I think is fascinating how men like Henry Muck can distort reality to such a degree that they believe in their own bulshit.

I know, Henry! Unlike Robert, you can not ever look in the mirror because that would mean finally acknowledging the kind of person you are, the awful things you do to others, the monster inside.

And that's why he uses so much therapy lingo, to hide and hide and hide. A small part of me even feels sorry for this character, he is so out of himself that he will die without landing. He can never be a real boy. And no amount of drugs can ever change that.

Love how ostensibly King the Land is a fanciful little romance show starring kpop idols but then every other episode they say something about the ill treatment of employees under corporations and the indecency of the executives and it's just like huh ?? Okay!!!

Just starting the last 2 episodes and while I knew Lenin would appear (thanks, Tumblr), it’s still the funniest f***ing thing to happen so far.

Introducing himself as Vladimir Ulyanov, and then a moment later slipping in his patronymic Ilyich … 😚👌

Fun fact: Lenin was born in 1870, making him the same age as Anna (if she’s 19 in s1). And, he was an assistant to a lawyer in St. Pete in 1894/5!

He was also possibly quarter Jewish on his mother’s side, but it’s contested. Either way he was obviously a big time atheist.

Anyway, s3 (if it happens) better not go into anti-socialist politics and annoy the shit out of me. Lenin was the GOAT, and witbd and s&r, and imperialism are amazing texts.

Just found out today that my friend posts fanfiction as well.

She told me, nervously, that she posts her writing. And I was like oh! me too!

And her eyes lit up, I’m saying, LIT. UP.

She was like… what do you write?

I was like… fanfiction.

And she was like girl…

ME TOO!

I asked where she posts her writing.

She whispered “Ao3.”

Girl…

ME TOO.

The duration of our conversation included giggling and talking about our fandoms like maniacs.

The best feeling is when you’re able to invite a friend into your secret world of fandoms and fanfiction.

Whenever I get an email from ao3 saying "_____ left you Kudos!" or "_____ commented on ______" An extra week is added onto my lifespan. Remember to always give ao3 authors you enjoy kudos and comments to ensure they live forever.

Many fanfic writers and artists are just one bad day or one discouraging experience away from throwing in the towel and leaving your fandom.

If you don't want to risk this happening to a favorite creator of yours, today might be a good day to let them know how much their work means to you. :)

queeniegalore (literally noone writes ghostsoap like queenie man, her fic called The Spaces Between The Light is my forever comfort read)

MildLimerence (literally the GOAT of this fandom, i swear she's written a solid 30% of everything i've ever read in cod, and i've read her entire catalog maybe 3 times over at this point)

noxmajor (their Seven-Year Itch fic broke my heart and put it back together again)

applepieces (*coughs harder but in bottom!ghost*)

surveycorpsjean (writes for a ton of fandoms and is generally just an incredible witer, but their cod fic Poison Apple i think has the most kudoses in the entire tag and it's for good reason)

congee4lunch (wrote solemn prayer, poppy in my hair which is so painfully domestic and lovely. they've moved on from cod and write for rw&rb now, so don't bother them and ask them for more)

kaijusalad (fell in love with i like you alive, continue to fall in love with every additional fic they write about these freaks)

For all those beautiful AO3 readers out there...

I get an email notification from AO3 every time I get kudos or comments on my fics. I receive those emails while I'm at my soul-sucking day job.

It is a blinding flash of pure joy and delight and love, that floats me along for the rest of the day (and several days after).

So, if you're reading and enjoying someone's fic on AO3... PLEASE KUDO AND COMMENT telling them how much you love it! You are literally feeding their soul.

Bonus points if you tell them what specifically you love, and why, and how much.

You're not wrong for feeling sad or disappointed or even betrayed when a fic you put time and work into gets very little attention. But I do want to remind you that one (1) kudos is a whole-ass human being who read through what you wrote, experienced it, thought about it, and realized they felt so strongly positive about it that they had to send that feeling to you. Try to let the feeling reach you. Feel that you changed someone's day, maybe even more.

Be proud of what you've done, even as you wish you did more.
