I’ve been replaying Millionaire’s Conspiracy, and can we talk about case 6 for a second? You know, when the general manager of the bank conspired to commit insurance fraud for a sum of 100 million pounds? IN FRONT OF SCOTLAND YARD? AND NOBODY CARED? Yeah, that was quintessential Layton right there. 10/10, no critiques.

How I would have written Flora in the Lady Layton anime. (Part 1)

I'm still disappointed that Flora wasn't given the same treatment as Luke when it came to restructuring his concept for the anime. If I were to write Flora in the anime she would be inter woven into the Relic Arc. She would appear during the flashback episodes but at the start her role is of a side character. And when Professor Layton and Luke decide to leave to solve the riddle of the Relic Stones Flora takes an more active role in the story.

She would learn this through little Kat and Flora frustrated makes up some kind of excuse to go after the two. Maybe like Professor Layton forgot his spare top hat or something. Flora would ask Rosa to look after Alfendi and Katrielle until she comes back home with Professor Layton and Luke.

This gives Flora a reason to follow after them but this time it isn't because they left her instead it's because Professor Layton and Luke are leaving their family. Flora was told about how dangerous this trip could be before hand and tried to talk the professor out of doing so. Professor Layton mentioned that this is an important thing he must do as a father. He must do this for Katrielle.

Flora wasn't convinced by this notion one bit but she didn't want to pry more than she needed. She decided to follow after them until she got caught by Luke on the ship. Luke brings Flora to the professor.

"Flora dear, why are you here and not back in London with your siblings?" Professor Layton asked.

"Father, I couldn't let you and Luke go through with this. It's not right." Flora remarked.

"Flora, I get you feel left out again but-"

"This isn't about me! Haven't you two ever thought that you're leaving your families behind! Kat needs her father and she'll miss you if you don't come back."

"Flora..." Luke sighed.

"And you Luke, you're leaving your wife all alone! I know it's not my business, but you shouldn't leave her in the dark." Flora explained.

"Hmm..."

"I won't go back without you two! You can't make me even if you try." Flora stamped.

"Flora, we can't go back now. We have to push forward--"

"But!"

"Flora, listen carefully, it's too late to turn back and now you have to stay close." Professor Layton said.

A couple years ago, @aquamarineglow made an Professor Layton AU of a bunch of Katrielle variants based on who could be her bio parent. I really liked the idea and drew some concepts for what these girls would wear, saying that I would make more in the future. Well, it’s been a while but with me learning how to use procreate I thought I should give the girls another try!!

Subject 2???

I know this is kind of a bad time to post this since all the Layton hype is about the new game, but I’ve remembered a little theory about something from one of the older games and one of the newer ones. I only replayed these games mentioned a few months ago, though, so I might have forgotten some stuff.

quick backstory for those who may have forgotten about the subjects: In unwound future there was that one rude rabbit guy named Subject 3, and he talked about being an experiment from Dimitri’s lab and stuff. He later lets us know that this parrot guy that Luke found earlier on in the game is actually Subject 1, another experiment. 

So now to the part where you can start picking up where I’m going: Layton Mystery Journey. I also replayed LMJ right after I replayed UF, and LMJ’s first “mystery” introduced is Sherl: a talking dog. He mentions that he doesn’t know who he is, who he’s from, who his parents are, etc. Now, being the very nice and helpful girl that she is, Katrielle helps Sherl figure out who he is... not. I’m very angry that neither the game nor the anime say anything about where Sherl’s from and just pass him off as this goofy little assistant to Katrielle and not an actual client.

So now to the main part. What if Sherl was actually Subject 2? This was originally kind of just a joke theory, but I find the fact that he can actually talk to some people in English kind of odd.

.....or maybe it’s just Beasley or someone else. Who knows!
