Apologies for having a second ask in one day but I was curious on if you had any art pointers you'd wanna share at all
I just really like your style and all that and I've been trying to figure out my own stuff :3
WAUGH-
oh no i dont mind lol
THANK YOU I LOVE THIS SCRUNKLY SOSIG GHOST TO DEATH YOU DONT KNOW BGHFDGJHG
And sure!
Years ago I started out drawing snatcher in his more canon form before beginning to imply different features that stood out to me more and liked better to his design. I would say to start out with character references first. The rest I'm sure you can figure out later; What works and what doesn't. You're unique preferences if you will. It takes some time.
As for the rest I've been inspired by golden age classic cartoons artists like Don Bluth, Chuck Jones, Hanna Barbera, Tex Avery, Walter Lantz, Max Fleischer, Richard Williams, etc... Disney, Warner Bros, and a pinch of anime. So many cartoons to name them all... I also take inspiration from Batim, Cuphead, Skullgirls, Lackadaisy, -Artists like Shen (bluechair comics), Vivziepop, Gooseworx, Piti Yindee, Hailey lain, Kittensneeze, Pastra, Qwerts, spineapples, StarsTaco, Telepurte, BeautySnake, Corax, Pastel Flurry Delak, João Pereira, kekeflipnote, Kosperry, Meanbeanzone, ... and so many others.. enough to make your head spin and of course my mutuals uwu (also i will be looking at your blog this is a threat/j)
but yeah look for works that inspire you! That match your vibe and sorta dissolve and meld into it
Tumblr media
Well, thats all! Hope this helps :]

Louise Brooks - The Flapper Icon
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mary Louise Brooks (born in Cherryvale, Kansas on November 14, 1906) was an American film actress during the 1920s and 1930s. She is regarded today as "The Flapper Icon," in part due to her trend-setting bob hairstyle and modern fashion sense. Those that do not recognize her name almost certainly know her look.
Born in a typical a typical Midwestern community, Brooks joined the Denishawn School of Dancing and Related Arts in Los Angeles at the age of 15. She soon found work a as a chorus girl in George White's Scandals and as a dancer in the Ziegfeld Follies in New York City.
Her Follies stint attracted the attention of Walter Wanger, a producer at Paramount Pictures. He had her sign a contract with the studio in 1925. During this time, Brooks gained a cult following in Europe for her role in the Howard Hawks' film A Girl in Every Port (1928).
Dissatisfied with her mediocre roles in Hollywood films, Brooks went to Germany in 1929 and starred in some of the silent era's films, including Pandora's Box (1929).
When Brooks returned to Hollywood in 1931, she was cast in some mainstream films such as God's Gift to Women (1931). However, her career prospects as a film actress significantly declined by 1940. Brooks briefly returned to Wichita, where she was raised, and then moved to New York City, where she worked numerous jobs.
Following the rediscovery of her films by cinephiles in the 1950s, Brooks began writing articles about her film career and had had special relationships with film historians James Card, John Kobal, and Kevin Brownlow.
After suffering from degenerative osteoarthritis and emphysema for many years, Brooks died of a heart attack in her apartment in Rochester, New York at 78.
Legacy:
Served as the inspiration for the long-running Dixie Dugan (1929-1966) newspaper strip by John H. Striebel, the comic books of Valentina (1965-1996) of Guido Crepax, and Ivy Pepper in Tracy Butler's Lackadaisy (2006-2020) comic series
Is the basis of the movie Show Girl (1928) and its subsequent musical Show Girl (1929), and the graphic novel entitled Louise Brooks: Detective (2015)
Opened a dance studio in Beverly Hills and Wichita, Kansas in the 1940s
Authored a booklet titled The Fundamentals of Good Ballroom Dancing in 1940
Became a noted film writer in the late 1950s for various journals like Film Culture and Sight and Sound
Inspired many cinematic and literary characters such as Sally Bowles in Bob Fosse's Cabaret (1972) and Lulu in Something Wild (1986)
Published a collection of autobiographical essays, Lulu in Hollywood, in 1982, which was ranked number 44 in the Hollywood Reporter's "100 best film books of all time" in 2023 and number 28 in the Los Angeles Times' "50 best Hollywood books of all time" in 2024
Presented with the George Eastman Award for Distinguished Contribution to the Art of Film in the 1982 Festival of Film Artists
Ranked number 44 by Empire magazine's 100 sexiest stars in film history in 1995
Is the subject of the Emmy-nominated documentary Louise Brooks: Looking for Lulu, which was commissioned by Turner Classic Movies in 1998
Is a central character in the PBS film The Chaperone (2018), which depicts her initial arrival in New York

Sadie Churchill anon! So, about Roscoe and Walter. I'm going to change the last names. I have discovered there is already someone with the last name Clyde in Lackadaisy. While, it's true that I could just make them relatives, but I'd have a reworking situation on my hands with their story if I did that and I simply don't have the time nor energy to do that. So, their last names will be changed.
🌹The last name Clyde isn’t necessarily uncommon, so it’d make sense for people to share it🥀
🌹though is still wanted to, you can change it. I ain’t gonna stop ya🥀

Webcomic Recommendations
Since I figure there’s people out there always looking for new webcomics (like myself), I decided to make a list of the ones I’m reading/have read! They’re all free to access, and I’ll include the comic’s official “description” under its title, if it has one (also, the comics’ titles are links to the website hosting them). The list is below the cut, and separated into “Ongoing” (as of 3/15/2019) and “Complete/Never to be Continued" (for the latter, I’ll indicate which in the description). Note: These are not necessarily intended for young audiences!
Ongoing
Dog Eat Dog
“None are left without the influence of Man's unyielding, cruel hand. If given the choice, whose blood would stain your teeth if it meant you could finally be free?”
Home (Sequel to Asmundr, see “Completed”)
“Two years have passed since the plague of the Shield Wolf was defeated, but the increasing threat from an unknown source to the small family of Asmundr have left them no choice but to leave their home. In the new land, their prayers and questions to their gods are only answered in silence, as the dangers of this land become their new reality. Survival leads to some separating from their family for knowledge and adventure, but the trials and tribulations are ever daunting.”
Lackadaisy
[No description]
Mokepon
“He wants to be the very best! That no one ever was... uh, no. Scratch that. Adventures and friendship were never something that appealed to Atticus... Shame that it's a pokemon world he lives in, and so teenage boys living in Pallet Town are not expected to sit idly by. But the life of a hero is not one he's about to consider; too much hard work for little reward, and so instead he embarks on his quest not to become the greatest... But at least, the richest. Although the biggest challenge may be ignoring the adventures and friendships which may attempt to ensnare him along the way...”
Prague Race
“Prague Race is the story of a girl who’s always wanted more--she just didn’t expect it to come in the form of a handy parasite living in her back. With only one year left to live, she’s going to make the most of it in the strange secret world behind the veil.”
The Property of Hate
[No description]
Wilde Life
“Wilde Life is a supernatural adventure/horror series set in a small town in rural Oklahoma. It focuses on stories about creatures from Native American mythology as witnessed and documented by a journalist from Chicago, Illinois.”
DNA
“Sirius and his friends never asked to exist, and, really, none of them should. Despite this, here they are, and existing when you shouldn’t brings with it complications.”
The Glass Scientists
“The city of London is not the best place to be a mad scientist. Thirty years after the death of the infamous Dr. Frankenstein, its citizens have gotten awfully good at killing creatures, destroying laboratories, and generally wrecking anything new or strange-looking ... Together with his Society for Arcane Science, he can end the reign of fear and superstition that has held London captive for decades so long as no one discovers his one little secret, a secret that could ruin him and unravel the lives of everyone he knows. This man’s name is Dr. Henry Jekyll.”
Ghost of the Gulag
[No description]
Victory Fire
[No description]
Skin Deep
“Skin Deep was born out of an interest in mythology, folklore, music, world-building, and the idea that things are often more than they seem, and that it is easy to hide secrets when nobody is expecting them.”
How to be a Werewolf
“Since being bitten by a strange wolf as a child, Malaya Walters has attempted to live a quiet life… hopefully a life free of attempting to eat her family or the customers at her family’s coffee shop. Being the only werewolf she’s ever known, Malaya has managed her condition by keeping tight control on herself and the world around her, with lackluster results. That is, until a strange guy wanders into her shop one day and introduces her to a whole world she never knew existed…”
Daughter of the Lilies
“Daughter of the Lilies is a comic largely about the importance self-worth, the different forms love can take, how it can redeem and empower us, as well as issues relating to anxiety. (There are also unicorns, manticores, ghouls, goblins, cannibalistic elves, dragons, gods, fairies, ghosts, werewolves, demons, angels, and so on.)”
Paranatural
“Paranatural is a comedy/action comic about a group of superpowered middle schoolers fighting evil spirits and investigating paranormal activity in their hometown.”
Savestate
“Savestate is a comic written and drawn by Tim Weeks. It follows the misadventures of siblings Kade and Nicole.”
White Noise
“In the early 1900s, the nation of Aetheri came out of its long interdimensional isolation and revealed to the humans of the Symphony Archipelago that they were not alone in the multiverse. Things swiftly got ugly after that.In the early 1990s, Aetheri’s leadership changed, and in the Archipelago, a tiny broken family of half-siblings banded together in the face of the bile and hate that was boiling up between the humans and the non-humans.In the early 2000s, that family was split apart. Hawk Press and his sister Liya Kiski both begin a long and exhaustive journey towards understanding the difference between friend and enemy–and between the family you’re given, and the family you make.”
Emporium
“Nestled high in the mountains rests a strange little building, home to a vast collection of strange and unusual items, maintained by equally strange and unusual employees. Suddenly abandoned among these misfits, an unusually loquacious dog struggles to find her place alongside the mayhem and monsters housed within the mysterious Emporium.”
Doe of Deadwood
“A deer is indebted to a demon tree.”
Africa
“Africa tells the story of a female leopard, the struggles and challenges she has to face every day and her rivalry with a male leopard who threatens to take her land. Raised and educated the way of the leopards, Africa has learned that living alone is the best way of life, and that depending on someone else is a sign of weakness. This belief she has will be continuously tested, and she will have to prove herself to demonstrate its validity. Could a leopard actually live in a pride?”
Fragile
“A wolven woman and her one-winged traveling companion are searching for her long lost son, when they get dragged into something far bigger than the two of them.”
Complete/Never to be Continued
MS Paint Adventures
Jail Break (Incomplete)
“A guy tries to escape from prison. 134 pages.”
Bard Quest (Incomplete)
“A young bard's endeavor to slay some dragons. Branching ‘choose your own adventure’ style. 82 pages.”
Problem Sleuth (Complete)
“An adventure about a hard boiled detective in his office. About 1,700 pages.”
Homestuck (Complete)
“A tale about a boy and his friends and a game they play together. About 8,000 pages. Don't say we didn't warn you.”
Asmundr (Complete)
“Asmundr is a fantasy canine/feline comic, which follows the Rifle dog Kainan and his pack and their everyday struggle to survive among beasts and ancient secrets, all while a divine power is watching each step they take.”
Strays (Complete)
“Meela is a young, orphaned lupian (a race of people with wolf-like features) who is struggling to survive on her own. A chance encounter on less than pleasant terms teams her up with Feral, another lupian who happens to be a mute as well as one of the best mercenaries in the land, and who is not quite so welcoming of her forced company as she would like to believe. Fun, danger and plenty of humorous situations follow the two on their wayward adventures, however the seemingly peaceful world they reside in is not quite the paradise that its reputation makes it out to be. When a taboo topic and a dark secret collide, it may unravel their already tattered lives and force each of them to face the reality of the truth, requiring each to make decisions that could alter their lives forever.”
Snarlbear (Complete)
“SNARLBEAR is a comic about a girl's journey through the dangerous and colorful Rainbow Dimension. On the way she learns about the power of friendship and monster punching.”

(Also, I tried marking down as many tw as possible so if I missed any, really sorry about that 😬)
YouTube- Monster factory series, https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLt5zc-HxINkpAr9Ri_qJtzklB9YK2Eunh
Tw: cursing
A wonderful series about 2 of the McElroy brothers, Griffin and Justin making messed up and weird looking characters in games with extensive tools for character creator options. Even if you have already watched the series, I would recommend maybe even watching some of your favorite episodes again. I always get a laugh at it and I hope you do to.
YouTube- Memes, https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxZUuoGxIbXYx4DDn1nSfn-eMJaIt-yHL
Tw: loud at times. Flashing images
These are some memes I have compiled throughout a year or two. Sometimes when I feel kinda sad, these will get a good laugh out of me. :)))))
Online comic- lackadaisy, https://www.lackadaisycats.com/archive.php
Also, https://www.lackadaisycats.com/characters.php
Tw: cursing. Illustrations of cursing. illustrations of gore, guns, gun shots and wounds, blood, knives, nicotine/smoking, and alcohol. Blood. Fire. Murderers. Sociopathic and psychopathic characters.
An online comic about anthropomorphic cats that run a speakeasy after the original owner was murdered. It is a comedy, mystery, and crime series with a nicely laid out plot. This is more of a series to get into to pass the time, it's actually really interesting and funny, (I haven't read all of it so... yeah I can't mark every tw)
Netflix- I am not ok with this
TW: cursing. short scene including lead up to sex. Quite a bit of gore in the last episode. Mentions of suicide. Police involved. Main characters smoke weed. Mention of drugs. Alcohol. Blood.
A dark comedy about a teenage girl, fed up with her chaotic life when suddenly out of nowhere, she obtains a strange power show doesn't know how to control.
Netflix- the end of the f***ing world
Tw: cursing. Knives. Decent amount of Gore. Rape talked about and almost preformed in one scene by a adult man to a younger character female. Grooming of adult male to younger character male for a short scene, (not showing any private parts) Off camera sounds and mention of torture. Mentions of murderer and a character who is a murderer. Guns. Gun shots/wounds. Alcohol and smoking/nicotine. Brief mention of drugs and small/short in camera scene of drugs. Sexual harassment including dialogue and sexual actions of a man to a woman. Knife wound/stab. Police involved. Medication/pain killers on screen. Suicide mention. PTSD of potential increased rape victim. Blood. dog death by getting run over. Car set on fire. House broke into. Convenient store robbed.
A wonderfully funny dark comedy show about two kids running away from home and getting into more trouble than they could ever manage. I think this show handles heavy topics really well so don't get too alarmed by the tw. It's actually a really funny series despite the tw so I would recommend taking a look and if you don't feel comfortable, don't keep watching, your mental health is extremely important my friend ):)
Netflix- avatar the last airbender
Tw: mention of genocide. Blood. Mental disorders and disabilities. Scars. Burn scars. Psychotic character. Hallucinations of psychotic character. Character death.
A very well written storyline with hilarious characters, interesting plot lines, and epic fight scenes. If you have already watched this series before, again, try and watching it again. This is a series to binge and or soak in bits at a time.
Hulu- the secret life of Walter Mitty
Tw: alcohol. Smoking/nicotine. Volcano evacuation/siren alarm sound.
This is honestly such a funny movie about a man who over daydreams to the pint of not knowing between reality and his own mind. He falls in love with his coworker and goes on this crazy adventure to obtain a single picture for the front page of a magazine his work is compiling. When I first saw this movie I honestly thought it was going to be another throw away movie of Ben Stiller's but it was actually really fricking funny and good. It doesn't get boring and the character is someone I can relate to :)))))
Hulu- what we do in the shadows
Tw: blood. Gore. Cursing. Alcohol. Sex on camera but honestly just for a second for a joke.
This comedy is about 4 vampires and one familiar living together in a house on Staten Island. (There is a movie you should watch first though, this is more of a spin off) It's a really really funny show and the humor is just amazing. Also, if this peeks your interest I would also suggest "The IT Crowd".
Ok, so that's all I can think of for now, I hope at least one of these will help, sorry if you don't have Netflix or Hulu, I kinda could only think of things on there 😬. But yeah, I really do send you good vibes through my good vibe-unator in hopes you will feel a little better. Take your time, drink water, eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner, stay active and have a good routine in your daily life, and take care of yourself, stay epic bro :)))) 👌👌👍👍
Hey if anyone has any funny movies, tv shows, anime, youtube videos, manga/comics, etc. you could recommend me I'd really appreciate it

Hi! Anon with the Sadie Churchill Oc! I have more lore! First, she ends up at Lackadaisy. I feel like she'd fit in better there. Plus, with her on their team, they have magick power. Just like how Marigold does with Nico and Serafine! How she ends up there or what she does, I don't know. Second, Walter or the Wraith only heavily influences Sadie. Meaning, he doesn't possess her, just gives her powers to do the killing. Unless he's really really pissed off. Which usually happens when Roscoe's present. Other than that, it's kind of like a Venom type of situation, without the who alien goo thingy and way more detached. Now, onto the lore which, is just a new Oc! Nicolas Seals. Once again, don't have a picture, but I can describe him. He's a Russian blue cat and a freelancing private detective that's tracking down what he dubs as "The Siren Killer". Which is Sadie, btw. He gave her this nickname, because her victims, when they aren't all over the place, have their ear drums busted out and their brains are turned into mush. Almost like they've been exposed to some kind of harmful frequencies.
He's a nice and friendly guy, but a bit of a stickler, hardass about the law. So much so that he lives up to his last name, Seals. Because every case he's ever been on, is a case closed. A serial killer on the loose? He'd have the identity of the murder within a year, tops. Robbers and Bootleggers that keep getting away? Behind bars, no time flat. While, those cases are well and good, catching speakeasies in the act is where he shines! Any Speakeasy he walks into, you might as well count it as closed when he leaves. Doesn't even matter if you hide the alcohol in the floorboards, he will find it. There is no, "Bribing him to turn the other cheek" like a lower paid officer in 1920s. He does his job and he does it well. Sometimes, a little too well.
He's only like this though, because his parents were murdered when he was young. And the police never found out who did. So, he vowed he'd be the best detective he could be so, no criminals, like the ones that killed his parents, would get away, like that, again.
He is also supposed to be Sadie's love interest in the present day.
🌹That’s awesome dude! Have you ever considered making like an actual fanfic about these characters? You’ve seemed to put quite the bit of time into this.🥀
🌹Also just a tiny side note, in the comic Marigold doesn’t really have any powers from the savoys (in cannon). It’s implied that most don’t really believe in their spirits, though, it is an OC story, so you can change this if you want🥀
