Lance stared at his father, speechless, for a minute.

"Marriage?" Lance asked, his voice an octave too high. For this conversation, his father had taken Lance to one of their coziest lounges, and they were sitting on the couch.

"Yes, to a Galran knight. Or, well, half-galran," Alfor replied.

"Wait, half-galrans are a thing?" At Alfor's raised eyebrows, Lance shook his head, "sorry. Back to... this... marriage thing? Why me?"

Alfor shrugged and said, "I thought he might be your type?"

"How do you know I have a- no, nope, we aren't having that conversation. As far as you know, I don't have a type," Lance replied, blushing to the very tips of his ears. His father had the gall to chuckle.

"Your romantic tendencies aren't quite a secret, son. Sorry to burst your bubble," Alfor laughed.

"Does that mean mother..."

Alfor grinned wickedly, "Your mother told me."

Lance brought his hands to his face and groaned loudly. "Please, kill me now!"

Alfor laughed harder this time.

"In any case, Lance, think about it. You don't have to meet him if you don't want to, but I think I'm on the right track with this one."

"I really don't want to know how you reached that conclusion," Lance moaned, still hiding his face.

Alfor laughed and left after leaving a rectangle of paper on the table. Lance plopped bonelessly on the couch as soon as he heard the door click. His hands fell on his side.

"This is so embarrasing!" He exclaimed to the room.

It wasn't that he was subtle about his advances or that he didn't know about his own reputation as a flirt. He knew. He revelled in it, even. He just thought that it was the kind of gossip that was kept, purposely, by all members of the court, out of the king and queen's ears.

His eyes drifted to the table. The piece of paper taunted him. He would be lying if he said he wasn't intrigued. But marriage?

"Quiznack," he mumbled under his breath and grabbed the paper. In it was a picture, and as soon as Lance's eyes fell on it, he felt his heart stop. The boy... man in the picture didn't look Galran at all. In fact, if it wasn't for his ears and lack of markings, Lance would have thought he was Altean.

The man had a square jaw and deep violet eyes that stared at the camera with an intensity that wasn't necessary for a picture. His gaze was so intense, it felt as though he was watching Lance. He had black hair that reached his shoulders and Lance wanted nothing more than to touch it because it looked so silky.

He was so his type. Ugh! Alfor would never let him live it down, would he? At least Lance could wait a day or two while he "thought" it over. Father couldn't know how good he got Lance just yet.

Keith was proud of his achievements. Being part of the Galran court as a half-human was difficult: it wasn't a secret that a lot of nobles looked down on him for being a half-breed bastard and his mother for being a whore. Not that either of them minded all that much: Keith became one of the best knights and was quickly climbing through the ranks, in great part to spite the court and his mother was the closest advisor to Queen Honerva.

However, as her friend, Queen Honerva despised how the court treated them and so she came up with this idea to "help" them. She invited them to her sunroom for lunch and dropped the marriage bomb on him. Clearly, his mother was in on it and Keith was unimpressed.

"No," Keith categorically refused, "I'm not something you can just sell to the highest bidder."

"Keith!" Krolia exclaimed, looking scandalized.

"Is that what you think this is?" The queen asked, unfazed by his lack of propriety.

"Why else would you try to set me up with a prince?" Keith asked, frowning.

"If aything, it's him who is being, as you so crassly put it, 'sold'," the queen replied, "as the one initiating the courtship, you would be the 'buyer,' so to say."

"That doesn't make it any better," Keith huffed, "I have enough people who barely tolerate me. I don't want to add a future husband to that list."

The queen raised an eyebrow, looking severely unimpressed by Keith's tirade.

"I don't think you understand how this works," she said.

"Of course I know how this works. You sign an agreememt or treaty or something and as proof of loyalty, I have to marry a prince and-"

"Sir Keith, you don't have to do anything you don't want to do," the queen interrupted.

"Huh?"

The queen sighed, and continued, "King Alfor, King Zarkon and I are old friends. King Alfor has a lot of children. Princess Allura is the heir to the throne. They have a powerful armada and are economically stable. Believe me, Sir Keith, they don't need an alliance through marriage."

Keith felt as though the rug was pulled out from under him and he floundered, "Then why...?"

"I won't deny that I'm thinking of how to improve your stand in front of the court," the queen admitted, "snagging a prince, even one who is low on the line of succession, is one way of ensuring that."

"But I don't want to marry just to spite the court!" Keith exclaimed.

"Isn't that why you became a knight?" The queen pressed.

Keith was stumped, "Partly, yes, but also to prove to myself that I could do it."

Krolia decided to intervene then, because at this point they were going in circles.

"Keith, let's put aside all the political aspects of this issue," she said and he glared at her, but she persisted, "I have seen you stand on the sidelines during balls and official functions. Finding a partner is always difficult, but as a half-human in a Galran court..."

"Nearly impossible," Keith petulantly agreed.

"It has nothing to do with you as a person, but..."

"But I'm not attractive to Galrans, is that what you're saying?" Keith nearly growled, "Well, I don't need them. I'm just fine on my own."

That was a lie and everyone in the room knew it. Keith craved intimacy with another, someone to love and who loved him, but he was keenly aware of how other Galrans looked at him. He was aware that to their hairy, purple standards, Keith was very ugly.

"My point is that we thought looking for a match in the Altean court would be better for you, because they look remarkably like humans," Krolia continued.

"So we asked King Alfor if he had anyone in mind for you, and he suggested Prince Lance right off the bat," the queen interjected, "this is a picture of him."

Defeated by his own curiosity, Keith took the picture. In it, there was a breathtaking man with sun-kissed skin and the bluest eyes he had ever seen. His brown hair was windswept and mused as he grinned at the camera as if he was sharing a joke with it.

Keith felt his face flush. This man was handsome... and hot. Keith found himself unable to look away from the picture. Krolia and Queen Honerva shared a knowing smile.

"So, there's a ball next month for the Juniberries Harvest Festival. Should I tell Alfor to expect you, then?" Queen Honerva asked.

Keith gulped. The picture seemed to draw him in. If this was Prince Lance in only a picture, what would he be like in person? He cleared his throat.

"Yes, please. Tell his majesty I'll be happy to attend," Keith answered.

The queen, delighted, clapped her hands, "Wonderful!"

Keith looked at the picture again, unable to help the butterflies that began fluttering in his stomach. He smiled.

I really need more fanfics of Arranged/Assisted Marriage AUs where both parties get consulted and agree to the match, which ends up in a successful marriage. Or, alternatively, where both parties are allowed and able to not go through with anything they don't want.

feeling sad about krolia thinking about and dreaming about the day she gets to see her baby again, and when it happens she sees an almost adult who has been thrust into a war she tried to protect him from.

thinking about her desperately wanting to be a good mom but realizing she has no idea how to be, and that keith has grown up without one and doesnt need her in the ways she wishes he did.

thinking about keith desperately wanting a mom but when he meets her its been so long that he doesnt know how to be a son, doesnt know how to rely on other people for help.

all this was to say that lance had the perfect set up for a deep, beautiful character arc but…well. we all know what happened. he’s arrogant, overconfident, and cocky and this ends up with him making mistakes and costing his team a pretty run with the flight sim. yet you can see in that episode with the yupper that lance has a deep insecurity that he buries and hides under smirks and quips and a whole lotta pride. (they also could’ve tied it to his family as well since they gave him multiple siblings which would’ve overshadowed his accomplishments which is the root of him striving for greatness and perfection so much that he gets tunnel vision and his team pays the price, but i digress.) with his competition/rivalry with keith, the star student who is effortlessly talented, it would’ve been beautiful for them to be equals as coleaders without them realizing. it wasn’t a conscious decision for either of them but lance’s little line from the first episode had more truth than he realized - “lance and keith, neck and neck”.

and then to lose that along with himself when kuron takes control of the team, to watch him struggle and flounder and fall deeper into his insecurities, his pride and ego wounded so much that he is unsure of his every move, his every word, his every breath. it would’ve been PERFECT for him to figure out that kuron was a clone and that the team was under galran command. lance being forced into the leadership role, much like keith was, and having to make decisions and choices for the team as black paladin - still being so unsure of what he’s doing and if it’s right. he full heartedly believes that the team needs keith back, they can’t do this without him, but keith is on the space whale and no one can get ahold of him so it’s up to lance. lance who slowly heals the deep wound within him that has him believing that he’ll never be good enough and grows his confidence back on solid ground. lance who becomes steady and sure of himself and leads the team almost effortlessly.

all this paralleling keith’s character arc which (ofc) happened off screen in canon. keith who was restless and explosive for years bc he never had a mother, his father died when he was young, he was bounced around from foster home to foster home, and once he found a permanent home, shiro goes missing and is presumed dead. keith who is constantly searching for something he can’t name and finding his mother and is forced to be with her for two years while glimpsing the past and future. keith seeing his parents meet and fall in love, watching as his mother practically tore herself apart inside as she left him and his father behind - feeling a piece of him settle within at the sight. she didn’t want to leave, she would’ve given anything to stay. watching his father and shiro raise him, their love unconditional until the day they left. krolia watching little keith rage at the injustice and being there for his older self and healing those wounds. settling every restless piece within him until he became the man who stepped back onto the castleship with a space wolf, an altean, and his alien mom.

keith and lance finding a shred of stability with one another as coleaders of voltron and best friends since they definitely grew closer during s3. they were attached at the hip, they did everything together, the line between platonic and romantic blurred so much that it wasn’t even there anymore, it was just them. but it was unhealthy how close they were, how dependent they were on one another. only to be torn apart and with their unhealthy codependency, they completely fall apart without the other there so theyre forced to rebuild the foundations of their beings. lance crumbles all alone as he and the team become distant and he rebuilds as black paladin. keith crumbles alone at the blade hopping from mission to mission and rebuilds on the space whale with his mother.

steady keith and lance meeting almost like for the first time after lance and the team took out kuron and keith and krolia found a hidden altea. together they turn on lotor and take him down too. since kuron has already been dealt with, lotor didn’t get away and all that other shit in canon didn’t happen so they get to remain in space until they take the empire completely. allura places shiro into the clone’s body and meets romelle and talks of freeing the hidden altea after the war is over and theyre not at risk anymore. keith and lance are unsure of how to proceed with the whole leader thing but there again pops up the coleader resolution. as steadier, mature versions of themselves, keith has really stepped into the black paladin position while lance had always been more suited for red. keith and lance, leader and his right hand, but they’re equals. theres no competition, no rivalry, no jealousy or envy, just respect and love.

What if Keith worked with lotor as one of his generals? Who would be the red paladin? I think it would be allura, or lance would be in red and allura would be in blue. Keith could’ve known shiro on earth but after the Kerberos mission incident, Keith tried looking for him like in cannon but couldn’t. Then, somehow bc I’m not sure yet, Keith gets ‘kidnapped,’ by lotor/the galra. He becomes one of lotors generals alongside acxa, ezor, zethrid and narti

The paladins got into space similarly to cannon. Pidge gets the Voltron’s signals, they kidnap shiro but PIDGE finds the blue lion, then they get shot into space and become the paladins of Voltron alongside allura and coran

They catch the attention of lotor and his generals since, oh shit, voltrons back and oh wait!! Keith knows the black paladin for some reason? Plus the galra empire but yk this ain’t about them

So it goes down how it did in canon for how the paladins meet lotor and technically the generals, I don’t remember how this happened so it’s vague, sorry, and then they meet Keith. Shiro can barely recognize Keith. It can’t be him. That can be the same like 12 year old he knew all those years ago. This is someone completely different.. right? He certainly looks different..

I think Keith would probably looks more galran rather the human. Example being yellow sclera, pointy irises(like a cat), maybe even white pupils, and his teeth and nails are sharper, almost like claws, his hair has a purple tint to it, like his mother’s. Basically he appears human but the more they look at him the less human he seems

The paladins, specifically and mainly shiro, end up having to fight him like the do acxa or ezor or zethrid. And frankly, shiro feels terrible about it. No one but shiro and lance knew who Keith was. But lance didn’t really like him because of their one sided rivalry. So shiro had to explain how he knew Keith. How that cannot be the same boy he helped and cared for. It can’t be his little brother.

Then lotor goes kinda crazy and says he’s gonna destroy the galra! Which is yk.. definitely something to say! So Keith and the others help haggar and the empire, like in canon. But Keith questions it like acxa eventually did. So he ends up helping the paladins, who still barely trust him, which is fair. But he does something that gains their trust. Maybe keeping lance safe by risking his life. Keith ends up growing to trust shiro again. He only ‘stopped’ trusting him because he was left behind. And he had worked with lotor, who really made it seem like he, shiro, was untrustworthy

But he isn’t needed with the paladins, until shiro fucking dies but I’ll get to that in a second, so he helps the BoM. Where he finds his momma then gets stuck on that damn whale thing. But he gets kosmo and finds out krolia is his mom

But then shiro goes missing. So he has to help the paladins. But he’s not the leader, no no no. That’s lance. Allura is in blue and Keith is in red.

Are you still in the Voltron fandom? If so, how the hell did Keith forgive Kronos if she abandoned him for so long?

I'm ABSOLUTELY still in the Voltron fandom and I will always love Voltron to shreds!! ^.^

I wish I had time to rewatch to give a good response. I've been low on time. I wanted to let you know I received this and am itching to answer, but know I can't go into the depth and accuracy I'd prefer.

It's been years since I've watched, so forgive me working by old memories and no one grill me for possible inaccuracies.

But forgiving Krolia is plausible to me. Throughout the series, Keith demonstrates a pain from unfulfilled central connections and grappling with his understandings of identity. It stings his mother was gone. That fuels anger. That's an insecurity that deeply impacts a person and is almost impossible to un-program. But while Keith is prone to anger and bitterness in a variety of situations, he psychologically got programmed to lash out, act out, because of his semi-unfulfilled needs for central connections. With mom issues, dad issues, Shiro's absence multiple times, etc., the underlying vulnerability is still a yearning to have the vacuum filled.

Keith and Krolia spent an extensive time alone. The solo time is enough to metamorphose a person's disposition. Keith would naturally, necessarily interact with the only other person around in that timescale. That's his only companionship. He would gradually warm up to her from that and the fact that, deep down, this is a boy who wants familial fulfillment. I'm sure there were introspective conversations between the two. Set aside, alone together, he'll mature and mellow over his disposition toward Krolia, and grow, if not without his scars, in the direction of stability.

Lance has always been obsessed with Keith's hair for some reason. He didn't know why at first, but as time went on, it became so clear that he wanted to run his hands though it and feel it on his fingers.

He made comments about it being an ugly mullet to hide that fact. It didn't work, especially not when he confessed to Keith before he left for the Blade.

What? He was going to lose the chance to say anything anyway! And he was so happy when Keith kissed him to shut him up and told Lance that his feelings were reciprocated, he felt as if he were on cloud nine.

Since coming back from his fight with Shiro's clone (who they're forever going to refer to as Kuro as in 'Operation Kurone'), Keith has experienced some changes.

For starters, his eyes were more purple. Before they'd been a grey colour with purple undertones, but now they were properly purple. Then his canines were sharper, practically fangs, and his eyes would sometimes change. When he was angry, his irises would become slits and the sclera of his eyes would become yellow. It was hot, in Lance's humble opinion (Pidge called him an alien fucker when he said that at first. Lance said that Keith's dad was the true alien fucker. Shiro sprayed the water he was drinking everywhere and choked when he said that).

The most noticeable change happened to Keith's hair though. The ends of it lightened, until they were purple. It looked so cool, and it connected Keith to Krolia more. His hair stayed black, but now when it gets out it was purple.

Keith... Didn't think the same way as everyone else.

"I feel like I'm losing my dad. I've only ever looked like my mom, and the one thing that has ever connected me to my dad was my hair." The team had stopped on a planet for a rest, and Keith and Lance had gone off together to hunt down some meat and gather fruit and vegetables.

Lance stopped and grabbed Keith's wrist, forcing him to stop and turn to face him.

"You're still connected to your dad, Keith. It's just not entirely in your appearance," he said. Keith frowned.

"What do you mean?" He asked. Lance hummed.

"You said that he'd go head first into danger, right?"

"Yeah..?"

"And that he was a hero?"

"Where are you going with this?"

"According to your mom, your dad was kind, and reckless, and a hero and someone she loved enough to leave to keep safe."

"Mom said that?" Keith asked, sounding surprised. Lance nodded. "Where are you going with this anyway?"

"Because those are some things that you have in common with your dad," Lance answered. Keith opened his mouth, then closed it.

"... You're right," he eventually said. Keith reached up to his hair and fiddled with a purple end. "That stuff... Does connect me to my dad..."

"I'm never wrong about people things," Lance said, confidently. Keith smiled down at him (that had happened during the two year time dilation that Keith and Krolia went through, and Lance found that he liked having to look up over looking down).

"You know more about people than I do," he agreed. He pressed a kiss to Lance's forehead. "Thank you."

"Anything for you," Lance said. He pressed a kiss to Keith's lips. "Now, let's go catch something that Hunk can make into a good meal."

"Alright."

They worked quickly, and made their way back to the campsite with food that all of them could eat. Hunk was quick to take care of the food, Krolia helping him while Romelle stayed by Allura's side.

Lance sat on a log, and Keith settled himself between his legs. Kosmo flopped down with them.

Lance ran his hands through Keith's hair, smiling as Keith joked with the others and treated Shiro and Romelle like Lance treated his siblings - by annoying the hell out of them out of love.

Lance leaned down and pressed a kiss to the top of Keith's head.

"I love you," he whispered. Keith hummed, tilting his head to look up at him. There was a smile on his face reserved just for Lance.

"I love you too," he replied.

Okay I don’t want this to be like an obnoxious millennial assumption because I’m positive that every generation has things like this, but the way autism and ADHD was treated for us in the 90’s and how it affects adult diagnoses is like, imo, so integral to our coming of age and the stories we tell and the way we’ve gotten to know ourselves, even the way it relates to our job market and economy and how we operate inside it, and especially the way a pandemic uncovered it for so many people and exposed the cracks and revealed that we were all just barely functioning and held together with popsicle sticks and anyway

I say that because maybe it’s the un-diagnosed 90’s child in me but I feel particularly emotional about Keith’s arc in learning that he’s part Galra, and the way even the creators said they made him sort of prickly because of his biology, and I just !! Think so much about Keith’s neurotype as a part Galra!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cause something about being diagnosed later in life is like, looking back at all the other ways you tried to handle yourself, all the missteps, maybe even misdiagnoses. Like, how many times did you try to treat ANXIETY without realizing you didn’t have an anxiety disorder, you just can’t deal with your family blaring the TV from the next room? How many times were you told you were lazy, or lying, when you didn’t know what executive dysfunction is? 

Keith is such a lovely rich character because his prickliness is EARNED—we know what happened to him, we know he’s traumatized, we know he’s been treated poorly by many people in his life. We know that he grew up thinking that he’d been abandoned by one of the people who should’ve loved him the most, in the whole world. He even questions that in his vlog—he makes the connection that he has trouble with people because of his mom. 

But I just wonder like, how much of it is just his biology. Not understanding the body he’s in, being completely ignorant of one whole half of his culture. Had he ever mutated before the TBP fight? Did it take him by surprise, did it frighten him? ((* This is head canon territory LMAO there’s no way to really know—like, is he able to do this because he just spent so much time with Krolia, or does Shiro going That’s the Keith I remember mean they used to have really primal sex that turned his eyes yellow? Lol)) 

Like when we talk about even the most broad generic terms of saying someone is neurodivergent, we don't even need to put a real life label on Keith. Like he's literally not human! Of course his brain looks different! Of course he functions differently! And I wonder how much is nature v nurture -- if he knew the truth about his mom, if his dad had lived, if he'd been allowed a normal childhood, would he still have been a weird kid?

Cause like, even seeing the way Shiro is able to get through to him, we see ways that he allowed for thrill seeking, and he didn't judge Keith for stealing his car. It reminds me of like, what we know now about asking children to sit still in school, and how perhaps some children would do better with standing desks. Shiro wants him to behave and succeed, and doesn't judge him for being a car thief, and gets through to him by bringing him cliff diving. And it just feels like this clue, you know, that nothing is wrong with Keith, he's just living in a weird place where people don't get him.

It’s just really special to me, because there’s so many pieces in the sequence of events of Keith’s character arc, and I know I’ve said this a handful of times now, but I really sincerely believe it’s the only thing the show really nailed. Accepting himself during the BOM Trial -> MOMENTS later learning something very important about his biology -> spending time with Krolia -> coming back to pilot Black when he’s READY and WANTS to (unlike the first time, when he resisted) -> becoming a pragmatic strong leader by the end.

Gosh idk. 

I don’t really have anywhere to go with this, it’s just something I was thinking about today and it gets me real emotional. Like, Keith must have had these moments, re-evaluating who he’d been before he’d known, finally understanding why he was Like That, and it’s so healing to imagine him accepting his past self and forgiving it because he understands now.

Basically the premise is the same as the beginning of Voltron; Krolia left when he was a baby, Tex died when Keith was 9 and now Keith lives alone in the shack.

I'm gonna say the reason Krolia didn't take Keith with her was (1) her ship only had one seat and she couldn't fly and hold him at the same time (2) she was returning to an ongoing war and didn't want Keith to be a part of it (3) babies don't do well in space travel

- Keith never went to school for obvious reasons but I'd like to think Tex still tried to educate Keith on as much as he could.

- Keith does not have any adult clothes that fit him. So he wears his dad's old stuff. (He doesn't wear pants cuz that damn tail gets in the way)

Vld rewatch was a wild trip honestly. My general opinions are as follows:

Generic ass show. I'm not entirely sure why it took off as much as it did but it was generic af.

I still stand by that the Alteans spout some serious "white man's burden" type of shit. Very reminiscent of all the shit I spent slogging over in my postcol lectures.

I'm still shook that people never pointed out Alfor literally nuked Daibazaal and basically forced the Galrans into exile.

Haggar's character died when she remembered she's a mom.

I may not be huge on Allura given some of the really weird choices made with the Alteans but damn you really murked the victim of a genocide for the greater good, huh?

Kl fans really thought their ship was gonna be canon cause a couple people on the show drew art for it. I guess Revy and Roberta have been screwing behind the scenes.

Shiro is my son and the only good thing second to my best friend acquisition to come out of vld. I would have added Zarkon but we literally had only 2 seasons of him before his daddy ass was nuked.

I originally went in expecting ka1lura because that's how it always went and started actually liking a1lurance by the end. Yes it was developed pretty well all things considered. Only one other duo was developed more than them and it wasn't the two twinks.

I like the MFE pilots more than the paladins given that the latter's bond was non existent by the end.

Hunk and Shay were not a good couple in terms of development. Sorry it's cute but it's boring as fuck. No build up, they meet, the fat guy liked the fat girl and they immediately start dating. That's the way of the fat peeps in media. Lord forbid we give people who aren't skinny actual developed love stories.

My use of the word daddy is reserved for two fictional men. He's one of them.

Keith, Matt, Ezor and Allura were the prettiest characters. I can see why everyone wanted a piece of Keith in particular for their ships.

Keith x Axca would have been the lamest endgame. My boy is running around in space, is a part alien and with so many unique looking characters around him only to end up with the alien with the most uninteresting character design is just ridiculous. Had she looked buff like Zethrid or unusual like Ezor I'd have been down for it.

Krolia had bad character design. She's a generic fem galra Keith au fan art.

You couldn't get me to take [Man]'s existence seriously. If you put a loaded gun to my head and demanded I do I'd squeeze your trigger finger and off myself instead.

Shiro's new arm is UGLY.

Lotor's arc was dumb. Loved the racism of Lotor's Altean side being praised when he's faking goodness but a Galran when he's evil? As if it's not his Altean mother's obsessive ambition that led to his downfall while Zarkon literally went mad because of his love and devotion for Honerva? Oh right, Alteans good Galra bad. My mistake.

LM and JDS don't deserve a fraction of the slander they still keep getting. The show was bad in the way a generic idea tends to be when you have a bunch of different writers.

S8 is objectively awful but the quality declined after s2.

I hate their chins. Shiro was the only one with a chin I could get behind.

I really want to go back to that time when we used to slap "Disclaimer: I do not own *insert show name*. The show and all the characters are the property of *insert company/creator's name*". It will definitely reduce the obscene entitlement amongst modern audiences.

thinking about that idea where Keith really is a port brat raised on the fringes of the Galra Empire but taking it in a different direction this time. He was still born on Earth, and Krolia left him and his dad like she does in canon, but they later wind up abducted when the Galra come back a third time (though Heath manages to prevent them from finding out about the blue lion).

The Galra establish that Keith is half-Galra, so he's separated from his dad at a young age to be raised as a part of the Empire. He runs away when he's a teenager, and ends up as part of a group of Galra delinquents who typically make trouble for the soldiers while dodging the draft themselves. He's passively looking for his dad (he can barely remember him) and is not really looking for his mom at all when he hears a rumor that the current Champion looks just like him.

When he hears that he'll be brought to the colony he lives in... curiosity gets the best of him. He wants to see this Champion for himself.

Less of a full fic, more of a rough sketch of a concept.

Been thinking about a modern au where Tex & Krolia never married. They come to a point when Keith is 7 where their romantic relationship has come to its natural end but they're still best friends and want to raise Keith together so the farthest Tex moves is a different bedroom.

A few months later he starts dating the divorced mom of an 11yo boy at the same time as Krolia goes on a business trip where she meets a young widow with a 6yo daughter.

Tex & Krolia refuse to leave Keith behind to bounce between them, so they stay in the house, moving their new partners in with them. It's a bit of an adjustment, but the kids all get along and are acting like siblings in no time.

These are the relationships Tex & Krolia know will last, and a few months before their double wedding, they and their fiancees sit down with a lawyer, formally adopting each other's kids and signing co-parenting agreements. Shiro, Keith, and Romelle do not understand why they need to have some paper telling them they're siblings when it's something they already know.

Years later, when Lance tries to warn Keith about his own family, Keith just remind him that he grew up with two siblings and four parents, how bad could it be?

im writing this because my friends are being assholes and this gives me an excuse to ignore them

So, in this Bones x Voltron au, Keith is Sweets. and we all know that lance sweets had a shitty past with the foster care system so i’ll be bringing one of my favorite (if done well) head cannons in. Everyone say hi to “keiths abusive past in the foster system after his dads death”!! now keith was in the system since he was about 8-14/5 right? cus thats the general age he looks then he joins the garrison for high school and leaves (is kicked out) the final year (yada yada yada, cannon ensues.) Keith comes back to Earth and time had passed, he’s finally able to drink and shit.

But he’s been in space for so long, that he doesn’t know how to socialize. He also doesn’t know how humans work anymore, because some of his own anatomy has changed with his inevitable galra puberty. So obviously he decides to study psychology in hopes of understanding how to communicate with people.

Now the fun stuff. He gets a job into the fbi as one of the youngest psychologists because he has a good reference from the garrison (which, in my mind, is in it’s own way a military school). help doesn’t wanna go into the fbi with this big reputation of saving the world, because they’ll ask about that and wouldn’t focus on the fact that he id a registered psychologist!

Now this can either “end” in 2 ways. Either number 1 (the boring one) where instead of Lance dying, his new galra anatomy (and the trained ability to move his organs while in the BOM) makes sure he survives and Daisy doesn’t have to raise their kid without him.

Or we can go with my favorite, number 2!! Now number 2 lies in the fact that the government knows about aliens and that Hodgins regularly goes to sweets (when they’re both not clocked in) to share conspiracy theories together. Of course, they’re best friends so Keith keeps no secrets and introduces Hodgins to his mom. Its also important to point out that Hodgins is an orphan. So of course Krolia emotionally adopts this crazy lil silly guy whos like, less than a fraction of her age.

Everything comes to a blow when something causes both Keith and Hodgins to be in danger. Keith still keeps his blade with him with permission from the government because you know, he saved the world. And that blade has some connection to his mom so he sends a pulse through it to signal he and Hodgins are in danger and she races over to save them.

Galra keith headcannons?

I have so many requests to do this week- NFAKJN so, I'll do this one first. Thank you for the question!! - I'll do this as full Galra Keith so he was most likely raised by his mother, taken away from Earth. He's still half but more Galra characteristics showed in his birth so Krolia thought it was better if she took him and raised him in the blade. - I always give him a long tail with a bit of fluff at the end, I just think it's cute and it would be great to see Keith with more Galra characteristics, not just his teeth, eyes, skin, or ears changing. - Have y'all seen Ikimaru's Galra Keith design?

^ Basically this absolute bean <3 - I love the idea of him having lavender/soft-purple skin. Just the idea of it matches so well and contrasts with his otherwise dark color palette.

- Krolia eyes. His eyes are like Krolia's, except maybe a bit darker. But I just love the idea of him being a mini-me of his mother. - Keith's teeth, specifically his canines, grow slightly when he is mad or feels strong emotions. - Since I'm doing this as full Galra Keith. His hair is much longer and grows a lot faster too, I would love to say he keeps it that length but no. Whenever it grows, he cuts it off and makes it into his fucking mullet again.

- I love the idea of Galra's being cat-like. Purring, chirping, or mewling if they were pleased or even just sleeping... it gives them such a cute aspect to the otherwise "evil" Galra most people know. So like.. imagine Keith just sleeping and purring in his sleep. That's just the image I wanted to see.

- I'm also gonna add some Krolia + Baby Keith headcanons here: When Krolia first brought her new kit back to the blade, she couldn't leave him alone at all as Keith would cry until she was back at his side once more.

- Baby Keith loved being held by his mom around the headquarters and whenever she tried to put him down, he would cry and cling to her like any other kit would. (Is it obvious I wanna talk more about Galra kits and their whole deal?)

Anyways. I probably could think of so many more headcanons but I legit have no brain space to think this early in the morning so yeah <3
