The Vampire Laws (according to the Children of Darkness).
Total of one hundred.
Written in Latin. The main coven was based in Rome, and Armand was sent from there to Paris. Is Latin his third language? ("French my fourth and poorest language").
They largely use the term "lamiae" for vampires (which makes sense given the part of the world), but not always.
The Five Great Laws
1. Quisque suum thalamum debet habere ducem e ... ponat ... doli.
(my translation) Each coven (literally „inner room“) must have its leader ... order ... Trick.
(used in the show) Each coven must have its leader and only he might order the working of the Dark Trick upon a mortal.
2. Dona tenebrosa numquam debilesdebile.. ... er.. aut iis qui necum potestatibus quidem obscuris suis vivere possunt debent.
The Dark Gifts must never be given to the weak ... or to those who cannot (in fact) live with their dark powers.
The Dark Gifts must never be given to the crippled, the maimed or to children.
3. Nullus lamia vampiris debet scribere historiam lamiae vel quamlibet veram cognitionem lamiorum netalis historia inveniatura mortalibus et credatur.
No vampire should commit to writing the history of the vampires, or any true knowledge of vampires, lest such a story be discovered and believed by mortals.
No vampire must commit to writing the history of the vampires.
4. Nemo lamia suamveram naturammortalibus unquam patefaciet et mortale vivat.
No vampire will ever reveal his true nature to mortals and lives as a mortal.
No vampire shall ever reveal his or her true nature to a mortal and let the mortal live.
5. Nullus lamia potestalium lamia destruere nisi quod dominus copuluspotestatemhabetvitae et necis super totum gregem suum.
No vampire can destroy another vampire except for the coven master who holds the power of life and death over his whole flock.
No vampire may ever destroy another vampire except that the coven master has the power of life and death over all his flock.
Other laws that are at least a little bit readable:
51. Lamia semper ad sep... re...bit vel uni simillimum.
A vampire is always ... or very similar to one.
52. Lamia non cognoscet gaudium.
A vampire will not know joy.
53. Non cognoscet lamia felicitatem.
A vampire will not know happiness.
54. Leges magnae lamiae ...olasse iudicatus exs... ... morte punietur.
The laws of the great vampire* ... judged ... will be punished by death.
*or more likely the great laws of the vampires.
55. Lamia(e) exilia punienda ...buntur in terra tumulanda.
Exiled vampires to be punished ... buried in the ground.
56. Lamia non ambulabit in locis lucis.
A vampire will not walk in places of light.
57. Vampires praedam e consortio rapient ...s profuxis[?] et vagi.
Vampires will snatch prey from the group  ... runaways and vagrants.
58. Lamia nunquam cognoscet delicias vitae vanitates saeculi.
A vampire will never know the pleasures of life and the vanities of the world/age.
59. Lamia non requiret solatium foci[?].
A vampire will not require the comfort of a family.
60. Vampires nunquam carnalem delectationem cum mortalibus requirent.
Vampires will never seek carnal pleasure with mortals.
61. Vampires nunquam mortalium consortia quaerunt.
Vampires never seek the company of mortals.
62. Vivere inter homines ....nt labentibus annis lamia ad insaniam.
To live among humans .... the passing years ... a vampire to madness.
63. Vivere inter homines alios videre senescere ac mori sicut lamia nunquam sequila[?] lamia ad insaniam impellet.
To live among humans and see others grow old and die, like vampires would never, will drive vampires to insanity.
64. Lamia non ....patem quaerunt.
A vampire not ... seek.
65. Vampires in choro[?] delectationem non reg...rent.
Vampires do not ... delight in dance.
66. Vampires in musica non quaerunt ....tem.
Vampires do not seek .... in music.
67. Lamia(e) non[?] actibus[?] delectationem quaerunt,
Vampires do not seek pleasure in perfomances.
68. Vampires litterae** voluptatem non requirent.
Vampires do not seek pleasure in books.
**thank you lilium-in-blue
69. Vampires magicae non ....ionem requirent.
Vampires do not seek .... magic.
81. Factor amittit fac....diendi f.lli sui cogitationes ..c ...tium est donum obscurae largi...
The maker loses .... his thoughts ... is Dark Gift ...
82. Lamia in alias formas inc..sa europaea mutare poterit sed numquam in ...rundom africanum vertere poteris.
A vampire in other forms ... European ... will be able to change but never in ... African ... will be able to turn.***
*** I have no idea what this means. Words are missing and the whole sentence can have a completely different meaning than what it looks like now. My first thought was that it was some kind of reference to Akasha and Enkil. Please don't jump to conclusions.
83. Veri filii dei potestatibus eam ...per fidem resistere possunt s.... ....e sunt creaturae infidelis damnatorum.
True children of God .... powers ... can resist faith ... are the creatures ... damned unfaithful.
84. Lamia corpora aquae salsae in aestus maximo et infimo .a.tum transibunt.
A vampire will cross bodies of salt water ... at high and low tides.
85. Ut tempus mortale depopulatur corpus lamia depopulabitur tempus ut anni decennia vertuntur in saecula millennii corpus petrificat et lamia volvitur in saxum.
As time destroys the mortal body, so the vampire will be destroyed over time, as the decades turn into the centuries of the millennium, the body petrifies and the vampire turns to stone.
86. Vampires victimas non relinquent ubi a mortalibus cognosci possint nisi tales dolores fuerint ut mors non sit causa praeternaturalia.
Vampires will not leave their victims where they can be recognized by mortals unless they are wounded in such a way that their death does not seem supernatural.
87. Lamia vera loquetur scobe[?] domino.
The vampire will speak the truth ... to the master.
88. Lamia domino suo asse obediet eique exhibebit quantum tale officium postulat.
A vampire will obey his master and will give him as much as such a duty demands.
89. Lamia ad omnes casus paretur.
A vampire is prepared for everything.
90. Lamia paratus ad immolandum se ad bonum testudinis.
A vampire is willing to sacrifice himself/herself for the good of the coven.
91. Paratus lamia paratus erit suum testudinum et dominum suum ab omnibusiminis externis et domesticis defendere.
A prepared vampire will be ready to defend his/her coven and his/her master from external and internal threats.
92. Super omnia custodiatte.
Above all, be vigilant.
93. Nullam lamia eg... posuere eget t.n.idunt quam.
No vampire ... needs to put ...
94. Si lamia in...niret socium lamia fractam testudinis regulas tali de..sta domino cousco referentur.
If a vampire ... vampire breaks the rules of the coven, such ... they will be reported to the coven master.
95. Defectum de .ae...is membris certi... facere faciet ..os criminum facitos[?] lamia ac s ... .a... miserit.
The failure of ... members ... will make ... crimes ... vampire ... will be killed/released.
96. Ignorantia testament.. regulae non erit acceptabile defensionem contra regulas praevaricationis.
Ignorance ... of the rules will not be an acceptable defense against breaking the rules.
97. Admissa in cr..am un ... via exeundi ...
Admitted ... way ... avoid ...
98. Pactum lamia s... et pacem[?] praesedit.
A vampire pact ... and presides over peace.
TL;DR: Very cult-like rules, calling for restraint, moderation, obedience. Lots of little callbacks.
Let me know if you spot any mistakes or can add anything. I'm used to translating from Latin, but not into English. Latin is a bit tricky, mainly because of the crazy word order.

How To Write Vampires With An Original Twist
Tumblr media
Mythical creatures are an essential part of the fictional scene, but the same creatures have been used so many times that these creatures now often seem redundant and boring in fiction. This is why I've started a new blog series: How To Create Original Mythical Creatures. I'm kicking off this series with vampires!
Join me as we dive into the world of vampires, from their mythical beginnings to their modern-day interpretations, and learn how to write them effectively in your own narratives.
Origins of Vampires
Vampires have a rich and diverse history rooted in ancient folklore and legends. Across various cultures and civilizations, tales of bloodsucking creatures have emerged, each with unique characteristics and behaviors.
One of the earliest known vampire myths comes from ancient Mesopotamia, where stories of blood-drinking demons known as Lilitu or Lamashtu date back to around 3000 BCE. These entities were believed to prey on humans, particularly targeting children and pregnant women.
In ancient Greece, the Lamia was a mythical creature often depicted as a female vampire who lured and devoured children. Similarly, in Roman mythology, the Strix or Strigoi were vampiric entities that fed on blood and flesh.
Moving forward in history, Slavic folklore introduced the concept of the Upyr, a vampire-like creature that rose from the dead to feed on the living. These early depictions of vampires often portrayed them as revenants or undead beings with a thirst for human blood.
Modern-Day Vampires: Where Were They Originated?
The modern concept of vampires, as we commonly know them today, took shape during the European Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Legends of vampires emerged in Eastern Europe, with notable figures like Vlad the Impaler contributing to the folklore. Vlad's reputation for cruelty and his association with impaling enemies on stakes led to the creation of the vampire archetype, inspiring Bram Stoker's iconic character, Count Dracula.
From ancient Mesopotamia to medieval Europe, vampire lore has evolved and adapted, weaving its way into popular culture and literature. Understanding the origins of vampires provides writers with a rich tapestry of mythology to draw upon when crafting their own bloodsucking creatures.
I wanted to go into more detail regarding the Lamashtu and Lamia since they’re not as well known as their Slavic and European counterparts, but unfortunately, that would deviate from the purpose of this blog.
The Evolution Of Vampiric Appearances
Before we proceed with this section, it's crucial to clarify that the mythical creatures and beings discussed in this blog are not direct representations of ancient vampires. Instead, they serve as inspirations for the concept of vampires and share certain attributes with our modern-day depictions, including blood-feeding, pale skin, human-like appearance with some animalistic features, and so on.
Vampiric Creatures In Mythology
In ancient mythology, vampiric entities were not always depicted as the suave, charming figures we see in modern vampire tales. Instead, they often embodied primal fears and monstrous traits.
Lamia: In Greek mythology, Lamia was a terrifying creature depicted as a woman with a serpentine lower body. She was known for her insatiable hunger for children, often depicted as a child-eating monster. Lamia's appearance combined elements of human and serpent, emphasizing her monstrous nature and predatory instincts.
Lamashtu: In Mesopotamian mythology, Lamashtu was a malevolent demon who preyed on pregnant women and newborns. She was depicted with a fearsome appearance, often described as having the head of a lion, the body of a donkey, and bird-like talons. Lamashtu's grotesque features and destructive tendencies reflected ancient beliefs about the dangers of childbirth and infancy.
Lilitu: In Mesopotamian and Jewish folklore, Lilitu or Lilith was often associated with nocturnal demons or spirits. She was depicted as a seductive, winged demoness who preyed on men and newborns. Lilitu's appearance varied across different myths but often included features like wings, long hair, and sometimes talons, emphasizing her otherworldly and dangerous nature.
Strix: In Roman and Greek mythology, the Strix was a bird-like creature or vampiric owl associated with dark omens and death. It was believed to be a shape-shifting creature that could transform into a woman or an owl. The Strix's appearance combined avian and human features, instilling fear and dread in those who encountered it.
Strigoi and Upyr: In Eastern European folklore, Strigoi and Upyr were blood-sucking undead creatures similar to modern-day vampires. Strigoi were believed to be restless spirits or revenants that returned from the dead to torment the living. Upyr, on the other hand, were vampire-like beings with sharp fangs and a penchant for drinking blood. Both creatures were depicted as pale, gaunt, and often with elongated canines, reflecting their predatory and undead nature.
Medieval Depictions: Shift in Appearance
During medieval times, the depiction of blood-sucking mythological creatures underwent a transformation, shifting from monstrous and terrifying to more humanoid and relatable appearances. This change in portrayal can be seen in various aspects of their physical features:
Teeth: Originally depicted with long, sharp fangs or talons for blood-drinking, medieval depictions often featured more subtle fang-like teeth or no visible teeth at all, aligning with the concept of vampires being able to blend in with humans.
Skin: While ancient vampires were often described as monstrous and otherworldly, medieval vampires were portrayed with paler skin to signify their undead nature but without extreme deformities or monstrous features.
Appearance: Medieval vampires were often depicted as more human-like in appearance, with regular clothing and a less monstrous demeanour. This shift allowed for more nuanced storytelling and exploration of themes like temptation, desire, and the struggle between humanity and monstrosity. This is also what birthed the romanticization of vampires.
Mythological Vampire vs Modern-Day Vampire
Mythological vampires, rooted in ancient folklore and mythology, were often depicted as malevolent spirits or creatures with supernatural powers. These creatures varied widely across different cultures, from the Lamia and Lilitu in Mesopotamian mythology to the Strix in Roman and Greek folklore, and the Upyr in Slavic tales.
These ancient vampires were not always the suave, charismatic beings we see in modern media. Instead, they were often portrayed as terrifying and monstrous, with features that reflected their otherworldly nature. For example, the Lamia was described as a demonic woman with the ability to transform into a serpent, while the Lilitu were associated with storm demons and fertility spirits.
In contrast, modern-day vampires, especially those popularized in literature and film, have undergone significant transformation. They are often depicted as sophisticated and alluring, with a penchant for romance and drama. Authors and filmmakers have humanized vampires, giving them complex personalities, tragic backstories, and even moral dilemmas.
While modern vampires still retain some traditional attributes such as a need for blood and sensitivity to sunlight, their portrayal has evolved to include a wide range of characteristics and abilities. This shift has allowed for more diverse and nuanced storytelling, exploring themes of immortality, love, redemption, and the eternal struggle between good and evil.
Which Option Is Better For Your Novel?
When deciding which type of vampire to incorporate into your story, consider the tone and themes you wish to explore. Mythological vampires offer a darker and more primal essence, rooted in ancient fears and superstitions. On the other hand, modern-day vampires provide a canvas for exploring human emotions, relationships, and societal issues through a supernatural lens.
Ultimately, the choice between mythological and modern vampires depends on the narrative direction and atmosphere you want to create. Both types offer unique storytelling opportunities, allowing you to craft captivating tales of mystery, romance, horror, or even philosophical introspection.

I know it's still very soon to say without many informations regarding Korryn, but do you have any thoughts on what kind of monster girl she would represent? 👀
-🧶 anon who is fixated on the monster AU 😔 I swear i have many different unholy thoughts, but this is the first that comes to mind (i blame you/j)
Hmmmm. Considering that she has the whole Western cowgirl getup, I’d say she’d be a type of monster that lives in the dessert or on a ranch.
Some options for Korryn in the Monster AU are:
1. Rattlesnake Lamia
2. Holstaur (Cow-girl, get it?)
I’m fine with her being either, but I must say I’m particularly interested in her being a Rattlesnake. I can envision her rattling her little tail when the Researcher gets too close, and quickly striking her prey (wrapping around the Researcher) when she least expects it and causing all the other monster women to panic.
The Holstaur is pretty self explanatory. Cow girl with big boobs for sucking milk out of them :)

just wanted you to know that you did an amazing job on my requests! And I have another for you. Part two of romantic yandere lamia Mitsuri, where it’s been a few years since she kidnapped us and she’s starting to look at and act weirdly around us, like she’s being more flirty and touchy, like she’s almost always keeping us wrapped in her tail, and she’s talking about having kids, and how she’s wondering how they’d look and how many she should have, if this makes you uncomfortable you can just tell me that it’s not your thing. Have a nice day or night!
Welcome back! This took a bit of thinking but here it is!
Yandere! Lamai! Mitsuri Kanjori x Darling! Reader (Romantic)
Part 1 - Part 2
Warning: mention of Blood, death, slight stalking, kidnapping, obsessive behaviour, reader could be coded as male at birth and is called ‘father’ but you can also read it as Mitsuri having no clue… so, mention of sex and sexual themes (plus no use of y/n)
It’s been at least a week now, a week since you had been taken from your peaceful hike in the forest to a dirty and cramped den with a snake woman who called herself ‘Mitsuri”.
She kept saying that the two of you were made for each other, and how perfect your love story was.
This was far from a love story.
The ‘relationship’ was suffocation; she was constantly wrapped around you and if not she was not to far away hunting and bringing you back fresh prey.
She would hug you, and run her long fingers over you.
She was touching and would make… comments to you.
“How many clutches should we have?” Mitsuri asked you, taking about babies as she held you close to her chest
“I-I dont think im ready for children…” You uncomfortably responded, but Mitsuri didnt seem to pick up on that.
“But why? I think you would be an amazing father; I wonder if they would look more like me or you- Oh! I hope they look like you!” She explained, her tail rapidly coiling around you.
You’ve tried to get the topic of you not liking this and just wanting to go home before, but she was to head strong on her own ideas and twisted scenarios to care about your wishes.
You wished only for your life before, to go back to you home and sleep in your bed and not be with this screwed in the head delusional snake woman who thought you to were soulmates.
No matter how many times she compliments you, or touches you in ‘loving’ ways or tries to court you with death animals and such; you will never love her and you will never stay.
But you just need to find away out…
Thank you so much for your wait, and to respond to your question; yes, I do like writing these request. I find them very entertaining on how I could use the already existing human character or Mitsuri and twist her as a snake.

I HAD AN ALASTOR(or Lucifer bc i like when my birds flock together) AND/X READER IDEA
(Not specifics on smut, fluff or angst. Just a reader idea. Could go any way.)
So in mythology, there are strixs. They are like owls, but feed on human flesh and blood. Anthropophagics.
So, like Alastor, reader is a dead cannibal. While he ate adults, reader ate babies.
"In this Greek myth, the ill-omened strīx herself did not perpetrate harm on humans. But one paper suggests guilt by association with her sons, and seeks to reconstruct an ancient Greek belief in the man-eating strīx dating back to this age (4th century BC)."
So, reader ate dead babies, but didnt kill them. Their family killed, but reader only dined.
OR
"Like the lamiae, and succubi, they preyed upon unprotected sleeping men and children. With men, they turned into women, had sexual intercourse, then drank the mens blood. To children, they offered their poisonous milk. "
Reader was ate then ate. Or poisoned kids.
So if it were a Lucifer fic, it'd be very RadioApple esque. Except reader is very into it.
But Alastor? Bonding over yummy tummy nummies. Killing together and feasting, reader hanging upside down from his antlers screeching.
"that cries by night, without food or drink, with head below and The blue portion? of feet above, a harbinger of war and civil strife to men"
The harbinger portion??
A little precognition. When reader gets hungry, boom! A precognition of violence!
"In Romanian, strigăt means 'scream',"
When reader is doing the precognition, it screams!
They could have a damaging scream! As a weapon!
"There are several examples of the strix's plumage, etc., said to be used as an ingredient in magic. Horace in his Epodes, wrote that the strix's feathers are an ingredient in a love potion, as has his contemporary Propertius. Medea's rejuvenating concoction which she boiled in a cauldron used a long list of ingredients, including the strix's wings."
Reader has useful feathers. We already have magic and hornifying Valentino mouth juice. Why not potions?
What makes potions? Witches!
"Strega (obviously derived from Latin striga) is the Italian term for witch."
Ozzie mentions to Stolas in Oops! that he doesnt do love potions, which implies that they exist.
Witches can enchant! Make potions!

Food for Thought: Mithrun as a Survivor of Sexual Violence
While going through the dungeon meshi manga tag here on tumblr and browsing the dungeon meshi subreddit, I noticed there were a lot of posts about experience, agency, and how this would affect a character’s decisions on pursing romantic relationships with others. Many of these posts focused on Falin, her past trauma, and her quest for self discovery. Here, I would like to discuss a character that I notice whose experiences and their impact on potential relationships are overlooked. As for why, it is probable for that for many people this character’s trauma was too close to real life. It comes across as no surprise that many readers have drawn a parallel between Mithrun’s backstory as the lord of the dungeon and loosing his desires, to that of a person who was sexually assaulted or raped.
As mentioned in the paragraph above, this essay will discuss triggering topics such as sex/ sexual functioning, sexual assault, and rape. Please proceed with caution.
Mithrun’s Backstory & The Assault Parallel
In chapter 62, Mithrun recounts to Kabru how the winged lion made him lord of the dungeon. He encountered an enchanted mirror which provoked his insecurity and jealousy over his brother’s closeness to the woman he loved. The winged lion appeared to him as a goat and granted him a life where he did not serve his duties as a part of the canaries. Thus, Mithrun spent five years living a charmed life where he had everything he wanted, including a relationship with the woman he loved. As his desires intensified, the winged lion grew stronger, and bit by bit the facade it had built for Mithrun crumbled around him. Once reaching its full power, the goat cornered Mithrun and proceeded to eat his desires except the one for revenge.
In the beginning, it is notable that the goat demon takes the appearance of a kid, not an adult goat. If Mithrun hadn’t clarified that it was a goat, many readers would have automatically assumed it was a lamb. In many cultures, especially western cultures with a Christian background, the lamb represents innocence, youth, as well as sacrifice. What is presented in this chapter is an inversion of this belief. Here, the demon takes on a trusting, unassuming form to manipulate Mithrun, and it is clear as the flashback goes on that the more Mithrun is immersed in the world of the dungeon, that he is being being fattened and set up to be the sacrifice to satiate the demon’s hunger.
It is revealed that every person, including the woman Mithrun loves, are actually monsters, disguised by the goat to take on elven form. The woman herself is in fact a lamia, a half human-half serpentine being that comes from Ancient Greek mythology. Lamia had were said to prey upon young men by seducing then eating them. The lamia’s presence by Mithrun’s side serves as a reminder to the audience of the goat’s true intentions.
In the panels themselves where the goat eats Mithrun’s desires, the event is reminiscent of a sexual attack. The goat barges into Mithrun’s bedchambers, a place associated with relaxation, privacy, and intimate encounters. It salivates as it begins to eat Mithrin and audibly enjoys the process, which shows that its mouth penetrates through Mithrun’s body. As it dawns upon him what is going on, Mithrun, unable to move, and paralyzed, screams for the goat to stop.
One thing that stuck out while reading this section, particularly in the last panel, is that the goat’s position while eating the desires is similar to that a person might assume if they were giving oral sex to another. In most mainstream media, no matter the country, it is still incredibly taboo to depict or reference any form of oral sex compared to a penetrative act. This framing choice was undoubtably intentional to elicit shock from the reader.
Additionally, when one thinks of desire or lack of, they automatically correlate it to the heart or the mind. If a writer is given to task to come up with a scenario where a villain consumes desires, there’s a chance they would opt for other forms of violence. They may write about a character’s heart being ripped from their chest, or being psychologically drained, which could result in death. This contrasts greatly to compared to Dungeon Meshi’s depiction of the consumption of Mithrun’s desires, and that he survives. While the goal initially eats from Mithrun’s chest, it moves its head so that it settles into Mithrun’s abdomen. Anatomy wise for humans (and assuming elves as well) the abdominal cavity contains the digestive organs and is situated above the male internal reproductive organs. By having the goat target such a delicate area of Mithrun’s body, the line between hunger for food and hunger for sex is blurred. Upon being discovered by the canaries, Mithrun is hanging by a thread. He is scarred both physically and emotionally, and has lost all motivation to live. The only thing keeping him alive is his desire to kill the demon. Mithrun’s precarious state is similar to the situation as well as motivation that is commonly found in media where a victim of sexual violence seeks revenge against their assailant.
Biological & Psychological Response
At the end of the manga, Mithrun has embarked on a journey to regain his desires and to find a new purpose in life. Taking into consideration that the physical toll on Mithrun would be similar to that of an individual who faced an extremely life threatening situation, his body would first focus on getting him back to baseline. This entails in making sure that he digests and stores the nutrients he needs, is able to recharge through sleep, build up the reserves to fight off infection, as well as excrete waste products. Once the body has reached baseline, it begins to focus on other processes, one of them being sexual response. As noted in individuals with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), it is common for the ability to become sexually aroused to take a long time to return, as well as the possibility that it could be impaired by stress. For an elf like Mithrun, going back to sexual functioning to how it used to be before the dungeon might take anywhere from months to years. As a male, Mithrun is likely to experience difficulty obtaining and/or maintaining an erection, and perhaps trouble having an orgasm and ejaculating, both of which could be potential sources of stress if he were to be intimate with another person.
Psychologicaly, there are three factors that comes to play as to how Mithrun would confront the possibility of a relationship or sexual encounter. The first is his demeanor. Throughout the manga, Mithrun is described as stoic and lacking emotion due to the absence of desires. By the end, Mithrun is shown to slowly regain his feelings. This is seen in chapter 94 when the realization that he deep down wanted the winged lion to eat him moved him to tears. If post manga, Mithrun begins to process the forty plus years of trauma he endured, the sudden influx of emotion that he hasn’t handled in years may come to him as a shock.
The second factor is trust. In the dungeon, Mithrun lived with a being he believed to be the love of his life. They would have spent time together, confided in each other, as well as shared affectionate and intimate moments together. The reveal that the woman of his dreams, the woman he would have been vulnerable with physically, emotionally and sexually, was a monster, and that the winged lion created her to deceive him would have devastated him. Mithrun is a naturally guarded person, and the betrayal of trust he experienced would cause him to be suspicious of those around him, especially those close to him since in his mind they have the most potential to hurt him.
Thirdly, the possibility that Mithrun’s trauma could resurface while having sexual contact with another person is very high. If the demon eating Mithrun’s desires is taken to represent a sexual assault as discussed in the previous section, Mithrun might be triggered by receiving oral or being in a situation where he is penetrated or he has to penetrate others.
Implications
In an ideal world, Mithrun would be able to seek out or be referred to a professional who specializes in mental health, whether it be getting prescribed medication, going through therapy with a trauma specialist, or other interventions. In the world of Dungeon Meshi, not much is known about the state or evolution of its healthcare services. One of the post manga chapters features a support group for former dungeon lords, suggesting that some form of therapy would be available to him. Mithrun may at first show reluctance to enter a relationship, be untrusting of his partner, and become overwhelmed by emerging emotions he had long repressed as well as his body’s physical reaction to sexual stimuli. A relationship between himself, an established character, or an original one, would need an open line of communication between all parties, as well as a high amount of empathy and patience for it to be successful.

Suddenly can't get the idea of Half-Snake Half Man Levi out of my mind. Call him either a lamia or a naga, but he's just enchanting. We need more half-snake hybrids, they're basically just land mermaids.
Naga!Levi whose mostly human from the waist up. Mostly. You could almost believe he is, if not for the pointed tips of his ears and the sharp slits of his pupils. His sharp, blackened claws. When he opens his mouth to speak, you catch the glint of his long and dangerous fangs and the sharp point of his forked tongue.
Naga!Levi who, from hips down, is pure SNAKE. A long black tail covered in glittering diamond shaped scales, more than four times the length of his torso. The length is coated with a mish-matched pattern of grey splotches, all the way down to the tip. It's thick, teeming with dangerous coiled muscle. The under belly is a soft, pretty grey. It matches his eyes.
Naga!Levi who is pure predatory muscle. His human half is packed with pure muscle, yet thin and lithe. Rows and rows of abs coating his firm belly, hardened shoulders and thick biceps. His tail is HEAVY. And he's BIG, though when he settles to sit upright on the curled up length of his tail, he's looking up at you by several inches.
Naga!Levi who is a predator, pure and simple. He eats meat. He hunts and stalks his prey, coiling the length of his tail around them over and over again, snapping bones and literally squeezing the life out of them. Tearing them apart with the sharp length of his claws, rending their flesh with his elongated fangs. He hisses. He glares, flicking his tongue out to taste the air.
Naga!Levi who, even though he doesn't realize it, is entrancing. Despite his size, the pure weight and muscle that he carries, he's nearly silent whenever he moves. Hips canting enticingly from side to side, you can't look away whenever he moves. It's almost like he's dancing, beckoning you to him in some sort of spell.
Naga!Levi who doesn't hibernate, though he's supposed to. Due to his half-snake nature he should. The rest of his den does, gorging themselves on meat before packing in for the winter. The cold makes him lethargic and slow. But he can't hibernate. His childhood didn't allow him to get used to the cycle, starvation and desperation keeping him awake. He sleeps, but on and off, not for the entirety of winter.
Because of this, Naga!Levi spends the winter seasons away from his friends and family. He doesn't want to worry them, doesn't want to bother them, so he finds a small cave relatively near by and makes it into his temporary den. At a loss for his usual agility and speed, he spends the colder months surviving like a human would. He can't be fast. He can't be stealthy, his form burrowing a huge trail in the snow in his wake. Hunting only small prey, rabbits for example, and fishing the way a human would. His metabolism is much slower anyways, he doesn't need nearly as much food when it's cold.
That's how you find him. Glittering black scales coated with white flakes of snow, his form collapsed and quickly disappearing beneath the weight of a snow storm. You've never seen anything like him before. Beautiful, both man and creature. He greets you with an aggressive hiss, eyes peeling open to wary slits at your approach. He's too heavy from the cold, to lethargic, but you help him to his cave. You save him, getting him warm.
Naga!Levi who, after meeting you, struggles even more with hibernation. He wants to stay up, to spend all your waking moments alert and by your side. But as it gets cold, his limbs become heavy and his eyes falling heavy lidded. You decide to cuddle up to him and keep him warm, and he's happy enough with that.
Naga!Levi who is so gentle with you, despite his nature. He's always cautious with his claws, so careful about only grazing you with his fangs. His tail can squeeze you tight, particularly during heated moments, but it's never too much. He hold you like you're precious. The coiled tail wrapped around you is securing, comforting, like a weighted blanket. Whenever you sleep, it's in his arms, the length of him wrapped tight around you.
Naga!Levi who worries about spring. He gets quieter, holding himself stiffer the closer and closer it gets. You end up having to ask him what's bothering him, prying the issue out of him like pulling teeth. He blushes so adorably, the tips of his pointed ears a burning pink, while he struggles to explain. It's mating season. He worries about it, how it'll go, with you being human. He's only ever dealt with the resulting urges by himself before.
Usually Naga!Levi prefers you to take control during intimate moments. He loves exploring your differences, his long tongue tickling the length of your thigh, sharpened fangs dragging breathtakingly across your skin. He prefers you to ride him, claws digging into the plush of your thighs and they shake and shudder beside his hips. He hisses in pleasure, the sound bleeding into a moan, music to your ears.
Naga!Levi who, come spring, suddenly becomes so needy. Every moment is spent touching you, fingers smoothing along your back as he glides by your side. Tongue flicking out to taste your scent, wetting the skin of your neck. All of him seems to be extra sensitive, the littlest touch along the soft underbelly of his tail sending him into lust. This holds even more true for the soft skin of his neck.
Naga!Levi who suddenly can't hold himself back. His tail locks so tight around you that it'd be terrifying if not for the soft kisses pressing to your collarbone. All he can do is fill you again and again, the hardened length of his cock exposed from his slit, leaking a constant stream of white seed. He can barely stop between knots to lick at your sore and swollen pussy, the forked tip both soothing you and pushing his thick seed back in. He wants you full, stuffed with his knot. Bred.
Naga!Levi who begs and whines, hissing out all of his love and affection wet and airy into your neck. He's normally quite vocal, tell you how soft you are, how good you take him, but the heat of spring loosens his lips further. He whines, he hisses, he whimpers. He needs more. More more more. More of you. He's mindless, accidentally nicking you with his claws, digging them too hard into the plush of your thighs. He soothes all the little scapes with a urgent swipe of his tongue.
Naga!Levi who wants to make you his mate. Forever. He wants to fill you up all the way, until the balloon at his base stretches you so much it aches, to sink his fangs into the soft skin of your neck and mark you as his and his alone.

You’re a fledgeling adventurer pressing on through the hostile jungle. You know of the risks- pheromone-heavy flowers, glowing tree frog-girls with aphrodisiac spit on their lengthy tongues, and countless other hypnotic fauna- but you’re feeling brave.
That is, until something darts out from the tall grass in front of you.
You don’t have time to react, or think, or do much of anything before the lamia strikes, opening her hood and… her hhozodd…
They spin and you stare and you sink and you spin and they slide closer and closer. They’re so much bigger than you- stronger too. Their massive tail slides under you and scoops you up, but you hardly notice, far too enthralled by the lovely snake lady’s spiraling eyes and enthralling hood, now all you can see.
“There you go… husssssssh, sssweetie, you’re ssssafe with me~ jussst… ssssink~”
You feel your pants being taken off, but you don’t care. All you can care about is her words and her body.
“sssilly ssssubby… jusssst keep ssstaring. Your mind ssssleepsss for Mommy, but your eyess ssstay open. Now, be good prey and ssssuck~”
Mommy presses a nipple to your mouth, and you obey. You’re instantly rewarded with thick milk filling your mouth. Everywhere it touches leaves a slight tingle, and you feel your thoughts slowing, your body weakening, and your crotch throbbing with need. You feel her tits and you hump, mindlessly melting into the arousal. You stare and suck and sink and submit until Mommy smiles down at you, and says
“3… 2… 1… cum, sssslave~”
You spurt cum all over Mommy’s tits, and your mind goes with it. Who you are, where you’re going… it all sinks down down down into the recesses of your mind. You don’t need any of that anymore- you’re just Mommy’s mindless melty fucktoy…

Note
Lamia, like other reptiles, are heat seeking individuals especially when looking for prey. Imagine a lamia plastered against the window at the foot of your bed because your heat signature changed as you masturbated before bed. They watch you while you get off. You may have noticed, or maybe not. Either way, the window is unlocked.
