February is a Full Month
A random little one shot for @scrunkalicious because I figured Marly would do something like this.
-
Mordecai rolled over in bed. He got dressed, and walked to his office at the Marigold, the winter sun beating down as the wind blew the heat away.
He noticed something on the staircase. A little pink note.
It was definitely in Marly's handwriting, though he didn't stop to read it. He walked further up the stairs, and found more. Little nothings on them - 'I love you', 'sweetest thing', stuff like that. Mordecai walked to his door - it was covered in the little pink notes.
He furrowed a brow. "...it's the 27th," he thought, "surely she didn't...that was..." He walked inside, and there she was, sitting in his chair, at his desk, holding up at least 3 heart shaped boxes of chocolates.
"SURPRISE!"
"Marly, Valentine's Day was 2 Tuesdays ago." Mordecai said, "what on earth are you doing here?"
"It's still February." Marly said, walking over. "It's a whole month!"
"My desk is covered in roses."
"I knew you'd like it!"
"..."
"...you...you don't like it, do you?" Marly's ears drooped. Mordecai, quickly noting he'd done something wrong, held her, and put a hand on her cheek.
"I find the holiday a bit taxing for a while month." He said. "But I find you charming every day...every moment, every blink." He kissed her and hugged her, tightly. "Even if I think this was a bit much, I'm thankful you did it."
"Thanks, Mordecai." Marly said, smiling a little. "I...I can help throw out the notes!"
"I am keeping the notes." He said. "You wrote them. But...really, I do need to get to work."
"Okay..."
With that, Marly left.
-
"I shoulda known that'd be a bit dopey." Marly said, after a long day of ceaseless errands, work, and tedium. She padded back to the apartment, and hummed a little, walking up the stairs to find -
A little note.
It was in Mordecai's handwriting.
'You are very important to me.' A bit...severe sounding, but that was just Mordecai's...unique way of being romantic. She found another...and another - all with the same sort of austere nature one would expect from Mordecai.
Then, she opened the door, and he was hanging up a big piece of construction paper, with 'February is a Full Month' scrawled on it. He turned around, and a corner of it fell from the wall.
"...I...finished early at the office today." He said. "I didn't expect you home so-"
"MORDECAI THIS IS PERFECT!" Marly rushed him, and held him close. "This is great! I love you so much!"
Mordecai blushed and smiled, purring a little and holding her tight in his arms, picking her up a bit.
"I love you too. All month. And always."

@scrunkalicious It's complete! I hope you like it. I've included the warm-up sketches (and some artist notes) under the read-more!
I edited both images on my computer- I originally wanted to do this piece digitally but my week's been far too hectic to add another digital work to my list :( I'm hoping to rework one of them when I have more time.

NABCABL ~ {2: The Luthier Upstairs}
TUESDAY, JUNE 6, 1911
When Marly woke up, she got to work quickly. She cleaned around the apartment room, and she finished the majority of her chores. The Burmese then scraped up all of her money that she could find, and awaited for her parents to wake up. It was a Tuesday, so she knew that her father had already gone off to work, but she knew that her mother would wake up soon.
When Mrs. Divata walked into the main area of their apartment room, Marly smiled, already having changed and was now wide awake.
“Goodmorning, Mom!” Marly meowed. Mrs. Divata turned her head to look in Marly’s direction, a groggy smile set on the molly’s face. Marly’s mother padded over to the kitchen table, pouring herself a cup of coffee. Marly walked over to her mom as the coffee was poured. The young Burmese’s nose scrunched up ever so slightly, as she was never a big fan of coffee, or the smell of it. When Mrs. Divata finished pouring her coffee, Marly began to speak.
“So, I was thinking that I could get the cello fixed sometime soon, perhaps today?” Marly mewed, fidgeting with her fingers. Mrs. Divata thought for a moment, taking a sip of her coffee, before responding.
“Hm. Well, dad is off and work, and I need to stay home and take care of your siblings,” After another sip, Mrs. Divata continued, “How about you visit more neighbors, and I’ll think about it? We don’t even know if there’s anyone in the area who would know how to fix a cello, nevertheless someone who would take a job from a Filipino,” Her mother sighed, and so did Marly. She knew a little bit about the whole Asian immigration limitation by the law, but she didn’t know all that much about it. So, the Burmese just smiled at her mother, heading towards the door of their tenement room.
“Alrighty then!” Marly chirped, slipping on her shoes, then her cello case, “Today I’ll check out the upstairs neighbors,” The Burmese opened the door, waving goodbye to her mom.
“Bye, love you!” Mrs. Divata called out to her daughter.
“Love you too!” Marly chirped, before closing the door, a warm smile on her face. Marly stood out in the hallway of the tenement for a while, before softly skittering to the staircase. She adjusted the strap on her cello case, making sure it would stay on her back, before climbing the staircase, muttering to herself.
“One day I may as well end up tripping on this thing, then falling to my death, and my cello’s,” Marly mewed jokingly. Staircases were a bit of a challenge for the cellist and the bassist, whose instruments were either around their height, the same height as they were, or taller. For Marly, her cello, when in it’s case, went about to her shoulder when she and the case were both standing upright. Marly’s footsteps were quiet, despite the fact that she was lugging around a large wooden instrument. Soon the Burmese reached the next floor, and Marly thought it would be funny if she found the room that was right above her’s. So she counted the rooms, until she reached the ninth one. Marly took a deep breath, before knocking on the door softly.
For a few seconds, Marly was unsure if someone would answer, as there were no distinct noises of moving behind the door. But as a click could be heard as the door opened, her ears perked up. The young Burmese was greeted by an elderly cat, who started at Marly with a warm gaze. The tom-cat opened the door fully, revealing a well groomed pelt that fluffed up around his neck, almost like a boa feather drape.
“Goodmorning, young musician,” He meowed calmly, looking down at Marly. Marly smiled, and glanced at his right eye, which was a blank light blue. He was blind in that eye, it seemed. Marly smiled at her neighbor, his greeting was quite the unique one at that.
“Hello!” Marly chirped, “How are you?” She mewed. Most people would have her play something for them or have her let them touch her cello before deciding that she was a musician. This was the first time the Burmese has met someone who notices it how it is.
“I’m doing well, how are you, little one?” The tom-cat replies, “Would you like to come inside, it's probably better than standing out in the hallway,” He opened his door fully, gesturing for the cellist to step in. Marly nodded her head as she walked into his tenement room.
“I’m good, thank you,” She responded politely as she looked around. It was clear that this tenement had been in use for a while, and it's been taken good care of. The decoration was very cozy and warm, but a different warmth, unlike the summer heat. More so the type of warmth like that of a warm hug. The lights were dim, but were still bright enough that one could concentrate to do work. The tom-cat closed the door, looking over at Marly.
“You may call me Archie,” Archie meowed, smiling at Marly. The Burmese nodded her head as another cat approached them. She was a female manx cat, with a smaller build and small ears to go along with it. She was kind looking, and it was clear that she was quite the spunky one when she was younger. As she got closer to Marly, Archie went over to stand by his wife.
“I’m Della,” the manx molly mewed, giving Marly a kind smile.
When Marly looked closer, her ears perked up and her eyes widened as she noticed how Della’s left eye exhibited the same foggy blueness that Archie’s right eye had. Both cats had one seeing eye, along with one blind eye. Marly smiled as she glanced from cat to cat, though she didn’t mention it. They were like two halves of a whole, in this sense.
“Nice to meet you all!” Marly chirped, “Marly Divata,” The Burmese introduced herself. Archie smiled as Della spoke.
“Marly Divata…” She meowed, as if trying Marly’s name out, “The cellist?” Della asked with a small grin on her face. Marly’s ears perked up when she said that. It sounded like a nice title, one fit for her.
“Yes, the cellist!” Marly nodded her head, returning Della’s grin. Archie chuckled as he listened in, and Della’s eyes lit up as she pointed to her husband.
“You already know that he’s Archie, but many people around her know him as The Luthier,” When Della said this, Marly tilted her head. A luthier, she’s sworn that she’s heard the word before, but she wasn’t sure what it meant or where it came from.
“To put it more simply,” Archie piped up, “An instrument mender,” He held his arm up, motioning to a nearby wall. The lighting along this wall was different compared to the rest of the tenement room. It was brighter, as if this was the place’s main attraction, the spotlight. There were a lot of objects in this specific part, making it look cluttered from afar. Marly’s eyes widened as a smile crossed her face as she took it all in.
It was a workspace, that much was clear. With a large wooden desk, built to hold tools along one of the sides. The wall space above the desk held even more tools, spanning from wood files, hand saws of all sizes, clamps, sharpening tools, a lot of things often used for wood work. There were also several types of glue, the ones perfect for the repair of wooden instruments. Even glue for fixing a snapped bow. The array of materials placed in this work space were clearly Archie’s work, each thing picked out, preened, and placed in the place that would make it most useful to the luthier.
A luthier…someone who fixed broken instruments. This was perfect for the cellist! Marly quickly turned back to Archie and Della, slipping off her cello case as she spoke quickly.
“Oh my!” She started, “I didn’t know that a luthier is what an instrument mender is called, but I really need one right now,” Marly unzipped her cello case, gingerly showing them the crack at the top. “It’s not fatal at the moment, but I’ve heard that if they’re not fixed in a certain amount of time it gets worse. And my family isn’t sure where we could find a mender, or one that would take a job from us-” Marly stopped here, not wanting to mention heritage, before continuing after taking a deep breath, as she was out of breath from speaking fast. “And the neighbor next door doesn’t like asymmetry and the crack makes my cello like that and I needa get it fixed,”
After her rambling, Archie and Della looked at one another, before Archie chuckled softly. He held out his paw to Marly, motioning that he wanted to see her cello. Marly handed it over gingerly, and Archie took it, holding it by the neck, his paw just under the scroll.
"Well, it's just a small crack, I can probably get it fixed in three days," The tom-cat smiled.
Marly's eyes lit up as she smiled back, "Thank you!" She mewed, before quickly digging into her pocket, pulling out a small wad of money, along with some coins. It wasn't much, most of it was collected via playing out on the streets for fun. The Burmese waved it at Archie, wanting for him to take it. Archie stared at the money for a while, before reaching a furred paw out. As he did, Della looked like she was about to speak up, but her husband flicked his tail, so she hushed. Archie soon grabbed the money, sorting through it. As he held a few coins in one paw, Archie also held the minor wad in the other paw.
The elderly tom continued to hold the coins in his paw, but he held out the rest of the money back out to Marly. The Burmese tilted her head as she stared at the money in Archie’s paw. Why would he be holding it out to her? The total amount of money that she handed him wasn’t even enough to cover the actual cost of one full repair! Marly tentatively shook her head.
“Nuh-uh,” She mewed, “It’s for you, and Della,” She meekly whispered. Archie simply smiled.
“Take it. What I’m getting, these coins, are enough to pay for food for this week,” He pushed the money to Marly’s paw gently, and she grasped it, a small smile on her face.
“Thank you,” The Burmese mewed softly. Marly knew that the money she had wasn’t even enough to pay for a small repair, so Archie taking only a portion of the offered amount puzzled Marly, but she was grateful.
Archie, who was still holding Marly’s cello, motioned Marly over to his apartment room window. The young Burmese followed, and as she peered down the window. From the window, one could see the outside world, and that included the tenement building next to Marly’s. Said building, was the one that contained the Hellers.
“I was there yesterday!” Marly squeaked when she saw the building. Archie chuckled softly as he lay Marly’s cello down on the ground near his desk, before him and his wife joined Marly, all three of them peering down at the neighboring building.
“That’s right,” Della replied, “I remember me and Archie were talking over tea, and we spotted a small figure lugging around something almost as big as they were,” Both of the elder felines chuckled as Della said that.
“And you knocked on the door of the Heller House,” Archie meowed, “And they let you right in,”
“It's not often we see someone approach the Heller House, so it's nice to see someone going there for once,” Della put a paw on her hip.
“Oh, really?” Marly mewed, breaking her gaze from the window to look at Archie and Della.
Archie nodded his head, “Do us a favor, okay, Cellist?”
Marly grinned. A possible nickname, and one that fit like a pair of warm mittens. “Of course!” She chirped, “What is it?”
“It's not hard,” Della assured her, “We’re not going to make you go on some across-the-States journey,” They all laughed at that, and as the laughter ceased, Archie spoke up again.
“Just go over there, and befriend those Hellers. Like we said, it's been a while since we’ve seen someone go over there, and it would be nice to see those kittens being out and about with other's, alright?” He smiled softly.
Marly nodded her head, “I can do that,” she meowed.
“Good!” Della grinned, “Now, would you like some apple juice? We just restocked on it,”
Marly nodded her head once more, “That would be swell!” She mewed. The elderly molly smiled as she left to bring in beverages, and the three would discuss music theory, over a nice cup of apple juice.
So the little cellist now had a mission. One that she was happy to do. Befriend the Hellers. To be honest, Marly didn't need to be told to do something such as this. She would love this mission immensely. Though she did see a challenge in befriending Mordecai, that made it all the more fun for the Burmese.

Just a Little.
A vignette for @scrunkalicious
-
Mordecai crossed his arms, and blinked a few times. "Does it have to be that...bright?"
"What's the matter with bright?" Marly looked down at her clothes- they looked, to Mordecai, like something out of a pulpy science fiction magazine - garishly blue and pink. He furrowed a brow. "I could see you from my childhood apartment."
"Well, maybe I Like being this flashy!"
"..."
"Well, quit staring, we'll never get there if we keep staring at each other!"
With that, the two walked out. Mordecai tried to distance himself a bit, but Marly insisted on holding his hand, which softened him up a little. He even purred.
Just a little.
-
"Is this the one where-"
"Marly, please, we're in a theater."
Marly laughed. "It's a sing along, sourpuss!"
"Before a drama?"
"Well, I didn't program it, did I?" Marly leaned on him, her head on his shoulder, which caused him to jump before settling in.
He did begin to sing along.
Just a little.
-
"Well, THAT was a downer!"
"It was a Lon Chaney movie, what did you expect?" Mordecai remarked, a bit of a pleased smirk on his face.
"Just promise me you won't cut your arms off, okay?" Marly leaned into him.
Mordecai nodded. "I want planning on it."
Marly purred. "Thanks."
"Of course, ziskayt." He winced when he let that word slip.
"...beg pardon?" Marly asked. "Is that..is that Yiddish for something?"
"Don't worry about it, it-"
"I bet it's something nice, eh?" Marly nudged him. Mordecai huffed.
"...yes." he said. "It is." He smiled.
Just a little.
-
When the two got home, Marly did happen to change into something a bit less...blue. Mordecai looked over a few books for work, and felt hands on his shoulders.
"Thanks for actually letting me take you someplace - you never go anywhere other than that grubby office..."
Mordecai leaned back into Marly. He looked up, and leaned into her.
"I love you." He said. "I'm not the best at showing it, I realize."
"Oh, Mordecai..." she took the opportunity to kiss him. "I love you, too."
Mordecai stood, and held her close. He kissed her, softly. Nothing sweeping or romantic, that wasn't Mordecai's style.
He just held her, and pressed his lips to hers.
Just a little.

What are your thoughts on the other Lackadaisy OCs who are shipped with mordecai? I know you have a lot of lore for Halina and Mordecai, so I'm interested in your thoughts on the others! I believe one of these other OCs undergoes the name Marly? Thank you! :)
I love seeing other lackadaisy OCs who are shipped with Mordecai, I love seeing the different dynamics people have with their ships. I actually love hearing what others have in mind with their Mordeships. But I like it when Mordecai is kept in character, tho cute loving Mordecai is adorable, I just find him the way he personality vise is perfect and hilarious in a couple situation.
And Marly? I'm not quite sure I know who they are, I'm horrible with names sorry ^^;

NABCABL ~ {1: The Musician Next Door}
1911, June 5 (Age Count: Mordecai - 12, Marly - 10)
A Burmese cat slipped her arms through the straps of her cello case. Smiling, she checked herself out in the mirror. Marly wore her best suit, and had cleaned her case and her eyeglasses. She was young, but an aspiring professional cellist, and was already getting to it, being very talented for her age. Marly was content with how she looked for today and trotted down to see her parents.
"I'm gonna go play with the neighbors kids!" She called out, and her mom smiled at her.
"Gonna show them your cello?" Her mom chuckled.
"Yep!!" Marly exclaimed, and her mom smiled, allowing her to go. Marly dashed down the stairs as carefully as possible so she wouldn't lose her balance and fall down, breaking her instrument. Soon the Burmese reached the nearest tenement, and knocked on the door. She waited, and soon the door was opened, and a dark pelted molly stared down at her. She looked kind, and had soft eyes when she smiled at Marly.
The woman had glasses and was carrying a baby, her dark pelt had a bit of white markings here and there.
"Hello," She started, "Why, look at you all dressed up! Are you one of the new neighbors from over there?" The molly pointed to Marly's apartment building, and the Burmese nodded her head. Marly just now noted how tired she looked, but she brushed it off, not wanting to get a bad start with the neighbors! New York City is a big place, and because of this Marly thought it would be good to have a group of people and friends that you can count on.
"Yes ma'am!" Marly mewed with a smile, "I wanted to go check out and meet the nearby neighbors, and you and your family are some of them!" The Burmese peered at the baby her neighbor was holding, her ears perking up as her smile widened, "Oh she's so cute!" Marly exclaimed, and the molly smiled.
"That's Hannah," She meowed, "You can call me Zippy," Marly nodded her head, what a fun name! Zippy continued, "I have three other children, go meet them," She smiled softly. The Burmese nodded her head and entered Zippy's apartment room when gestured to. When she stepped in, the molly called out, "Rose! Esther! Mordecai! Our new neighbor is here to visit!!"
Soon, three tuxedo cats padded up to Marly. The smallest bounded up to her, young and bright.
"Hi! I'm Rose!!" She mewed excitedly, circling Marly, her tail swishing side to side. The next tuxedo was also a girl, and she smiled at Marly, her hair in one large braid.
"Esther, nice to meet you," Esther meowed, grabbing Rose's paw and gently pulling her closer to her sister. She seemed about Marly's age, perhaps.
The last tuxedo stared at Marly through his circular yellow framed pince-nez glasses, but didn't speak quite yet. He held a book in his paws, and he adjusted his sweater, as it was falling off one of his shoulders. Marly watched him with intent, taking interest in his character. If she remembered correctly, this one was Mordecai.
Footsteps approached them as Zippy stood behind Marly, smiling down at them all, "Mordecai, say hi to your new neighbor" She meowed. The tom kept his distance, but spoke.
"Hello," Mordecai mewed quietly, glancing down at his paws. Zippy led them to the couch, where Marly took off her cello case and lay it down in front of her as she sat down.
"I'm Marly," The Burmese mewed to them all. Rose waddled over to the instrument sitting next to Marly, eyes sparkling.
"What's this?" She asked, looking up at Marly, her tail flicking in curiosity. Esther looked at Marly with a smile, also wondering. Mordecai opened his book, but listened to the conversation.
"Oh, this?" The Burmese smiled, pointing to her cello, "It's my instrument, the cello," Marly mewed. Esther smiled widely, and Rose's tail wagged with excitement. At the word 'cello', Mordecai lifted his head up to look at the cello case, then at Marly, intent and interest in his eyes. Noticing this, she smiled softly at him, and hoisted her instrument to her lap as she began to unzip the case. "Wanna hear me play something?" Marly asked the three tuxedo cats. While Rose and Esther nodded their heads and exclaimed of how they wanted to hear her, Marly watched Mordecai instead. The tom looked at her instrument in her lap to avoid eye contact, but his gaze flickered up to hers as he spoke.
"Yes, please," Mordecai meowed quietly. Marly's smile widened, and she continued to unzip her instrument. She set the empty case down on the floor, and held her cello and bow in her paw. The Burmese sat on the edge of the couch, and pulled out the end-pin, adjusting it so that the cello would lay comfortably against her body. She quickly tuned her instrument, and then looked at her crowd of three. Rose was hushed by Esther as she wriggled around. Mordecai even proceeded to set his book down, and moved closer to the couch where Marly sat, staring at her and the cello as he watched her. When she decided that everyone was settled, the cellist took a deep breath, before setting her bow down to the string.
Marly proceeded to play Dvorak Cello Suite, closing her eyes, as she has already memorized the majority of the piece. She projected her sound and tone perfectly, each note ringing out and stopping when needed. The cellist used the perfect amount of vibrato on her notes, to help enunciate each one. The music was very emotional, capturing many different emotions in it's writing and notes. Marly played flawlessly, unaware that her crowd was in awe. Rose wasn't chattering away, Esther seemed more calm than usual, and Mordecai's eyes widened ever so slightly as he watched the Burmese. Despite being quite loud and probably clumsy, her movements seemed to flow when she was with the cello. Marly seemed like a whole new cat as she played, but it was just a side that only showed in certain situations.
After a few minutes she stopped, well knowing that the full performance would be about 40 minutes, and Marly also knew that Rose probably couldn't sit still and quiet that whole time. So when she finished movement one, she broke off the song when she finished movement one. Opening her eyes, she was met with the tuxedo cats, and Marly smiled warmly at them all as she grabbed her cello case, pulling it closer to her, ready to put her instrument away.
"Y'all like that?" She asked with a grin, and Esther nodded her head, Rose going off about "how cool the loud part was". Mordecai nodded his head, his ears flopping ever so slightly. The tom eyed the cello case, before speaking softly.
"May I see your cello, please," He meowed as he stared at the instrument. Marly pursed her lips as she thought. She rarely let other cats ever touch her most prized possession. Yet, by his nature and the way he looked at the cello and the way he watched her play, Marly decided that he wouldn't do anything horrible.
"Sure," the Burmese mewed as she stood up, slowly padding over to where he sat, and sat in front of him, but not too close. Taking the large wooden stringed instrument, she set it in his lap. Mordecai's gaze flickered up to hers, and he slowly took the instrument in his paws. Marly had left the end-pin still unscrewed, curious of what he would do. The tuxedo cat ran his fingertips along the body of the cello, and quickly reached to the end-pin, looking up at Marly as a small smile crossed the Burmese's face. He took this as an invitation to go ahead, and Mordecai quickly slid the end-pin back into the cello, screwing it back tight. He then ran his fingertips along where the neck of the cello was fitted to the main part of it, feeling how the two parts welded into one another. Marly's ears perked up as she watched him. His touch seemed very light along the instrument, as if the cello would crumble if he wasn't careful. Marly smiled softly as she noticed this. Most cats, if Marly handed them her cello, would have plucked all four strings way too hard, holding her priceless instrument in a way that made the Burmese surprised that the cello hadn't broken yet.
The tuxedo cat looked over Marly's cello, and his gaze lingered on the top half of the cello. Mordecai peered closer at something on the cello, and Marly knew that he was probably staring at the small crack in the top left side of her cello. Mordecai traced a finger over the little crack. It wouldn't be noticeable if Marly was far away as she played, like on a stage, but up close it was clearly present.
"There's a crack, on your cello," Mordecai mewed softly, looking up at Marly. Marly nodded her head. The crack has been there for a while. It wasn't that bad, but Marly needed to find time to fix it, and her family was quite busy.
"Yeah, I know," The Burmese sighed, "It happened a while ago. My parents were unloading the cello and dropped it, hence, it cracked. I'm going to fix it soon though," Marly smiled hopefully. Mordecai seemed to think it over a bit, before speaking again.
"The crack makes your cello asymmetrical," Mordecai replied matter-of-factly. Marly almost laughed, but she held it in. It seemed like a very out of pocket thing to say, she was unsure of what to respond.
Esther spoke up, "Mordecai isn't fond of things that aren't symmetrical," she mewed. Marly nodded her head, thinking.
"Oh," She started, "Well, I'll fix it soon, I promise," the Burmese mewed. Mordecai looked at Marly, nodding his head back slowly.
After a few minutes of silence, Mordecai gingerly picked up her cello, supporting it as he held it. Marly smiled as he handed it to her, and Marly took it in her paws, laying the cello on its side as she stretched to pull her cello case over to her. Rose trotted up to Marly, a wide smile on the toddler's face.
"I liked today!" She exclaimed, "Play more music for us!" Marly laughed cheerfully as she lay her cello into it's case, zipping it up.
"Then I will, but not today. I have practice and stuff," The Burmese smiled, standing up. "I guess I should probably go now," Marly grinned. She had things to do, but this was genuinely really fun. It was rare she would play for such a small audience like this.
As she walked towards the door, she spotted Zippy. Marly smiled at her, waving a paw at her.
"I think I'll head out now," She began, "Thank you so much for having me," As she was about to head out, Marly poked her head back in, asking Zippy a question. "If you don't mind me asking, what's your last name?" The Burmese felt more comfortable calling adults by a title, then their last name. Zippy looked at Marly, a kind smile on her face as the molly still held the infant, Hannah.
"Heller, that's this family's surname," She mewed calmly.
"Alrighty then, Ms. Heller! See you all soon," Marly grinned back, as she headed out the door, carrying her cello on her back. The Burmese dashed up the steps and floors of her own apartment, before reaching her own room. She knocked on the door, and the sound of scuffle behind the door was clear. Probably her siblings. The door slowly opened as her father smiled at her. Marly walked into the room with her family, slipping off her cello case and laying it down on the ground near the entrance.
"Hey Marly, how was it?" Her mom asked her, a smile crossing her dark pelted face. Marly grinned, taking a seat down onto the couch. As she was about to reply, a shout came from her younger sister, then one from her brother. Marly smiled, a chuckle coming from her lips. Sibling fights. The cellist soon turned to face her mother.
"It was really fun! They all liked the cello. And they were all very nice," Marly mewed. Her mother nodded her head.
"Really? How many of them were there?" Mrs. Divata meowed, excited to hear of their across the street neighbors. Marly's eyes lit up, she was always one who was happy to speak about her day and the fascinating people she had talked to.
Marly spoke of Ms. Heller, the kind molly who tended to her infant, Hannah. She spoke of Rose Heller, the ecstatic youngin who was always so chipper and smiling. She spoke of Esther Heller, the tuxedo cat who was probably her age, who always seemed so chill and nice. Marly spoke of Mordecai Heller, the quiet tom-cat who watched her playing so intently, and who was so gentle when he handled her cello.
Marly spoke of each of these cats so kindly, and as she spoke of each of them she knew she would give them another visit soon, with a new song to play.

3, 5, 6 :)
More asks and answers!! Lets go!! {{As I read these questions, I realized it would be silly to answer them in character, so every answer is out of character!! hooray Scrunkly/Marly-not-Divata makes an appearance here!}}
3}} How much do you and your s/i have in common?
Me and Marly have quite a bit in common! Both of us share the same gender (Female), pronouns (She/Her, but its okay if you use They/Them), ethnicity (FIlipina w/ a bit of Chinese), and hobbies (Music & The Arts)! We were both born in the USA, and we both have a birthday in April, though mine isn't on the 14th. I gave her a pretty similar personality to me, and the glasses she wears are a pince-nez version of mine (Basically I removed the temples and stuff).
5}} Would your s/i be considered a main character, side character, villain, or something else?
In comparison to the main/canon Lackadaisy story, Marly would be a side character! She joins the speakeasy in the year 1923, but before, she traveled the states on her own, so she has a story herself! After the downfall of the speakeasy, she leaves to do her own thing, but still visits every now and then. So, in short, a silly side character!
6}} How does your s/i play a role in the plot of the story? Do they help directly defeat the villain, support the heroes, etc?
She's a supporting side character in the story! In relevance to the main story, she's of those side characters that like pop up for like 17 seconds, do their thing, then leave, plotting their next (non-evil) move.
Thank you so much for your asks! I would have answered these in character but like idk how I would have worded that bruh

YAY! FIRST POST!
OK this is my first post on this blog, so I'm just gonna say a few things!
{1.} This is all gonna be Lackadaisy-related stuff!!! I'm so excited bcuz I have a few OCs I wanna do art of!
{2.} I'm gonna credit her each time seperately too, but I thought I'd mention it now too. One of my OCs' name is Remus, and he and my friend @scrunkalicious OC Juliee are friends (and kinda dating lol, we're still working on possibly getting them together in our main rp of them 😂) Anyway, I say that bcuz there'll probably be a lot of drawings of them together and Marly deserves all the credit for her awesome character!!!
{3.} Lackadaisy belongs to Tracy J. Butler, if you haven't read the whole comic and watched all the videos and the pilot and the season one trailer and subscribed to their YouTube and followed them on tumblr... you better go do it lol I got my eyes on you 👀
