hihi this isnt particularly nsfs but i think its only been discussed on this blog, but im still absolutely enamoured with transfem/multigender logan she means the world to me. there is something about transitioning whilst in a relationship and receiving nothing but unconditional love and acceptance in response that is so good, both just with virgil through like the earlier stages of discovery and then in the afterlife coming out to patton and roman after going through the exploration stages and just knowing her identity... so good (also also in love with wife guy roman, he sees logan and thomas hanging out one time and is like "oh thomas! i see youve met... my wife!", thomas: "yes actually your wife has been my sister her entire life...")

Update on Orange Poll Dress and Roman's Casual Look Mini project

Just a quick update for you all about how these projects have been progressing, plus a sneak peak on the next dress I want to make.

On both of these projects: I am heading back to school this week, and classes start next week, so they're on hold until I can get adjusted to the new schedule. Shouldn't take too long, but you should expect to hear about the Roman mini project before the poll dress.

Orange Poll Dress

So, this dress has had the least amount of progress since I last posted about fabric scavenging on 12/24. I haven't had the time to go and get some fresh fabrics, and the fabrics I have were really leaving me... uninspired. You'd think that a dress which I had other people pick out all the design elements for would be easy to make, but, uh... not really, unfortunately. I'm working on it!

It's on pause until I can go to a fabric store with some friends to get properly re-inspired and get a good idea going! I'm hoping to give you an update on it in the next month (so, mid February).

Roman's Causal Look Mini project

Okay, on the list of things to do for this project now includes getting a proper master post up, haha.

This outfit has a few elements that still need completion.

The jacket is done!

I started making a corset top via the 'wrap yourself in plastic and duct tape to make a pattern' method and it didn't go very well, so I'm scrapping that to try something else. The top still needs some editing.

I found a cool mesh shirt with floral patterns I'm going to use as an undershirt, though!

The skirt looks awesome and just needs to have an elastic waist put in, and then it'll be good to go.

I have the coolest boots for the outfit and I'm so pleased.

So, in short, I have minor adjustments to make on the skirt and a corset-inspired blouse to make, and then it'll be ready. I also have a tiara I've been wanting an excuse to wear so this'll be great.

My goal is to complete this cosplay by the end of February.

Upcoming project

Spring is coming! The next dress I make I am very excited for. It's going to be a sundress for Emile Picani, based on the fanfiction Love And Other Fairy Tales, mostly because I want a sundress I can wear. My goal is to make it in the month of March so it's ready for springtime in the mountains.

(No one say anything about Patton's wedding dress from LAOFT it's in a bag in the back of my closet begging me to work on it I'll get to it eventually I promise)

HELL YEAH i love the divine right of kings (obviously conceptually and not practically, im not a monarchist (sorry laoft virgil /j)) its so fun that thats incorporated into the religion of the verse

does the different soulmate in every life cause any angst or are they all chill since theyre raised with that belief? i feel that could make you really sad if youre monogomous, the idea youll be reincarnated and your soulmate wont be the person you love now

i feel like patton and virgil probably dont think of it like that because the idea is that your Soul, the thing that gets reincarnated, is extremely nonhuman - thats why it can be a plant or a bug etc. its not ConsciousnessTM, or really person-like in any way its more like a spark, or i guess a Really Important Battery that powers it

Virgil and Patton wouldnt be sad about not being with their partners in the next life because they would not really conceptualize that future-human-self as themself, anymore than they would be angry about their partner like.... not being romantically in love with the bush they planted on the grave, for example. 'that came from me but that doesnt make it me"

The Fitzboys and Janus, on the other hand, would be very upset by the idea and probably dont like to think about it much. and one of the minority religions ive been working on also does reincarnation but does view soulmates as paired across incarnations, and so we'll get to explore that then

the thing about laoft prinxiety is that they are by far the most impulsive pair within LAMP so if theres going to be an irresponsible sexcapade its probably them

so i have to believe in my heart of hearts that at some point Roman horny-tom-catted his way into roleplaying that he's a fae hunter who tied virgil up with his own silk so virgil can break free and ravish him and virgil being mid-sex and drunk on bussy went along with it

only for Patton and Logan to find them an hour later stewing in embarrassment while virgil's sisters try to pick him out of the situation he's gotten himself in

and i also have to believe that this has happened at least twice

Ok, I know everyone and their mom has read “love an other fairytales” and if you haven’t WHAT ARE YOU DOING ITS AMAZING. Anyway, I finished the main storyline ages ago and never got around to drawing them good good boys. So I have rectified the situation and drawn them boys. At some point perhaps I should draw the other characters as well but not today. Anyway go check out “love and other fairytales” by @tulipscomeinallsortsofcolors​ its really good, and because I'm a big nerd I'm actually going to put a cut so I can gush about it

ok, I read the main storyline over the summer and honestly, it was better than most novels I've read, especially in regard to the fae lore. most stories I've read with fae characters quickly seem to forget their own rules and the fae end up feeling like human characters with funky magic. NOT LAOFT, there has to be like 200 some odd different AO3 stories in the full thing and it is nothing if not consistent with its own lore. 

further, I absolutely love Wickhill, it reminds me of my own hometown, small and weird. it has a certain energy that is completely true to actually living in a small town, everyone is aware the town is weird, no one really speaks about it, life moves on and you pretend that everything is normal. its amazing to see that portrayed so well, it fills me with life.

now that that's out of my system, sorry if I fudged details on what the characters look like, I really don't remember like half of their full descriptions, so I filled in the blanks. I always imagined Patton was short and chubby and cute: and I tried to keep a relatively small town “I found this at a thrift store/Walmart twelve years ago” vibe to the clothes. I also may or may not have thrown make-up on roman completely unprompted but whatever he deserves it.  

I've continued to read the extras and I want to draw Remy, Linnie, Remus, and Emile next, though with my track record, it may take me another year...
