carrying. I remove my foot from the door, and it glides shut, leaving us alone inside.
"Kaylin," Dad says. "There's something I want to talk to you about."
Oh, boy. Here it comes.
Dad lets out a cough before continuing, "I know you've been having a hard time managing your fear lately with how much we've been above ground. I know it isn't easy for you being around pertheans, but I want to make sure you know that having a fear of pertheans is not an excuse to be rude to them," he says.
I immediately regret holding the door.
"I'm not trying to be rude," I say, adjusting my grip on the boxes in my hands. "I'm just trying to get away."
"That's exactly what I mean," Dad says. "I think you owe it to them to at least try to have a decent conversation every once in a while."
"Owe it to them? Because I have a fear?" I ask. "So having a fear is wrong?"
"That's not what I mean. It's just that..." Dad sighs, shifting in place. "They deserve to be treated just like you'd treat anyone else, no matter how tall they are to us."
"But what if a perthean finds out I have a fear? What if they hold that against me? What if--"
"I think most would respect you for pushing past it," Dad interrupts.
"I want to push past it," I say, searching for the words to use. "I just don't know how I'm supposed to do that. It's so hard when all I think about is--"
"Then don't think about that," Dad interrupts again. "Like you said before, it's best not to go back there."
The elevator plays another one of its soft chimes, and the doors open for us. We step out, carrying our boxes down the hall to the apartment.
"Think on something positive. Don't you have any good memories with at least one perthean?" Dad asks.
I think for a moment. "Well, I guess Ms. Sena was nice."
"Your stage two teacher? That's a good start."
"But stage two was when..." I trail off, stopping in the middle of the hall. I look down at the boxes in my hands as my mind threatens to take me to a place I don't want to return to.
"Kaylin," Dad says, turning around.
I look up at him. "Yes?"
"This world is full of things dangerous to humans. As long as we choose to live on Perthea, we accept that risk. What matters is how we choose to respond to that risk, and frankly," he says, "I believe we're too small to be afraid."
I don't want to argue, but I can't help but wonder what that's supposed to mean as I follow Dad into the apartment.

Moving to the freezer 🍁
Hello from Canada, where the weather is just as bipolar as Katy Perry's Hot 'n Cold song. In the past 3 days I have already seen people with hats, gloves, skirts, shorts, warm winter boots and slippers. Upon arriving it was 5 degrees Celsius and raining. Weather prediction for Friday is highs op 28 degrees. A lot to get used to.
A small side note, I will continue to use the superior metric and centigrade system as the Canadians apparently can't decide on which measurement system they prefer to use. Road distances are measured in kilometers, a door height in feet and inches. All weight is measured in pounds, but driving speed in kilometers per hour. Very confusing.
Last week Monday the movers arrived and cleared the house. This was a bit worrying as we lived in a furnished house, and thus had to make sure they would not take what did not belong to us. We briefly considered telling them to clear the house out, and losing our deposit. After all, our deposit was probably a 10th of the nice furniture in the house and it would solve us a lot of hassle of buying new stuff. Luckily all went well and we believe everything that should've stayed remained. Who knows, maybe in 2 months we will unwrap some surprise gifts from the 23 cubic meters, or is it 812 cubic foot 🤔...
So once the house was raided we got to stay in a hotel we could pick from a list provided by Naomi's work. Obviously, if such an opportunity arises you select the one for the coolest experience. We ended up staying in Hotel des Indes. While Naomi still had to work, I finished up the last jobs in NL and roamed around the old center of The Hague to soak it in one last time. Arguably, the best attribute of our hotel was that it was so close to Laura's work, which allowed me to meet up with her for lunch on multiple occasions.
Then Saturday came, and it was time for departure. It was great seeing Laura, Kevin and Lars come to the airport and wave us off. After some chats and tears, it was finally time to leave. The repatriation came with business class tickets, which is a game changer for long distance travelling in my opinion. Lounge access prior to departure with lots of free food! A seat that allows you the completely recline and stretch out! Proper cutlery 😱😱😱! Never did I think an upgrade would make such a difference. But I remain with both feet on the ground. This experience probably got me my one and only KLM house. Next time back it's back to peasant class.
Upon arrival Naomi's parents picked us up and drove us around to get groceries. A big thank you to them for all their help and starter care packages. Today we have finally settled in to our 40m2 (431 sq ft) apartment where we will stay till our shipment arrives, hopefully within the next 8-10 weeks. Location is superb, right in down town. It's a 10 minute walk away from Naomi's work, and about 20 minutes to the library where I will mostly likely spend my time the coming months preparing for the PCE exam. The picture below is from one of our walks, and reminds me of the beautiful nature this country has to offer. Rockies in the distance!

Rather Die | Chapter 7

————————————————————
After a long work week, it's finally the weekend. Victoria is back at the apartment she once shared with Eliana. She's finally moving out and moving in with Mila.
Ashton is at the apartment to be an extra hand to help Vic pack the rest of her stuff and to help the movers.
"So, this is really it, huh? You're moving out?" Eliana asks, sniffling.
"Yep. It's been the plan for like a couple weeks now." Victoria responds.
"So, you're not even going to give me a second chance? I thought we were just going to have a break & then be okay." Eliana starts whining with a fake cry.
"Eliana, seriously? Why would I give you a second chance? It sure as hell wasn't seeming like you wanted a second chance as you immediately hooked up with and started dating Austin after our fight and then was a complete total bitch to me on the set that you shouldn't have been on."
"I-I don't know. I'm sorry." she continues to fake cry.
"Oh my god, Eliana. Stop with the fake crying."
"I'm not faking it! I can't believe you're leaving me!'
"Well, believe it."
"I also can't believe you'd bring my ex here to help you! What kind of friend does that?!"
"Were not friends anymore, Eliana. But me & Ashton are, and I needed his help."
"Why? Because my replacement couldn't help you?"
"Mila?"
"Yeah." Eliana fake cries, again.
"Oh my god, will you just shut up? And no, Mila couldn't help me because she's making sure that everything is ready for me to move in, and she needs to be there when the movers get there."
Keeping up the act, "I can't believe you're replacing me!"
"Eliana, for the LOVE of God, please stop. I know you're just trying to manipulate me into feeling bad for you so I will apologize and for everything to be all dandy again, but it's not going to work."
Ashton steps in, "Yeah, quit the act, Eli. It's not going to work."
"Seriously. Take your fake ass crying to your boyfriend." Vic says.
"Fine. I will take my REAL TEARS to my boyfriend. The only person who cares about me, apparently."
Eliana storms out of the apartment.
"God, she's so dramatic." says Victoria.
"Legit. I don't even know how I dated her for so long." Ashton says. "But all your furniture is on the truck now. Just these boxes left?"
"Yep. Just packed the last one."
"Got it."
Victoria takes one last look around the room as the movers are taking out the last of her things. A tear falls from her eye, remembering all the good times that she had in this room. It's bittersweet, but it's what she needs to do.
She walks downstairs and gives the apartment one last glance. More tears shed from her eyes. Victoria removes her apartment key from her key ring that includes her car key, and a Los Angeles keychain Eliana got her years ago when they were still long distance. She removes the keychain as well and sets both down on the kitchen counter.
It's a painful thing for Victoria to do. She never thought she'd be leaving this apartment so soon. She never thought her best friend would ever do her so wrong.
Victoria takes a deep breath & reminds herself that everything happens for a reason, and that this will all be for the best.
She walks out of the apartment with her head held high, leaving the toxicity of that place and heads towards her fresh new start.
Thankfully, Mila's apartment is only a 10 minute drive & they can move everything in one go.
Ashton meets her at Mila's building to help carry in boxes as the movers bring in the furniture.
"Welcome to my little cozy casa, as I like to say!" Mila says opening the door for Vic & Ash.
"Hi! Thanks again for letting me live with you! Where should I put the boxes?" Victoria asks.
"You can set them in the living room for now, so they'll be out of the way for your furniture to be put in your room."
"Perfect."
Everyone continues to do their part of the moving in until everything was brought in.
"Well, that's the last of it. Want me to stick around to help you unpack?" Ashton asks Victoria.
"No, that's okay. I think Mila & I can handle it."
"Okay. Let me know if you need anything." Ash steps closer to Vic, looking at her lips and back into her eyes.
"Thanks, I-I will." Victoria notices his eye movements, and does the same to him.
Ashton goes in for it & kisses Victoria.
"I'm- I'm sorry. I shouldn't have." he says.
"No, it's okay. I, um, I didn't mind."
"Okay. Um, I'll see you later." he says as he starts to walk off.
"Wait, Ash?" Vic stops him. She kisses him this time before he leaves. "Thanks for letting me stay with you the past couple weeks. I really appreciated it."
"No problem, Vic. Anytime."
As soon as Ashton leaves, "You did not just kiss him!!" Mila says.
"I did. I have been kind of feeling things for him since spending more time together. Seems like he's feeling things too."
"You think he'll ask you out?"
"Maybe. Who knows."
"You're not just doing this to get back at Eliana, are you?"
"Noooo. I wouldn't. I'm not that petty like she is."
"Good, good."
"I just need her to stay the fuck away from me."
"Good luck with that. Hopefully Austin can keep her away from set."
"Right? I already hate the fact that I'm stuck doing this movie with him. I dont need to be seeing her there too."
"If it gets to really be a problem, talk to Anna & Sarah about it."
"Oh you know I will."
"So, I was thinking, we can get some unpacking done & then we can head to the grocery store, as I need to go shopping and I want you to be able to get stuff you'd like."
"Sounds like a plan."
The girls go into Victoria's room & start unpacking the boxes.
"Oh, what's this?" Mila picks up a book and something falls out if it. "Elvis movie premier ticket?"
"Oh, yeah. That's my journal slash diary. I save little memory things like that and add them to my journal entries. That must have not been taped in good enough. Honestly you can toss the ticket."
"Are you sure? I mean, I know you're mad at Austin but it's still a memory that youd look back on one day, ya know?"
"I'm sure. I don't need anything extra from that asshole."
"Alright."
Something in her gut was telling Mila to not toss it and to save it. She sneaked it into the back of the journal and continued to unpack things.
"I really should have gone through my clothes while I was packing to donate. I have so much." Victoria complains.
"Hey, I'll take donations." Mila says.
"Baby, your so little. I feel like my stuff might be too big."
"I may be little, but ya girl has tits. I think I could manage."
"Well, feel free to go through my pile of stuff I'm getting rid of. Whatever you don't take, I'll drop off to Salvation Army."
"Deal."
After they get a good majority of the boxes done, they headed off to the grocery store.
"How do you feel about bacon?" Victoria asks Mila.
"Love. It's so good." Mila responds.
"Thank god. I could never have it if Eliana was around. She would be like "Oh my god, ew. I can't believe you like it and smells so gross."
Before Mila could respond, "Talking shit about my girlfriend again, Vic?" Austin asks he runs into them.
"God, can I go anywhere with out you being there?" Victoria asks him.
"Guess not. Eliana came crying to me today because you were being a bitch to her."
"I wasn't. She was literally being an annoying, manipulative, whiny, drama queen. All like "I can't believe you're leaving me." She said in a mocking tone.
"Yeah, she thought you guys would make up."
"Yeah, no. That's not happening. You can deal with her now & all her neediness. Now if you'll excuse us, we have some shopping to do."
"Don't forget to get your chill pills." he says as walks away.
"My what??"
"You heard me!"
"He said chill pills right?" Vic confirms with Mila.
"Yeah. He did."
"He's so annoying, I swear to God. His girlfriend is the one who needs the chill pills."
"From what I've heard and seen on set, yeah."
The girls finish up their shopping trip & head back home.
By the time everything was done for the day, it was dinner time. They decided on a frozen California Kitchen pizza for dinner as they're both exhausted from a long day.
They get comfy in the living room with their pizza & turn on the TV.
"In other news, 'Elvis' star Austin Butler was seen having some major PDA with model, Eliana Hernandez. Seems like she has broken up with & moved on from lead singer of the band The Drivers, Ashton Pierce." the main guy from TMZ reports as soon as the TV is turned on.
"Can I catch a break?" Victoria complains.
"Want me to change it?" Mila asks.
"Please."
"What shows are you into?"
"Let's see, I love Friends, those sappy dramas on Freeform, umm what else..."
"I also love those. Wanna do Switched at Birth? Wait no, Austin's in that."
"Oh yeah. We can just do Friends."
"Perfect."
Later on that night, Victoria gets a text from Ashton.
"Hey! I really enjoyed those kisses earlier. Maybe we could do some more of that and go on a date?"

A not-so-simple relocation, day 2/3
Last time, we arrived safely in "Bergen?" as the sign at the airport says, much to my eternal delight. It was a long trip, made longer by airport and airplane screwups. I had three friends in tow and my partner waiting for me at the apartment. The rest of the day was basically for rest.
Day 2 - Why does everything have to be uphill?
Day 2 started by me realizing... I had very little clean clothing. In fact, I had no clean underwear, no clean pants, and only dress shirts clean and actually present. While the baggage handler at the Bergen airport said it would arrive the same day I did... Oslo never got their shit together on a Sunday and I had to make do for an unknown amount of time.
This day was marked by reconnaissance. I needed to learn more about my new apartment to figure out what is needed, figure out the Bergen bus system, figure out the grocery stores, and so on.
The apartment itself is... weird, to me. One of my friends described it as the set to a cocaine druglord's apartment and... yeah, that matches. The view is breathtakingly gorgeous, the decor is super bright and white, and it seems to be missing a few things that don't really make a lot of sense.
Like a freezer.
Or a washing machine.
Or pillows (plural - it had one).
So, that means heading out of the house being super uncomfortable in my clothing, exhausted from the trip, and dealing with a recurring gout attack (along with other physical ailments that are a bit too gross to state). Four of us went - my partner, two of our friends, and myself, with the last friend staying behind with the cats.
A brief aside, at this point Zoan was still hiding in the master bedroom. Issun had started exploring.
Now, keep in mind - I had been exploring Google Maps around my apartment for a while. The apartment itself is very new, so most of the maps just show a hole in the ground where it is, with a couple of angles showing the buildings under construction. I had never been to the apartment and hadn't even been in this region of Bergen before. So all I really had to go on were photos of the area, which looked quite nice.
The apartment is about fifteen minutes by foot away from the closest bus stop, which happens to be right next to the two local grocery stores. A fifteen minute walk for me is pretty easy, even in my gout-addled state. I absent-minded pace for longer distances than that.
A fifteen minute walk where the entire walk is uphill for 52 meters / 170 feet? That's just a bit rougher. My legs were screaming at me at the 1/4th point, let alone for the rest of the walk. The object of this trip was to go to the mall a couple of bus stops away, buy some pillows and plug adapters*, get some lunch, come back, stop by the grocery store, then head home.
Did you see that asterisk? I had prepped for this well in advance - the price difference between buying a plug adapter in the US and buying one in Norway was huge, so I bought a large 12-pack of them to supplement the three I already had. Problem being, I think the movers packed it up for the slow boat shipment, so I had nothing.
Anyway, after a grueling 20 minute walk (because I kept needing to stop; how the hell people think walking uphill is anywhere near as easy as walking long distances, I haven't a clue), made it to the bus, head out for our shopping. We needed to make it back by the delivery window for @kriatyrr's delivery of some much needed supplies (such as more power cords).
Made it back to the apartment. We had to go out and back a second time for some food, which involved me whining the entire way of course, made it back... to find a courier dropping off all of my luggage. Everything arrived! HOORAY!
Kriatyrr's packages, however, didn't arrive during the delivery window. Turns out, they were stuck in Oslo due to delays on a Sunday. Remember that quote from earlier from the baggage handler, "Oslo needs to get their shit together on Sundays"?
Day 3 - Bus adventures
Day 3 is the first day that I specifically had something I had to do - I had a meeting with the Norwegian police. As an incoming immigrant to Norway, one of the requirements was a police interview. They want to meet you in person to take photos, fingerprints, and presumably ensure you're actually real. I had scheduled this a few weeks in advance, with the idea that I should be (mostly) on a normal sleep schedule by Day 3.
The interview location was in Fyllingsdalen, a separate borough from both downtown Bergen and the borough I live in. Technically it is one of the two in between, but due to geography I actually travel through Årstad to downtown Bergen (Bergen-hus) first before basically turning around, going back through Årstad and finally to Fyllingsdalen. This sounds way more complicated than it is; I'm already used to Madison buses where I had to circle my own neighborhood before I arrive at the closest stop to my house; this at least makes sense due to mountains being in the way.
I used the bus a bit the prior day, but this was my first real bus trip.
Transit side-note
Transit in Bergen is controlled primarily through a smartphone app. You buy the ticket on the app before you board and it is good for 90 minutes after. Buses are on the testing system; 99% of the time it is on the honor system with no one checking, 1% of the time they inspect for bus passes and give you large fines for skipping the pass. While I haven't seen anyone checking in Bergen so far, I have seen the same thing in Oslo during a visit.
Bus passes cost 40kr for a trip, 105kr for a day, 235kr for a week, 755kr for a month, and 3775kr for a half-year. In USD at the time of this posting, that's $3.60 / $9.44 / $21.13 / $67.90 / $339.48 for each of those passes. I budgeted assuming those half-year passes, but I haven't bothered with one yet. Once I'm more in the swing of things, I'll figure out how I want to handle bus passes. It also technically includes a parking pass (for those that park-and-ride), but since I don't drive that part is irrelevant to me. Bergen also has light rail (same bus pass system), but the area I live in isn't convenient to use the light rail for.
Buses come frequently by the bus stop next to the grocery store. That stop has seven bus routes stopping there, three routes going from the mall (mentioned the previous day) to the Bergen bus station. The result is that I have service roughly every 5-10 minutes during weekdays, 15 minutes on Saturdays, 30 minutes on Sundays (not that the latter matters... insert ominous foreshadowing here).
In my mind, anything going every fifteen minutes or sooner is, "just get to the bus". Anything 30 minutes or later is, "schedule your trip to make sure you don't miss the bus". It is a huge difference in mentalities, and I repeatedly lambasted Madison for depriving my old neighborhood of enough bus service to fulfill the former. If I missed a bus there, I'm an hour or two late, and taking a bus early means arriving an hour or two early. Whereas arriving at the previous bus here puts me around ten minutes earlier than expected.
Side-note over, back to the day
Anyway, our group decide on a trip that morning. Myself and my partner heading to Fyllingsdalen, two of our friends heading to Bergen-hus for some exploration, the last friend staying at home again. We'd all get off the bus at the same spot and split up from there - us to the bus transfer, them to wandering. Our stop in Fyllingsdalen was just a few stops down another bus route and would take a total of 45 minutes to get there (including the 15 minute walk uphill, which took me 23 minutes this time).
Kriatyrr and I arrived at the police station around ten minutes early... and left before the scheduled appointment time. Turns out, they really did just need to take a photo, get my fingerprints, and ask me for my address and signature. There was nothing else. After that, we spent time shopping for some housewares. I get a text from my friends mentioning that they were going to head back at this point. We decide to try to grab food (and failing - seriously, why do restaurants open so late around here, don't people eat lunch?) before heading back.
We arrived at the bus, took it down one stop, and saw our friends there, who had accidentally taken the wrong bus and just so happened to turn around and take our bus back. We made it back, rested, then head out to the mall again to buy more things. This time it was myself, the friend that kept staying at home, and the friend that kept heading out with me; Kriatyrr stayed home waiting on that package from the previous day.
This part was fairly uneventful except for one small thing. To explain that, I need to explain international banking. I'm absolutely going to put this in a video when I started recording these.
Credit Card side-note
You know how credit/debit card usage in the US requires you to occasionally sign a piece of paper, but otherwise seems super duper insecure? Yeah, the entire rest of the world thinks so as well. The chip located on a credit card is a part of a system used by EMV cards to increase security. The US migrated to it back in October of 2015, doing away with swipe-based transactions (more that the CC companies shifted fraud liability to any merchant using a swipe, and they're not going to want to deal with that).
In Europe? The same shift happened in 1993.
EMV cards are a part of a chip-and-PIN system; basically, you stick your chip into the terminal, put in a PIN, and that authorizes the transaction. It follows two-factor security, basically, as it contains something you have (the card with the chip) and something you know (your PIN) for authorization. In the US, debit cards use the same mechanism now at an ATM or a terminal supporting debit.
The US uses chip-and-signature for credit cards (as well as debit cards being used as a credit card). This is... definitely not two-factor. It combines something you have (the card with the chip) and... something no one bothers to even look at (the signature). That's one-factor, just like the strip. Europeans have been endlessly baffled when I mention this to them, and for good reason - this system is awful and useless.
Tapping to pay for things with your credit card effectively works the same way as the chip-and-signature system, only it works for values under a certain amount. Even Europe does that one, they just keep the limits super low so liability isn't really a big deal.
Unfortunately for us, this system follows us wherever we go. If you use a US credit card in Norway, for instance, sometimes the receipt will print out a slip that you have to sign. If the person at the register doesn't realize this, it'll look like a receipt and send you on your way... which is a problem, as that means you haven't technically paid for your goods.
Trouble in Clas Ohlson
Which leads me to my situation. I was at a shop called Clas Ohlson - a Swedish-based chain of general stores. For a comparison point to us Americans, I'd call it like a hybrid of Home Depot and Best Buy, but far smaller. You want to go to one store to buy food containers, socks, power cords, hand tools, a tablet PC, and a printer? Clas Ohlson to the rescue.
I had a bunch of things I was picking up, went through the store, tapped to pay my bill for a couple thousand kroner / couple hundred dollars, was handed the receipt, and walked out.
The person at the cash register looked down, realized that the register said the transaction was still waiting, and booked it to chase after me.
This one mistake took an hour to fix.
This is what life will be like for me for the foreseeable future, as not only can I not get a Norwegian credit card until two years after I have a Norwegian bank account, but I can't even get a Norwegian bank account at the moment until I receive my national ID (which was what the police started the process for).
Welcome to Norway!

A Comprehensive Guide to Selecting the Right Moving Company in Stamford, CT
Living in a city like Stamford, CT, known for its low crime rates, beautiful waterfront, and a blend of urban and suburban charm, is a dream for many. Families and professionals flock here for the lifestyle benefits, but moving to a new city comes with its challenges. If you’re planning a move to Stamford, finding the right moving company can make the transition smoother and stress-free.
Moving involves a lot of planning and, without the help of a reliable moving company, it can be overwhelming. Here’s how to choose the best moving company in Stamford, CT:
1. Understand Your Relocation Needs First, identify the details of your move. Consider the type of items you need to move—furniture, electronics, fragile items, or even pets. Do you need help with packing, transportation, or storage? Outline your budget, timeline, and distance requirements. This initial planning will allow you to choose a company that meets your specific needs and avoids last-minute hassles.
2. Research Moving Companies in Stamford, CT After determining your needs, start researching moving companies. Online directories, customer reviews, and testimonials can provide valuable insights into a mover’s reputation. Don’t hesitate to ask friends or family for recommendations. Remember to look for companies with strong online presences, detailed reviews, and client feedback. This will help you make an informed decision.
3. Gather Multiple Quotes Getting quotes from several companies is essential. Approach 3-4 movers and request a detailed breakdown of their fees. Compare the costs for packing, transportation, insurance, and other services. This will allow you to find the best value for your money. Avoid companies that give vague estimates, as this can lead to unexpected fees later on.
4. Verify the Mover’s Credentials A legitimate moving company should be licensed for interstate and intrastate moves. Ask for the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) number and check their licensing. Ensure that the company is fully licensed and insured to protect your belongings throughout the journey.
5. Look Out for Red Flags Beware of companies that require large upfront deposits or have no physical address or online presence. Reputable movers are transparent about their processes and fees. Avoid movers who ask you to sign blank contracts or use multiple names, as these could be signs of a scam. Always sign contracts that clearly outline terms, moving items, fees, and other important details.
Hiring a trustworthy moving company in Stamford, CT, can alleviate much of the stress involved in relocating. With these tips, you’ll be able to choose reliable movers who understand your needs and ensure a smooth move to your new home. Top Questions to Ask Before Hiring Residential Movers
When it comes to relocating, hiring the right residential movers can make all the difference. A reliable moving company can ease the stress of moving day, ensuring your belongings arrive safely at your new home. If you're considering using Vision Movers, a trusted name among Fort Lauderdale movers, here are the top questions to ask before making your decision.
1. Are You Licensed and Insured?
The first question to ask any moving company in Fort Lauderdale is whether they are licensed and insured. A reputable moving company will provide proof of their license and insurance. This not only protects you in case of an accident but also ensures that you’re dealing with a legitimate business.
2. What Services Do You Offer?
Different local movers offer various services. Inquire about the specific services provided by Vision Movers. Do they offer packing and unpacking, furniture disassembly and reassembly, or storage solutions? Understanding what services are available can help you determine if they meet your needs.
3. How Do You Charge for Your Services?
Understanding the pricing structure is essential. Ask Vision Movers if they charge a flat rate or if the cost is based on an hourly rate. Additionally, inquire about any extra fees that might arise, such as fuel surcharges or charges for heavy items. This clarity will help you budget effectively for your move.
4. Can You Provide References or Reviews?
One of the best ways to gauge the quality of service is to check customer reviews and testimonials. Ask if Vision Movers can provide references from previous clients. This feedback will give you insight into their reputation and reliability among movers near me.
5. What Is Your Cancellation Policy?
Life can be unpredictable, and plans may change. Inquire about the cancellation policy to understand what happens if you need to change your moving date or cancel altogether. Knowing this in advance can save you potential headaches later.
6. How Do You Handle Fragile Items?
When moving, ensuring the safety of your belongings, especially fragile items, is a top priority. Ask how Vision Movers handles delicate and valuable items. Do they use special packing materials or techniques? This information is crucial for peace of mind during your move.
7. Do You Have Experience with Moves Like Mine?
If you have unique needs, such as moving a piano or dealing with a long-distance move, make sure to ask if the moving company has experience with similar situations. Vision Movers should be able to demonstrate their expertise in handling your specific type of move.
8. What Is the Estimated Timeline for My Move?
Understanding the timeline for your move can help you plan accordingly. Ask about the estimated time it will take for Vision Movers to complete the job, including loading, transportation, and unloading. This information will help you coordinate your schedule and prepare for the move.
9. How Do You Ensure the Safety of My Belongings?
Inquire about the safety protocols Vision Movers has in place to protect your belongings during the move. What measures do they take to prevent damage? Knowing their procedures can provide reassurance that your items will be handled with care.
10. Are There Any Additional Fees I Should Know About?
Finally, be sure to ask about any potential additional fees. Some local movers might charge extra for specific services or conditions, such as navigating stairs or providing last-minute moves. Getting a full understanding of all costs involved will help avoid surprises on moving day.
Conclusion
Choosing the right movers for your residential move is a crucial step toward ensuring a smooth transition. By asking these key questions, you can confidently select a reliable moving company that meets your needs. Why Is Local Moving in Alpharetta a Good Choice
Moving is often seen as a daunting process, filled with tasks that can feel overwhelming. For residents in Alpharetta, Georgia, however, the option of local moving can make all the difference. With its focus on community and convenience, local moving brings a range of advantages that longer-distance moves simply can't offer. When you work with a trusted moving company like Stuart & Sons Moving, the process becomes not only manageable but smooth and efficient. Here, we’ll explore why choosing local moving in Alpharetta is a good choice and what benefits you can expect from this approach.
Benefits of Choosing Local Moving in Alpharetta
Personalized Service and Local Expertise : Unlike larger moving companies that cover multiple states or regions, a local mover like Stuart & Sons Moving knows Alpharetta and the surrounding areas inside and out. This knowledge means they can help you plan your move around the best routes, local ordinances, and traffic patterns to minimize delays. With a team familiar with the community, you can enjoy a smoother move that addresses local nuances and preferences.
Cost-Effectiveness : Choosing local moving in Alpharetta often means reduced costs. Long-distance moves tend to incur higher charges due to fuel, mileage, and increased labor. By keeping your move within a smaller radius, local movers like Stuart & Sons Moving can offer competitive pricing. For families and businesses alike, this can lead to substantial savings, which can be used to set up your new space or invest in the local community.
Flexibility and Availability : Planning a long-distance move requires booking far in advance, but local movers tend to have more flexibility. Stuart & Sons Moving is well-known for accommodating schedules with shorter notice periods, a benefit that’s particularly helpful for last-minute moves. With more availability and flexible scheduling, local moving provides an ease that is unmatched by larger, national companies.
Reduced Stress and Simpler Logistics : With Stuart & Sons Moving, you’re working with a team dedicated to Alpharetta residents, which reduces the complexity of logistics significantly. When moving locally, there’s less worry about coordinating long hauls, stopping for overnight stays, or managing inter-state requirements. Local moving Alpharetta is designed to minimize these hassles, meaning fewer details to worry about and a quicker, smoother relocation experience.
Environmentally Friendly : Moving locally is also a more eco-friendly choice. Long-distance moves involve extensive travel, which means more fuel consumption and a greater carbon footprint. With local moves, companies like Stuart & Sons Moving can plan shorter, optimized routes that reduce emissions, making it a great choice for environmentally conscious clients.
Support from a Community-Focused Business : When you choose a business like Stuart & Sons Moving, you’re supporting a company that understands the community values of Alpharetta. They’re invested in providing quality service to local customers and often rely on local word-of-mouth and reviews. This community-oriented approach means you’re not only getting a dedicated team but also supporting local business growth, which contributes to the area’s economy.
Conclusion: Local Moving in Alpharetta with Stuart & Sons Moving
In Alpharetta, moving locally has a host of benefits that range from financial savings to personalized service and reduced environmental impact. With Stuart & Sons Moving, residents can experience a streamlined, reliable moving process tailored specifically to the needs of Alpharetta and its surrounding areas. Trusted Tauranga Movers for a Swift House Relocation
Moving house can be both exciting and stressful. Whether you're upgrading to a bigger space, downsizing, or just moving to a new area, it's a process that requires planning, efficiency, and trusted professionals to help you get the job done smoothly. If you're looking for House Movers Tauranga to assist in your relocation, this guide will walk you through how to find reliable movers that ensure a swift and stress-free move.
Why Choosing the Right House Movers in Tauranga Matters
Relocating is more than just packing and transporting boxes. It involves handling furniture, fragile items, and valuables with care, while also sticking to a schedule. Hiring the right movers can make the difference between a chaotic move and one that is smooth and efficient.
What to Look for in Tauranga Movers
To ensure a seamless relocation, you need to consider a few essential qualities when hiring movers:
Reputation: Check reviews and testimonials.
Professionalism: Are they punctual, well-equipped, and experienced?
Affordability: Ensure pricing is transparent without hidden fees.
Flexibility: Can they cater to specific needs like long-distance or same-day moves?
How to Ensure a Swift House Relocation in Tauranga
Relocation can become overwhelming if not planned well. Here's how trusted House Movers Tauranga make the difference:
1. Pre-Move Planning
Trusted movers will help you create a plan that covers everything from packing schedules to the best moving day. They’ll guide you on what to pack early and which items need special care, ensuring nothing is left to the last minute.
2. Packing Services
Efficient packing is a major component of a smooth move. Professional movers provide packing services to ensure that your belongings are safely stored. From fragile items like glassware to heavy furniture, they take care of it all.
3. Transportation
One of the biggest headaches in a house move is transportation. Trusted movers in Tauranga ensure that your items are securely loaded and transported. Whether you're moving locally or across regions, movers with a reliable fleet can ensure that everything arrives safely and on time.
Benefits of Hiring Professional House Movers in Tauranga
Opting for professional movers instead of attempting a DIY move has numerous benefits:
1. Saves Time and Effort
Packing and moving are time-consuming. Professionals handle the packing, lifting, and transporting so that you can focus on other important tasks.
2. Avoid Damage
One of the biggest risks in moving is damaging your belongings. Hiring skilled House Movers Tauranga ensures that your items are packed securely and transported with care, avoiding any accidental damage.
3. Local Knowledge
Professional movers in Tauranga know the best routes, parking restrictions, and local regulations. This knowledge helps them avoid any delays and makes your move smoother.
Tips for a Smooth Moving Day
1. Label Your Boxes
Clearly label all your boxes with the room they belong to and whether they contain fragile items. This helps movers know where to place things and handle them with extra care.
2. Create a Moving Checklist
Before moving day, create a checklist of all the items you want to be moved. This ensures that nothing is forgotten and helps the movers stay organised.
3. Confirm the Schedule
Ensure that you and the moving company are on the same page when it comes to the moving schedule. Confirm arrival times and ensure that everything is packed and ready to go on the day of the move.
Avoiding Common Moving Mistakes
Even with professional movers, it's easy to overlook certain things. Here’s how to avoid common pitfalls:
1. Declutter Before Packing
Moving is the perfect time to declutter. Get rid of unnecessary items before the movers arrive to save time and reduce costs.
2. Pack Essential Items Separately
Make sure to pack essential items like toiletries, chargers, and important documents in a separate bag. You’ll need access to these immediately, and they shouldn’t get lost in the move.
3. Confirm Your New Address with Movers
Double-check that the movers have the correct address for your new home. It may seem obvious, but errors in addresses can lead to significant delays.
Choosing the Best Moving Day
Not all days are created equal when it comes to moving. Mid-week moves often offer more availability and lower rates. Avoid moving during peak times like weekends or the end of the month when movers are often booked.
The Cost of House Movers in Tauranga
Moving can be expensive, but it's an investment in ensuring that your belongings are moved safely and efficiently. Trusted movers offer transparent pricing based on factors such as:
Distance of the Move: Local moves are generally cheaper than long-distance ones.
Size of the Move: Larger homes with more items will naturally cost more to move.
Additional Services: Packing, unpacking, and storage options come with added fees.
How to Get the Best Moving Quote in Tauranga
Most House Movers Tauranga offer free quotes. To get the most accurate estimate, be clear about your needs, such as the number of rooms, specific services (like packing or storage), and any heavy or delicate items.
What to Expect on Moving Day
Professional movers will arrive on time, with the necessary equipment, such as trolleys and blankets, to protect your belongings. Expect them to handle everything, from packing the last few items to loading and unloading at your new location.
Post-Move Unpacking and Settling In
After the move, professional movers can assist with unpacking services. This can be especially useful if you have a tight schedule. The quicker you unpack, the quicker you’ll feel settled in your new home.
Conclusion: Why Trust Tauranga Movers for a Stress-Free Relocation
Moving doesn’t have to be stressful when you have the right professionals on your side. Trusted House Movers Tauranga will handle your relocation with care, speed, and efficiency, allowing you to settle into your new home with ease. By choosing movers with a strong reputation, local knowledge, and transparent pricing, you can focus on the excitement of your new space rather than the challenges of moving.
