Here’s my Ace Attorney Hot Take: Miles, Phoenix, Gumshoe, Larry, and Lang are all in a relationship. there’s no “he is dating this one but not that one” No. It is all 5 of them, and yes they have all had people try to break the unfortunate news to them that they are being cheated on. (Most amusing was when someone tried to tell Phoenix that Miles was cheating on him with Gumshoe, but Gumshoe interrupted to drop off a file to Phoenix and they kissed before Gumshoe left and the one trying to break the news was like “…what?”). but no they all communicate and love each other, and that is never more evident than when Larry interrupts an investigation because “No, You are taking a break for lunch, no arguments.”

i feel like lang was definitely very much an Awakening for edgeworth probably cuz like. just the way that lang speaks to him. if you've played the investigations duology you know exactly what i'm talking about. and also i personally see phoenix and edgeworth only finally getting together around the aa5/6 era so in my brain they aren't together yet during the investigations games so i feel like the latter scenario fits better in my brain.

a take i have seen that i think is pretty funny though is having lang and phoenix get together first and then having edgeworth be like "wait what the fuck no fair" fhdfnd

"... I didn't." Lang growls, actually pissed now. "The truth, Hotshot. Earlier you said-" "That I presented it, yeah." "This better as hell not be one of those lawyer technicalities, since someone else made it." Phoenix shakes his head. "You don't have to believe me, but I am telling the truth." "So, you're suggesting that you didn't know it was forged." Phoenix smirks, his head inclined so that his beanie hid his eyes. "Does it matter if I didn't?" "What? Of course it-" Phoenix snorts, shoulders shaking in silent laughter. Lang frowns, staring at him. "Something funny?" "Agent Lang," the man starts in a tone that make Lang's stomach turn. "You're contradicting yourself. Earlier, you said that my actions on the case were your responsibility because you brought me along, even though you didn't know about my reputation and past beforehand." "... I did, so what?" "Shouldn’t that also apply to an attorney about the evidence they present?" He lifts his head, but doesn't meet Lang's eyes. "I brought that evidence to the court. Whether or not I knew it was forged... I should have. That was my responsibility. That's what I'm paying the consequences for."

I was gonna make a post about how we don't have enough situationally funny wlw aa ships à la langwright and wrightdot, but I think fradrian is kind of funny actually. not only in the "i'm gonna start thinking for myself, and to begin that journey, i will latch on to the most domineering woman i've ever met" sense that the game presents but also in the "ah yes. the sister of the man who told me i should go ahead and kill myself in court is my perfect match for sure" sense.

Back at it again with another hilarious concept this time it’s a year or two into Phoenix and Miles dating and they’re going strong it’s great they love each other they couldn’t be happier but they’re still in that phase where there is so much they’re still learning about each other and so Miles is like oh! Agent Lang is in town for a case I guess I should introduce him to my boyfriend aka “That Man” and he’ll have a time of it and Miles invites Lang to go out to dinner with him and his boyfriend so they can catch up and he can introduce them and of course he agrees because Miles is a dear friend and he wants to meet the people important to him. When they arrive at dinner Miles starts to introduce the two but uh oh why are both Phoenix and Lang beet red and why are they addressing each other by name before they’ve even been introduced. Well turns out Phoenix and Lang briefly dated while Lang was studying legal systems in the states and they are exes who never really spoke to each other after their break up and Edgeworth is just learning about it. Hilarity ensues as the most awkward dinner ever happens and Edgeworth is dying inside and also somehow feels like a third wheel even though it’s literally just Phoenix and Lang catching up
