Thank you to everyone who reblogged/replied to the last post, it means a lot to me! I'm still fairly busy but I wanted to get at least one more sketch for you guys, so here's a simple comic for the AU.
For some more context, despite "passing" after only a decade with Muzan, Kokushibo left a very lasting impression on him for the future. As the sole man who nursed Muzan back to health after fighting Yoriichi, as well as giving him exclusive information as an insider in the Corps, drafting strategies to dispose of Demon Slayers (especially Sun Breathing swordsmen), and possible locations to start searching for the blue spider lily, Muzan considers him the epitome of devotion and usefulness in a subordinate.
When Kokushibo reported seeing Yoriichi in a nearby town and then later disappeared that same week, Muzan was very uncomfortable with the feelings of loss and grief. As a result of his denial, he still claims the place of Upper Moon One is occupied for no one else to take, ever. He is confident that Kokushibo will come back eventually. Until then, he uses him as the measure of a good employee for the other moons, which can be frustrating for them.
Anyways, you might notice Upper Two and Upper Three are on slightly better terms. They aren't friends per se but they both started their climb up the ladder fairly close to each other in this story, as well as running missions together, so they hold a neutral stance on each other. As personable as Douma is, Akaza doesn't really interact with his coworkers, so Douma considers himself his one friend. They will occasionally have their spats but they're generally amicable.
I would write more but I think that will do ^^ feel free to ask about anything, I mostly have this AU on the backburner so there's a lot of scripted short events that I can cover, even if they aren't fully connected.

Okay hear me out!
Sanegiyuu, they're dating. Giyuu makes ohagi for Sanemi and they eat it while on a date and it tastes like his mother and that makes Sanemi cry.
i don't wanna talk about this rq being from october
It had taken much effort on Giyuu's part. He'd gone as far as hiring Mitsuri as his teacher (he actually paid her) to learn, taking several days and wasting many ingredients before he perfected it. Sort of. But the lopsided group of ohagi was better than nothing, and Giyuu gratefully thanked Mitsuri before hurrying off with his bundle of sweets. He was late in arriving and Sanemi was evidently impatient, tapping his foot as he waited for Giyuu. He looked slightly relieved when Giyuu appeared, but masked it with his irritation.
"Took your sweet fuckin' time," he grunted, but took Giyuu's outstretched hand so they could start on their way.
Giyuu apologized, tucking the bag of ohagi into his sleeve.
Somewhere during the date, he got tired of trying to hide it and presented it to Sanemi. Sanemi took it curiously, unwrapping the cloth and peeking into the container.
"Ohagi?" he asked, peering at it suspiciously.
Giyuu nodded sheepishly. "I made it," he explained. "Kanroji helped me."
"Oh." Sanemi paused. "Kanroji?"
"I didn't know who else could make it..."
Apparently finding this reasonable, Sanemi opened the container and picked one up, pretending not to cringe when it ungracefully nearly fell apart. But he ate it, finishing the first ohagi and humming to himself. Giyuu waited nervously, watching as Sanemi paused. There seemed to be very little reaction at first, but then Sanemi picked up another ohagi, this time taking longer to eat it. He looked almost lost, a bit in his own world as he chewed.
Unable to wait much longer (and just getting worried it was terrible), Giyuu mumbled, "Is it okay?"
He took the container back, a bit fidgety, and picked one of the not-quite-dense enough mochi balls and bit into it. It seemed fine, really. It seemed a touch too sweet, but it certainly was better than he'd expected it. What with Sanemi's silent reaction.
"I- I like it," Sanemi finally said, swallowing. His voice seemed tense, a bit off. He drank some water quickly and Giyuu brushed it off as the ohagi being too dry, or something.
"You do?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I do." Sanemi ducked his head down, finishing his second ohagi.
Giyuu frowned. "Are you okay?" he fretted, concerned. Was Sanemi sick? Had the ohagi made him sick?? Oh, god, maybe it did. ...could someone get sick that quickly?
Sanemi nodded. "'m fine. Sorry. One moment." He took in a shaky breath. Turning slightly so he was angled subtly away from Giyuu, he swiped at his eyes with the hand he hadn't used for the ohagi, swallowing again.
It took a moment for Giyuu to place that. It hit him as familiar, but he only understood a minute later that—"Are you... crying?" he blurted out, immediately regretting his words. He was such an idiot for just-
Sanemi grumbled. "No. I'm not," he huffed. He looked up then, at least, which only proved Giyuu right. His eyes were vaguely glassed over, and he was blinking quickly. "I'm not," he insisted, when Giyuu couldn't suppress a knowing look.
With the concern for Sanemi and worry that it was his own fault, Giyuu opened his arms. Sanemi hesitated only a moment before sinking into the embrace, burying his head into Giyuu's shoulder so he could hide his head.
"I'm not fucking crying," he grumbled, voice muffled by Giyuu's haori. Still, he clung onto him for several minutes until his breathing seemed to steady out. Then he sat up, pointedly turned away to rub at his eyes, then looked back at Giyuu.
"What happened?" Giyuu asked, forgetting that he should maybe just leave it be. But Sanemi answered, picking up Giyuu's half eaten ohagi and finishing it to busy himself.
"Nothing." Then, only a second later: "My mom used to make ohagi. When I was younger."
Giyuu took a moment to process that. He knew that Sanemi's only living family member was Genya (despite the protests), so that meant that his mother must've died. Which made him feel terrible for making ohagi—although he wondered, briefly, why Sanemi ate it so much if memories rose like that from Giyuu's shitty attempt at ohagi.
Sanemi continued, ignorant of Giyuu's thoughts. "She used to make it real sweet 'cause we couldn't have things like that a lot. Ohagi was always my favorite of the ones she made and she sometimes let us help make it with her," he mumbled. "Some of them were like these—kinda fucked up and distorted. But it just. Reminded me of them. Didn't mean'ta... uh. Yeah."
"Oh."
"'Oh,'" Sanemi mocked, rolling his eyes.
Giyuu pouted. "Sorry, uhm. It's okay. I'm sorry that I made you think of that," he said quickly. "I'm glad you didn't get sick or something, though."
"Sick?" Sanemi scrunched his nose. "From what?"
"The ohagi."
"You can't... get sick that quickly..." he said, raising an eyebrow. Then he grinned. "Fuckin' dumbass."
"Hey! I made you ohagi...!" Giyuu protested, ducking away from Sanemi's playful but dangerous hand.
Sanemi scoffed. "And made me cry, yeah," he grunted. He ignored Giyuu's pointed look at his admission, and went on. "Let's just finish and then go to your house. I bet you made a mess while making this and forgot to clean it up."
Giyuu stayed quiet, knowing full well Sanemi was right. Instead of answering, he helped Sanemi settled back down so they could finish eating. He made a quick, mental note to add extra sugar just for Sanemi, if he ever made ohagi again.

The cool side characters will be the fan favourites, but you, soft boy MMCs who choose to be kind despite the world being nothing but cruel to you, whose goodness you fought tooth and nail to preserve despite it all is not a weakness but a testament to your own strength, who love your friends and family like it's breathing, shall be mine.

does anyone else get really annoyed when someone tags a fic on ao3/any website as an 'x reader' but the reader has a decided appearance + name? like it's just an oc at that point 😭
or when it's an oc x canon and it gets tagged as 'x reader' like no, that's original character x canon try again!!
"it can be read as an x reader!!" you have a name and appearance for the character, that is NOT me 😭🙏 i also feel this way because of the other poc readers out there. i'm not demanding inclusion, i just feel like things should be tagged properly 😥
this is not to hate on oc x canon stories btw !! i'm very much obsessed with reading them and i love creating silly ocs and characters :3 i just don't like being mislead, it kills me on the inside
tl;dr: plz tag things more properly 🙏🙏

It’s literally so hard to not get attached to fictional characters that you can relate to in one way or another. And though I may relate a lot to certain characters these two genuine make me cry at night.
Tumblr media
Thinking about how distance and closed off their relationship was broke me. Like the miscommunication made me so sick. I just wanted them to talk it out and move on but sadly jealousy wouldn’t let that happen. Michikatsu Tsugikuni was a bad person but I can’t help loving him just as much as Yoriichi loved him. In the end they’re just two brothers that do love each other deeply.

Endouma is a terrible ship, and here is why.
‼️WARNING‼️: Post not only contains semi spoilers for KNY, but it also contains mentions of things like suicide, depression and noncon/sexual assault. If you are uncomfortable with those topics, please refrain from reading.
TLDR: Enmu and Douma are not compatible with each other because that ship is mostly built up on fetished MLM tropes, overly sexualized versions of the characters and the romanticization of SA.
(God, I feel like I have been posting nothing but hot takes on this account as of late. I promise I will go back to posting art, cosplays, and more just chill stuff after this.)
Enmu and Douma are not characters that should not be shipped together, for multiple reasons. Starting off, THEY ARE NOTHING ALIKE!!!! I don’t know where or how it was decided that they were alike, or that Enmu is “Douma 2.0”, but it makes no sense. While both are meant to be irredeemable monsters, Enmu was an irredeemable monster from the get go. From what we know about his backstory, he knew he was scamming people and targeting the weak and vulnerable for it. Douma’s backstory goes a bit more in depth and explains that he was put into the role of “all mighty god” as a child, which lead to the power of it going to his head as he grew up. Douma was still an impressionable child who was failed by the adults around him, and as he grew up he took on some of those same traits as the adults he was surrounded by. The bottom line is this: Douma, while a shitty person, still has some way to sympathize with him, Enmu does not, and thats just on the story side of things.
Enmu and Douma also share nothing in common personality wise. On face value, they may kinda act similar (i.e how they talk (sorta)) but it really just stops there. Enmu ultimately had a goal to kill Tanjiro and gain more blood from Muzan so he could climb the ranks of the demon hierarchy. He wanted to gain more power and to overthrow one of the upper moons for the sake of power. He doesn’t care how many people he has to torment, hurt or kill, as long as he has spot in power, he is happy, hell, he literally has vulnerable and even sick children do his dirty work! Enmu is a sick and twisted individual and he prides himself on that. Douma on the other hand put on the happy and up beat facade to hide that he knows he was failed. Douma is aware he was failed as a human, and so he decided to fail his followers by being the embodiment of false hope. He plays into the false icon lifestyle by pretending to be hopeful and happy around his followers and even the other demons to an extent. He doesn’t care so much about power, rather he cares more about control. Douma keeps up his false religion persona to keep control over his followers. He knows he’s failing them, but he doesn’t want to lose the control he has over them.
Now onto the elephant in the room: the mischaracterization I’ve seen of both of them in the Endouma ship. In both fanart and fanfics I’ve seen and read (well more so forced down my throat since thats all I’ve seen with Enmu in recent times) both Enmu and Douma are mischaracterized to high hell just so we as the reader/viewer will feel pity for them. I’ve seen more of this with Enmu, in that all the stuff that made him unique from the other KNY demons is stripped away so his “savior boyfriend” Douma can comfort him and coddle him. Now, writing an AU is one thing, but if you’re just going to make content of the ship with the characters as they are in the series, then their actual personalities should be honored or at the very least acknowledged.
Going more in depth about the mischaracterizing I’ve been seeing with Enmu, almost all (ALMOST all, not all in general) Endouma content I’ve seen have made him either a depressed and anxious baby that Douma is meant to coddle, or an overly fetishized hyper feminine man thats there simply for sexual reasons. It just goes against their roles in the story of KNY.
Going off of the hyper feminine man mischaracterization of Enmu I’ve seen in regards to the Endouma ship, having him be pretty much a “femboy” not only contradicts him as a character, but it also is pushing toxic heteronormativity on a queer relationship. Making Enmu essentially the “woman”, while putting toxic heteronormativity in a very much MLM ship, it also just boils him down to a sex object and nothing else. Now, I will not say that portraying Enmu as a very sexual and even gross character is wrong, because there were plenty of scenes in KNY of him that had very sexual and perverted undertones, but that is what they were, undertones. There is more to his character than just the sexual undertones he has (as I stated earlier when describing him), and by boiling him down to a “sex doll” for Douma just kind of shows that there wasn’t much of an understanding of his character while making the ship art or a fic. He is much more than a sex object.
Moving onto the mischaracterization I’ve seen of Douma, while not nearly as bad as Enmu, it still feels very off from his character. Making Douma someone who GENUINELY cares for another person is also very contradictory to how he acts in the series. He is someone who cares very little for anyone he comes to meet, whether it be his followers or other demons. Now you may be asking “but, Ink! Douma saw Daki and Gyutaro when they were on the verge of death and decided to save them!” Which is exactly what I am talking about. The only reason he “saved” them was to keep up his facade of a savior and to get himself “brownie points” (for lac of a better term) so his public appearance would look good. Because he cared very little for Daki and Gyutaro, it shows that he only cares about looking like a good person and nothing else. Portraying him as essentially “Enmu’s therapist” that coddles him and such just feels weird. Douma has no emotional connections to anyone, so why would he have an enmotional connection to a demon that is considered lower than him?
Now similar to what I said about Enmu earlier, Douma is also much more than a sex obsessed pervert. Douma being portrayed as basically a male nymphomaniac in the Endouma ship is a very strange way to portray his character. Yes, he may have been fine with letting women seek refuge in his temple, but again, it was to make him seem and look like a good person. We should all know, or at least have the understanding that Douma is literally a woman eater. The women he houses in his temple ultimately have the fate of being nothing more than food. Viewing his reason for taking in women as something sexually driven is a complete misunderstanding of his actions. This misunderstanding of Douma paired with the sexual misunderstanding of Enmu not only creates a toxic relationship, but it also fetishizes and sexualizes MLM pairings. This is something I’ve noticed more in Endouma art, but a lot of it that I have seen feels very fetish-y. I can’t go too in-depth about this aspect, as I am a queer woman, but the way the ship is portrayed in a lot of the art I have seen of it feels as though it is pandering to the appeal of yaoi obsessed straight girls. While yaoi has been a term used for decades to refer to MLM based pairings in media like anime and manga, over the past couple of years, its meaning has become more based around fetishizing MLM pairings rather than just being about MLM pairings.
I now want to bring up something that I’ve seen associated with Endouma (and also the Enmuzan ship, but that is a topic for another time) that really makes me uncomfortable, and that is noncon and the romanization sexual assault. I don’t want to talk too much about this topic, as it is not only triggering for me, but it should also be common sense that fetishizing sexual assault is wrong. Again, this is more so something I have seen in artwork, but it seems almost normalized for Douma to be portrayed forcing himself onto Enmu. Now, I know you are all probably saying “Ink, if you don’t like it/are triggered by it, then don’t interact with it”, but when its all that has been made in regards to newer Enmu content as of late, and how people are hyping it up, its kind of hard to avoid. It makes me truly question just how many people really missed the point of their characters, and only focused on things like Enmu being more androgynous, and Douma being tall and muscular. In a general sense, if a ship is built on, or is popular from fetishized and romanticized sexual assault, it shouldn’t be a ship.
Finally, I just want to mention that these characters have NEVER once interacted in canon. I know that hasn’t stopped people from shipping characters before, but it’s just something I want bring up. (As well as the fact that the Upper Moon’s hate the Lower Moons)
I want to end off this post by saying that all of this is by no means targeted at a specific person, nor am I trying to say that my opinion is correct. I am just stating my own opinions and just stating observations I have made after being in the KNY/Enmu fanbase for nearly 4 years now. People are allowed to ship characters together (within reason) however they like, but just be aware of how it will look on your own part, and what views it may look like you have.

every day i loose my mind a little bit more thinking about rengoku kyojuro so here's an analysis of "where is your rider" by the oh hellos and how i relate it to his character
Tumblr media
these lyrics could refer to rengoku upholding his father's legacy and the times where people mistake him for his father. there are two big instances of this that i know of: the elderly woman in mugen train and the former lower rank two demon from rengoku's spinoff chapter*.
in the genius annotation of this song, the line "but i know that wicked shape to your smile" is a reference to the previous song in the album, "pale white horse", and the crooked smile of death. this line could also relate to rengoku realizing that he is unlikely to survive the battle with akaza-- as a demon slayer and a hashira, he is very familiar with death and might know when it is coming. if you REALLY wanted to get into specifics, you could also argue that the line above it, "see, your face wasn't quite as i remember" could refer to the sickness and death of his mother-- with that context, this would mean that rengoku saw death up close in the form of watching his mother pass and now recognizes that it is coming for him.
*i haven't been able to get my hands on this myself so this info comes from the kny wiki
Tumblr media
rengoku's self-sacrificial and selfless nature!! this is so him!! "so bury me as it pleases you lover / at sea, or deep within the catacomb" could be the uncertainty of a demon slayer's life and the constant threat of death that they face. rengoku worked tirelessly as a slayer and was well aware that he was likely going to die on the job, likely somewhere out of his control and far away from his home.
"but these bones never rested while living" is literally every hashira idk what to tell you just trust me this is the most rengoku lyric to ever lyric
if you wanted, you could also see the last line as akaza calling for rengoku to become a demon and not squander his potential; instead of "languishing in repose" (becoming weaker with time) he should preserve his strength. it could also be akaza asking rengoku directly, "how can you stand becoming weaker with age/time when you have so much strength?"
Tumblr media
the first line is again a reference to "pale white horse", which establishes "the cavalry" as death. if we continue with our previous metaphor for death being akaza, this section of the song can be focused on akaza and rengoku's battle and their warring philosophies.
i like to wrap the first and second lines ("he has thrown down the cavalry as gravel sinks / and as the stone founders underneath the sundered sea of red and reed") into general "ooo big fight", but i'd be really interested to see if anyone had anything to add to these lyrics!!
finally, "the shadow of hades is fading / for he has cast down leviathan, the tyrant, and the horse and rider". the song originally contains this segment to emphasize jesus christ's defeat of death through his resurrection with the "horse and rider" referring to death again. however, for rengoku (who did NOT beat death smh) i think that this instead refers to his life & purpose fighting demons. "the shadow of hades is fading" is about his FEAR of death fading because he knows that saving the lives of the people around him is more important.
"For he has cast down Leviathan, the tyrant, and the horse and rider" could be some of his past achievements as a demon slayer if you stretch it a bit! this section of the song is the hardest for me to explain, so i apologize if it's a little iffy compared to the rest
Tumblr media
"he will hold with all of his might the armies of night" is his battle with akaza (akaza, as an upper moon, being the "armies of night"). following that, "still as boulders laid to the side 'til we pass by" could be his motivation to defeat akaza-- protecting the train passengers and tanjiro, zenitsu, & inosuke.
an alternative perspective (because i have a lot of those apparently) is that the "armies of night" are demons as a whole and this refers to his career as a demon slayer overall. he neutralizes demons, rendering them "still as boulders" so that others can go about their lives without fear (pass by).
Tumblr media
finally, i see this chunk as relating to rengoku's legacy and his impact on the main cast (mainly tanjiro).
"he has hoisted out of the mire every child" is him saving not only saving the passengers of the mugen train but also guiding and mentoring tanjiro, inosuke, and zenitsu throughout the mugen train arc. ("every child" being the main trio-- not as much nezuko unfortunately but i still love her).
"so lift your voice with timbrel and lyre" represents tanjiro's growth as a person and as a demon slayer following rengoku's mentorship and death. he promises to honor rengoku's sacrifice and legacy by "lifting his voice" to become a better and more dedicated protector.
"we will abide, we will abide, we will abide" is tanjiro specifically promising to carry rengoku's final words with him, literally abiding by his final words: set your heart ablaze.
in conclusion,

Zenitsu haters are very stupid
They really are. They are completely devoid of media literacy and it shows. They're literally out here claiming he did shit that never even happened, stripping other characters of their agency to demonize Zenitsu, and ignoring literal canon that proves them wrong.
Like, if they'd just say they didn't care for his arc, that'd be one thing, but it's always demonizing him for showing autistic traits. As an autistic woman who has trouble picking up on boundaries and when people are uncomfortable, I'd. Really appreciate it people would listen when I say something is ableist.
And that's not even ADDRESSING the classism a lot of Zenitsu hate delves into. Or the victim-blaming.

Hiii I really like your fics! They can be so cute and so angsty and I always enjoy reading them! <3
if possible, could you maybe write something for Gentan where Genya wakes up after a nightmare and panics and Tanjiro calms him down and then just holds him? I totally get it if you’re busy but if you’re willing to write this I’d be really grateful and excited to read it :)
HIIII ><!! soso happy you like my writing,, & i'll do my best w/ this!! thank u for giving me an excuse to write gentan
the butterfly mansion was quiet when genya woke up, but he barely noticed the silence, shooting up in his bed. the frame creaked with his movement and he flinched, a hand fisting the fabric of his shirt. his breath came short, and it took him a moment to realize he had absolutely no control of it anymore. at that thought, panic surged through him and his chest constricted, throat tightening. he tried desperately to gasp for air, eyes shutting tightly, but that proved to worsen it, allowing the darkness to be flooded with incoherent flashes of color. he vaguely registered sanemi's voice ringing in his ears, and then a hand on his back.
instantly, his body tensed, but he forced his eyes open, turning to look up. panting for air, it took him a moment to notice the boy who sat beside him on his cot. but when his gaze focused, he found himself relaxing involuntarily, blinking quickly.
"t- tanjiro?" he gasped, trembling slightly. the sheets moved and genya shuffled to the side. tanjiro opened his arms, encouraging him forward. genya hesitated, trying to steady his breathing. when neither of them moved, tanjiro sighed and let his arms drop. instead, he patted genya's shoulder.
"it's okay, genya," he assured him. likely grasping genya's difficulty in breathing, he held out his hands instead, visibly relieved when genya placed his own hands in the smaller boy's. tanjiro smiled gently, squeezing genya's hands lightly. "alright, can you try breathing deeply. watch me, okay? breathe in slowly when i do, and exhale with me."
genya didn't nod, but tanjiro went ahead, sucking in an almost comically long breath. nevertheless, genya followed. he imitated tanjiro in breathing out, and they began to create a pattern until genya was able to slump against the bunched up blanket.
he let his hands slip out of tanjiro's, eyes flicking away. now that he'd gotten ahold of himself—and his conscience wasn't as muddled anymore—his cheeks rose in heat. he must seem pathetic for letting something as insignificant as a nightmare get the better of him and his hard-worked for control. but he mumbled something of gratitude, deciding tanjiro deserved that at the very least.
"no worries," tanjiro assured him. "are you okay?"
"fine. i'm fine," genya muttered, tugging the blanket up. he considered something for a moment, before offering it to tanjiro.
tanjiro beamed, for some reason, and snuggled up against genya so they could both fit under the blanket.
"if you say you are, then i'll take your word for it. but if you want to talk about anything, or just sit here with me, i'm completely open!" tanjiro insisted, tilting his head up to gaze at genya with his wide, pomegranate eyes.
genya nodded slowly, humming. "can you... uh...?"
"mm?" tanjiro looked at him, full of curiosity.
"...stay here?" genya finished meekly. "for a bit. you can sleep here, if you're tired. or, uh. just go back. if you want."
tanjiro's smile grew much too wide, and he all but scooped genya up into a hug, ecstatic. "of course!" he said, then quickly hushed himself, shooting a look over to where inosuke and zenitsu were sleeping. once he was sure they hadn't woken, he continued, his voice softer now. "i'd love to stay here with you. in all honesty, it was hard to sleep for me. and i'm glad i could help genya in the process."
"you couldn't sleep?" genya asked, curious. in his inquiry, he forgot to pull away, instead sinking into the embrace. "why not?"
"oh! well, i had a dream or something that kept me up. i can't remember it anymore, but i was a little distressed," tanjiro said sheepishly, shrugging. "sometimes, i feel like it comes with being a demon slayer. or maybe its my brain telling me there's something i have to acknowledge so i can feel better, i think? it's hard to say. but, yes, i was just awake and then noticed you were, also."
"oh." genya inspected him for a moment. it was hard to tell tanjiro, ever the cheery boy, had recently awoken from some nightmare. "i hope it wasn't too bad."
"nope! i was able to calm down," tanjiro said, tightening the hug around genya. "but i do feel a bit better being with you. it's comforting, because i know you're so amazing and it feels like you could ward off any bad feelings."
"oh...?" genya cocked his head to the side, unsure what he should say to that. then he realized tanjiro was currently hugging his lungs out and wriggled out, batting tanjiro away. "you're... squeezing my life out."
tanjiro scooted back, eyes wide, lips forming the smallest of a frown. "oh, no, i'm sorry!" he said quickly. "i got distracted in being happy that you were letting me sit next to you—"
genya sighed, shifting on the bed to sit vertically. he ushered tanjiro over, encouraging him to sit beside him. "'s fine. you can stay here, as long as you don't strangle me again."
instantly, tanjiro perked up, an almost smug smile brightening his face as he closed his eyes, leaning against genya. "works for me," he decided. "you can hug me, though, if you wanna."
scrunching his nose up, genya shook his head. "no, thank you."
"..okay."
"okay."
genya sat patiently, eyes closed as he allowed his mind to calm. somewhere through the night, he realized tanjiro's body had begun to completely depend on genya to stay up, and that the boy had fallen asleep. against his own instincts, genya took tanjiro into his arms, patting him gently.
"...alright. take two on sleeping," he murmured to himself. "'night, tanjiro."
