But what are your thoughts on what he's trying to tell Wen here? That as a drinker he would quickly find shelter in other apartments? Attaching myself to the AG PP parallels

I think AlanWen break up felt more heartfelt cuz first of all, as you said, the relationship was considerably longer, but also Wen was once IN LOVE with Alan, that was the conflict that he fell out of love but still stayed there in their house, at the start trying to make it work and then trying to stay friends and then not being able to stand Alan anymore cuz he was suffocating, while Alan bless him trying his utmost to make things work again, for almost a year they were living in a limbo

PhimPang don't have that build up, PP have had 1 year of relationship where Pang never even tried to make it work, she did the bare minimum when Phim was trowing herself at her feet to make her feel loved and cared for, but Pang never put the effort, she wants Ai and Phim was just a hot available substitute that sufficed for one year, now that she saw Ai fall for a woman for the first time she didn’t even hesitate to break things up after Phim learnt the truth, Ai was always her priority

it wasn't like Jim that came after Wen qas already out of love and therefore made Wen actively want to move on finally from his and Alans limbo

Pang always loved Ai never Phim, she liked Phim sure but she didn’t love her

so this is why I think the break up of AW was so much more impactfull and felt than PP

side note I fear they will make PP end up together instead of having Phim move on and be with Jan which seems to be the best option for her

anon, i absolutely agree with everything you've said.

because of the previous anon, i went on a painful yet necessary quick trip down alanwen's relationship and because it has been a while since i last watched their scenes, it just hit me how sweet their relationship was. it wasn't just the beginning, they were sweet for most of their relationship. they had morning kisses, and cuddles in bed, trips as a couple, they lived together, they were basically married and then things started going downhill and then it was simply too painful. i'm forever in awe with first and mix for shooting the alanwen's scenes in their apartment, from in love to resentful all in one day.

to be honest, i wouldn't have a problem with pang if she was just going to break up with phim because she doesn't love/care for her. we've seen relationships like that. they try, it doesn't work. they break up. my problem with pang is that she's just selfish. she doesn't care for phim's feelings, and she doesn't care for oon's feelings not even as a friend because oon has tried coming to her for advice and all pang said was (paraphrased) "why are you paying so much attention on your sister's girlfriend, we're barely together anymore, why am i not your priority?" (and btw this makes a good character. i want a character that makes me want to push them down a flight of stairs). you have no idea how scared i was when phim just blurted out 'let's not break-up' and how actually relieved i was when pang ignored her plea and went no, i'm too toxic for you, you're a good person, yada yada.

funnily enough, both couples broke up on ep. 5 and while alan is also a side character, because of his connection to wen who's the main and the whole nature of their plot, we also got more time to be invested in their relationship compared to phimpang who, in all scenes we've seen of them together, had pang focused on something related to oon instead of phim, so i do agree with you. phimpang, as far as we are now, was always a one-sided thing despite both being part of the relationship.

which brings me to the one million (add you currency) question. why the heck and how she goes back to phim, because we still have the trailer kiss with jan watching them. tho i really don't want that to be the case, chances are that phimpang are endgame just bc they started together, but if that's the case, i want it to be earned. i've said this before, if phim is to take pang back, she better crawl her way to her (but as we've seen, phim is a bit of a pathetic meow meow when it comes to pang, so you know…)

I only started making gifs partway through this year, so there was a big learning curve and i still think i'm pretty newbie but it has been a lot of fun and it's nice looking back on how much i think i've improved, though i have so much left to learn next year

i am going to ramble too much because this is my post, fair warning, forgive my self indulgence

this was the very beginning, back in the photopea days before i tried photoshop (i am still quite fond of photopea, 1. because it is free and 2, for stills i think it's just as good as photoshop, but i could never figure out how to make gifs look good with its dithering system. i have seen some remarkable gifmakers using photopea tho so that's a my limited skill problem, and i'm glad i used it to dip my toes into the process!)

i only posted 1 set for abaab this month which looks not good but is still a very fun scene, but this was not actually the first thing i made (see below).

Favorite Thai QL: Bad Buddy, my beloved. I've watched very few QLs, and Bad Buddy is the one that I often go back to when I need a pick-me-up. It may not be perfect (Wai, my beloathed) but the show never fails to make me feel deeply whenever I revisit it.

Favorite Pairing: I share @lurkingshan's opinions on branded pairs, so I'm gonna answer with a pair that I think is well-matched in terms of on-screen talent, and therefore, my favorite: FirstKhao. GMMTV took two bad bitches and said "We're gonna pit them against each other and they're gonna love it" and boy, so do we.

Most underrated actor: I saw Sing Harit almost drown Gun Atthaphan in Not Me and I've been in love ever since. I have no reasonable metrics to know if he's actually underrated, other than the fact that he doesn't show up on my dash as much as I would like. I want to see more of him, and I can't wait to get to The Warp Effect, where he wears.. *checks notes* a puppy mask? Ummmmmmmm

Favorite Character: Time to get controversial, baby!

WAIT. HERE ME OUT.

I absolutely love the fact that Khai is so well-written that half the audience can't stand to watch him and the ones who make it through either viciously hate him or absolutely love him. I love that he was unabashedly awful in the first half, and I love that his redemption arc was gradual. Was he still a dipshit in some moments in the second half? Yes. Was it realistic and in-character? Also yes. I love a character who can fully acknowledge his mistakes and wholeheartedly apologize and strive to do better in the future. So, to sum up, *hugs him close to my chest like a stuffie* KHAI, MY UTTERLY BELOVED!

Favorite Side Character: Hoon from I Told Sunset About You. The fact that called Teh a crybaby when he was having a complete breakdown in Hoon's arms cemented his place in my heart.

Favorite scene in a QL: The AlanWen conversation scene at the outdoor diner in Moonlight Chicken, episode 5. Yes, I'm a masochist, thank you for asking. I'm also a staunch Alan apologist, and will defend my poor little meow meow to the ends of the Earth. (ha, me clever)

Favorite line in a QL: "Why is your wall so high?" -- Wen to Uncle Jim, Moonlight Chicken, episode 6.

Most Anticipated QL (& why): Only Friends -- doy.

Healthiest relationship in a QL: My Sunshine babies, Mork and Tawan from My Ride. They were so good to each other and they got to know each other as friends before moving into a romantic relationship, and the transition felt as natural as possible. The drama was minimal and there were no stupid misunderstandings for the sake of moving the plot along.

Most toxic relationship in a QL: VegasPete in KinnPorsche. I also co-sign @lurkingshan's pick, ToyBoss from My Ride. If anyone messes with my bookshelves the way Toy does at Boss' apartment, they will get thrown off the balcony.

Guilty pleasure series: I don't have one, fam. I'm very new to the QL town and the ones I feel guilty for watching were not pleasurable in any way.

Most underrated series: La Pluie, the love of my life. I've gushed all over my blog about this show, week after week. I don't think I can say anything more that hasn't already been said, so I'm just gonna link the La Pluie meta round up, and invite you to ponder truly how amazing a show must be to inspire these many incredible metas.

Favorite BL: Not Me. I think that might be a surprise to some because I think I probably come across as an Eclipse stan against all odds (which is true), but Not Me is my favourite. Eclipse is up there, as is Bad Buddy. But I love me some anarchic anti-capitalists.

Favorite Pairing: AkkAyan. This is the opposite of surprising.

Most Underrated Actor: AOU THANABOON. Though he's getting so much more recognition of late, which is glorious.

Favorite Character: Tinn (MSP), Ayan (Eclipse), Sean (Not Me). Don't make me pick.

Favorite Side Character: I don't really know how to differentiate side characters from characters. Alan or Heart (Moonlight Chicken), maybe. Because they're apparently supporting characters as opposed to mains.

the episode title 'wrong you right time' combined with the fact that by their 5th anniversary they're no longer touching sends me to a special level of alanwen hell like damn they really were genuinely in love and wanted to be with each other for a vast majority of their relationship. So how can two people who tried, who used to work to the point that wen proposed, suddenly stop making sense?

I think it's likely their engagement that catalyzed wen's dissatisfaction with their relationship. Waking up every day and going on with his life probably didn't feel bad, he might have even been content, he might have even been happy enough that he had proposed. But it's one thing to go through life thinking of only today and the next and a whole other to see your days being every day for the rest of your life. There's a lot of outside factors that can contribute to the dissatisfaction with one's everyday life. And I think it's those factors that led to their ultimate demise. We've all clocked Alan's demanding schedule but there were likely things Wen was dissatisfied with in his own life/career/routine that nothing to do with Alan.

Wen telling Jim that he wants to come home and be at peace has been interpreted by a lot of people (including myself) as Alan being the one actively disturbing that peace. The more likely scenario given ep. 5 is that there were other things in Wen's life that was disturbing his peace and when he'd come home Alan couldn't give him the comfort he sought.

I've joked about Alan processing his breakup the way i processed my phd (genuine highs but also very devastating lows from the same source) but...i think it did work a little bit like that where when other things in their life were happy and stable, they could be happy and stable together. When other aspects of their life went wrong, they were unable to comfort each other and be there for each other.

And I'm fairly certain, something like this - it ran both ways. Wen knows Alan even though he didn't know what to do with him, leading to their long messy breakup. I think it's likely he could tell that he wasn't very successful at being Alan's home either, leading to even more feelings of inadequacy and dissatisfaction.

I was really shocked at hearing Wen say 'i don't want to go jogging with you' and 'i don't want to go to shabu with you' like how can you kick a man who's down because you've broken up with him and ridicule the things he likes doing. But no, I've realized that it's less that Wen didn't like doing activities that Alan enjoyed and more that Wen had been reduced to just those activities by Alan himself.

Eventually, the balance between them being roommates over lovers tipped beyond a point that Wen could tolerate. Alan likely never really opened his heart to Wen and it made Wen realize that he hadn't opened his heart to him either. This was likely always true of them but they couldn't see it till they were tested with their lives growing more complicated.

Moonlight Chicken just ended and i can't deal with it.

So i cried, not today no today i laughed and squicked mainly. But yesterday or last week, the last four weeks of Moonlight Chicken were gut wrenching sadness. And just two weeks ago I posted a Post saying I was ready to throw hands if Li Ming and Heart don't get a happy ending. I was willing to trait everybody else's happiness to make sure the babies are happy. But now I think I can't stay with that. but more on that later.

So I saw a very good post about people not being able to really care for JimWen because they can't relate to them. And I agree, I am , let's say, around 10 years younger than them. I didn't have to deal with the struggles they had to deal with yet, they feel genuine and tragic to me, but not relatable. This is in no way meant to discredit Earth or Mix Acting, they were really good in this, I could feel especially Jims Hurt and anger a lot. But what I am trying to say is I don't feel like I am able to say something useful about their Relationship or characters because I don't know what I would do in their situation, I will leave that to people who can. moving on.

 LiMingHeart the Heart and Light of this show, especially in the first seven episodes they were the light to everybody else's darkness.They of course both had their on set of problems and struggles do deal with, but between Li Ming feeling misunderstood and Heart not feeling heard at all, whenever they were together they were shining, loving and supporting one another. I would say as a couple i can relate to them the most, (alan is also a strong contender here but we talk about him later) I am just like one and a half years older then someone who is just finishing highschool, and i had to explain to my parents that i have no idea what i wanna do after school, and coming from an academic household that is not what they wanna hear. me going to university was always a given to them. Li Ming's main conflict with Jim revolves around a similar situation. I can feel how misunderstood he feels, especially because Fourth is an exceptional young actor, he is so good at conveying his feelings through his eyes. I am baffled every time. 

And Heart with his parents just breaks my heart every time. The way they needed some eighteen year old kid , come in and show them how to love their son is so sad. But we love to see some character development and how in the end they not only learned sign language for him, but allowed him to go to the states with Li Ming.Gemini as Heart was fantastic too, the boy had three lines in this show, so his lines were his facial expression, the way heart signed (because we didn't get subtitles for what he said either) and his body language. And Gemini made you feel it all, the happiness with Li Ming, or the anger and frustration at his parents for not trying to learn for him.  I loved their story and the way they discovered first love between them, and as I said I was ready to let everybody else suffer to make sure they stay happy…. but then someone just went straight into my heart.

AlanGaipa

Alan just struck a chord with me. Not two Weeks ago I got out of a four year Relationship my Partner ended (for me) out of nowhere and I still have him in my life, because we have the same friend circle and we don't want to break it because of our breakup. So yeah how do you deal with your partner still being there but not really being there. So from the moment we got introduced to AlanWens story I felt with him, yes he had no right to act like Wen cheated, which he didn't, but Wen didn't really help the situation by continuing to sleep with someone who was obviously desperately trying to hold on to him. But somewhere along the story I just wanted something bright in Alan's life. not just for him, but for me , someone to help us heal. And who better than a boy who has so much love to give, who needs someone that recognizes that love and is willing to give just as much love back to him. Because we know Alan gives so much to his Boyfriend, maybe a bit too much for Wen but I am sure Gaipa can take it, and respond with the same amount.

This is also very much swayed by my love for FirstKhao and everything they do. Khao is such a talented actor when it comes to his emotions and his feelings. It is the first time I cried for a TV series in my life, when I saw him breaking down in the hospital after his mother died. 

And the way First played Alan gave me the Feeling of looking in an emotional mirror, because yes i know what he feels like and how hard it is to let go of five years of love.

But in the end we got crumbs of what their flirting and future might look like and it was enough for me to fall in love with them and feel like Alan will for sure find Happiness in him and maybe just maybe a Geipa will walk into my life too. 

At first i thought for sure they wouldn't give Gaipa and Alan a story, i was sure they would just go off to heal on their own, because we had nothing after Episode 6 and normally the show takes time to develop something as big as a Relationship, but maybe that's what they tried to tell us, not every Happiness takes as long as Jim and Wen, maybe you can meet the cute chicken seller boy, get his number, and ask him on a date in a couple of days. 

Something i thought after watching yesterdays and todays Episode was that they put it in because it is FirstKhao we are talking about, their friendship and especially their success as a couple, but that is not true, they filmed Moonlight chicken while the Eclipse Premiered, before First and Khao became the “Powercouple” they are today. Like they let the scene in where First cried when Khao sang, because that is what it was, because it was not in the script, First is just a huge softie for Khao.So I am even happier about the fact that in the end even both people that were left behind by Jim and Wen found happiness in each other.

Something Else i wanted to add was a very interesting post about the color coding of the show. Alan is seen in dark and Blue colors, taking it with him wherever he goes and even putting it on other people, it shows his sadness and loneliness even more, but the moment he meets Gaipa at the Funeral he starts to glow golden like the rest of the characters in love.

And as he leaves Gaipa and the Funeral and goes to leave it comes back, we then again see him in yellow and gold again with Gaipa at the bank and the restaurant, because Gaipa brings the light slowly back in his dark world. 

Conclusion:

Honestly 10/10 would recommend, for everybody, not only BL or Drama Fans, just everybody, i am probably gonna force it on one of my movie nerd friends, just because of the Filmography and the superb acting in this series

HERE WE GO: Thai QL Favorites Tag Game! Thanks to @waitmyturtles for the tag.

Favorite Thai QL: I'm going to have to echo @waitmyturtles answer, and that's Bad Buddy. My runner-up is My School President, which is quite possibly one of the best QLs I've seen but also at least partly an homage to BBS. In terms of BBS, I've watched it so many times it's kind of silly. (I tried to do an estimate and came up with 50 watches in a year; that counts both my own watches and when I watch it through a reactor channel.) But also, it broke my world open, and I will never, ever let it go for that reason. It was the second QL I watched, and it changed my life and anyway, that's a story for another time.

Favorite Pairing: How does anyone answer this? Phew, I don't know. Right now I'm super inclined to say KanThua because I'm at the end of an Eclipse rewatch, and watching Neo play Kan's longing and fear and love and anger is just....phew. Thua is a little bit of a shit at the end of the show, but...they compel me. Runners-up? PatPran, SoundWin and KhaiThird. (I write fic about the first and last so...yeah, I find them compelling.)

Most underrated actor: I feel like if I notice acting it's because the actor is really good and everyone realizes it. Like, everyone knows Fourth Nattawat is already one of the best actors in the GMMTV stable, right? RIGHT?

Favorite Character:  Li Ming (MLC). Kao (DBK). Win (UWMA, Between Us).

Favorite Side Character: I've already mentioned so many as a part of couples, but....Tankhun from KP. The wardrobe. The lines. The love of two fish.

Favorite scene in a QL: Why are you doing this to me? Rooftop kisses always hit. Ep 5 in BBS, Ep 5 in NLMG.

Favorite line in a QL: I don't think I can answer this. First of all, I'm not sure I'm always understanding the nuance in any given scene because well, I'm watching in translation. But secondly, I simply cannot remember. Too many shows crammed into a year of watching.

Most Anticipated QL (& why): Only Friends. We're all going to lose our minds, and I for one welcome those halcyon days. I am also hyped for Cherry Magic and Cooking Crush because I love TayNew and OffGun.

Healthiest relationship in a QL: Uh. HeartLiMing? They have tons of time to become toxic.

Most toxic relationship in a QL: AlanWen. Uea's entire family in Bed Friend.

Guilty pleasure series: I don't believe in guilty pleasures. It's pretty central to the way I live my life that I own the things that I love and that I don't hide them. (FWIW, I've been reading romance novels my whole adult reading life and this is where the 'no guilty pleasures' came from; that and being a public librarian. Every day, people apologized for their book taste, and folks, it's not great to see and hear. We none of us should feel guilt for the things that entertain us.)

Most underrated series: Boy, I don't know if I know how to figure out if something is properly rated. I've been reading all the My Ride and La Pluie meta popping up on tumblr, which makes it feel like people properly treasure and rate these shows, but maybe that's only because I follow all the people who properly rate them. So uh, My Ride and La Pluie?

Favourite character: pran (i've said this before but the particular ways in which he expresses/doesn't express his emotions and why he does that is very personal to me)

Funniest character: pat (peak himbo behavior)

Favourite three ships: patpran (ugh, the childhood friends but also enemies and forbidden romance of it all), inkpa (sapphics, in my bl??), waikorn (we were robbed)

Best-looking character: pa (she is so cute, i'm in love with her)

Least favourite character: wai (he was such a petty bitch for outing patpran like that)

Least favourite ship: waipa (stay away from her!!)

Reason why I watch it: i love pain and suffering (episode 4 4/4, 5 4/4, 10 4/4, 11 4/4 i'm looking at you, specifically); first bl i ever watched so it's nostalgic for me even though it aired relatively recently

Why I started watching it: saw gifsets of episode 5 and was like, yep, this is going to make me mentally ill :)

MOONLIGHT CHICKEN

Favourite character: li ming (god what a CHARACTER; i want to wrap him in a blanket and give him a kiss on the forehead)

Funniest character: jim (simply for the "you're poor, and now you're gay too??" line. it wasn't supposed to be funny, but it was.)

Favourite three ships: heartliming (sweetest boys ever their scenes completely wrecked me), alanwen (came for the jugular), alangaipa (meetcute! at your mom's funeral and the bank, lol)

Best-looking character: gaipa (please he's so cute)

Least favourite character: heart's parents (they caused my boy so much pain!!)

Reason why I watch it: dream cast, unique and mature storytelling, series to cry to, etc.

Why I started watching it: i looked forward to it since the pilot trailer because of earthmix's chemistry, firstkhao's acting, and geminifourth's heartwarming dynamic

I wanna butt in on the Heart Li Ming/Tinn Gunn first kiss debacle!

I have to say that I would love for Heart Li Ming to kiss first just for the fun of seing the uproar this event would spawn on the MSP and Gem4rt fandom...

But I don't want to get my expectations too high cuz it is still a gmmtv preview and as we know it we cannot trust a gmmtv preview considering the same fact that they swapped lines in the preview(AlanWen "I don't love you anymore"/"it's a shitty excuse") until tomorrow I will not get my hopes up!
