ꜱᴀᴀɴ? (ᴡᴏɴʏᴏᴜɴɢ x ʀᴇᴀᴅᴇʀ)
rq: yessiree @geeminz
pairing: ump (international student)wonyoung x La Salle fem!reader
Plot: y/n being hotheaded after school. Almost screams her head off at some poor girl. Thank goodness Wonyoung’s beautiful face calmed the crazy girl
Note: ik this isnt that good or well written but i couldnt think of a cute interaction 💔💔
It was just another hectic afternoon along Taft Avenue, where the relentless Manila heat made everything feel ten times more chaotic. The sidewalk was a river of students—some in the distinct green and white of De La Salle University, others in the maroon of UP Manila—rushing to their next classes, ducking into nearby coffee shops, or hailing jeepneys.
You—Y/N, a third-year student at La Salle—were trying to navigate through the throng with your arms full of books. The weight of your bag was digging into your shoulder, and the sweat was starting to form at your temples. The last thing you needed was another reason to be late for class.
As you weaved through the crowd, someone brushed past you with just enough force to make you lose your balance. The collision sent your books tumbling to the ground, and you felt a spark of irritation flare up inside you. You turned around, ready to go off on whoever it was that had caused this mess, fully expecting to see some careless brat who couldn’t be bothered to watch where they were going.
But before you could unleash your frustration, you found yourself looking at a girl around your age, with a UPM lanyard around her neck and a concerned expression on her face. She immediately bent down to help gather your scattered books, her movements quick and efficient.
“I’m so sorry!” she said, her voice laced with genuine worry. The sound of her voice stopped you in your tracks—it was soft and sweet, the kind of voice that could melt even the hardest heart. Any anger you felt immediately began to dissipate as you watched her carefully stack your books.
You took a deep breath, trying to suppress the last remnants of your irritation as you knelt down to help her. “It’s… it’s okay. I wasn’t really paying attention either,” you said, though you knew that wasn’t entirely true. The truth was, you were caught off guard by her unexpected kindness, and it left you feeling disarmed.
Once the books were gathered, she stood up and handed them back to you, her smile gentle and sincere. “I’m really sorry about that. I should’ve been more careful.”
For a moment, you just stared at her, trying to reconcile the image you had in your head—the bratty student you’d been ready to snap at—with the sweet, apologetic girl standing in front of you. You were about to brush it off, when you realized she was waiting for you to say something.
“Uh, thanks,” you mumbled, still trying to process the sudden shift in your mood. “It’s no big deal, really.”
She smiled again, this time a bit more relaxed, and held out her hand. “I’m Wonyoung, by the way. I’m sorry we had to meet like this.”
You shook her hand, feeling that same strange spark you’d felt earlier. “Y/N,” you replied. “And yeah, it’s… not the best first impression, I guess.”
Wonyoung chuckled, a light sound that made you feel strangely at ease. “Well, at least it’s memorable, right?”
You couldn’t help but smile at that. “Yeah, I suppose so. Are you heading to class too?”
“Yeah,” she nodded, glancing at her watch. “I have a class over at PGH, but I’m running a bit late, as usual.”
“PGH? So you’re a med student?” you asked, genuinely curious.
“Something like that,” she said with a small smile, but then her expression shifted slightly as if she remembered something but not before you said“Wonyoung… that’s an unusual name. Are you an international student?”
She blinked, caught off guard by the question. It wasn’t often that people asked about her name so directly. “Yeah, I am. I’ve been here for a while, though. My parents moved here for work when I was younger, so I guess you could say I’m a local now.”
“That’s cool,” you said, and she could see the genuine interest in your eyes. “It’s always nice to meet people from different backgrounds. Makes this city feel a bit smaller, you know?”
She nodded, feeling a strange warmth in her chest. There was something about Wonyoung that made you feel at ease, like you could talk to her for hours without running out of things to say. But as the pedestrian light turned green and the crowd began to move, you realized you couldn’t stand there chatting all day.
As you both started walking, you found yourselves naturally falling into step with each other, the conversation flowing as easily as if you’d known each other for years. You talked about everything—school, the challenges of being a student in Manila, even the best places to eat around Taft.
When you finally reached the intersection where your paths would diverge, Wonyoung hesitated for a moment before speaking. “Hey, I know this might be random, but would you want to grab a coffee sometime? I mean, if you’re not too busy with school and all.”
You felt your heart skip a beat, surprised by the invitation but also excited by the possibility. “I’d like that,” you replied, your smile widening. “I’m usually at the café near DLSU after classes. Maybe we could meet there?”
“Sounds perfect,” Wonyoung said, her own smile brightening. “I’ll see you then, Y/N.”
With a final wave, Wonyoung headed off towards PGH, while you continued on your way to class, a spring in your step and a smile on your face.

End of the First, PGH 0, LAK 1
Notes from the First
0:33 - LAK GOAL - LA is quick off the draw and score within the first minute of the period. Adrian Kempe gets his 16th of the year assisted by Anze Kopitar and Vladislav Gavrikov.
2:45 - PGH PENALTY - Rakell is called for interference after the faceoff. Shady call but it sends the Penguins to the PK, which has been their shining star the last few weeks.
The Penguins have a shorthanded chance with Acciari and Lizotte, but Lizotte is unable to connect with the net. They kill the PP off and limit the Kings to one SOG.
5:59 - LAK PENALTY - Foegele catches a holding call against Grzelcyk and it sends the Penguins to the PP.
Kings kill off the holding penalty on Foegele but the Penguins get 5 (!!!) SOG and a few good chances that don't connect.
Penguins are playing from behind now, wish this had been at the beginning because they were buzzing.
13:37 - PGH PENALTY - Cody Glass tripping penalty called. He's sent to the box and the Penguins are off to the PK for the second time in the period. They kill it off as well.
Little Penguin on Penguin violence...Geno catches Sid and the Captain goes down on the ice. Down the tunnel he goes but don't worry, Sid was back before the commercial break was even over. I have to go back and watch the replay of this because it all happened so fast.
Scoring Summary
0:33 - LAK GOAL - Adrian Kempe (16), Assists : A. Kopitar (27), V. Gavrikov (10)
Stats So Far..

why did you move to philly instead of nyc or la, nj
Because my husband lives here and he moved to pgh for me for 6 months while I had surgery for my chronic condition so when my lease was up we came back here so he could do what he needed and then we stayed because philly is nice and also we are too broke to move right now

It's a Hockey Night in the Music City! 🎶🎶
The Pittsburgh Penguins (14-14-5, 4th in the Metropolitan) take a visit to Bridgestone Arena tonight in the first game of their roadtrip before the holiday break to play the Nashville Predators (9-17-6, 7th in the Central)
The Penguins are coming off of a thrilling comeback OT win at home against the LA Kings, a team that had been riding the high of a 5-1 blowout against the New York Rangers at MSG on Saturday.
Conversely, the Nashville Predators are also fresh off of a win against the Rangers, which saw goaltender Juuse Saros collect his third shut out of the season.
This is the first of two meet-ups for the teams this season, with the final one coming in early February.
Some Notes and Facts
The Predators are 10-6-3 at home against the Penguins in the regular season.
The last time these two teams met was back in April, when the Penguins had gotten a second wind in an attempt to push themselves into the playoffs while the Predators were a sure lock in the Central. Nashville would go on to play the Canucks in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs and lose in 6 games.
In the meeting back in April, Crosby had scored a power play goal seven minutes into the game, which set the tone for the Penguins. Karlsson, Reilly Smith and Emil Bemstrom had also made the goal scoring sheet that night as the Penguins were led to a 4-2 win.
Predators' captain Roman Josi has not played since Dec. 10 after sustaining a lower body injury in a game against the Dallas Stars. Even though the 34 year old Swiss defenseman participated in morning skate today, he was ruled out of tonight's game.
On the other side, the Penguins are coming into this game without defenseman Marcus Pettersson who also sustained a lower body injury in a game against the Senators. To make up for the loss, last night the Penguins made a move that brought back former blue liner P.O Joseph, who had been a free agent that went to the St. Louis Blues. Joseph traveled to Nashville but is not playing in tonight's game.
Goaltending Matchup
PGH- Coach Mike Sullivan confirmed this morning that Tristan Jarry will be starting in net for the Penguins tonight. Jarry is 3-0-2 and has a 1.97 GAA and a .928 SV% against the Preds.
NSH- While coach Andrew Brunette hasn't announced a goalie for tonight yet, it would be safe to say that Justus Annunen will be between the pipes, based on Saros' performance Tuesday night. Annunen is 7-5-0 overall this season with a .890 SV% and 2.91 GAA.
The 24 year old Fin was recently acquired from Colorado at the end of November. He has played 2 games for the Preds, with a 1-1-0 record.
Leading Scorers
PGH points and assists leader is Sidney Crosby (31P, 23A, 8G)
Rickard Rakell leads the Penguins in goals, with 14 total and 3 coming on the power play. Fun fact from the Pens PR department : "Since Team Sweden left him (Rakell) off the Four Nations roster, Rakell leads all Swedish-born players with four goals and eight points in six games." Pretty incredible turnaround for Rakell who had a less than stellar 2023-2024 season that was hampered with an upper-body injury that had him sidelined for 12 games in November.
NSH points and assists leader is Roman Josi (23P, 16A, 7G). Unfortunately, Josi will be unavailable for the game tonight.
Filip Forsberg leads the Preds in goals with 9 total and 3 PPG as well. Forsberg is coming off his best season with the Predators last year where he scored 94P (48G, 46A, 13PPG, 19PPA).

That trade started a whole mess wherein paige started fighting w minors on twitter and bullying them, and she and kappy broke up and she deleted her moving to pgh playlist.
