ok I know it's mostly a meme BUT alvar being gay would actually fit in with what we knew about his character/motivations beforehand. his entire thing was about how fitz was like a golden child while he and biana always got left out. feeling something that most of elvin society considers wrong (or at the very least weird) would make him feel even 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 out of place---and given how fitz reacts to the whole unmatchable thing ("there's never been a vacker who was a bad match" etc) it's pretty obvious that matchmaking would have been kind of forced on alvar, which would make him hate his family even more than he already did. It'd make even more sense if the neverseen were chill with gay people and that was the first place he felt accepted (ruy x alvar omg). anyway all that to say gay alvar will probably never be canon but 𝘪𝘧 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 I feel like it would make sense.

hands down my favorite interaction between the council and anyone else besides sophie is when grady made them all slap themselves in the face at the same time (truly iconic, luv u king)

but

every time i think about that part during alvar’s tribunal when fallon walked in, halted the entire proceedings literally just by his mere presence, and like the first thing he did was look at alina and make that little comment about hearing wedding bells? jaw. dropped.

and then alina immediately comes back with that bit about “well it worked out for the best” or whatever and gestured to her councillor throne? the pettiness. hilarious.

no cuz i know if i was sophie i would not have been able to keep it together. i would have been laughing so hard. it makes me cackle every time i think about it. the pettiness is truly unmatched. i love it.

(if I had to throw in my two cents, I’d say that I like his redemption arc and attempts to be a normal human, and no, I DON’T think that keefe trusted him too fast, and yes I DO think it’s normal that he’d eventually trust him despite alvar’s past actions. And yes this IS influenced by the fact that pancakes are my favorite food and the blatant evidence that alvar is so gay) (also have to mention the fact that I never expected to draw alvar before I’ve drawn fitz)

tired: alvar always saw keefe as a close friend/younger brother figure and was nice to him because of that

wired: alvar sees befriending fitz's ex bestie as a form of subtle revenge

i get where everyone talking abt how keefe was too soon to get chill with alvar is coming from but also consider keefe hasnt talked to anyone from his world other than his dad in like weeks or months idk, his mental health and empathy is all over the place and his moral compass was probably pretty flexible

alvar hating aldens “no reason to worry” catchphrase actually makes so much sense to me. cause like imagine young alvar crying about something and going to his dad and being told there’s “no reason to worry”. it would feel like his dads just brushing off or ignoring his problems because they’re no big deal.

the fact that alden was probably working a lot during alvars childhood too
