These were some of the evenings that were your favorite. Just you and your friends by the fire, nothing to extravagant. Just taking the piss and messing about at the end of the day. They were also your favorite because you often ended up in this position. Lying with your back against Mattheo's, one or both of his arms wrapped around your middle.

You'd gotten the question a million times, 'Why don't you just date already'. Truly you didn't have an answer, but you were happy to get to be like this with him, platonic or not. Really it was because you got to aimlessly play with his hands, and you were obsessed. How could anyone not be?

They were big, and strong. The veins on the top showing just enough to be sexy and not enough to gross you out. His palms were rough from years of quidditch but you loved how it felt against your soft ones. His fingers were so...long...and they had you thinking other types of thoughts that would surely have you hiding in shame if anyone found out.

Mattheo didn't mind either. You playing with his hands. He loves how small and delicate yours looked next to his. You relished in this freedom. Lacing your fingers with his, tracing the scars along his knuckes, running your fingers along different veins until they disappears into his forearm or to his fingers. Usually you did this without any reaction from Mattheo. And that's what you were expecting today as well.

But you must have overly distracted yourself with his Greek God hands in yours, not paying attention to the conversation around you. Suddently Mattheo's hand flexed, veins becoming more prominent and forearm feeling strong in your palm. A small gasp escaped your lips before turning your head slightly to catch his eyes. Mattheo, of course, was smirking, "Theo asked you a question, love." You turned your gaze, finding the Italian adorning his own smirk before you responded sheepishly, "Sorry, Teddy."

My least favorite common typos ranked:

5) Ehr. Not so bad, but I do this every time I try to type 'her' and I find it all over my damn drafts.

4) Imedietly. I spell it this way every single time. It's my brand at this point. I truly think this is the superior spelling.

3) Foll. Meant to be fool. Really, I tend to do this with any repeating-letter word. Bokk. Rool. Eeg. Etc, etc.

2) Knucked. No idea why I can't remember the L in knuckled, but 'white-knucked grip' pops up at least once in all of my drafts.

1) Glenched. I hate this so much. Terrible mouth feel. Makes me wanna glench my teeth it's so bad.

I got into Sonic recently when a friend showed us Netflix’s ‘Sonic Prime’, and I just had to draw how I imagined the gang to look like as humans!! So here are some gijinka studies :3

SONIC

NOTE: I imagine he’d do street art and have spray paint stains all the time. He’s got headphones, probably to block out noise once in a while, especially when running the track. Idk if athletes actually can wear these on the track, but it’s a nice thought.

NOTE: I think this was my favorite outfit to draw, especially his shoes!! Emo skater boy realness.

AMY

NOTE: Dear Ames was so fun to draw, mostly because of her hair and her pose. She’s so cute. I debated on giving her a new outfit but decided her red dress was adorable; I just added the pink tights last minute cause I thought it’d be cute as well. I LOVE her boots.

TAILS

NOTE: My boy. My darling. My baby. I was immediately reminded of Hiro Hamada and little Nico di Angelo when I met Tails, so I had to incorporate my favs into this study somehow. Iykyk. I thought making his hair have white tips (like the og Tails’ two tails) was clever xD

ROUGE

NOTE: MOTHER. She is so. Ugh. I LOVE her. I added the bat because. Bat. Aren’t I so clever (Don’t answer that). I like to think that she does everyone’s nails, tattoos, and piercings. She’s got her apartment open for the gang to hang out whenever; she adores them and they love her sm. (Same) Also PEAK fashion sense!!

KNUCKLES

NOTE: My man!!! Knucks was the most fun to draw, tbh. His shoes are so silly, his colors are so vibrant and strong, and I love drawing him looking serious when I know he’s my goofy goober. (I mean yes he’s more than capable of knuckle-yeeting me into Kingdom Come, but he’s still my silly not-little guy)

Done with standing next to her mom when her dad is right. There.

DONE with Lio getting to go into the locker room with her dad and uncle while she has to stay with mommy. 

So when mama isn’t looking, she books it. Her little legs pump hard as she weaves through the various clumps of adults waiting in the main gathering area, up the ramp, to the locker room door where a man stands in front.

“Hi, my daddy is in there.” She points. The security guard knows her, has seen her with Timo countless times throughout his long career in jersey.

“Okay, but where is your mama?”

“Um, down there. She said I could go to him.” Liv lies boldly. 

“Oh okay.” He opens the door, letting Liv dash in.

Inside, she finds her dad surrounded by media personnel. He stands at his locker, in his sweaty post-game clothes, backwards hat on with two hands on his hips as he answers questions.

“Yeah, I mean, I think we need to keep focusing on playing our game from the drop of the puck. When we play like that, things go our way and it allows…” He lifts his gaze to the doorway, seeing his daughter, with the Devils logo on her cheek and her small jersey with Daddy and 28 on the back. “Livy?” He questions. “Can you guys let my daughter in for a second? Sorry.” He kneels down to her level. “Where is mommy?”

She knows better than to lie to her daddy like she did to the security guard. She brushes that off completely. 

“I miss you. Can we go home now?”

The reporters awe. 

“Not yet.” Timo chuckles. “Wanna sit in my locker and wait for me?”

“Yeah.” 

Timo takes her hand and helps her crawl into his spot on the bench. She glances over to the left, seeing her uncle Nico looking at her. 

“You want a snack?” Nico asks, holding up a cutie to her. He knows they’re her favorite fruit. She grins widely, snatching it from his hand. 

“Liv.” Timo corrects, a hand on her head between her two, high pigtails.

“Danke!” 

“Gern geschehen, Lieblingsnichte.” Nico gives her knucks, then resumes taking his other shin pad off.

Liv munches on her orange as she watches her dad answer interview questions. Timo strategically places his body to hide her from the cameras, asking everyone to keep her out of their frames. They all oblige, understanding how private the Meiers are about their children. 

“Thanks, Timo.” The group calls as he finishes his last answer.

“Thank you all. Sorry for the interruption.” He chuckles, turning to his daughter. “Okay, we need to get you back to mama. I’m sure she is worried.” His look is pointed to her. He grabs a pair of shorts, stuffing his feet into his Adidas slides, then puts his sweatshirt over his large shoulders. He helps Liv off the big bench, holding her hand out of the locker room with so many people moving around. Emma is outside the door, arms crossed over her chest, glaring. She zones in on Liv, then looks at her husband. 

“Thanks for the heads up!” Emma snaps at him.

“Baby, I was doing interviews, we just got done.”

“Liv, if you ever.. and I mean, EVER, run away from me again like that here, that will be your last game of daddy’s you watch live. You scared me!” Emma is clearly upset, scolding their daughter in frantic Swiss German. Timo feels bad that he continued his interviews without telling his wife their daughter was with him. 

“Sorry, mama.” Liv shrugs. Oh, she is most definitely not sorry. Emma pauses, stopping her reaction, then stands to her full height.

“Hurry up.” She snaps at Timo instead.

“I feel like you’re mad at me and I didn’t do anything.” Timo calls after where Emma is hoisting Liv up onto her hip. She shoots a glare over her shoulder at him.

“Go shower! You stink!” 

“You could join me?” Timo chuckles after her. 

The only sign that Emma hears is the way she sways her hips just for him as she walks away.

hi sorry just posting my awesome google slides on why i think captain dread should die in season three of sonic prime thanks. this was made for a friend presentation night so i apologize for the extra information that yall are probably already going to know. that being said some things might look missing just because of this fact alone. ALSO SORRY FOR TEXT BEING HARD TO READ I NEVER INTENDED FOR PEOPLE TO REALLY READ THIS. sorry if theres oversimplification of things this is for ppl who dont know sonic v well

"Disclaimer: This is literally one of my absolute favorite characters of all time. He literally got me into Sonic. That being said, Captain Dread is a piece of shit. He needs to rot in hell and pay for his crimes against humanity. But also, it would make sense narratively. I’m here to explain why."

"Shatterspace counterparts are the versions of Sonic’s friends from each of the worlds. Despite having the same route person, each of the different versions of one character are vastly different. Out of Tails, Amy, and Knuckles, each of these characters get a “featured spot” in each of the shatterspaces. For example, we can conclude that Tails’ counterpart from the New Yoke City world, “Nine,” is the featured counterpart. In Boscage Maze, Amy’s counterpart “Thorn Rose” has the most important role. Leaving Knuckles’ counterpart, “Captain Dread” as the most important role in the No Place world. That being said, each counterpart is still different in their own ways."

"Each shatterspace counterpart is representative of a trait that the original character has. Ex; “Thorn Rose” is Amy’s personification of her love of nature and all things living, and how much she is willing to fight for it. (That being said, they may stray as well, seeing as they are still their own fleshed out characters.)"

"Knuckles The Echidna 101 - To understand Knuckles' counterparts, first we need to understand Knuckles. -The Guardian of Angel Island, a hidden island in the sky and the hiding place of the all-powerful “Master Emerald.” Knuckles’ duty is to guard this emerald and the island. He takes this duty very seriously, often refusing to leave the emerald unguarded.

-Knuckles grew up isolated from others like him, only having company of the fawn and flora.

-Quiet and adamant on independence. Claims to prefer to do things alone, relying on his own power.

-Very protective of the Master Emerald, generally quite wary and cautious.

-Met Sonic and Tails when he was 16, initially in the assumption that they were there to steal the Master Emerald, but was only being tricked by Eggman who’d crash-landed there after the events of Sonic 2. He eventually makes peace with them and sees them on their way.

-Knuckles eventually grows envious of Sonic’s care-free lifestyle, his ability to go “where [he] wants, when [he] wants.” Due to his duties, Knuckles feels he does not have these opportunities. He enjoys spending time with his friends, though does enjoy being alone as well."

"There are three different counterparts to Knuckles in Sonic Prime! Each are important to Knuckles as a character, so let’s go over the ones we’re not majorly focusing on briefly to get a better understanding of how these counterparts make up the characters they represent. “Knucks” is the New Yoke counterpart. He resembles the part of Knuckles that is part of the team, loyal to his friends and determined to protect them. He fights for his world, but puts his friends first. He’s the most similar personality wise to Knuckles - he’s usually very serious. “Gnarly” is the Boscage Maze counterpart. He’s Knuckles’ paranoia, his nativity, and his general distrust. “Act first, questions later.” He’s honestly just incredibly impulsive and stupid."

(sidenote - my opinions on what gnarly represents have shifted a wee since i made this, but he wasn't super relevant to my argument anyways. my b gang)

"CAPTAIN DREAD."

"What's his deal?

To put it in the basics of basics, Dread is the captain of Angel’s Voyage. When we first see him he appears to be a laid-back and quite frankly way-too-joyful captain. We learn he only likes to party, take it easy, etc - much to the disliking of his crew, who are neglected to the life of a real pirate. This is because he ship-wrecked trying to obtain a fragment of the paradox prism in this shatterspace, which he deems as the “Devil’s Lighthouse,” a mysterious treasure. After getting attacked by his old crew, he’s shown to be a coward, backing down and hiding in the fight and encouraging the same for his crew. He later straight up abandons them, needing HEAVY motivation from Sonic to come back. Only once he speaks of Dread going down in history and being known as legendary does he come back - though, he outright says, it’s not for his crew."

"He creates a plan to go back to the Devil’s Lighthouse, a bit of obsession shining though. Through the whole thing, he shows little regard to the wellbeing of his crew, even saying they’re expendable [after eventually receiving the shard]. Once he gets his hands on this shard, he goes full golem mode. He’s obsessed. He does anything to keep it in his possession. He gets violent and angry whenever it’s taken from him. There’s no stopping this mfer lemme tell ya"

"Breaking It Down

So what’s this mean for Knuckles, if Dread is supposed to represent a part of him? He seems like an asshole! Well, Dread represents the following: - Knuckles’ obsession with the Master Emerald. Guarding it. Protecting it. It’s not his, but he’ll use possessive pronouns on occasion for it. He will do anything to get the Emerald back if stolen. - His independent side. He doesn’t need anyone. He’s a loner - all he needs is himself. That’s all who he can fully trust. It’s him and the Emerald against everyone else."

"The Conflict Scene

'I get why you guys don't like me, but YOU guys should be friends!' - Sonic, speaking to Dread & Knucks

In this scene, Dread and Knucks face off. But not before respectively stating these following lines in response to Sonic.

Knucks: "Not gonna happen. I already have enough friends." Dread: "The only friend I need is me beauty."

This is a representation of Knuckles’ sides of companionship and isolation literally fighting head-to-head. To be with his friends, or to stick to his duties in guarding the master emerald - both of equal strength. This follows Knuckles’ ACTUAL inner conflicts. We know he would like to do other things that aren’t bound by duty, but he has such obligation to it. It’s hard to do anything else."

"The Importance of Death

After all of that being said and done, we know that Dread represents a part of Knuckles that struggles. It’s his sense of duty to the Master Emerald. He can’t let go of it or let himself free from it - it’s such a strong sense of self for him, but one that keeps him bound. He’s, again, said it himself. He envies the free lifestyle, and his part of himself is really only holding him back. Dread dying would represent that part of himself - the obsessive, protective emerald guardian - faded. That gives him so much more freedom, which is all that he longs for."

"But, but!! (Counterarguments)

“There’s no proof these counterparts are parallels of the cast!” There’s not any outright statement of this, but if you look at it in a more analytical perspective, it works itself out quite nicely. It’s called having an IMAGINATION. Besides, not all media spells things out for you. This is a KIDS show, of course they’re going to make it easy for the kids to digest. These kids dont know the sonic characters like I do

“Knuckles isn’t even guarding the emerald before the prism shattered” Its a kids show they don’t have time to establish all that. It’s not the focus they’re not going to DWELL on it it ain’t that deep (i say as i make it that deep)

“Sonic Prime isn’t about Knuckles!! Why would they focus on him!” Who cares hes in the series. also if you like squint there’s development for all of the main counterparts in representative of Amy and Tails, too. Nine and Thorn Rose both have their fair share of issues that can connect to their original characters!! But this aint about them"

The New Mustang "Baby"

It was a hot summer day, the air felt heavy, especially since it rained the other day. The only thing Santino wanted to do was lay around, have the air conditioning on and try not to die of heat. Dog laying next to him, either leaned against him or on his back. Poor thing was trying to cool himself off, too.

Santino was starting to doze off on the bed when John suddenly came in.

“Hey, love. Oh, are you sleeping?” He stopped halfway, just noticing that he had his eyes closed. Santino made a tired muffled groan as he stretched a little. “Not anymore,” he mumbled.

“Ah, sorry. I just want to show you something,” John said and crouched down to pat Dog who came to greet him.

“What?” Santino asked, sitting up and just then noticing some sweat on John's forehead and neck.

“Where were you anyway? And why are you so sweaty?” Sure, it was really hot outside so maybe it could be because of that. But, John was up to something for a few days already, making some calls with Aurelio and doing some paperwork.

“I'll gladly show you,” John smiled at him. Santino sighed and got up from the bed, following his fiance outside.

“You've been acting weird these days, and you decide to do this on the hottest day? Please, whatever it is, let it have fucking air conditioning,” Santino complained on the way outside.

John chuckled, he actually likes when Santino is like this. It makes him look even cuter.

John proudly showed off his new black Mustang he had bought. “This. 1967 Ford Mustang,” he tapped on the windshield. Santino was impressed, it's a beautiful car, there's no doubt. He's also very fond of cars, and became a fan of Mustang's himself because of John.

“Don't you already have one?” Santino asked, walking around the car. It looked similar to the old one, maybe with a slight change.

“Nope. First one is from 69, this one is older, 67,” John explained, admiring his new beauty. “It's really pretty. How did you even get it?” Santino was actually getting curious, it's not every day that you see that type of car.

“You know I always find anything for you,” John smirked, kissing him on the lips, pulling him closer by his waist. “Oh? Really?” Santino teased, wanting another kiss, but John started talking. “Everything that's mine is yours,” John smiled, ruffling Santino's hair a little.

“Now this baby can go pretty fast. Do you think you can handle her?”

Well, Santino was more caught off guard with words John used to describe the car.

“Baby? Her?” Santino asked, crossing his arms, actually looking confused. He was a bit offended. “I don't like it anymore,” he sighed dramatically, a little protest he does when John pisses him off. Or he just acts like this because John then does anything he asks for.

“Aww, c'mon. She's not my only baby. When we try her out, you're going to love her,” John said softly, taking Santino's hand in his hand and placing a kiss over his knuckles.

Fuck. Whenever John gets romantic like this, he can't help himself, immediately blushing. And it was getting even hotter outside, meaning it can affect Santino's mood to make him even more irritated.

“Fine. I'll give her a chance. Just please tell me she has air conditioning,” Santino said, getting in the passenger seat. His eyes immediately caught the way John gripped the wheel. Okay, now he's looking forward to this ride.

Maybe Santino was expecting a relaxing car ride, but John had something else in his mind. At least for some time.

He wanted to show him how this baby goes fast. He did that with his precious 1969 Mustang, so he has to do the same with this one.

And it always kinda pushed Santino against his seat.

“Cazzo, John. Not this again,” Santino tensed up, actually trying to adjust himself on the seat. John chuckled, speeding up a bit more.

There is a road near by where usually no one drives on. In the countryside, John can really show off his new car and the full speed. Santino held onto the seat, cursing under his breath. It takes him few minutes to get adjusted to this speed. Meanwhile John is having the time of his life.

“Relax. It's not the first time I'm taking you on that ride,” John glanced over at him, patting his thigh. Santino huffed in annoyance, “You're having way too much fun with this. I thought you'd take me on a nice ride,” he glared at John. “I don't wanna die before we're married,”

They're literally getting married in a month. It's not gonna happen if John continues to make these sudden sharp turns with that speed.

“Nothing bad's gonna happen, love. Trust me,” John was having an adrenaline rush, but he knows Santino is safe with him. And Santino does trust him.

One part of him liked this. It's fun, it's full of adrenaline and it makes them both energetic. And adrenaline like this has another affect on Santino. Especially seeing John like that.

After few sharp turns and speeding up more, hearing the engine purr, Santino relaxed enough to look outside the window. It felt nice, this new car “baby” is definitely something.

“There you go, see? You relaxed, good job, baby,” John praised him. It's always fun to see Santino’s mood change quickly. That's why he loves this man so much.

“Are you talking to the car or me?” Santino smirked at him, and felt how John finally slowed down a little. “You. You're so funny like this,” John said softly, “That's why I want to marry you,” he squeezed Santino's knee.

“You're driving,” Santino smirked a little. Whenever John touches him, no matter what situation, it makes him feel things. “Not for long,” John replied, now driving in a normal speed.

Santino enjoys driving with John. Yes, he prefers the calm rides, but he let's John have fun and experience adrenaline. He loves how John gets happy about it and how proudly he feels when his cars go fast. Showing it off to his fiance.

Eventually, John stopped near a little forest, under the shadows of the trees. “So, what do you think of her?” John asked and looked at his fiance. “She's fast, and I like how she sounds. I could get used to her,” Santino said, wiping off sweat on his forhead.

“I'm glad, baby,” John leaned over to kiss him. “Do you wanna drive her back home?” he asked. Before that, Santino had some other plans.

What is John expecting after he's sweaty and how it's glistening on his muscles and neck. It was making Santino thirsty.

“Yes… however,” he paused, his hand slipping down near John's crotch over the fabric. “It's fucking hot here, isn't it?” John could tell where this was going.

He's engaged to Santino D'Antonio. Nothing surprises him anymore. He accepted him like this and Santino really opened his eyes for anything suggestive.

“It is. I even put the air conditioning on, but it's still not enough,” John let him touch him like this, leaning again to kiss him. “Mm… then move your seat back,” Santino breathed against his lips after the kiss.

And John did that he was told, Santino quickly climbed on his lap and attacked him with kisses. All that adrenaline really got Santino going.

When will they return back home? Like this… It could take them few hours. The Mustang is new, hopefully it could take them riled up like this.

A Deep In-Depth Analysis of Nine 1/9: Warped Isolation Part 2

Hello! Welcome to the second part of this analysis of my favorite character in the Sonic media! Now in the first part, we discussed Nine's home life, and how that home life pushed him into firm isolation. But now I want to talk about the effects that Sonic had on him that not only furthered his bad ideals but made Nine possibly realize something both beautiful and horrifying.

Let us begin, shall we?

Section Three: "Sonic?"

We left off with Sonic running off, Nine surprisingly chasing after him. As Sonic carelessly walks around New Yolk, Nine tells him firmly to stay quiet and out of sight. Only for Sonic to tell that when Nine remembers, not knowing Nine is just a variant yet, being sneaky and silent is not his forte.

What do ya know, they get captured. And as the baby flies off with them, they have a typical sibling argument of 'yes', 'no', and repeating. Then Nine asks in his usual snarky way if Sonic was sure they were friends. But we don't get Sonic's response, instead, it just goes to Rouge and Knucks.

Then Sonic wakes as if having been knocked out, which is interesting to me because we don't see what happened before, or what happened in between those two points. Sonic wakes up, first attempting to escape, only for Nine to solemnly state that he's wasting his breath. Then Sonic meets Rusty and the Council.

Some banter later, and the Council performs some tests. Interestingly Nine's behavior is to take note here. He's more concerned for the hedgehog, calling out his name in worry at first. Which makes me question what did Nine see after they were captured by the Council? What happened to Sonic to make him fall asleep in between.

During the tests, there was something that struck me as odd. Nine never saw Sonic run, not really, which has me question why he suddenly remarked that he has the same energy that powered the city.

His behavior toward the council here is interesting as well. Like he did in the last episode, Nine stays entirely neutral with them, not having a side to choose yet. But then comes the energy extractor scene. Sonic is forced to say his last words, remarking about all his friends. Saving a very special person for last.

As the energy extractor gets closer and closer, we get three separate shots of Nine and get more and more worried. Then Sonic speaks his actual last words:

"See ya, Buddy."

And Nine's face is visibly shaken.

I think this is where his wake-up was, where his cold splash of reality came. The realization that this hedgehog not only cared for him but was also his only hope of having a happy life was now about to be lost forever. That he can't lose this hedgehog or let him get killed. This was where his attachment came in tenfold.

Rebel manages to save Sonic, and Nine while everyone's distracted, moves to the computer, getting the cuffs off and freeing Sonic. Notice how he goes from not doing anything when Sonic is threatened, to being the most protective of the hedgehog.

When Sonic was being attacked by Rusty, there's an urgency that Nine understands, but he doesn't panic he keeps calm and stops the robot from annihilating the hedgehog. He disregards Rusty as a robot because to him it is. That's all she is and nothing more.

They defeat the robots and Sonic pulls them into a group hug, which they all pull away, disgusted and annoyed. They then plan to get the Shard and all go to receive it.

There's a fight scene, and all of them fight, yet Nine notices Sonic is in trouble first and immediately goes to help him, and only helps him other than himself in the battle. This I think shows Nine's emotional attachment becoming a protective instinct.

Then even more fighting later, Nine and Sonic manage to get to the shard. Nine goes ahead but Sonic hesitates, reflecting their ideals and views on others. Nine doesn't care for anything other than things they need, or in this case what Sonic needs, he doesn't stop for others and goes ahead, leaving them behind as long as they got what was needed.

Sonic, however, waits and stops, always willing to stop for others to help, it didn't matter that the thing he wanted, needed, was right there in front of him, others always come first. Only after an urging from Rouge and a gruff call from Nine does Sonic go ahead.

They get to the Shard and Sonic exclaims that it's too small before realizing what happened. Notice how while Sonic's clearly in distress, Nine doesn't try to comfort him, more concerned with more shards. This rather reflects on Nine's just birthing emotional attachment to Sonic is rather weak at the time and his attachment to Sonic is merely what he can have from it, not how it makes Sonic feel for now.

It's only when the Council attempts to break out that Nine still doesn't comfort him, but tells him to snap out of it, showing a rather mature understanding that they needed their heads straight.

That is until Sonic grabs the shard, and he begins to get pulled in. It's then that Nine shows concern, asking 'what's happening, to which Sonic merely responds by saying his name as he's pulled him.

As the hedgehog is Nine reaches out to try and keep the hedgehog from getting sucked in but it is too late. Nine calls his name, asking where he is in desperation ad concern. Then as his expression changes to one of sadness and melancholy, the screen moves away from him, reflecting how Nine is alone once more.

The screen turned black and only one word is said by Nine, a word said with confusion, worry, and sadness.

"...Sonic?"

I am going to continue from Nine's perspective as best I can but I wanted to mention this detail. While we do see what happens when Sonic is sucked into the shard, it's different with Nine. Instead of peaceful natural surroundings, or Dread cheering with joy, it's just darkness and silence the only word of Sonic's name being uttered, nothing more.

Back to Nine, he snaps out of his trance when he realizes that the Council is about to get in. Without skipping a beat he goes and uses something to grab the shard. He does not touch it unlike everyone else.

I have a theory that touching the shard puts that person's desires to the extreme, Thorn's desire to protect the jungle, Dread's obsessiveness for the Shard, and even Sonic's desire to go home, trying to send him there.

But I also have another idea that touching the shard can also be a test of that person's free will. Dread is a variant of Knuckles, the brave but naive echidna that was tricked by Eggman, Amy is the empathetic one, through Thorn is deeply affected by the shard to enhance the protective sense towards nature, snapping out of it when she sees what she did. Because Nine didn't touch the shard, he wasn't affected. Yet. But even if he does, I think it would either take a long time or he'd be able to manage it because he is a variant of Tail's, the brain and logical thinker of the group.

I'll probably elaborate on this theory later in a separate post.

Anyway, Nine grabs the shard and manages to sneak away unseen. It's when he's out of the vault that he sees the Rebels and Rusty, their eyes light up when they see him thinking he can help. There's no hesitance, Nine immediately glares at them, before leaving them behind, choosing isolation once more. But I think this could be an unconscious moment of self-destruction, leaving them behind and ruining his chances of other friendships.

Unhealthy isolation can lead to being self-destructive and pushing others away in a belief of it being 'self-preservation', of it being a warped form of something good, something safe. Nine is caught in two addictions; the addiction of isolation, believing he needs it to be safe, and to feel comfortable, and the growing addiction to his growing affection and love for Sonic.

We don't see what Nine did after he showed the shard yet. But he comes back when Sonic is caught in a fight with the rebels. This is where our next and (for now) last section begins.

Section Four: "It could be home."

Now we come to the last section until the second batch is released. We see Nine again when Sonic is in a battle between the Eggman's and the Rebels, Sonic was in trouble, and Nine came rather conveniently to his aid. When Sonic hops into his ship, Nine immediately leaves, leaving behind the rebels once more. Sonic originally protests, but Nine refuses, telling Sonic to tell him where he was first.

Sonic goes on to tell him his tale of the Boscage Maze, and Nine responds that confirms his theory that the shard is capable of so much more. He shows Sonic the shard, confirming that he did in fact leave the rebels for dead. Then he brings Sonic to the Grim.

This is a HUGE factor in Nine's character. First of all the scenery is one of a wasteland, with orange cracked grounds, grey crystals, and a wide endless blue sky with dozens of stars.

The Grim is just empty.

No people, no plants, no water, just beautiful emptiness. This is a huge factor in Nine's psyche if he made this world himself, but it could still be a huge insight into his mindset. It shows nothing but loneliness, a never-ending world of nothingness.

It's warped loneliness at its finest.

They land and get off the ship. Nine graciously welcome Sonic to 'their bright new future'. Not his, 'THEIR'. He's letting Sonic into his circle of isolation. But he isn't willing to break down his warped isolation.

He's adorably excited for the first time we've seen him. Nine smiles in this scene more than he does in the first batch of the show. It's the first time he's genuinely smiling for more than two seconds. He is happy in this world, he's excited that he's going to have the world he oh, so wanted.

He describes it as possibly being home, the 'one Sonic lost', the 'one he never had'. This wording is very important, Nine is offering a new home for both of them. This indicates that Nine was at this for a while.

He still can't let go of the idea of isolation, offering a home that was isolated from everything else. He's asking Sonic to abandon his old home for this new one, which we all KNOW Sonic would never do. Sonic responds that it's not going anywhere, once again urging Nine to help out the rebels.

Nine's face changes from a mix of surprise and hurt to hardening frustration. He coldly rebuffs his disinterest in helping the city, but he doesn't force Sonic to stay. He allows Sonic to go back.

Then he comes back when Sonic is once again in danger. He states that he's going home after this and never looking back, that whether he goes with Sonic is entirely up to the hedgehog.

Only for Nine to get captured by the Council. But it's heavily implied he planned this. What his plan is exactly, we don't know yet.

2. favorite thing about this character

i think the great thing about jake that really Makes Him Jake is that in a lot of places hes kind of already got himself all figured out. he’s just plain content. he’s good like he is he doesn’t need anything. most of the time his greatest aspirations are “eat sandwich” and “hang out with girlfriend” jake the dog is living his best life

finn. The best thing about finn is everything about finn? he’s such a good protagonist and a good character and a good boy (*remembers hes almost 30 now* jesus christ) and i love him. i just zoned out thinking about finn mertens and forgot to write anything down. He tries very hard and he loves his friends a lot and he gets to be just a regular teenage boy and. And he’s an honorary dog and his existence for the first like 16 years of his life was existential horror at being the only one of his species and he says “mathematical” to mean “awesome”. He’s just so Finn! ifeel like in my mind ive really singled out specific things about him before but. i dont remember exactly. hes just great. he is doing the best that he can. he loves to HELP PEOPLE and USE SWORDS and BEATBOX

really feels like cheating to use a song from adventure time but obviously with finn i think of my best friends in the world. otherwise uhhhh….. jeez with how much i listen to music and how much i think about characters you’d think i’d have more songs inextricably linked to certain characters. i don’t really have anything else i can think offff………

Hello and welcome to my tumblr page, my name is darkchaogarden. I am currently a college drop out who thinks he's an aspiring writer; I like this thought, it keeps my caffeinated spirits up during the crushing come down of reality and bowel movements.

I like Sonic The Hedgehog, have so ever since I played the first game on the Genesis and obsessively watched The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog on Toon Disney and Sonic X on FoxBox/4KidsTV back in the day. I fell off it franchise later in life but clung back onto the boat hard during the pandemic - something to think about other than lock down and some other unpleasantness in my life during that time, I suppose - and have been writing pages after pages of notes, and even a few chapters of a fanfic, ever since.

My favorite Sonic game is Sonic Adventure 2: Battle on the GameCube. It's my first and favorite 3D Sonic game to this day, with Shadow the Hedgehog and Rouge the Bat as two of my favorite characters in the franchise. Other favorite games are Sonic Mania, Sonic 3 & Knuckes, Sonic Heroes. My other favorite characters are Blaze the Cat, Cream the Rabbit, Vanilla the Rabbit, Espio the Chameleon, respectively.

I also like anthropomorphic animals, curvy ladies, and lewd artwork, which this site has in abundance.
