There are certain days / days where I suddenly feel all alone

He hears the alarm, the one Kurona set up the night before so he could ensure that he is ready when the time comes. He hated the mornings, grumbling while rubbing his eyes open. Ranze then remembers why he got up so early, the date you two had planned—well, the one you surprised him with.

A smile makes its way onto his face, sudden waves of emotion over coming him as he shakes off the smile, taking note of the way his teeth seem taunt him as he can’t find happiness without feeling a little self conscious.

Whenever those days come / you tell me how precious I am

He remembers in the years he had know you, how you would always make Ranze feel special about his teeth and tell him how unique they were, comforting him of his insecurities. It was often that people would compliment his teeth, as to only getting backlash on them, you seemed to be the only person who would want to make him smile more.

And so he did. Now looking at the mirror, kurona cracks a smile at the thought of you, and you being the reason for his bright smile.

All those words you say / I turn into someone special

“There you are! I was getting worried I wouldn’t be able to find you.” Coming up from behind him, you grabbed his hand.

Once facing you, Kurona saw the smile on your face, smiling back at the hope he could resemble your own smile.

“Lets go, I Wanna show you the sharks. So cool,” giving your hand a soft squeeze, he led you into the entrance of the aquarium.

A place Ranze had always been fond of, so when you mentioned taking him he couldn’t help but smile until he brushed it off.

“Don’t do that Ranzeee, please i Wanna see that pretty smile of yours.”

You had wrapped around your finger, Ranze would do anything you told him. So with a blush covering his face, he looked back at you showing you the smile that he use to hate. Now embracing it more, as it was the reason for your happiness.

That’s what you do / again I feel special

Now facing the glass, Kurona was able to show you which shark was which. Telling you facts of each one that he had somehow memorized.

It being a trait that you had told you found cute once, so every since that day — He would take time out of his day researching about them along with animals that fascinated you.

I just wanted to hide / Didn’t wanna face the world

Everything was going well, as you two kept walking around looking at the wonders of the aquarium. That was until Kurona noticed the staring from a the small kid, it shouldn’t have been this bad, but then the kid bursted out crying.

He knew why, all because of the damn smile of his. Ranze had laughed at what you said, his smile evident and catching the eye of the young child.

That smile, mainly his teeth, being the cause for the child cry’s. He looked away, hoping that the mother to the child wouldn’t notice the perpetrator that didn’t even mean to be. Guilt, along with his insecurities flooding back into him.

Then you appeared before me / with a warm smile, you held of your hand

“Hey, focus on me, us Ranze.” You grabbed his chin, making him face you.

Like the sun shines, your smile made his heart blaze with love, not looking away from the smile that made his days.

“It doesn’t matter what the hell that kid thinks. You have the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen, imagine being able to resemble an animal with those teeth? Is that not cool or what?”

Ranze bit his lip, trying so hard to not let out a smile at your words. Becoming flustered at the words you spoke to him, looking away from your gaze.

“Cmon Ranze, show me that pretty smile of yours.” He couldn’t believe the teasing you were doing to him.

“Stop… it’s embarrassing [name]. So embarrassing.” Even with what he had said, he knew he couldn’t deny your request any longer. Finally letting his smile show, only for you.

“I love you [name]” he muttered, pulling you in for a hug. Hiding his face in the crook of your neck, finding comfort in you.

Everything’s alright / From nobody to somebody, I became a very special me

“Today was so fun, tired though… so tired.” The day came to and end, with you and kurona heading over to his home to spend the night with one another.

“Almost home Ran… just wait a little bit longer and then we can rest.”

It was once you two finally arrived at his home, that he plopped into the couch. Sighing at the softness that came from the blanket.

“Wanna watch something?” You knew what he actually meant, in the end you two would end up cuddling with Ranze holding you tight not wishing to let go.

It’s not like you mind though, the movie in the background played as you tried to focus on it. But it was so hard, with the way Ranze kept nuzzling in your neck—placing soft kisses, you couldn’t help but grow tired. Eyes soon closing shut, falling into slumber.

Looking up, He saw the peaceful face you held while sleeping. He doesn’t know how many times he’s smiled today, but since it’s you—his smile will not once come off his face.

Kurona loves your hair. It doesn’t matter if it’s short or long, it’s still beautiful to him. He loves playing with your hair, making little braids because “braiding’s fun, fun”. He loves it when you play with his hair too, and when you redo his braid. It’s something you both love.

Kurona doesn’t really talk that much, but he still makes it known that he loves you. He’s so affectionate in private. His favorite thing to do is playing with your hair, obviously. It calms him down and he doesn’t know why. Whenever he’s bored there’s always a hand in your hair. You don’t mind though because it’s very calming. He’s never too harsh and he’s does the cutest hairstyles.

If you two ever have a kid, especially a daughter, her hair is never going to look bad. He would love doing her hair too, making it his mission her hair never looks boring.

Isagi: You reached for the same ice lollie flavor at the same time. The weird, grandpa, unpopular flavor mind you. He thought that if one person had to have the same quirky preferences as he did, it had to be his other half. 

Kurona: You had the same childhood plushie as he did, but it’s not a popular brand, so he found it scary, he definitely thought this was a sign from the universe that the two of you were meant to be.

Shidou: You always say the same things as he does at the same time as he does. Obviously it happens often. But with the two of you ? It happens a LOT and for precise things and it’s not even like you spend too much time with each other… It’s almost freaky. 

Rin: You have the other half of a very curious rock he found once. He picked it up because it was really pretty and appealing somehow, only to find out that you have basically its other half, or at least a rock that looks suspiciously similar to his and fits perfectly in. 

Kaiser: You are physically connected to him. As in, you make the same movements at the same time, look aways at the same time, blink in synchronicity… Maybe it's because you and him were made from the same star.

Barou: You appeared in a photo he took years ago. When he was in Tokyo, he took a pic at the red Eiffel tower thing, and there you were in the background, back when you didn't know each other and didn't even live in the same city. Imagine how shocked he was to realize you had crossed paths so many years before.

well, maybe that wasn't the last thing you two talked about with each other. however, does defiling your families bathroom really count as 'talking'? ( most awkward easter ever afterwards ) you didn't really think so.

whatever, he was a pro-soccer player now, he may not even be at home this christmas. you'd just have to put up with his family, who you'd always loved, and then you could go home and avoid the situation until the next big holiday.

but of course, when you stepped into your childhood home you realized that you'd never get that lucky. there he was, just as handsome as ever, sitting on your families couch.

you’d known for a long time that ‘casually’ seeing a pro soccer player would only lead to being left alone, especially someone like him—someone whose work always came first, and whose heart was as unreachable as the trophies he collected.

he’d said it more times than you could count: “love doesn’t come before soccer. It never will.” and you’d laughed, maybe even agreed at some point, understanding it was just the way things were.

so why does it feel like you’re drowning now, with him leaving just around the corner.

it doesn’t make sense. you’d known the deal from the start.

still, here you are—sitting in his bed, in the quiet of his room, the familiar hum of the city outside reminding you of how little time you really have left with him.

his suitcase is by the door, already half-packed, his jersey draped over the chair where he’d left it, as if he couldn't get out of here fast enough.

you’re almost sick to your stomach at the thought of him walking out that door in just a few days, never looking back.

you’ve spent enough time with him to know that when he leaves, he doesn’t look back. he doesn't look back at stadiums once he walks out, and he wouldn't look back at you either.

"it’s only a few months," he’d said, trying to make you feel better when the topic of him leaving first got brought up. “i’ll be back before you know it.”

you know he’ll be busy with games, traveling, sponsors,...women, all the things that make him too far to reach.

it’s easy for him to say that. he’s used to moving on. he’s used to leaving. you? you're used to him being here.

his fingers tap absently against the screen of his phone. you can see the notifications lighting up—his agent, a few teammates, probably his parents, all reminding you of the inevitable: he’s leaving soon.

you want to scream. you want to ask him why he doesn’t care. why it’s so easy for him to slip away from everyone who loves him.

but instead, you pull your knees to your chest and keep your eyes fixed on him, as if the longer you look, you could magically gain telepathy to make him want to stay with you.

"how’s your flight looking?" you ask, hoping his answer would be that he cancelled it.

"all set."

and you can't breathe.

the casualness in his voice is what stings the most. the way he talks about leaving as if it’s just another day at the office, another game to be played.

he doesn’t get how you feel. maybe he can’t. maybe he’s just too busy not feeling anything.

The silence is deafening.

"do you... do you ever wish you could just stay?"

It’s a question you didn’t mean to ask, but it escapes before you can stop it.

You wish you could take it back the second it leaves your lips.

he looks up at you, and for the briefest moment, his eyes soften. for one second, he looks like he is completely and utterly yours.

he sets his phone down, sliding it onto the bedside table, then turns his full attention to you.

"i told you, didn’t i? love doesn’t come before soccer."

The words hit you like a train, but it’s not the truth that hurts—it’s the way he says it, like it’s not up for debate. as if it’s always been this way, and it always will be.

why can't he just try? just try to come home every so often...to you.

you feel like a fool. as if you've put your heart on display for him just to not even glance your way.

you know where you stand, even if it’s tearing you apart.

he doesn’t lie to you, doesn’t promise you things he can’t give, and maybe that's why you fell for him in the first place—he was the first person who didn’t play games with you.

"i’m gonna miss you," you say quietly, knowing that admitting it aloud makes it even worse.

his eyes flicker with something, but it’s gone as quickly as it came. he shifts, pulling his knees up to match yours, as if to say he’s close, but still so far. he rests his head back against the headboard.

and for a moment, you almost forget he’s leaving. you forget about the suitcase by the door. you forget about the plane ticket he has. you forget that in just a few days he wont be yours anymore.

"i’ll miss you too," he says softly.

but that’s it. that’s all he says. it’s not a promise, not a declaration. just another passing remark to fill the silence.

he doesn't mean it. it's more of a kindness thing for him to say it back.

you can feel the weight of everything unsaid.

you realize—he doesn’t know how much you care. He can’t understand you.

he’s never been asked to stay.

you’re not even sure you’d want him to. you can’t ask him to change his life for you. and you couldn't keep up with the lifestyle he lives.

the idea of him walking away—of losing him to something bigger, to something you’ll never be able to keep—feels like it will break you.

so you just lie down on his bed, for the last time, you tell yourself.

i like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it.

he watched you sleep, quiet and still as the hours crept by and the world outside softened into shades of blue and gray. the way you lay there, tangled in blankets and half-curled against the pillows, made him feel something deeper than he’d ever say out loud. one arm was stretched out, draped over the edge of the bed, fingertips just barely brushing the floor, like you were reaching for something—even here, even in your sleep.

he knew he should probably turn away, give you space, maybe even go back to sleep himself. but he couldn’t help it, not tonight. tonight, there was something about the way you looked that captivated him, a feeling that ran stronger than he could fully express.

in your sleep, you didn’t know. didn’t know how you made him feel, didn’t know how he’d wait to hear you breathing, steady and soft, like some quiet reassurance. didn’t know how he’d look at you and feel his own heart quiet down, just because you were there, breathing softly in the dark.

he liked it when you were asleep, not because you looked perfect or anything, but because you looked real. like this was a piece of you only he got to see, a piece you wouldn’t even remember sharing. and for some reason, that made him feel closer to you. like he was trusted in a way that maybe you hadn’t said out loud, but he could see in moments like this.

so, he watched. he stayed a little longer, his hand almost reaching out but stopping just short, as if touching would wake you, and he wasn’t ready for that yet. he wasn’t ready to let go of this moment, to let go of the thought that, here and now, you were his. held in a closeness only the two of you could understand.

when his eyes began to feel heavy, he pulled himself back, watching you one last time as if he could carry the sight with him into sleep. as he drifted off, he found himself hoping that when morning came, you’d never know just how much of his heart he’d left in the serenity beside you.

Kurona ramble cause i desperately love him and he’s so cool🤞🤞

I feel like we probably might not get a kurona backstory but either way he doesn’t feel like the type to have a super crazy/life changing backstory. He seems like an only child for sure…and I feel like his parents are chill but also rather doting on him and he’ll just be standing still while his mother or father are smothering him. (But obviously he loves their affection)

Since kurona usually goes with the flow of things, I feel like his parents took him out a lot probably because he didn’t have any siblings and wanted to bond with him.

About his teeth, I think it’s 50/50 about what people say, like in school I feel like his classmates would actually find them cool and interesting. Though I feel like he’s heard random people when he’s out and about making comments about them. So why he doesn’t talk much to hide his teeth around the other players.

(Also he’s heard the words and terms these players be using, so I think he might fear his opponents using his teeth as a way to make him falter.)

I can imagine him not being super confident in school and that might be another reason why he repeats words to keep up on himself, and also rethink what he’s said. But I feel like he’s just effortlessly smart and whenever asked a question he sounds uncertain but always gets it right.

The friend that ALWAYS makes the plans and double checks, and if someone says they can’t go last minute, he always offers a ride or something so they can go.

So nonchalant about most things yet in the most caring way? Like his face can be expressionless but you can hear the sincerity in his voice

Most DEFINITELY has a huge fish tank that he takes very good care of. I don’t see him as the type to have a dog or cat, but he prefers cats

His fish vary and his tank is definitely straight out of a aquarium. LOVESS decorating it because he wants his fishy children to have a good and healthy environment.

His style I would say is more on the comfortable side, opting to wear clothes you would around the house

Hes the type to have his headphones with him ALL.THE.TIME. For the most part he’ll have an earbud in and his music playing the background. Loves walking while listening to music, and especially just admiring nature and animals

I think from a young age, kurona’s parents have always taken him to the beach, lakes, and obviously aquariums cause he definitely loves marine life (if he can’t own a shark, he can at least admire the other large span of life in the sea)

Can just stare into the sea for hours if he were to, he finds the splashing, clearness of the water, and the subtle hints of marine life fascinating and a wonder why wishes to explore more

Blanket Fort With Kurona!

notes: wanted to get rid of the draft😭, just some fluff, minor spoilers (not really), kurona being really cute, kinda short.

Kurona loves building blanket forts with you, and just spending time with you overall. So when he came back after the U20 game he was so exited to see you. He invited you over to his house one day while his parents were gone for work, and you gladly accepted. When you got to his house you were so exited to see him! Sure you just saw him yesterday (y’all have been hanging out everyday since he’s been back), but you didn’t get to see him for months while he was gone. As he let you in you went up to hug him and give him a little peck on the cheek. He’s so cute when he’s blushing. You love hugging him too even though he’s only a little bit taller than you. Tall boys are overrated. Short boys is where it’s at. As you both get settled on the couch he puts on the little mermaid (it’s his guilty pleasure), you both love watching it together. Kurona is a very quiet and introverted person, just like you. But with him you always talk and he will always listen. He brings out a very special side of you. Normally you’re usually asking for affection or cuddles but this time it’s kurona.

“Blanket fort?”

You smile. He’s so adorable.

“Sure babe”

He gets multiple blankets from his closet while you clear the living room a little bit. He loves building blanket forts with you, but loves cuddling in them with you even more. As you two get settled in the fort kurona pulls you closer to him. He then gets on top of you, and practically glares at you until your hands are either rubbing his back or playing with his hair. (It’s his favorite position right behind him being the little spoon.) He gives you a kiss on the forehead and says,

“Missed you so much y/n. Some of the boys are dramatic and smelly.”

You snicker at that. He’s funny even when he doesn’t try.

“I missed you more. Do you know how annoying it was not being able to see or text you. Got me worried you were cheating on me…with a dramatic smelly soccer player😟”

He smiles. You love it when he smiles. He’s just so adorable. He kisses your lips one more time before he settles his head between your neck and shoulder.

“Love you. So much. So much.”

It’s been about 3 hours since you both fell asleep and 1 since his dad got home. His mom enters to see a mess in the living room and her husband sitting at the table reading a book. She looks at him confused until she looks at both of you sound asleep tangled in eachother. She smiles.
