Happy Shimo✨🩵
Had a random thought of drawing Shimo (hadn’t had sudden idea to do it until now lol). She was a lot of fun to do actually. Part of it is that i like to think that now she’s living happy being free & just generally being able to do & see more things on her own. That & also i do enjoy how others draw her (& also motivated me to try it for myself). I have my own figurine of Shimo (i mostly used that as reference) that i have on my desk so i got to basically look at her more (more just so i can draw her ^^::)
She’s a very happy & cheerful kaiju (thats how i like to see things) after GxK & ofc spending it with both Kong & Suko
[Bonus note: i actually feel proud of this!!!]

My brother and a few friends were having a big fight on if Doctor Who should be considered as a tokusatsu show or not. My brother’s argument was that if King Kong is considered as tokusatsu then so should Doctor Who be.
This fight resulted in a few of my brother’s Warhammer figurines getting incinerated via a flamethrower.

I think that it's so hard to buy gifts for gen x and older millennial parents/friends is because they were basically taught/told by their boomer parents that you just didn't have interests or hobbies when you grow up. Like "oh you like playing mario now, well get it all done because once you have a job no time for that." Or "oh you're really into collecting fossils, well adults can't have cool interests so better sell all those fossils when you get married and start a family."
But younger millennials and gen Z don't really care? We just kind of keep our hobbies and interests. And that's evident by the fact that more lego sets are bought by adults these days, game consols are also marketed towards adults, many toys are bought by adults, and there are so many adults that go to cons/Disney/Universal. Because we understand that you can still like Donkey Kong and have a 401k. You can still have a light saber collection and also work in finance. You can still have a ton of bird themed decorations and also be a mother of 4.
TLDR: keep your hobbies and your niche interests. They make you cool. Says the job having adult who collects dinosaur figurines, has a multi-amusement park season pass, and still draws dragons.

My current Crash Bandicoot collection as of December 2024!! :DDD
more detail on each item under the cut :3 ⬇️
Tumblr media
The PS1 games - I only have the PAL version of each, specifically the Australian releases (for obvious reasons)
Tumblr media
The PS2 (and Xbox) games - I have the PAL and Japanese versions of each, as well as the obscure Korean and Taiwanese/Hong Kong releases of Wrath of Cortex.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Japanese GBA games (and manuals of the PAL versions for two of them...) as well as the Boom Bang, in both Australian and Japanese flavours. The Japanese version is a special release which came with a cute Crash DS stylus.
Tumblr media
And the post-revival games - all on PS4.
Tumblr media
My Japanese strategy guides - we have the original trilogy, ctr, wrath of cortex and the first two GBA games. First three are by Famitsu, second three are by V Jump Books, last one is by Konami.
Tumblr media
The art book for Crash 4, as well as the little sand timer that came as a game pre-order bonus
Tumblr media
2021 Nanoblocks - I have the full set here. Photographed on my shelf rather than my bed because these things fall over and explode into pieces if you so much as look at them funny.
Tumblr media
2018 Totaku figurines - full set.
Tumblr media
2022 Headstart action figures. I have the full first wave here, but there's also a larger "deluxe" crash and a multi pack I don't have.
Tumblr media
2019 Numskull incense burner. Protip - do NOT actually use this as an incense burner. I tried once and the bottom started melting. At least it's a decent display statue.
Tumblr media
Youtooz figurines - I only have the 2020 Tawna and the 2022 "Woah" Crash. Missing everything else.
Tumblr media
2019 Crash and Aku Aku deluxe action figure. Crash has turned around in the box because I cut the wires and took him out a couple times.
Tumblr media
2023 Headstart RC kart. Uses the Crash 4 model with CTR NF branding. Inch resting.
Tumblr media
2020 Numskull statue. I like this one a lot and it's fairly inexpensive.
Tumblr media
Obligatory Funko pops. You know how it is.
Tumblr media
Headstart blind box figurines - wave 1 (2022) on the left, wave 2 (2024) on the right. Both are incomplete because blind boxes scare me, but at least there's Catbat.
Tumblr media
2018 Kidrobot plushies. Technically incomplete because I don't have the stupid "crazy eye" Crash variant but who cares.
Tumblr media
2022 Headstart plush, both 8 inch and 12 inch variants. Don't talk to me or my son ever again.
Tumblr media
2007 Kellytoy 28 inch Crash plush. He is large and I love him.
Tumblr media
2001 Hunter Leisure Crash plush.
Tumblr media
Newest addition to my collection - a 2024 Bandai Namco Crash plush! The first Japanese-style plush made after the revival.
Tumblr media
Assorted crap - we have a Paladone TNT lamp, Numskull crate mugs, and the Wumpa flavour Crash 4 G-Fuel can.

+++++++++++ KAWS is an American graffiti artist and designer known for his toys, paintings, and prints. Born Brian Donnelly on November 4, 1974 in Jersey City, NJ, KAWS graduated with a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York and went on to work in animation. “When your whole art is based on the lettering you choose, you kinda figure out what ones work together. I just liked the shapes of the k, a, w, s,” he explained of his moniker. Having started as a graffiti artist in New York in the early 1990s, KAWS began reworking advertisements in his distinctive style. Pop Art and culture permeate his cartoonish Companion series of figurines, which bear a resemblance to the works of  Takashi Murakami.KAWS worked together with Nike in 2017 to produce an Air Jordan 4 shoe and has done multiple collaborations with the clothing brand Uniqlo, continuing to blur the boundaries between fine and commercial art. The artist is also known for his large scale public installations, such as 2019’s KAWS: Holiday which was installed in the Hong Kong harbor during Basel Hong Kong. In 2019, THE KAWS ALBUM (2005) sold at auction for a record $14.8 million, breaking his previous record of $2.7 million which was set in 2018. This work is a take on the Beatles' famous 1967 album cover for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, but instead replaced with characters from The Simpsons with the artist's signature Xs drawn across their eyes and skull. After years in the industry, KAWS gained approval from his peers in the street art world and more recently prestige from the museum and gallery worlds. Today, his work can be found in the collections at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and the Rosenblum Collection in Paris. KAWS currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

(I)dentity
Two stuffed tigers and three tiger figurines decorate the shelf above my desk, all five intentionally given to me because, every year,
in late January or early February, I tell people: I am a Tiger. The third of twelve animal signs in the Chinese zodiac. I receive red packets and well wishes from relatives, because
I am Chinese. But in what sense? I have an official Chinese name, but not even my parents use that name to address me, the name for which
they carefully selected the characters, to bless me with the meaning.
I speak English as a first language, but the way I enunciate my consonants and my syntax makes people question my upbringing as a local. Living abroad for one year as a 5-year-old, I soaked up someone else's accent and bits of their culture.
For one year in my teens, my family sang the national anthem of the country where I turned 6 years old. Land of the free, home of the brave. But we haven't lived there since.
Who am I, really?
I have relatives in other countries.
In Hong Kong,
I struggle with speaking Cantonese. My taste palette is different. I do not enjoy red bean soup. The moment I speak, any illusions that I am local are shattered.
In China,
I struggle with more advanced vocabulary when speaking Mandarin. I am Chinese, but in what sense? I am a foreigner here.
In Malaysia,
my grandparents left behind family on both sides. I have relatives whose relation to me I am unsure of. They speak Chinese dialects. I do not know how to address them when I meet them.
In Australia,
when I meet my extended family once every few years, we exchange hugs and we comment about the differences in weather, what counts as a long commute, and the type of English spoken in each other's countries.
I speak Singlish sometimes, the pidgin that is a symbol of my nationality. I am reminded that I hold one of the most powerful
passports in the world. When I make friends from other countries, they praise my country's cleanliness, safety, transport, and airport.
I am Singaporean.
But if my history had gone differently, would my national day still be 9 August?
Every year,
I see the red and white flag in the wind.
One white crescent moon and five white stars against a red background,
The plain white lower half of the flag.
The flag I know and love, decorating doors and windows of my fellow citizens.
Everywhere I go,
this is what I know.
I am Singaporean.

Still drinking at the same Resto Bar for the last 11 years. DLSU-D days palang dito na kami dumidiretso tuwing friday after class or every weekends. Yung mga college friends ko kasi noon mga nagbabanda or mga singer sa org tapos ako naman madalas mag-tune ng mga ampli nila kasi sablay naman minsan magtimpla yung mga providers ng sounds sa uni noon. Kaya mas prefer namin yung mga may karaoke talaga that time puntahan kesa clubs.
Ngayon, na-realize ko naging core ng friendship that time yung music kaya kami nagkasama-sama. Engineering ako, sila naman Political Science, Psychology, Marketing, Business Administration tapos nagkakilala lang kami kasi isa lang yung madalas namin kainan malapit sa Gate 1 noon.

During the Hong Kong hotel infiltration in the Webtoon Seri (@serikachan) asked Biwan (@oOZLo) whether the kids would wear this *points at anime maid gun girl figurine* outfit and was immediately told to give up on her idea.
She then drew the S-Classes in maid dresses, realized it’s “frilly hell” and that abandoning the idea was the right thing to do.
