Ursula K. Le Guin is really nailing it for me with her snow descriptions — "pale darkness of snowfall" and "the bitter wind that was filled with a glittering dust of dry snow."

on my knees begging and crying people to try out FE hacks and fangames. it's such a vibrant community and people are making so much cool shit that should get 10x the attention it does. there's your gritty political tale about a veteran army captain who turns traitor to bring her squad home, also she's so incredibly gay. there's also a game about d&d style adventurers, featuring a playable chicken, a pirate who can summon a landboat, and iosaf, the best cyclops around. there's a fangame set in a full-dive mmorpg featuring gamers and a catgirl streamer.
the current community hack is set on an archipelago of floating islands, and it's about a merchant lady who decides to become a sky pirate and search for the legendary treasure, the fire emblem.

Chairs and Wagon continued!
Part 5 of GTWS prop explorations. More details below.
Image 1 Left to Right
Season 8 early Swaggon design. I imagine it started closer to a wagon and became more steampunk over the course of the season.
Season 8 blimp wheelchair. Has a jukebox and oxygen converter build into its back which Scar can control from his armrest, as well as direct the blimp.
Image 2 Left to Right
Double Life bamboo wheelchair. Very similar in shape and construction to a modern wheelchair, but due to the limited time and resources of the Life Series, the frame is made from bamboo. Its got a basket on the back for supplies and Jellie!
Season 5 & 6 Landboat. Season 8 Lanbo’s progenitor. Land and sea worthy (barely). Features a jib, storage compartments, and a crows-nest for Jellie to nap, I mean, keep watch in.
Season 9 Elven wheelchair. The gold patterns on the wheels are painted on. Features a hook to hang supplies or lights, such as the froglight pictured.

January 9th 2022
Today was a rather long one and my last day off. Even now as I am writing this I am Exhausted and would honestly rather sleep than to write it, but I know myself too well and know that if I miss a day it will be all the easier next time to miss another and another and before too long I won’t be writing at all. That is something that I very much am wanting to avoid so here I am again. Striking key and trying to put the day into words.
I was able to sleep in a bit today awakening to my Dear Marisella beside me. The morning was cold and she was warm and such a combination making it rather difficult to rise from bed. I peaked my head out of bed and checked  on young Christopher who had fallen asleep with his headphones on and his phone still playing something or another but at this point he was still fast asleep. Since Marisella and I had nowhere to be and in no hurry this day I lay my head back on my pillow and drifted off into a light sleep for a while longer.
Not much longer I rose in earnest and after discussing the days plans with Marisella we decided that we were indeed very hungry and in need of food. Most of the ingredients for breakfast were already in her apartment and we only needed a few. So I dressed and rushed to get the Pelican ready for travel and soon we were off. The first stop was the Convenient store to acquire tobacco and after accomplishing that the General store for our missing ingredients and after finishing those tasks back to her apartment it was to prepare the days breakfast.
I prepared a meal of chorizo egg and potatoes in the form of breakfast burritos and as I cooked Marisella, the kids, and I enjoyed each others company and joked and laughed in the kitchen together. Its worth noting that sometimes the most mundane of activities like cooking breakfast can make some of the best memories when done with a light heart and the right people. This breakfast was one of those times indeed and warms my heart even thinking about it now as I write.
Breakfast went over well with everybody and after we all had eaten I sat down with my laptop and began to once again work on my self imposed task of being successful with my affiliate marketing. I am seeing some sucess in a way and getting people to click my links though I have as yet to make a sale but being that I have not even been at this a week yet my spirits are still high.
After a few hours of this it was time for another task to be completed that of grocery shopping. I am begining to realize that life has for me become a series of tasks to be completed and upon realizing that it is absolutly best to make sure that i dont forget to take the time to still enjoy all the goings on in between the tasks as well.  We took Marisella’s car to the grocery store this time and began to shop as i think is best by going down one Isle at a time grabbing what we each needed and thus covering the entirty of the store before calling it all done. and so going about in this mannor and two hours later we were done and almost three shopping carts were filled. we headed out to the checkout and I allowed chris to go look at the toys while Marisella and I Checked out and paid.
The shopping done now we sat about the task of putting all the groceries away I don’t know how well Marisellas time of stocking her own shelves went but I had to get rather creative to fit all I had aquired into the tiny kitchen area of my bus. now with everything put away and my laundry started I now had time to.... and it was about this time I remembered I had to pull birds to be preped for tomorrow at work. Marisella took me up there and I pulled the birds from the freezer so that they could thaw and we decided while we were out to take Chris back to his mothers.
After coming back to Marisella’s apartment we finished with the task of cleaning the duck cage and cleaning the bus. I was ready for the day to be over at this point but life was not yet ready to be done with me. I still needed to switch the laundry and my stomach was yelling at me that I had forgotten to eat dinner yet. The laundry now switched My Marisella and I went into the apartment where i prepared for us a dinner of fried tuna steak with corn and peppers and a side salad which I was very pleased with the way it all came out. We ate and watched some youtube videos as I didnt want to get involved with something more than that with still so much for me to do.
Our hunger now satisfied it was time for me to heade another bodily concern. a shower. I had noted earlier while grocery shopping and reaching for things on the top shelves that I could indeed smell myself and the stench was enough to make my nose want to jump from my face and hide in a corner. I was so utterly exhausted at this point that the thought of skipping the shower had crossed my mind but the continuous foul odor emanating from my very being was enough to drive the thought from my mind and I relented into taking a quick shower.
With all that done it was finally time to retrieve our cloths from the dryers and retire to the bus for the evening. I chose to dress minimally for the trip from her apartment to my landboat since we were to be going to bed soon. that proved to be a mistake as the night was cold and the concrete colder. my toes were forzen by the time we got to the bus and I danced around as Marisella tried as quickly as she could to open the doors for me.
Now I sit here writing this and am glad this days entry is almost done. My cup of tea is near gone and the cold nights air is helping to make my bed look like a paradise. I now will lay my head down and hold my Marisella close to me and fall asleep with the memories that I have made today playing in my head and dancing in my heart.   Goodnight

It was very, very tempting to make a landboat joke, but surprisingly John was able to keep it to himself. Chancing himself on a job that could easily cover bills with a guy who could just as easily exploit every bad dream and every worst fear if he wasn’t careful?
Wouldn’t even crack the top ten on dumbest things he’s done this week, but still John didn’t want to chance himself. So peacefully get in the car time it was.
Tumblr media
“Can, but only if they’re real pissed off.” That
was probably going to need some elaborating, so elaborate he shall. “See, y’ die here? You’re supposed t’ move on to your new plane of existence whether that’s reincarnation, heaven, the Pure Land, whatever you’ve been believing in long enough for the respective folk in charge t’ go clawing after your soul. You die with too many attachments? You’re stuck here ‘til you figure out how t’ fix that or you just, y’know, move on. Get stuck here long enough? You can probably guess what starts t’ happen.”
For a moment John can’t help but entertain the thought of how the good doctor would respond to such a sight. Maybe some idle inspiration? Probably, the things he tended to deal with on a daily basis were the inspiration for many a horrors and related nightmares.
An idle noise of thought as he tapped on the window. “Was about t’ joke about maybe you need to bury the bodies off property, but if the dead zone’s growing?
I might got an idea t’ what’s going on but you’re gonna need to tell me: does the area also smell like decay, have a lot of flies, and when you’re in the circle does it feel like you’re getting pulled somewhere?”
Tumblr media
"On my mark?"
For a terrible second, Crane assumes the detective is going to use some sort of spell to send them both straight to the destination. He wasn't sure his mind (or stomach) could handle it. He was barely even able to acknowledge or comprehend the existence of the supernatural as it was. Clear cut demonstrations and experiences would be a little much.
He turns pointedly to the car behind him. It's a 1979 Black Cadillac Coupe DeVille, one of two cars Crane owned, and he hadn't been ready to go driving around in his dirt-covered pickup to go and see a private dick.
Grunting, Crane pulls his coat tighter over himself. It felt colder in Gotham these days, although whether that was because a) it truly was getting colder, b) Crane was getting older, c) thanks to his emaciated form and lack of heat, or d) all of the above, he couldn't say.
He gestures to Constantine to follow as he gets himself seated in the driver's side - obviously some modifications were in order to fit the nearly eight foot tall Professor, but he seemed right at home.
He can already feel the headache approaching. "I don't know, some... ghost. Spectre, maybe. Perhaps they have the ability to do that." A small frown, and for a brief moment, the image of Salvatore flashes through his mind before it is smothered righteously. "The dead zone has been increasing more and more lately."

To add onto the previous anon about Cerulean Crescent, this game is bonkers. There’s a pirate who can mount up into a landboat with an AOE cannon. There’s recruitable chickens, as in multiple. They have a triangle attack. The “avatar” is a monster (with several classes to choose from) that the party mage summons and names. Almost every unit has a super defining personal skill.
And that’s just the gameplay. The writing itself is just as zany, from the unit descriptions being from the POV of the snarky protag, to weapons like Woe of Joe and Dicer of Dan. I really recommend it to anyone looking for a fresh FE experience- and there’s a couple difficulty modes so even if you’re not great at FE you should still be able to have fun with it.

Hermit DSMP Swap AU: Part 9.4
Grian watched Foolish and Genesis, the initial shock gone, replaced with concern. X and Joe pulled Grian aside and held a whispered conversation with him.
“What, exactly happened?” X asked.
Grian glanced back at where Foolish was shooing the other Hermits off, insisting that they were overwhelming Genesis. “He took some emeralds and gold. He seemed to be summoning a green energy into his hand. The sky went dark and he spoke the word for life in enchantment. Then there was a flash of light like when a totem goes off and she was standing there in front of him.”
Joe ran a hand through his lime-green hair and stared off in the middle distance, “Well I’ll be a duck in a sandstorm
 he really...”
X shook his head “She’s a player. That’s undeniable. Honestly, I don’t know what to do about it.”
“I don’t know if there is much we can do at the moment.” Grian glanced back at Foolish again.
X sighed “We can deal with this later, right now I need to go and find a way to stop the server from bleeding all it’s magic out.”
“Is there anything I can do to help?” Grian asked.
“No, no, you’re still recovering, you shouldn’t be using portals or flying yet. Just stay here and keep an eye on foolish and the other DSMP members, especially Genesis
make sure they keep their promise and don’t use any more magic.”
Grian nodded “Can do, and good luck.”
“We’re gonna need it,” Joe chuckled, as the two of them ran off again.
Grian walked back over to Foolish, and forced a nonchalant smile. The other Hermits had dispersed, though Grian could still see Scar watching from the prow of his landboat, and Pearl was pretending to tend to her upside down animals while glancing over in their direction.
“Sorry about all that,” Grian chuckled, rubbing the back of his head.
“That’s ok. I guess it was a bit of a surprise. I wasn’t even sure it was going to work,” Foolish laughed. Genesis stood next to him holding his hand and hiding half behind one of his legs.
Grain squatted down so he was more on her level and smiled “Hi there, nice to meet you. My name's Grian.”
She had one thumb in her mouth and stared back at him with cautious big green eyes. She would fit right in with the big eye crew.
Foolish chuckled, leaning over “It’s ok Gen, say hi to Grian.”
She glanced up at Foolish and blinked widely then pulled her thumb out of her mouth and pointed at Grian. “Your wings are pretty.”
Grian’s smile widened into a genuine grin, and he flared his wings out a little, showing them off. The colorful feathers gradually gave way to a glittering dark purple on the tips and underside of the wings. Ever since he got the dragon egg they started to change, and after his accident in the void the purple was spreading. “Why thank you. I would fly for you but I’m still recovering.”
“Ooo.” She marveled going starry eyed at the colors turning to purple.
Grian smiled, and closed his wings again. He glanced up at Foolish who was grinning fondly. “Um
 Do kids like snacks?”
Foolish laughed. “That’s a pretty safe bet.” Foolish sat down cross legged on the ground and let Genesis sit in his lap. “You want a snack Gen?” Foolish asked.
She nodded, pulling her thumb back out of her mouth where it had found itself.
Grian rummaged around in his inventory and pulled out a golden carrot. “How about this?” He said, handing her the carrot.
She took it looking it over curiously, it looked so big in her little hands. Then she bit into the end with a crunch. She had good teeth, like her dad, lots of little sharp teeth. She made a face and opened her mouth letting the carrot fall off her tongue.
Foolish laughed. “Didn’t like it huh.”
“What? But golden carrots are the best food
well after gapples but- what was wrong with it?” Grian fussed.
Gen pinched her face up and stared at the offending carrot in her hand “I don’t like it.”
“But whyyy?” Grian wined in confusion.
Foolish was still laughing, “Maybe try something sweeter, like apple slices and honey.”
Grian’s face lit up “I have those.” He got up and ran inside. A moment later he was back with a bowl of honey and some apple slices. He sat down again and handed it to Genesis. “Alrite, try this one. You're gonna love that.”
She took the bowl. Foolish held the bowl for her as she dipped an apple slice and took a bite. Her face lit up and she quickly dipped it in again. Grian watched as she devoured the bowl of apples. She looked up at him when she was finished, sticky hands and green eyes shining. “More please.”
Foolish laughed.
Grian smiled. Maybe she wasn’t so bad.
---
Pearl didn’t know that players could spawn so young. Though, she also hadn’t known that diamond blocks could become players either. With all the strange things that had been happening recently she supposed anything was possible. But from the way Grian and X had reacted she doubted this was normal for the Hermitcraft server.
Genesis looked really cute though, like a mini version of her dad. It felt weird thinking about players having parents. Mobs could have parents, but players never had parents. Never real parents
 Just found family.
Pearl stopped short as she exited her house. Foolish and Genesis were standing outside. Genesis was petting the chin of one of Pearls upside down Dogs.
“Oh, hello there, I see you like my dogs.”
Genesis stopped petting the dog and looked from Pearl back to her dad.
Foolish nodded reassuringly.
“You have a nice puppy.”
“Thanks. She really likes tummy rubs.” Pearl laughed, crouching down next to the dog with Genesis and rubbing the dog's tummy fur. The dog’s tongue lolled out and her tail thumped back and forth against the ground. “You want to try?”
Genesis gave the dog tummy scratches. She thumped her tail happily. Genesis giggled.
Pearl smiled. “She likes you
my name’s Pearl by the way. You’re Genesis right? Hum
we already have a Gem on the server, might get confusing, can I call you little Sis?”
Genesis stopped petting the dog and looked up at Pearl with big innocent eyes and nodded, “Ok, I’m little Sis, and you are big Sis Pearl.”
A feeling welled up inside Pearl, pride, admiration, she was a big sister, just like that. She never thought she would find family like this but this just felt right.
Pearl beamed, “You got it, Sis. Fistbump-” She said holding out her fist and showing Sis how to do a Fistbump and make it explode. “Pow.”
“Pow,” Genesis laughed, the corners of her eyes crinkling.
Pearl could get used to this.
---
Scar had messed around with server magic in the past. It was mostly just superficial effects, dancing lights, glowing crystals to make them look fancy. Nothing that actually did anything useful, even if he claimed it did. But the things that Foolish could do were on a whole other level. Scar never dreamed that stuff like that was possible. Changing height, controlling weather, creating new players.
Scar might be an armature magician but he knew enough to know that even the stuff he knew how to do could be dangerous. When he started playing around with magic for the first time Joe had pulled him aside and in a very uncharacteristically serious tone explained the dangers if it was used wrong.
Scar adjusted his hat and climbed down the ladder to the ground from his landboat. Coming out from under his boat on wheels Scar noticed Foolish near the Boatem Hole while Genesis sat nearby playing with one of Pearl’s dogs. Scar squinted, Foolish was putting up fences around the Boatem Hole.
Scar approached Foolish “Hello there my friend, wha’ch you doing?”
Foolish looked up and gave a nervous laugh, “Ah, yeah, this hole is a safety hazard. I’m just putting some fences around it to keep little Gen from falling in.”
“Oh, it’s not that bad really,” Scar walked over and leaned over the fence, holding his hat as he looked down into the hole. “I’ve fallen down there plenty of times and I’m still fine. Just minus a few levels
 and all my stuff.”
Foolish frowned “Just because it isn’t a cannon death for you doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be for Gen. Children are more fragile. Fundy told me that when he was a child he lost all of his cannon lives to minor accidents, he was lucky that Wilbur was able to convince Connor to revive him.”
“Cannon lives?”
“Wait- do you have infinite respawns here?” Foolish started, a hungry look in his emerald eyes.
“And you didn’t?” Scar echoed back, horrified.
“I had almost forgotten what it felt like
 but yes
the air is so clean here.” Foolish spoke, talking more to himself than to Scar. He shook his head and looked at Scar “Sorry, we used to have infinite respawns but that was a long time ago.”
“So when you die you just
 don’t respawn?”
“Sometimes, yeah. I mean, I do- I do my best to help, but there's only so much an old totem god can do.”
“Totem god?” Scar started, looking from Foolish to Genesis. Now that he thought about it they did look like totems of undying.
Foolish just shrugged and placed down another fence post and hammering it into the ground. “I consider myself more of a simple builder these days.”
“I suppose that makes sense,” Scar said, looking around at the other houses around the Boatem hole. All the Hermits would consider themselves a builder to one degree or another, despite their different histories. Foolish reminded Scar a little of Grian when he first came to the server. Actually, Grian hadn’t been whitelisted either when he got on the server. A powerful being used to playing with a different set of rules than everyone else, ones that Scar never truly understood. Grian had learned to come to terms with the new found peace and stability, hopefully Foolish could too.
---
Boatem was getting a bit crowded, not that Impulse minded. He didn’t fully understand why all of this was happening but he always liked meeting new friends, even if they were temporary. He was happy to make them feel welcome.
Impulse finished stocking up his rocket shop and headed outside, tucking his diamonds in his pocket. The sound of laughter carried through the air, Impulse looked up. Genesis and Foolish were playing on the beach in the shadow of the giant crab walker thing that Ren and Doc had parked on the border of Boatem. Now that he thought about it the walker was basically a boat with legs, it fit the theme of the village pretty well.
Impulse tucked his hands in his pockets and walked over to the beach. Foolish stood holding Genesis’s hand standing ankle deep in the water as the serf pushed and pulled at the sand around their feet. The wave pulled away, and Genesis crouched waiting. “And Jump!” Foolish said as it came back. Genesis jumped over the serf landing with a splash. Foolish glanced over his shoulder as Impulse approached. “Need anything?”
“Nah,” Impulse shrugged. “I just wanted to introduce myself properly. It was a bit crazy earlier.”
Genesis stopped jumping and looked at Impulse, moving closer to Foolish and sticking her thumb in her mouth.
“Hi, My names Impulse,” He said looking at Genesis
She stared owlishly back at him.
“She’s a bit shy,” Foolish laughed. “It’s ok Gen, say hi.”
She blinked at him.
“That ok,” Impulse laughed “Can I join?” He asked, kicking his shoes off without waiting for an answer and wading out into the water. It felt nice and cool against his feet. He had been working all day, he forgot how nice it felt to go bare foot and just let the sand wash over your toes.
Genesis let go of Foolish's hand and crouched down looking intently at the sand under the water and all the little shells and pebbles. She chased one down the serf as it was pulled deeper into the water grabbing the smooth dark rock and holding it up with triumph. She continued to look through the sand finding shells and stones and splashing in the water. She would take the things she found and run up to the dry part of the beach and put them in a quickly growing pile. She seemed really at home in the water.
Genesis came running up to Foolish and grabbed his hand, jumping up and down “Swing me, swing me, swing me!”
Foolish laughed. “Alright, alright. Impulse, you want to help?”
Impulse raised a brow.
“Just hold her other hand and when she jumps we both swing her over the water.” Foolish explained “Oh, and don’t let go” He added.
Impulse held out his hand for Genesis. She looked at it for a moment then took it. Her hand was so small, the entirety of it fitting in his palm.
“One, two, three, Jump!” Foolish counted. She jumped and the two of them swung her out over the water. She shrieked with laughter and her feet returned to the ground with a splash.
“Again!”
This time Impulse counted with Foolish. “One, two, three, Jump!”
This was the most fun Impulse had had in a long time. The cool water, the soft breeze, the pure unbridled shrinks of joy from the little girl. He found himself missing a childhood he never had. He would get so caught up in his projects that sometimes he forgot to relax or take a break. Moving from one project to the next with hardly a breath in between. Maybe that’s what childhood was about, remembering to make time for the simple things in life.
“Again!” Genesis Shrieked.
---
Nothing made sense anymore. Players couldn’t make other players and Players definitely weren't little children. At least that’s what Mumbo would have said yesterday. But what did he know? He was just a potato.
Mumbo dumped some of his junk in one of his chests and took some baked potatoes from his furnace. He relaxed as he felt the XP wash over him and repair his armor and pickaxe. It wasn’t until Mumbo swore off killing, that he realized how valuable XP was.
Mumbo felt Treeza shift and heard the wood moan around him. “Hum, what's up, there?” He asked, looking around, making his way to the ladder and climbing out of the shelter inside Treeza’s trunk to the campervan. Treeza’s leaves rustled even though there was no wind. She didn’t seem upset though. More amused.
Mumbo leaned out the door of the van and looked down. Foolish and Genesis stood at the base of Treeza’s trunk. Genesis stood with her little hands resting against her trunk looking up at the tree spirits canopy.
Mumbo jumped from his van and glided down to the ground. “Hello there, need anything?” He asked, passing Foolish as he skittered to a stop.
Foolish looked over at him and shook his head “No, no, we’re fine. Gen was just interested in your Tree. Your tree is full of server magic. It’s almost alive.”
“We’ll I wouldn’t know much about that. I’m more of a redstone guy.”
Mumbo felt a tug on his sleeve and looked down to see Genesis looking up at him with big green eyes “Why do you look like a potato?”
Mumbo Laughed. “I guess that’s a good question. Hum- now that I think about it, I don’t really know myself. I guess it has something to do with the whole peace, love and plants thing. See, I decided not to kill anything anymore- Honestly, it’s a lot harder than I thought it would be.”
Genesis nodded gravely, “All life is temporary. That’s why we have to protect it.”
Mumbo started and blinked, but all he could see was sincerity in the little girl's big emerald eyes.
Foolish smiled proudly.
Who were these people? What did she mean, life is temporary?
---
Foolish needed to finish his house. Genesis deserved a proper place to live. They didn’t need to worry about night mobs here but the stability of a place she could call home was still important.
The problem was that house building was not a child friendly activity, especially with the tower being the main unfinished bit.
Grian and Scar stood with Foolish out front of Foolish’s house. Scar had come over to deliver the sandstone in a yellow shulker box. Foolish could get used to these shulker boxes, they made building so much easier.
Grian was there like usual. Foolish got the feeling that Grian was keeping an eye on him. He hoped he was wrong about that.
“I can watch her for you while you work?” Grian said.
“You didn’t know that children were possible until two days ago, much less how to take care of one.”
“How hard could it be.” Scar shrugged.
“Are we babysitting, I can help,” Pearl said skipping over, her elytra causing her to glide with each step.
“None of you know what you’re doing. You're going to let her fall down the Boatem pit into hell, or try and take her on a ride on a horse hundreds of blocks in the sky. No.”
At the mention of horses Genesis’s eyes lit up. “Horses!”
“Not now. I can take you horseback riding later, after I finish building the house.” Foolish said ruffling her hair.
Grian pouted, “Aw, come on, we're not that carless.”
Foolish glared at him.
Pearl giggled.
Then Foolish noticed Skeppy lurking under Scar’s landboat. Probably trying to sneak in while Scar was distracted to steal something or plant a prank.
“Skeppy!” Foolish called, starting over. Skeppy jumped and Foolish noticed George hiding behind one of the wheels. “Skeppy! You are just the person I need.”
“No.”
“But I haven’t even told you what it is.”
“It doesn't matter. I’m not doing it.”
“Come on. You are the only person on this server who even knows what a child is.”
“Hey! I know what a child is,” George spoke up forgetting he was supposed to be hiding.
Foolish continued to ignore him “Pleeeeeeeze. I need to finish my house. You would just have to watch her for an hour or two.”
“No, I said no. Just because I was around when Sapnap was a baby does not mean that I am your personal babysitter.”
The other hermits came over. They all lingered around the front of the boat obviously listening.
“I’ll give you a diamond block.”
Skeepy stopped and raised his brows “A diamond block? Hum
add some redstone, some sticky pistons and an observer and you’ve got a deal
and don’t ask what it’s for.”
“Oh, are you making a redstone door? I could help with that” Mumbo chimed in. He must have joined the other hermits at some point, probably to see what the commotion was about.
Foolish sighed “It’s a trap. He is making a trap.”
Grian snickered.
“Oh
” Mumbo muttered.
“So?” Skeepy asked.
“Alright, I’ll get you the things. Just make sure she doesn't hurt herself for the next two hours.”
---
Two hours later the house was finished, it even had some gold detailing along the tops of the walls. The interior was still unfinished but Foolish could do that later.
Foolish climbed down from the roof. The other hermits were all sitting on the lawn with Genesis, even Impulse had joined them at some point. Skeppy sat in the lawn chair wearing George's red cape and holding a stick that was probably supposed to be a scepter and a flower crown on his head. Genesis also had a flower crown and a scarf wrapped around her neck and was wearing Grian’s sunglasses.
“Servants! This is unacceptable! More! More flowers! I must have more flowers! Or you will all be executed!” Genesis called, waving her hands dramatically.
“You heard the princess, more flowers. Or it is in the Boatem hole with you.” Skeppy insisted with an impish grin.
Pearl summoned more flowers from her inventory and handed the bouquet to Gen with a small flourish “Flowers directly from your royal garden, your esteemed majesty.”
Gen took the flowers and bowed “Thank you, we accept your gift. You will be spared.” She said taking a yellow dandelion and tucking it in Pearl's hair.
“Thank you,” Pearl grinned as she adjusted the flower in her hair.
Skeppy pointed his branch-scepter at everyone else “The rest of you lot are on thin ice though. What do you have to offer the crown?”
Genesis skipped over to Grian. “Royal Jester, What is your gift?” She demanded.
“Um well, I
” He muttered rummaging through his inventory “I don’t have any flowers-
“The Boatem hole!” Skeepy cried.
“- I have eggs?” He tried, summoning several eggs into his hands.
Genesis bonked him over the head with the bouquet “No!”
“Boatem hole! Boatem hole!” The others started chanting.
“Wait, wait, wait! How about this?” Grian laughed, summoning an amethyst shard.
Genesis’s eyes lit up at the shiny crystal. “Yes!” She took the crystal. She put it in her mouth and bit down with a crunch. Her sharp teeth shattered it like rock candy.
“See! I told you, they're delicious,” Impulse chimed in.
She finished the amethyst candy and then took a poppy and tucked it in Grian's hair before moving on to Scar.
“Oh, my turn?” Scar muttered, Lets see. “I have this rare shell collected from the back of an exotic sea creature on a distant shore.” He said summoning a nautilus shell in such a way that it looked like he was pulling it from his hat.
“Ooooooh!” Her eyes went wide and shining. She grabbed the shell and shoved all of her flowers into Scar’s arms. She danced around in a circle and held the shell up to the sky. “It’s so pretty,” She laughed.
“No fair, I wanted some flowers,” Mumbo complained.
Scar waggled his eyebrows “You might still get your chance. Who knows you might find Gen original flowers in the Swagon one of these days.”
Foolish chuckled coming over, “Looks like you’ve all been having fun.”
Genesis stopped spinning and looked up at him. She smiled and ran over reaching up to him.
He picked her up, “So if you are the Princess does that make me the king?” Foolish asked.
She shook her head “Skeppy is the king.” She corrected, then she continued pointing at each of the others “Pearl is the Gardener, Grian is the Jester, Scar is the Royal Master of Hats, Mumbo is the head advisor of Potatoes, George is the Mushroom Lord, and Impulse is Head of Happiness.”
“What does that make me than?” Foolish laughed.
Genesis thought about it for a moment, “You’re Papa.”
Foolish smiled “That’s the best role you could give me,” He chuckled, pressing his forehead to hers.
[notes: I hope you enjoyed this bit of Genesis fluff before things get crazy again. Sorry this took so long to write. I don’t usually write fluff and I kept getting distracted. On top of that I wanted to watch some old home videos to get inspiration on how to write dialogue for a five year old. I based Genesis a bit off of my sister when she was that age so I wanted to get the characterization right. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find the video I was looking for Xp.]
