Ah OK I'm nervous about self-promo, but here goes nothing. If you enjoy my work then you can find me on AO3 under the handle WeasleyKitten01. I currently have on offer:
A long-form Perciver fic (from 6th year through to after the war so very angsty in places) [WIP] - you guys, I've just reached over 400 kudos on this one and I can't tell you what that means to me <3
An A/B/O AU Wolfstar fic [complete] - part one of the Save Me series, NSFW and fluffy
An A/B/O AU Jegulus fic [WIP] - part two of the Save Me series, a little more slow burn than part one but I swear it'll be worth it
An angsty Hogwarts era Wolfstar fic [WIP/half abandoned] - some angst, heck-tone of NSFW
A Rosekiller 2-parter [complete] - just pure filth
A Hogwarts years Starchaser fic [complete] - also NSFW, ambiguous anatomy language use for Reggie
All of the above are rated E and all of the Marauders Era ones are no Voldy AUs, just to make you aware. I also have a smutty coming-out Dron fic on an old Fanfiction account that I'm considering re-writing on AO3, if this is something you'd like to see then hmu.
Anyways, thanks 😊

It's spirk ficrec time! Fics with less than 400 kudos - part 2
Part 1 here ; part 3 coming soon
These things we do not speak of - Della19 (AOS)
Basically anything written by this author is the best thing you'll read today, but this one, omg, this one. I don't have the right words to describe what it did to my heart. It's a classic falling in love - introspection - pon farr fic. The author has an amazing control of their style and of the characters, and the levels of pining are astronomical. Locked on ao3, so you'll need an account to read it.
The Sea King - killabeez (TOS MIRROR)
When I found this fic I couldn't believe my eyes. It's a mirroresque Gilgamesh au, elegant, epic and bittersweet. The mix of futuristic and mythological elements is really good. Can I say Gilgamesh and Enkidu were the original t'hy'la? There, I said it. Read this if you're looking for something different and you want to be surprised.
Root Systems - Moonfishgirl (AOS)
During a stay on New Vulcan, Jim watches Spock exist inside his own culture, and in the process he discovers something about himself (spoiler: he looooves him!). Adorable fic, rich on Vulcan traditions. Read this if you are into some good Vulcan culture and ancient t'hy'la warrior bond lore.
Five times Bones and Jim forgot they were married - Goldencoalcat (AOS MCSPIRK)
This time I wanted to include some Bones/Kirk/Spock too. This fic is adorable and a good Jim character study. It explores his relationship with his family and Winona in particular, and the reasons why he has issues with being loved. Characters are spot on. Read this if you're in the mood for hurt!Jim being pampered and loved by his two husbands.
one grave too many - leafings (every universe)
Not exactly a mirror universe, but a twisted, fucked-up universe in which the crew loves Jim in a dark and obsessive way and is willing to do anything for his sake, and I mean here Enterprise rhymes with homicide. In the midst of the dark stuff, to no one's surprise, Jim and Spock also find time for their t'hy'la shit. I live for this concept.
A heart even more your own - cicia3 (TOS)
Hey, it's me. I wanted to end with this fic of mine because I really think I wrote this in some sort of mystical fit and I'll never write something this good again lol it's a Persuasion AU with some other good old Austen shenanigans. Excruciating pining + sexual tension + romance.
{reposting because the first time it went under the radar! Please give some love to fic authors and reblog this post ❤️

So -- barring the idea I have for the Doll % Runs -- my Doll fic series is finally complete, as I'd first imagined it to be.
Series Summary:
A series in which, upon leaving the Dollmaker she made a very generous gift to Hyrule: one doll for each of his friends, with the caveat he must be the one holding it for it to activate, and he must be near them. He hopes he never has to use one. Here are all the times he might be forced to explain.
Ratings range from T to E.
Universally Temporary Major Character Death fics, with frequent Graphic Depictions of Violence (although some deaths are less graphic, less violent, or a different kind of violent.)
Fun with some stats, because I wanted to collect them for me:
Brief summary: most fics in the series hover around 1:6 or 1:7 ratio, probably because of the self-selection by means of being Linked Universe fics (which often average closer to a 1:10 ratio) and being self-selecting by means of the MCD/Graphic Violence archive warnings and similar tags (eg. beheading, eaten alive, etc.)
The highest word count is Dog Days, at 4,070 words.
The lowest word count is Perfection, at 1,950 words.
The first fic ("The Dollmaker" was published in October last year, and the most recent was finished twelve hours ago (September 3rd).
More detail about ratios and hits and commentary on why I think that is under the cut. But thank you all who have enjoyed this series!
The Dollmaker is the oldest fic in the series, published Oct 18th, 2023. It's at a 1:8 kudos-to-hits ratio, with over 700 hits.
Dark Despair's Corroding Hand (Time's doll fic) is next, published Apr 8, 2024, and is at a 1:7 kudos-to-hits ratio, with over 300 hits (but it has some interesting tags and an E rating, so can't blame y'all.)
Where is my Harmony (Legend's doll fic) was published Jun 13, and is at a 1:6 ratio, and is a few more hits over 300 than Dark Despair -- but this one's only rated M and much less graphic.
Dog Days (Twilight's doll fic) was published Father's Day (Jun 16th) because I'm an asshole. It has a 1:8 kudos ratio and barely over 300 hits, probably because it's intensely political and not the kind of Twilight-and-Time vibe most of the fandom likes.
It Hungers Still (Wind's doll fic) was published July 1st, and is at a 1:6 ratio because some tags are VERY self-selecting for an audience and oh boy is this one. It's also rated E. Over 200 hits.
Good Is Not Nice (Warriors' doll fic) was also published July 1st, and is at a (slightly higher = 5.6 vs 5.9) 1:6 kudos ratio too because tbh these two fics -- for all the ratings lower -- are equally violent in very different ways.
Hidden Ruin (Sky's doll fic) was published July 11th, and is at a 1:6 ratio too. It has just under 200 hits.
Perfection (Wild's doll fic) was published July 16th, and is at a 1:9 ratio, proving that fandom favouritism is not always in a story's favour LOL. Just over 400 hits, which wildly outpaces the others and yet that has likely pushed down the ratio in itself.
Blue and White and Gone (Four's doll fic) was published Jul 30th, and is at a 1:7 ratio, with just under 200 hits. (Which makes sense given how recent these last are.)
And, published twelve hours ago, Will You Be There (Hyrule's doll fic) is at a 1:5 ratio and 60 hits.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Tagged by: @zealouswerewolfcollector @melestasflight & @niennawept - thanks guys!!!!
Under the cut for length.
1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
43 total. 26 on my reg runawaymun account, and 17 spicy works under spicy_runawaymun.
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?
466,324. Geez.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently just Tolkien. Mostly focusing on early third age and late second age. I used to write for Stargate and Doctor Who but that was like ten years ago.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
To Partake - 842 kudos - Longfic in progress. Elrond/Celebrimbor set in the second age, based loosely off The Rings of Power but it's really gone off the rails now because I didn't like some choices in the show and am trying to fix them haha. Show knowledge is honestly not needed because I stop following it after like the seventh chapter. Mostly an Elrond character study disguised as porn.
And the Stars Shine the Same - 695 kudos - Longfic, complete. a look at early third age Rivendell as told by two kids from proto-Rohan who get adopted into Elrond's family out of harsh and traumatic circumstances.
Beneath a Boundless Sky - 520 kudos - longfic and in progress. Sequel to above. Much wider scope. Dealing with the politics of proto-Rohan and exploring Fram's rise to power, while also keeping a firm focus on Elrond, his relationship with Maglor, and his relationship with his family. Oh yeah, and there's an eldritch monster in the mix (one that isn't Elrond that is!)
A Gown Spun from Starlight - 400 kudos - Thranduil x Reader insert oneshot. Mostly fluff.
Supine - 358 kudos - exploratory kidnap fam multi shot. Mostly Maedhros-centric.
Tinúvion - 289 kudos - Oneshot. Elrond and Sauron meet and hiss at each other and fight over Gil-Galad for 1972 words. Sauron shits his pants. Transitive property Luthien-Elrond.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes! Sometimes often my spoons are low so I am not always as fast as I like. But I endeavor to respond to everybody!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Ohhhhh. Let me think, here. Probably That We Are Still - in which Elrond has a foresight nightmare about Cel's death and they have sex about it, which fixes nothing.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of them have happy endings, because I love happy endings and I've written a good deal of fluff! I think And the Stars Shine the Same has the happiest/most satisfying ending, though. But it's an unfair comparison because it's a longfic. But Never Doubt I Love (Russingon) has a happy/bittersweet ending that's one of my favs. And Equinox (Elrond and Lindir's first meeting) is just pure sugar haha.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not that I recall, honestly. Hopefully it stays that way. I've gotten one or two slightly homophobic comments but I believe the commenter meant well. It was a weird experience.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes! I find exploring how characters are sexual really really fascinating. It's like a microcosm of everything -- of their relationships, of their trauma, of their securities and insecurities. It's so interesting and fun! And especially the journeys that characters can take sexually, learning to open up and explore :) it's very rewarding. All of that is over on my spicy account. It's nearly exclusively Celrond but there's a few others in there.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I've written a few, but none on AO3. My favorite was one I wrote a long time ago where SG-1 (Stargate SG-1) got into a tangled up mission with the Eleventh Doctor and River. I also do a lot of daydreaming and play in my free time imagining my OCs from my original works winding up in middle earth. :)
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I am aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I've had someone offer but if it wound up happening, I wasn't tagged, so I am not sure! But receiving the offer was very nice <3
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not any of the ones posted to AO3, but @the-commonplace-book and I have collaborated on a lot of work together! I'm always open to collaboration. It's so much fun.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
CELROND CELROND CELROND. Though Brimbrond is becoming a close contender now!
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
All of them, really. I try not to doubt I will finish things and just trust my process. I am a naturally slow writer who's a perfectionist and tends to hop from project to project, which is why I focus myself on one or two longfics at most, and I just let the others percolate in outline form until I finish something. I used to not finish things ever and it drove me crazy, so I try my best to stay focused so that things will always get finished in their due time.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Prose. Action and horror. Long character arcs -- especially the unfolding of characters who are recovering from traumatic experiences. I have a pattern haha.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Descriptions of settings and characters (I know what they look like in my head and have to actively remind myself that this image isn't downloaded into someone's brain). Politics and schemes. And IMO I am not good at twisty plots. I tend to write pretty linear progressions with few unexpected surprises.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic.
I like peppering individual words here and there, or perhaps small phrases. Pet names, absolutely. But nothing more than that. IMO adding in language can really help ground a story in the worldbuilding.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Funnily enough, Tolkien. When I was a kid I set out to rewrite the entire books just from Merry and Pippin's perspectives. I did not get very far.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
I think it's honest to god And the Stars Shine the Same. I am obviously fond of To Partake, but Stars just is in its own special category for me. It came to me at the exact right time in my life when I really needed it. It's a very personal story, and it revived my love of writing and reminded me why I liked doing it.
I am rather late to this and I am not sure who has been tagged and who hasn't, so forgive me if I tag someone who has already done this! But no pressure tags for: @emyn-arnens @jaz-the-bard @lordgrimwing @greyjedijaneite @maglor-my-beloved and whomever else would like to participate!

1. How many works do you have on AO3?
7 !! I think i still need to put one up there but i haven't yet cause i wanna edit the ending a tad
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
10,746
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Stranger Thingssssss, and i think its fair to say the Steve Harrington fandom specifically gdnzngxngxgn
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Sweet and Spicy (the one steddie drabble tdnydyndny), My Sunshine, I Can Only Hope Now, Never Again, and Mr. Crayola Henderson
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes absolutely!! its usually a lot of heart emojis and keyboard smashes mixed in with my actual response zgnzgbzgnzng
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
uhhh itd probably have to be Never Again still, i usually like to lean positive with my endings, that whole love-being-alive thing, so whenever i don't its usually because the focus is a different strong emotion that'd conflict with blatant positivity.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
oo okay also hard to decide for the same reason, I'd say the ending that feels happiest is probably from either I Can Only Hope Now (the Claudia prompt) or Now That We're Alive because both go from sad to happy and hopeful for the future. My Sunshine ends on a good note but its less "aw yippee!" and more "AAAAAAAAAAAA". I like my drabbles (under 400 words) to end pretty fluffy so far, and stuff like Mr. Crayola Henderson stays a pretty consistent light and fun so I don't think the happy end hits as hard.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
no, thank god, not yet anyway
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
nopeeee tho Never Again has an E and M version it's not exactly fun enough to be smut i don't think
10. Do you write crossovers?
also nope
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that im aware?? I'd be pretty pissed if it was but also like. is it doing well? is it popular? 👀
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
not that im aware but i give full permission if anyone wants to
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
nope, most ive done is bounce ideas or beta, but I'd be down to try it!
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
i don't know if i have one?? just in general for stranger things i enjoy steve ships a lot. big fan of Vi and Caitlyn from Arcane but im not really in fandom for that show cause what would i change?? im very much a gen fic enjoyer and if i had to list all my fav platonic dynamics... we'd be here a while xgnzngzgn
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?
oh irony my cruelest adversary. a few months ago i was happy and ignorant in my haven of only one active wip. Now there's a small handful, and unless i get possesed with the same emotions i was venting in it, i fear the short Robin-centric letter style thing won't be finished soon. its decent so far but there would be a good bit of editing trying to actually articulate the feeling in a realistic way plus fitting it to Robin's first-person writing style. I don't intend to drop it but lately it just calls to me the least, but that could change
16. What are your writing strengths?
i think its a strange mix of intuition and a technical understanding of writing that works really well for the way i think. Its very broad and basically has no rules, just a understanding of how my favorite stories work, how most writing rules are really trends that tend to work better and then you can dig deeper behind a lot of them to see the *why* behind it. that plus trusting the nagging feeling that something's off makes editing my most productive stage, i can vibe check the area and then start digging dgnxnhxngxng
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
god this changes every time i revisit this draft xumxhmxmxhm this time its probably character introspection. i love writing like a movie and having character action or dialogue or setting or symbols communicate things, but putting down what the characters thinking with similar tact is soooo harddddddd and especially in angst or emotion moments, i want my readers caught in the same thought process as the pov character, i want it to feel so real that even if they never experienced the situation the characters in and even if they know logically the characters wrong, they understand. and that unfortunately involves bypassing their stance as an outside perspective on the matter, which is uhhhhh very very hard xhmznhxhnxhm
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Depends on the intent, i think it works best when the author speaks the language themselves, and especially with stuff like asl it helps clarify the grammatic differences. I think if its a language the pov character isn't supposed to understand then "said something in x language" works better for universal immersion.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Stranger things babeyyyyyy, i actually started writing the Steve Henderson au first, tho the first drafts of chapters are very different from current ones
20. Favorite fic you've written?
MY SUNSHINE!!!!!!! i am so open about my favouritism with that one, its the most contemplative and atmospheric and emotional and its short enough that i was spending time on every word, every line to make sure it felt right and contributed to the picture i wanted. they say its more achievable (compared to long fiction) to make a perfect short story and that's what My Sunshine feels like to me, the perfect little taste of themes I'm enjoying most in writing rn, specifically with the Steve Henderson au (my second favourite fic xgnxngxgn)
i forget how many ppl im supposed to tag so im gonna do 20, no pressure ofc!! @marvel-ous-m @acasualcrossfade @pearynice @imfinereallyy @tinytalkingtina
@klausinamarink @puppy-steve @queenie-ofthe-void @eyesofshinigami @stellarspecter

I actually have a crazy amount of respect for Nabsgan, I think Nabsgan shippers are so powerful and I'm not even into ships that much most of the time.
I think what makes me back down and write an OC and kind of get her in a Nabsgan-adjacent dynamic in my own fanwork (sort of, there are notable differences between classic Nabsgan and Saeruk) is that I kind of always felt like Nabooru was one generation younger (it's the "little girl" comment from the Twinrova + the physical differences --but then again OoT is working with 3 polygons and a bad case of Woman Sexification, and also I suppose that anyone would be a little girl to 400 year old witches), and I guess I didn't feel strong enough to dive into the fucking mess that is the "seven years under mind control" situation if there is a romantic undercurrent involved. I'm all for absolute bubbling toxicity if Ganondorf is to be shipped with anyone (I mean, also an extreme AroAce!Ganon appreciator obvs so he doesn't have to be), but I'm kind of hesitant to dive in that sort of territory given the baggage surrounding Ganondorf and his perception in fandom regarding possessiveness and the such. I have a hard time picturing him showing any interest in someone who is incapable of resisting him or biting back when he fucks up, or even agreeing to putting someone he genuinely respects and loves/appreciates in a way that may approximate love in such a mindless state (possessing their body to do weird magic stuff? yes, that's just convenient. actually breaking their resolve until they are a mindless doll he can shape in any way he likes? I think he'd hate the result and wouldn't want anything to do with it --but that's just me!)
Of course, there's always the "he didn't know/he didn't care anymore/he didn't show up when that happened and that's between the Twinrova and Nabooru, he just did not really bother to get involved", but it's still generally loaded territory!!!!
But again, enormous kudos to people willing to work that complicated line, because the dynamic is explosive and inherently interesting.

Fic By Numbers
Hello! I was tagged by @fallinglikethis
Thanks friend!
Rules: give us the links to your fics with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and fic with the fewest words.
Fic with the most hits:
My Heart Lies With You: Aw, this was the first fic I ever wrote for some sort of challenge or fest and it was so much fun. I learned so much and it's still the one I get the most interaction with. I loved all the research into flowers that I did for this one too.
Fic with 2nd most kudos:
The Art of the Giants: My ode to two of my first loves - Seattle and ballet. I still adore this fic so so much.
Fic with the 3rd most comments:
Okay, my actual fic with the third most comments is My Heart Lies With You, but I kinda was to show off my fourth most cause it's Gem and the Hunter: The Treasure of Babylon and honestly I love that fic so much and just like bragging about it cause I think it's the shit.
Fic with the 4th most bookmarks:
Define Dancing: One of my top two things I've ever written. I was so proud of this little fic... merman Harry and pining Louis and it was such a dream to write.
Fic with the 5th most words:
Well damn, apparently My Heart Lies With You just fits a lot of these cause it also technically has the fifth most words. So... I'll showcase the third most words instead! Cause why not. Spread the love. Third most if my Christmas advent fic from 2020, Ideal: An Advent Fic. Just... if you need some Christmas cheer and OT5 joy... go read it.
Fic with the fewest words:

Hey guys! I wanted to say thank you for 5,000 hits and almost 400 kudoes over on AO3 on The One That Got a Thay: A Guide on Breaking Free of Your Dread Father and Removing Illithid Parasites (woof whata mouthful)
I've decided to post the chapters here as well, but if you want to get up to chapter 7 you can click here!
After the summary and under the cut is all of chapter 1 which is the act one bite scene with Astarion in game!
The story in its entirety is a retelling of bg3 from my Durge's perspective. Where I've taken in-game dialogue and added to it/changed it, kinda of like I've shoved packing peanuts around a fancy, artisan vase. It focuses on an Astarion romance (past Gortash) but with an emphasis on fighting the Dark Urge. There are graphic depictions of violence throughout the story
“Why so much grief for me? No man will hurl me down to Death, against my fate. And fate? No one alive has ever escaped it, neither brave man nor coward, I tell you - it’s born with us the day that we are born.” - Homer, The Iliad
Tavaris could hear the fire crackling behind her. A boar’s fat had dripped within the pit several hours prior, leaving the occasional pop within the logs now. It was a good find and, with Gale’s little freezing trick, would keep the group fed for at least another few days.
She had hesitated to grab the animal’s carcass and take it back to the camp when it was found. The placement of it was too perfect – the kill too clean. As if the beast was meant to be discovered. Beyond that, Astarion had attempted to pull her attention from it in a way that opposed what she decided was his normal behavior. While they had only known each other for a handful of days, his need to draw her focus from the boar struck her as odd. But Wyll and Karlach insisted the meat not go to waste, so to the camp it was carried.
Had Wyll not rolled it over with the heel of his boot after she was convinced, the two thin trails of blood clumping the fur of its neck would have gone unnoticed. And, had Tavaris not been slightly turned to the side, the motion of Astarion’s eyes darting away would have gone the same.
A problem for later she supposed. Everyone in the group was entitled to their own secrets. Astarion was no exception.
Their system for the night’s watch had gone well so far. With two of them being of the elven variety, it meant that watch could be split up between them while the others slept soundly for eight hours. Though, Lae’zel was prone to ‘scanning the perimeter’ before settling down – similar to a disgruntled housecat.
Tavaris was meant to sleep first; with another two hours still to pass before her pale companion would end her meditation - if a forgotten nightmare didn’t usher it to a close. Perhaps she would bring it up the odd behavior when they switched roles.
She had pulled herself away from the group, stating that the sound of the river’s water aided her meditations and that the cold wasn’t too much of a bother. Her back was now to the fire while the others slumbered soundly around its diminishing warmth. It wasn't necessarily a lie; the water’s babbling did help. Though not with any pathetic attempt at rest. It was a distraction.
The gnolls that had ravaged that caravan… the blood of those accompanying it. All of it spilt poorly, with the same care a child would afford to throwing paint during a tantrum. It was disgusting.
Where was the artistry, where was the craft? The suffering of every human slaughtered there was ended far too quickly. The animals lunged for throats first. Were it so that she led the massacre, the suffering would have gone on for hours. The screams would have been savored with an expert’s care. And that dog… with his beautiful white fur bristled up as he protected his dead master. Had she commanded the pack, not a strand of the animal’s fur would have remained white.
Wyll had spoken to him, a skill the group didn’t know he possessed, told the rest that his name was Scratch and he thought his slaughtered master was merely sleeping. The group scent was left, a trail was provided should the orphaned dog decide to follow. Perhaps there was still time to pick up where the gnolls had left off.
She snapped her eyes open at the thought of hurting Scratch, now faced with hands clenched into fist that sat in her lap, the deep purple of Tavaris’ skin was pulled taught around her knuckles as she flexed them. The vile feelings weren’t getting any easier to push away. Her mind never stilled, near relentless in the horrors that would accost it at any given moment. The most mundane of activities, it seemed, were tinged with depravity.
Something as simple as cutting carrots for the stew which accompanied the group’s dinner was twisted within brief flashes of each chop being a finger’s knuckle. The owner of the appendage howling in a pain which she reveled in.
While she peeled the onions, Tavaris could almost imagine the action being the same as prying back the skin of a face. An agonizingly simple motion, a quick pull of the ear and one could achieve a clean removal to the other side.
It was almost enough to drown out the prattling of the group’s wizard, who in the few days since they met, decided he would also be the resident cook. There was a twinge in the back of her mind when she thought that. Not the mutilation of a man meant to be her friend, but in the idea that he could be considered an equal to her in any regard.
The magic that Gale played with wasn’t worth killing. It was meant for show - to impress others that were better suited to die. Where Gale made a presentation of a flick of the wrist and bright colorful displays of sparks, she wielded concentrated death in her hands… it wouldn’t have been that hard to rot the wizard’s flesh. Honestly… she should’ve cut his hand off when she had the chance.
None of that was within a line of thinking Tavaris wanted to be anywhere near. She wanted to listen Gale’s stories of Waterdeep and learn how he casted spells like an art show. She wanted an animal like Scratch to be safely curled by the fire, his fur free from any blood.
It was easier to raise a corpse and have it an answer a string of questions than it was for her to produce a simple flame in the palm of her hand. Even in the fight against the gnolls, she wanted to lunge at them with a dagger instead of sending a bolt of radiant energy towards them from a distance. Why was that? Why was holding the sun within her hand more difficult than a wad of necrosis?
The headache which never fully left her thrummed in time with her heartbeat. A steady rhythm of blood which serenaded her in quiet moments. It was maddening. What had she done before the nautiloid to be cursed with the inability to sit in silence for even a moment?
Tavaris took in a deep breath and closed her eyes once more. If it was that painful to focus within, she would focus out. The fire dying down, Karlach’s snoring, Shadowheart – or perhaps Wyll tossing in their bedroll, the river flowing away from them, frogs croaking and crickets chirping and the sound of… leaves crunching.
Crunching leaves that were all but muffled within the other sounds of the night. Had she not been actively listening; the footfalls would have gone unnoticed.
The events that happen next came in quick succession, as if another being had taken control of her completely. The rustling got ever-so louder; the hairs in the back of her neck stood on end - a signal to a predator that another was attempting to make her prey. Tavaris spun around with her hands clutched into fists with her pinky and pointer fingers extended on both so that a small ball of necrotic energy crackled between the them.
“Shit.” Astarion was less than a foot from her, eyes wide – almost manic.
“That’s all you have to say?” Tavaris clenched her fist, the green energy growing brighter to the point it numbed the sides of her fingers and top of her knuckles. She stood to her full height in one motion, shoulders square as she stalked towards him until Astarion was backed against a pine tree. He was a full head taller than her but, in the moment, seemed so, so small.
“No no – it’s not what it looks like, I- I swear!” He pleaded, waving his hands in the space between them, “I wasn’t going to hurt you! I just needed,” He trailed off, eyes flicked to their sleeping companions - the objectively easier targets. A beat past before he finished the explanation, “…blood.”
Tavaris hesitated then, fingers twitching, the necrosis she held flickered but did not dissipate. The light from her spell cast the space around them in a pale green glow, melding with the orange of the dying fire a hundred feet away. Both glinted off of pointed teeth. Astarion’s eyes reflecting the light in the same way a cat’s would. Just above the ruffle of the collar secured around his throat was a single puncture. It didn’t take much imagination to picture the second underneath the fabric.
How had she been so stupid?
“How the hells did I not see this.” The question came out as a statement as rage bubbled in the pit of her stomach. It rose through her throat, curling her mouth into a snarl. Tavaris kept her voice low, as much out of anger as a need not to wake the others. “How could I be so blind? Look at you.” She hitched her head towards the fire, “You killed that boar, didn’t you?”
“Tav- Tavaris,” He ignored the question, “It’s not what you think! I’m not some monster!”
Her hands tightened, the sickly green intensifying, making it clear that wasn’t the answer she wanted. Astarion thought she was the easiest target… The anger that realization sparked was indescribable.
“A-animals! I feed on animals,” The hand waving grew more frantic, it would’ve been cute in any other circumstance, “Boars, deer, kobolds – whatever I can get.”
She tiled her head to the side slowly, “Do I look like a kobold to you?” Blood pounded in her ears, threatening to drown everything else out. How dare he think of comparing her to an animal. “Do you imagine me something so frail and pathetic as a deer?”
“Of course not my friend!” His breathing grew more frantic and his looked away from her, focusing on the ground between them, “I just- I’m just too slow right now…” Astarion’s hands fell to his sides as he spoke as if he were giving up, or putting on a show of being meek, “If I had a little blood, I could think clearer. Fight better. Please.” He lowered his head and, despite being taller than her, looked up at Tavaris from his lashes.
An ache spread through her skull, starting beneath her eye socket and writhing through her brain. It was the tadpole trying to reach out to its brethren amongst her anger. Had Tavaris had a moment longer to collect herself and push down the dark urge to twist Astarion’s beautiful flesh until he rotted beneath her hands – she would’ve swatted it away. She was too consumed with not hurting her friend, despite the fact he had just been attempting to attack her, to stop the tadpole from prying into him on its own initiative.
Immediately Tavaris felt hollow, cold – deathly cold. She- he… they were curled on the floor. The hardness of the marble slabs digging into their knees. How long had they been commanded to knell there? Hours? Days?
In their hands writhed a rat. It shrieked and squealed in its attempt to escape their grasp. The hold was too firm to allow the luxury of escape. Long nails punctured the animal’s flesh where it fought, causing yellow puss to leak from it. They could feel the maggots squirming underneath the scabbed, patchy fur.
A sob escaped them as they bit down. The rancid blood of the rodent flowed through them, sustaining them.
Tavaris pulled away, breaking out of whatever bloodthirst tried to consume her. Without thinking, she shifted the fists of her hands so that they were cuffing the empty space between them in two crescents. The necrotic energy morphed into a lilac sphere before she deftly flicked it towards the campfire.
A bubble formed over the group there, immediately silencing the crackling of the fire and any other sound within. Though she had no memory of casting this spell before, Tavaris knew that it worked both ways, that those entrapped within the sphere of silence could hear nothing outside of it.
She could kill him if she wanted to and no one would know.
The horrid suggestion was pushed away as soon as it came, her anger now focusing on the one who had hurt Astarion before they met. “You were forced too.” Tavaris spoke slowly, any fury now gone, replaced with a need to understand. “That’s why you didn’t say anything before.”
“At best, I thought for sure you’d say no.” He shrugged; eyes glossed over as he tried to push down the trauma she inadvertently forced him to relive. Astarion had his attention on the dome of magic, trying to discern its nature she supposed. His focus returned to her when he spoke next, “More likely, you’d ram a stake through my ribs. I needed you to trust me first Tavaris.” He held her stare, blood red irises not leaving the grey of her own, “You can trust me.”
Tavaris sighed, the tension in her shoulder blades leaving her. Nestled within the memory the tadpole revealed was a deep dread that rivalled the disgust from the experience. He was afraid. She didn’t want to be someone who found joy that kind of fear anymore. “I do trust you Astarion.”
His eyes widened before relief flooded through his expression, “Thank you.” His next words came out slowly – chosen carefully, “Could you… trust me a little further? I only need a taste, I swear."
He had said he needed blood to fight better, but that wasn’t completely true. It was written in the way his posture slumped, how his eye contact was far too forced. He was trying to prove something. To whom she wasn’t sure.
Her whole body felt wrong – corrupted somehow. If Astarion drank it and had no ill effect, maybe the poison within her was solely residing in her mind. There was a chance she could actually fight the dark urges if she knew for certain it was only confined to her thoughts.
“Fine.” Tavaris sighed, rolling up the sleeve of her shirt past her elbow, over old scars she couldn’t remember the causes of, “No more than you need.”
“Really? I – of course.” He composed himself with a smile, “Not one drop more.” Astarion nodded as he spoke like he was trying to convince himself of that statement while still grinning pleasantly. The way the corners of his eyes would crinkle when he genuinely laughed or smiled were notedly absent.
“As long as I can stay focused the others won’t notice.” She gestured to the silence spell, “Do keep that in mind.” Tavaris turned her back from him, returning to the spot she sat in earlier before padding the dirt in front of her, willing the adrenaline that racked her to subside. “We might as well sit down.”
A nod was all he gave her as he did what was asked. The pupils of Astarion’s eyes were narrower than she had seen them before, to an almost unsettling degree.
“If you don’t pull away when I ask you to,” She held her arm out in the space between them, “I’m going to electrocute you. Do you understand that?”
“Oh? Another trick I didn’t know you had,” He smile turned coy as his fingers circled around the small of her wrist and pulled it closer to him, forcing her to lean in somewhat. There was no warmth in the touch, it felt like she had just plunged it into the river beside them, “My dear, you are just full of surprises.”
Tavaris wanted to throw a snarky remark back towards him but the time was not afforded to her. Her wrist was lifted up towards him as he lowered his mouth to meet it. With a shuddering breath, Astarion fluttered his eyes closed. Almost as an afterthought, he placed a single kiss over the veins there before his gripped tightened and he bit down.
A small “Oh.” was all that left her.
The rush was indescribable. Tavaris had bleed before, many times that she could not remember. But this? With her blood actively being taken – syphoned…
Instinctually she clutched her fist which sent more blood gushing out of her and into his mouth. It spilled at the corners of his lips, trailing down his chin and blotting the white of his shirt where it met his skin. Astarion paid the stain no mind as if he was miles away, his expression almost euphoric.
The breaths he would take through his nose bordered on panting. In the beginning the air that left him was cold, but quickly morphed into a warmth that she understood came from her.
The corners of Tavaris’ eyes blurred as a pit in the bottom of her stomach formed, threatening to drag her into the soil below them. Her head was begging her to let it lull to the side. The rushing of her blood that never left her ears subsided and for the briefest of moments she felt the thing which she desired most - quiet.
Beautiful wonderful quiet. The chanting of blood was subsiding as more of it was taken from her. In that quiet, a fear morphed into truth. It was her blood that was the problem. She didn’t know why or how, but the dark urge rested in her very being – not her mind. She sat with that truth as more was taken from her. If Tavaris’ mind was separate from her body… perhaps that would be enough to fight the need for murder.
“Enough,” She breathed, “S-star, that’s enough.”
“Mhm?” He hummed, not quiet hearing her. There was the briefest hesitation before he retracted his fangs from her wrist with a sickly pop. A string of pink saliva trailed from his mouth down to her skin before separating. “Of course,” He held her wrist still, eyes not leaving the two holes formed in her skin and the impressions of the other teeth around them as the wounds clotted. “That ah... that was amazing.” An airy laugh left him as his thumb slowly trailed down and circled the punctures, smearing the blood there, “My mind is finally clear. I feel strong. I feel…”
“Happy?” She supplied.
“Happy.” The smile grew, crinkling his eyes. For the first time she saw a tinge of pink over his cheeks and the tips of his ears - her blood within him. “I’m happy.” He said.
A quiet moment stretched between the two of them, just the water, the distant frogs, and his panting breaking it. The adrenaline began to subside, giving way to a dull ache over her arm as she shuddered in a breath. Tavaris was expecting the thrumming to come back once his lips left her. The voice in the back of her head telling her to lunge towards him and slit his throat was now reduced to a quiet murmur.
“I didn’t do it so you could fight better.”
“What?” He sounded shocked, as if that was the last thing he was expecting her to say.
“You said you needed blood to fight better. That is not why I offered you my hand.” She looked up to him then, staring at the way her blood was already beginning to crust over where it spilled down his jugular, how it bloomed in the fabric of his shirt. There didn’t seem to be any ill side effects from it in him, quite the opposite really. It didn’t burn his skin or rot his clothing. It was just blood once it wasn’t inside her.
“Are you… alright?” Astarion made a motion as if he were going to lift his hand towards her before, stopping almost if he thought better of it.
“I’m fine.” Tavaris swallowed, “I just feel a little woozy.”
“It’ll pass.” He leaned backwards, using the palms of his hands for support as he looked up towards the stars, “Just be glad I’m not a true vampire. A bite from them and you might wake up as a spawn, like my good self. All of a vampire’s hunger, but few of their powers.” Sadness twinged in his voice as he spoke. "I would hate for you to be a spawn of any kind darling."
Tavaris flicked her unbitten wrist, lifting the blood from the fibers of his shirt and skin, evaporating it in the space between them with a simple bit of prestidigitation. Though it did nothing for the blood that stained his teeth and gums. She let the remainder of the red on her stay for a reason she couldn't quite place.
“Is that how you can stay in the sun?” She asked before he could comment on the spell, “Because you’re not a ‘true’ vampire?”
“Ohh no,” Astarion let out a sad laugh, “I should be cinders in the light. I hadn’t seen the sun for two hundred years three mornings ago.”
“And the first thing you did was try to attack me?” She tilted her head to the side, an objectively bad move as what remained of her blood rushed to her forehead.
“No, the first thing I did was try to scurry to a shadow. Then I attempted to…strike up a conversation with you.” His smiled like it was a playful memory, “Someone - or something - wants me alive.”
She pressed her hand to her temple, “The rules have changed for you then?”
“I suppose that goes for you as well.” He gestured to Tavaris, “Though it’s not as severe with drow, your kind isn’t meant for the sun either you know. But, standing in the sun…” Astarion took his eyes from the night sky and looked to The Chionthar, “Wading through a river, wandering into homes without an invitation - they’re all perfectly mundane activities now.”
Tavaris rolled her sleeve back down, the drying blood on her skin flaking as she did so, “Do you think it’s the parasite’s doing?”
He shrugged, “That’s my theory, but who knows?” Physically he was present in the conversation but his eyes, a more vibrant red now, were trailing over every nook and cranny of the forest beyond the river. What she had given wasn’t enough for the hunger inside him.
“If I can help in anyway - within reason, just ask. We’re in this together.” The silence spell was beginning to waver, the energy signaling its dissipation crackling at the base of her skull.
“Oh Tavy, you’re such a sweetheart.” He still wasn’t looking at her.
“We’re literally in this together, my blood is inside of you.” That brought his focus back to her. “How are we going to go about feeding you in the future? I highly doubt Shadowheart will be as understanding with this little revelation. Especially if she, or any of the others, find out the same way I have.”
“They would turn up with torches and pitchforks no doubt.” He sighed, “Come first light, we’ll all have a little chat about it.” Astarion locked eyes with her for a moment before going back to the tree line. “No innocence,” He said quietly after a moment, more to himself than to her, “You have my word Tavaris.”
It was her turn to sigh, “I see no harm in the ones that we’re going to kill anyway, they’ll be just as dead a few minutes later.”
“Exactly! After all, you know what I am now.” He smiled, once again genuine, “I’ll fight with all my weapons – teeth included.”
Astorian seemed the most relaxed since they had first met, as if he didn’t have a care in the world. This could have gone so very differently had she listened to the desire to kill him. She’d be hiding his corpse right now, but instead, he sat beside her, leaning back leisurely and looking up the way the moon reflected over the water in awe. Now that she understood that he was by all accounts dead, the act of giving him her blood made him feel… alive and she had done that. For the first time perhaps ever, her blood had been used to help someone.
“You might as well bring whatever you kill back to camp too." She was partially joking and hoped the mirth in her tone translated that, "It saves a step in the cooking process."
“Ha, of course. Now,” He stood as if a dancer entering a stage with all the grace that she was currently unable to muster, “If you’ll excuse me, you’re invigorating, but I need something more… filling.” Astarion took a few steps towards the tree line before looking back to Tavaris over his shoulder, “This is a gift you know.” He said simply, “I won’t forget it.”

Narnia Fic Recs - Post LWW
This is part of a short fic rec series to spread some love for Narnia authors, they aren’t in any sort of order other than the really long ones are on the bottom.
A lot of these stories are on ff.net which I know is a pain of a site to use, however, I sorted through a lot of Narnia fics to find these and I think they deserve some love. I did check if anything was on ao3 and put that link instead if I could find it. Please give these authors some love, kudos, favorites, comments, etc. They’re all great and it’s always fun to find older fics!
If y’all have any fic recs you can send them my way, or if you know if any of these authors are on tumblr let me know. I’ll be releasing more rec lists sorted roughly by era so look out for those under #lillys fic recs
This list is more miscellaneous, one Prince Caspian fic, a few around VotDT, and a couple about Susan. There are also general author recs at the end with authors that have a decent amount of fics to look through.
Passing Down the Crown by Elecktrum
Rated Gen, 4.5k words
Fic about how hard it is for the Pevensies (and Peter specifically) to help make Caspian the king of Narnia and only coming back for a short time.
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by Elecktrum
Rated gen, 8k words
Fun fic with world building starting in VotDT but Edmund and Lucy describing the Golden Age. Dawn Treader was a real dragon and it’s an interesting expansion of star mythology in Narnia, it’s written to feel more like a myth retelling.
Knight of Narnia by ElouiseBates
Rated K, 5k words
A short fic of Edmund knighting Eustace during Votdt, then a bit of his further adventures. Really great at showing his mistakes but also his growth.
The Difference by Ariyah
Rated K, 700 words
Eustace’s mom, Alberta, reflecting on her son and how he’s changed.
Of Knights and Butter Knives by Quecksilver_Eyes
Rated Gen, 400 words
Basically a cute fic of Eustace getting knighted by Peter when they’re all back in England.
The Queen’s Return by HonorH
Rated gen, 4.5k words
A Problem of Susan fic that has some light shipping with an OC near the end and is generally positive rather than overly angsty while still dealing with the trauma.
Never a Friend by Elecktrum
2k words
A conversation between Peter and Tirian in Aslan’s Country about Susan, (or the Problem of Susan) which I love because it shows that Susan doesn’t have anything to apologize for and her siblings definitely know her better than distant friends of friends.
Authors
Ao3
Elecktrum
https://archiveofourown.org/users/elecktrum/
I can’t lie or even try to hide it, Elecktrum is one of my favorite authors in general, and definitely one of the best Narnia authors I’ve ever found. I was so surprised that their work doesn’t have more love on Ao3, though that’s possibly because I think it might have been backdated so people just haven’t seen it. Overall the stories are non shipping fics, though there are some background ships that can be cute. Their stories and series are already on the list above, and 99% of their stories are connected to the same world, but there are very few that CAN’T be read as stand alone’s, so go read whichever ones strike your fancy.
@quecksilvereyes
https://archiveofourown.org/users/Quecksilver_Eyes/
They’re on Ao3 and Tumblr and they have a bunch of drabbles and ficlets on a bunch of the Narnia ‘eras. Most of the fics have the Pevensies (but not all) and there are some shipping fics if that’s what you’re looking for.
Fanfic.net
Adalet - https://m.fanfiction.net/u/94096/
Tons of really good fics, generally one shots but some good long ones too.
Lirenel - https://www.fanfiction.net/u/241274/Lirenel
She has some long series that are interesting, and just a lot to read from if you’re looking to binge Narnia.
These two don’t have current stories but it’s good to find older ones and I think all the long series are done.

Fic Stats Tag Game
(This shall get buried under all the Episode 1071 posts, which is fair and fitting).
Was tagged by @purplehairedwonder
Rules:
Give us the links to your fics with the most hits, most kudos, most comments, most bookmarks, most words, and least words.
Okay, will do, but I need to warn, my most hits, etc., are dark fics—one is very dark, and your faves are dark—so be warned before you click if you do. 18+ only.
Most hits: Interdisciplinary with 10,205 hits. Extreme Law whump with very dark, usually not dark, OP characters. But, my first fic to hit 10K (and the only one off-anon. I should stop deleting my fits in after-uploading panics, though :D). (Rated E)
Most kudos: One shot: Dark like the North Blue Sea (aka The Sea-Hill you Die On) . Heart Pirates wind up Usopp in the same way that Law does (whilst on the way to Wano). Wow, that's surpassed my multi-fic, Repossession, which was the most popular for a long while (also one I deleted at one stage though, and uploaded backdated. Ahh).
Anyway, 218 kudos to 1,570 hits. Gen-rated Madness. Not complaining!
Most Comment threads: Another dark multi-chaptered work. I had one very dedicated reader on this fic. Much thanks to her. Not many other people actually commented, but A few drops of holy cuckold with 50 comment threads. There are 48 chapters, so approx a comment per chapter, and I know that's a blessing! I'm very grateful. (G-Rated)
Most bookmarks: Repossession, another dark Law whump fic, 80 bookmarks (more than half aren't public, I think). (E-raterd)
Most words: Shamefully (cos so often a long word count's an indication of not being able find the right finishing spot for a fic, and a sign of not enough editing, but in fanfiction about a series, maybe it's inevitable, but anyway!) A few drops of holy cuckold at 150,972 words. (E-rated)
Fewest words: Well, I have a number of pure drabbles, but they're part of drabble collections, so I guess the work is not stand alone, necessarily (if we're looking at the AO3 stats page), so let's go with protect (338 words), a ficlet about Rebecca written for the Women Wanted Zine (OP Women) as part of some zine challenges. There was maybe a 400 word count challenge on that.
tagging @ayusaurus , @gendervapor14 , @devircy if you feel like doing it, and I just want to remind everyone that stats, etc. are totally relative and dependent upon so many elements. Also, anyone else who'd like to try! I'm gonna make one for one shots, cos even though I have one one shot in the list, multi-chaps will usually come out ahead in this kind of thing.

AO3 tag game \o/ !!!
thank youuu for tagging me @ragecndybars !!! best of luck with your wips ^_^ !!!!!!!!! without further ado ...
How many works do you have on AO3? 103 !! \o/ !!! i hit the 100 mark just at the end of december .. and then didn't post all january lol ^_^
What's your total AO3 word count? only 97,635 ! pretty unsurprising, everything i write tends to be a oneshot, and very short oneshots at that ! not even an average of 1000 words per fic though ehehe ; ; !
How many fandoms have you written for, and what are they? 33 ! ofc this is only ao3's number, some of these count for the same fic being tagged with multiple series tags, but (ignoring my .. eugh ... 6 2020 original work posts i refuse to look at ...) my top fandoms are: persona 3 [40] , persona 5 [15] , trauma center [8] , persona 4 [6] , pokemon [5] ! wow ... i'm honestly surprised, but i feel like i shouldn't be ^_^;;
Top five fics by kudos: all of these are from over three years ago, so i don't remember them very well ^_^;; and i'm kind of scared to reread them now, but here goes: we won't slip through your fingers - 763 kudos ! a cute p5 found family fic with akira, sojiro and futaba ^_^ i still see this pop up in my daily kudos email every so often ! it seems like the type of thing i like reading myself for p5, so i'm not surprised :p Indistinct and Incomprehensible - 515 kudos ! another p5 sakura family fic (sensing a theme?) but this time interrogation room flavoured ! i've always loved the interrogation room hook, probably because i'm such a huge fan of whump fic ^_^;; i'll never forget when a friend excitedly messaged me saying she was about to send me a great interrogation room fic .. only to realise it was mine :p The Days When My Father's Here - 402 kudos ! another- I PROMISE I DON'T ONLY WRITE P5 SAKURA FAMILY FIC LOL ...! cute and short, a shortcake biscuit of a read imo :3c (he left the town long before) yet his house is still standing in the same place - 400 kudos ! akira talking tatsujun ... i've always liked this premise, even as i tend to lean into the angstier side of p2 nowadays ^_^ but no matter what, i have always been a long title connoisseur ... i hope it's toned down in recent years ehehe ! Unconventional Naming Ceremony - 275 kudos ! yeah ... the truth come out ... i used to be a huge fan of the sonic movie >_< i was literally on the phone to my friend the other day getting bullied about how much i used to like it lol !!!!!!! they didn't even know me then ... c'mon ... i hope this is a cute fic. i'm too scared to touch it. lol.
Do you respond to comments? i try to as much as i can !!! sometimes i forget, and sometimes i just don't have anything i might want to say other than thank you for commenting, but all of them mean so much to me ^_^ rereading comments is probably about 40% of my fuel ehehe
What's the fic with the angstiest ending you've ever written? wow ...! that's difficult ! even though i write lots of angsty fic, i am a freak who can find joy in anything. the jolliest guy you could say. a mochizuki fan, possibly. in recent memory, i'd say disappearance, an alien heart beat ... even shorter than usual, but miserable the whole way through . ryoji and minato sit in a room and don't say anything. yaaaay ! (fun fact! it is partially based on a feeling i used to get when me and my ex used to sit in my room with the lights off but the tv on standby, because the overhead light was too harsh. i love watching people move under light; i love the sound of electronics that have been on for too long)
Do you write crossovers? not really ?! they're fun for crackfics, but i don't really honestly explore them that often. maybe i should !
Have you ever gotten hate on a fic? i .... don't think so ! i used to get hate anons when i was younger + stupider because i was quite literally asking for it -_-;; but rage -> if you see this, that zelda comment screenie you posted made me laugh for literally ten minutes [link]
Do you write smut? i would really like to !!!!!!! but i'm so shy >_< !!! but also i worry .. i did once, for OCs of mine, and sent it to a friend ... who immediately sent back laughing that it was 98% inner monologue, 2% actual smut .. which tracks for me lol !
Have you ever had a fic stolen? i sure hope not !
Have you ever had a fic translated? YES !!!!!!! it's always been my dream ^_^ !!! and just this year i had and then he looked right through me, as if i wasn't there translated into russian by a very kind regular commenter !!! if you see this: thank you so much, it means the world to me !!! apparently it was for a friend of theirs, who is a new fan of p3 due to the widespread translations of reload, and they really liked it ^_^ it makes me so happy to think that reload can really extend p3's reach and even more people can get a chance to experience it ...
What’s your all-time favorite ship? ryomina ofc ^_^;; ! kind of topical, but i recently scored the old kotobukiya minato figure that came with the episode "luck" drama cd ! i'll never stop talking about it, but reading episode luck's translations on the gekkouhigh livejournal is what made me love ryomina, and cemented my love of p3 as a whole ... such sweet memories ehehe
What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will? mostly things that were born of a specific emotion i was feeling when i drafted it, and don't really want to feel again if i can help it, or at least on purpose. it makes me pretty sad that i feel some of my most impactful work has come out of me feeling ... well, pretty sad ! so i just work harder every day to write just as well, if not better, than things i've written in that state :]
What are your writing strengths? aaa ... i think i'm good at laying running metaphors in a fic (which i love hearing when @p3ta says them back to me ^_^ !!!!!!!!!!!!) if that makes sense ?!?! probably because i love edgar wright movies .. callback fan writes callbacks eternally like the ouroboros lol :p i'm sisyphean !
What are your writing weaknesses? i need to buckle down and write longer fics goddamn it !!!!!!!!!! my latest work, the best beast ever is a boy you know, is also my longest work to date, at a measly 3,657 words. but i love it so much, and it's so amazing what i can do with just 2000 words more than i'm used to ! hopefully i can keep it up ^_^
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fics? it's interesting, and really enjoyable when done well (looking at some bebe writers tbh !!!!!) ... buuut, of course, it can also fall flat ! kind of related, but the closest i've ever gotten to something like this is using japanese honorifics . i know it's a little divisive, but i like it a lot when used responsibly (as i try to) ^_^;; ! overuse of stuff like -sama totally makes me feel like i'm about to tab into ouran high school host club part 1 of 13 on youtube though lol
What was the first fandom you ever wrote for? gravity falls, on a long abandoned ff.net account ! you know i was one of those guys writing it directly into the post box :]
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written so far? it's cheating, but i have two and an honourable mention. i am so happy to have returned to writing persona 3 fic ... it is one of my favourite things ^_^ first of all: alone but sane . alone but sane could be considered my magnum opus so to speak lol ... it is just one of those ideas that is so perfect. i don't know ... i am in many ways my own biggest fan. i do ofc owe my inspiration for it to @mymp3, the best messiah recipe 2008 attendee ^_^ i am so glad we're friends now :p second of all: when you're hollowed out and empty !!!! i hope to write many more fuuka and ryoji fics this year . she is so kind and so reaching in her kindness ... i aim to be more like her ..! fuuka asks, "i wonder what ryoji's doing... do you think he's still crying, like before?" and i write and write and write at last .. my honourable mention! my only zombieland saga fic, and you don't seem to understand (a shame, you seemed an honest man) .. i don't have anything to say here .. zls is a tragedy . to me
again, thanks for tagging me \o/ !!! this is ofc open to anyone who might want to play !!!! i hope you're all having a nice day :]c

20 Questions for Fic Writers...
Tagged by @thychesters this was super fun to do winding down after work. Thank you!
How many works do you have on Ao3?
83. But good luck finding all of them
2. What's your total Ao3 word count?
1,102,340 posted over my entire time on AO3
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Historically and primarily, Star Wars, Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, and Rune Factory. but recently I've been posting a Hobbit story.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
This is about to be the most boring list because in order it's:
[Redacted Fic] (posted under a separate account,by an absolutely huge margin of over 1500 kudos)
Aggressive Negotiations (SW fic with adorable baby Skywalker Twins, at just under 400 kudos)
Wells of Silence (SW fic retelling late Clone Wars and ROTS with a female Anakin Skywalker)
[Redacted Fic] (the one fic I wrote for a certain fandom that was getting super huge, but I was a weenie and posted anonymously)
and [Redacted Fic] (another anonymous story)
If we want to include the top 5 non-redacted, then well tack these ones onto the list:
Among Scuttled Ships and Scrap (SW/TBB fic in which Omega meets Cal Kestis on Bracca)
Better Left Unsaid (A SW Obi-Wam/Satine fic about duty and sacrifice)
Weekend Guests (A jarring reminder that I wrote, and did not finish a Voltron fic lmao)
5. Do you respond to comments?
I do! I love getting comments and getting to potentially engage in conversations with my readers and fandom friends. So I try to respond to every comment I get.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I mean, it's the one I always bring up when people ask what the angstiest fic in my kinda expansive angst repertoire is, but it's Hello Darkness. You don't get much angstier than major characters deaths, thousands of other deaths, and infanticide so... (It's an Order 66 fic, what can even be expected with that right?)
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oh gosh, I don't know. I do have quite a bit of fluff and I think they all have very happy endings full of all the warm fuzzies. The most recent one might be Operation: Save the Magic. It's your quintessential Christmas Special in a fic, and naturally it has the picture perfect happy ending.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Statistically, I'm sure there are people out there who do hate my fics, for whatever reason. But none of it has made it to me, and I'm perfectly content with that.
9. Do you write smut?
I have made one (1) foray into smut writing, and I think I overcompensated with angst, which says everything about me you need to know lmao. Smut's not really on my radar as a reader or a writer, but when it fits a situation, it fits, ya know?
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you have written?
Not really. A handful of times when I was goofing around with friends we might have done a silly crossover or two. But beyond doing in-universe crossovers of different installments of the same universe, I don't really write them.
I'm more of an AU person. I'd rather take characters from Media A and drop them into the universe of Media B without any characters from Media B making an appearance. Someone might count that as a crossover, but I think they're more of an AU.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I've done a couple collaborations for fandom events, not sure of those really count, as I was the one doing most of the writing. And there was one cracky-story I did with a friend back in high school, but beyond that, no I haven't.
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
I don't really have favorite ships. I tend to think of myself as a fluid shipper, meaning I'll write or read just about anything if the mood strikes, so I don't really glom onto favorites for the long term. With ship things it's less about the actual characters and more about the way they're interacting with each other.
15. What is a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a lot of long-abandoned and unfinished WIPs sitting both on my hard drive and on AO3. Throw a stick and you'll probably hit one of them. Probably anything started pre-2018 and not updated since then is likely never going to be finished.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I do a good job capturing emotions and working with the complexities of human relationships (and just being human). And I think I do quite well with my descriptive scenes too.
17. What are you writing weaknesses?
Action scenes are the bane of my existence, and I think just actions in general. I tend to over-describe what everyone is doing and every little move they make in scenes that don't need that level of description.
Also sticking to a consistent writing schedule and keeping a muse wrangled long enough to finish a story.
18. Thoughts of writing dialogue in another language in fics?
I'd like to have some familiarity with the language before I would do that, because I don't want to force people who speak that language to read my google-translate results. So I don't do it as much with real languages.
Fictional languages though, I'll be much more liberal with the rate in which I toss in those words. might not be whole sentences, particularly if there aren't key phrases for me to use, but I'll use individual words freely.
19. First Fandom you wrote for?
If we're talking first fandom I ever wrote a fanfic for, that would be Jak and Daxter.
If we're talking first fandom I ever did any creative writing for, it would be Warrior Cats RPs
20. Favorite fic you have written?
Asking me to pick a favorite is unfair, because there's genuinely something I like about every story I've written. I've my primary audience and I'm writing the stories I want to read. So I can't say I have a favorite favorite. But the one I've been most recently and fervently working on, so it's at the forefront is How Far Ahead The Road Has Gone my Hobbit fic.
Okay, now it's late and I need to be getting to bed bc I've gotta work tonight. So I know I'm gonna miss people if I try and tag folks. So this is the blanket statement of If you wanna play along, feel free to say I tagged you.

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
from this year, this is sooo hard. i am forever in love with my summer theater au which i'm still working on but also i really liked how "mouths to be kissed before mouths to be fed" turned out.
10. What work was the quickest to write?
i have a bunch of fics under 400 words and those were all very quick to write.
12. How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year?
i have two multichapter fics (one caos, one tww) on my main account which i'll be working on next year, but I also want to write a multichapter bellamione fic and finish that one ginny/narcissa queen/knight fic that i started and never finished.
21. How many kudos in total did you get this year?
on my main account 1,635 and on my second account 1,884 which is surprising since the second one has way less fics- i suppose the fics are just for more popular fandoms.
