Narusasu is cute and all but let’s not forget the original boykissers of Konoha 😔

Even as a child with negative brain cells I knew there was something really special about those two.

I just got to say, because I’ve been sitting on this for a while, I don’t think I ship Buddie (9-1-1) because of the Destiel (SPN) pipeline. I think I’m a Buddie shipper because of Izumo and Kotetsu from Naruto.

It’s these two that started it all

Surnames

One day while the boys lounge around the standby station during their free time, Tae brings up how it must be nice for Izumo to have such a cool surname. He asks him to clarify but Tae's unable to really explain, "God Moon" just sounds cool.

Kotetsu agrees when Izumo pushes back, instinctively holding his tongue from gushing too much about how much he likes Izumo's family name - about how maybe he'd like to take it one day.

Tae mentions that Kotetsu's surname is cool too, giving him an out from potentially saying something he's not supposed to, and says that "Steel" portrays someone strong-willed. Even his given name, Kotetsu - feels like whoever named him - had good things in mind for their son.

Kotetsu leans back, asking if he really thought so. Izumo's gaze followed his partner's movements with a rueful smile; neither of them remembered who their parents were - too young to recognize their faces and too busy being shuffled off between distant relatives and halfway houses during wartime to really care.

"Wait, isn't yours Inuzuka, like Hyou?"

Tae shakes his head at Kotetsu's question.

"Only on the registry for paperwork reasons. It's easier that way since the old man didn't have a surname either."

Between jokes of how Tae would look with an appearance more like his older canid sibling, mentions of how nice Gen-nii's surname was and how Tae could never take it, to the heavy weight Kakashi had to carry because of his father's; everyone came to the conclusion that their relationships to surnames was probably a little more complicated than that.

But in addition to this, Yamato stepped into view with an apology for eavesdropping, "If it's any consolation, I don't have one either."

Smiling as he took a seat next to Tae, Kotetsu and Izumo immediately huddled up between one another to nosily gossip whether or not the jonin were flirting with each other.
