Hey hey have you ever thought about how zoro breaks his body again and again for Luffy gaining scar after scar loosing eyes and shit trying to keep up with Luffy and his devil fruit and sanji with his genetically modified body. Do you think zoro wonders what will be the thing that tips him over the edge into death??? Do you think Luffy does???
well hello to you too, anon! sorry that it took me a while to answer but I love this and ended up typing a lot. so, I also apologize in advance for the long-ish read.
but yeah! actually I was sort of thinking about it thanks to some twts I saw discussing thriller bark again. I gotta say, perhaps I have a bit of a less angsty view? because the thing is... zoro's a pretty straightforward and single-minded character, which doesn't mean he's flat or lacking in depth, but his overall thought process isn't extremely complex.
though zoro treasures his life (just like his swords, both which he needs to achieve his goals), he's not naive. he knows death is a real possibility, more so in the pursuit of his dream. zoro says as much to sanji back in baratie:
zoro doesn't seek death, the opposite actually, and he refuses to die in situations he finds dishonorable or out of his control, but he's come to terms with the idea of his own death. aside from that (or additionally), zoro's most prominent traits are rooted in his deep sense of commitment, devotion and loyalty to what he wants and believes in - namely his dream and his promise to kuina. this aspect of his character doesn't change imo, rather it broadens to encompass luffy and the crew as well.
all this to say that albeit I've called it a sacrifice myself, I don't think what zoro chooses to do for luffy or the crew would count (for him) as such. it's just what he believes he must do - to achieve his personal goals as much as to ensure luffy gets to fulfill his own and to protect the crew as a whole, because they've all become intertwined with zoro's dream to begin with. especially where it concerns luffy. what good is ambition if I can't even save the life of my own captain? indeed, for someone whose end goal is to become the strongest, what's the point of doing so if his strength doesn't allow him to protect those who are important to him? the person who is most important to him?
so when zoro chooses to keep pushing himself to train harder/become stronger, to do the exchange with kuma, beg mihawk to train him or agrees to do crazy stuff like take the drug that will help him recuperate enough to fight but will worsen his injuries/pain tenfold the moment the effect wears off in wano - they're not sources of regret or decisions he sees as tragic sacrifices. he's quite like luffy too, who's made similar choices along the story.
the angst of moments like "nothing happened" for me lies more on the implications of what could've happened (zoro dying for real), what eventually did (almost getting killed in sabaody, the crew's separation) and what luffy's reaction would've been if he'd found out. I do agree luffy would ultimately respect his decision, what I don't usually agree with is that he'd be immediately okay with it. the last thing luffy wants is to lose someone he loves, less so if they get hurt trying to protect him. points at his backstory, marineford and post marineford. this is exactly why sanji insists on not letting him know.
on the other hand, imo, zoro's not trying to keep up with luffy per se... how I see it, it's more like meeting him halfway. when you're faced with how powerful luffy's become nowadays, it's easy to forget he's not infallible. luffy has weaknesses and shortcomings too. post TS zoro is even more aware of both of their limitations (he's the one who's literally experienced luffy's pain as if it were his own) though he's also become more confident in their strength and the crew's as well. zoro will do his best to stand by luffy's side and protect him/their crew, but luffy has to measure up! zoro has no qualms about reminding and demanding him to get his shit together. zoro might not reach luffy's levels of raw strength (and I'd argue he doesn't need to), still, there's other ways in which he makes up for what luffy lacks or can't do in certain circumstances. so if you ask me, it's not about keeping up - it's meeting each other in the middle and striding forward together.
as for sanji, a similar thing applies. for all their petty rivalry and their roles as crew combatants, it's important to remember sanji's more of a nurturer (he is the cook, after all) and his dream of the all blue has little to do with strength, unlike zoro's. his genetic modifications don't really become an issue (for the crew) until wano and if anything, rather than this setting him above zoro in terms of power/abilities or turning into something zoro has to catch up with, sanji relies on zoro to keep him in line if he ever endangers the crew because of it.
all in all, I don't think zoro's the type to wonder what's gonna make him kick the bucket, though he knows dying is a realistic possibility. plus, he's not the only relatively Normal Guy who's ever become crazy strong among DF users and other enhanced characters. rayleigh is a very good point of reference as to what zoro is capable of becoming or achieving, and it's no coincidence they share a bunch of a similarities too.
AND FINALLY LUFFY. I rambled about this in the tags of a post a while back but luffy is a bit of a more complicated case imo. the manga doesn't exactly provide insight on luffy's inner thoughts/feelings (he voices most of them anyway) and though he's not naive in this aspect either, especially not post TS, the story rarely lets him witness situations in which zoro's vulnerable or in real danger of dying. this leads to him sometimes coming across as insensitive or being unfair (by having almost unrealistic expectations wrt zoro) but part of it is that he sees zoro bouncing back from the seemingly impossible more often than he sees him down.
however, the way he loses his goddamn mind when mihawk hurts zoro at baratie, when kizaru almost kills him and as kuma sends him away in sabaody, is a very good indicator of how he handles the idea of losing zoro which is - not well. at all. OPLA also gave us a more blatant example of this with the near dissociation, panic, losing his appetite and actively refusing to eat etc when zoro's wounded and unconscious after his duel with mihawk.
whether he thinks about zoro dying or not is probably more headcanon/fanfic territory, since it hasn't come up in the manga itself. even so, I do believe luffy's the type who... deliberately does Not ponder about sad or potentially upsetting things. one very brief moment that stood out to me while reading was this:
luffy not wanting to remember when garp left him on his own as a kid and straight up getting mushroom-high after being separated from his friends? man.
despite his cheerfulness and confidence, luffy is at his innermost terrified of losing the people he loves and hates the idea of being alone, ever since he was a kid. he begged ace not to die, has fought time and time again to rescue his friends and bring back those who've left. zoro's not just his first crew mate but he's also been the most long lasting and steady throughout the story. as some people have pointed out - zoro is the only one of the east blue gang who's never left the crew, even if the rest all had very understandable reasons for doing it each time. so on a more speculative note, after all the losses luffy's suffered, I'd say wondering when or how zoro will die is something he'd very much avoid. the thought's likely pretty devastating. instead, it's easier to put his entire trust and faith into believing zoro will pull through anything, like luffy says in dressrosa, and zoro would accept no less than that imo - because that's the kind of trust/faith he places in luffy as well.
lastly, about the scars and such... this is where zoro and luffy's similarities are highlighted. when it comes to all the choices they make wrt their dreams or protecting their friends, those luffy understands well. he's pretty much the same as zoro in this regard. that's why he refuses to let buggy interrupt zoro's fight with cabaji and stops johnny and yosaku from interfering in his duel against mihawk, even if seeing zoro get hurt upsets him greatly. zoro and luffy match in many ways, their dreams and determination to fulfill them is one of them, no matter what they have to do or how many scars they collect along their journey as a result.
#tp#replies#long post#zolu#kind of#I hope this is somewhat coherent AJDJD#this is more about canon discussion btw. I do enjoy the idea of like....zoro and luffy having some complicated feelings abt their scars#the one on luffy's chest and zoro's eye#both which they received when they were apart from each other and could do nothing to help prevent either#I mean. I kinda wrote a wip about it#though it's never too late for oda to just come out and reveal zoro got his scar in the dumbest way possible so#there's that#anyway thank you so much for the ask I like discussing this stuff a lot

PLEASE TALK ABOUT THE LUZO SABAODY/2 YEAR TIMSEKIP STUFF IM BEGGING YOU
oh its so much....its So cute that u know that panel where they step away to talk like "hey where did the bear guy send you to? 😄" its so casual for what a heavy event it was, and how hard what came after had been.....but i kinda love it you know it's not unrealistic to be like haha its fine NOW so we can laugh and have fun and relax and smile again....just like lawbepo hug on zou - bepo is SO happy to see law that he instantly forgets and forgives all the fear and pain law made him feel, it doesnt matter its over!!!
its the same with luzo at sabaody reunion they are all grins and "i cant wait to rediscover you, I'll enjoy learning how youve changed bit by bit, ill savour it like a good meal" long looks. Because its Safe they are together again and they both, they ALL worked to become stronger so they can stay together, so luzo have that sexy confidence about it and instead of regretting the wasted time they think "nothing can separate us now"
and its CRAZY cuz they've been through so much. from the absolute horror of the initial incident, to the pain of finding out what happened to luffy at marineford and zoro going insane because he isnt there for luffy. luffy going through that and not wanting to live afterwards but being brought back Because he has zoro and the others - no doubt in those tears of love and gratitude there was a mix up of guilt for considering offing himself because it would mean hurting THEM. he is very sorry, it passed.
so reunion is So full of joy and comfort Despite that horrible baggage makes it all the more beautiful for them to feel So Light as they fall into each other like: there you are, my love, my home, isnt it amazing how we sync up so effortlessly again - its pure happiness
not only both of them worked and changed and became so much stronger to be able to stay together, not only did they endure so much pain for each other's sake (others' too but u know. its fucking luzo) they also both discovered a facet of their love that only distance could give so theyve matured with it too
its Nuts
zoros devotion got formed under pressure of kuma fight and his training like a diamond. as ive said i love post ts zoro being a shameless trophy wife/bodyguard who is So openly proud to be a dog its DISTURBING (positive. appreciative)
if luffy was possessive before he somehow becomes Worse much to zoros happiness. But luffys determination to be great to reach his goal is inseparable from his greed and selfishness, and that includes zoro, its crazy really because greed usually implies large quantities but with this its intense greed focused on one person (because zoro is luffys only lover and he wants no other. zoro is the best) which makes it Suffocating. in a way even the fact that "thought of zoro saved me from giving up" kind of = zoro is mine completely, its a batshit logic but thats not unusual for luffy -
luffy doesn't want to become king alone - he wants to do it with zoro and the others, his goal is his life, he is nothing without them and it just so happens that zoro is most important there, not making others disposable just cuz they arent sucking his dick but zoro is zoro, zoro was always different, zoro is the most HIS out of this group of people who will die for him
and they all came back...and zoro came back.. it's like by doing that they signed a second new and expanded unspoken contract between them that yes you are our captain Yes we will see you through the end etc
and luffy is so giddy that zoro is there ..not that luffy doubted him but he really feels like celebrating
😊😊😊
(sorry this ended up being a scattered train of thought and i didnt even talk about them fucking but i did cry typing it up if that helps cuz i love them...)

Portgas D Ace X CisFem Reader
3
A few days had passed and the raven remained holed up in his room; only emerging for meals and to silence nature's calls. You didn't blame him though. The whole situation raised a lot of questions you'd probably never get the answers to. It had to be stressful and heart breaking to leave everything and everyone he loved in such a tragic manner.
The last two nights he'd woken up and called for you asking you to stay with him. Surprising yourself you obliged, it seemed the only way he'd get through the night was clinging to you while you twisted his waves around your fingers. You didn't sleep much anyway and his serene sleeping face was rather soothing. Watching him snore softly against your side, his arms wrapped firmly around your waist, you sort of regretted what you were about to do.
It was 3AM and the end of the pay period, you still had work to get done. You wiggled out of the raven's grasp sitting up on the edge of the bed. Quietly you stalked to your room firing up the PC on your desk and removing documents to enter into the database that had been shipped to you. The office chair creaked under you as you settled turning on some music.
An hour into your work Kuma trotted in followed by the sound of your duvet sliding over the top sheet.
"Sorry I still had some work to do." You swiveled around watching Ace crawl into your bed like it was something he'd done a million times.
"S'ok." He yawned, garnet eyes shifting from you to the flat screen mounted on the wall beside you.
"You wanna watch TV? There's probably nothing but infomercials on right now." You stood picking up the remote and powering on the television.
He sat up watching as you flipped to an episode of Bob's Burgers.
"You didn't have television where you're from?" You asked.
"Something like it." He mumbled eyes glued to the screen as you turned it up for him.
When you were finished working you slipped under the covers tugging a pillow away from Ace while he snuggled into you.
"You're awfully cuddly for a pirate." You commented.
He hummed suppressing a yawn.
Running your hands through his soft black hair you began twirling locks around your fingers. Maybe it wasn't just comforting for him. Your eyes traveled around the room trying to ignore the soft morning light forcing its way through the opening of your blackout curtains before sleep finally welcomed you.
_________________
The smell of bacon pulled you from your slumber. You panicked briefly still not used to having another human in your house.
"You should have woken me up if you were hungry." You said rounding the corner into the small kitchen.
"I can do it. Besides you needed the sleep, you were snoring so loud." He chuckled while your face heated up.
"Shut up. What are you making?"
"I can only do the meat and eggs."
You stepped around him pulling out a small sauce pot placing it on the back right burner as it clicked to life. He watched you pour milk and drop a few pats of butter into the heating pot occasionally breaking his gaze to tend to what he was cooking.
"What are you doing?" He finally asked as you stretched for a canister of stone ground grits in the cabinet above the stove.
"Grits... um it's like a porridge? I guess." You measured out a cup of the grain and dumped it into the pot following with salt and lots of pepper making sure to stir constantly.
When it was a consistency you were happy with you added a tad more milk and butter followed by a healthy amount of cheese.
Ace looked at the bowl of grits skeptically but not being one to turn down food he scooped up a spoonful. You watched carefully for his reaction. A pleased hum rumbled through his chest making you smile.
"So, can I ask what the devil fruit was that you ate?" You hadn't brought up much regarding his past afraid you'd be triggering more trauma but since he actually left his room today you thought you'd try your luck.
For the first time since he'd arrived, a grin broke out across his face.
"Mera mera no mi." You blinked at his response waiting for more information, "Fire. I could turn my whole body into fire."
"Like Johnny Storm." You mused.
"Who?"
"The Fantastic Four... It's a comic. Never mind." You blurted.
He smiled again. Your flustered expression was... interesting.
"Very few things could get through me." His eyes clouded briefly as he stared passed you, "I guess I let my ego get the best of me. They didn't want me to go and I did it anyway."
"They?" You dared to ask.
He nodded sharply, "Pops...my brothers."
"Pops." You echoed.
"Whitebeard." He replied, voice distant.
"Oh, your captain."
"My father." He corrected smile ghosting his lips, his ruby orbs settling back on you, "I tried to kill him like a hundred times."
You bristled.
"I'm a pirate." He reminded you with a smirk.
"What changed?" You almost whispered.
"Marco, he sort of helped me see why they all loved pops so much."
Marco...you'd have to save questions about him for later.
"And why's that?"
He paused for a moment a flicker of pain threatening to keep the words in his throat, "We're his sons."
It was a simple but deep enough response that weighted your heart.
Not wanting to push the emotional conversation any further you rose and began gathering the dishes.
"Let's go on an adventure today." You suggested.

One Piece 1095 spoilers
Things I liked this week:
GOOD COVER PAGE I love the reader requests
This page of Marine grunts getting heebie- jeebied by Saturn is good, not that he needed more selling on being fucking horrifying
YEP SATURN IS STILL TERRIFYING
This surely confirms that higher level haki users can avoid getting Scannersed by Saturn's death gaze, right?
Also no surprises but Saturn is unfazed by Bonney's stab, ggwp regardless
Kizaru is actually down for the count, I'm a little surprised he's still conscious but unable to continue fighting for now
FRANKY TO THE RESCUE SAVING LUFFY AND HIS RELEVANCE IN THIS ARC
"a pirate crew that cooperates" I mean... I'm assuming he means more 'caring about each other' bc yeah in OP thats rare among the big crews lmao
Luffy in dire need of a pint lads
"if your fate is strong enough" is this an error or. could be either way
"I want you to die with nothing but regret" ok yeah the Gorosei are evil on a personal level holy shit
"human beings" I thought this was Saturn letting something slip, but then I remembered how CDs think of themselves, but on the third hand it could be both...
Is this paralysis a DF effect or is Saturn's base unused Conqueror's haki just that ridiculous
OKAY NEW EXTINCT LINEAGE HERE WE FUCKING GO
KUMA
FUCKING
BACKSTORY HERE WE GO LADS WE'VE BEEN WAITING DECADES FOR THIS ONE!!!
Bartholomew D. Kuma when!!!!
Oda's gotten very efficient at the brutally tragic backstories by now, this is down to a science and still hard to read through.
hunting human beings, business as usual for CDs
GOD. VALLEY.
the God Valley Incident took place 38 years ago. Kuma was born 47 years ago, and is around 9 yo in this art of the flashback. Calling it now, Kuma escaped in the chaos of the GVI.
this would also explain why CDs were present on the island when the Rocks Pirates attacked.
also I hate saying about Figarland Garling but. hot.
"Giant's blood" so is Oda going to explain why some people in OP are just huge? Was Whitebeard also of giant descent? bc ngl I just never questioned it, like a bunch of other bullshit in OP lmao
also HI IVANKOV and new character Ginny!
Ivankov being a slave is news but not surprising. if Ginny survives this flashback that *will* be surprising.
Kuma's backstory is something that was inevitable, but it's a shock that we're *FINALLY* seeing it after all these years and all this buildup. He's proven to be such a significant character, and if this flashback is a death flag, it's one well-earned. Go sweetly to thy rest, papa bear.
no date on the next chapter, so I'm assuming it's a break week next Sunday. it'll be worth the wait though! 💪✖️

midnight hospitals, early dawn rooftops.
trigger warnings: implication of ideation and attempts
it's those moments before crying, when your breath gets shallow and you feel your eyes burn from holding it back. your heart leaps like it wants to burst open your chest and your lips quiver with every gasp for air, then the waterworks follow after despite how much effort you've made in suppressing them. it happens a lot that these sensations have become innate to me.
after a good cry, i'm journalling all my heartache today. but i write, and write, and write. it never seems to be enough.
yesterday i fell down in the middle of my aerial pilates routine and incurred an injury under my eye. it's not a huge one so i managed to go about my day just wearing a bandage over it. but then i kept feeling some tenderness in my lower back. i ignored it for as long as i could because there was so much work to be done. there is a lot that i still have to do, and it's regretful that i'm wasting it away here at the hospital. but my mum kept insisting that i get it checked, because i was incessantly protesting about it. i hadn't even realised how much i talked about it. part of me wishes i didn't, because i was admitted that same night and i spent the dead of it wallowing in my sorrow.
i don't hate hospitals. ending up in these halls so often, everything has become familiar. honestly, getting admitted is almost always like a retreat. no decisions apart from medical ones, a lot of them i personally don't have to worry about. no work deadlines, no housework—though i do miss my babies kai and kuma. three meals, clean sheets, and a call bell. attention only takes a push of a button for an anxiety-ridden person like me. what i dislike is when i start to form an attachment to this kind of medical attention. when i'm here, i'm safe and cared for. sometimes i even make friends.
once i met another patient whose heart would beat irregularly. i'd say i can't remember what the illness was called but now that i think about it, i was never told nor did i ever ask. she would hoard food in her night table; food that she'd stolen off her roommates' trays. at some point, she had bugs in the room that she'd been moved to because of her food spoiling in the drawer. she was a difficult person but i thought it was something we had in common, just in a different sense.
she wore see through nighties, no underwear, not even a robe. she would walk in the halls just like that. i thought it was funny. the staff thought otherwise. she never had any visitors during her stay that i was around for either. i remember every resident sighing in relief the moment she got discharged. i felt bad and i expressed that to one of them, only for them to say she'll show up again and i have nothing to feel sorry for. they continued on to tell me that her condition was self-induced. what was it called? marchartsen? manchansin? manchester syndrome. something like that.
i started to wonder if i had that, too. with how much i frequented, i almost feel like i'm making it all up, that there's nothing really wrong with me, and somehow everyone's just validating me because they're scared of what i'd do to myself. i'm scared of what i'd do to myself. it's not really easy being in my head. one could argue others have it worse, like my old friend. but maybe that's why i sympathised as much as i did.
these copious amounts of thinking had my head spinning. my hands started getting numb, then my legs, then the rest of my body followed suit. i could feel a sting creeping up my cheeks and swallowing my ears right after. it was unbearable and the thought of me becoming paralysed had me respiring. i couldn't hear anything else but those audible breaths and the rapid beating of my heart. that loss of control, this great fear of mine. i know it's just a hitch. i know it's all supposed to pass and i just have to ride it out. but in those moments of struggle, i'd always feel desperate.
and this time, i was desperate enough to make it stop and my unsound mind could only come up with one quick fix. one that didn't need the press of a button. one that didn't need anyone's assistance. and if this is how i go, i'd be at peace with that; not bothering someone for once in my life—my life where i abundantly convinced myself that i was self-sufficient.
conveniently, it was early morning. rooftop doors aren't usually kept open in places like these, so seeing it unlocked—unbolted—i took that as a sign. maybe this is something that i have to do. maybe finally, i can be free from this constant ache in my chest, free from these intense fluctuations in my emotions, free from this all-consuming pain.
but i figured the odds of seeing someone else beat me to getting there was unsurprisingly high. it was someone familiar, in fact. no, not the friend i'd been talking about. just someone who would visit you in your dreams. she didn't even look like a patient, or i doubt she could have been, considering she was garbed in full black clothing. she looked formal and professional, uptight even. she never once looked at me in the eyes or even turned to see who i was. i just remember she spoke in tongues. i couldn't tell you what she said exactly even if i tried. i was spiraling mentally, i'll blame it on that. but the confusion took over that overwhelming swirl. it sobered me up, i think.
now i'm here, wondering how i'd gotten so close and backed out once again. maybe that person, whoever it was—maybe she was my savior.

@aranea-princeps asked:
[ from the random starter call c: ] ㅤ⠀The Heart Pirates. Suma had heard stories of them over the years, though they certainly varied depending on who was telling the tale. Mainly from merchants during the two years of ship hopping she’d done, weary sailors who whispered about a man who stole the hearts of marines. The concept sounded odd to her- perhaps even a touch funny, if she were being honest, if only by the way the men had whispered it. Like the Captain was some siren, stealing the hearts of men- ㅤ⠀The truth of it had been revealed during the unintentional chaos of their initial visit to Sabaody. While she had been busy dealing with her own familial drama, watching from a distance the way the Devil Fruit abilities of both Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kid worked had been interesting enough. Well, until Kuma showed up. ㅤ⠀… She doesn’t like to think about that. Shaking her head as if the movement could physically remove the thoughts from her mind, her gaze shifted to the back of the Captain that Luffy had decided was now a temporary part of their crew. The chaos of Punk Hazard recently behind them, the crew could take the time to rest. Morbid curiosity simply got the better of her as she approached, plopping down with a silent offer of an onigiri. ㅤ⠀❝Everyone sort of glosses over formal introductions, but I was raised to always introduce yourself to allies- even temporary ones. Suma, nice to finally meet you. I made the onigiri, by the way.❞
The wispers and rumors that followed in the surgeon's wake hardly ever mattered. Empty words with their only purpose being found in keeping unwanted company away. At least until this crew full of lunatics came along. Law almost regretted saving the bastard, the sounds of the crew's lively nature starting to give him a damn headache. (It sounded like home. Like if he focused hard enough, he could hear Penguin, Shachi and Bepo messing about. It made his chest ache.)
Having already been swept up in their nonsense enough, Law thought it best to park himself in one place, a bench on the mast, brim tilted low and just observing. Unfortunately, that only seemed to work for so long, as was his luck. A girl sat next to him without even bothering to ask, and he had half a mind to snap at her to piss off. He wasn't here to make friends. They were hardly allies, regardless of how that idiot Strawhat saw it.
But then one of his favorite foods is offered. It gives him pause. Even if it is just for a short moment. Sharp (tired) gold eyes cut themselves at the girl-- Suma. Hm.
At least someone had manners on this godforsaken vessel.
"...No thanks." He declines, despite giving the food another brief glance. His words stop there, caught somewhere in his chest. He wasn't sure what to even say next. He didn't need her getting some weird idea that he was friendly too. This was nothing but a meeting of convenience, Law using the crew for his own gain. But even then, he found himself not enturely wanting to be rude either. It could ruin the alliance if he got on Luffy's bad side.
His face pinches, turning into something like a glower. Seas, he hated this.

❝ That I did, ❞ the swordsman confirmed with a small nod. ❝ I did what I had to do given the circumstances back then. And before you ask --- no, I don't regret doing so. It's... let's say it's in my nature to seek out and fight opponents that I believe are worthy to use my talents against. Strawhat proved to be such an opponent. ❞ While Mihawk was sure he would have killed the boy then and there if Vista didn't intervene, even he had to admit that Luffy put up a good fight. Determination worked in curious ways like that, and it fueled Strawhat so much just to be able to get to his brother in time. If anything, it was very admirable.
❝ I understand if you would hold that against me, ❞ he then continued. ❝ Truth be told, I wouldn't blame you for it if you did, either, though something tells me that you would have attacked me by now if you wanted revenge for what I did. ❞ The corner of his lips twitched up in a small smile. He could have always been wrong about the whole situation and the attack would yet commence, and if that were the case, he was prepared. Given the circumstances of their conversation, however, and no threat detected by his Observation Haki, Mihawk knew there was nothing to worry about.
No, there was no threat there, just a casual conversation between two swordsmen about what had transpired in the last two years. Perhaps there would be one or the other fool outside that would like to interrupt their conversation --- there really was no shortage of those around, no matter where he went, almost as if they were following him --- but if anything, it would make things in the end and perhaps it would allow him to see some of Brook's swordsmanship.
❝ Don't feel bad about not being prepared for the New World. Those who come prepared are rare and even those sometimes don't make it. You could consider yourself fortunate that Kuma did you a favour and separated you. Roronoa became much stronger during the two years you were apart. I'd dare think that the rest of you grew stronger as well. ❞
"I suppose, you are right! Yohoho! Well then, I would be happy to show you my technique. I developed it myself, actually." Brook couldn't help but brag just a little bit. He had no ambition in being the best swordsman ever, he didn't even intend on making the tier list. However the musician truly loved his sword, the swordsman's style of fighting, all of it. Perhaps it was something himself and Mihawk could bond over? Eh, wouldn't that be nice.
What was a tale without a good accompaniment? Brook carefully placed down his violin and took a sip of his drink. "Yes, well... Now that I am out, it's something I find imagining myself. The memory is fresh, but blissfully unreal. As if I survived through a horrible nightmare. A night that lasted forever." The musician sighed, before seemingly shaking the memory off and beaming with a smile again.
"Yohoho, so he did tell you something! He is so tight-lipped normally, I am sort of impressed." Brook paused slightly at the mention of Kuma, however. It was a secret that seemingly only Zoro, Sanji, himself and two random folks from Lola's crew knew. It wasn't Brook's secret to tell, even though it helped the skeleton to make his decision about travelling with the Strawhat crew.
"It was a tough battle. I would say Zoro-san contributed the most of us all to it. He took a lot of risks and ever did my revenge for me. I am truly indebted to him, you know." The musician tilted his head, remembering the young swordsman fighting Ryuma for his sake.
"Hoya! You know a lot, Mihawk-san!" Brook sounded surprised. "Indeed, Kuma-san saved us back than, though we didn't know that was the case at the time." He could distinctly remember the despair of that moment, his last joke as he attempted to shield his crewmates with his body... "We were horribly underprepared for the New World. It was clearly shown to us by that Buster Call."
The skeleton sighed, drinking some more. "Hmmm, Marienford. Are you not afraid I might hold it against you, Mihawk-san? You did attack my captain back then." His tone wasn't threatening or hateful, Brook sounded more curious than anything.

hi! i love your stuff so very much!!
can i request the angst alphabet with zoro?
thank uuuuu ❤️
Angst Alphabet - Roronoa Zoro
a/n: hiya!!! thank y’all so much!!<3 hope you enjoy this 😌
A-Accident (would they blame themselves if you died in an accident?)
He may not blame himself entirely if you were to die in an accident. But Zoro would think himself weak. How could he possibly become the words greatest swordsman if he can’t even protect his s/o.
B-Break up (How would they break up with you?)
Before breaking up with you Zoro would start to distance himself a little to try and make it easier on the both of you for when he does break up with you. Other than that, he is likely to just come right out and say exactly what he wants to say. He’s brutally honest and straightforward so he won’t try to sugar coat anything or beat around the bush.
C-Crying (how would they make you cry?)
Zoro does this horrible thing where he likes to overwork himself to the point of exhaustion. No matter how many times you tell him to stop and express your concerns for his health, he just doesn’t listen. It hurts seeing the man you love more than anything exhausting himself.
D-Death (how would they react to your death?)
Speaking of overworking, after your death he works himself harder than he ever has before. Day in, day out he’s training. He trains every possible minute to distract himself from your death and make himself stronger to ensure he never loses a loved one ever again.
E-Emotion (what is one emotion they would try to hide the most and how would they do it?)
Being openly vulnerable is something Zoro doesn’t like to do. He really only shows his vulnerable side with his s/o and even then, it took him a really long time to do it.
F-Fight (do you two ever fight? How big are the fights? What do you fight about? Etc.)
Very rarely do your fights get serious. Your fights are often just light-hearted teases and jokes towards one another. Where its always followed by laughter or eye rolls.
If your fight was to get serious, it would result in a lot of yelling at one another and with Zoros blunt personality, a lot of hurtful words (which he ALWAYS apologizes for in the end).
G-Guilt (what is the biggest thing they feel guilty about?)
The events of Sabaody weigh heavily on Zoro’s mind. He was the first one to get sent away by Kuma, so feels as though he failed not only his captain, but the whole crew as well. He wasn’t there to protect them, to help them. Instead, he was a complete failure. And, because of his weakness his captain had to fight and suffer alone.
H-Heartbreak (what would cause them pain in the relationship? How would they deal during a break-up?)
During a break-up Zoro does what he would in any other situation: workout. He keeps himself occupied by working out, and actually he drinks a little bit more than usual too. It could even get to the point where the rest of the crew feels as though they need to step in.
I-Injured (how would they react if you are badly injured?).
He turns dark. Basically, a demon in human form. Moves you from wherever you are so that you’re out of the way of more danger AND THEN HE TIES HIS BANDANA ROUND HIS HEAD BECAUSE THIS SHIT IS SERIOUS.
J-Jealousy (what do they do if they are jealous?)
Its ridiculously obvious when this swordsman is jealous. He gets super grumpy and tries to intimidate the other person. He’ll stand right behind you and honestly, that’s intimidating enough on its own. But, if the other person doesn’t get the hint he’ll place his hand, ever so casually, on his swords.
K-Kill (would they kill for revenge?)
Ever since joining the Straw Hats, Zoro doesn’t kill others (its not something Luffy wants his nakama to do, so Zoro doesn’t do it). However, that mindset goes straight out the window depending on who he’s taking revenge for (i.e if it’s for his s/o).
Most of the time Zoro just leaves them wishing they were dead. (this seems to be a common thing amongst One Piece characters).
L-Loss (what is their greatest loss?)
I would actually say losing some of his pride. Zoro is a poud man, who refuses to lower his head to anyone. However, after receiving the message from Luffy to train and meet up again in two years, Zoro knew he had to lower his and beg Mihawk for his guidance. It was definitely a hit on his pride, but, honestly… He doesn’t regret that one bit – anything for his captain.
M-Mistake (what is the worst mistake they ever made with you?).
During one of the few big fights you guys have had things got really heated and the fight ended up getting so off topic. Insults and mean words were being thrown out left and right. Zoro got so caught up in it all that he said something that targeted one of your deepest insecurities. He knew he had screwed up so badly when you walked away without even saying anything.
N-Nightmares (how often do they have them? What are they about? How do they deal with it?).
He doesn’t often get nightmares, but when he does they tend to be about Sabaody and when the crew got separated from one another (or really any other incident where he was unable to help properly). After he wakes up, he gets straight out of bed and starts working out – determined to make sure nothing like that ever happens again.
O-Outrage (how and why would they get mad at you?)
Zoro doesn’t get mad at you for much, mainly if you pay any attention to that shitty cook, like seriously, he doesn’t understand why you have to give Sanji any attention when Zoro is literally your boyfriend….
P-Past (what has happened in your relationship that changed the way you saw each other?)
Even though you never found out exactly what happened on Thriller Bark (its something Zoro refuses to tell even you), it made you realize that you need to step up and not rely on Zoro so much because although he may act like it, he’s not actually indestructible.
Q-Quality (what is their most dangerous/toxic quality?).
(SORRY I FEEL LIKE I’M BEING VERY REPETITIVE HERE AH BUT YEAH…) He never allows himself to heal from an injury properly. He always starts training immediately despite Chopper’s best attempts to stop him.
R-Rejection (how would they react to you rejecting their confession (or the other way around)).
If you were to reject his confession, he’d probably try to justify it to himself by saying “yeah actually it’s probably better this way. I don’t need anymore distractions in life.” But, he would definitely be a little down in the dumps about it. He made himself vulnerable for this and it didn’t work the way he wanted.
S-Scars (battle or self-inflicted)
Zoro has many scars. The scar over his left eye was a result of his two years of training with Mihawk, though no one knows the exact cause of it – only that it appeared during those two years. Zoro also has a scar on his chest from his very first encounter with Mihawk. He may also have scars on his ankles from the time he tried to chop of his own legs on Little Garden (I can’t recall if these are actually scars or if they healed completely).
T-Trust (have they ever broken your trust?).
This answer is short and sweet: No. Never. Not even in his wildest of dreams. Loyalty is basically Zoro’s entire character. He would never violate your trust. If he did… well Zoro, wouldn’t be Zoro anymore. (only thing he’s done that comes close is keep you from finding out what really happened to him on Thriller Bark).
U-Urge (how badly do they want to see you after you guys separated?)
Honestly, he is probably one of the few who are able to cope with missing you the longest. He still wants to see you of course – your presence is reassuring, so he definitely prefers when you are around – but he can handle not seeing you for a while by focusing on the task at hand and just remembering that this separation isn’t permanent.
V-Vicious (what do they do when they lash out on you?).
Similar to what I’ve said before, he says some really harsh things. He has always been blunt and straightforward, but when he’s lashing out at you he tends to make things a little more personal.
W-Weak (what makes them feel weak how do they try to avoid it?).
Zoro hates losing. Not because he’s competitive or anything but because losing makes him feel weak. Whenever he loses he feels so far away from his goal. To make up for this he works out. He trains and trains and trains until he can no longer move. He will keep going until he never loses another fight.
X-X-ray (what do they hate and show it most obviously?)
Obviously, he shows his hate of Sanji very frequently. The two pirates are constantly arguing and at one anothers throat.
But another thing he hates is people getting in the way of his dream. He agreed to join Luffy so long as he didn’t get in the way of his dream – and if luffy were to get in the way Zoro made him promise to commit seppuku (although whether or not I think Zoro would actually make him do that anymore is a different thing that I could go on about for a while so imma stop there…).
Y-Yearn (what is one thing that they want but can’t have?)
Zoro wants to be the world’s greatest/strongest swordsman. It’s not currently a title he can have, however, day-by-day he is getting just that much closer.
Z-Zero (what do they do/say in your dying moments?)
I don’t think a lot is said or done by Zoro in your final moments. He probably whispers a few thank you’s and I’m sorry’s. He won’t mourn properly until he’s completely alone.

It had been a month. A month since Jin had killed his uncle and uprooted his entire life. A month since he’d gone from a notorious yakuza boss in Japan to a nobody in New York. A month since he’d given up everything he knew in favor of following his own personal sense of honor.
He felt hollow.
Jin didn’t regret what he’d done for a second. He knew if he hadn’t, he’d spend the rest of his life hating himself for being too cowardly to take a stand. He still hated himself, of course, but at least he only had his uncle’s death weighing on him instead of Darcy’s too.
Things weren’t all bad. Yuna had come from Tsushima along with her brother and Jin’s dog. They shared a nice two bedroom, pet friendly apartment in the city. Living with the Aokis was nice. Better than nice, actually. He got to wake up next to Yuna every morning and fall asleep next to her every night. In Taka, he found the little brother he never had growing up. And Kuma was Kuma, of course. It was an unconventional family, but it worked. And it should have made Jin happy.
But he still dreamt of his uncle. He saw the light leave his eyes as Jin put a bullet through his forehead. He saw the blood pool around him and he heard disappointment in the specter of his voice. Jin had been his uncle’s pride and joy and ended up his greatest failure. No matter how much better Jin’s new life was, he would have to live with this until he died. And it weighed heavily on him.
So he took walks. Sometimes Kuma or Taka would come with him. On rarer occasions, Yuna would come. But more often than not, he went alone, stewing in his own thoughts as he traversed the city.
He’d taken a long trek to Brooklyn today to see the Botanical Gardens. Jin had heard there was a Shinto shrine hidden away and he thought he might like to see it. Perhaps a little taste of home would make him forget everything for a little while. Or maybe it would just make things worse; he wasn’t sure.
There weren’t many other people there on the grounds. It was the middle of summer and he supposed it was too hot for most people to want to be outside. But Jin was used to walking around in human Japanese summers in long pants and long sleeves in order to hide his tattoos. This heat was nothing to him.
There was only one other person he could see entering the Hill-and-Pond Garden, but he seemed to be keeping to himself, so Jin was sure he and his misery wouldn’t be disturbed.

Hetalia Platonic Ships Week Day 3: Into the World of Pokemon
After moving in with their 1ps, the 2ps have had no shortage of weird moments they've experienced. One such crazy and weird adventure would be the time the Japans got them all sucked into their newest pokemon game thanks to a new virtual reality invention. Let's see how this goes!
Dropped into various areas around the pokemon universe everyone freaks out and Luciano's particularly enrages screams can be heard everywhere. Starting in the beginner's area, everyone is separated and given their own starter Pokemon. Alfred immediately starts fanboying and runs up to every Pokemon he sees with his starter Rufflet following right behind while Allen gets his bat out as he has no idea what's happening as he's never gotten into video games and mostly tries keeping him out of trouble while eyeing everything with suspicion. Once he catches up and Alfred somewhat comes down from his fanboy high, Alfred immediately gives a fast explanation and tells Allen everything about Pokemon. Allen gets the gist of it and is really interested in Pokemon as they start exploring with his own Houndour walking beside him and his bat swung on his shoulder. France starts freaking out about his hair when a Caterpie string shots it while his Roselia fusses over it. Roselia seems to share the same personality as France. Luiz can't help but scoff and puts his cigarette out, being in a forest and all, and starts to pick a path with his Espurr and leave the two freaking out peas in a pod behind to catch up once they notice he's gone.
Arthur and Oliver get dropped somewhere nearby. Arthur is immediately taken by his Galarian Ponyta introducing her to Flying Mint Bunny. Interestingly, the pokemon can actually see Arthur's magical friends. Oliver immediately starts gushing about his Slwirlix and how helpful he is with baking. They are the only ones who can completely understand and talk to their pokemon thanks to FMB translating. They end up running into the France's and Arthur and Francis immediately start going at it. Thanks to Japan giving their starters similar personalities, Roselia and Ponyta also start bickering. Meanwhile, Oliver is gushing over how adorable Luiz's Espurr is and showing him Swirlix. Luiz, who quickly grows a soft spot for Espurr, humors Oliver.
Mathew and James end up near a stream where a Bidoof and Bibarel dam is. Thanks to countries having a natural connection to their national animal, this also extends to pokemon and they quickly befriend them, becoming the Beaver kings. Mathew has a Cubchoo while James has a gruff Teddiursa. James is immediately reminded of Kuma and how Kumajiro was as a cub and becomes extremely protective. The Bidoof and Bibarel help them find their friends. Gilbert and Klaus start out in a cave somewhere and thanks to millions of Zubat, get immediately get ejected. They come out to see a hilltop view a la BOTW. GIlbert has a Sneasel with the same mischievous streek GIlbert has while Klaus, being the trained knight he is, has a Honedge. Gilbert tries leading them but he and Sneasal immediately fall into a nearby stream because he wasn't looking. Elsewhere, Ludwig gets that strange feeling Gilbert is somewhere doing something stupid while he's petting his Riolu, and Lutz's Poochyena is napping on his stomach. The aforementioned Lutz is taking a nap on the ground. Feliciano has an Eevee and Luciano has a Zorua. Feli immediately tries to say high to every Pokemon in the vicinity and almost gets stunned by grass types, blown away by flying types, etc. Luciano wonders how he'd ever survived out here on his own without him. Flavio starts out with a Popplio and takes it in stride! He helps the, at first timid, Popplio regain his confidence by reminding him it's not the outside that matters and that he has an inner beauty that shines through. Lovino ends up with a grumpy little tsundere Pikachu and tries to find their way to the others while Flavio and Popplio are preoccupied with an impromptu photo shoot. It doesn't take long for them to reunite with Feliciano and Luciano and Feli immediately gets excited to show them his and Luciano's pokemon and meet theirs. Eevee's hyper personality exhausts Pikachu.
Ivan ends up with a Sunflora and immediately names him Sunflower. Viktor thinks it's a stupid name but d doesn't say anything because he knows Ivan loves them so much. Viktor ends up with a serious Bagon who he helps train to evolve. Yao practices martial arts with his Meinfoo while also keeping Xiao and his Aipom out of trouble. Finally, the Kiku has a Treecko for himself and Kuro has a Pawniard.
Eventually, they all manage to meet up with everyone talking excitedly or angrily about the pans sucking them into the game. Luciano especially exclaims they'll pay while Feliciano and Alfred are thanking Japan for doing something so cool. All of the countries start bonding with their partners and the Japans pass out Pokeballs and Ppkedexes for the fun has just begun. Kiku and Kuro regret nothing!
Meanwhile, in the real world: The other countries eventually notice there all missing and they come to the meeting to find them in the game. Because this is a golden entertainment moment, they immediately start passing out popcorn and watching them. Hungary almost chokes laughing when Prussia falls in the stream. Belarus has been locked in the closet after trying to destroy the game or in her words the 'device trapping her big brother.' Denmark gets jealous that he can't join the rest of the Awesome Trio. Spain feels kind of bad getting left out but likes that Lovino's Tauros. The states and provinces also sneak in and try to reverse engineer the device used to get into the game. They want a pokemon adventure too after all!

Fall anime 2020
And wow, it’s the last season of 2020! May the new year be a lot better, not just anime related!
{ Winter ‘18 } { Spring ‘18 } { Summer ‘18 } { Fall ‘18 } { Winter ‘19 } { Spring ‘19 } { Summer ‘19 } { Fall ‘19 } { Winter ‘20 } { Spring ‘20 } { Summer ‘20 }
Alongside the continuations and new seasons like fire force, danmachi, mahouka koukou no rettousei, golden kamuy and so, these are the new shows that we started:
100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru
It is pretty typical isekai anime, just that it has twist and they can go back to their world every time they do a quest. I could see potential in characters and their development, but they aren’t kind of characters I would care about or watch something with meh plot for. Maybe they are building up for something cool, but for now, it was kind of boring for me.
Akudama Drive
Overwhelmingly cool show about criminals in a dystopian future world. There is not much to say about the story without spoiling other than being so unnecessary cool that I loved it an unnatural amount! The characters, the setting, the action scenes, the animation and conversations, everything is just so aesthetic! I looked forward to it every week! Gonna miss them a lot. Just beware of a lot of violence and blood scenes (even though they are mostly censored).
By the Grace of the Gods
A really soft isekai with a boy who tames slimes. This is that one (at least) show of the season where you can just turn off your brain, watch some cuteness and forget about everything. It comes with no strings attached, you can drop it halfway and not think twice about it, it won’t make you feel bad in any way, just happiness and rainbows, and sometimes that’s what I need.
Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima
Women rule the world and pretty boys rap to assert dominance. That’s it, that’s the premise and if you think that ridiculous, yes, it truly is haha If you want to have a laugh, listen to some rapping (can’t say much about the quality of it, but I enjoyed it immensely, good va’s!), go watch it. The plot quality is debatable to say the least, but it’s not really an anime about the story, rather about the 12+ guys and their friendships and rivals and well... rap.
Ikebukuro West Gate Park
Although a little bit on the improbable side to happen IRL, Ikebukuro WGP showcases multiple situations where we dive behind the back of many realistic happenings in bigger cities. There is always some company in conflict with another thinking solving it in their way is the best possible choice, not taking into consideration what happens to the little people bearing their consequences. It is of course up to the “good mafia” guys to solve it. If you are reading the Webtoon Weak Hero and are in search for some more realistic gang divisions, then feel free to give this anime a try. It has a pretty lovable and crafty MC minus the high-school setting.
Jujutsu Kaisen
Ohh my where to start xD yes, you are looking at the fan favorite anime of this season and there is no doubt about it having that title. I can go on and try to convince everyone saying it has the perfect animation, soundtrack, appearance of the characters and so on but to truly experience it, you will have to watch it. Character development is on the slower track but it is understandable since it is obvious that the series will be a “long distance runner”. What impressed me the most is the perfect balance of humor and tragedy, so if you are one to typically enjoy shonen anime, give it definitely a try through the 3 episodes rule!
Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear
A girl got isekai’d in a game and now finds friends and people she cares about. Oh and she’s in a bear suit. This was one of those shows I watched for relaxation. There are no bad emotions coming from it and you can just relax, watch something that doesn’t need you to turn on your brain and try to be happy. If you are looking for something serious, you won’t really find it here.
Majo no Tabitabi
A witch that travels the world, visiting many cities and meeting a lot of people, hearing their stories and moving on. Not action packed, but has things happening throughout the eps. I thought it would be another happy show, but it turned to be quite dark in some episodes. Most episodes have their separate story with minimal connection to the previous ones and some are heartwarming and some are downright grim. Overall, the plot is interesting and the MCs development and way of thinking is interesting too!
Maoujou de Oyasumi
I KNEW this one is gonna be good when I first read the description of the manga in the bookstore 2 years ago xD What you see above is a small princess who wishes nothing more than a good sleep and a bunch of demons who decided to capture her. It becomes clear early on that she isn’t your typical prisoner as she sets out on quests to find stuff to make her rest more comfortable and NOTHING is gonna stand in her way. Your time watching this anime will be filled with heartfelt laughter and love for the all the characters. Yes, some people might be triggered by her actions and personality but I do believe since I (as a person who prefers to watch shonen) am impressed with it, a great number of people will like it.
Munou na Nana
I really love this anime. MC is an antagonist, pretty much an antihero, but she was made to believe that she is the hero. She is very smart, so anything she plots end up interesting. This show always keeps me on the end of my seat. And it’s a great combination of everyone has supernatural abilities + high school setting, but with a darker twist to it. It’s one of my favorites this season!
Noblesse
I read the webtoon and I am fan of it, so I am really happy to see Noblesse became an anime! Characters are really awesome and plot is action packed. I’m sure you won’t regret watching it! The humor, the lore and the action is very well balanced and it’s just a good story. If you feel like you really like the anime, but something is missing and you have some time, the webtoon is amazing! Of course, they actually did the anime quite well, but some jokes or additional train of thought that goes in the characters head cannot be all transferred into the animation. Oh and - watch Noblesse: Awakening before this! That’s like the crash course of the first arc of the story.
Taiso Samurai
A MAPPA anime about a japanese gymnast on the verge of retirement, his daughter and a ninja they adopted! That about covers it! It’s a soft and heartwarming story that really leaves a good feeling after watching it. The characters are lovable and the drama side of the story levels out with humor pretty well, without glossing over stuff too much. I can’t say much about the sports aspect since I don’t know much, but it was worth the watch even though it isn’t the most amazing action-packed anime ever. But it was a solid story, good charas and was just soft.
With a Dog AND a Cat, Every Day is Fun
One and a half minute of a lady with a cat and a dog being incredibly relatable.
Yuukoku no Moriarty
Ah yes, I’m a sucker for every possible variation of sherlock homes, so it’s no wonder how much I enjoyed this. It’s centered about Moriarty, but Sherlock has his time in the later half of the show. The animation is just so beautiful, I loved the stories and mysteries and the way they handled Moriarty as a character. Also a good mixture of mystery, people being hideous creatures, main characters being pretty af and humor. I should continue to the manga now.

Nami, the manipulative witch
A/N: Another ZoNa. Set during Sabody park arc. Posted in fan fiction, you can read this here as well.
Summary: Zoro thinks back to the first time he met Nami.
"She really was a manipulative witch."
"He didn't know when and how but it looks like he fell under her spell."
Angst, friendship and comfort.
Disclaimer: One piece doesn’t belong to me.
Hope you enjoy this fanfic. BTW Italics is what Zoro is thinking.
At first, he was only saving her because of Captain's orders. During this period, he realised how weak she really was. Faking a smile, faking a life, just to save her town, how stupid? She should've just cut them. Then again, she wasn't really a swordswoman like him.
To his surprise or not, he had to share a ship with the witch, enduring all her nagging about cleaning, cooking, sleeping, woman huh? Every single day, he pretended to sleep to get away from her ridiculous chores. When did Luffy die and make her queen? He was on edge. Literally every single day. He honed his senses just to run away from the witch because she had some kind of powers enabling him to do what she says, even when he doesn't want to. He was sure she ate a devil fruit at some point in her life. How else was he going to explain all of his behaviours.
She really was a manipulative witch.
As time went by, he started saving her more often, without any orders, and started looking for her to see if she was safe. It annoyed him that she couldn't save her ass, yet she talked big about saving others. Before he knew it, his eyes searched for her first every time he emerged on the deck of Merry Go. At first, to run away from her but soon, it started to search for her naturally; where she was, what she was doing, and whether she was safe. It was as if he couldn't see anything else but her.
Her scent always lingered around her; on her hair and her clothes. Since the first day he met, she smelt like tangerines, tangy but sweet. His muscles seemed to always relax whenever her scent lingered around him. He can still remember the vague smell of tangerines when he was defeated by kuma and was unconscious for weeks. And a small soft hand that clasped around his own. Before he knew it, he started napping on Nami's tangerine grove where it was peaceful and no one would dare to come without Nami's orders. It was the perfect place to get away from luffy and his childish antics with Usopp and Chopper, allowing him to nap as much as he wanted. He tells himself that the reason he enjoys taking naps in her Mikan grove is because he gets to avoid the noisy trio, but the real reason is because it smells just like her, Nami.
Everything about that witch was bewitching.
Now, he trains harder every day in this gloomy place owned by Mihawk. Hoping and praying she is safe, along with the crew. He remembered the pale look on her face as he was about to be squashed by kuma yet again in Sabody park. Their eyes met and soon, he saw nothing. But the vivid memory of her frightened look and her piercing scream stayed on his mind. He recalled it every night when he went to bed and his eye closed with regret every night.
If only he was stronger. If only Kuma wasn't there in Sabody Park. If only...
He needed to get stronger. 2 years, he had 2 years to get stronger.
He needed to protect her.
Then came the fateful day to reunite with everyone. Now he was 21 years old and he was beaming with joy to meet his crew members again. His eyebrows suddenly twisted and his lips turned into a frown as a tiny voice told him 'they didn't survive'. His fists turned into a ball, and his knuckles turned white. He stood in front of the sunny go and held his breath.
"They better be alive." He breathed out and whispered to himself. However, he couldn't set foot inside the thousand sunny because it wasn't the same without his crew. He took in another breathe and walked towards the bar instead.
He waited a day and two, and soon Franky or some robot who looked like Franky came. He smiled at the sight of Franky, happy he was alive, but it wasn't her. They went to the thousand sunny together and his eye searched for her naturally but she wasn't there. Her bright eyes, complimented by her bright hair and smile wasn't there.
After waiting around a few more days and killing time by fishing, there she was. After 2 long years, the person his eye searched for stood in front of her.
There she was.
Her hair grew in volume and length, and reached her waist. He noticed she got taller and also noticed, her provocative ways of dressing only increased further with time. But he wasn't going to complain. Afterall, looking was free. His eye then met hers.
His heart dropped when he saw the look on her face. Her bright eyes were filled with agony and her smile disappeared as soon she saw him. She looked at his one eye, and he felt like his heart was ripped apart from his chest and cut into a thousand pieces. He saw tears dropping down her face and heard a small gasp escape her. She ran towards Zoro and hugged him. She pulled him close and whispered "Thank God. Thank God you're alive."
He didn't believe in God, but if God existed, he thanked God for keeping Nami safe as well.
His hands went to wrap her and pull her closer. He inhaled her tangerine scent, sweet and tangy, and all of his muscles relaxed when he exhaled.
He didn't know when and how, but it looks like he fell under her spell.

Hope you like it.

Request: Sentence prompt with blackpink jennie: “I don’t want to be alone right now.”
A/N: Inspired by Bang Chan’s “I Hate To Admit It”
Part 2 Part 3
From past relationships, you knew how hard breakups could be. No matter how long the relationship lasted or how mutual the breakup was, there was always a part of you that felt empty after the other left your life. But you could have never guessed how hard your breakup with Jennie would be.
Everyone around you probably thought that you were fine. But you knew that there hadn’t been one day since Jennie walked out of your life almost a year ago that you hadn’t thought about her. Of course, your world kept spinning. You managed to land a great promotion at work and your friends were a great distraction. Nevertheless, you couldn’t stop your heart from aching, every time you saw something that reminded you of her.
Which was basically everything.
You had dated for three years, so it seemed like you had been at every place in the city together. When you were in the supermarket, you thought of her when you saw her favorite brand of chips. When you walked past a dog park, you thought about the times the two of you played there with Kuma and Kai. It was driving you insane. It seemed like your body physically reacted to the memories with her, making all of your limbs feel numb and heavy. Things that usually shouldn’t be straining felt like a full-body workout, because all of your energy had evaporated into thin air the day Jennie had left you behind. You hated the power that she still had over you although she wasn’t even near you. Especially since you seemed to be the only one that was suffering. Jennie had not only managed to move on from you after the breakup, no, it seemed like she had already moved on while the two of you were still dating.
“Look! This one kind of looks like Kuma.”
You giggled while pointing at one of the cookies that you just had shaped.
After a long time, Jennie finally had a day off and you decided to spend it in the shelter of your own four walls to do some domestic activities. It gave variety to your usually hectic days and you found yourself being completely immersed in this lifestyle. So immersed that you didn’t even notice how Jennie had stopped decorating the cookies and was looking at you instead.
“I think, I don’t want to do this anymore.”
She stated and you giggled in response.
“It’s ok. This is the last tray. I can finish it on my own and then we’ll do something else.”
Although you were having the time of your life right now, you didn’t mind doing something else. As long as the two of you did it together, you could be out there picking up trash and you would probably still be smiling.
“I didn’t mean the cookies.”
Jennie responded somewhat coldly, making you look up from the tray. You cocked your head to the side in confusion.
“I don’t want to do this anymore.”
She repeated her statement while pointing between the two of you.
Theoretically you understood what she was referring to, but practically you had trouble wrapping your head around it.
“W-what?”
You stuttered in disbelief and Jennie huffed.
“Look, Y/N. Don’t make this more complicated than it has to be. I’m sure you have noticed the change in our dynamic lately too.”
In your dynamic? You couldn’t belief how callously Jennie was talking right now. Wordlessly you stared at her while thinking about the past weeks. Of course, you hadn’t had much time for each other because of Jennie’s schedule, but you had always anticipated the days that you could spend together.
“No, quite frankly, I have not noticed that.”
You answered honestly, causing Jennie to massage the bridge of her nose.
“Jennie, if this is about the lack of time, we had for each other lately, I don’t want you to worry about that. I know your schedule has been crazy these past weeks, but there will be-“
“It hasn’t.”
Jennie cut you short and once more you felt like you were lacking some information to make sense out of all of this.
“Of course, I had some appointments, but I still had enough free time. I just didn’t come home, because... I had better things to do.”
Her words had managed to break through the wall of confusion that had surrounded you till now and left a deep cut in your heart.
Better things.
Those words played over and over again in your head like a broken record.
“I’m sorry if I’m too blunt, but I feel like it’s time we stop the charades.”
She continued, but you wished that she had stayed quiet. You had been nothing but honest in this relationship. Every confession, every love declaration, every compliment had been the truth. But apparently you had been the only one.
You wanted to scream at Jennie for being so heartless, but your body felt weak as tears started streaming down your cheeks. You trembled in anger, disappointment and pain. But there were no traces of those emotions in Jennie’s eyes. She looked bored. As if she was just sticking around a while to be polite before being able to close this chapter.
“Go.”
You choked out, causing Jennie to look at you. For a second her gaze lingered on you, but then she leaped to her feet uncomplainingly and grabbed her stuff before leaving you behind. No apology, no regret; just as if these past three years hadn’t happened.
As soon as the front door fell in its locks, you broke down to the floor and gasped for air. The walls around you seemed to close in on you and you curled up into a ball in search for protection. But no matter how tightly you tried to hold yourself together, your heart was ripped wide open.
How long had she only been playing with you?
“Earth to Y/N! Hello!!”
You were suddenly shaken by your shoulders, causing you to snap out of your memories.
“Dude, are you crying?”
Tami, one of your best friends and co-workers, asked perplexed.
You hadn’t even realized how deep you had been engulfed in your thoughts until you tasted the salt of your tears on your lips. Quickly you wiped your cheeks and put a smile on your lips.
“No, pabo. My allergies have just been hitting me hard lately. What have you been saying?”
Tami looked at you skeptically for a second, but then she decided that her urge to tell you something was more important than your weird behavior.
“I’ve been asking you what you will be wearing tonight.”
Tonight? Confused you sifted through your calendar mentally but couldn’t think of any birthday parties or other invites.
“The vernissage?”
Tami continued annoyed as she noticed that you couldn’t follow.
You grunted in response and let your head fall to your desk. You had totally forgotten, no, repressed that event that was marked with a scull in your calendar.
While Jennie and you had still been dating, the two of you had often went out together. Visiting bars, having dinner at fancy restaurants, accepting the invites of her high society friends to their million-dollar mansions. Your relationship surely had never been boring. Jennie’s network ranged throughout the whole city and as time passed, parts of her network became yours too. Most of her friends were actually a lot more approachable than they seemed at first and you eventually found yourself hanging with them even when Jennie wasn’t with you.
One of them was Jiyong. He had always been rather down to earth despite his extravagant clothing style and millions of dollars in his bank account, making him weasel his way into your heart in no time. And even after the breakup, he had assured you his friendship, leading to this dilemma now. His invite to his vernissage had reached you a few weeks ago and since then you had been trying to find a way to avoid it. You couldn’t just deny his invite, because you knew how important the event was for him. But you really didn’t want to go either, because she would be there.
Jennie and Jiyong had already been friends long before you. He was one of the few friends, she actually liked and kept by her side. Therefore, you knew that she wouldn’t miss his first big vernissage. Of course, you had told yourself in the course of the past weeks that meeting Jennie on neutral ground wouldn’t be an issue; after all, you had broken up a year ago already. But even if you hated to admit it, you knew that this wasn’t true. If walking past a dog park made your heart ache, you were sure that seeing Jennie would probably knock the air out of your lungs and make you suffocate.
Somehow you needed to get out if this death trap.
“You’re not thinking about bailing last minute, right?”
As if she could read your thoughts, Tami looked at you suspiciously with one eyebrow raised after you had been quiet for a while.
“I really don’t want to go.”
You whined, causing your best friend to huff in frustration.
“What is your deal, Y/N? Of course, it’s hard to meet your ex, but it’s not like you’re still mourning after her.”
She exclaimed annoyed and you avoided her gaze; if only she knew.
“I don’t know. It’s just... not really my thing. All those rich people and the paparazzi.”
You lied, but you knew that Tami wouldn’t take no for an answer.
“You’re right, that sounds absolutely terrible. Getting free champagne, eating appetizer from a five-star Michelin chef and flirting with millionaires. Such an agony.”
She responded mockingly and you wished that you had never asked her to be your plus one in the first place. But Jiyong had given you two tickets and it was clear from the beginning that you wouldn’t be able to go there without some moral support.
“We’re going, Y/N. Wear something fancy, I’m picking you up at 7.”
Tami concluded your discussion without waiting for an answer before returning to her desk again and leaving you with your thoughts.
A bad feeling in the pit of your stomach was telling you that this night would become a disaster. It made your anxiety increase tenfold and when it was 7 at last, you felt like throwing up. But precisely when the clock reached the full hour, your doorbell rang, indicating the arrival of Tami. For a second, you toyed with the idea of just hiding under your covers and ignoring all of your responsibilities. Then, however, you remembered Jiyong’s text that he had sent you earlier in which he thanked you for your support despite the struggles that you would have to go through because of it. With a huff, you accepted your fate before grabbing all of your necessities and walking to the front door.
“Are you ready???”
Tami greeted you with her shrill voice as soon as you swung the door open, making you flinch in surprise.
“Yeah.”
You cheered less then excited. But Tami didn’t care; quickly she interlinked your arms and pulled you to the elevator.
“This is going to be the best night ever!”
She yelled, making you believe that you’d probably soon have a headache additionally to your nausea.
Your lack of enthusiasm, however, didn’t keep Tami from gushing nonstop till you reached the location of the vernissage. It was an old warehouse with a rundown façade, but the sportscars parked in front of it with their overdressed passengers gave away that this place was far from being an ordinary building. People of all kinds lined up in front of it although it was clear that some of them were nowhere near to being given access by the scary looking bouncers. Nevertheless, they had the chance to sniff the air of the rich and glamorous, even if it was just by looking from the outside in.
“Wow.”
Tami gaped next to you when she saw all the VIPs dressed in their expensive-looking clothes passing the bouncers with ease. Her pace got slower with every step and you ended up pulling her to the door where the bouncer eyed you dismissively.
“Invite.”
He murmured impolitely, probably thinking that you were just two wannabes. After dating Jennie for three years though, you were already used to it. Flashing him a big smile, you dug out your invite and shoved it into his hands. Perplexed he scanned the paper before giving you a suspicious look.
“Name.”
His demand was even ruder than before and you needed to swallow a snarky comment.
“Y/N L/N.”
You hissed instead, waiting for the satisfaction that would come a second later when he’d realize that you were actually invited.
Expectedly his eyes widened when he found your name on the list and reluctantly, he let you pass to get inside. You flashed him a last triumphant smile before entering the building where you were greeted by a turmoil of people and some futuristic beats. The room was larger than expected and decorated with Jiyong’s artworks whose illumination was the only source of light.
“This place looks amazing.”
Tami whispered as if her voice could disturb the mysterious and extravagant atmosphere.
But despite the amazing artworks and the carefully designed interior, your focus was not where it was supposed to be. Attentively you scanned the faces of the guests instead. Not with the intent of finding any A-list celebrities like Tami, but with the intent of finding the one person that you were not hoping to find.
“She’s not here, yet.”
A sudden voice from beside you made you jump in surprise.
It was Jiyong who had apparently managed to look right through you after taking one glance at you. Sheepishly you grinned before opening your arms to invite him for a hug.
“Everything is so beautiful. You can be really proud of yourself.”
You said to distract from the fact that you had been caught red-handed.
“Yeah right. I’m sure you have been looking at my art.”
He responded doubtingly, causing you to blush. Gratefully, however, Tami cleared her throat next to you in need for attention, saving you from an unpleasant conversation about your miserable state even one year after the breakup.
“Ah yes, this is Tami, Jiyong. My co-worker and a really good friend of mine.”
You introduced Tami who immediately started buttering up Jiyong with compliments, causing you to roll your eyes. You looked at the scene in front of you for a while until secondhand embarrassment took over your body and you decided to save both of your friends.
“Come on, let’s look at the art.”
Tami looked obviously displeased when you pulled her away from Jiyong who was starting to feel a little uncomfortable because of the exuberant attention.
“We were totally vibing.”
She hissed once you were out of Jiyong’s earshot and you just chuckled in response. That girl would probably play every trick to get herself the number of a millionaire tonight.
You wished that you had been able to place a bet on that as Tami was out of sight not even a minute later after running off to snap some pictures with a famous fashion blogger. You, on the other hand, couldn’t be less interested in the other guests of tonight. You just wanted to dawdle away the bare minimum of time to be able to flee the scene without being impolite. Therefore, you combed through Jiyong’s artworks instead while trying to stay clear of all people in order to avoid making unpleasant encounters. But despite your friend’s obvious talent, you couldn’t enjoy his event. The fear of accidentally running into Jennie was breathing down your neck, although you had been able to fight your nausea with the hope of being able to leave before her arrival.
Your hope was destroyed though, when a murmur suddenly went through the crowd. Like magnets, the guests were pulled to the entrance and you didn’t need to turn around to know that she had arrived. You kept your gaze stubbornly fixated on one of Jiyong’s paintings, but you couldn’t block out the whispers around you.
“Look at her dress.”
“Wow her skin is glowing.”
“She’s even prettier in person.”
People gasped left and right to you and it felt like someone was twisting your heart. Only the thought of being in the same room with her made you feel nauseous again and you anxiously started chewing on your lip. Your body almost ached because you were refusing to turn around, but your brain forbade you to give in to the temptation. With every second the whispers got louder, indicating that Jennie was getting closer to you. You clenched your fists as you concentratedly tried to keep staring ahead while fighting your own heart that was screaming at you to finally look at her.
Did she look different? Was she looking for you like you did for her?
Your curiosity was killing you, making your head turn involuntarily to the side like Jennie was radiating some sort of gravitational force. A quick glance over the shoulder couldn’t harm anybody, right? You would allow yourself to look at her just for a second to appease your thirst; nothing more.
But as soon as Jennie stepped into your field of vision, all of your resistance crumbled. Your breath hitched in your throat and everything around her became blurry as you were only able to see her. Her feline eyes were scanning the dumbfounded crowd while a smirk on her lips was giving away how much she loved the attention. You hated her smugness, but at the same time it was making your knees feel weak. She was radiating pure power and superiority, making you realize that she was like a drug that you were addicted to. Only seeing her was energizing you more than anything else in the past year. Finally, you were feeling like yourself again and your thirst for more grew.
You needed more of your drug. You needed more of Jennie.
Your feet were about to follow the draw that was pulling you to her when your trance was suddenly disturbed by the increasingly loud murmurs. Confused, you furrowed your brow as the blocked-out background started to come to the fore. You were able to see the bigger picture again and noticed how the chatter of the people had gotten more agitated. Groups of people were sticking their heads together while eyeing Jennie derogatorily causing her smirk to falter. Suddenly she didn’t look arrogant anymore; suddenly she looked like your Jennie again. The girl that was afraid of thunder and preferred to watch Disney movies because all of the other movies were too suspenseful for her.
You tried to understand the chatter around you, but it was too jumbled. Nevertheless, it took no genius to know that they were talking badly about your ex. You knew that you should probably feel some sort of satisfaction right now; after all she had chipperly ripped your heart out without any form of regret, just to eat you alive and spit you out again. It should make you feel good to know that karma was coming for her. But of course, you didn’t enjoy seeing her suffering. She looked so lost in that moment and you cursed yourself for wanting to wrap your arms around her and whisper sweet nothings into her ear to comfort her. But unfortunately, that wasn’t your place anymore. Instead, all you could do was to try picking up some words from around you to figure out what was going on.
“Dating scandal.”
Those two words suddenly sounded clearly directly next to you and you jumped in surprise before turning your head. Jiyong had once again managed to sneak up on you. He was standing next to you with a champagne glass in his hand while zeroing in on Jennie.
“Huh?”
You asked confused, making him look at you.
“She has been entangled in another dating scandal. That’s why the crowd is being especially wild around her tonight. Some hope for more gossip, while others just want a piece of her fame.”
He explained and your heart clenched.
Not, however, because you learned that Jennie had been in another relationship in the meantime. You hadn’t expected anything less from her. She was the embodiment of grace and perfection, so it was to no surprise that she had captured someone else in her net of temptations. No, what hurt you more was the fact that once again people seemed to forget that Jennie was just human. Like vultures they were surrounding her, waiting for a slip in order to pounce on her and tear her down.
Over and over again, they criticized her for the stupidest things. Every step that she took was supervised, leaving her scared and insecure after being in the industry for so long. But no one seemed to notice. Everyone else only saw her perfect smile and sublime demeanor. It was all just a game for them for their entertainment. A game with no regard for fatalities.
Silently you unlocked the door and tiptoed into the house. After you had read the news, nothing could hold you at work anymore and you faked sick to leave early. Blackpink had showcased their comeback yesterday. Jennie had been incredibly nervous beforehand, but you had assured her that all of her hard work would pay off and that there would be nothing to worry about. But once more the netizens proved you wrong.
Today an enormous amount of hate comments about Jennie were flooding the internet. Bad dancer. Weak link of Blackpink. Lazy. The usual insults were thrown at your girlfriend’s head and when you texted her to check up on her, you received no answer. You knew that this could only mean that she had read the news and had broken down again.
Carefully you entered her room and saw her balled up on her bed.
“Baby?”
You whispered softly once you were standing in front of her, but you got no reaction out of her.
Her trembling shoulders, however, were giving away that she wasn’t sleeping but crying instead. Therefore, you sat down on the edge of her bed and gently brushed some hair out of her face. Although the room was only dimly lit, you could see that Jennie’s eyes were red and puffy, causing you to almost wince in pain.
“They hate me, Y/N.”
She sobbed silently and you instantly lifted her up to pull her into your arms.
“They are just jealous, jagi. Fame always comes with hate. But there are so many people that love you; so many.”
You whispered into her ear, but her sobs kept echoing in the room. Helplessly you pressed her against your body in hopes to give her the comfort that she needed while you were lacking any words to make her feel better.
If only you could find a way to make all of this hate go away.
Unfortunately, you never found a way though. Your relationship with Jennie continued to be a cycle of your girlfriend soaring through the sky due to all the praise in one moment and hitting rock bottom the next. And now a year after your breakup, it didn’t seem to be much different; only that you weren’t there anymore to pick up the pieces.
A mixture of guilt and hatred for the people around you made your skin crawl and you could feel your irritation getting the better of you.
“Excuse me.”
You said to Jiyong before storming off into the direction of the restrooms to avoid seeing Jennie’s broken figure any longer.
With all your power, you swung open the door of the restroom, making it slam loudly against the wall. But you couldn’t care less, you needed to do something to get rid of your anger. With big steps, you headed straight for the sink where you looked at yourself in the mirror. Your breath was fast and shallow like you had just run a marathon. Once again, your feelings for Jennie caused a physical reaction in you against your will.
Quickly you turned on the tap and splashed some water on your cheeks in hopes to cool your head. Your thoughts were racing, and you needed to slow them down to prevent a short circuit in your brain. Closing your eyes, you focused on your breathing and gradually managed to slow it down along with your heartbeat.
This was none of your business anymore, you thought. Jennie wasn’t yours. She had probably never been. Her actions were her responsibility and it wasn’t your job to fix her. It was a hard pill to swallow, but maybe tonight could be your wake-up call. It was time to let your brain guide you again, instead of your heart. Therefore, you kept reasoning with yourself until you couldn’t feel your heart jumping out of your chest anymore. When you opened your eyes again, you sternly looked at yourself in the mirror.
“None.Of.Your.Freaking.Business.”
You warned yourself as you were still struggling to ban all thoughts of Jennie from your mind. Maybe you could speak your disinterest into existence.
Like a mantra, you kept mumbling this sentence under your breath while touching up your appearance until you were pleased with the outcome. With determination you nodded to yourself in the mirror before feeling ready to leave the restroom. Maybe you weren’t ready yet to meet Jennie, but you surely felt confident enough to be in one room with her and just let her be. With newfound positivity, you swung open the door, only to find your confidence being destroyed a second later. Another person was almost running down the hallway with their face lowered and buried behind their hands. There was no time for you to get out of the way, causing the two of you to bump shoulders. Only then, the person lifted their head and with wide eyes, you realized that it was Jennie who seemed to be fleeing from the crowd.
“Y/N.”
She breathed evidently surprised when her gaze met yours. It seemed like she hadn’t expected anyone to be here, especially not you. There were tears in her eyes and the smug look from before had disappeared. Concern immediately washed over you, leaving nothing of the newfound determination behind. Jennie, however, noticed your pitiful look, making her put up her façade again. As if there weren’t tears shimmering in her eyes, she flashed you a gummy smile.
“It’s been a while! How are you doing?”
Jennie asked overly cheerful.
You didn’t know what hurt you more. Suddenly being so close to her or having to watch how she pretended to be fine once again when she obviously wasn’t. Why did she always have to mime the strong one?
But despite knowing that she was hurting herself, you still felt inferior to her. Something about her always managed to make you feel weak. Her feline eyes were scanning all the details in your face and you felt yourself getting nervous under her gaze. It was melting away the little rest of confidence that you had been guarding, leaving you vulnerable and scared. Looking into Jennie’s face, threw you back to the day, she had decided that she didn’t want to be yours anymore. Like every day the past year, the memories choked you up and made you wordlessly stare at Jennie.
“Y/N?”
Only her soft voice was able to break your train of thoughts and you cleared your throat to recollect yourself.
“Um... fine. I’m perfectly fine.”
You lied while avoiding her eyes. Suddenly, however, a sensation on your hand made you jump in surprise. You snapped up your gaze to see that Jennie had reached out to touch your hand.
“That’s a lie.”
She simply stated, causing you to reflexively back away to protect your personal space.
“W-what? Don’t be silly.”
You chuckled nervously, but it seemed like your insecurity had suddenly turned a switch inside of Jennie, causing her confidence to return. She took a step forward while eyeing you with a piercing gaze.
“Really? Then why are you shaking?”
Only now you realized that the adrenaline that was rushing through your veins right now was making you tremble. Quickly you hid your hands behind your back to save your face.
“I’m not.”
Your answer made Jennie chuckle and a cold shudder ran down your spine. It seemed like she had found a distraction from the pain that was probably still pulling at her heartstrings because of earlier; she had found a prey that she could easily bring down despite being ailing herself. But you wouldn’t let her torture you, just to make her feel better. You wouldn’t go down without a fight.
“How are you though? I heard about the dating scandal.”
Your voice wasn’t as confident as you would have wanted it to be, but you could still see in Jennie’s face that you had struck a nerve. A dark shadow flashed over it and you almost grinned, because you had finally won the upper hand. Your smugness faltered a second later, however, when a new flame flared up in Jennie’s eyes.
“What can I say, fame always comes with hate.”
Emotionlessly, she repeated your words from all those years ago, causing you to gulp thickly. If you had wanted to bring out the vulnerable girl in Jennie, you had failed miserably. Instead, you seemed to have poked the flame in her that wanted to consume you.
“Do you remember how you used to take care of me when I was involved in another scandal?”
Jennie asked while inching closer to you.
You didn’t know what intentions she had right now, but you were sure that they were not of the good kind. Jennie always had been an asserter of unhealthy coping mechanisms and the humiliation from before had deeply hurt her, even if she tried to play it cool. Someone needed to pay for it, and something was telling you that this would be you.
With her eyes fixed on you, Jennie creeped closer while you kept stumbling backwards. Eventually, however, you backed against the door of the restroom, leaving you trapped and defenseless against Jennie’s attack.
“I miss those times.”
Your heart missed a beat as Jennie said exactly the words that you had wanted to hear.
You were aware that they were a lie. But your brain didn’t seem to be strong enough to make you act by your better knowledge. Instead you stood perfectly still as Jennie was now standing directly in front of you, in order to calmly, but surely take down all the pillars that were supporting your defiance.
“Jennie.”
You breathed with your last willpower while pushing her away halfheartedly.
Your resistance was of no use, however, as Jennie leaned into you, making you feel her hot breath against your neck.
“I just don’t want to be alone right now.”
She said barely above a whisper, but you understood every word clearly as her lips were only inches next to your ear. A shudder ran down your spine and you had to fight a moan that was threatening to leave your mouth. Every part of your body was tingling in anticipation for Jennie’s touch now.
She immediately noticed the change in your demeanor, causing her to push down the handle of the restroom door in order to shove you inside. In lightning speed, she checked all the stalls for any unwanted spectators before locking the door. You gulped thickly as you were standing helplessly in the middle of the room like a lamb in front of a slaughterer. Your brain was telling you to run while the rest of your body was telling you to stay, leaving you paralyzed. A mischievous smirk was playing on Jennie’s lips as she was walking towards you while swaying her hips seductively. She hadn’t even touched you yet, but the heat between your legs was already making you shift uncomfortably from one leg to the other. Jennie laughed sardonically when she noticed your desperate state and pushed you backwards until you were pressed against the sink.
“Impatient, are we?”
She hummed and you lowered your head in embarrassment. You didn’t know what you hated more. The fact that you were still so affected by her or the fact that Jennie knew about it.
“Don’t be embarrassed, baby. I’ve made you wait too long, haven’t I?”
Her fingers sneaked under your chin to lift your head up. She made you meet her eyes while her other hand unbuttoned your pants. Attentively, she watched your reaction while wallowing in the satisfaction that your obedience gave her.
“Lucky for you, we don’t have all night. So I won’t make you wait any longer.”
With those words, she crashed her lips into yours, not hesitating to slip her tongue into your mouth. But you didn’t mind. Like she had said, you had waited way too long for this. Your arms found their way around her neck to pull her closer as Jennie put her hands on your hips. She detached your lips to kiss along your jawline down to your neck where she sucked on your pulse point. You closed your eyes immediately to indulge in the sensation. Jennie had always known how to work the weaknesses of your body perfectly.
While she made sure to mark your neck, one of her hands sneaked under your shirt to your breasts where she gave your left one a firm squeeze. A moan escaped your mouth that was cut short though when the handle of the restroom door was suddenly pushed down. Automatically, you straightened up and pushed Jennie back who looked at you disapprovingly.
“It’s locked, babe. Don’t worry.”
Calmly she pressed you back in place, but you couldn’t stop glancing at the door.
“But...”
You started, but Jennie shut you up with a kiss.
“They can use the other bathroom. But I promise to make it quick.”
With a swift movement, Jennie pulled down your pants along with your panties. She pressed you harshly against the sink, making you yelp loudly when your bare skin came in contact with the cold surface. You could spot a smirk on Jennie’s lips just before she attached her lips to yours again; she was enjoying this way too much. She kissed you roughly, making you feel breathless and desperate for more. You were sure that the wetness between your legs was starting to drip down by now, causing you to press your legs together. Jennie, however, immediately protested as she was exploring your ass and inner thighs with her hand.
“Uh uh.”
She shook her head and spread your legs again.
“Let me help you with that.”
Suddenly you felt two fingers thrusting into your entrance without a warning. You gripped the edge of the sink hard, turning your knuckles white in order to stop you from screaming profanities. Jennie didn’t hesitate to start pumping her fingers while circling your clit with her thumb, making your legs begin to feel like jelly. Noticing your struggle, Jennie pressed you harder against the sink with her lower body while wrapping her arm around your waist to steady you. As the knot in your stomach was beginning to grow you pulled her closer to you and buried your face in the crook of her neck to muffle your moans that were steadily getting louder.
“Why don’t you let me hear your moans? You sound so beautiful.”
Jennie complained before pushing you back to be able to kiss you again. Soon you were running out of breath though as her fingers kept slipping in and out of you, causing you to throw your head back to gasp for air. The pressure in your stomach wanted to be released, but Jennie chose to move her fingers in a torturing slow pace to tease you a little longer. Impatiently you rolled your hips against Jennie’s hand, but she pulled away every time you were close to hitting the right spot, causing you to whine involuntarily.
“Does that feel good?”
Jennie asked teasingly while nibbling on your earlobe.
“Please...”
You choked out, desperate for her to stop this torture.
“Only because you asked so nicely.”
She giggled before licking along your jawline and finally picking up the pace of her fingers. She thrusted deep inside you, making you unable to control your moans anymore. The room was filled with your panting, the sound of your wetness and eventual curse words that rolled over your tongue when Jennie hit the right spot. It didn’t take long till you could feel yourself chasing your high, making you desperately cling to Jennie in fear that your legs would give in. Your fingers entangled in her hair, but she didn’t stop pumping in and out of you, sending you over the edge eventually. All the tension left your body at once and your hips stutteringly bucked forward to ride your high as long as possible. Only when you felt like you couldn’t take any more, Jennie finally removed her fingers and pushed herself off you. Shakily you propped yourself against the sink while trying to catch your breath.
Although you had shared this form of intimacy a hundred times before, you could feel yourself getting shy as you were standing in front of Jennie exposed like that. She, on the other hand, showed no signs of shame or embarrassment; as a matter of fact, she wasn’t showing any emotions at all. Nonchalantly, she walked to the sink next to you to wash her hands before fixing her hair and makeup. Dumbfounded you watched her while waiting for your legs to follow your commands again. Jennie, however, didn’t pay any attention to you. Only when her appearance was back to her satisfaction again, she took notice of you. Her eyes scanned your body until stopping at the mess that she had left between your legs. Wordlessly, she grabbed some paper towels and shoved them into your hands.
“Clean up.”
Jennie demanded before checking herself in the mirror a last time and walking to the door.
Your body automatically straightened up and you almost yelled at her to stop. You had known that this meant nothing to her, but you still didn’t want her to leave; not yet. You wanted to hold her just for a little while longer even if you knew that it was just a lie. But when her eyes met yours, you knew that there was no use in begging. The Jennie that you had known wasn’t there anymore. Once again, she stared at you wordlessly before reaching for the door handle. No apology, no regret; she left as if you were just two strangers that had met by accident.
Tears sprung to your eyes, but this time, you didn’t break down. Your heart had gotten used to the daily torture that Jennie put you through, even if she probably didn’t know about it. She had broken your heart, but she wasn’t to blame for the agony that you were going through ever since. She had lost her way somewhere along the line of your relationship and you should have given up on her. But you had been too stubborn to accept it. You were still hoping until this day that the old Jennie would return eventually. Maybe one day she would remember all the whispered promises that you had told each other under the covers. There was no point in giving up on your hope now.
You had waited so long for her already, you didn’t mind waiting some more.
Just a little longer.

Is it wrong that I hate a dream of a little girl hanging herself and then i see Osone die?
...
...
*Toko fizzles back from Genocide Jack to her regular self.
Dammit...
...Sorry I...I didn’t...
...It’s ok...We didn’t have much choice...this was our only option...
...
There had to be another way...there just had to be...it was just the heat of the-
Toko, Toko!
*Komaru cups Toko’s face with her hands.
It’s ok. This was...it felt inevitable...I’m not happy about it, but what matters is that it’s over.
...
You’re right...
Now...Let’s go save Akeru...
*Komaru and Toko ascend the elevator shaft with Komaru’s hacking gun, and eventually get back up to the top floor. They go through the door from before and up some stairs to a locked staff room.
*WHAM!*
*Toko kicks the door wide open.
AKERU!
...!
*Akeru is sitting in the middle of the room. Her face is pale, and she looks like she hasn’t eaten much for the last few days.
Toko...? Komaru...?
Akeru! Are you ok!?
You...really came for me...!
Of course we did! Oh, Akeru!
*Komaru and Toko rush over and glomp the ninja girl into a hug.
*sniff* uhuh...*cough*
*All three of them break down into tears...
What...what happened to Osone?
She’s gone...
Oh...
And...Akeru...I know might be a bad time to tell you this but...your warrior friends-
I know...!
Huh?
...
*Akeru points to a projector in the corner of the room.
A projector?
That...was hooked up to Mr Kuma’s helmet...
You mean-!?
When he killed all of them...killed Kazuomi...and when he fought all of you...I saw it all...so...I know...
God damn you Osone...!
Ngh...!
*Toko hugs her even tighter.
It’s ok...I’m ok...
Are you sure? This is your friends and family we’re talking about.
I know...but...
It’s because they were like my family that I know how they would think. They wouldn’t want me to suffer because they were dead.
They all cared about me...and they were willing to risk their lives to make sure I was safe...
I let them all down enough already...so...when I saw that...I refused. I refused to give into the Despair that Narumi threw at me...!
And yeah...I’m sad...but if I stay sad...I’d be betraying their wishes. What kind of Warrior would I be if I didn’t shoulder the burden?
You’re...You’re strong Akeru. Too strong for your own good...
I can see now for sure why they all followed you. You’re incredible!
You...probably know about my past too, don’t you? You know about my mom...And what I did to her...
We do...but we hold none of this against you. That woman was sick and twisted, and Osone was no better.
It hurts, doesn’t it though? Even though your own family were scum, you still regret having to take matters in your own hands and destroy them yourself...don’t you?
How do you...?
You and I are the same. Let’s just say I’ve got one big story to tell you when we get out of here...
And...are you sure you’re ok?
I’m struggling but...I’m fine. Right now I’m just looking for a decent meal and a shower...
We’ll get you both, for sure!
Really? Thanks mo-!
uh...
...!
...
Did you...almost call me...Mom?
No! You heard nothing!
Ahahaha!
HNGH!
Come on...let’s get the hell out of here...We’ve got a lot of explaining to do...

Writer's Month - Day 10: sunshine | aged up/deaged
Another fandom? Yes. Another OC? Yes. Do I regret this? Yes. Will I apologize. No. It's too late for that. Time for some cringe, because this is based off an anime. Namely One Piece. What you need to know for this story is that my OC (Inari) has an ability that's based off a master-servant relationship. Basically, Inari always has a master. She has to obey their every command and, in return, gets powers related to their personality or own powers and abilities. Her allegiance/her master changes whenever someone defeats her old master or she is saved from death by someone, leading that person to become her new master.
Okay, have fun. Don't die from the cringe.
Inari stretched and let the sun shine down on her face. It was a lovely day in the New World, even if it had been somewhat chaotic. First the volcanic ashes raining down and now this stranger that Luffy had decided to pick up… Hopefully he was at least nice. A sudden crash coming from the kitchen ripped Inari out of her thoughts. “I’ll go check it out”, she called to Franky, who was standing at the helm. She jumped up and sprinted across the ship, to the kitchen, almost bumping into Zoro and Sanji in the doorway. The door and wall segment of Sick Bay had been blasted apart and Luffy was laying on the floor in the rubble, getting up. The stranger had woken up. He stood where the door once had been with his gigantic mechanical arm, standing at double an average person’s height, looking menacing as ever. “Nami-san, go outside”, Sanji told Nami. Nami nodded, visibly happy to get out of there. “Take care of it, please”, she said, then hurried out. “Straw Hat Luffy”, the stranger said menacingly, walking slowly towards Luffy. “Why are you a pirate?” Luffy grinned. “To become the Pirate King”, he said with pride. The stranger’s mechanical arm made an intimidating wind-up sound as he clenched its large fist. “Pirate King… Pirate King?!” Suddenly, he hurled his fist down on Luffy, who was narrowly able to escape. Zoro and Sanji, being the number two and three fighters of the crew, charged at the stranger in defence of their captain. Inari rushed after them, seeing it as her duty, even if her allegiance currently did not lay with any of them. Angrily, the stranger ripped the dinner table out of its place and hurled it away while Luffy was still standing on it, almost sending him flying into the stove. “Get out, everyone!”, Inari called to the rest of the crew. “We’ll handle this!” Just then, Sanji landed the first hit, as evidenced by a loud bang. But the stranger managed to block his attack and throw him away since Sanji’s foot had gotten stuck in one of the parts of his mechanical arm. Luckily, Sanji landed safely and skillfully on his feet. Then, Zoro stormed at the man, drawing his sword. A sharp, metallic clang cut through the air as it clashed against the large metal arm. The stranger blocked the attack, prompting Zoro to jump out of the way of his punch. Now it was Luffy’s time to attack. He managed to get only two punches in before being knocked away by a kick in the stomach. Inari watched closely from cover behind the overturned dinner table, unsure of what to do. “He’s strong”, she gasped. Never since their encounter with Kuma two years ago had she seen someone who had been able to hold their own against all three members of the “Monster Trio” of Luffy, Zoro and Sanji. “Be careful, Inari-san”, Sanji warned her. Quickly, he jumped into an attack from behind. But this backfired horribly on him as he was thrown right back, crashing into the ladder that led up to the balcony. Zoro attempted the same right after, but was also blocked. Then, he charged right at the stranger, only to be grabbed and slammed into the ground, leaving him winded. Inari gasped for air. Zoro usually took many more hits before showing even the slightest sign of damage. Luffy tried taking revenge, but was blocked off. Angrily, Inari threw a jet of water at the stranger’s chest to throw him off balance. This did practically nothing. It was like fighting a fire with a water pistol. But at least it distracted him and gave Zoro the time he needed to get on his feet. “Damn you, Z!”, Luffy yelled before charging into action once again. “Z…”, Inari whispered. The name branded itself into her skull. Steadily, the four of them kept attacking this Z. If this was going to be an endurance battle, so be it! He could not hold up against all of them forever. Suddenly, something large bumped into the ship. Z grinned. “They’re here.” A cold shower ran down Inari’s spine. More attackers? If they were on his level, the other six crew members would not be able to hold even one of them off for long. Inari drew her war fans and charged into close combat like her peers.
Even if her attacks were not leaving a scratch, the least she could do was try. Finally, they got a minute to breathe as they were able to knock Z back together. “Things are getting bad out there as well”, Sanji remarked. Really, there was shouting coming from outside. It did not sound like much, but Inari knew to trust his extensively trained senses. “Let’s end this now, everyone!”, Luffy decided. They charged at Z with new energy, doing the best they could in this small space while also trying not to destroy more things. Suddenly, Inari found herself face to face with Z, his giant mechanical fist slamming down towards her. Just before it could crack open her skull, she felt herself being grabbed by the waist and pulled out of danger. She felt the flurry under her skin of her allegiance changing. It may sound hard to believe, but she could feel her powers switching, the symbol on her left arm being warped into a different shape and her hair and eyes changing color. “Are you okay, Inari-san?”, Sanji asked worriedly, setting her down on her feet. “Yeah, I’m fine”, Inari said quickly. She knew that, every time her allegiance changed, it meant she had just narrowly been saved from death. Even though this had happened countless times already, it still gave her shivers every time it happened. She took a deep breath and the fear was out of her system. Behind them, Zoro tumbled across the floor, catching himself after another attack. He cursed and charged forward again. “Go outside and help the others”, Sanji said to Inari. “He’s not an enemy for you.” Inari could already feel her body getting ready to move to the door by itself. That had been an order. She nodded, smiled and sprinted for the door, dodging the splinters that were shooting from the dinner table splintering apart.
When she stepped on deck, she was greeted by a frightening sight. They were surrounded by large warships. On the grass stood a man in a weird ninja-like costume, doing a weird dance. Squiggling and tightening in his rhythm were vines that were squeezing the air out of Usopp, Franky and Brook, even if the latter did not possess lungs in the first place. There was also a woman with blue hair in a cape, presenting purple flames in her hand. But what confused her more was what was further away from her: Robin had shrunk, seeing as her sweater was now too big for her, and looked significantly younger. But Nami had turned into a kid and was completely sunken in her coat. And Chopper… Chopper was tiny. He looked like a tiny plush figure one might win at a price counter, with large eyes, a large head and a small body. “Inari!”, Chopper screamed, his voice even more high-pitched than usual. “You have to defeat her from afar! Don’t come down here!” Inari furrowed her brows and nodded. She took on a combative position, slashing her fans at the strange caped woman. Blades of air rushed at her opponent. Her first strike hit, as did the second and third, drawing the woman closer to the middle of the mast. The strange man continued his dance, aggressively chanting “Mosa! Mosa!” At his commands, vines wound themselves towards Inari, but they fell victim to her bladed fan. However, this made her lose her focus on the woman, who shot a ball of her purple fire at her. Inari was able to catch the ball in a gust of wind and divert it. Suddenly, a loud noise erupted behind her. She whirled around, just in time to be simultaneously hit by a ball of purple fire and hurled away by the shock wave of an explosion that tore apart the entire floor the kitchen was one. She shot backwards through the air and crashed into the mast, losing consciousness. When she landed on the floor beneath, between Sanji and Zoro, who had also been knocked away by the explosion, she had shrunk significantly in size. The jumpsuit that had once been short now almost fit her entire body. Her tattoo covered not only her wrist but almost the entirety of her forearm. During the bombing that followed, Inari did not move an inch. She woke up only hours later in her bed, with a throbbing pain in her head and the body of a six-year-old. Her room looked gigantic now. When she stepped out onto the deck, she collapsed to her knees. Everything was damaged or even fully destroyed. Their beautiful ship… “Oh, Sunny…”, Inari whispered. “What are we going to do now?”
