Why am I attracted to your version of the Creature? Stop it

Also, it's halfway intentional!

My theory is that while the Creature is a hell of a shocking sight, I don't think he's anatomically all that gnarly. He's described as having individually beautiful features and, while his proportions might be weird, they are proportional/symmetrical. Doesn't really add up to something blindingly grotesque.

My guess is that he's suffering from GHUV--Gothic Horror Uncanny Vibes. The mental/spiritual equivalent of something Wrong radiating from an otherwise unbothersome entity and rubbing everyone's brain the wrong way when beheld. You see it with characters like Edward Hyde, who isn't ugly or scary! Just a little guy! A little birthday boy! Who also makes everyone's hackles jump up in loathing on sight. Supernatural antagonists in Arthur Machen's work, often pretty, often a step to the left of human, ooze eldritch menace at a glance. Et cetera, et cetera.

Whatever process Victor uses to bring the Creature to life, I think he maybe accidentally tapped into those otherworldly forces he tried so intentionally to work with as a child. He achieved something miraculous under the impression it was merely science--but that miracle came from a source that Should Not Be. Which would go a long way toward explaining why Victor was so at ease with the Creature while inert, but his whole brain, even sinking into fever delirium, went !!! upon seeing the Creature alive. Because that life comes on like a light made of pure No, No, No, Fuck That, Absolutely Not, NO energy.

But all that aside, I think the Creature just deserves to look like a badass giant goth metal rocker with a cadaverous monster man gimmick. Let him have this.
