@lady-bess @berryispunk have come together to create @fanfictionoverload for January. Short little fics. This will be a bit of a struggle trying to keep the fics short but might also help me refine some bits. I’m excited to do this to keep me going through January which in my line of work is very hard indeed. This will be my little distraction for sure.

Broadway Divas Tournament: Semifinals

Six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald (1970) holds the record for most Tony acting awards a person has ever won. She is one of five actors to be nominated across all four respective acting categories and the only person to win every one (and the only actress out of the three who is still living...). Her stage work includes: Ragtime (1998), Porgy and Bess (2012), and Lady Day at Emmerson's Bar and Grill (2014). Internationally acclaimed concert tours, Tony host, crown jewel of the American Stage. Grammy winner, Tony winner, Emmy winner. Get this woman an Oscar, stat. This is a BROADWAY Diva tournament, and it doesn't get much more BROADWAY than this.

Legend, icon, certified GILF Christine Baranski (1952) has a theatre resume a mile long. A two-time Tony winner, Christine has performed on and off-Broadway, regionally, and internationally in shows such as Mame at the Kennedy Center, the pre-Broadway workshop of Sunday in the Park with George, and the infamous flop that was Nick & Nora (1991). She can be seen alongside a slew of other Broadway Divas in HBO's The Gilded Age, and has also participated in at least ten Sondheim shows and concerts over the years. This is a Broadway DIVA tournament, and it doesn't get much more DIVA than this.

You and Dean finally tell Sam the entire truth.

Part 2 to Secrets

Warnings: cursing, mention of ending a pregnancy. Yall this is Angsty

Everything had calmed down, for the moment anyways. Gadreel as it turns out had been the angel's name had been evicted from Sam's head thanks to Crowley of all people. The hunt for a way to kill Abaddon was ramping up but that was a worry for a different day. You'd take the wins you could.

You weren't surprised to find the other side of your bed empty. You suspected Sam hadn't even been sleeping in the same room with you at all. It hardly felt like you were a couple any more. You wanted to talk to him, to be completely honest but how the hell did you approach the subject?

Sam stopped at the lake that was about five miles from the bunker. He'd gone out on an early morning run, not sleeping next to you meant he barely slept anymore.

You had stayed through what happened with Gadreel, losing Kevin... when he pushed you away you stayed. He still wasn't sure what was going on between the two of you. It had been weeks since you let him touch you, he missed you. He missed having you in his arms. He missed you talking to him about little things. He missed the way things were before he tackled the trials.

The problem? He didn't know how to get it back. The bond between you and Dean hadn't faltered any. There were still times he'd walk into a room to you and Dean cutting off mid conversation. The two of you had even gone on a few solo hunts. Dean citing you needed to clear your head and he didn't want you alone.

He loved Dean. He'd been a mother and a father to him despite there only being a four year age difference. He owed a lot to Dean but you were his heart. He'd never loved anyone the way he loved you.

The day he realized he had fallen in love with you a part of him had felt guilty thinking of Jess but Dean had been the one to remind him she'd want him to be happy and loved.

He didn't hate either of you for what was clearly going on. How could he? You were the most important people on earth to him and it would hurt like hell but he'd prefer the truth to whatever was going on. The problem remained if you would barely talk to him how could he ask you something as heavy as he needed to? How could he ask when you'd fallen out of love with him and in love with Dean?

You sat across from Dean staring down at the coffee cup in your hand. "How did the doctor appointment go?:" he asked and you nodded slightly "She said it all looked good. I'm thankful to Bess for getting me in with her doctor"

He cut his eyes up then glanced down towards your stomach "So the healing process?" You shrugged one shoulder "She was amazed at how fast I healed and the minimal scarring. Amazing what having an angel and the king of hell on your side can do for a girl"

He laughed slightly then his face sobered "How are you doing? The last few months have been a lot for us all, you and Sam especially" you shrugged "Some days are better than others. I want to talk to him so bad and tell him what happened but how do I tell the man I love that?"

"I'm sorry again sweetheart. I never for something like that to happen" you reached across to take Dean's hand "Wasn't like you're the only one who was there to make that choice"

A sound in the hallway made you both jump up, Dean instinctively stepping in front of you until Sam walked in "Sammy? What's wrong?"

The first thing you noticed beyond the anger simmering off of Sam was the tears in his eyes. He looked from Dean to you "How long?" You and Dean exchanged a look of confusion "How long what baby?" You asked and he laughed humorlessly "How long have you two been sleeping together?"

"What?" "Oh C'mon man!" You and Dean were speaking over each other. Anger at the accusation mixed with the guilt of what the two of you had kept from him.

"The dropped conversations. The solo hunts. The spending time together then Dean not meaning for something to happen and you saying he didn't make that choice alone?" Sam's eyes were on you. "Sam it's not like that" Dean tried, reaching out for Sam's arm and having to duck when Sam swung on him.

"I'm not a fucking idiot Dean!" You jumped between the two of them without thinking. Yeah standing between two men with tempers like theirs and as strong as they were both was probably a dumb idea but no matter the accusations swarming you were confident neither would ever intentionally hurt you.

You cut your eyes up at Dean when he spoke your name "It's time to tell him" you nodded. "Tell me what?" Sam asked and you saw the slightly tremor to his hand.

You took a deep breath "We've been hiding something Sam. Well the two of us and Cas, Crowley, Garth and Bess" he laughed "So damn near everyone we know besides me, the man you claim to love?"

"Ease up on her Sam" Dean warned stepping closer to your back. Sam watched the movment with hurt in his eyes "I'm sorry Y/N. I shouldn't have said that but for I've watched the woman I love get closer and closer to my brother. You barely let me touch you anymore I just want to know the truth, please"

You took another deep breath "I had to have an abortion Sam"

He felt all the air leave his lungs like if he'd gotten punched in the chest. You'd been pregnant. "Was it mine?" He asked and when you shook your head he felt his heart crumble "Was it yours?" He asked Dean who shook his head "God no. She'd never cheat on you and I'd never hurt you like that"

Sam's head was spinning. If it wasn't his and you weren't sleeping with Dean and hadn't cheated on him...it was a Nephilim. "It was Gadreel's" he spoke in all but a whisper. You nodded feeling tears spring from your eyes. "Crowley and Cas helped heal her up" Dean explained but Sam's eyes were solely on you. That was why you'd pulled away, why you'd been leaning so heavily on Dean. You hadn't wanted to put anymore on him.

"C'mere baby. I am so sorry" he pulled you into his arms and for once you let him. You laid your head over on his chest "I love you Sam with all my heart" "I know baby I know. I love you too" he wrapped both arms around you. Dean motioned to the doorway before walking out to give the two of you alone time.

"What now?" You and Sam had ended up taking a walk through the woods that surrounded the bunker. He turned to face you "I wish you would've told me. I would've been there for you" "I had hoped it was yours" you whispered looking up at him. He pushed your hair back from your eyes "I never should've doubted you"

"Are you mad at Dean?" You asked and he shook his head "For protecting you? Never" you pulled him into a hug and he wrapped his arms around you tightly. It wouldn't be easy, there'd been a lot of secrets being hidden amongst the three of you but maybe now all of you could truly start to heal before the next catastrophe landed.

A Shot at Love with Mina Week 3, Day 1

Bess Lake, the show’s seasoned producer, stood at the front of the room, her clipboard clutched tightly in one hand, her piercing eyes scanning the group of men seated before her. Jeremy Whitstone, the younger, more approachable co-producer, leaned casually against the wall, arms crossed, his expression serious but not unkind.

Bess cleared her throat, the sound slicing through the tense silence. "Gentlemen," she began, her voice calm but laced with authority, "this show is called A Shot at Love with Mina. Not A Shot at Bonding with the Boys. Not *A Shot at... whatever it is some of you seem to be focusing on lately."

She paused, letting the weight of her words settle in the air. A few of the men shifted uncomfortably in their seats. Devin avoided her gaze, while Kobicha smirked slightly, clearly unfazed.

Jeremy stepped forward, his tone gentler. "Look, we get it. You're all in a high-pressure situation, living in close quarters, and naturally, some camaraderie is going to form. That’s fine. In fact, we encourage it—up to a point. But let’s be clear: the reason you’re here is to win Mina’s heart, not each other’s."

Bess took over again, her voice sharper now. "Mina deserves your attention, your effort, your sincerity. Right now, some of you are treating this like a vacation, a chance to hang out, party, and... well, explore distractions." Her eyes darted briefly to Kobicha, who raised an eyebrow, unbothered. "But Mina isn’t here to be an afterthought. She’s putting herself out there, vulnerable, to find someone who’s willing to match that energy. And quite frankly, some of you are failing."

There was a heavy silence. Ronald opened his mouth as if to say something, but Jeremy raised a hand to stop him. "We’re not saying this to humiliate you. We’re saying it because this is a wake-up call. If you’re not here for Mina—truly here for her—then you need to reevaluate why you’re staying."

Bess folded her arms, her expression softening slightly. "This is a competition, gentlemen, and the stakes are high. But at the core of it, it’s about love, connection, and respect. If you can’t give Mina that, then maybe it’s time to pack your bags."

Jeremy nodded in agreement. "The next week is crucial. You’ve all been given this second chance to step up, to prove why you’re the right match for her. Don’t waste it."

Bess glanced at each man in turn, her gaze unyielding. "Consider this your last warning. We’ll be watching."

With that, she turned on her heel and strode out of the room, leaving the group in a heavy silence. Jeremy lingered for a moment, offering a faint smile. "Good luck, guys," he said before following her, the sound of the door closing behind them echoing in the room.

Last Line Tag Game

So I think I’ll give three last lines, because it’s what I’ve been working on, first up is Din Djarin smut. I was supposed to be writing fluff, between @alltheglitterandtheroar and @megamindsecretlair it changed for the better and teasing is always fun. ☺️

Both arms pull Din’s head to your chest, the sharp inhale of air before he’s buried in your body has you whining. The intensity of just two of this thick fingers have you close to your second orgasm but he removes them, a pop then a second as he mouth part from your nipple. “Taste yourself, then you’ll come twice for me.”

Second is from “This is the Neighboorhood Din” my modern Din AU:

“Dear Lord in heaven I am not dressed or prepared to talk to that sort of man any day.” She muttered as Ms. Harris made her way down the stairs toward her, she hugged her, and her arms wrapped around her as well, eye still lingering on the man sitting on the porch. His sweatpants did not leave much to the imagination. They weren’t tight by any means; one could just trace the lines. Thick thighs and well… heavy in the middle is the most polite way to say it. The only way she can think to describe it while hugging her aunt.

Third, last line from chapter 5 of “The Lake Between Us” (yes I do have future chapters written I planned! Unheard of in Nerdie-land)

“That I did Moonbeam. You should be cautious of my motives, but I can start at the beginning of my troubles for you if you like.” He placed his hand on hers, running up her arm to her shoulder and drew a small circle around her mole. “Be forewarned, the past is neither rosy nor glamorous. It is fraught with hardship, double-crosses and some death.”

Moonbeam grinned, nodding as he spoke, “Sounds like a thriller Ezra. I’m all ears. Add a dash of romance and some mistaken identity and you have yourself a movie marathon.”

“I’m sure you’d be riveted to hear it.”

“That I would.” Moonbeam crosses her legs and leans forward, touching his chin with a finger, “Speak.”

Lastly, I might be trying finish my Dave York series finally. 👀 Or one of them, though I’m not sure all of them are on Tumblr. I think I write too much stuff and it get’s jumbled. This is a softer Dave:

At her core, Kiara felt safe with him. It hurt to admit though she wasn’t exactly sure why, pride maybe? Maybe she wanted to continue to be independent but she hadn’t been for a few months now.

No. Not when she really thought about it.

Her head was leaning against the steering wheel, the nurse had seen his SUV parked in the driveway. Dave pretty much lived with her now, though she didn’t remember giving him a key. He hadn’t needed a key their first night together either.

I’m also working on “Roc & Doc” and crafting the murder mystery since I killed off Rockford’s partner and introduced his brother. What role will his brother play? We’ll see. Also, if you’re going to be a furry for the night, make sure you can in and out of your suit. 😎

Chapter 5 of “Weddings 101 with Dieter” is under way as well. I want a lot to be in it, might be too much. We’ll see how it turns out, also smut because Dieter’s gotta get Maya’s dress off - he did promise her that. 😘 Half-ass and Bridezilla are in full swing!

It’s a lot like always because it’s Nerdie, what else am I supposed to do? Too many ideas, not enough follow-through. I did four instead of three. 😵

Rereading AOFAG brings all kinds of fun ideas for the older Penelope au.

For example the scene after Benedict blackmails Sophie to come back to London with him Sophie ran into Penelope in the hall who had just recently returned to My Cottage to check in on Benedict.

"Oh Sophie, have you seen Benedict?" Penelope asked.

Sophie still mad mutters, "He just returned from the lake Miss Fea-" Sophie paused at Penelope insisting she be called by her Christian name. "Penelope."

Penelope made a face. "By the lake? What on earth was he doing there?"

Sophie, who absolutely could not tell this woman what has just transpired between her and Benedict only says, "I believe he was going for a swim."

"Swimming?" Penelope said, now weighing a book in her hand. "I see. Thank you Sophie."

A few moments later Sophie could hear a things falling over in the room she left Benedict.

"Benedict Bridgerton! You just got over being sick for the second time in a month!" Penelope could be hear shouting, followed by thwacks of a book. "What were you thinking going swimming now, you nudist?!"

Oh, Sophie thought to herself. So Penelope knows about Benedict's preference to swim naked.

"Ow! Pen! Ow! Penelope!" Benedict could be heard exclaiming. Sophie could hear his boots running around the room, but smaller, very light footsteps could be heard behind him, followed by the thwack of the book.

"You will not be leaving me alone in London any longer! Do you hear me?!"

"Just because Colin wants under your skirts-OW PEN!"

Sophie tried not to laugh as she walked down the hall.

Later, Penelope dragged Sophie to her side of the carriage they were sharing. "So I hear Benedict plans to find you employment at Number 5?"

Sophie nodded, her stomach in knots. "In his mother's house, yes."

"Well, you're come at an interesting time," Penelope said. "According to Lady Whistledown, there's a housemaid war going on."

"Really," Sophie asked.

"Oh yes!" Penelope pulled out a few of Lady Whistledown's columns, handing them off to Sophie.

Sophie had to hide her smile at how ridiculous Araminta was portrayed in Lady Whistledown.

What Sophie didn't see was Penelope studying her, the smile she hid when reading about Lady Penwood. Benedict confirmed Penelope's suspicions that Sophie was illegitimate last night, Sophie was too educated for a housemaids daughter even if her employers were generous. (She hit him again with a heavier book after he also confessed to asking Sophie to be his mistress and then blackmailing her after she said no) The smile Sophie hid, Penelope has seen it before. It's a smile she has seen dozens if not hundered times before when others read Lady Whistledown and one who has wronged them in some sort of fashion has appeared in it in a non favorable light.

Penelope knows its not her mother. She has kept track of their servants over the years, and Penelope makes sure she is kind to them. Proven when she changed Estelle's name in the column to Bess. So it has to be Lady Penwood. Then it hits her, the night of the Masquerade, Benedict's Lady in Silver. Her glove bore the Penwood crest. Taking a closer look at Sophie's face and Penelope knew, it's her.

Penelope should tell Benedict, but after the comment he made about Colin and her skirts yesterday, Penelope deserves some fun, doesn't she? Either way, she'll make sure Benedict and Sophie will be happily married by the end of the season, and Violet will be happy too with another child married.

😰 - for a fear-themed headcanon

It wasn't a pervasive, all-encompassing fear.

However, when Audrey stood in the sand of the beach overlooking the ocean for the first time, dread surely found a way to creep in. Growing up in Chicago, Audrey had spent plenty of time around the Great Lakes - it wasn't the water that was a problem. Each time on Joseph's yacht, anxieties about the vast, cruel sea tugged on the back of her mind. It was the uncertainty of what laid beneath the water, both in depth and creatures. It made her feel small and helpless to its power - perhaps that was the core of it, she reasoned.

Of course, after the freeze, days travelling across the frozen expanse of water numbed any prior fear. The aquarium offered a chance to revel in its former beauty in a controlled way, inspiring a sense of wonder for what was before.

However, with an axe held to her throat in the same car, the cruelness came not from the sea, but from Joseph. "Do it, before God and all the fish!"

She felt small and helpless.

💍 - for a jewelry-themed head canon

Till never had much interest in jewelry - it just wasn't practical. Growing up playing any sport she could, it was something that got in the way. The same principle applied to the academy, of course. When the time came to board Snowpiercer, jewelry wasn't even an afterthought while she was packing.

The first time she visited the Night Car was when she truly first began to notice and appreciate not just the beauty of an individual piece, but how it accentuated features of the wearer. Miss Audrey must have boarded the train with trunks of it - something new almost every night adorned her, it seemed. Each piece told a different story, each piece made Audrey impossibly more beautiful.

Till spent more and more time during the performances admiring how Audrey strategically wore her jewelry to draw the eye to whatever features she wanted on display. How a pendant sat on her chest, how a chain hung or clung to her neck, how her rings made her hands even more alluring.

Maybe it wasn't just the jewelry that Till was admiring.

💕 - for a loved-theme head canon

Audrey had loved many things. She loved her chosen family, she loved music, she loved performing. Her duty to the people on the train came from a place of love, too.

What she had thought was love for Joseph was anything but. It was transactional and possessive - she was nothing more than something else that belonged to him. A facade she was happy to play along with before the freeze when she had the world in the palm of her hands.

She knew he never boarded the train - if he had, she knows she would've been called up to the engine. Seven years of time to process, but that bottle of whiskey still sat under the counter of the bar. He never loved her, in any sense of the word, but she was bound to him. When he returned, she pushed all the love from her heart in order to step back into her role of performing just for him.

Maybe that's why Till frustrated her endlessly. Lingering touches between snarky quips, a growing softness under a front of hatred. She hated that her heart fluttered when Till's face would flush - didn't Till know, her heart sang for Wilford?

look. the levels of "you know, i always thought i could be a good dancer if i wanted to be" in 15x10 are just. so much to me!!

the more i think about s15, the more i see the little callbacks and easter eggs to earlier seasons. (the writers did their homework!) we have what i think is probably the most recognized/cited one, "daddy's blunt instrument" which predates every writer working on s15. i guess arguments could be made for singer but i just don't see him making that sort of contribution to a berens-penned ep. but there are so many other little things and i do think dean's line about thinking he could've been a good dancer is both a metaphor and a callback to 07x16 out with the old.

which like.

it was also something of a metaphor in s7. you have the literal meaning of dean seeing the ballet shoes in s7 and clearly being drawn to them in a way that sam isn't, the references to both black swan and swan lake. (and clearly a knowledge of swan lake given the reference to prince siegfried.) but you also have the metaphorical meaning of the shoes with dean being drawn to something that is perceived to be non-masculine and "delicate" and nothing like hunting. that he wants to have that in some capacity. and then we get a reference back to that in 15x10!! the acknowledgement that he always thought he could be a good dancer if he wanted to be. said with wistfulness! and it's said as they watch garth and bess dancing together. the face he makes when sam jokes he was good at the macarena and totally brushes off what dean is saying. given the lamp. given everything in the episode. yes, it's about dancing and wanting normalcy. it's about settling down and having a life. it's about dancing with someone.

you ask "why lamp?" you fucking know why. and so does andrew dabb.

also: references to swan lake the ep before cas returns is uh. a lot. this is however an instance where i'm not 100% onboard with it being an intentional destiel thing.

* there is literally nothing delicate about dance/dancers tho, it's literally just perception. i had friends who danced and they were pure muscle and grace. it's wild.
