But this and Catastrophe Crow are sitting with the same issue where if a certain amount of time goes by and nobody is picking up on the clue, and you would really like for them to, I think it's OK to give a small nudge to point people in the right direction.

In my opinion, that doesn't count as spoon-feeding or spoiling. Sometimes, the creator just makes a logical leap an inch too far for people to connect the pieces, and a little help ends up being necessary.

In this specific case for Local 58 however, his mere admission that something blatant has been glossed over does count as a helpful hint and is possibly all someone would need to get the ball rolling again.

Had a minor health scare, and actually went in for a flu then Covid-19 test. Negative on both counts, but while I was in quarantine I had to file for FMLA, which among a few other things meant that I was not legally allowed to do anything related to the Splintersmith. My day job's draconian medical leave contract states that if any work is done for a different business - including a self-owned one - during the time of a medical leave, it would be taken as an indication that I was resigning from my position.⁣ ⁣ So, no updates. No work. Nothing. I wasn't going to give them an opening.⁣ ⁣ BUT now that I have the all clear I'm back in the shop. Years and years ago I got into listening to people playing Dungeons & Dragons. I started with the Acquisitions Incorporated crew, then listened to the Adventure Zone, and finally settled on Acq Inc C-Team. After listening to them for over a year and doing a little fan art, I decided to make a short comic about one of the characters.

This is my fan comic about the Dragonborn narcissist, Donaar Blit’zen. This comic takes place immediately preceding the events of the first episode. You don’t need to know anything about the characters to get the story. I hope you enjoy!

I'm going through and re-lettering the entire gosh darn comic for a rerun in 2020, which also includes re-formatting the cover art a little (and also renaming one of the issues, because I felt like it). It's been a long time since I sat and read #JumpLeads, but this story and these characters were such a big part of my life and my journey from the UK to the US. They went from a never-produced BBC series to a comic that ran for five years that I am still - still! - immensely proud of. I've talked a lot about bringing these characters back, and it's still on the cards. Things I'd forgotten: - The second issue was rewritten from scratch in early 2007, which is good because the original script bore a stunning resemblance to the #DoctorWho episode "42" which aired later that year (dodged a bullet there!). - I went to painful efforts to name every character after a writer, actor or director known for working in the scifi genre to the point that I looked up names I might like and consequently don't remember them all. - I named a character in what ended up being our last issue after @krisstraub. He was supposed to be a recurring character across the next four issues, but they never got made. - There's an unproduced script by Andrew Taylor that delightfully skewers Sliders.
