Okay I like Kybe and all, it’s a really cute ship but I think I like them more platonically. Like Kyle will let her paint his nails or Bebe will do something sporty with him (I personally see Kyle doing basketball or something with ice skating throughout highschool.

I can also see Kyle talking major shit about Bebe’s ex’s if she ever needs to vent: “Well fuck him dude!” “That’s the problem! I already did!” “…oh…we could egg his house?” “Oh fuck yeah let’s go!”

And I don’t think Kyle would cry often (especially infront of people) but if she finds him crying or notices he looks like he’s been crying she’ll drag him to her house, no matter what time it is or what they’re doing: “Kyle? What happened?” “…I don’t wanna talk about it-” “Oh that’s alright hun. Come on, I think you need a self care day.” (She also has a bunch of soft plushies and both of them like soft things)

Why Kyle Broflovski Shouldn't Be in a Relationship Just Yet.

During one my occasional musings about South Park, one question I asked myself was: why hasn't Kyle gotten a long-term relationship arc like Stan has? But then I thought about it and realized that one potential reason is that, when you really think about it, Kyle has some toxic personality traits that show he isn't actually relationship material. My explanation will be framed in the form of my opinions on three Kyle-based shippings that frequently crop up in the South Park fandom that wouldn't really work when you think about it. Those three shippings are Style, Kyndy, and Kybe.

First, I want to talk about the shipping between Kyle and Stan. My opinion on it is pretty much the same as others I've seen on here. First off, just because two people are best friends doesn't mean that they're relationship material with each other. Second, even if the two did have romantic feelings for each other, they probably wouldn't be very compatible with each other. Stan is well-meaning but reserved, preferring to listen and only provide his input when he's explicitly allowed. Kyle, on the other hand, is more extroverted but doesn't always express it in a healthy way. When you pay attention to some of Kyle's scenes, such as when he's talking about an "important" issue, he expresses his opinions so forcefully and, to be honest, condescending, that it feels like he's more interested in simply forcing his opinions onto anyone who tries to listen than actually having meaningful discussions. Not to mention, when Stan was going through his first major depressive spell, he was pretty quick to abandon his efforts to make him feel better because he "couldn't handle the negativity," which makes me feel that some toxic positivity might be included.

There also seems to be a small contingent of fans who want Wendy to leave Stan for Kyle. While it's true that they have some similarities, such as their intelligence and morality, those differences are surface level when you really examine them. As mentioned earlier, Stan is more of a listener than a conversationalist and that seems to be all Wendy is looking for. She really wants to be heard and taken seriously, and Stan is more than happy to indulge her if that's all she wants. Kyle, on the other hand, might start acting overbearing toward Wendy and refuse to take her seriously, especially if she disagrees with him on something, not to mention that if things get really heated between them, Kyle might even stoop to hitting Wendy while Stan would never do such a thing. Kyle might also get possessive of Wendy, especially when he thinks she might leave him for a different boy. Take for example the whole business with Brydon: Stan calmly told Wendy that he wouldn't stand in her way if she wanted to pursue a relationship with him, instead. Possessive? To an extent, but the way he went about it is a clear indicator that he genuinely cares about Wendy and just wants her to be happy. Kyle, on the other hand, might have become selfishly jealous and outright demanded that Wendy not talk to Brydon, which would just drive her away, anyway.

The last potential suitor of Kyle's that I want to talk about is Bebe. Ever since the episode, "Clubhouses," Bebe hasn't even expressed a passing interest in Kyle and went straight for Clyde. The way Bebe expressed her interest in Kyle, however, strongly implied to me that Bebe really only cared about the image of being in a relationship rather than the person she's dating. But if you pay attention to some of Bebe's later episodes, you'll notice some signs that Bebe wouldn't have been a good girlfriend to Kyle, anyway. The whole incident with the shoe store, in my opinion at least, is a pretty clear indicator of what Bebe's real priorities are regardless of her claims that she wants to be either a lawyer or marine biologist. Material possessions seem to be one of her primary concerns and the fact that she was willing to manipulate her "boyfriend" Clyde to get what she wanted shows that hurting other people's feelings isn't too big of a concern for her. Therefore, there's the very real possibility that if Kyle became Bebe's boyfriend, she would immediately start molding him into her little fashion accessory who only exists to give her gifts. Not to mention, the fears I expressed about Kyle's potential treatment of Wendy would also apply.

So now you might be asking, "Then who do you think Kyle would be a good match for?" To be honest, I don't think he should jump right into that. As you might have gathered from this post, Kyle, for all of his good qualities, still has too many toxic traits that will get in the way of forming a loving, committed relationship with someone. He might be smart and morally upstanding, but what he needs to work on is being respectful of other people's opinions and choices, not giving up so easily, and understanding that just because he can do something doesn't necessarily mean that he should. Once he does get those figured out, he should absolutely get his own long-term romance arc just like Stan and Wendy have.

Oooooh, this is going to be a long one.. I always thought that my view of the South Park characters were pretty boring so here are my first impressions:

Kyle broflovski

Sexuality Headcanon: I personally think he’s straight, I feel like I’ll get a lot of shame because of this but I never really saw him as a bisexual man let alone a gay man😭 I’m so sorry. But on one hand I do kind of see him being a Demisexual? I don’t know if there is really that much evidence to it but I feel like him being Demisexual. I can also see Asexual Kyle too? I think he’s straight but definitely not allo.

Gender Headcanon: I think he’s a cis man, but trans boy Kyle sounds like a good headcanon? It mostly rooted from Cartman’s sexist jokes but it sounds pretty cool, I’m down for more trans rep! Even if it’s from canonically cis characters..

A ship I have with said character: Kybecca is so fuckwg cute !!!!!!! The way Kyle guides her into relationships was adorable. I also like the dynamic of a shy awkward inexperienced-in-relationships girl and a nice (a genuinely nice) guy who helps her out when it comes to relationships!!! Fucking blorbos.. I want to hold them around like 2 little kittens :( I also really see the potential in Kychole and I wish it got more recognition, it would’ve been an actually great chance for him to get a girlfriend, fuck you Cartman, like honestly.

A BROTP I have with said character: It’s probably going to be Style, of course. Their friendship is honestly very cute to watch, but it can also get a bit sad at times (ex: assburgers). I also like Tokyle, Kyutters, and Kybe as a brotp. Tolkien and Kyle being mom best friends, looking over at their insane children fighting like little chihuahuas, while talking about mom things.. hwoedhsj. And also Kyle and Bebe being best friends gossiping to each other and spilling the tea (this wasn’t my idea though). I’m a bit stuck towards Kyutters though, cause I only thought of it just now.

A NOTP I have with said character: I used to like this ship A LOT, but now I have to say it’s Kyman. I can still see the potential in One sided Kyman and I always saw it being a thing somehow, but that’s as far as I’ll go for this ship nowadays. Kyman just feels weird, and all it took was a couple of callout posts for me to eventually lose interest in it.

A random headcanon: Kyle is the most simplest guy EVER. His music taste isn’t a specific genre and it all goes down to “well I like music as long as it sounds good”. He doesn’t like a specific type of food and is just like “I like any food as long as it’s good”. He’s the least fashionable and most distasteful guy in town, and his friends (the main 4 ofc) attempted to try and get him into fashion and introduce him to different kinds of genres (whether it be music, movies, or whatever) to see which one he’d consider to be his favorite. But it NEVER worked out, he’s just that boring. (Yeah, I’m projecting onto him, what about it)?

General Opinion over said character: He’s honestly such a well developed character, he’s not exactly my fave but I can definitely understand his popularity and place in this fandom! He’s just a lil guy :)

Stanley marsh

Sexuality headcanon: I think he’s either straight or bisexual, but all I know is that he definitely went through a bicurious phase. Remember how confused he was when Wendy turned out to be trans? He was also confused about Tweek and Craig’s whole relationship! He doesn’t know where he stands on the LGBT spec but he’s still trying to figure it out.

Gender headcanon: I only thought of this just now but demiboy Stan. I also like to think he’s experimenting with his gender, and it goes down to the examples I listed trying to describe his sexuality from my perspective. He’s open to people using any pronouns on him, and I love that for him :)

A ship I have with said character: Stendy, I remember drawing Stendy A LOT over here. I still love their relationship but not as much as I used to. Although, I have to say that I still yearn for their good ol’ girlboss and malewife dynamic.. I would also consider Stolkien because their current relationship reminds me of a forbidden romance, it’s honestly interesting to look at it that way. I like to think he tries to get together with Tolkien in an attempt to open more doors for relationships, relating to his whole bicurious and gender questioning thing.

A BROTP I have with said character: Just like the brotp I have for Kyle, it’s Style. I also really like Stary as a friendship. I honestly hope that Gary might make a comeback and Stan would spend more time with him, while the rest of the main 4 gets absolutely mad they are hanging out with such a “wuss” and not with them instead >:( but unfortunately Gary is just a one and off character.

A NOTP I have with said character: I honestly don’t know what notp I have for him, I don’t seem to have any Stan ship that I actually loathe. I’m pretty sure I stated before that I LOVE ships featuring stan despite him not being my fave. Which is a bit weird to think about, but I’ll just leave it as a mere coincidence for now.

A random headcanon: Despite the fact that Stan’s goth phase was supposed to happen because of the fact Wendy broke up with him, he actually developed an interest in the goth style and still (secretly) hangs out with the goth kids. The goth kids don’t seem to mind being around him and they’re nice enough to actually guide him through the goth style! Stan REALLY enjoyed getting into it and the goth kids developed a soft spot for him, they’re a bunch of softies on the inside :( Stan would also wear a bunch of edgy black t shirts under his jacket because he just got soooooo into it. And his friends still don’t know about it, his interest in goth culture is still a secret, mostly out of fear of being ripped on.

General Opinion over said character: I honestly like him because he slightly reminds me of myself? We aren’t ENTIRELY similar but I can see myself in him. I also find a lot of his ships tasteful.

Kenny McCormick

Sexuality headcanon: I used to think he was a straight aromantic but now I can see him being pansexual, like I’m pretty sure he would love ANYTHING with titties. Him being a closeted pansexual aro is honestly very swaggy in my book. I say closeted because he literally lives in a family of rednecks, I think he’ll have to deal with a lot of internalized homophobia here. And I think it’s interesting to explore that in him! (The internalized homophobia idea was again not mine).

Gender headcanon: he’s a cis GNC man, he’s perfectly fine with identifying as a man but he loves dressing up as a princess, and he still does it from time to time!

A ship I have with said character: I don’t think I have any ship with him aside from Kenman. Their dynamic works very well and the way they laugh at each other’s jokes is so fuckeng adorable. I think their friendship should be explored more often, both in the actual show and in the fandom. There is a lot to unpack there. And also the way they carry a BFF necklace, adorable.

A BROTP I have with said character: Kenman again (I like it both romantically and platonically). I’m not used to ships with Kenny in them so I’m sorry if this is EXTREMELY bland.

A NOTP I have with said character: I’m sorry to say this but I never really found Bunny interesting.. that’s all I have to say, I’m sorry if that disappoints any of you.

Random headcanon: speaking of Kenny loving to dress as a princess, he sometimes roleplays as princesses with his little sister Karen, they come up with the most dramatic storylines ever and Kevin gets so annoyed by it sometimes and tells them to shut up. This one time Kenny and Karen stayed up all night playing dress up and they talked so loudly, that everyone woke up by the stupid annoying sounds they made. They never stopped doing it, and it was hell on earth for everyone else aside from these 2 mfs >:) I think there was also a point where all the other people around them heard it, but it was rather faint, so it took a while for everyone else to notice the loudness of it all.

General Opinion over said character: I never really thought about him, so my impression of him is a bit boring. But I’m hoping to dig more into his character if that’s what you guys want!

Sexuality headcanon: gay for sure! I’m not sure when, but I think he eventually realizes that the girls he tried to date in the past were just girls he wanted to be friends with… but with how stark the gender divide in south park is, he wasn’t sure how else to approach it besides asking them on a date. the moment he realizes he’s gay though he FULLY commits

Gender headcanon: man! i lean towards saying cis man, but I do love the headcanon some people have about trans man kyle and it’s something i can relate to myself, so I’m down with that too 🥰

A ship I have with said character: STYLE FOR SURE, certainly my Kyle OTP <3 but I think I can be sold on almost any gay Kyle ship. a sweet one that allymumu and i have talked a bit about is garky garyle (Gary/Kyle). just Gary struggling, thinking he has to completely turn away from his faith in order to be true to himself as a gay man and Kyle showing him that he doesn’t have to choose <3

A BROTP I have with said character: KYBE!! god I adore Kyle and Bebe as being besties. maybe they dated once?? but now they’re just the best of friends, sharing curly hair tips, talking about hot guys, enabling each other to go crazy and yell at/punch someone who’s shit talking them or someone they care about

A NOTP I have with said character: ky/\man. pushing their names apart as best i can w the slashes. I don’t think I need to explain further.

A random headcanon: I think he’d really love traveling on trains. Like, planes have so many people crammed into them and they’re such a hassle and the whole airport process (security, boarding, etc) SO long… I think, if Kyle could, he’d much prefer to ride on a train somewhere.

General opinion over said character: a very cool guy!! I’ll admit, I’ve always liked Kyle but never much thought on him in my early sp fandom days… but I started to follow so many Kyle lovers that I grew to love him myself 🥰 he now feels very integral to the south park experience!! I’m aware there’s a lot of, uh, discussion around him constantly but I know how I feel and I just do my best to not interact with those that feel another way. it’s just me out here with Kyle, vibing.

Dangerous Questions

Sometimes people disappeared. No one talked about it much, but most people knew someone who knew someone who was gone. It was always talked about as if the person had left on their own, but Ro had to wonder. Knowing that you should never let anyone hear you criticize the government, it seemed obvious to wonder what happened to people who did.

Kybe was the person she was closest to who had lost someone closest to him, an uncle, and Kybe was pretty sure his uncle had been against the government. He couldn’t say how– it had been years ago when his uncle disappeared, so he had been young–  but he said he’d known it for sure, and Ro believed him.

Now Ro had to wonder even more. Ro had never heard her father criticize the government. She would have been surprised to hear her father criticize the government. And it was clear by now that her father was gone.

He couldn’t have left of his own free will. Set aside the fact that he loved his family and would have told them where he was going. He hadn’t taken his phone. He would have taken his phone.

“Did you check his phone?” Kybe asked. He’d been sympathetic at first, but it had been a day or two and Kybe always had questions, even if they were usually questions Ro had already had herself. Before she could answer, Kybe went on, “You might not have his passcode. I have my parents’ but he might be more careful.”

“I have it. He didn’t give it to me but I saw him use it.” Ro didn’t mean to sigh. She was surprised when she heard herself. “The phone won’t turn on.”

“Like…?”

“Probably just out of battery life? But we can’t find the charger.”

“You could– No, you couldn’t.”

Ro nodded. Kybe had remembered– her father didn’t have the phone most people did. When anyone asked, he always said he refused to be pressured into getting a “cool” phone, because he had never cared about being cool anyway.

She narrowed her eyes. That couldn’t be considered criticism of the government, could it? The government didn’t have anything to do with the popularity of a phone, did it?

Anyway, she couldn’t use someone else’s charger because they wouldn’t work with his phone.

“Do we know anyone else who has that phone?”

Ro almost asked what kind of phone his uncle had had. She stopped herself. Why was she assuming his phone had something to do with his disappearance? If it had, why wouldn’t– well, why wouldn’t his phone be gone too?

And either way, it couldn’t be a good idea to point out a similarity between her father and someone who had criticized the government and then disappeared.

Ro couldn’t think of anyone else who didn’t have the usual phone, so she told Kybe so. “You really think his phone would tell us anything if we could get into it?”

She could hear the shrug in his voice. “If not, it would tell us that it couldn’t tell us anything.” He was quiet for a moment. “I might know where we can get a charger. I’ll let you know.”

When he showed up with a charger, she didn’t ask where he’d gotten it from.

His phone had to sit on the charger for a few minutes before it would turn on. Ro did remember when instant half-charge came out for her phone. It hadn’t been that long ago. She’d gotten used to it quickly.

The phone turned on. They opened his messages. Ro’s eye fell first on a “thank you” from herself, which she remembered sending him when he’d said she could stay out late. A “love you too” to her mom. Her eyes skimmed up the page to the top text, the most recent one. No name, just a number.

Ready as I can be. I’ll be there.

Biting her lips, Ro clicked into the conversation. It was just that one text.

“He deleted the conversation, I guess?” she said, looking up at Kybe. “And then sent this–”

“That doesn’t make sense.” Kybe continued her thought process out loud. “If he was deleting things why wouldn’t he delete this too? If the last text was from them, I’d think it was just because it came in later and he didn’t see it. But–”

They looked at each other over the phone again.

“It doesn’t really do us much good,” Ro pointed out. “It doesn’t say where… there is. Or how he was going to be ready. We don’t even know this has anything to do with anything. It could have been about something else.”

Kybe didn’t answer. That meant he didn’t think so.

“And again,” said Ro, handing him the phone, “it does us no good when it’s so vague.”

“It was probably vague on purpose.”

“Probably. But.”

“What good would it do if we did know where? Would you go?”

Ro started to think about it and then shrugged. “Easy for me to say yes when we don’t know and aren’t going to find out.”

He tilted his head. “We could try.”

Ro narrowed her eyes at him.

“He did leave it. And he didn’t delete the last message.”

“He didn’t leave the charger.”

“Mm-hm. We had to find a charger ourselves. But the phone was here if we did.”

Had he wanted them to go looking for a charger? “Where did you find it, anyway?”

A smile flickered over Kybe’s lips. “Do you want to know?”

Did Kybe know something he didn’t know?

Or was he getting the same sense she was, that these might be questions that might lead to them disappearing?

She wanted to know what happened to her father.

She took a breath. “Yeah.”

I guess I'll take this opportunity to explain in full. I was gonna do a Down The Rabbit Hole-style dissection of everything to do with Ric but I guess I'll just summarise normally :P

Long story short, ric122 (Richard Agosto) is a guy with a massive obsession with Stendy and, more specifically, adult Stendy where they have kids. He got pretty infamous a few years ago for going to SP bloggers on tumblr, including many who didn't ship Stendy or did art by commission instead of requests, and asking them 'Will you draw adult Wendy Testaburger Marsh with her son?'

As well as kinda giving Stendy an unfairly bad reputation in the fandom for quite a while, Ric also has a really gross tendency to steal people's writing without credit or slightly rewrite fics about other ships to be about his own ships, including shipping Wendy with his fan kid Sam Marsh, because he's a gross piece of shit like that.

As you might imagine, people in the SP fandom didn't particularly like him for this, so it became a big meme to joke about Ric asking people to draw adult Wendy Testaburger Marsh with her son (which I did my share of XD).

After looking into him more, people found some more screwed up stuff, from his youtube channel where he sang about loving Stendy and Kybe and hating Kyman, to his Twitter where he said homophobic, racist and pro-Trump shit and posted boners he got from watching Riverdale, to his Facebook where he publicly shares his gross incest fanfics despite his mom being one of his few friends on there.

The last big trend to involve Ric before he kinda stopped being talked about so often was when people decided to respond to his drawing requests... by drawing Kyman to piss him off. (I don't remember if people who don't ship Kyman did it too but either way it was pretty hilarious.)

He pops up in conversation occasionally when he does stupid shit (I think he launched a Change.org campaign and changed it to be about getting his fan kids and adult Stendy into the show after a bunch of non-SP fans signed thinking it was something else), but since he originally came to the fandom's attention back in like 2017 he's kinda become an old meme we see again occasionally when he does dumb shit. If you wanna see some of the old posts about him they're all tagged as ric122 on my blog.

He usually copies the ask layout of someone who I had just finished doing a request for and changes it to whatever he wants to request. Sometimes it's not just Wendy's son but BeBe's as well...or something Stendy/Kybe related.

The oc they we're talking about IS Wendy's son. Black Hair, Blue eyes, Brown Jacket and Purple Scarf...a character with those features appears when you search his name.

I mean I can understand why you'd think I was being rude, and I am sorry about that but they've done this to me before so I can recognize their antics by now.

(💞) nothing please me more than kybe. Like them having to sneak kisses in the library, or be 'forced' to go on double dates with stendy. Getting into huge arguments and not talking for days before one caves in. Soft handholds on the bleachers. Chem and PE partners. Bee being jealous of anyone who even talks to Kyle which makes him mad and they argue. Like, he goes to play some ball to blow off steam and lo and behold bees there. He ignored her and misses a shot, she grabs the ball and hands it to him with a soft face and he just rips it out of her hands. They argue some more and he grabs his bag but she tugs on the straps until he let's go, while arguing, and she falls and he's like fuck I'm a dick. And leaves her there crying like angst please
