Shadow lamp based on folk motifs of Bulgarian embroidery, 2016. [Edit, sketches and more on process in post here. Questions welcome :)]

I was cleaning out my drive and found some photos of a laser cutting project I worked on some years ago. The lamp is based on "shevitsi" (types of Bulgarian embroidery used in traditional textiles and our national dress) from different folklore regions of Bulgaria. I'll make another post to share sketchbook stuff once I find it but below is a shot of the laser doing tests with acrylic and MDF. The final lamp was made out of plywood and put together by hand.

Just occured to me that tumblr might enjoy seeing the lampshade I made recently

First I designed it in fusion, and exported each disc seperately, combined it in inkscape, and lasercut them. The mount is two 3d printed pieces, screwed together.
