"What's going on? This is Jareth, the Goblin King. He's scary, he's a bad guy, he's got my little brother," and then there's this weird tension, "Yeah, but he's manly, he attracts me. He's a man, I'm a woman, but I'm a child. I want to be an adult, I don't want to be an adult if that's what it means."

It is a tough and delicate material that needs to be handled carefully. And it's important. This is a big part of any teenager's life. They begin to understand sexuality, their motives and all that…And it's scary. You may take the wrong step if you are not careful in your actions. As a result, you know Sarah as a character, because Jareth keeps saying, "Come on, come on, I'll be there for you." And it is Sarah who makes the mature choice.
