manager or rather... mom?
request: hello! can i ask general headcanons about being rakuzan female manager and analysts specialist like momoi?
# tags: headcanon; rakuzan!au; menager!y/n; friendship; lil bit of comedy, fluff; sfw
includes: female reader ft. rakuzan basketball team {knb}
author’s note: i really like au’s where reader is the team manager!!
Tumblr media
→ before you became a manager ←
↘ Let’s start with the fact that to be a manager of the Rakuzan basketball team you have to be really really smart. You need to have above-average math skills and a good knowledge of the sport to help the squad with their daily training plan and to provide them with a good night’s sleep place during their trips or sport competitions.
↘ They are definitely looking for someone who won’t only fill their bottles with fresh, cool water, but most of all, they’re looking for someone who will write down even the slightest mistake in their passes, throws, moves and every weakness or good quality they have.
↘ Therefore, it’s a canon that Akashi will pay attention to you when you take first place tied with him after the first important exams. Your knowledge of school subjects surprised him because – second canon – he had never met another person as capable as he was.
↘ He decided to observe you during the first few days to see if you had anything more to offer than just knowledge in science and humanities.
↘ It was a another huge surprise for Seijuurou that you also knew sports. In this case, it was volleyball.
↘ You didn’t attend any club activities, but you were very good at it during PE lessons when you played with other girls from your own class. You also oversaw the entire game and acted literally like the captain of one of the two teams.
↘ It lit a little, bright light in his red head. He thought it would be nice to have a new, girly manager.
↘ Later that day, when girls’ PE lesson was over, Akashi was waiting for you outside the locker room to introduce himself and offer you a ‘job’ on his basketball team.
↘ At first you were unsure about it, saying that you had never played basketball, but the team captain only smiled as he put his warm hand on your tiny shoulder.
↘ “Someone like you can handle anything, Miss Y/L/N.”
↘ Well. You had to agree. There was no other option.
→ after becoming a manager ←
↘ It took you less than a week (including the weekend) to get to know the entire Rakuzan team and their coach. And also all the positions of all members of the first squad and each subsequent one.
↘ However, you didn’t come here for friendship or romance, but surprisingly you quickly caught a common language with the boys who really welcomed you warmly and began to call you as their ‘girl’, whom they must protect. What a cuties.
↘ You definitely liked talking to Chihiro about books and music.
↘ Nebuya, on the other hand, always took you to a burger bar. And obviously, as a gentleman, he always paid for the two of you.
↘ Nevertheless, your friendship ended with the first whistle from the trainer who announced the start of training.
↘ After this whistle, you became a strict manager who wrote in the notebook everything that the captain and Mr. Shirogane asked for.
↘ Naturally, you were still giving them cold water, fresh towels, and even as a thank you, you would bring them home-made cookies or fresh fruit from the grocery store.
↘ However, you were still rigorous and the boys were surprised that there is so much self-confidence and domination in such a small body like yours.
↘ You pointed out their mistakes without fear, you said what they did wrong, you said what they did right and what they should stick to. Of course, you analyzed many recordings of their matches and of their opponents’ games, listing every important detail in points in your big, colorful notebook.
↘ Seijuurou really couldn’t have made a better choice because at one moment your determination and natural talent seemed to outweigh what Momoi was doing for him and rest of Teikou team.
↘ However, unlike Satsuki, you weren’t so delicate and emotional.
↘ Especially when the captain was about to leave the gym to go home. You just noticed that Akashi never helped clean the gym. You didn’t like lazy people who run away from their responsibilities.
↘ “Akashi-kun?” You called quietly to him that day, getting up from the wooden bench with the notebook and the pen Reo had bought for you two days ago.
↘ “Yes, Y/N?”
↘ “I wonder...” You started, turning the pages and showing him the cleaning schedule for this month. “Today it’s your turn to clean the floor, and once again you will come out as first. Did something happen? Should I put your name on a different date?”
↘ The red-maroon head laughed softly, drawing the attention of the other team members. “I’m the captain. I don’t think it’s my responsibility to cleaning the gym.”
↘ “So you aren’t doing anything important today?”
↘ “Well, no.”
↘ “Oh, that’s great. So clean the room like the rest of the team and the first graders.” You smiled at him as you turned and walked back to the bench where you always sat watching the team practice. “Being a captain doesn’t mean anything, you know? The King who rules a state in time of war also stands on the battlefield to fight.” You laughed under your breath. “The mops are in the storage room on the left, in case you forgot about it. Thank you and good luck.” You added at the end.
↘ The rest of the team looked exactly like Pikachu in that one, meme picture.
↘ Seijuurou too, because his face showed a huge disbelief that someone had decided to give him an order.
↘ Him. An order.
↘ However... on the other hand it was an interesting experience. Worth to remembering for the future.
↘ At this point, he thought once again that he couldn’t have chosen a better manager for his team than you. He really liked you and even thanked you afterwards, though it sure sounded very monotonous and cold.
↘ But, you knew him well enough to feel a little bit of gratitude in his voice.
↘ Plus, after finishing cleaning the gym, Kotarou was the first to give you a high-five and said that ‘It was really super extra cool, Y/N-chan!’
↘ To sum up: You are good and hardworking manager and a voice of reason for the whole Rakuzan team. Thanks to you, the basketball squad is doing much better and everyone are really happy about it.

yandere!hayama kotaro
for anon who asked "For the yandere event Hayama pretty please đŸ„ș"
so on the surface, you’d think he’s a good boyfriend, right? (well, good as far as yanderes go)
he’s especially excitable when it comes to you
he’ll listen to you talk about your hobbies for hours, eyes shining, getting so happy about it it’s like those hobbies are his own
just seeing you every morning gets him bouncing around, bombarding you with questions and comments: “how did you sleep? i bet you missed me, right? you definitely missed me. hey, can i stay over at yours tonight? you know what i dreamt about? you. yeah i dreamt about you. what about you?” and on it goes
(for the record, he asks all these questions but never lets you get a word in edgeways)
loves when you praise him more than anything else - to an unhealthy extent
if you tell him how cool he looked doing a certain skateboard trick, he’ll keep demanding you say it again and again and again, jumping around, getting way too close to your personal space, starting to shake you, shoving you in excitement etc
so you keep praising him and the praise does nothing for his self control
in short, he gets very intense
remember we’re still talking about nice hayama btw
nice hayama though, with all his excitement, can be dealt with
pretty much the only time he stills is if you hug him, or let him use your lap as a pillow
he’s a clingy little chap
you talk to anyone else and he’s wrapping his arms around you (always a little too tight - has no understanding of his own strength), refusing to leave for the duration of the conversation
then in the evening, cuddling together, he shoves his face in your back and repeats endlessly, “i’m your favourite, i’m your favourite, i’m your favourite
”
hayama is a creature that acts solely on emotions; he has little to no control of his own behaviour
he’s not the most irritable of people, but he does have his triggers, and they are quick acting
can go from slightly too cheery to cold and raging in seconds
this other side of hayama is vindictive
he despises criticism from you more than anyone else - and what’s scariest is that sometimes a perfectly innocent comment from you is treated as such, as just a joke, but sometimes it sets him off
hayama’s anger is hands on. he has to feel himself injure something (whether that be punching the wall or slamming himself against you) to even start to calm down
if he’s taking a board game with you seriously, and you win?
man’s throwing the pieces across the room, storming out
cause it’s an absolute in his mind that he is the coolest, the victor, and if you dare counter that, it’s like if you had told him he was worthless, that you don’t need him
oh and stay away from him after he’s had a bad day at basketball practice, or if akashi’s been picking on him too much
sometimes, sure, he just needs a cuddle and some kisses and he’s right as rain
but sometimes, if you ask if he’s okay, he stares at you, gaze unfocused, fists still clenched and you’d better move away before his anger is taken out on the wrong person
plus, more than anything else, he cannot stand if you’ve been too friendly with someone else
again, its that hands-on rage
you could be crying, begging him to forget that you went to a classmate’s house to work on a project, but he’s seeing red
he couldn’t careless about how you feel
if he has to shove you into the wall to get past you and to said classmate to “teach him what’s what”, he will
you think he gives a shit about any casualties when his blood is up?
no.
not even if that casualty is you.

Hayama Kotaro Headcanon - If his s/o is a skater
Because my Kise headcanon already has a like, I feel motivated to post a 2nd!
-Kotaro would asbolutely go skating with you. -If you’re an inline skater, and a beginner, he’d love to help you teach new tricks. -If you’re an inline skater and a pro, he’d love to challenge you. -Indoor-skater park dates.  -Totally shows off to impress you.  -I do imagine him being somewhat of a gentleman and paying your entree money at the indoor-skater park (as long as he can afford it) considering he does seem to value manners.
-If you’re a quad skater, as he’s implied to be an inline skater, you can bet your ass the two of you would have had at least 1 discussion about which is better. -He’d definitely be convinced to go quad with you if you’d challenged him for a race though. -Once during a race, you fell and when he came to check if you were injured, you, high as a kite off of the adrenaline, pulled him in for a passionate kiss that he’ll never forget. -You can bet your ass he’ll take you to a roller disco for your first anniversary date.  -If you’re on a roller derby team, he’ll definitely come to see your matches and scream with the enthusiasm of a soccer mom which your teammates constantly tease you about.

Request is about Rakuzan manager, who is a foreigner (from Russia). She is really popular in school, because the Japanese thinks that Russian are very pretty. But she thinks that she has ordinary appearance. Besides she always does her best for the team, tries to be the best manager for them and takes care of them because of her kindness. So Rakuzan boys warm up to her slowly. And Ore-Akashi slowly started coming to his sense (he's Boku-Akashi now), because she reminds him his mother.
Hi hi hi! Even after researching to portray this accurately, I am more vague on the specificality on Russian culture, especially in a Japanese high school setting, in order to make this more relatable and applicable. Still, I took care to implement some core values/general traits you’d see in Russian society // I HOPE I DID THIS JUSTICE;;
[Rakuzan Manager f!Reader Headcanons]
you’ve always been the center of attention ever since you transferred to Rakuzan, a private school with extremely high standards
not to mention, your aura and looks completely encompasses that perfect “high-caliber student” look that every student wants so badly
so effortlessly? a lot of the students instantly took a liking to you just because of your appearances and how easily you stood out against the rest (especially in a collective society like Japan’s, where everyone is highly pressured to blend in)
but coming fresh from Russia, a society that focuses on individualism, you didn’t really see why everyone would suddenly worshipped you just because you expressed yourself freely
even so, in trying to make friends as a rare foreigner, you made sure to be kind to everyone
you made it out of your own way to always help the student council out with menial tasks, even if you weren’t a part of it, or always reached out a helping hand to other teachers, staff, and peers
so that may have shot up your popularity even more
your altruism easily reaches within earshot of Higuchi, the current 3rd-year manager of the Rakuzan’s basketball team, and he immediately soughts after you to invite you to the position of manager alongside him
after all, he’s going to graduate this year, so he wants to ensure that the team would be in good hands for the subsequent years
still, he’s quite nervous about introducing you to his
superiors, mostly because the team leadership has become quite
 scary and strict this year
Higuchi brings you along as he slowly approaches Coach Eiji and the Rakuzan captain, who were both discussing about the imminent future of the team’s starting line and debating whether or not to switch around some players
Eiji noticed you first, and after hearing Higuchi’s suggestion, he immediately recognized you from how much the teachers and his coworkers had been praising you; hence, he has no doubt about you or anything
but he turns to Akashi to hear his input
all the while, the captain has been staring silently at you
 and assessing you
“What do you think?” Eiji spoke up, glancing down to the 1st year in the corner of his eye.
“...” Akashi continues to sit with his hands clasped in front of his mouth
“It’d be an honor to become a manager for such a capable team!” you say, putting yourself into a deep bow to try to express your sincerity
“W-Wait, (y/n)-san, there’s no need to go to that extreme,” Higuchi says hurriedly, ushering you up
“S-Sorry, but I believe bows are used to express utmost deference and appeal?”
“Ahaha
only a few cases warrant a bow as deep as that.”
“Right, right! Noted
”
Akashi’s eventual sigh interrupted the both of you as he drops his hands into a more relaxed posture
“She’ll be useful. I have heard about her from other students within the student council. Shƍta, you will keep her in line, correct?”
“Of course!”
“Then there is no need for this conversation to go any longer if this is settled with no further objections?” he turns to the coach for any further comments
“Yes,” he nods in agreement. “I hope you know this team expects nothing from the best from you, even if you’re only a manager.”
. . .
so here you are, on your first day as a manager alongside Higuchi, being taught the ropes of your duties: noting players’ favorite snacks and food, making sure there’s plenty of water bottles left, changing towels if needed
these honestly felt like normal chores to you, so you didn’t feel overwhelmed at all
“W-W-Whoa!! Our new manager is a girl?—Ow, Reo-nee!”
“Sheesh, show some respect to the manager! Quit looking at her like that!”
“B-But
”
“Hello!” you waved at them, popping up right in front of them, and Hayama quickly jumps to gain some distance for himself out of shock
“The foreign transfer student?!”
“I’m a new manager here, and I hope we get along!”
“Ah
” Mibuchi turns to you with a hand on his chest and a slight bow of his head in acknowledgement. “I must compliment you on your Japanese. You speak as if you’re almost native—in fact, your way of speaking is more elegant than most people here.”
“Thank you!” you beam at him. “Yes
! I’ve worked to at least become fluent for the JLPT N2, so I’m very glad you complimented me so!”
“Reo-nee, you tell me to back off, but you’re being chummy with her right now! Ei-chan, look! Don’t you agree with me?—Wha, where did he go?”
“Who knows?” Mibuchi shrugs indifferently. “But it’s no wonder that it’s been a lot quieter around
by the way (y/n)-chan, are all Russians as striking as you? It makes me a tad bit envious that such beauty is effortless to you.”
“No, no!” you deny with a laugh. “We’re quite ordinary, you see? I think everyone has their own type of beauty to admire and appreciate.”
“Oh! Beautiful words spoken by a beautiful person! Ah
I’ve been called by Higuchi-san. I must part but I hope you’ll allow me to ask you more questions later!”
as you wave off Mibuchi with a smile, Hayama only frowns at you as he crossed his arms, irritated at the fact that you don’t seem too keen on using honorifics for the upperclassmen:
“Look, you might’ve gotten Reo-nee to approve of you, but don’t think the rest of us will be just as accommodating. We’re serious about basketball, so don’t slack off and bring us down.”
but you only turn to him with a smile before giving a slight bow before replying: “I will put 100% of my time and effort, so everyone can do their best on the courts with peace of mind!”
Hayama immediately gets flustered, not expecting such a warm response to his words and he scratches head and replies loudly, “U-Uh
yeah, just, just don’t screw it up for us.”
the first week of being manager was just like what Hayama spoke about: most of the players were wary of you because you were extremely different in how you carried yourself, or curious about you for that same reason
perhaps you were recruited out of pity?
there were a handful of teammates who were brave enough to ask you questions about your culture or personal background
Eikichi, on one hand, asked about your cuisine and whether there were “big guys” like himself that can be a challenge to his strength (you only laugh at him as you easily answer all of his questions)
“I heard the Russian men are unbelievably strong! *flexes his own biceps* Their muscle masses are rumored to be insane!”
“W-Well
it’s different for everyone, but I agree that we’re very strong-natured and have dignity for ourselves.”
“Ohh, (y/n)-chan
that must be why you stand out so much yourself!”
“Mibuchi-kun, you’re very striking yourself, you know
”
and here is Hayama petulantly huffing all the while, doubting you all the while still
“Here you go again, forgetting to add senpai after Ei-chan and Reo-nee!”
“Why should I?” You tilt your head in confusion. “Whether I add such honorifics or not doesn’t change how much I respect them, Hayama-kun.”
“It’s Hayama-senpai to you!”
“If you’re spending this much time fixated on this, then you can spend that much time practicing and showing me the skills to earn the respect you want! Come on! Chop, chop, chop!”
. . .
“Ei-chan! Don’t you get mad when (y/n) doesn’t address you properly?! Reo-nee, what about you?!”
“Huh? I’d never be mad at someone who doesn’t seem to mind me burping at all, and she never scolds me about this stuff like Reo does—”
“Who wouldn’t?! It’s gross, seriously! While I do not understand her tolerance of your vulgar manners, her eloquence and natural aura is equal to those of Sei-chan’s
so in my eyes, I see no need for her to use such honorifics.”
“HUH?! Reo-nee, but why?!”
his opinion of you only gradually changes when you never seem to snap at him back even though he’s being a little shit when you’re around
you remind him of a motherly figure
but a kind, level-headed one, which is slightly different from the naggy mother-hen (but good-intentioned) vibe Mibuchi gives off
besides, anyone with eyes can see how much you scurry around holding handfuls of towels and bottles for all the players, even for the bench players
people think it’s really odd that you’re so physically close to the teammates, especially when you link arm in arm with them or give little distance when you talk with them; as a result, a lot of speculation of “dating” and “relationships” pop up when your name is brought up
the Uncrowned Kings easily squash those rumors
Akashi’s presence alone is also enough to silence them LOL
Mibuchi is the main guy who always likes to link arms as a symbol of your shared friendship
. . .
it’s an odd relationship between you and Mayuzumi
no matter how much you call out to him, he ignores you, and no matter how much he ignores you, you still treat him the same as ever
“Stop pestering me,” Mayuzumi clicks his tongue, blatantly making the effort not to face you properly, and you finally smile, seeing that he finally acknowledged your presence
“Ah, you’re quite the blunt one, aren’t you, Mayuzumi-san?”
“If you get that, then go away.”
“Well, I can’t! You’re part of the lineup, so I am especially not going to neglect you.”
“Are you this mindless to help people like a saint and then expect everyone to adore you? As far as I’m aware, most see you as some ‘exotic’ curiosity and nothing more. And I frankly love myself too much to be associated with such people. If you’re only here out of pity, beat it. Now.”
“Well, it seems like you care enough to tell me that,” you muse, but your face hardens with a serious glint in your eye. “But heed my words when I say this Mayuzumi-san. I am not doing this to be a people-pleaser. I am doing this for myself and only myself. I want to be a good person because it is a decision I make for myself. When there is a choice of being a good person versus bad, I’ll choose to be the best version of myself at any moment. That is my own definition of self-respect. No way in hell I’m doing this because I feel sorry for you
I will complete my duty with my pride as Rakuzan’s manager on the line.”
he’s stunned at your words, and he instantly relaxes his posture before he turns to continue reading his novel on hand
 “I see.”
he actually likes the fact that your culture allows people to be more outspoken about their opinions, since he’s all too aware how the majority of his own peers are constantly worried about collective reputation and doing things for the sake of others
Mayuzumi becomes a lot more
cooperative with you from that point on
he relates to your words of having high self-respect and pride, and he’s pleasantly surprised that you actually know how to hold your own ground despite being very kind // even if he finds it weird that being a manager makes you happy
but since it’s something you do for your own sake, he can learn to respect it; after all, he reads light novels for his own happiness
imagine his unadulterated surprise when you not only brought him bottles, snacks, and a towel (that’s the part he expected from you), you slipped in new issues of the latest light novels within the towel bundle (this is what caught him off guard)
you’re suddenly seen in a good light in his eyes
. . .
it’s been almost a month since you’ve been recruited, and most of the teammates have now accepted you as one of their own, more or less, but something bothered you that you couldn’t help but ask Rakuzan’s senior manager
“Higuchi-san, don’t managers need to do some analytic work for the team statistics? It seems that all we do is mundane tasks.”
“Ah, most of the analytic work is done by Akashi.”
“But why? Does he not trust the managers with this work? Does he see us as not capable?”
“Not exactly
 he’s very
particular about ensuring the best possible strategies for victory. So far, whatever he’s been doing has earned him complete trust from the entire team and even our coach.”
“Wow
 that’s
a really impressive feat for a 1st year
”
“No one’s really surprised though. (y/n)-san you may have just transferred here so you might not know, but he was Teiko’s previous captain and the main public face of the Generation of Miracles
”
after he finished giving a crash-course on their prodigal status in the basketball world, you’re more fired up to work harder for Rakuzan as the manager
“Besides, (y/n)-san, our main duty of being a manager is to maintain the well-being of our team. All these little things add up, and surely, the team knows to appreciate these gestures from us.”
you actually later approach the Uncrowned Kings to playfully complain about why they didn’t tell you how prestigious they truly were on the courts (after learning about their status from Higuchi)
“Huh? (y/n)-nee, now you wanna show respect to your senpais, huh?”
you don’t miss the playfulness in his complaint as he tries to ruffle your hair
and also the way Hayama has recently addressed you differently
“This is different, Hayama! You have such titles under your belts because of your skills and accomplishments on the court
 that is extremely admirable!”
“D’awww, it’s nothing, really.”
of course, they all have pride in their titles, but they all immediately turn the direction of the conversation to Akashi, saying they were nothing compared to him
that only made you more curious about the captain
you actually never made conversation with him throughout the month because you were so busy with your duties and helping out everyone
but you finally decided to try to help the captain in any way
Akashi has been observing you for the entirety of your time in the team
that much is to be expected, considering that he needed to evaluate your performance and compatibility with the rest of the teammates to make sure that there is still unity even with the addition of a new person (after all
as much as he doesn’t want to admit, he is still fearful of the possibility of his team crumbling from the inside again)
the fact that you even got Mayuzumi to approve of you in his own way actually impressed him; even he himself had to be authoritative to get Mayuzumi to be cooperative on the team
it’s the little things you do that reminds him of the tickles of nostalgia, when he first played basketball with his late mother, within his mind: the way you were the only one giving positive encouragement to the players in a club filled with cutthroat competition and perfection; the way you made sure that everyone was calm and collected before they walk into the courts; the way you diligently remember and cater every care package and preference to every unique player, in addition to your minimum duties.
he unconsciously mellows out whenever you approach to him to speak, and he only realizes that fact every time you leave the conversation to continue your next to-do on your schedule
“Akashi-san!”
he turns to look at you impassively, but he stands to wait to hear what you have to say
“Can I help you with anything in any way?”
“Are your assigned duties of manager not enough?” he asks, but he continues to give little away from his blank expression
“No, no, that’s not it,” you reply. “I was wondering how I can extend my hand to also help out the captain of the team as well. After all, it’s important for the managers to care for the well-being of every team member
 you’re no exception!”
“Do what you think is best to ensure victory,” was all he said before he left
you’re now confused
did he mean for you to keep up your work as normal? did he trust you enough to let you decide what to do on your own? his vague words certainly threw you in for a loop
still, the Rakuzan teammates were able to breathe easier whenever you were in the same room as Akashi, because there’s always a gentler aura around him when you’re near the vicinity
sometimes his Orekashi side slips out, whether he gives an open compliment to a good play (albeit, delivered in a calm, spartan way) or when he gives an occasional perfect-rhythmed pass that leaves his teammates in a stupor
Akashi’s mannerisms towards you as the manager is as subtle as a speck of dust, but he’s grown a quiet sense of respect for you and the atmosphere you’ve brought to the team
however, it will only be at the final game where his Orekashi side will fully reawaken again
if any student dares to approach you with insensitive questions and comments about your race and culture with stereotypes, they should be expecting all hell breaking loose from the basketball team in 3

Can I have your headcannons on what it would be like to date or have these guys as your boyfriend, for Murasakibara, Hanamiya and Hayama. Pretttttttyyyyyy plllllease!!!! I love your writing so much! Keep up the excellent work!!!!
um, absolutely yes? i love this ask so much. there’s such a variety in the characters like from lazy boi to bad boi to excited boi. let’s go! enjoy :3
Murasakibara
- murasakibara is the most possessive boyfriend ever–if any guy even looks at his s/o the wrong way or says something that he doesn’t like, Mura will literally growl and immediately drag her away
- Mura is just a little bit clingy, texting his s/o at all times of the day (even during class or in the middle of practice) just to see what she was doing at the time; he also texts his s/o every time he wakes up and every time he goes to bed
- whenever his s/o sleeps over, he must hold her like a teddy bear (arms wrapped around her very snug, chin rested on top of her head, legs right behind hers, just a huge spoon) because whenever she sleeps over, he gets the best sleep of his life
- Mura’s idea of a fun date would be just chilling at home, cooking and baking togetherïżœïżœïżœhe really prefers homemade foods to store-bought ones so when he finds out s/o is good at cooking, he is absolutely ecstatic and falls in love with her all over again
- he likes to kiss his s/o all over, it really doesn’t matter as long he makes her blush in some way–he likes to point out the fact that she’s blushing because it makes her blush even more and he loves it when she blushes
- meeting his family was was so nerve-wracking for his s/o because he’d never brought a girl home before and they all had so many questions about how she caught the interest of the big purple boy
- Mura says that he likes tall girls, but if he has a short s/o, he would literally not care at all about how far he had to lean down to kiss her–sometimes he’d just opt to pick her up and kiss her before setting her back down
- will definitely force-feed his s/o if he feels she’s not eating enough (no one eats as much as Mura thinks they should) and will often stuff snacks in her mouth while she’s talking
- Mura is so grateful that his s/o is patient with him, because he doesn’t know what he’d do without her
Hanamiya
- is the most reluctant boyfriend–is definitely the type to deny that he even likes his s/o and know deep down that he loves her more than anything
- his s/o has a really good influence on him–she’s super sweet and smart and normal compared to the other girls he’s had relationships with
- hana’s mom adores his s/o, and hana feels a little jealous that his mom is so attached to his s/o, but also super proud because he finally found someone he could be proud enough of to bring home to his mom (whom he treasures)
- Hana’s idea of a perfect date depends on his mood: either netflix and chill OR going out to dinner and taking a walk and talking about super deep things like the universe and philosohy–there is no in between
- his teammates would hit on his s/o just to see Hana get super possessive and angry, they never thought he’d be so protective of someone  and they tease him about it endlessly
- Hana likes to kiss his s/o’s neck when he’s trying to initiate something, but other than that he kisses her hands and/or lips–he can be the super romantic type when he really wants to be
- Hana tries not to act so vulgar and rude in front of his s/o because he feels like she’ll eventually get fed up with his bad attitude and leave him
- his s/o doesn’t necessarily care about his bad attitude, she loves him because he’s smart and super sweet and considerate deep down, and it kind of annoys him that she can see right through his bad boy act
Hayama
- this boy is the definition of clingy, but in the best way possible
- like Mura, he’ll always text his s/o goodnight and good morning, but when he misses her a little extra, he’ll pick up the phone and call just to hear her voice
- he loves cuddles. all sorts of cuddles. cuddles on the couch while watching a movie, cuddles in bed before going to bed or after waking up, just as long as he’s got his s/o in his arms he’s happy
- his idea of a fun date is anything that requires expending a little energy, since he’s got so much of it—he really likes to go to carnivals or fairs so he can win things for his s/o and look cool in front of her (plus that smile when he hands her the prize he won is priceless)
- his favorite kind of kisses are nose or forehead kisses because he thinks they’re the cutest kind of kisses for the cutest kind of s/o
- Hayama would never admit it but he really likes it when his s/o pinches his cheeks or calls him cute, and if she does it at the same time, he’s done
- Hayama is so insecure that his s/o might leave him for someone more “mature” so his s/o has to reassure him that he’s the only one she wants to be with
- Hayama loves his s/o because she’s super tolerant of his emotional ups and downs and his excitability

KnB (Akashi x Reader): The Queen’s Gambit - Part 4
About two weeks after Rakuzan High had resumed its normal acitivities, Akashi realized he wanted a bit more than friendship from you. It didn’t actually start out as a coherent thought, but was more a series of impressions he built up over the course of time. The clincher, as always, was another guy. To be specific, it was Hayama.
Akashi had never really thought about friendship in his 17 long years of life, being occupied with other things; namely, overwhelming victory. Oh, he understood the concept, but on a theoretical basis, like the way you know a galaxy exists but cannot really envision it. He supposed what they had at Teiko was a sort of friendship, before everything had gone to pieces, anyway. What a friendship entailed on a daily basis, and what it felt like – he wasn’t familiar with these things. That’s why, when he looked at you, he wouldn’t know to identify what feelings were friendship and what weren’t.
So it came as a bit of a revelation when one of the most clueless people on the team had to point it out to him.
“Say, captain. Are you sure you’re not dating _____-san?” Hayama scratched the back of his head, understandably nervous.
Akashi paused in the hallway and turned to look at him. The red-head frowned slightly. Mibuchi and Nebuya went pale at the destruction that was sure to follow this effrontery. Hayama flinched a little, but stayed firm.
“I believe I explained this already, Kotarou. Firstly, my personal life is none of your business, and secondly, she and I are friends. Nothing more.”
“Well, it sure doesn’t seem like it to anyone else. Are you sure you’re not mistaking one for the other?”
“If I thought the opinions of unrelated passers-by were worthwhile, I’d never get anything done. What exactly is your point?”
“I’m just saying, once you get over the fact she can dismember you single-handedly, she’s a nice girl. It seems like a waste. Honestly, Akashi-kun, when are you going to find a girl who’s not terrified or over-awed by you again? Plus, you sure don’t look at her like a friend does.”
The recipient of this sage advice had his eyes narrowed into slits. “Care to explain?”
Hayama gulped and plowed on anyway, since he’d come this far. Mibuchi sent up a silent prayer for his soon-to-be-departed soul.
“You look at her like
like you’re at a tough match. Like you’re enjoying every second of a challenge. I don’t really know how to say it.”
Reo piped in, why the hell not, they were all going to run extra laps anyway.
“Let’s think of it this way, Sei-chan. If Kotarou over here were to ask your pretty ‘friend’ out, how would you feel?”
Akashi’s frown intensified. “I don’t think that would be my business in any way.”
“Really?”, Reo drawled. “Not even if he were to flirt with her like that guy over there is doing now?”
Everyone turned in the direction of Mibuchi’s hand flutter to see you talking cheerfully to a fellow second year. The young man in question leaned against the wall in a suave pose, one arm braced near your head. He was tall and attractive, and you were smiling up at him. Akashi felt an unpleasant feeling churn his stomach.
Reo continued his attack, driving the knife in deeper. “He could be asking her out right now. It’s not like she doesn’t have her share of admirers. There are quite a few people into the onee-san vibe she gives off. I saw her get a letter in her locker last week.”
Akashi gritted his teeth, vaguely feeling the need to set the fool talking to you on fire. You laughed at something the miscreant said, and he tucked a lock of your hair behind your ear. The pencil in Akashi’s hand snapped.
Mibuchi poised for one final blow. “So are you really telling us, Sei-chan, that you’re ok with some other guy touching and kissing her?”
That seemed to have been the straw that broke the camel’s back, for Sei-chan had crossed the hall in three fluid strides and now loomed behind you with a dark aura. The boy talking to you widened his eyes in shock, and slowly started backing up. You looked around in confusion.
“Aikawa-kun, what’s wrong?“
“Aikawa-kun, is it? I’d like to speak to ______ here for a moment. Perhaps you’d like to leave?”
It didn’t seem much like a request when Akashi said it with that expression. One eye glinted dangerously gold. When the boy made no attempt to move, Akashi decided a display was in order. He slipped an arm around your waist, making you jump in surprise.
“Seijuro?! What on earth?”
He said nothing, simply pulling you back until your back was flush against his chest, and tightened his arm around you. He gripped your chin gently and tilted your head to the side to brush his lips against the pulse in your neck.  It was a sensitive spot, and his breath whispering over your skin sent electricity down your spine. Your face went completely pink and you gripped his wrist, trying to pull him off.
“Akashi, stop, this isn’t-“
He lazily looked back up at the other boy. Poor Aikawa’s sense of self-preservation kicked in and he practically ran in his haste to get out of range.
Don’t ever touch what’s mine again.
“
look, Sei-chan, are you listening? You need to get to know her first, take her out on a date.”
Akashi shook himself out of a very satisfying daydream to catch his team mates looking at him with concern. He cast one last look at you talking to Aikawa-kun, totally oblivious to the imaginary murder that had taken place, and stalked off. The others just watched him go, shaking their heads.
Nebuya’s massive shoulders drooped a bit. “We’re going to pay for that one, aren’t we? What even possessed you to bring that up, Hayama?”
Kotarou sighed, feeling defeated. “You remember the first time ______-san came by to practice? We were having a joke-off. Something about who could tell the best knock-knock jokes.“
Nebuya and Mibuchi nodded.
“And then we asked Akashi to join in. He said he didn’t know any knock-knock jokes, but he could try another one.”
Everyone collectively cringed at the memory.
Reo winced some more thinking about the timing of it all.
“He said something about Schrodinger’s cat, didn’t he?”
“Yeah,” said Hayama glumly. “Is Schrodinger’s cat alive or dead? Dead
”
“
because domesticated cats live for about 13 years,” Nebuya finished for him.
They grimaced some more at the fresh reminder. Back then, the collective reaction had been total silence. You’d walked in just in time to hear Akashi’s unintended attempt at gallows humor, and stopped short like everyone else.
“The joke was bad enough, but then Akashi was looking at us all like he was perplexed. I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t want to be the one who told him that he failed at something. But then ______-san started laughing.”
Reo smiled at the memory. “Honestly for a moment there, I thought she was as bad as Sei-chan and had a twisted sense of humor. Thankfully she was just amused by his inability to tell a joke.”
When you’d finished laughing, wiping a tear from your eye, you’d almost dissolved into giggles again at the sight of their faces.
“Oh my goodness, Seijuro-kun, that was so anti-climactic. Who knew you’d actually be bad at something? It could have been worse though, couldn’t it?”
They didn’t see how, so you thought for a moment.
“What do you call a dog with no legs?”
No one wanted to think too deeply about the answer, so you took pity on them.
“It doesn’t matter what you call him, he isn’t coming.”
Even Akashi had been horrified at that one. You’d just shrugged and pointed out that at least it wasn’t a dead baby joke. From there it turned into a competition to tell the best anti-joke.
“It was almost impressive how she came in and turned a potential minefield into a bonding experience,” Reo mused.
“Yeah. Well. That’s when I thought Akashi should put in some effort and make her his. When is he ever going to find a girl like that again?”
Hayama looked down at his toes. “He’s become a nicer person since the Winter Cup, so I want him to be happy too. And he looked happy that time.”
Reo pouted a little, then sighed. “As much as I hate the thought of someone snatching away Sei-chan, you’re right. For his own good, we have to make him see the light. Especially after his reaction the other day
”
Nebuya and Hayama looked at him with interest. “The other day?”
“Oh, you guys weren’t there, were you? I was passing by the student council room when it happened. Sei-chan and ______-chan were in there, talking about some boring reports, who knows. Then his phone pinged and he stopped talking to look at it.”
Akashi looked up at you from his desk with that expression of blank non-understanding he very rarely had. “___. What’s an eskimo kiss?”
You paused in the midst of rolling up a banner. “Why do you ask?” you said cautiously.
“Kise just sent me a message saying something about Moriyama-san practising it on Kasamatsu-san. He also thinks Moriyama-san is dead, so I’m not sure how seriously to take this.”
You pursed your lips, trying to hold back the laughter. You could have sworn you heard someone snicker outside, but you chose to ignore it.
“It’s a gesture of affection where you rub your nose against someone else’s, like a kiss. Mothers like to do it with their children. It’s very cute, I have lots of younger cousins that do it.”
Akashi was still vaguely confused, so you let out a breath in frustration. “Like this.”
You set the files down and moved closer. He just watched you, intrigued. You bent down and slid your hands up to his cheeks. Akashi went very still.
You closed your eyes and briefly hoped this wouldn’t come back to bite you. Very gently, you brushed your nose against his, shaking your head.
Akashi stayed as he was, wide-eyed. Your fingers were cool against the warmth of his skin.
You opened your eyes and stepped back. “So
yes. That’s what it is. I’ll just take these files and leave now.”
You left Akashi smiling a little to himself, not noticing a gleeful Mibuchi hovering by the doorway.
“
and that’s how I decided Sei-chan needed some romance in his life.”
Kotarou’s and Eikichi’s jaws look a little dislocated, but they recover quickly.
“But first, he needs to take her on a date. Which he has realized now, hopefully.”
Everyone looked at the shards of pencil on the floor.
“We can only hope.”
It was a nice day to be out, you thought to yourself. It was sunny, the weather was pleasant, and the birds were singing
Too bad you had to stay in and do chores. Oh well, maybe another time.
You shook out the last of the sheets and hung it on the line to dry. When you bent down to pick up the laundry hamper, there was the rumble of a car coming down the street. A very large car. You leaned over the fence to see a
limo?
Did someone lose their way? That car barely fits into the street. Oh no, they’re slowing down. I hope they don’t ask me for directions

The gleaming white behemoth came to a stop. A uniformed chauffeur leapt out and grandly opened the door to let a familiar figure step out.
Oh. Why am I not surprised? Not even a little bit.
“Good morning, Seijuro. What a pleasant surprise.” You greeted him like rich heirs drove up to your house every day.
“_____. Lovely as ever, I see. May I come in?”
Does he have a head trauma? Lovely? I’m in a hoodie and my hair is a messy bun. What is he up to now?
“Of course, though you’ll have to excuse the untidiness, we weren’t expecting visitors. To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?”
Look at us, talking like we’re trying to ace butler training. He’s as uncomfortable as I am, apparently.
“Hmm, I have my reasons.” He was being enigmatic about the whole thing. Again, not surprising.
You led him into the living room, where a puzzle was scattered across the low table, next to a vase of daisies. It looked like the twins were up and about. From the kitchen, the smell of soup wafted out, along with sounds of movement and dishes clattering. The room was decorated in earthy colours, with a sofa that looked comfortably lived in.
Altogether, it was a scene of domestic cosiness, which is why Akashi looked so out of place in it. Dressed in a crisp shirt and jeans, he looked downright delicious. But still out of place. It wasn’t that he was overdressed or anything, but more that he had an air of expensive elegance about him. You looked at him and thought of candlelit dinners and wine. That’s just how it was.
He’s doing wonders for my self-esteem. I’m just glad he missed me in pyjamas. I would never live that down.
For his part, the interloper was looking around with interest. His gaze lingered on photos of your family at the beach, and on the novel you’d been reading last night. No doubt storing and processing all the information for some later date.
You cleared your throat, focusing his attention on you again.
“Since I’m sure you will tell me about your abrupt appearance at your own pace, I won’t ask. Before I think too deeply about how you knew my address, would you like to meet my family first?”
Akashi gave a slight smile at your accurate observation. “Of course. I must greet your parents and apologize for intruding so early.”
You raised an eyebrow, but went over to the kitchen door without comment.
“Mama, we have a visitor. It’s a friend from school. Could you come over for a second?”
“A friend? This early? Is it Reina-chan?”
“No, you haven’t met before. Come say hi.”
You followed your mother as she bustled out of the kitchen, wiping her hands on her apron. She took in the sight of Akashi standing resplendently and raised an eyebrow.
“Mama, this Akashi Seijuro-kun, my friend from school. Akashi-kun, this my mother, ______ Sanae.”
Akashi dropped into a graceful 90-degree bow. “Pleased to meet you, _____-san. My apologies for the intrusion.”
Your mother, who’d given you a sharp look when you said Akashi’s name, smiled kindly at him.
“What a well-mannered young man. No need to apologise, Akashi-kun, we’re glad to have one of ___’s friends over. Especially one we’ve heard so much about. Please, do sit down.”
Akashi sneaked a glance at you when he heard that you’d mentioned him to your parents, but you were looking out of the French windows to the back garden.
“Mama, where are the twins?”
“Upstairs, maybe? I heard something about puzzle glue.”
“Oh god no, not the glue. Rio, Rui, come downstairs! There’s someone I want you to meet!”
There was a crash and a thud from upstairs, followed by the sound of pattering feet. When Akashi looked at you, you had your eyes clenched and teeth gritted. Counting down from ten, you cooled down enough to see the 13-year-old twins rush down the stairs and skid to a stop.
You looked down at them, eyes narrowed. “That noise. Do I want to know about it?”
Your brother shook his head. Your sister wasn’t looking anywhere near you.
“I will go upstairs eventually, but we’ll leave it alone for now. I want to introduce you to someone. This is Akashi Seijuro-san, the captain of the basketball team. He’s a friend from school. Akashi-kun, these miscreants are Rio and Rui, my brother and sister.”
At the mention of his name, the twins lost their obedient expressions and jumped up.
“THE AKASHI-SAN? From the Kiseki no Sedai? The famous, badass one?”
“That’s me, yes. It’s a pleasure to meet you both.” Akashi smiled and held out his hand to them.
That turned out to be a mistake, because they both squealed in delight and latched onto him. Only years of dealing with the likes of Aomine, Murasakibara and Nebuya kept Akashi stable.
Rio: “Is it true you can predict what players are going to do before they know it? That’s so cool!”
Rui: “Nii-san, nii-san, did you really play with Kise nii-san and Kuroko nii-san? What was it like?”
You: “Alright, Akashi-kun is not here for an interrogation. You can bombard him later. For now, either finish that puzzle or put it away.”
They pouted a bit, but went off to do as they were told. You watched them go suspiciously.
“I think your presence had a calming effect, Akashi nii-san. I’ve never seen them so cooperative. They must really want to impress you.”
He chuckled. The twins had been warm and happy, and he didn’t have siblings. Their attention, while slightly overwhelming, had felt nice.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been introduced as the badass one before. That was certainly an interesting experience.”
You smirked a bit. “Don’t worry, they worship all of the Kiseki players equally, though it varies each month. I think it’s Kise-san and you right now. The forecast for next month is tending towards Midorima-san.”
“I’m surprised they knew about Kuroko though, not many people do.”
“They follow the games very closely, and as for what they do and do not know
well, it terrifies me sometimes.” This was said with a fond shake of the head.
You placed a cup of jasmine tea in front of Akashi, and sat down next to him on the sofa. He murmured his thanks and began sipping it. You sighed at the elegance of even that action. Could he not get something right? He looked at you inquiringly.
“So what are you really here for, Seijuro? It can’t be to chit-chat and sip tea, as fun as that is.”
He set the cup down on the table and turned to face you fully. “I’m here for our date.”
Whatever you were expecting, it wasn’t this. “What date?”
“You might remember that we made an agreement on the day of our kendo match. To meet on Sunday. I’m here to collect on that promise.”
You wondered where he got the audacity from. Was it genetic?
“First of all, there was no agreement, just an autocratic announcement from you that had your fanclub after me for days. Secondly, why are you picking this up now, after three weeks? Bit late, isn’t it? And finally, why on earth are we going on a date when we both know you have no romantic interest in me?”
Akashi decided to sort through this flood of words in order. He took hold of your hand. You drew back in surprise, but didn’t push him away. This bolstered his confidence a bit.
“To answer the first question, I am absolute. The reason for the second is that I’ve been busy the last couple of weeks and there was a realization I came to recently. As for the last
”
He lifted your hand to brush his lips across your fingers. You froze in place, pink flooding your cheeks.
“
who says I’m not interested?”
Your head was a complete jumble of thoughts, but one stood out like a neon sign among traffic lights:
Akashi Seijuro
likes me? Like that?
You snapped out of your reverie to see him looking at you like he’s read every thought in your mind. He smiled; it was both pleasant and triumphant at once.
Yep, he definitely knew what I was thinking.
“Y-you can’t just give me a reason like ‘I’m absolute’ and expect me to just go along with it. Besides, I was supposed to help Mama out with chores today. I can’t just drop everything and leave.”
From the kitchen came a cheerful shout: “Rio and Rui can help me out for today. Just go with that handsome young man already!”
You buried your face in your hands. Akashi had to stifle a laugh at the entire predicament.
You looked up, expression caught between hope and apprehension. “Fine, I’ll go with you. But I have a condition.”
He was curious now. Were you going to impose a restriction? He’d manage, but hopefully you could at least hold hands or something

“What is it? I’ll try to do it, whatever it is.”
“I’ll tell you after I’m dressed. Give me ten minutes.” You ran up halfway up the stairs and stopped. “Akashi-kun, should I dress for something in particular?”
I’m Akashi-kun now? She must quite angry then.
“No, just casual wear will do.”
“There better not be any more surprises, I’m warning you.” You didn’t stop to hear if he had anything to say, which was probably for the best.
Fifteen minutes later, you came down in an outfit to weather whatever Akashi had planned. It was a breezy sundress with knee length tights and strappy sandals. You would have liked to do something better with your hair than the ponytail it was in, but that was the price Akashi had to pay for sneaking up on you. You dropped your phone, keys and wallet into a small bag and turned to him.
“Shall we go?”
He nodded and bowed to your mother, who was watching the proceedings with a smile.
“Then, ____-san, thank you again for having me over. I promise to keep her safe.”
She waved it away saying, “Just make sure to bring her back by six.”
“I will.” You rolled your eyes at their conspiracy and followed Akashi to the car.
Once inside the imposing limo, you felt like some questions had to be asked.
“So, Seijuro-sama, I assume you have this date planned down to the last detail. What are we doing today?”
“I will tell you shortly, but first, the condition you mentioned?”
You shifted uncomfortably and looked at him sideways. He waited, patient as ever.
“This is not so much a condition as a request, but
is it true you have a horse? A white horse?”
“Yes,” said Akashi hesitantly, not sure where this was heading. “Her name is Yukimaru.”
You bit your lip and looked at him hopefully. “Can we
can we go see her? I love animals, but haven’t really gotten to pet a horse
”
When you looked at him like that, Akashi would have signed shares over to you if you asked.
Really, why couldn’t you be more conventional and ask for jewellery or clothes? It would be less detrimental to my heart. And you don’t even want to ride the horse, just pet her? Be greedier.
When he didn’t reply immediately, you panicked a bit. “It’s alright to say no! I know it was a troublesome request and I shouldn’t have asked-“
“I’d be happy to.” He gave you a full, brilliant smile that stopped your heart. “I think she’d enjoy meeting you.”
“Really?” you asked in delight.
“Really.”
“Thank you. Genuinely. I wouldn’t mind if you kidnapped me and sold me to slavery now. I’m that happy.”
“That was a bit too easy, then. Couldn’t you make it more challenging to make you happy?”
“I’m not doing anything to your satisfaction today. If I want to be happy just because you look nice, I will.” You gave him a stubborn look.
He laughed, and it was a glorious, lilting sound. You were surprised the driver didn’t crash the car when it happened. The planets must have aligned or something. How else could you be so blessed in one day?
You turned away to look out of the window, unable to bear the beauty. If he continued like this, being charming and dangerous and attractive
It didn’t bear thinking, the idea of an unrequited love for him. There were no half-measures where Akashi Seijuro was concerned, so it wouldn’t be a crush, and if you were to fall in love with him, you were fairly certain he’d ruin you for anyone else.
If? What if? I’m halfway there. If he so much as breathes a word of interest, I’ll probably collapse at his feet and beg him to take me. So much for kendo making you strong.
Akashi, oblivious to your inner turmoil, spoke softly. “We’re going to a park.”
You turned your head towards him. “I’m sorry?”
“There’s park with landscaped gardens, close to my house. That’s where we’re going. We’re having a picnic there.”
“Oh.” You tilted your head and smiled slightly. “That sounds lovely.”
Perhaps I should just enjoy this while it lasts. Lock these memories away so I can keep them forever.
He seemed pleased. “I didn’t want to burden us with activity on our first date. Since we haven’t seen each other much, I thought we might take the time to get to know each other better. And it works out well if you want to visit Yukimaru.”
You were saved the trouble of having to respond when the car comes to a stop. The driver indicated that you had reached your destination and leaps out like before to hold the door open. You thanked him as you slid out, and walked over to the gates of the park. Akashi joined you, with a picnic basket that seemed to have materialized out of nowhere. He offered you his free arm.
You take it and smile at him, luxuriating in the warmth and safety of his presence.
I was right. It doesn’t matter what happens in the end. Every second with him will make it worthwhile.
He leads you to a shaded spot under a willow tree. As with everything he does, it is perfect, providing a scenic view of the park and a serene lake, while being secluded enough for privacy. The view is made even lovelier by the fact that the park has traditional style landscaping, interspersed with pagodas, rock gardens and the occasional waterfall.
“This is amazing,” you breathed in wonder. “I never knew such a place existed, or I would have visited more often.”
“This is a privately owned park attached to the Akashi family’s manor. It is open to the public, but not many people know about it.”
You took that in thoughtfully.
That explains the general lack of people. Trust his family to own a whole park.
“That makes me a little sad and happy at the same time. This park deserves to be admired, but on the other hand it’s like a secret only I know.”
Akashi smiled at this. “I know what you mean. I ride out here with Yukimaru sometimes.”
You sat down next to him on the blanket. “Tell me more.”
“Hmm?”
“About yourself, about Yukimaru, about an average day in your life. What you do in the evenings after school. What colour you like. Anything. Like you said, I don’t know much about you, even though you seem to know me well enough to seduce me with a picnic. So tell me anything.”
Akashi stared at you for a moment. You were gazing back at him in a way that reminded him of the first day you met each other. Eyes dark, intelligent and understanding.
Are you sure you don’t know me? You seem to have understood the most important parts already.
“Very well. But I expect you to return in kind.”
You nodded in agreement and the next hour (or was it two?) was spent with the both of you trading stories back and forth. At some point, the picnic hamper was opened, and you briefly got a laugh out of him when you accused him of trying to kill you with good food.
You smiled at his amusement, looking out at the ducks lazily floating on the lake. Akashi took the opportunity to do something he’d been wanting to do ever since he saw Aikawa hovering over you and pulled your hair free from its ribbon.
You turned back in surprise, hand going up to your hair.
“Seijuro, what-“
“Ssh. Let me just enjoy this.”
He picked up a lock of hair and gently tugged at it, making you move closer. You stayed very still as he twisted the dark strands around his fingers, admiring the texture.
“Like silk. So beautiful.”
He continued, sweeping your hair off your neck to expose the skin. His fingers trailed upwards, tracing the delicate line until he reached your jaw. Your expression remained unreadable and your eyes cast down, but your hand fisted in the blanket. He ran a fingertip over your cheekbone in a butterfly-light touch.
You looked up him, eyes glittering. Slid a hand up to interlace his fingers and yours. “Sei
”
His gaze briefly dropped to your mouth and came back up. He hummed in reply, the sound low.
“Seijuro, I’ve reached my limit now.”
Akashi barely had time to process this before you jumped straight onto his lap and buried your face in his neck. On autopilot, his arms wrapped themselves around you. You shivered uncontrollably.
What in the world

“_____, are you alright? Was it too fast? Did I make you uncomfortable?”
It certainly hadn’t seemed like it, but maybe he’d overdone it. That was an unhappy thought.
You shook your head, still clutching on to him for dear life. “It wasn’t you. It’s- there’s a
”
Your voice trailed off.
“What is it?”
You turned around in extreme caution to glance through the corner of your eye. Your hands fisted in his shirt.
“There’s spider right there, it’s huge and terrifying and- OHMYGODITSCOMINGCLOSER, WHY?”
With a muffled yelp, you hugged Akashi’s neck and pulled him closer. Clenching your eyes shut, you prayed that denial would make it disappear.
Akashi peered over your shoulder to look at this offending spider. It looked pleased with a job well done. He wasn’t sure what to think. On the one hand, it had interrupted a perfectly fine moment.
On the other hand
He focused on the sensation of having you pressed flush against him, your lips near his neck. You were holding on to him like you were drowning and he was oxygen. He looked back at the spider. It gave a cheery wave with one leg and scuttled off. He silently thanked it for its noble work.
You lifted your head slightly. “Is it gone?” Your voice was shaky.
“No, it’s still wandering about, though I’m not sure why you’re so scared of it.” You could hear the smile in his voice.
“Then please, do something about it. I’ll do anything you want in return.” You were desperate at the thought of turning around to find eight beady eyes staring back at you.
“Hmm, anything? Are you sure? Oh, it’s bigger than I thought
”
You went completely stiff and your grip on his shoulder tightened. “Yes, anything! I promise! Just please make it disappear!”
“I’ll hold you to that, then.” There was a rustle as he shifted forward and shook out the blanket.
“There, it won’t bother you anymore.” It hadn’t bothered any one for the last five minutes, but Akashi wasn’t about to tell you that. This was too much fun.
You slowly let go of him and gave the blanket a wary once-over. You slumped in relief and then came to the slow realization you were still on his lap, pretty much straddling him. From the cat-like smile on his face, he’d understood that you now regretted ever having been born.
“So,” he purred, “shall we continue?”
Since you had already ended up in this position, there was no point pretending you didn’t want to. But

“As much as I like being draped over you like a feather boa, I have to point out that’s it getting late and I have to be home by six. We won’t get to visit Yukimaru if we stay any longer.”
Akashi, ever the gentleman, merely smiled at this evasion and got up, brushing off his jeans. He held out his hand to help you up.
“And as much as I like having you draped over me, I did promise we would see Yukimaru. Besides
”
There was a sideways glance here. “
we’ll have plenty more opportunities for that. Don’t forget, you made a promise.”
You sighed a little at this reminder.
I knew that would come back to haunt me. Knowing him, several diabolical plans are probably in store. But the alternative was the spider, and I’d pick Sei over a spider any day. Also, what does he mean more opportunities? Is this going to be a regular thing? Is he
serious?
You didn’t have time to pursue these questions with him, however, as you had reached the entrance of the park again. Akashi handed over the basket to the driver with some instructions and ushered you into the car. You briefly wished you could have continued walking to his house, but it was probably too far to. Akashi suddenly spoke up.
“I’ve been meaning to ask, but I didn’t get an opportunity. Was your father not at home today?”
“Papa? Oh right, you didn’t get to see him. But then you’ve probably met him already.”
He was surprised. “I have?”
“He’s the head teacher at our school. Didn’t you know? I’m sorry, I thought you would have. Not many people know. Anyway, he’s at school today, grading assignments.”
That
explains everything and nothing.
“I am a little surprised, yes. The head teacher’s specialty is mathematics, isn’t it?”
“Yes, and sometimes he bemoans the fact that his oldest daughter’s best subject is history. Though the twins seem to like it. What about your parents? Are you similar to them?”
A tense silence suddenly fell over the car. You got the impression that this topic was a minefield and wished you hadn’t asked.
Akashi took a breath before answering. “People often say I remind them of my father, so I assume we look similar. As for my mother, I wouldn’t know, she passed away when I was ten.”
Your face melted into lines of sadness. Akashi looked at you when you linked your fingers together in a comforting touch.
“I’m sorry.” You hoped he understood you hadn’t meant to hurt him, and that you wished you could have met his mother. That you wished you could have taken on some of his pain, that you had met earlier. Anything to ease his burdens.
“It’s alright.” He tightened his grip on your hand, communicating his understanding. He let go as the car slowed down. “We’re here.”
When you stepped out of the car, you wondered how it was possible to be awed so many times in one day. The Akashi manor was a sprawling complex on a hill, with gardens to rival the park. It was impressive enough by itself, but the view made it even more spectacular.
“You can see Daimonji-yama from here,” you breathed, unable to process the beauty.
“The sunsets are particularly beautiful,” agreed Akashi, who seemed to have returned to his charming self. “The stables are this way, behind the house.”
You wondered if this mansion could ever really be called a mere house, but decided to follow Akashi and not think too hard about it. Then you actually arrived at the stables and decided this was the best thing that had happened to you all day, near-kisses notwithstanding.
“Seijuro, she’s beautiful.” And she was. Yukimaru was a magnificent horse, with a snowy white coat and a glossy mane. With her proud bearing and graceful lines, she was on the verge of becoming a unicorn.
“Come, I will introduce you. Yukimaru, I’d like you to meet someone dear to me. This is ____.”
Someone dear to him? Sei, why are you trying to give me a heart attack when I’m already nervous about the horse not liking me?
“Hello, Yukimaru-san. It’s nice to meet you.” You spoke in a soft voice, not wanting to startle her.
The mare huffed and tilted her head up to look at you for a moment. Then, apparently having judged that you acceptable, she stepped closer in curiosity. You took it as a good sign and reached up to pet her muzzle. She whickered and pushed her head over your shoulder, drawing you closer.
“She likes you,” said Akashi, eyes gentle.
“I like her too.” You smiled up at her. “Is there anything in particular she likes to eat?”
“She’s fond of sugar cubes, though we can’t feed her too many. It would be bad for her health.”
“Don’t listen to the fussy person over there,” you mock-whispered to Yukimaru. “I’ll get you some another time, I promise.” She neighed in agreement.
Akashi watched you corrupt his horse with a bemused expression.
Really, when you said you wanted to pet Yukimaru, I can’t believe that’s all you really wanted. You didn’t even look curious about the house. It’s like the Akashi name doesn’t exist when you’re around. Perhaps that’s why you’re interesting.
You gave the mare one last brush and stepped back. Then you turned to Akashi, expression serious.
“Seijuro-kun.”
“Yes?”
Why has the atmosphere suddenly turned formal? Is another spider around?
“About earlier, when you said something about more opportunities
did you mean that?”
Akashi tilted his head questioningly. “Why do you ask?”
“Because if you don’t really like me and this is an experiment of some sort, then it has to stop now. I don’t mean to be rude, you’ve been really kind to me today and it was wonderful. I was really happy. But if this isn’t something serious for you, then I’d rather we stayed friends. In all honesty, I’m already worried that I’m halfway in love with you and you don’t feel the same way. It would be really hard to bear if you suddenly decided you didn’t like me anymore.”
He was shell-shocked, to put it mildly.
Was it not obvious? It is a complete mystery sometimes, the female mind. And more importantly

“Hmm, how unexpected. Did I hear that right?” He leaned forward until you were staring right into his crimson eyes. “Did you say you loved me?”
“Err, yes?” You had been all over him since day one. How was this still in doubt?
“Good.” That was all he said before he covered your lips with his in a fierce, possessive kiss. After you got over the initial shock, you responded, sliding your hands into his hair and pressing closer. His hands briefly traced up your spine and into your hair before he pulled back, ending the kiss.
You stared at him wide-eyed, flushed and a little breathless. Something in him created a spark of triumph at the fact.
“Good,” he repeated, “because I have no intention of letting you leave me, now that you’ve said that. There is no escaping me. You will touch no one else, and smile for no one else. There is no name but mine. Understood? You’re mine.”
You knew it wasn’t a good idea, but you couldn’t help feeling a thrill at this autocratic statement. He was looking at you with enough intensity to melt your bones, and the weight of his scrutiny made you blush.
“Yes. As long as you promise to do the same, I’m yours.”
“Then do not doubt my feelings for you. Now, before this gets out of hand and your mother accuses me of ruining you, I should take you home.”
You almost begged him to take advantage of you, but it probably wasn’t good idea. You both had school the next day.
“We should probably go,” you agreed reluctantly.
“Besides,” he dipped towards your ear in a seductive whisper, “plenty of opportunities, remember?”
“I’m going to regret that free pass I gave you, aren’t I?”
“Perhaps.”
“Well, so long as it doesn’t involve spiders.”

don’t judge a book by its cover.
request: requests are open? i can’t just let this slide! can i request a hcs where rakuzan boys finding out their s/o who seems to be fragile, naive, and weak actually have an amazing self defense skills? like maybe one day they found some boys hitting on them while they are away and trying to hurt them for rejecting them, but when the boys are about to save them she already took the matters in her own hands?
# tags: headcanons; current relationships; romance; comedy; a bit of drama; but also fluff; supportive!boys & powerful!reader; sfw
includes: gender neutral reader ft. reo mibuchi, chihiro mayuzumi, kotarou hayama, seijuurou akashi & eikichi nebuya {knb}
author’s note: love it. also very sorry for my absence. i’ve been feeling bad lately, and i’m on my period :(
Tumblr media
— REO
↘ Only your family knew that you had been taking self-defense lessons for a long time. It was a form of training, entertainment for you, and you just wanted to feel safer – especially at night, coming back from college or work in the dark. You found the classes extremely interesting, and your trainer always praised you sincerely. You liked this form of physical activity.
↘ That day you finished classes at six in the evening. Staring at the phone’s screen, you texted Reo, telling him that you would wait for him in front of the main gate of the building. The basketball player agreed, of course, adding that he buy the two of you something warm from a vending machine before the meeting. You thanked him for these words, and then put the phone in your pocket.
↘ “... Good evening, Y/N. Are you coming back alone?” Suddenly, you heard a low voice to your right, and then you saw a boy about your age strange to you. I mean, he was no stranger – you knew him from the hallway at the university, and he would also appear at random times in your school schedule from time to time. However, you didn’t know his name and exactly how old he was. The boy immediately started walking towards you. “I will go with you, okay?” He smiled in a strange way, and you thanked him for his offer, but added that you would do just fine on your own.
↘ The man, however, insisted and grabbed your hand at one point. You quickly used this moment to twist his shoulder to the other side. The student bent at his knees and screamed, and you just held his hand tighter. From your lips came a short ‘No, mean no’, to which the brunette quickly apologized to you.
↘ “It was impressive.” Reo’s familiar tone entered your mind, and you quickly let go of the teenager’s hand. Your partner handed you a paper cup of steaming drink. “You must teach me this, baby.”
Tumblr media
— CHIHIRO
↘ Hardly anyone noticed your boyfriend – they had to really focus to notice his presence. It started to irritate you every time you and Chihiro went out into town together; were you in the zoo? People thought you came here alone. Did you go to the restaurant? Someone wanted to join you because they didn’t notice your partner at first. You have a picnic on the beach during your vacation after high school graduation? Someone asked you for a phone number saying you’re beautiful as a mermaid/triton.
↘ At one point you were afraid that if someone wanted to hurt you – they would do it because they wouldn’t notice your boyfriend. So you decided to enroll in a self-defense lesson with yoga. These were great activities that not only improved your physical condition but also calmed you down mentally. After each class, you felt lighter and more confident.
↘ So when you went for a walk in the park and you were accosted by two boys, you didn’t have to wait for either of them to notice your other half. You immediately used your own vision from self-defense classes to overpower the two males who, looking at you from the ground, finally noticed Chihiro. Terrified, not knowing if it was you or your partner, they fled the park, almost knocking their teeth out on the slippery grass.
↘ “It was pretty cool.” Fair-haired man admitted, and you giggled.
↘ “Since you taught me basketball, I can teach you some techniques.” You winked at the young student, and he nodded.
Tumblr media
— KOTAROU
↘ You always dressed in beautiful shirts, bows, pants matching your sweet expression and shoes with small accessories. You were a little oasis for Kotaro and a place that smelled like cotton candy and raspberry tea every day. So when your boyfriend noticed how well you were doing alone in an unpleasant situation with another basketball team during the summer competition... He was shocked. And at the same time, he was full of excitement.
↘ It all started when someone on the opposite team started insulting the Rakuzan team, including your boyfriend. Another person added that Hayama is a weak player and the only thing he can do is dribble, which for the opposing team was boring and not very spectacular. You chose to ignore it, but when yet another person began to personally insult your partner; saying that he’s stupid, he is not handsome, that you are with him out of pity or that anyone would easily replace Kotarou and give you more pleasure... Fear God.
↘ Your perfect punch to the captain’s nose was more than spectacular, and the blonde looking for you almost choked on the drinking water. Kotarou heard the other team’s conversation, he saw that these words hurt you so much and he wanted to stand in front of you and take you away from those dumb assholes, but instead he deeply cheered on you. You were amazing, you really were.
↘ “... And remember, you fools. Anyone else is better than you and no one will look at the worms you are!”
↘ Yup, this is his sweet but brave loved one.
Tumblr media
— SEIJUUROU
↘ Akashi knew perfectly well about your hobby which was boxing and related martial arts. He’d come to your training a lot and he definitely loved it when you would approach him during the breaks and give him a sweet kiss. Back then, you were the complete opposite of yourself in a cage. But your boyfriend really loved it and his support was a huge motivation for you.
↘ On that sunny day, a new member was assigned to your group to train at the same time as you and some of your other friends. He was a year younger than you, a little taller, and way overconfident. He spoke in a nonchalant tone to the coaches, other course participants and their relatives. On the other hand, he tried to get closer to you, showing a total lack of respect for your other half. You felt nervous and irritated.
↘ Fortunately, the trainer matched all the students in pairs during the training, and you got three rounds in boxing with a new male who was still too confident.
↘ “Such a cute person won’t beat me, haha.”, “You must have recently started training too, right?”, “These pants give your figure a nice boost.”
↘ During the sparring, you definitely were the best of all. Your punches were careful, your dodges were perfect, and your footwork was downright textbook. Seijuurou was very proud of you and he didn’t even have to get up from the bench to explain the teenager’s behavior. You humiliated him well enough and showed him his place.
Tumblr media
— EIKICHI
↘ When talking and looking at your boyfriend, many people feel... respect for him. After all, he’s very tall, broad and really well-muscled. In contrast, you seem to be a genuinely fragile and empathetic person. You’re opposites of each other and yet you attract each other like two magnets. It’s a wonderful sight, believe me.
↘ No one has ever suspected that Eikichi’s calm, sweet and graceful beloved would turn out to be a little tiger with sharp claws and long fangs!
↘ That evening you were waiting outside the cinema for your lover; you were supposed to watch one of the newest films, which interested you not only with the plot (a crime fiction with elements of romance and a delicate dose of humor), but also with the cast. After all, who doesn’t love Kenjirou Tsuda? We all love him! That’s why you waited patiently for the dark-skinned basketball player while browsing through other movie premieres; you had a few more tickets to use.
↘ At some point you felt a strange presence next to you and as quickly as possible you looked around. Next to you was a tall man, who was also definitely older than you – he could have been your father or uncle. His strange smile and distracted eyes made you feel disgusted and slightly anxious, you also felt the smell of alcohol. However, you decided that you would not show remorse and fear, so you looked back at your phone instead. To your happiness, a few other people were standing in front of the cinema, and in addition, Eikichi was due to appear in a few moments. Nevertheless, suddenly the man grabbed you by the sleeve of your jacket saying something about your appearance or face, and you automatically straightened your arm, knocking him out with a punch to the shoulder.
↘ Nebuya came up to you... and laughed a bit, then woke the old man up and asking if he should escort him to the police station, or if he could get there by himself for disturbing you, a.k.a. his partner.

drummer.
request: hello there darling, can i ask for something with hara, seto, nebuya and hayama and their s/o who’s the drummer? i I love music very much, i play guitar and drums. i used to do bvb covers when i was in middle school!
# tags: headcanons; current relationships; light romance, light comedy; mostly fluff; drummer!reader & hyped!boys; sfw
includes: gender netural reader ft. kazuya hara, kentaoru seto, eikichi nebuya & kotarou hayama {knb}
author’s note: hello! i accidentally deleted your request, but remembered it and wrote this request in my own words xD i’m sorry, anonnie. but hope you like it! love u!!
Tumblr media
— KAZUYA
↘ I have a headcanon in my head that Kazuya likes this type of music; AC/DC, ONE OK ROCK, Sodom, the GazettE and of course Black Veil Brides.
↘ He loves to come to your home after a long training session and relax listening to it all live; he likes to watch you develop, how much you enjoy your passion, how you try to create your own songs.
↘ Kazuya may look bored a lot, but he loves talking about music with you and going to various second-hand bookstores looking for old vinyls and other valuable items (vintage drumsticks, funny stickers, guitar picks, etc.).
↘ He gets excited (although he doesn’t show it) when you let him sit on your drums or give him one of your guitars and teach him to play at them. You made him love music even more.
Tumblr media
— KENTAROU
↘ Seto doesn’t like music in general, prefers to sleep and play basketball, but for sure – as long as it has something to do with you – he will start to be a little more interested in it all.
↘ He doesn’t talk too much, but he likes to listen to you when you talk about your purchases in an instrument store, when you talk about songs by artists that you like very much and when you say you’ve learned something new. He just likes to see you happy.
↘ I think that Kentarou’s love language are gifts, so expect lots of boxes with CD’s, lots of small things to clean your music equipment and tickets to various concerts.
↘ You always tell him it’s not necessary, but as I said, he likes to see you happy.
Tumblr media
— EIKICHI
↘ He’s so HYPED about it.
↘ Eikichi knows very well that playing drums requires a lot of strength in the hands and thighs/feet. He knows that the hitting the drums and cymbals must be strong enough for the sound to be loud and smooth. He admires your power and passion in your soul and body.
↘ You talk a lot about your hobbies; about sport and music. Often – during his outdoor training sessions outside your house – you open the garage to play and admire his basketball techniques at the same time. Your music gives him as much energy as lemons in honey (or even more).
↘ He definitely loves coming to your school shows or other music competitions. His large person holds an equally large banner, giving you lots of motivation and happiness.
Tumblr media
— KOTAROU
↘ As excited as Eikichi or even more!
↘ Kotarou asks you LOTS of questions about music, drums, artists you like, songs you love. He remembers everything and then, at the next your date, he discusses various topics with you, which impresses you a lot. What you really love about him is that he tries to catch up with you in your passion, although he cannot play drums and has no musical ear.
↘ I think he listens to completely different music (something like Nico Collins or Doja Cat) but he still loves what you do. He loves your slightly altered versions of the original songs. He appreciates your independent contribution and how much time you spend on it. And when you do covers of his favorite songs... daaaaamn, he’s in love with you even more.
↘ He definitely goes to concerts with you and even if he really doesn’t understand this type of music, he loves to watch you sing and put your hands up while having fun with the other fans of the band. He’s so supportive and sweet that you just want to strangle him with your love.

Midorima and the Dreaded Mascot part 2
AN: Alright, so here’s part 2. I hope the crack and fluff is enjoyed.  (Reminder, I am open to requests) It was the first day of Inter High, and the Shutoku team was waiting for Tae and her best friend, Y/N, to join them. You’d be there to make sure Posi wouldn’t run onto the court, and Midorima had been glad to hear you’d be keeping her on a leash. The team had been overjoyed with the fact, Takao the Captain having grown particularly attached to the feline, and it was great to know she could actually sit amongst the benches. Unlike Nigou, Posi was already a few years old which meant she was already past her most hyperactive phase, and she was well-traint on a leash. Tae mentioned Posi was attacked when she was small and going around the block for the first time on her own, and after recovering from her injury you’d began taking her on leashed walks for her safety. The team hadn’t met you yet, but going by Tae’s stories, Midorima considered you a responsible but dotting owner. The fact that Posi had never been noticed by the teachers or the majority of the student body only further seemed to speak of a well-behaved little lady. But Midorima wouldn’t buy it, not when she kept going after his lucky items as if they were her personal toys. No, the only reason Posi hadn’t been caught yet must certainly be your efforts at trying to discipline the little beast. The team could see the two girls entering the building from where they were waiting at the lobby. “Hi,” you waved as Tae pulled you to the team, Posi resting in the bag slung over your shoulder.  Anyone spying her inside could see she was comfortably wrapped in her favourite blanket. The team took you in. From your (h/c) locks, to your big (e/c) eyes, your orange accesoires that were undoubtedly picked to show your own support to the team, and your sweet smile.  Tae was already a blessing to the team, but two cute girls sitting on the bench for them? The Shutoku team suddenly felt quite blessed. You slowly pulled Posi out of the bag, and she let out a tired ‘mew’. Everyone but Midorima melted as they saw her, dressed in an Shutoku basketball team shirt.  As you held her close when they began introducing themselves, Midorima could suprisingly spot a few similarities between the two of you. Posi had a tiny black spot under her eye, like the beauty mark of that Yosen guy. So did you. Even though you weren’t blessed with feline eyes, your gaze held a similar charm as hers.  Your size, both of you weren’t quite average, but you weren’t that short either. Somewhere a little in between. Posi was a calico who’s most dominant fur colour was black, and your black Shutoku uniform, with the occasional white elements such as the green and white striped ribbon around your neck, and the orange accesoires, were rather matching. ‘I suppose owners and pets looking alike really is a thing.’ Midorima thought to himself. “My name is Midorima Shintaro, nanodayo.” He said, introducing himself. You giggled in return, finding the way he was speaking funny yet surprisingly adorable, just like the green stuffed frog he was holding. You shot him a genuine, bright smile, and Midorima felt like he couldn’t breathe for a second.  Not that anyone noticed, if there was one thing Midorima was good at, it was masking how he feels. “Shall we go to the stadium, Y/n-Chan?” Tae asked you, and you nodded as the team went to go change.
Later, during a game against Senshinkan, Midorima could spot the three of you on the bench. Tae was holding a clipboard as she was going over some useful data, but she always found her gaze drawn to Takao whenever the two were preparing for their Sky Direct 3 Point Shot. You were seated beside her, holding Posi on a tight, hot pink leash. She sported the number 8, which had been the number of the captain’s older brother. In the upper one of the circles within the 8-figure, you had made a hole so you could pull the leash through her backside, making sure the outfit wouldn’t constrict the leash and Posi could move as comfortable as possible. You still kept her on a pretty tight leash though, keeping an eye on her so she wouldn’t take the stuffed frog or go near the court. Always doing your best to keep a 2 meter distance from the white lines. Another first year on the bench was stroking beneath Posi’s chin as he conversed with you. You were merely being friendly, but the way Posi’s presence evoked warmth in your eyes would almost make someone mistake it for something else. For the first time ever, Midorima felt like he should give the beast a chance. Because the way he almost fumbled the ball as he kept glancing at you brought it clear enough to his attention that he was attracted to you.  Midorima might be dense about the hearts of others, but he wasn’t clueless about his own.  No, he wasn’t that stupid. As Posi made another attempt at his frog, he tried his best to keep his calm. ‘Kami-sama, at least tell me why on earth this cute girl comes with that creature?’ Somewhere in the crowd, Rakuzan’s team was also watching the bench. “Oh look! They have such a cute little mascot Sei-Chan~” Mibuchi cooed, definitely having the heart of a girl when it came to cute pets. “I know right?! Ne, captain, can we also have a mascot like Shutoku and Seirin? All the strong teams have one, we should too!” Hayama yelled excitedly, feeling somewhat envious their two biggest rivals from the Winter Cup were sporting such adorable pets.  Seirin on the other hand was watching the match with their thoughts ranging from Kagami’s ‘Why couldn’t we have a cat instead of that damned dog?!’ to Kuroko’s, ‘It’s a pity Nigou is growing so fast. He’s becoming too large for a playdate T-T. I must introduce him to smaller dogs before I talk to Shutoku’about it.’ (yeah he was definitely fantasizing about a cute pet-meeting between your teams). Koganei was chuckling. “Look guys. Seems we started a trend!”

missed shot.
synopsis: Boys lose a point when they unexpectedly see you.
# tags: headcanons; current relationships & crush culture; comedy; fluff; a little bit of romance; boys are simps for you and you are a huge fan of them!; sfw
includes: female reader ft. taiga kagami, ryouta kise, tatsuya himuro, kotarou hayama, shouichi imayoshi & midorima shintarou {knb}
Tumblr media
— TAIGA
↘ You are a bit late, but you arrived at the Seirin vs. Josei game safe and sound! You also took a seat upstairs to get a better view of the all players.
↘ You arrived just as Kiyoshi knocked the ball from his opponent’s hand and passed it to Izuki. You immediately crossed your fingers when the ball was passed to Kuroko and then to Kagami. You grinned when the tall basketball player jumped high to dunk.
↘ “Kagami-kun! Win it!” You screamed as loud as you could, waving your arms to cheer for him even better.
↘ Anyway, because of your voice echoing around the gym, Taiga lost his concentration for a moment and at the same time found you at the stands.
↘ His heart was beating much faster than it should, and a big smile appeared on his face, seeing that the girl with he is in love with came to support him.
↘ Unfortunately, his inattention resulted in hitting the hoop and losing the ball. Also a bit of laughter from you spread around the gym, making his cheeks as red as his hair and eyes.
↘ “S-Sorry!” He shouted to the rest of the team, then looked back at you. “The next throw will be successful! I p-promise!”
Tumblr media
— RYOUTA
↘ You came on Kise’s matches almost always as his best and only female friend. Unfortunately, you had to go to the dentist that day, so you came a bit late for the Winter Cup match between Kaijou High and Fukuda Sougou Academy.
↘ Luckily, your friend kept you a free seat in the first stand until then, so you could watch the last quarter.
↘ “Ryouta! Don’t give up, you can win this game with the team!” Your scream reverberated between the quieter conversations that commented on the point difference between the players.
↘ Your happy and supporting voice immediately reached the blonde boy who was copying Aomine’s moves.
↘ However, as it is easy to guess, instead of dunk the ball, he withdrew his hands and once again he stopped on the floor looking for your figure.
↘ As soon as he found you, he waved his hand at you and then spun the ball on his finger, smiling widely. “This point is dedicated to you, Y/Ncchi! Just look at me and only me!”
↘ This time, Kise didn’t flinch from the perfect dunk that you cheered loudly at.
Tumblr media
— TATSUYA
↘ Your super popular boyfriend has a basketball training with the rest of the Yosen team, and you, as a good girlfriend, came to support him and take him to sushi after training.
↘ You entered the gym very quietly, immediately walking up to trainer Araka and greeting her with soft smile. The woman nodded at you and asked if you finished class and if you came for Himuro. Of course, you confirmed her questions right away, laughing under your breath and saying that you would take him on a date after training. (Yosen coach had a relationship with you like a big sister and a little sister, so she was very eager to talk with you about random things.)
↘ “... Tatsuya!” You shouted to the jumping boy who was just taking his ‘mirage shot’ above another player. The seventeen-year-old glanced in your direction and you waved to him softly. “We’ll go on a date after your training, so you’d better kick everyone’s ass, Tatsu!” You added in an amused tone to which even Masako reacted with laughter.
↘ Of course, your presence, noticed by the black-haired student, made him throw the ball very imprecise so the consequence was didn’t score the desired three points.
↘ “Muro-chin, focus, please...” Murasakibara muttered at his friend and the other snorted under his breath.
↘ “I’ll get another one. Pass me the next ball.” He replied low, then looked at you again, waving you back.
Tumblr media
— KOTAROU
↘ You just arrived at the sports hall to support your boyfriend during the match between Rakuzan and Shuutoku. Of course you had with you a cute banner in your boyfriend’s team colors and with his name, which you quickly took out of your black, leather bag.
↘ A few minutes passed before a foreign voice announced a ten-minute warm-up for both teams. You smiled warmly seeing your man bursting with energy.
↘ “Hey, Kotarou-kun!” You screamed, immediately meeting his insane gaze. “Give your best, baby!”
↘ “Of course, I will!” He answered you just as loudly. “Look at this, Y/N-chan!” He added with a big smile, preparing to throw...
↘ ... which he missed. Oof.
↘ Akashi looked at him with a raised eyebrow. The rest of the team and you too.
↘ “OHHHH, YES. I GET IT, BOYS. LOOK THIS TIME, Y/N-CHAN! IT’S FOR YOU. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!”
↘ This time he hit perfectly, which is why you held your banner high, laughing happily.
Tumblr media
— SHOUICHI
↘ Imayoshi decided to stay a bit longer on training and practice the three-point shooting. The gym was empty, so he had time to himself.
↘ You, on the other hand, passed Ryou in the school corridor, whom you warmly greeted and asked where Shouichi was. The shy sixteen-year-old immediately squeaked that the shooter decided to stay in the hall longer than everyone else.
↘ That’s why you went to the mentioned place as quickly as possible and very quietly you entered the big building, watching the tall basketball player aim at the hoop.
↘ During the throw you coughed softly and smiled. “Shou-kun when you will done with practice, maybe we’ll come to our houses together?” You spoke tenderly, catching the brunet’s attention.
↘ A second later, the ball bounced off the ring after a while and fell to the ground without scoring a point. The captain hissed and looked at your figure again, sighing.
↘ “Y/N.” He grumble with a smile and you walk slowly towards him, adjusting the bag full of books. “Yes, I’d love to come back with you. Sit down and don’t bother me for another half hour, thanks.” He added gently, looking away from your cute, pouty face.
↘ “Are you blushing?” You asked, smiling. “Don’t worry Shouichi, I won’t tell anyone about this missed shot, I promise.” You added, showing thumbs up.
↘ The problem is that the boy didn’t blush because of a missed throw, but because you, his crush, saw it.
Tumblr media
— SHINTAROU
↘ Your boyfriend was just during in the first match of the Winter Cup final, and of course you wanted to surprise him, although the green head forbade you to come.
↘ You took one of the few free seats in the nearest stand and starts looked for Midorima. The boy was just aiming for a basket from halfway the court, and you smiled at it.
↘ You rarely saw your boyfriend play the basketball, so you were counting on a good and fair game.
↘ Nevertheless, you wanted to let Shintarou know that you are here for him.
↘ “Honey! Win it! I love you so much!” You screamed out loud, in the middle of a throw who...
↘ ... barely fell into the basket, making the entire Shuutoku team inhale loudly into their lungs. Midorima felt a unpleasant chills run down his spine as he looked in your direction. You waved at him and he adjusted his glasses, sighing under his nose.
↘ The corner of his mouth twitched in a smile, and he nodded, taking the lead of 40 points for his team (and for you, cute) during the game.
↘ Then, of course, he scolded you, telling you not to come on his matches again because you distracted him, but you couldn’t promise that.

Red Rose
Part 3 of the Pun Fest collection!
Akashi x Reader
Word Count: 4,355
Synopsis: You made it a challenge for yourself as the esteemed 1st year class clown to get a reaction out of Akashi. Not just any Akashi, however. Boku-Akashi. Things quickly get too out of hand.
Note: I will be trying to avoid describing the “color” of Akashi’s eyes because they are actually a non-diegetic effect, where the animation/visuals are flashy/emphasized for the audience to see, but in the canon universe, they don’t actually look like that and no one will actually see said animations, and such.
Â»Â»â€”â€”â€”â€”â€”ă€€â˜Œă€€â€”â€”â€”â€”â€”Â«Â«
“...and after that, his ass fell flat on the floor right in front of everybody! Can you believe that?”
As your voice chimed throughout the halls, your fellow classmates were stifling their laughter but chortles still escaped from their suppressed lips. Hayama smacked your head in utter embarrassment.
“You’ve already told that story to everyone, c-cut it out already!”
“Kotarooooo,” you pouted. “Not my fault that they kept asking for me to retell it again.” You stuck your tongue at him.
“Tch,” he clicked his tongue, figurative irk marks popping up on his temple. “You needa show some more respect to your senpais!” With that, he started grabbing your head to mess with your hair.
“H-Hey! It’s not my fault that you tried to impress a passerby 3rd year girl by doing a failed dribbling trickshot,” you vehemently protested, trying to rip his strong grip off your poor hairline.
Your classmates were either watching with complete entertainment or with concern for your safety as both you and the Uncrowned King were duking it out and sidestepping each other.

That is, until they grew increasingly uncomfortable after spotting a particular redhead walking in their direction.
You and Hayama were too invested in the playfight to notice the unforeseen deathly silence and chilled air that accompanied it.
“Kotarƍ.”
With a simple call from his airy tone that still somehow glaciated the sunniest of atmospheres, he halted both of you (with his hand still fisted in your hair and you still pulling his cheek) to turn your attention to the person to whom the voice belonged.
Akashi Seijuro.
“C-captain!” Hayama separated from you at an inhumane speed that rivaled his lightning dribbling. You stiffened yourself straight like a plank.
You’ve heard the rumors. From whispering gossipers to personal testimony from your blonde best friend, you knew his presence meant anything but pleasant.
“Did you forget that we had practice today?”
Holy shit. You glanced in the corner of your eye to see Hayama paled before he gulped. Was he gonna be okay?
You dared not move a muscle from where you stood, hoping not to attract the basketball captain’s attention, but you knew you stuck out like a sore thumb after seeing how all the students huddled closer to the walls while you were stuck in the middle along with Hayama and Akashi.
“I knew that you forgot, so I came by for your sake so we can all start practice together as an absolute team.”
Ah
there was his infamous favorite word.
Akashi flickered his catlike gaze to you. He didn’t miss the way your body was paralyzed by fear, but he slightly narrowed his pupils at the fact that you almost looked curious about him.
“We’re going.” He gracefully pivoted around to walk the opposite direction in where he came from.
“I-I’ll see you later, dummy,” he whispered, giving you a playful wink before he strode up to Akashi’s pace, but you knew from his tense back that he was scared shitless of whatever inevitable punishment drill he was going to be tortured by.
You recovered from your stupor and tried to ease Hayama with a joke. “Don’t act all tough, Kota! I know you’re gonna akashit your pants!—” You snorted trying to finish your one-liner but finding your own joke funny. “P-pf-pfft, don’t slip on the floor again, okay?”
And just like that, with your words, the students around you eased up and let out soft chuckles.
Hayama turned back around even as he continued walking. “Oi! Watch it, kid!” He made the motions of pointing his eyes to you, but you knew that he was grateful for you in trying to unravel his bundle of nerves.
Akashi, still walking, merely glanced back at your figure, unamused at your “joke” but nonetheless almost impressed that you actually had some type of leadership charisma to be able to uplift a crowd’s mood in an instant.
. . .
Everyone released a huge sigh of collective relief once the basketball-player duo was out of sight.
“Are you insane, (l/n)?” Another good friend of yours went up to your side. “You had the balls to literally say such a thing in front of him? Of all people?”
“Well, it’s not like, I’d get sent to the faculty office because of him
” you muttered. On second thought, you probably would. This was Akashi Seijuro you were talking about.
Everyone started clamoring as they all started seeing you in a much higher regard; some of them even looked at you with starry eyes and others swore to be your new admirers. The rest, though, thought you had just sealed your fate by getting under Akashi’s radar.
“You’ll be missed and honored,” a classmate said, giving a solid pat to your right shoulder. “What type of flowers would you like for your funeral?”
“Hmmm,” you hummed, pointing to your chin and staring at the grand ceiling. You turned to them. “Roses as red as Akashi’s hair and the blood of his victims.”
“(l/n), you did not—”
“Oh my god.”
“Is it too late to become religious just to pray for your wellbeing?”
You just summoned chaos in the hallway for the next hour.
---------
The next morning was just another indication of a mild, warm day in Kyoto as you walked past Rakuzan’s school gates. Or at least, you thought the morning would be fine. Even with your thick uniform blazer, you swore that you felt cold chills running down your spine every now and then when you were strolling your normal route to your class.
There’s the cold chills again.
You stopped and looked around your shoulders and behind your back. No one shady was near; they were all too busy chatting with their friends or changing their shoes in their lockers to care much for your presence. Those who noticed you nearby had already given you a friendly greeting.
You hesitantly walked again, being your usual carefree self but now being hyper aware in tracking the students around you. Your eyes widened.
There.
Had you blinked in that moment, you would have surely missed it, but a flash of red flitted around a corner of a hallway. You sighed and groaned inwardly.
Your classmates were right: you were going to die by the hands of a certain redhead.
This was the price you had to pay for not passing up the perfect opportunity for an iconic line.
---------
“Say,” you said turning to your friend once you entered your classroom. “Has Akashi ever shown a side other than being a calm freak?”
“I don’t know if you ever wanna see anything different than that,” she replied, looking up from her homework.
“Imagine him laughing, though. That’d be news of the century.”
“Dear god, I can’t imagine him laughing other than the kind of scheming cackle you’d get from the TV show villains.” You bursted into a fit of snorts while other students, who were secretly eavesdropping out of curiosity after hearing Akashi’s name, snickered.
Another student wedged himself into your conversation. “No one’s ever seen him show any side of him though. Honestly, he’s like a demon.”
“He’s a 1st year student just like the rest of us,” you chided. “Come on, he’s human too. He wasn’t born to be a calculating machine.”
Everyone in the vicinity gave you incredulous looks (for valid reasons, to be fair).
“Hmph!” You crossed your arms. “I’ll prove it to you guys! He’s not as stone-cold as you think!”
“(y-y/n)-san
” Your friend from earlier tugged onto your sleeve. “You’re really fun to hang around with and all, but
”
“Yeah, um
We know you’re competitive and don’t like to back down, but I think you shouldn’t tread into this type of
 dangerous territory.”
“Did you already forget what happened with Hayama-senpai yesterday?”
Pretty soon, a large chorus of agreements and mumbles spread throughout your class. Irked, you pouted as you continued to cross your arms.
“I’m gonna make him laugh, and I’ll do it.”
“Uh..”
“Um
”
No one had the heart to disagree with you when you looked like you sparked a fiery aura around yourself as you raised your fists, ready to take it as a challenge for yourself.
Your classmate sighed. Welp, there’s a reason why you got along with Hayama so well in the first place.
You were both so overly enthusiastic and reckless.
---------
You’ve been thrumming your fingers on your desk throughout your classes, staring blankly as you start stringing up ideas on how to accomplish your “challenge.”
Succeeding in making Akashi laugh is like Hayama agreeing to let the dentist extract his snaggletooth. You’re basically asking for the impossible.
Maybe you should’ve settled for a more realistic goal, but then again, this entire ordeal was an entire miracle on its own.
Ah ha. You stopped your finger taps, hitting a fist to your palm in realization. Maybe you just need to get a reaction out of him, and the rest will eventually fall into place.
At the same time, your friend looked at you in worry; you were making odd hand gestures and mumbling to yourself as you went too deep within your thoughts to regard your surroundings.
Oh dear.
---------
Once lunch began, you immediately left class after incoherent chants of “seeyah” and “gotta go” to go look for Hayama’s corpse and pay your respects for the poor 2nd year after yesterday.
You bought sweet bread from the student store for his offering before you went to look for him.
At the sight of the completely lethargic Hayama, you ran up to him in mock grief.
“Ah, spirit-sama!” you cried out, bowing with your hands clasped together (the bread secured in between). “Please at least tell me that Kota died peacefully—” He interrupted you with a chop to the head.
“Ow! Please don’t curse me, spirit! I didn’t treat him that poorly when he was alive
” You winced, rubbing your head in an attempt to soothe the impact.
“I’m not dead, idiot!” he retorted, but his banter lacked bite, and both of you knew why.
You sighed before you flashed him a genuine worried expression. “Are you okay, though?” You promptly handed him the bread, and he immediately did a 180, hooting and having starry eyes at the package.
“Of course I am,” he said, munching on the bread. “Not! He made me do so many extra drills and exercises that I seriously thought I was gonna die!”
“Okay, before you totally freak out, but please don’t freak out,” you started. You told him about your plan about Akashi.
“You’re gonna WHAT—”
“SHHHhhhHHH—” You clamped over his mouth despite him still chewing. “What did I just say?”
“Reo-nee! Ei-chan!” he called out while you still attempted to close his yapper. “Save meeeee!”
The said Uncrowned Kings nearby eyed you two before looking at each other and shrugged; they strolled up to you.
“Oh? (y/n)-chan?” Reo tucked his strands behind his ear. “Has he been causing a ruckus?”
“I have not—”
“Actually, since you’re here anyways, I wanna ask you all something,” you said. “What do you know about Akashi personally?”
“Huh?” was all you heard from the Uncrowned Kings.
“Well
” Reo hummed. “I might know a thing or two about Sei-chan
”
“I’ll just go get lunch,” Nebuya called out.
---------
Day 1 of the Challenge.
Thanks to Reo, you knew most of Akashi’s schedules so you can find the perfect opportunities to “safely” encounter him.
You waited behind a corner of the hall that you knew Akashi would walk through to get to the student council room during lunch. Peeking out, you looked for scarlet hair, ignoring the judgmental (and curious) glances thrown your way here and there.
The moment you saw that everyone instantly collectively vanished, you knew Akashi was extremely nearby. You took a huge breath, expanding your chest to the point of exaggeration, and turned around the corner to finally meet the infamous emperor.
You casually strolled, putting up an impeccable act that you were naturally there rather than staking out the same spot for 20 minutes.
There he is.
You purposely got closer, hoping the closeness between you two would catch his attention. He walked without a change in expression, however, impassively eyeing you before turning his gaze back to the front. That’s when you saw your opportunity.
You almost bumped into him, but you jumped away at the last second while putting your hands up in surrender.
“W-whoa! Wahh, sorry, Akashi-san!” you quickly apologized in a bow. “Luckily, I had my emperor’s eye to foresee the future and prevented any mishap on my part.” You peeked up from your position to see him standing with his back to you, head turned to the side.
A few beats of silence passed before he said, “Your head is too high.”
“Huh?” You were thrown off. That was the last thing you expected him to say. “Wouldn’t my head not be high because I’m bowing?”
He was still assessing you from the corner of his eye, and you willed yourself to return his stare.
“Stay out of my way.”
“Then you should take your own advice,” you huffed, getting up from your bow. “Yesterday morning, I knew you were watching me at some point before you disappeared.”
But he just turned his head back to the front and continued his intended course for the student council room.
Day 1 Results: he scared the daylights out of you instead of you trying to unnerve him.
---------
Day 2 of the Challenge.
What the hell did he mean by “your head is too high?” You still couldn’t decipher his cryptic line. Maybe he just said it to everyone, but that would be really corny of him; he wasn’t that type of person.
Did he think you were too much of a peasant to even talk to him?
You gritted your teeth. You weren’t gonna give up any time soon.
When everyone was dismissed after school, Hayama let you accompany him to Rakuzan’s spacious gym, under the belief that you were going to go home right after.
As soon as you were both in front of the bulky front doors, you marched right in, catching the blonde off guard so much at the fact that you waltzed in there (full knowing Akashi was in there). He couldn’t yank you out in time even with his lightning reflexes, and you skipped around, being careful to stay near the gym walls to not disrupt anyone. You plopped yourself on one of the further benches where you knew none of the players would ever sit, and as soon as you knew Akashi was in earshot (who was ignoring your existence), you smirked.
“Hey Kota!”
“Huh?” He looked up from rummaging through his duffel bag.
“I’ve heard shogi is being played a lot more by people our age for once, but don’t you think it’s such a dread to play such a dull hobby?”
“Yeah, righ—oh.” He swallowed back his answer in seeing Akashi behind you a few meters away, being as still as a statue.
You gleefully looked behind you, hoping for any entertaining response.
Without moving, he slinked his pupils to you before grabbing a water bottle and leaving.
“C-c-can you just drop this entire thing already?” Hayama runs to your side to give your shoulders a firm shake. “I swear to god, you’re not gonna live at this point!”
“You’re right,” you said. “Just for today, I’ll have to retreat before I’ll die.”
“Not just today!” He shook you harder. “I mean stop this for good!”
“Kota, I already signed a death certificate the moment I bumped into him yesterday. Might as well go all out.”
“Oh god, you started this yesterday?”
“Well, I gotta go! See you tomorrow!”
“... More like see you never.”
Day 2 Results: his reaction was inconclusive, but it was more of a failure than success.
---------
Day 3 of the Challenge.
You were pondering about how to annoy Akashi next, both excited and terrified about where this was going to end up.
“(l/n).”
“Y-yes?” You stood straight up from your seat the moment your homeroom teacher called you.
“During lunch, please make your way to the student council room. You’re needed.”
What in the world was going on?
You fidgeted in your seat for the next few hours, shooting anxious glances at the clock every so often. All your classmates’ words of encouragement went through one ear and out the other.
“You’ll be fine!”
“I’m sure a teacher just wants you to help out with some workload
”
“We’re rooting for you!”
As the lunch bell rang, you braced yourself before you promptly made your way to the room that reeked of that particular chilled atmosphere that repelled most students away.
You prodded the door open, slipped in, and softly clicked the door shut before turning around to face the poker-faced terror sitting on his desk, watching your every move.
“Right on time.”
“You called me here?”
Akashi paid no heed to your outburst and continued. “I’ll admit. I’m quite interested in you. You have the innate sense of magnetism that draws others in.”
D-did he just compliment you?
“I would like to put your leadership to the test. You’re now vice.”
“What? You can’t just make a decision like that!”
“I ordered him to quit. There shouldn’t be a problem.”
What the hell?
What the hell, what the hell, what the hell—
Akashi looked at you like he was peering into the depths of your conscience and simply gave a civil smile.
“I hope you will contribute greatly to this school.”
Day 3 Result: a miserable failure.
---------
Day 4 of the Challenge.
You’re stressed, and it’s all Akashi’s fault.
Which made you even more determined to ruffle his feathers and rile him up.
When news broke out of your new “promotion” as vice president, your classmates celebrated for you and your already high popularity skyrocketed. Your teachers didn’t want to hear you talking about quitting when you “haven’t tried anything yet to know if this job was for you.”
The Rakuzan’s basketball starters (minus Mayazumi) were initially ecstatic for you as well
until you told them about Akashi’s string-pullings.
“I’ll make sure Sei-chan won’t do anything, okay (y/n)-chan?”
“Thanks a bunch, Reo-kun
 or should I say
Reokunma (Rilakkuma bear)?” You snapped your fingers at him. He just stared at you and patted your head, totally disregarding the fact that you made a pun.
“Just pack in the muscles and you’ll have nothing to worry about!” Nebuya flexed his biceps before getting a scolding from Reo.
“Shortie! Call me whenever you need help!” Hayama dropped his elbow on top of your shoulder to emphasize his point.
“Argh, Kotarƍ! You’re not that much taller than me at all!” You rolled your eyes. “If anyone, why don’t you say that to Akashi?”
“Say what.”
Oh fuck.
“S-Sei-chan!...” Reo walked over to Akashi. “If you’re here for us, I thought practice didn’t start until much later!”
“I am here for (y/n).”
His irises contracted, highlighting his feline pupils. “I am depending on you as vice president to make this school an absolute powerhouse.”
He still somehow made that sound extremely condescending, like a king encouraging a mere peasant.
You were scared out of your wits, but you weren’t going to crumble so easily. Not until Akashi did first.
“Buh-bye, everyone! Good luck in practice later!”
. . .
The walk back to the office was painfully silent. You decided to break it.
“I’m not taking back what I said, prez, you’re a shortie.”
He paused in his steps. “You run your mouth while knowing no bounds.”
“You’re just a spoilsport, y’know.”
“My orders are absolute.”
“You know, you’re scary as shit, but the whole ‘absolute’ line kinda grows old when I hear it every time I talk to you.”
Palpable silence blanketed between the two of you once again at your words.
This guy can’t even crack no matter what you do.
You stepped into the office and followed him to his desk. He walked to grab a pen from a drawer before he approached you.
He stepped forward, thrusted the sleek, black fountain pen to your face, and jerked back the writing instrument at the last millisecond.
You froze, forgetting to breathe as you felt the pen nib harshly prodding the tip of your nose.
“Do not make me repeat myself. My orders are absolute.”
He then gave you some paperwork and assignments to complete like nothing ever transpired.
Day 4 Results: you thought being relentless in your attacks would prove beneficial, but you’re starting to regret everything.
---------
Day 5 of the Challenge.
Maybe you needed to avoid direct confrontation, but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t get a reaction from him in other ways.
One small perk of being vice was the fact that you no longer needed to tail around Akashi in order to bump into him “coincidentally,” but you’re not sure if this sole advantage could outweigh the disadvantages, particularly one that might result in your early death.
You’re frankly not as scared as you should be, even though you definitely were at those times you were with Akashi. If anything, it pissed you off that he’s always able to get you to jump out of your skin.
He’s just a 1st year. He’s just a 1st year.
You went to the student council room early to tape on a note to his desk, so there wouldn’t be a chance that it would “fall off his desk” and that “he didn’t see it.”
Roses are red,
I suppose you’re “absolute.”
You’ll still be knocked dead,
And there’ll be no dispute.
You snickered. It was too funny to pass up.
Before you left, you took the time to survey around and get a solid look at the office interiors for the first time (since Akashi’s presence made it impossible for anyone to not pay attention to him).
It was ridiculously tidy, all the wooden furniture polished to the point where their mahogany varnishes shined. Books were meticulously ordered by alphabetical order and genres, and they looked like they were all dusted at every free chance. The rugs showcased simple circles, but the minimalism of them added to the office’s air of crisp cleanliness. The gray curtains gently framed the wide window behind Akashi’s desk. But what really caught your eye was a board of shogi and its pieces tucked away in a corner on a high shelf.
Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to try knocking on Death’s door again.
. . .
Akashi’s shoe clicked on the floor as he opened the door. His steps continued to echo throughout the small room as he walked to his desk to start his work, that is, until he saw your note.
“Oh?” A grin snaked its way onto his face by the time he read the last line.
He severely underestimated you. You unexpectedly had tenacity.
No one has ever defied him repeatedly so openly before.
His expression put the notorious Cheshire cat to shame, his ulterior smile occupying half his face as his eyes widened in excitement equivalent to a predator.
Feeling pumped for the first time in a while, he decided to expend his energy on shogi. He carefully brought down the board and placed it onto his desk, going through the familiar motions of unpacking and setting up a game, before he froze.
There were various pencil doodles on each shogi piece. All of them were variants of :/ and :).
You were taking a jab at his personality as well as his mannerisms.
He barked an amused harsh laugh.
. . .
Day 5 Results: truth be told, you were too scared to see him face to face right after your double stunts; since you knew his schedules, you only came into the student council office when you knew he wasn’t inside.
---------
Day 6 of the Challenge.
Continuing to avoid him would already confirm to Akashi that you were actually shaken up by the high possibility of him retaliating, and you definitely weren’t about to give him the satisfaction.
You went to class as always, and by break, you feigned innocence as you strolled into the council room, seeing Akashi leaning against the table.
“Good morning, Akashi.”
He nodded in acknowledgment before he gave a full, predatory smile, his pupils focused on you.
“To continue to fuel diligent work, it’s beneficial to recognize one’s efforts by giving gifts.”
What? Was he not going to bring up what you did yesterday?
He pulled out a single red rose and gracefully tilted it for you to take. You warily plucked it out of his hand.
In a different context, it would’ve been sweet or even romantic, but you knew Akashi ticked a different tune.
“I do hope that you will continue to stay and become even more efficient with your work.”
You gazed at the rose at your hand, confused, as Akashi started walking back out, heading for the door.
You gasped.
“... Did you overhear our conversations the other day in the hallway?”
He chuckled.
“I know the future, because I am absolute.”
“Bastard.” You clicked your tongue, turning to Akashi. “You knew the entire time?”
“Shogi is easily applied to every aspect of life. Move the correct pieces and you will always win.”
You turned back around to avoid letting Akashi see you in an embarrassed state. He played you like an absolute fiddle.
You scowled, and you were about to cross your arms in defiance until the sunlight from the window cascaded on something where your “note” used to be.
“Akashi, what’s that on your desk?” You tentatively walked up to the table to see a stainless glass vase with a single dark burgundy dahlia resting daintily against the inner rim.
His hand was on the doorknob before he turned back to face you.
“Dahliang,” his tone of voice light, almost mockingly saccharine. “Do be careful from now on.”
He left.
Day 6 Results: he completely destroyed you at your own game and sealed the final nail to your coffin with a pun.
---------
End Note: Black dahlias (which are actually dark burgundy in color) symbolize signs of warning, betrayal, and other negative emotions.

You narrowed your eyes at your blondie boyfriend, who was currently gliding his skateboard over a pipe with ease. He seemed to sail through the sky with each kick flip and 180 kick flip he would do.
When he wasn’t playing basketball or lazing around the house with you, he was at the skate-park or up on the roofs of Kyoto, practicing his parkour skills. Needless to say, he was a daredevil, and he always tried to get you join him–just like now.
“C'mon, y/n! It’s just too much fun!” Hayama laughed, wiping the sweat from his forehead and plopping down next to you on the curb and slinging an arm around your shoulder. You’d been watching your kid boyfriend do countless tricks, both in skateboarding and parkour, and wondering how in the heck he still had this much energy after enduring Akashi’s hellish practices.
“Ko
it’s so hot and I’m
not good at whatever you’re doing so athletically.” You hugged your knees to your chest and continued to watch the other skaters in the park, admiring the way they could so skillfully kick and flip and fly through the air without falling or literally dying.
“Hey,” Hayama grabbed your chin with his fingers, making your cheeks slightly smush against your lips. He smiled at how adorable you looked before pressing his own lips to yours. The kiss tasted like sweat and excitement and you felt rejuvenated just by the lightning  that Hayama had struck you with through his kiss. “You can do anything you put your mind to.” He stood up and extended a hand toward you. “C'mon, I’ll teach ya.”
You were getting ready to refuse his efforts to get you to skateboard with him, but he looked so excited and so hopeful–you just couldn’t bear to let him down. You sighed and took his hand, letting him help you up. He gave you his helmet (which he only brought with him, since he thought he didn’t need it, and it didn’t make him look cool), and made sure it was nice and snug on your head before leading you over to the empty pool and showing you how you should bend your knees.
He jumped down into the cement pool and gazed up at you expectantly, that contagious smile of his shining almost as brightly as the sun beating down on you. His arms were stretched out toward you.
“I don’t want to get hurt!”
“You won’t get hurt. I promise, I’ll catch you no matter what!” Hayama soothed. You chewed on your lip and calculated how far you would fall if you managed to become separated from the skateboard or land wrong.
“Do you trust me?” He challenged. You narrowed your eyes at him, knowing you wouldn’t be able to back down from his challenge. You took a deep breath, and went for it; as soon as the front of the skateboard tipped over the edge of the pool, your feet separated from it and you were sent falling down into the pool with your eyes shut, thinking this was the end.
But you breathed a sigh of relief once you felt Hayama’s strong arms wrap around you and protect you from the impending doom that the cement floor offered.
“I told ya.” He nuzzled your neck with his nose, making you giggle. “I won’t let anything happen to you.”
