I’ve always been inspired by flora and fauna and found the gesture of sending and receiving flowers among the most charming of traditions. I recently found myself researching all I could on the crossover area between technology and ecology – specifically flowers.Wikipedia defines ‘flower robot’ as “a simple electromechanical device with the appearance of a common flower.”  There are many motives that have inspired creators to experiment in this area from artificial flowers to promote pollination for bees to integrating semi conductive polymers inside the stem to generate electricity from photosynthetic processes and other designs and sculptures that have incorporated technology purely for aesthetic appeal.One of the earliest projects I found pertaining to this subject was an art/installation of a robotic flower garden by the Personal Robots Group at MIT’s Media Lab. This was developed in 2003 and coined the term Cyberflora. The flowers defined in this project all had different properties; Chromafant Blossom – capacitive sensing which will trigger swaying and glowing. Cobra Orchid and Dragon Iris – Movements synced to warmth. Violet Oscillies – Senses a hand passing over the top as the petals move.

Conducting experiments using electronic components and technical elements may raise ethical issues as plants are living things, extending into principles of biocentrism and plant rights. There are two types of approaches to cyber plants – adaptation of the pre-existing living flower or a digital product that mimics the properties of the living plant. The aforementioned artificial flowers to promote pollination take the second approach; known as the Synthetic Pollinizer it sits alongside real plants to try and lure bees in to gather man-made pollen from the robotic flower which is a safer alternative to pesticide infected plants. An example of the first approach is the experiment researchers at Linkoping University carried out creating a simple transistor circuit inside a rose. 

I think this is a very interesting sector to watch. The evolution of plants and flowers, not to mention the vast amount of species and variants means that we have a lot to learn and a long way to go.  Every day we are exploring new agricultural processes and expanding upon our knowledge, being able to communicate and collaborate on findings via the internet and means of modern communication will make a massive difference to the future of plants.

Joker's cognition sticky like new year's omochi pounded and turned.

"You were nervous when CPO walked through town." Law speaks into her cheek, holds her. There'd been a report on yet another reverie and Rob Lucci appeared and disappeared from the cameras — silent bodyguards to dragons who'd have their pirate heads for witnessing government crimes.

"You knew who they were," Robin says. Like yesterday, Dressrosa creeps in — wind rattling the fly screen against its frame. Law tilts his head in agreement. No point in not being informed. Serious stuff always hidden like the disease that didn't get to wipe out his town. She loves him for it. "Feel safe now?" he asks. She moves closer. Pushing into his chest. Both barefoot in the house, she's lost a few centimetres. They'll dance, something Viola taught her — Señor Pink had taught him — some flamenco, rhumba, tango Latin passion, that Luffy ruins with too much enthusiasm when he tries. And lack of height. That Sanji ruins with too much attention, when he tries. And lack of height. "Yeah, but not because of you," she says. Maybe it was the rain. "The disguise didn't work?" He hadn't been feeling too confident in Dressrosa either, but there were always options.

She laughs. Her aviator glasses and pith-helmet-hat (cloth, mind you), his seventies porn star 'tash and shades, and running around with his chest so wide open that anyone who knew anything — aka Doflamingo and his cronies — could pinpoint who he was and where. Then again, he'd set up the rendezvous. They'd tried. One disguise was as good as the next in the world of paper doll options. She runs a finger on the rough of his sideburn, and he tips his head. "Scary mofos. Masks like death-wishes," he says.

CPO — show girls hiding behind the ruffled flipped skirts of a cancan. "The only thing they wish death on is others." "Party poopers." She takes his hand and wishes death upon herself with battle-worn fingers, though he can always heal himself.

Anyone who's read my work knows that I write LawBin, SmoLaw, LawZo, MarLaw, AceLaw, KidLaw (order doesn't matter for any of those) and I love LawSan, but I have a really soft spot for LawBin (platonic or romantic, but this is a romantic poll). Story above from here (my writing. T-rated one shot).

Their interactions on punk hazard are just hhhhnnnggghhhh. First they fight against each other and then they have to team up! The sexual tension is through the roof 👀 and they fight so well together too 👀 also law LITERALLY stole smoker's heart?? Sorry for being incoherent that's just what they do to me

Law literally stole Smoker’s heart during the Punk Hazard Arc - they saved each other during the Punk Hazard Arc even if they were enemies - classic “Enemies to lovers” energy - perfect matching personalities (INTP x INTJ) - the thrill of a forbidden love between a marine and a pirate.

They have. SUCH a divorcee dynamic listen. - Law literally stole Smoker’s heart in the Punk Hazard arc. - Even though they were enemies, Smoker fought against Vergo and stole Law’s heart to give it back to him, hurting himself A LOT. - at the same time, Law saved Smoker from Vergo and gave Smoker’s heart back even if he didn’t have to. - the way Law smiles when fighting against him and getting on Smoker’s nerves (a lot of tension here hehe). - Smoker’s a marine and Law a pirate, what’s better than a forbidden relationship? - their personalities match perfectly (INTJ and INTP).

SUCH a divorcee dynamic. - we all love a forbidden romance between marine and pirate - the way they interact with each other on Punk Hazard is at the same time easy but full of tension, they clearly have some familiarity w each other - ...and then later they manage to work together seamlessly despite those tensions and differences, and Smoker trusts Law to pick up the slack where he can't. And Law DOES follow through - after the battle Law TELLS Smoker what he's planning next - yeah it's all purposeful for his plans but it's such a clear and obvious manipulation. And yet Smoker does exactly that. - the guy sent to Dressrosa is Issho (which ok Sakazuki says he sent BUT what a funny coincidence still that it's the one guy who's most likely to help Law rather than hinder hmmmm) - when Doffy shows up after Law&co have left and demands to know things Smoker just straight up stonewalls him and lies to his face, with the full knowledge that it may cost him his life. Which yeah, Smoker hates pirates, but he doesn't actually have any reason to do that - if he really didn't care he wouldn't mind siccing the two warlords on each other and watching them destroy themselves so he at the very least must agree with Law if not outright want to help him - delicious narrative parallels! Bc fundamentally they're two sides of the same coin: both are absolutely driven by their personal moral codes and care DEEPLY about people and things. Law may be driven largely by more self-centered goals and focus his good on the smaller circle he chooses to surround himself with, while Smoker is drawn to more lofty pursuits of greater good and helping even those he will never meet or even know of, but at the core they share very similar ideals and values - and ykno. Law LITERALLY punches Smoker's heart out of his chest - also Law is a scrawny-ass twink and you cannot tell me he doesn't have a thing for buff dilfs who could bench press double his weight.

Their backstories parallel each other perfectly! Home destroyed, hunted from a young age saved by a kind marine. Spoilers ahead: They're working together to figure out what the history of the Will of D is, and what happened in the void century! She was the only person Law trusted enough to reveal his middle initial! Also, they could do horrible things together if they decided to use their devil fruits as a team. So many limbs in places they shouldn't be.

Smart, sexy, sleek, intelligent, empathetic, humorous, *might get flustered on occasion*, hobbies: riling up Usopp. Terrific and morbid sense of humour. Just *get* one another. Very close to one another in both age and height!

All right, I’ll play. Dark multi-chap fic, Interdisciplinary at 9,908 hits, finished Jan 2021, I think. One Piece. Repossession (also dark fic, but less dark, about 100K) might’ve beaten it, but I took it down a few times. One Piece as well.

42 superior teeth (Law & Heart Pirates as teens on Swallow Island), one shot, about 3K, published May 20, 2023 & Protect, 338 word ficlet about Rebecca (one piece) published May, 2020, both at 147 hits.

9908–147 = 9761 difference, but not surprising. The Hearts one will probably gain a few more views too. Also, very fast uploader for the multi-chaps :)

Dusty and bloodied, Penguin patted the top of his hat. Widi was gone. First Bepo, now little penguin. He looked over at Shachi. Eyes closed, face bruised, he rested against the back wall of the cell. The prisons were full of rebels and Orocohi was apparently gonna deal with all of them. His forces had restrained the three Hearts with glee. Weirdos, they’d said, should be burnt on the foreshore. Penguin and Shachi were now displayed in a street cell. Penguin glanced at a track of trident footsteps leading away from the jail in the Wano dust.

Rosi's mother gives him a coin to protect him from those who bear the Will of D. Law's mother gives him a coin to pass along the wisdom of a medical clan. Rosi's coin doesn't protect him from demons, but preserves his life in other ways. Maybe it can save the life of another boy lost in the snow hoping for a better life.

Heart Pirates Week 2024: Day 7: April 12: Bepo: Return

Bepo swore to Law that they’d return to their comrades, or their comrades would return to them. After all, the Narwhal followed the same routes, year after year after year. The snow goose migrated from one landmass to another, chasing the warmth. The orca navigated the seas. Return was inevitable. He had hope. They'd be a crew without a ship for sure. A return to old days. But they’d managed before and would again. Everything they’d invested their love and loyalty in to would be returned tenfold. He was certain of it.

Heart Pirates Week 2024: Day 1: Jean Bart: Cursed

No matter what they said, he wasn’t. Jean Bart was not cursed. Even plummeting like this through the dark cold sea, plates of the submarine—once a shelter and shield, now more likely to sever— floating about him, he wasn’t cursed. Even dying in these forlorn waters, hostile to the scattered nineteen men and women sinking in its icy midst, he wasn’t. Just a few hours before he'd blown out the candles on a birthday cake and voiced a wish. One should never voice a birthday wish, but he was lucky. He’d die a free man. He’d served well. His only regret not telling his captain goodbye.
