Hello I love bane totally normal amounts, so do you have any favorite fun (or fucked up) trivia facts about my emotional support god of tyranny?
I might've mentioned some of this before, but here's some trivia (and sometimes my musings upon it):
He has absolutely no indoor voice when he's excited. -
If you're invited to pray with the Banites and refuse, expect Bane to curse you with constant debilitating pain that prevents you from being able to cast spells (too much pain to concentrate) or fight, or walk very fast. This doesn't go away until you get a cleric to cast remove curse on you. If you do join them in honouring the Black Lord then your alignment will magically switch to lawful evil and you basically convert to Banite on the spot (if you're a priest then your god fires you immediately and won't take you back); this is either 1e nonsense or a sign of Bane brainwashing you, and either is just as likely. -
He - in his own words - has an "ever-gnawing hunger for miracles and wonder". He also has 10 levels of wizard, which might tie into that. -
He seems to have a monster making hobby. There are so many monsters and monster variants that have been copyrighted by Bane it's ridiculous: banedead, baneguard, baneliches, banelar nagas... I'm pretty sure that Bane is actually credited with creating the beholders ("eye tyrants") of Toril, though I don't have the time to go looking for a source on that.
Either way; he has a lot of beholders in his service. -
I'm pretty sure I remember something about his inventing his own traps during his stay at Zhentil Keep, so there might be an engineering hobby in there somewhere. -
He's a nerd about human biology and geeks out about blood cells and neuroscience - not that he'd admit it because the idea of being thrilled by mortality terrifies him (also I think he just hates positive emotions in general). Before the Time of Troubles he used to enjoy possessing mortals as hosts instead of manifesting avatars, which would presumably allow him to experience what they did and geek out about it while pretending he wasn't (although he didn't look after them very well and inevitably ran them into the ground - basic human needs are beneath him). -
He seems to like using black and red lightning of some sort as a kind of signature. -
(...I think this guy would be very happy as a supervillain living in his secret lab somewhere, performing mad scientist experiments as he plots to take over the world.) -
His domain can be annoying to pin down, because technically it started off in the plane of Acheron, but he's also supposed to be rooming with Loviatar and Bhaal in the Barrens of Doom and Despair in Gehenna, so who knows! -
He has a pet raven called Koravis, who he has a mild telepathic connection with. This raven is actually a fiend in the shape of a raven, but that pretty much just means he has an evil pet raven.
It's been stated that in his mortal life his character class was Blackguard - or an evil paladin, in 5e terms, dedicated to the service of evil powers. I suspect his patron was his master, the primordial Maram, who he served as a battle slave. As the evil pet raven is a Blackguard class feature (fiendish servant) I suspect he had Koravis when he was mortal. The bird/fiend was likely given to him by Maram (much like a warlock's pact familiar comes from their patron) and I guess the bird stuck with the winner. -
He managed to piss off the earth goddess Chauntea at one point, trying to destroy her sacred pools/portals in the Moonshaes. I can't find the sourcebook for the details at the moment though (it was successful enough that his followers still have the moonveil spells though). Bhaal was also trying to kill her over there at some point, so I wonder if that's connected?

I’ve been binge watching 2D1N Season 4 lately so here’s a Koravi hehe Ravi imagine 😉 bear with me this is my first imagine😅
(: Ravi had a radio guesting and was home very late the night before they need to shoot 2D1N so he was running late... )
You were woken up by the sound of your phone ringing. When you saw the caller ID, it was Ravi’s manager.
“(Y/N)-shi, is Ravi awake? We need to go to KBS for 2D1N, we’re already running late and he isn’t picking up”
“Ehh~ don’t worry Manager-nim, you guys go ahead just send me the directions and I’ll drive him there.”
(End of call)
“Wonsik you gotta wake up baby, you have to shoot 2D1N”
Instead of getting up, Ravi pulled you back to bed and nestled in your chest mumbling things you didn’t understand
“Jagi, we gotta go, i’m driving you there” you coaxed the sleepy Ravi
“Are you gonna be with me there, love?” Looking up at you and trying to act cute hoping that you’ll be with him during the shoot “ani i’m gonna be taking care of our baby🐶” you replied. You pulled Ravi up and practically dragged him out of the house and into the car. During the car ride to KBS, you can’t help but smile on how cute he looks sleeping at the same time feel worried for him thinking that he might not get to eat a lot if he doesn’t win challenges (games) and/or missions.
You pulled up to the parking space and saw Dindin and SeonHo, walking and talking towards where your car is parked. Ravi shook awake and immediately looked out the window looking like a lost puppy. He climbed out of the car, not forgetting to kiss your cheeks. He came to you through the drivers window after calling out to Dindin and Seonho, leaning against it. “Jagi, stay for a bit, yeah? I know you can’t resist me” wiggling his eyebrows and chuckling about what he said. As he said this Dindin and Seonho also cam up to the window and greeted you.
“Ravi-yah you’re so clingy, (Y/N) also needs to take a break taking care of you, eh?” Dindin said this laughing at Ravi’s face with Seonho laughing with him. “Yaaaaaaaah, you don’t understand because you don’t have a girlfriend” Ravi bickered back. You were laughing along with Seonho while Dindin looks disheartened. You climbed out the car and tagged along with the boys to wait for shooting to begin. As you walked in a cafeteria, an array of hellos and greetings welcomed you including a Moon Seyoon shouting “ahhhh Koravi arrived and brought (Y/N) with him to make Jongmin jealous” earning a series of laughs to the 2D1N staff and a loud shout from Jongmin. You made your way to the side leaving Ravi with the boys and joined Ravi’s staff along the row of seats. You were happily chatting with Ravi’s writer talking about your work when Ravi decided to be a clingy baby in public, hugging your waist sideways and leaning against you. While you were continuing your discussion he holds your hand trying to gain attention pinching it ever so softly and brushing your palm with his fingers. Writer-nim laughed at Ravi’s attempt to get your attention and just decided to excuse herself chuckling at Ravi.
“Wonsik, my son, whats wrong?” You asked him laughing as you speak and tangling your fingers in his hair. “Stay. I know you’re leaving in a little while but how about if I win rock paper scissors you stay until lunch” he proposes. “Okay” you agreed and both of you played rock paper scissors. Eventually Ravi lost to you and well he didnt take it lightly. You said goodbye to the staff and the boys, with Ravi walking you to the car.
“*humming* hmm take care. Bye. Loveyou. Drive safe. Call me.” He says to you quietly and you can’t help but laugh at your boyfriend feeling so glum loosing to a game of rock paper scissors. You hugged Ravi tightly whispering sweet nothings to him and encouraging him to win so he can eat good food and rest comfortably tonight. He let go of you reluctantly kissing you lightly as you were in public, exchanging i love you’s and watched you get inside the car and drove home.
Arriving home you changed and checked your phone only to be bombarded by a series of texts from Smiley PD. Sending you a glum pic of Ravi.
“(Y/N), Ravi is bummed and Dindin keeps on teasing him about you leaving and not coming back”
“Sending you a picture of him as proof”
“Moon Seyoon joined in the fun now all the boys are at it, should we air this?😂”
Reading all the messages from PD-nim, you got a message from Ravi.
“Jagi? The boys keep teasing but I’ll be fine, i’ll make sure to win and eat good food, but if I can’t, cook me good food tomorrow yeah? I love you so much and I miss you because I didn’t have enough cuddles.
xoxoxo

D: I’m no stranger to being sent gift from secret admirers. I’ve been sent flowers and presents from admirers hoping to catch my eye since I became king.
D: But this...I don’t think this person quite understands what they just sent to me. Yes, Koravi flowers are quite lovely, but that really isn’t the point.
#ic: Deus#If you really don't know...#While Koravi flowers are known for calming properties when made into tea..#...it seems. that quite a few don't realize that the meaning boils down to....*sigh* ''get fucked''#It doesn't help that the flower is also a. rather powerful aphrodisiac when ingested directly.#Sigh...

hello! first off i love your blog so thank you for all your amazing content! second, i was wondering if you (maybe with the help of your followers in case it's too much work) would mind listing the nicknames for all the s4 members that they all came up with for each other over the course of the episodes - sometimes i dont understand what they mean in english since i'm still new to korean. like i know 'yeol jeong hoon' comes from 'yeol jeong' which means 'passion' or 'enthusiasm' but like? what about 'koravi'? the subtitles don't even translate this. sorry if this is a bother, thank you anyways for all your hard work! and have a nice day ~
good question! thank u for this ask and here’s a non-exhaustive list:
(and thank you @maisarasora and @kdramapsycho for the help!)
junghoon:

도둑 (doduk): means thief, referring to how he "stole" one of the nation's most beautiful actresses, han gain, as a wife

seyoon:
돼지 (dwaeji): means pig

seonho:
예능 뽀시래기/예.뽀. (yeneung pposiraegi/ye.ppo.): meaning entertainment cutie, referring to his entertainment newbie days. when shortened, sounds like 예뻐 (yeppeo) which means pretty

Pro Kabaddi 2019 Highlights | Gujarat Fortunegiants Vs Patna Pirates | M123
'Record-Breaker’ Pardeep continues to shine as Patna Pirates sink Gujarat Fortunegiants More GB almost scored a double of a Super 10 and High 5 in a single match but fell just one tackle point short. Another masterful raiding performance from Pardeep Narwal saw Patna Pirates win a back-and-forth thriller against Gujarat Fortunegiants by a scoreline of 39-33 at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida on Saturday. More GB put in a brilliant all-round performance for Gujarat Fortunegiants and almost finished with a double of a Super 10 and a High 5 but fell just one tackle point short. Sonu and Rohit Gulia gave Gujarat Fortunegiants a bright start but ‘Record-Breaker’ Pardeep Narwal helped Patna Pirates level the score at 5-5 in the fourth minute. Patna Pirates then took the lead through Pardeep but consecutive Super Tackles, first on Pardeep and then Mohammad Maghsoudlou, helped Gujarat Fortunegiants fight back. More GB followed that up with four successful raids and a Super Tackle on Pardeep with three minutes left in the half to keep Gujarat Fortunegiants ahead. Gulia added another raid point to his kitty from there as Gujarat Fortunegiants took a 19-14 lead at halftime. Another successful raid by More early in the second half paved the way for a Patna Pirates All Out via Rohit Gulia’s two-point raid. This gave Gujarat Fortunegiants an 11-point advantage. Pardeep reached his Super 10 just three minutes later, cutting the deficit to 7 points and, three more successful raids later, inflicted the All Out back on Gujarat Fortunegiants to give his team a one-point lead. The following minutes stayed close as Gujarat Fortunegiants sent Pardeep packing through Pankaj’s tackle to take the lead, but Maghsoudlou’s two-point raid wrestled the lead back to Patna Pirates just moments later. Jaideep’s successful tackle on Gulia brought Pardeep back on the mat and the ‘Record-Breaker’ immediately made good use of the revival to get a touch on Ruturaj Koravi and extend Patna Pirates’ lead. Parvesh Bhainswal’s tackle on Pardeep with just two minutes left to play seemed to have won the match for Gujarat Fortunegiants, but Jang Kun Lee came in to replace Purna Singh and immediately picked up a touch to revive his skipper and level the scores at 33-33. Maghsoudlou’s strong Ankle Hold on More, followed by Pardeep’s two-point raid, all but sealed it for Patna Pirates from there and Monu’s tackle on Pankaj as the clock ran down helped the team inflict an All Out on Gujarat Fortunegiants and walk away with a six-point win. Pro Kabaddi 2019 Highlights | U Mumba Vs Gujarat Fortunegiants | M102
Pro Kabaddi 2019 Highlights | U Mumba Vs Gujarat Fortunegiants | M102
[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] U Mumba rise to fourth in the standings after win over Gujarat Fortunegiants Abhishek Singh’s Super 10 helps U Mumba to a 31-25 win over Gujarat Fortunegiants. U Mumba moved to fourth in the vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 7 standings after a 31-25 win over Gujarat Fortunegiants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday. Abhishek Singh picked up a Super 10 and Surinder Singh was U Mumba’s most efficient defender with four tackle points. Gujarat Fortunegiants picked up the first couple of points of the match and enjoyed the better of opening exchanges. They had a narrow 5-3 lead after the first five minutes, but U Mumba grew into the game and tied to contest at 5-5 before Gujarat Fortunegiants could build on their lead. U Mumba then got their noses in front going into the last 10 minutes of the half and took control of the contest momentarily by inflicting an All-Out to take a 11-6 lead. However, unfazed and with their confidence still intact, Gujarat Fortunegiants came roaring back into the match and tied things up at 12-12. They went on to enforce an All-Out soon after thanks to a two-point raid by Rohit Gulia that made it 16-14 in favour of his side. The final few minutes of the first period though saw U Mumba score two unanswered points to stick with the ebb-and-flow nature of the encounter and make it 16-16 at halftime. The opening 10 minutes of the second period were similar to the first half with neither team managing to create a big lead at any point as the score remained tied at 20-20 heading into the final quarter of the match. A two-point raid by Abhishek with six minutes left to play, however, gave U Mumba some momentum. A successful tackle by Surinder in the subsequent raid then extended U Mumba’s advantage to three points, while also reducing Gujarat Fortunegiants to three men on court. Back-to-back successful raids by Abhishek shortly after reduced Gujarat Fortunegiants to a sole man and eventually helped U Mumba enforce another All-Out to take a 29-23 lead with a little less than two and a half minutes left on the clock. Gujarat Fortunegiants continued to fight till the end and looked to keep the margin of defeat minimal, while U Mumba aimed at running down the clock. U Mumba eventually registered a six-point win, meaning Gujarat Fortunegiants got a point, while Tamil Thalaivas became the first team to get knocked out of playoff contention this season.
