Expo2020: The South Korea Pavilion
The South Korea Pavilion stood as a magnificent testament to the rich and influential Korean culture at Expo2020 in Dubai. As an individual deeply captivated by the allure of Korean traditions and customs, this extraordinary pavilion was at the top of my must-visit list. Its sheer size and eye-catching spinning cubes made it impossible to ignore amidst the vast Expo grounds. The South Korea…

“oh my god! the bean is not under any construction anymore!” you point out, able to discern the article text under the glaring sun.
your friend nods, tired from the lack of food and wandering around in clothes not accustomed for the 60 degree temperature. you still were high on energy, the city and sunny autumn weather fueling your excitement; along with the anxiety fueling your flight response.
you sling your phone in your pant pocket as your other palm sweats against your sling bag—one you’ve been gripping ever since you entered the large city in fear of being pickpocketed. you pick up your pace absentmindedly as your friend trudges behind you.
you glance back at them. “since it’s a major tourist spot, no doubt they will have food.”
you could imagine a cartoon-ish sigh of relief exude from them as their own pace slightly picks up.
the gardens slowly wade behind you as you trudge through them, searching for any sign of a enormous metal bean. sweat glues your shirt to your back as your fingers trail against the leather portion of your bag.
after walking on a curved path beside the pavilion, your eyes blank out on the promised free bean. you've seen it before—a long time ago—but your friend has never seen the iconic tourist attraction.
although some conditions weren’t in your favor, you hoped they could at least enjoy seeing some things not everyone gets to. their immediate attention goes to the overpriced food trucks right beside it; however, knowing that both of you haven’t ate in 6 hours means money didn’t mean a thing.
they pat your shoulder. “i’m going to get a hot dog and a water, you want anything?” you shake your head, too entranced with the surroundings of everyone interacting.
“i’m fine—thank you though. i’ll be on the bench over there,” you reply wistfully.
your friend pretends to understand and strolls quickly to the nearest truck. in the meantime, you stand alone on the burning concrete sidewalk, enjoying the scenery.
the air seemed fresh next to the gardens, with the trees colliding alongside the massive skyscrapers, reaching to the clouds past the sky.
“ah—pardon me?” a man under a black hoodie jump-scares you, face flinching in response; your hands absentmindedly clasps your belongings.
you take a brief look at the tall tan man as he himself jumps a bit at your own response.
you chuckle before a light laugh escapes. “sorry! you scared me—is there anything i can help you with?”
he pauses. you discern his previously concerned eyes—the only part of his face you can see—as they focus on the ground before darting back up to meet yours once again. his eyes disappear behind a crinkle, forming smiles of their own you imagine.
he waves his hands, phone in one. “no no! i am sorry,” you can hear an accent, “i took picture of you—“
your brows furrow, lips pursing; he catches on immediately.
“oh um—“ he mutters something in another language which you can recognize as korean, “you looked really pretty.” your face turns hard pink and you hope he only believes it’s from the heat. “and the sun looked pretty and i had to take a photo, but i want your…support for it?”
it was obvious he wasn’t even sure of himself; the hands flailing from you to the sun and back to you says it all. you slowly nod, trying to understand his words. you glance to his eyes, searching for any soul behind them; that soul digs into your own for something sincere that you can’t quite place yet.
the world just seems to encapsulate you two as you can hear light scratching of his fingernails against his phone case, tugging your attention away to the new source. you can feel his gaze linger on your skin before he follows your gaze.
he almost yelps, “oh! here!” he scrambles to open his phone. as easy as it was to open a previously opened app, you linger yourself on his hands, seemingly red and scratchy.
you don’t even notice people briskly walking past you, staring in your direction; you don’t even notice another man, yet older and in all black clothing, walk over to the backside of the man you are talking to.
his phone is brazenly shoved into your face, forcing you to realize how close he has gotten to your right side. you could feel his quick breathing and additional warmth radiating from him; you wonder if you seemed to be the creep between the both of you. the blush returns as you force yourself to stand still. you look down to what he is showing you.
it’s a picture of you. where you were standing. he was right. the afternoon sun glow shined beside you onto the camera perfectly. the trees colliding alongside the massive skyscrapers, reaching to the clouds past the sky.
you swallow, noting your dry mouth. “wow—that’s. that’s really good.”
“right?” he isn’t looking at the photo anymore. he is slightly bending down, so you are able to meet his eyes as equals. he suddenly cuddles into his black jacket a bit more. “you like?”
you swallow again, “mhm! it’s amazing. candids really are something.” you mentally hit yourself with the stupidest remark.
he chuckles. “give me your phone.” your eyes widen. he chuckles again a bit louder but only audible to yourselves. “so you have the photo?”
your mouth opens and his eyes close in cheer. you fiddle through your pant’s side pocket to fish out your phone. once it resides in your palm and faces him for the next set of instructions, he tugs down the top and presses on the bluetooth icon.
you glance over at him as he adjusts his settings—confirming your suspicion that he did speak korean. he then lightly tugs your wrist, facing your phone towards him. he presses the phones together and you observe as the picture airdrops to your phone.
“oh my god..” you whisper. he chuckles, breath hitting your cheeks somehow through his mask. “i didn’t know it could do that—airdrop can be tricky for me.”
he hums in response. he glances briefly at the corners of your cheeks. “only for us.”
you look back up at him with a smile. “oh for sure! thank you so much!”
he waves and nods his head. “have a good day.”
the man behind him tugs his sweatshirt and they begin to quickly stroll away. not before he glances back at you and waves shyly.
you then look around yourself, noticing some girls were angling their phones at you.
“so what was happening over here?” you friend saunters over to you, hot dog in hand and two waters tucked into her side.
you let out a breathy chuckle out of disbelief. “some dude just took a gorgeous candid of me and sent it to me.”
your friend nods and smiles. “good for you! no doubt he liked you.” she hands you the extra water bottle.
“h-huh?” you stutter, eyes widen.
your friend chuckles. “your expressions are so funny sometimes.” they pat your back as you aggressively twist off the cap. you tilt your head back and chug part of the water. they pat your back again. “slow down, you don’t want to throw that up later because i am not cleaning that up.”
you nod, this time slowly swirling the cap around the grooves of the plastic bottle.
“now let me order that uber and you show me that so-called amazing photo.”
9:59 pm CST
“—NICE!” the fifth time the song rings out never gets old. as much as your bones are exhausted, you are determined to keep up.
getting to the venue was a hectic experience, but stepping to your almost-floor seats was a whole separate experience itself. the arena was smaller than expected, but the seats were in perfect view of the extended stage, especially during the encore.
a quick snap of your phone catches the image of that same man you met the previous day.
you didn’t register what completely happened till you arrived at your hotel room, until your friend showed you a specific member’s instagram story. the road signs may have looked familiar in the background, but you hit yourself mentally for recognizing the tan man.
now, in the concert hall, he never looked over in your direction; instead, he waved to the 200s and to the people on the floor, yet you still took his photo.
even if he never notices you or remembers you, you’re content with the thought of him doing something he loves and you being part of a fleeting moment only through his eyes.
.
.
“candids really are something.”

The County Fair
The day has finally arrived!! We were going to attend the County Fair! You were so excited and couldn’t wait to get dressed after your giant breakfast. You started to get dressed and the first pair of jeans didn't fit. The struggle got you winded and for a moment you really panicked because you thought you had gained again. You then realized that they were the last pair you outgrew .... Phew!!! You checked again and found a brand new pair of pants and a cute white top, and then came in the kitchen to help me pack some food for the trip. It was going to be a 30 min drive, maybe 45 with traffic. We packed some muffins, chips and cookies just in case.
We got in the SUV and headed down the road. I loved watching your belly shake and wobble when we hit bumps and was so glad you had room to sit comfortably. We sold our previous car about 6 months ago when you no longer fit. With you gaining so fast, this one should work for a while. About 10 min down the road you reached for the muffins and cookies and finished them all in a hurry.
Arriving at the fair, I dropped you off by the front entrance and then went to park. A good thing since it took me about 15 min to walk from the truck back to the entrance. You would need to save your steps as the fair grounds were big and your waddle was not geared for distances (or speed). You were sitting on a bench when I returned eating some funnel cake with powdered sugar that was sold just outside the gate. You were smiling, with some sugar around your lips ... so cute!
After buying tickets we walked in and started towards the main food area. I had to walk very slow so that you could keep up. You were doing pretty well. After about 2 minutes you asked to stop to look at a map. You were starting to sweat a little and wanted to catch your breath. I told you I knew where we were going but you had me double check to make sure we went the shortest route. After assuring you, we continued. We stopping again a few minutes later so you could try some bacon dipped in chocolate. So yummy, but a little messy. We sat down on a bench so you could eat it without it getting all over your white shirt. You did pretty well, spilling only tiny bit of chocolate by your collar.
We got up again and continued toward the food. It was so fun seeing all the people, hearing music, sounds from games and the popcorn machines. There was also an unmistakable aroma from all the foods, animals, hay and rides. It was a lot to take in. At first I really commended your willpower as we made it past the popcorn. I'm guessing you didn't see it?
Arriving at the main food pavilion, we got in line for some of the celebrity chef dishes. The lines were long, so I told you to find a seat and that I'd bring back the food. "Make sure you get something good" you said as you waddled towards the picnic tables. I watched you from a far navigating the picnic table and I was amazed how you figured it out. My guess is that getting out will be a lot harder.
As I waited in line, I couldn't help but notice how many other fat girls and guys there were. It seems like a perfect gathering place. One woman was holding about 4 plates and looked to be about your size. Another girl was much bigger, and was riding a scooter. Not a bad idea with all the walking needed. Her belly was pressing into the steering wheel and her hips and side belly far surpassed the width of the scooter. It was hot!
The first stand I got to had duck bacon wontons. The wontons were stuffed with duck bacon, grilled sweet corn, and cream cheese, and served with a creamy dipping sauce. I knew you would love it, so I picked up 3 servings.
At the next stand I picked up bacon-wrapped pork belly and mashed potato croquettes served on a skewer, topped with either home-style gravy, Korean bulgogi barbecue sauce, or sweet chili sauce. I got all 3 sauces in large cups so you could experiment. I picked up 3 of these also and headed over to you.
You were so excited to try the food! You were also a little upset I didn't get dessert. I mentioned that I thought we could get some later, but seeing how upset you were I headed back and picked up some Bowl o' Dough. Basically cookie dough in 3 flavors -- brownie batter swirl, European cookie butter, lemon ricotta cheesecake with blueberries. I got 3 of each.
You had already finished the wontons when I got back and were so excited about the cookie dough. I wasn't quite hungry yet, but had fun watching you stuff yourself. The pork belly was finished next and then you dove into the cookie dough. About 15 minutes later you were done. "Stuffed?" I asked. "far from it." you said as you tried to heave yourself up from the table. Uh oh. You your belly was stuck and wouldn't let your leg raise up enough to get out. I had suspected this wouldn't be easy. You tried again, leaning to side. Better, but it was so hard tho raise your leg! I let you regroup and then helped you by pulling your leg out and to the side. It worked and you got up sweating and winded. "Ugh. that was so tight!" you said. Lets go see the animals
It was clear that you were more full than you led onto, as your waddle was much slower and you were breathing heavier. I hated to see you uncomfortable and suggested we sit for a break. You happily obliged. "Wow, it's really hot here" you said panting. I agreed, but was honestly glad I was wearing a long sleeve shirt. 65 degrees is not hot to me.
After you caught your breath, we made our way towards the animals. On the way, I caught a stand in the distance and knew we had to stop. Fried Butter Balls. I chuckled. I had to see you eat those fat bombs. You couldn't believe they had them and were so excited to give them a try. I got you 3 servings and we sat down. "OMG these are good!!!" you said in between bites. "Get me more". I did, 5 more. You were eating like the pigs we were about to see.
After eating those you felt full. Lets just sit hear and listen to the music. The arena was close by and a band was playing. I said we could go in, but knowing the size of arena seats, agreed we should just chill and relax. There were picnic tables closer, but after the earlier fiasco the bench was a much safer bet. I rubbed your distended belly and we leaned into each other. So comfy.
About an hour or so later, we passed the heavy machinery section. You joked about needing the forklift to carry you around. haha. Getting tired from all the waddling today you were not happy. You saw another fat girl waddling that looked to be in a similar place. Who knew that you needed so much athleticism to attend the fair? We passed a log flume ride, which looked fun, however it would require way too much energy. It was also unclear if you would fit in the seat?
We arrived at another food court and you declared it time to feed. You sat down on a bench and I picked up a bunch of treats. Cheeseburgers with Fried Ice Cream, Deep-Fried Mashed Potatoes on a Stick, Krispy Kreme Hamburgers, Foot-long hot-dogs, Fried Oreos and Fried Twinkies.
You were pleased for sure with my choices and made your way through them without breaking stride. You especially loved the deep fried potatoes and Krispy Kreme Hamburgers. I went back and got you 3 more of each.
You were feeling very stuffed now and really just wanted to go home. I said that we needed to see the animals. You agreed and began the short slog waddle to the barn area. I noticed you now had ketchup, mustard and sauce on your shirt now in addition to the earlier spilled chocolate.
We finally got to the animals and grabbed a seat fully winded. You saw that there was Fried cheesecake and despite being stuffed just had had to try some. You said to just get one. I brought it and after the first bite you held up 2 fingers. "2 more". wow. this was sooo good.
I noticed your shirt was a lot tighter. Your belly was so distended from all the calories during your multiple feedings. You honestly looked like the pig who won the blue ribbon. Both of you were super fat and glowing!
After seeing the animals and eating the fried cheesecake, we walked very very slowly over to the gondola. / aerial lift ride that carried fairgoers across the grounds. You were soooo relieved that you wouldn't have to walk back!!! I was a little concerned about the weight limit in the car. Anyway, it dropped us right by the front gate. We got out, or should I say struggled out as the door was a bit of a squeeze for you.
I left you at the gate and went to go pick up the truck. I was hungry and grabbed some peanuts. When I returned you had a bag. "What's in the bag?" I asked. "Oh, just some food for home" you said. You had picked up deep-fried avocado, cream puffs, sweet corn ice cream and some Fried macaroni and cheese. "Awesome" I said, knowing that you would likely polish them off tonight.
"What a fun day" I said. "Yes, lets come back tomorrow" you replied before falling asleep on the short ride home.

On this day, 29 May 1931 a striking rubber worker, Kang Ju-ryong, in Japan-occupied Pyongyang, Korea, began a high-profile solo protest on the Ulmil Pavilion landmark. The pavilion, on a scenic park, was a popular spot for morning walks, so hundreds of people soon gathered to listen to Kang who delivered a powerful speech about the fate of rubber workers who were on strike in the city against pay cuts. Referred to by the nationalist journal Eastern Light as the "Woman-in-the Sky", Kang had got onto the roof by tying a stone to the end of a role of cotton cloth, throwing it at the roof until it caught then climbing up it like a rope. Dozens of police soon arrived, who then also summoned firefighters to get her down. But Kang said that she would jump from the roof to her death if anyone put up a ladder. With the background of the great depression, a strike had begun at the Korean-owned Pyongwon Rubber factory on May 17 in protest at pay cuts of 20-25% for its 49 women workers. The workers went on strike, and the company retaliated by firing the strikers and hiring scab replacement workers. The women then responded by occupying the factory on May 28, until they were evicted by the police. Kang remained on the roof for nine hours until firefighters snuck up on her and pushed her from the roof into a net which had been placed underneath her. The protest galvanised huge public support for the strikers. And despite police repression and multiple arrests, the strikers also had a lot of success in preventing scabs from getting to work by militant picket tactics, blocking tram lines, attacking trams, and in some cases abducting scab workers and forcing them to apologise. By early June strike achieved some concessions, including the rescinding of the pay cut, and the rehiring of the majority of the strikers who had been fired. a/n: so, we love crappy delusional family dynamics xx
Your uncle is an idiot. You’ll say it louder for those at the back who missed it, or over and over again to those who are late to the party. From his blotchy red face and the way he spittles a little when he talks, he makes you ill. Your cousin - his son - Minhwan had already made his paid sob story for the year to some South Korean tabloid for ten figures. So he would be funding a lot of his father’s silly campaigns and ventures. A portion of your own salary went towards the upkeep of the family, something you didn’t have the heart to get out of, even now. It was part of the reason why you lived in a rundown cottage from the late 60’s on the other side of the island. The other reason being freedom.
On top of this, you hated Saturdays. Mandatory appearance at the family estate or else someone would come by to escort you. Like a damn parole officer! You had tried getting out of it too many times before to no avail - no dog to eat your homework here, or flat tyre. Best to just bite the bullet and show up, if only for an hour.
Your uncle gives you a brief displeased glance over his tea. Chipped cup too. “Y/n. Glad to see you grace us with your presence.”
You reach for a biscuit on the coffee table. The room is always too dark. It’s not atmospheric or imposing, it’s musty. And an energy waster.
“My pleasure, uncle as always. How was your week?”
Your parents were on a round the world trip with some charity - very much not like the Chon family. But your mother was someone who married into the family, so she was a bit more altruistic. Your father, not so much. But he was weaker in will between the two of them, so she often made such choices.
“Fair, thank you. Minhwan is currently working with me to restore the estate. We have a roofer coming in the next few days to provide us a quote. Before you know it, the Chon Estate will be glowing with glory. Minhwan is trying his best to liaise with the royal family’s assistants for a place on the democratic council.” he preens.
Minhwan this - Minhwan that. You bury your smirk behind your chewing. Goodness they were all stupid. Democratic council…as if he could just walk in there and demand a spot that required a vote and a region to represent! Uncle will be saying that the sun shines from between his ass cheeks soon.
“I see,” you reply mildly, “Minhwan is quite busy.”
He hums content. “Yes, my son - the light of the Chon family. What about you? Minhwan’s wife had said you had made a…post? Of a very expensive dress on the Instant Gram. Where could you possibly get the money for such a thing?”
Your heart lurches and you curse her as you reach for your glass of lemonade. The ice clinks in the quiet. For some reason today everyone has eyes and ears on your conversation. Doesn’t make it easy to be nondescript.
“Oh, well the Genoa Post has an important event coming up. I’ve got the dress on loan from a friend of Wonwoo’s.” Not all a lie.
He sniffs, realising he can’t squeeze you for more money - probably for this place’s electric bill. “I see. That’s charitable of them. Please make sure that you set a good example as a member of the Chon family. I would hate to see a repeat of that Christmas party a few years ago.”
That actually makes two of you. No one wants to see you face down, ass up in the bushes of the Genoa Gardens Pavilion, throwing your guts up from a few too many glasses of champagne. It had put you off the bubbly drink for quite some time. Despite the mutual disdain, you take a sip of your lemonade, as nonplussed as you can.
“Of course, uncle. Would hate for my colleagues to air that out in the entertainment section the following news cycle.” You reply, like Wonwoo wasn’t your best friend.
He sneers a little but says nothing else.
You left no further room for discussion so he moves onto another member of the family who eagerly falls over themselves to talk about their half-baked connections to the Royal court. You’re glad your job in this house is seen as nothing more than frivolous tabloid gossip, severely unfounded (on a count of it being too nice about the Queen). You like to hide in shadows to save yourself from being used.
Finally, after watching the clock a little too closely, at one hour and one minute after arrival, you stand. Quite abruptly. Your uncle shoots you a look as you turn to return your glass to the kitchen - there was no hired help here on weekends so certainly no butler like “the good old days”. From there you returned and tipped your head in a bow.
“Thank you for having me. I need to get going - there was quite a bit of roadwork on the way here.” Absolute, shameless lie.
He levels you with a look, that sneer creeping back. “So soon?”
You nod firmly. “Yes.”
You made no opening for questioning or arguments. One hour, six minutes and counting!
“I see. Well, we will see you next week. Be sure to make enough time for travel in future.” He says. “Would hate to see you late in your busy schedule due to family commitments.”
It takes every ounce of your soul not to mock gag or roll your eyes. So you simper in contempt instead with puckered lips and squinted expression, turning on the heel of your boot for the foyer. You’re not even out the front door when you pull your phone out to scroll and block Minhwan’s wife from your profile - snitch.

Fans: Burn SM!
SM CEOs: Hey, smile for the camera, we are opening our own film studio.
There are 2 pavilions for shooting with chroma key screens, several fan-meeting (fancalls? countdown lives?) and conference rooms, dressing rooms, a workshop, and a large storage space. On the roof there is a lounge zone.

Costume Cdramas I watched in 2023
This was my first year in Dramaland (both Chinese and Korean). And I have to say that for the most part I have enjoyed my journey in discovering the dramas. This list includes dramas that were released before 2023 as well.
7. Starry Love
It is a story of twin sisters - the gentle and kind Liguang Qing Kui and the smart and cunning Liguang Ye Tan. Qing Kui is betrothed to the heveanly prince and Ye Tan is betrothed to the demon prince however mistakenly they switch places and have to navigate the heavenly realm and demon realm alone relying on their wits. For me the strongest aspect of the drama was the bond between the sisters. It focuses more on the romance of Ye Tan and Xuan Shang and the heavenly realm which I was not much interested in so I skipped through a lot of it. However, I did enjoy the romance of Qing Kui and Chao Feng and the demon realm story which was unfortunately not given enough screen time. As the heavenly realm part of the drama failed to get me invested in both its characters and story, I didn't enjoy this drama a lot.
6. Love you Seven Times
Xiang Yun, a fairy working in the marriage pavilion and Chu Kong, the God of War are accidentally entangled by the red thread of fate and go through love tribulations. I enjoyed their romance and the story was also good. However, I feel it would have turned out better if the drama had more episodes so that the tribulations could be more immersive and impactful. Also, it had less action than I expected from a Xianxia. It was still a fun watch for me.
5. Ancient Love Poetry
This is an epic story of gods and love spanning thousands of years. I will not even attempt to give a primer for its story. The romance, story, action everything is great and it also has really good secondary romances and friendships are also good. The problem I had with this drama is that I enjoyed the first God realm arc a lot however in the second arc I couldn't get fully invested in Houchi and Qing Mu. Also, as a novice to xianxias I had some trouble following the story from the second arc onwards which meant I couldn't enjoy it as much. I still consider it a must watch for xianxia fans but its not for newbies that's for sure.
P.S.- I was devastated with Yue Mi's death so I'm happy that we'll be getting the continuation of her story with Moonlight Mystique.
4. Love between Fairy and Devil
It is a drama about Orchid, a low ranking fairy and Dongfang Qing Cang, the Moon Supreme of the Moon Tribe who are enemies of the immortal fairies, and their forbidden romance. The romance (of both the main and second couple) is really good, the story is compelling and the dynamic between the main and secondary cast is enjoyable. I found the action somewhat lacking. This is a really enjoyable drama especially for those getting into xianxias as the story while not simple, is easy to follow.
3. Romance between Tiger and Rose
In this drama, Chen Xiao Qian, a screenwriter transported into her own story, becoming the Third Princess Chen Qian Qian, a side character. Armed with the knowledge of her own script in which her character is soon to be killed in the third episode by Prince Han Shuo, the male lead, Xiao Qian is determined to stay alive and return to her own world. It is an excellent romcom with great chemistry and fun bickering between the main leads. While the story is straight forward for the most part, it does offer some commentary on gender discrimination and gender norms. It is a really fun and a must watch and has great rewatch value.
2. Story of Kunning Palace
Jiang Xuening is the selfish and ambitious daughter of a court official who ruthlessly uses her charm and cunning for becoming empress. Her schemes lead to the downfall of the royal family and the ruin of both her childhood sweetheart Yan Lin and the once incorruptible Zhang Zhe. Desperate and full of regret, she pleads to exchange her life for the freedom of Zhang Zhe. She awakens in her 18-year old self, who has yet to enter the palace with a chance to do better this time. Even though she vows to steer clear of the palace and its court intrigues, she becomes entangled in them anyways. Apart from Jiang Xue Ning the main cast includes : Xie Wei - JXN's teacher and a ruthless political mastermind, Zhang Zhe - an upright and dedicated officer in the Ministry of Justice, Yan Lin - loyal heir of the Yan family who is in love with JXN, Shen Zhi Yi - the optimistic and resilient princess. It’s so rare for a drama to combine so many great things - a competent and smart female lead, gripping script, top tier looks, chemistry (with the male lead and the secondary leads), steady pace, no childishness, very happy ending. All the actors did an amazing job, in particular Bai Lu who embodied JXN and depicted her thoughts and feelings in a way that the audience could connect with JXN and root for her. The character arcs for the entire main cast were satisfying and done beautifully. I only wished that they showed the past life in one go and with some more scenes for JXN's character growth to be more impactful and that they removed the bright spotlight aimed directly at the camera which took me out of those scenes. This is definitely a must watch for costumed cdrama lovers.
1. Till the end of the moon
Li Susu, an immortal time travels 500 years into the past to prevent the ascension of the Devil god, who goes on to destroy the world in the future. It's a story of love and hate, good and evil, redemption and damnation. The characters are very well conceptualized and depicted beautifully by talented actors, stunning costumes, really good hair and makeup, and great cinematography. The amazing production and set design along with impressive visual effects and CGI really immerse the audience in the world of TTEOTM. Their romance is my ultimate enemies to lovers pairing. It has just the right amount of fighting, messiness, animosity and angst for me. Their visuals, their chemistry, their acting and the story everything was so great. Who else has three epic weddings in one drama? For the most part the story was gripping, progressed at a good pace and conveyed many themes that become apparent on rewatches. While some were disappointed by the ending to me it was clear that they reunite once again and live happily. I am still not able to move on from this couple and drama.
Full Review of Till the end of the moon here.
You can also check out my modern cdrama rankings.
As I'm still a newbie to cdramas, I welcome your recommendations.

State fair blogging as I pause for Pork Belly Onna Stick:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5791f83896546893267b716b8c996b7c/9b05799fe6cbc37f-73/s540x810/4a933516d3426157802a09f440d3856a2cda8a07.jpg)
It had Korean BBQ on it. Amazing.
We're minimizing livestock barns this year because @coffee-mage-sans-caffeine 's lungs are still sad from COVID, but they had Brabant horses and TWO Standardbreds at the horse barn and the pet pavilion had Schipperke and Puli as well as the GSD, Aussies, and Goldens I was honestly kind of meh on.
Watched a little dock diving exhibition between the dog shows on our way down. I'm hoping we can catch the disc exhibition
The MN State Fair has one of the biggest draft horse shows on the continent, so I got to see all manner of Clydes and Belgians and Perches in the stalls too while I was at it.

I also hit up the "Miracle of Birth" display, where you can watch livestock from a wide range of species either being newly born or giving birth. It's a really cool way to see things and it gives a ton of experience to vet students, who handle the babies, monitor the births, and show things off to fairgoers.
Next up: the "all the fresh milk you can drink for $2" booth. Mmmm.

SEAGULL X GUN.
"Ready...aim..and THRUST!"
seagull put in wind power in a spear move. Sweat emerged from his head. It was almost nighttime. it took all day to train with gun for an upcoming mission assigned in the deep voice of the master of black rabbit, gun clapped his hand.
"Ok, that's it for today, for doing a good job, following my movements, and following my training process as well, i will treat you to dinner today..it's all on me."
His palm reached to his forehead, the sweat slightly coating a part of his palm, but he was hungry and sore at the same time.
"Ahh. thank you gun, where are we going to eat at? Order some food in the golden Jade palace or a restaurant?"
the spear was put down in the weapons rack, a small towel scrubbed into seagull's face.
"Hmm... maybe a restaurant, we can go to the plum blossom pavilion or go get some noodles."
Gun closed the gates to black rabbit, I didn't take a while to go back to ilyang. Seagull thought about a lot of stuff about gun, how he was assigned to train you, how he treats you to a restaurant at first, and how he's a kind person that is a real one that protects his men, and the one that seen the real power of the errand boy that turned into a master. it shook him once they got to ilyang. it seems to be a event going on.
"Gun, ilyang seems to be crowded. What's going on?"
a slight look of blush took over his handsome face.
"ehm..it wasn't a treat, but I been stuck on the time to train you on whatever mission that crazy bastard gave us, so I found a event step up here this morning so I took up on the offer to take you there to spend time for you.."
a grin stuck to his face, his straightforward words took up to heart, chinese music played in the event.
Korean food smelt in the air of ilyang, the beauty of women kissed the men around the event, dango, traditional dancing, and a perfect chance to get some food. his voice spoke up at this.
"So seagull. where do you want to eat first?"
"Hmm... there is a chinese restaurant here so we can do that."
the doors opened to an open attire to the event. It was mainly red and orange. gun payed for the food.
"what do you want to order?"
there was a menu of many options, many options for food to eat, and definitely spring rolls too.
"Wonton soup."
"Coming right up sir♡"
an awkward silence. Once food was being made in the kitchen of this restaurant, gun spoke up first to shatter the silence like a fresh mirror.
"I wanted to thank you. For devoting yourself to getting stronger and trying your best to remain in rank of black rabbit, I trained you strong enough to go up against the heavenly generals in a 5v1. but it isn't just training too."
"Hm? What do you mean??"
"What I mean.. I mean that it's unfair that I kept my true feelings from you because I'm afraid it was jeopardized in our training cycle.."
their food came in before Seagull could say a word.
"No no..it's ok to express what you need to say towards me. and what feelings?"
His face almost turned pink.
"it's feelings of.....what I'm trying to say is that I had a liking to you all this time... even if it means ignoring and cussing out people who don't support the IGBT and people who don't appreciate others being happy with their sexuality."
a warm laughter spilled out of seagull's voice.
"mhm..so are you saying you want to be in a relationship with me..?"
He nodded with his adorable face, filling his face with some Chinese chicken.
"Let's speak about it more after dinner. ok?"
It was 2 hours later, and the event was still railing the streets of ilyang with the music. they walked back to black rabbit, they didn't say a word to each other for the walk back to the clan.
"Thank you for taking me out for dinner, gun. I really appreciate it♡'
his warm hand went to his cheek, facing his brown eyes, his lips crashed into seagull. he pulled away, covering his mouth out of embarrassment.
"Yes..I do want to be in a relationship with you so.."
(Sorry, it's short, but hopefully, it's good enough)
