I think the Disney+ Percy Jackson series and the Netflix ATLA series are about equivalent in terms of how good they are.

The casting is good, though the performances don't land 100% of the time. The effects are great and the overall look is impressive. The story line had to be adjusted to fit 8 episodes, sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. Changes were made and sometimes they're great and sometimes they don't work as well. Sometimes it's just different. But you can tell the people making it really care about the original.

Hey there, feel free to ignore this if you don’t feel comfortable answering, but I’ve seen several people allude to Demri having had some bad things happen/issues growing up. Obviously there will be a source to the pain she felt, but I don’t really know what it was. Is that information known? I know Xana said a bunch of stuff about her mom “damaging” her or something, but that felt very distasteful and she’s not exactly a reliable source!

To be honest with you, we don't know anything about that. We thought as well that her addiction maybe was because of some issues during her childhood, but we don't know. I think her mum loved her very much, she was just a kid herself when she had Demri, and then Demri grew up with 3 different step-fathers, what we guess was not easy.

Some friends said she smoked pot at school, some say she lived fast, as trying to runaway from something. We don't know if taking hard drugs was her next logical step after smoking pot, or if she did it because many in her circle of friends did.

Until very recently we didn't have any childhood pics of her, which was also weird, but I guess some of these things are very personal, maybe still hurt to many and want to stay private.

I wish whatever she had, she had a better support system, better therapy and understandment. I think if she was one of today's young girls, because there is more awareness about addiction and mental health, she would have survived...
