We had to move larger specimens in our zoology collection, so we used rolling wedges (also called tri-dollies) that are typically used for moving furniture and appliances. We inserted pieces of wood into the bases and fixed the extremities to the wedges. This was enough to easily move the large and heavy specimens.

American artist KAWS has installed one of his iconic characters in yet another scenic setting as part of the KAWS:HOLIDAY journey. Large-scale sculptures of his characters have already traveled to cities like Hong Kong, Melbourne, Singapore, and Bristol. But now, KAWS has conquered a UNESCO World Heritage Site with his installation at Indonesia's Prambanan Temple.

Maybe not so seasonal lol, but I put up my dandelion for yule. It's a bit too large and prone to gathering dust to keep out all the time but I thought it could bring a bit of joy and memory of sunshine to the solstice.

Huge Low Poly Art Sculptures And Installations By David Mesguich
David Mesguich, a street artist and globetrotter, makes large installations that leaves where everyone can see them, in the public spaces of countries like France, Belgium and Poland.
Huge installations that are designed to shake the social consciousness, as in the case of his latest project “Stateless“, a series where the protagonists are migrants who fight against the borders and the Holy Europe watching from the sideline.

¹ i have mentioned this before but to recap: we have buried a lot of our pets in our backyard but they only have wooden signs with faded paint designating them lol So i want to use my clay to give them gravestones where i would engrave their information, use flower language to represent each pet, and also portray the pet itself. these would be flat slabs (aside from the sculptures if i go that route)
#to clarify this is actual clay that i would fire and seal not the air dry clay i have used in the past#personal#polls#the art chronicles#cw animal death#things to consider:#sculptures would be more enjoyable but also at more risk of damage than just a straight flat slab#ex. if someone steps on or kicks them 💀#this goes doubly for flowers as they would be smaller and thinner than the pet#i am not rlly concerned abt the pet figures in that regard they would be large enough that if anything did happen it could be#repaired easily enough i think#also to consider: just flat stone with engravings only would be more in line with a typical gravestone#also also to consider: despite this i really like sculpting animals lmao
