I’ve been replaying Millionaire’s Conspiracy, and can we talk about case 6 for a second? You know, when the general manager of the bank conspired to commit insurance fraud for a sum of 100 million pounds? IN FRONT OF SCOTLAND YARD? AND NOBODY CARED? Yeah, that was quintessential Layton right there. 10/10, no critiques.

A couple years ago, @aquamarineglow made an Professor Layton AU of a bunch of Katrielle variants based on who could be her bio parent. I really liked the idea and drew some concepts for what these girls would wear, saying that I would make more in the future. Well, it’s been a while but with me learning how to use procreate I thought I should give the girls another try!!

Subject 2???

I know this is kind of a bad time to post this since all the Layton hype is about the new game, but I’ve remembered a little theory about something from one of the older games and one of the newer ones. I only replayed these games mentioned a few months ago, though, so I might have forgotten some stuff.

quick backstory for those who may have forgotten about the subjects: In unwound future there was that one rude rabbit guy named Subject 3, and he talked about being an experiment from Dimitri’s lab and stuff. He later lets us know that this parrot guy that Luke found earlier on in the game is actually Subject 1, another experiment. 

So now to the part where you can start picking up where I’m going: Layton Mystery Journey. I also replayed LMJ right after I replayed UF, and LMJ’s first “mystery” introduced is Sherl: a talking dog. He mentions that he doesn’t know who he is, who he’s from, who his parents are, etc. Now, being the very nice and helpful girl that she is, Katrielle helps Sherl figure out who he is... not. I’m very angry that neither the game nor the anime say anything about where Sherl’s from and just pass him off as this goofy little assistant to Katrielle and not an actual client.

So now to the main part. What if Sherl was actually Subject 2? This was originally kind of just a joke theory, but I find the fact that he can actually talk to some people in English kind of odd.

.....or maybe it’s just Beasley or someone else. Who knows!
