Surya’s Child ❤︎
Yamuna had seen it all.
From the princess of Surya-loka, to the ascetic lass who wandered in and around the verdant forests that besieged her banks where settled a village of cowherds. Kalindi was death's twin, the daughter of the solar god, and a darling younger sister to the god of justice. Once bedecked in all fineries and jewels and celebrated amongst her devotees for her piety, she was now draped in a garb meant for unmarried women though saffron in hue, rudrakshas and jasmine blooms sitting in wreaths and garlands on her slender physique. Her jet black tresses mostly were held back in a bun, a fallacy that kept unwanted attention away when she pulled up the farce of being ordinary and roamed among her children.
An immortal goddess, the one who was foolish enough to abandon the riches and go after a lord whom she had once fallen for, they would say. She was as chaotic and pervasive as her waters were, flooding and bringing destruction when even attempted to be dishonoured. Her complexion resembled that of the butter thief lad who played the flute with the other rustic boys and had long relinquished the vraja she poured life into. Yamuna had not stopped him, she couldn't, but aeons first and now years of wait and agitation told her that she probably should have.
"Jiji, why don't you just tell him?" Nasatya had frowned, enthroning his head on her lap, a distinct melancholy in his almond eyes that resembled hers. "Besides, had he really cared…he would have come to you by now."
"Hush, munchkin!" She chuckled, a great distraction to her lovelorn heart as the elder of her twin baby brothers pouted at the address. "You must not speak of him thus. We are not having this discussion."
"But—"
"Shh! I am not coming back, and you know it." She staunchly shook her head and brushed her alta-smeared lotus palms over his eyes, a gesture for him to rest them shut. "Moreover, I am here because I want to. He is nowhere to be held responsible for my whims and resolve."
And of course, he didn't have to. Love isn't always returned now, is it?
"Even if it would take another lifetime, I'd be unbudged," she says, "I'd give you all of me and all that I can offer, darling. But alas, it's only this heart that I had a right on, and you have it now.
Neither golds and silvers, nor silks weaved brocade and tapestry. Only I come to you, would you still want me?"
Maybe Nasatya was right. Maybe Dasra would be upset with her for another millennium. Perhaps Surya would no longer hold her close to his heart and shower her with unbridled love. Probably Sangya and Chhaya were more than appalled, she had agonised them more than they deserved. And Shani…well, he did have a temper but a cute one. But he did go on and around visiting her once in a while; bringing berries sometimes, bouquets the other. He too, had been impishly outraged by the sheer audacity. But who was she fraught with? The art of exasperating people had to be the loveliest of all!
"It's all that I had ever desired, beloved." She finds her Kanhaai speaking from beside, their hands intertwined as he brings them to his lips and kisses her knuckles, and the back of her palm, her forehead and her heated jaws and fuchsia tinted cheeks. The peacock feather tucked in his diadem lilts with his heart where she resides. The Shrivatsa insignia gleams in exuberance. SangyaNandini giggles at the funny feeling which somersaults in her tummy, leaning and basking against the warmth his mere presence itself effortlessly exudes as they saunter into the territory of Khandava.
"Oh yes? But I had butter for you. You know, I thought it had to be the condition of espousing you."
"Really, Yamunae! Where?!"
Yamuna laughs, yet again. And Madhava looks at her for a moment, adoring the smile that had her bimba like lips stretching from ear to ear. He tugs at her veil mischievously and deliberately, demanding, "Maakhan, Priyae! Where is it?"
"Oh well you see—" She makes an utterly naive face and points at her lips, where she does have some traces of the butter she had received from her devotee as an affectionate offering. Kalindi's Keshava raises an eyebrow, leans and seeks consent before capturing them in a soft kiss that grows passionate with each passing moment and cradles her, so full of love and yearning - the feeling which once gnawed at her. She feels his midnight black curls against her fingers as they roam around in them, desperately clinging to him, and yet blushing tomatoes at the act.
They cross the rest of the distance with her in his robust arms, swayed off her feet quite literally.

When Shri Krishna used to play his flute, the cowherds and cows used to come running towards him.
Saint Maluk Das Ji has told that once my Satguru Kabir Ji played his flute on the banks of river Yamuna, on hearing which the gods of heaven, sages and people from nearby areas came running towards him and the water of Yamuna (Kalandri) also stopped.

observed a fast during the ekadashi, he entered the waters of the Yamuna the following night to perform ablutions, disregarding the fact that it was a period of the day that was reserved for the asuras. He was captured by an asura who served Varuna, the god of water, and took him to his underwater realm. Having heard that his foster-father had been taken captive, Krishna reassured his community of the former's safety, and sought an audience with Varuna. Delighted at the sight of Krishna, Varuna offered his obeisance, as well as apologies for his servant's actions, and returned Nanda from his abode.
Astonished at the sight of Varuna's abode as well as his foster-son's actions, Nanda conveyed this incident to the people of Gokulam, who determined that Krishna must be Ishvard.

In an episode, Nanda and all the people of Vraja undertook a pilgrimage to a site named Ambika Vana, where they worshipped Shiva and Parvati, and bathed in the Sarasvati river. They spent the night at the banks of the river. A huge python started to swallow Nanda, having caught hold of his leg. Hearing his cries for help, Krishna and the cowherds arrived to rescue him. Greetings! I'm new to your blog and this is my first ask!
Can I have a Lord Krishna x Beautiful!Shy!Gopi reader oneshot where the Reader and Sri Krishna are just spending time with eachother? Some fluff? Pls?
*sips in motivation drink to write this and not keep the story inside my head*
A/n: Here both Krishna and Y/n are older like maybe around 16 or 17 but according to various texts, Krishna left Vrindavan as a child. I obviously deviated from canon to write this.
It had been a week since Y/n and her family had relocated to Vrindavan from Barsana. As much as she loved her childhood home, she couldn't help but fall in love with Vrindavan too. The lush forests, beautiful flower bushes whose fragrance could be smelt miles away, the sparkling Yamuna river flowing in all her grace, the green pastures for the cows and the abundance of the pious Tulsi in Vrindavan had made her fall in love with the place.
She was yet to make some friends with the maidens from the town. Her mother had told her that to socialise with the other females, she had to only go to the river at in the morning and evenings when all of them would come there to fill their pots with water for their homes. The previous week did not give her much time to step out of the house, and she herself did not want to go alone to avoid any chances of losing her way back home.
But today, she had decided to step out and take a round to see the town. Coincidentally, her mother had asked her to get some flowers for the sandhya aarti in the Gauri temple. The temple was situated in the centre of the town where almost everyone would gather for worship. Y/n's family too decided to take part in the puja.
Swinging her basket in her wrist, she walked inside the forest. Her mother had told her where to find the flower bushes that weren't very deep inside the forest. Being alone in the forest, she slid her dupatta from her shoulder and let it fly with the gentle breeze that blew around her. She took a deep breath and smelt the beautiful fragrance of the wildflowers and a smile teased its way on her lips.
From a distance, she could hear a gentle tinkling sound of bells and hooves. The men in Vrindavan were mostly cow herders. The sun was soon to go away and make way for the moon and stars. By evening, all the cow herders would come back home after feeding their cattle.
Y/n took a right turn as instructed by her mother and found the flower bushes. The bushes were filled with fresh jasmine flowers, beautiful roses, large hibiscus flowers, yellow marigolds that looked like the bright sun and soft white Palash flowers. She ran her fingers over the jasmine flowers and plucked some of them and placed them in her basket. Plucking two large red hibiscus flowers, she gently placed them in her basket. Bending down to the roses, she closed her eyes and took in their fragrance when she heard a voice.
'Who are you? I haven't seen you here before.'
Y/n immediately turned back and her eyes fell on a lovely sight. In front of her stood a boy with a complexion like the dark sky during the monsoon season. His curly hair fell just to his shoulders which made her think of the night sky. However, it was the boy's eyes that gathered most of her attention.
His eyes possessed a beautiful curve and as he blinked, his eye lashes gently touched one other which made Y/n think of a butterfly flapping its wings. Those eyes possessed a tender look which made her feel lost in them.
Could a mere gaze make one feel so many different things? This boy's gaze did. With his gentle fluttering lashes, Y/n's heart skipped a beat.
Blisfully unaware that she was staring at him, the boy waved his long slender fingers in front of her face, effectively bringing her back to the present.
'Earth to you, beautiful one,' said, the boy, in a sweet cheerful voice. 'I asked you a question before, but you did not answer.'
'Oh, yes... I am sorry. I got los-. Never mind, I am new to the town, so you never saw me before,' said, Y/n who was deeply flustered. Composing herself, she closed her eyes for a second and then looked up to him confidently. 'May I know your name? I don't know much people here.'
'I am Krishna. And you are?'
'Nice to meet you, Krishna. I am Y/n from Barsana.'
Krishna. The way she spoke his name made his heart flutter in his chest. He had seen a glimpse of her in the flower bushes when he and his friends passed through it. He knew everyone in Vrindavan but was curious about the new girl, so he had asked his friends to go home without him.
Y/n too had curly hair like him which was tied into a loose bun. Some of her curls had come out of the bun but she looked beautiful even then. In between her eyebrows was a red bindi and her eyes were lined with kohl, highlighting them more. Her dupatta was loosely draped around her shoulder, some of it was even brushing on the soft soil of the forest.
'Lovely to meet you too, Y/n. May I ask why are you here in the forest at this time? It gets dark soon here and you are new to know your way around the forest,' said, Krishna.
Adjusting her dupatta, Y/n answered him with a friendly smile, "Oh, don't worry about that. My mother wanted some flowers for the sandhya aarti today. She had told me before hand about these flower bushes. These aren't very deep in the forest so I can easily find my path out of the forest. With time, I will explore the forest more. It's such a lovely place.'
Krishna walked to a rose bush beside her and plucked one of them, his thumb caressed the red flower petals. 'In that case, I think, I will see you again at the temple.' His eyes went to the flower in his hand. Gently raising the flower, he turned his gaze towards Y/n and said, 'We have met just now and every friend I make, I always leave a small token of friendship with them. I would like to give you something too.'
A bashful smile on her lips, eyes slightly to the side, she nodded, saying, 'Umm I won't mind it. You are my first friend here.'
'Even better!' exclaimed Krishna, as a bright look flashed in his eyes. Bringing the flower to his lips, his lips kissed the flower ever so gently and with a smile, he brought the rose near her hair and whispered, 'May I?'
'Yes, you may,' muttered, Y/n, fiddling with the embroidered border of her dupatta.
Krishna entwined the rose bloom in her bun, his fingers expertly moved with the curls to keep the flowers in place. Y/n's heart sped up realizing their close proximity. She could smell the fragrance emitted by the flower garland he wore around his neck. The flowers brushed against her arm, a cool sensation crept on her skin.
'Roses suit your hair. I hope you will wear them more often,' said Krishna, stepping back to look at his work. He liked how the rose adorned her hair. She looked more lovelier with the rose in her dark hair.
His fingers swiftly plucked a fistful of Parijata flowers and placed them in her basket.
'I should take your leave now, Y/n. See you in the temple.'
Krishna walked away from her with an elegant gait. His feet were pinkish with some of the dust from the soils of the Vrindavan forest. His fingers twirled a flute around them and with a whistle he was walking out of the forest. Y/n couldn't help but admire his retreating form and wondered how could such a beautiful being exist on earth.
'Bhuvan sundara Krishna,' she smiled to herself and touched the Parijata flowers which Krishna had given her.
As she made her way out of the forest, her thoughts were filled with Krishna. His magnetic eyes, beautiful smile, his elegant gait and his gentle voice. Had the Gods created him to be their most perfect creation?
She would never know that. But she had her days to admire this handsome lad of Vrindavan and get to know more about him.
***
I guess I slightly deviated from the request but I don't know my mind wanted to write something like this. I hope this was upto your expectation.

(George Harrison stands behind Pandit Ravi Shankar. Natalya Sazanova is in the extreme right.)
The article is about the time when George went to Vrindavan to learn Hindi.
My favourite bits from the article:
On an otherwise uneventful day in Vrindavan in 1974, Natalya Sazanova, a Russian Indologist with a deep interest in Hinduism, was introduced to a “charming young” Englishman by sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar.
“He had an absolute talent,” Sazanova said. While most of her students took about six years to master conversational Hindi, the Beatle managed to learn well in just four months of “irregular” classes. “George grasped the spoken language on the fly. He particularly learnt bhajans fast and sang them.”
Sazanova was also mesmerised with how George mastered the sitar so quickly. “I was so impressed that I asked him, ‘George, what do you do for a living.’ He was terribly embarrassed [by that time, he was world famous]. He said, ‘Actually, I’m a professional musician.’” She added that Ravi Shankar smiled when he heard this.
Tumblr media
George Harrison with Pandit Ravi Shankar.
Back in Moscow, she shared her photographs from her time in Vrindavan and then came the excitement. “Oh My God! This is Harrison,” a student screamed. The students then went on explain who the English musician learning Hindi was.
Harrison never spoke of his fame or international stature during those four months. Once their lessons were over, he wrote a small note in Sazanova’s diary. “I was extremely happy to meet you. You made a tremendous impression on me. God Bless You.”
The teacher, completely ignorant of her student’s fame, asked him to keep a small concert, to which he agreed. “One of the concerts that George and Shankar arranged for several friends, including me, was on a moonlit night in a deserted spot on the banks of the Yamuna River,” Sazanova said. “It was simply amazing. The three of them played—Ravi Shankar, George and an Indian flautist—and I hadn’t heard anything like it before.”
Harrison did not forget his Hindi teacher after he went back to the West. He sent Sazanova a book about Krishna, where he had written the preface. The preface ends with words familiar to each and every fan of the Beatles: ‘Give peace a chance. All you need is love.’

Leaf from a Dispersed Bhagavata Purana Series, 1760-1765, Brooklyn Museum: Asian Art
Leaning on his staff at the right, Krishna observes the seven expressionless poisoned cowherds and four motionless cattle arrayed in a single flat plane across a lifeless landscape. At the top, a band of value and a wide expanse of yellow streaked with red, blue, and gold, and a band of stylized clouds indicate the sky; gray waters are shown in the foreground. This narrative scene from the Bhagavata Purana [(Bk. 10, Ch. 15, vv. 48-50)] illustrates an episode in Krishna's life when the hero miraculously restores to life his boyhood friends, the cowherds, and their cows, which in this scene are shown dying from drinking the dark brown, poisoned waters of the Yamuna. There were many Bhagavata Purana sets painted in the Punjab Hill states. This page is from the so-called "fifth Bhagavata Purana series" (Archer 1973: vol. 1, p.49-51 and vol. 2 Basohli no. 22.) Archer points to the sparse and open compositions as indicative of the transitional phase of Guler-Basohli style painting, reflecting the influence of Mughal painting of the 1750s. In catalogue: Scene from the 10th and 11th Chapter of the "Bhagavata Purana" (which describes Krishna's life among the cowherds) showing the Blue God Krishna (at right) with the cowherds (gopas) and cows lying on the shores of the Ganges which had been poisoned. It is an episode in which Krishna miraculously revives the gopas and cows. Condition: Excellent. Arrived unmatted. Size: Sheet): 11 7/8 x 15 7/8 in. (30.2 x 40.3 cm) Image: 9 3/16 x 13 3/16 in. (23.3 x 33.5 cm) Medium: Opaque watercolors and gold on paper

krishna and rukmini for that otp thing? also, krishna and satyabhama? (sorry, i love her)
Big mistake, Jag. Medha is going to eat your head now, and you can’t do anything about it. [Under the cut because the OTP ship meme is long af. I took the liberty to not answer questions I felt were redundant or irrelevant, but this is still quite big.] Thank you, little brother, for bettering my mood.
Krishna x Rukmini
Rate the Ship - Awful | Ew | No pics pls | I’m not comfortable | Alright | I like it! | Got Pics? | Let’s do it! | Why is this not getting more attention?! | The OTP to rule all other OTPs
How was their first kiss? – What, you expect me to write out a fairly NSFW scene here? Not happening, bro; you’re a minor.
Who proposed? – Rukmini. (Canon, lol.)
Who did the most planning? - …Balarama, for the wedding. Rukmini and Krishna both, for the…pre-wedding rituals (otherwise known as “abduction”).
Who stressed the most? – Balarama. Sigh.
Rukmi stressed back there, in the outskirts of Vidarbh, trying to devise ways to disrupt the wedding and kill Krishna, so that he could return to Vidarbh as the crown prince after all. #missionfailure
How fancy was the ceremony? - Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big. Fit for a Goddess, and more besides. Perhaps not so much in ostentation levels, but the songs and revelry of the Yadavas in their new (and less than magical) headquarters reached the very peaks of the Himalayas.
Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? – Er, the bride’s family?
Who is the one to instigate things? (yeah, they’re speaking of sex) - Both. They don’t really pay attention to who “started” it. As far as they are concerned, they don’t know where one ends and the other begins. (Yes, I did that. Fight me.) If you want me to be real mathematical and go by the average (and be less poetic, for the sake of the ship, Medha!), then: Krishna in private, Rukmini in public. The princess of Vidarbh is generally known as a considerate woman, and won’t traumatise you. It’s all very subtle, aankhon ki gustakhiyan type, only they do it so much better. They would laugh at the video: “amateurs”.
Who is the stricter parent? – Neither really, but perhaps Rukmini, comparatively. Both of them have issues with authority.
Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? – Most of you will disagree hotly, but Krishna. At least publicly. You cannot trace his kids back to him, unless you feel mischief is a genetic trait. While temperament is influenced by genetics to a considerable extent, it cannot be said-- I will stop.
Who is the more loved parent? – Haha, both. But the kids will choose their sides when they need something specific. Very situation-dependent. The Yadavas are opportunistic intelligent like that. <3
Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? – Both if the law is stupid. Neither if the children were stupid.
Who is more likely to suggest going out? – Krishna.
Who cleans the room? – Rukmini, I guess, speaking of just moving stuff around (you mean organisation, Medha) rather than actual “cleaning”. Krishna isn’t messy, but there is almost always an angavastra here and a signet ring there.
Who is really against chores? – Neither, really. Both will do what is required of them.
Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? – Krishna, to a small extent. He does it for the time being, always coming back to sort stuff out when the coast is clear. (I took it as a metaphorical question, disregarding that it was categorised under “chores”, because I can be like that.)
Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? – Rukmini would (bad childhood experiences), but that depends on who the guests are. Considering Dwaraka’s selectivity regarding such things, she doesn’t have much to worry about.
Who takes the longer showers/baths? – Krishna. It is a habit he cannot break (though he doesn’t take more than 25 mins) from his childhood days, bathing (read: playing) for hours sometimes, in the waters of Yamuna.
Who plays the most pranks? – Krishna, but it is nothing like his childhood days. Vasudev says he has been ‘tamed’. Balarama and Rukmini and Arjuna and Satyabhama and Draupadi and Satyaki and...well, people he’s closest to know how untrue that is, but after years of suffering, they let the older generation live in peace. Swarga knows the Kuru elders don’t get the same courtesy, and DwArAkA iS bEtTeR.
-
Krishna x Satyabhama
Rate the Ship - Awful | Ew | No pics pls | I’m not comfortable | Alright | I like it! | Got Pics? | Let’s do it! | Why is this not getting more attention?! | The OTP to rule all other OTPs The one ship I hardly ever get to see as I wish. No published author has managed it. People are rather polarised on this particular ship, I think. For the best portrayals I have read till date, see @avani008, @walburgablack and @allegoriesinmediasres.
How long will they last? - *shrugs* As long as they want to.
How was their first kiss? – Hesitant, careful, both wishing they could read each other’s minds.
Who proposed? – Satyabhama’s father, lol. Canonically, not a love marriage.
Who did the most planning? – Satrajit.
Who stressed the most? – Satrajit and Balarama. They competed on stress (and animosity) levels.
Who is on top? – Does it matter, really? They’re good.
Who is the one to instigate things? – Satyabhama.
Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? – Again, Krishna, because Satyabhama is even laxer than Rukmini and someone has to maintain appearances before the people (read: Rohini).
Who is the more loved parent? – Satyabhama, by that inch.
Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? – Satyabhama is like “if they got caught, they deserved to learn the lesson”. Krishna often finds himself agreeing. (Now, whether the lesson is about breaking the law or getting caught is entirely dependent on the situation.)
Who is more likely to suggest going out? – Satyabhama in times of peace. Krishna in times of strife. [Otherwise Satyabhama is sure to put an arrow in someone’s butt... but the issue is not that. It is that Krishn would agree. Low tolerance for stupidity.]
Who is really against chores? – Satyabhama.
Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? – Satyabhama doesn’t sweep anything under the rug.
Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? – Krishna. (Nah, only in comparison. Satyabhama can’t be bothered. One time that Narada came to visit, she didn’t even come out of her bedroom. At least Krishna cares enough to say hi.
What are their goals for the relationship? – Reached.

The Alphabet Aesthetic Challenge (Again)
Below the cut is a listing of the alphabet. Please send me a letter of the alphabet that hasn’t been chosen yet and a female character from Indian mythology or epics (the obscure the better, whether from this list or your own knowledge) whose name starts with that letter, and I’ll make an graphic (+/- brief fic) celebrating her!
If possible, please put your requests in the comments to this post, so everyone can (hopefully) see it--but this is all very informal, so even if there are duplicate letters, that’s fine. There’s a list of already completed ladies at the bottom of this, that can also be browsed HERE!

SHIVA
36”X 25”  K3 Pigment Print on Hahnemuhle Museum Etching Archival Paper
Limited Edition Exclusive Digital Artworks - 1/10 + 2 artist prints
Gentle and limpid, like a rivers’ flow, this languid female form is none other than the most masculine of gods: Siva, appearing here as gopika or divine milk maid, ready to take part in Krishnas’ famed raas lila. As always the myths beguile – seemingly simple tales are prismic gateways to a wonderland of symbolism. The sublime strains of Krishnas’ flute stir Siva into joining the raas lila or dance that Krishna, the god of love, enjoys with his bevy of gopis in Vrindavan. As no male can enter Vrindavan, Siva dips himself into the waters of the Yamuna and emerges a beautiful maiden and the two gods dance. Radha points out a subtle otherness in the atmosphere and is told by Krishna who the new dancer is – “He is Lord Siva,”says Krishna, “my teacher. You wouldn’t want me to ask him to leave, would you?” In another variation, Kali has the urge to dance with the gopikas. Taking the form of Krishna, a fellow dark god, she has a wonderful time with the gopis. Siva, missing his consort, enters Vrindavan as Radha and dances with her. What a wonderful world. A world of variation and abundance - for that is what Vrindavan means – a fluid, flowing world where gods slip in and out of different sexual forms, dance, love, celebrate pleasure, enjoy beauty. The gopis - no ordinary beings, are milk maids – nature herself, provider of the milk of life and Vrindavan – where all things exist is perceivable only to those free of familial ties, of outlandish moral constructs, of self – for only they are unburdened enough to live life in its fullness and multitude, and light enough to dance to its rhythms. Here Siva the Nataraj, the supreme dancer who dances the cosmos into existence and destruction dances or plays for that is what lila means - with the god of love and the cosmos is animated into being.

Hiiiii I love your writings😭😭. I know Krishavyayam is much more popular but Adrika Ayuktam has my heart💖.
I assume Dhruvi is not your real name so what made you choose this name to use it here?? Again, I love your writings so much even the one chapter ones: Krishna x Yamuna, Satyabhamadhvam (it was so good I can't even-). The only way I can describe your writing is ✨pretty✨
Lots of Love❤❤❤- From me and our darling Kanhaai *wink wink😏😏*
I'm sorry but the very first part of this message reminded me of this meme-
Tumblr media
Yeah, the decision to resurrect AA was definitely the result of a high cuz hear me out, it's not my idea. It's not even mine fully. I co-author with another writer girlie who proposed we do that because she liked my writing. It's her og idea. Anyway. Thank you for loving it as much as we do <3
Coming to the second point, yes my real name ain't Dhruvi. I had to maintain an anonymous identity back when I started writing and connecting with people via the internet so I needed something impactful. The name suggests that someone is “firm” or “determined” and that was a quality I definitely needed in me. It has worked, to an extent. My stubborn ass is here.
Thank you so so so much for all the love, sweetie. Forever grateful <3
And do tell our darling Kanhaai that I love the both of you back :P

observed a fast during the ekadashi, he entered the waters of the Yamuna the following night to perform ablutions, disregarding the fact that it was a period of the day that was reserved for the asuras.
