Carl's Cool Kids and Hardee's Cool Kids Meal Toys (part 2/?)

So, let's continue where we left off.

For November and December of 2003, we get some toys for the Stuart Little franchise. However, these weren;t made to promote the live-action movies. They were made to promote the animated series.

2004

For January and February of 2004, we got some promotion items from NASA. My favorite is "Cassini Meets Saturn".

For March and April of 2004, we get some toys promoting the anime Yu Yu Hakusho. This is interesting to see. The series originally aired on Japanese television from 1992 to 1994. However, the English dub was airing in the U.S. around 2004. This dub started out on Adult Swim, even though some of the more adult content was edited out, and then it later moved to Toonami. It seems like an odd choice for a promotion.

For May and June of 2004, we get a promotion for the 2003 live-action Peter Pan film.

For July and August of 2004, we get a promotion for the Cartoon Network airings of the English dub of Astro Boy. The full set-list with all of the names wasn't archived. But we get pictures of all of the items with a closeup of the treasure keeper.

This promotion is a bit confusing, as Carl's Jr. claims that it was only for September of 2004. Meanwhile Hardee's claims that this was used for September and October of 2004. In any case, we get a set of toys based on the "I Spy" franchise. I'm not sure whether this was promoting a specific release from the franchise.

Only the Carl's Jr site splits the ISpy promotion into two pieces. It doesn't appear that any images from the October promotion have survived.

For November and December of 2004, we get Shrek 2. It looks like these were supposed to be Christmas ornaments.

For January of 2005, we got some toys to promote the film "Racing Stripes". I forgot that this film existed. It was a live-action film of a zebra that is left behind by the circus, taken in by a farm, and set to become a race-horse.

For February and March of 2005, we get some toys to promote the Dreamworks film of the same name. It's the one with the Will Smith fish that creeped everyone out.

For April of 2005, we got "Racing Stripes" again. It's a different set of toys to promote the same film. Was this film a bigger deal than I remember?

For May and June of 2005, we get the Cartoon Network show "Duck Dodgers", starring Porky Pig as "Space Cadet".

For July and August of 2005, we get "TikiMon". I've never heard of this.

For September of 2005, we get "Mucha Lucha". I vaguely remember seeing this series on TV and playing flash games for it back in the day.

I haven't been able to find surviving photos of the October 2005 "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" promotion. This appears to be another case of Carl's Jrs diverging from Hardees as Hardees claims October was more Mucha Lucha.

For November and December of 2005, we get some toys for "A Charlie Brown Christmas". What could I possibly say about this iconic cartoon that hasn't already been said?

2006

For January and February of 2006, we get a promotion for "Loonatics Unleashed". This was that attempt to reboot Looney Tunes into a band of superheroes that ended in disaster.

For March and April of 2006, we get a promotion for one of the most beloved Cartoon Network cartoons, "Codename: Kids Next Door". They did the thing with the acronyms.

For May and June of 2006, we got a promotion for "Yu-Gi-Oh! Down of the Duel". I remember watching the 4-Kids dub of a version of Yu-Gi-Oh back in the day,.

For July of 2006, we get Monster House. I love this movie so much.

And now, we see another divergence in the timeline. Only Hardees got this set of toys under "Kahuna Kruisers". Moana sure looks different from what I remember.

For August and September of 2006, we get a promotion for one of the Scooby-Doo movies. This was "Pirates Ahoy!". I have never seen it.

In another divergence, only Carl's Jr got Halloween buckets for Scooby-Doo Pirates Ahoy. I cannot find promotional images for them, however.

For November and December of 2006, we got a promotion for the move "The Ant Bully". This is the film where a kid torments ants, gets shrunk down to their size, and has to save them from an exterminator.

2007

For January and February of 2007, we get a promotion for "Open Season". I know nothing about this movie whatsoever.

For March and April of 2007, we get a promotion for "Happy Feet".

I have been unable to find surviving promotional photos for the Justic League Unlimited promotion, which ran through June and July of 2007.

For June through August of 2007, we get "Code Lyoko". This is that show where ever character has a five-head. I remember it looked pretty interesting the few times I saw it airing. It was a mix of 2d and 3d segments depending on whether the characters were in the real world or the virtual one.

For August through September of 2007, we got some educational toys from the National Wildlife Federation.

For August through October of 2007, we got a promotion for the movie "Surf's Up".

I'm at the image limit again, so I will need to pick this up again on another post.

thrifted another issue of CN Action Pack! even though it had ben 10 on the cover, it was filled with KND comics. (had about 6? in total) the art style was very fun and goofy too, loved it!

one my favorite things about these old magazines are the ads; this one had an ad for the spongebob best day ever episode! that came out when i was in first grade :’]

Ben promising to take the delightful children to an amusement park but they get really excited and burst into his room first thing in the morning and jump on his bed telling him to get ready. And Ben wakes up and is like “Children, I love you all but it’s 5 in the morning. The park doesn’t open for another 4 hours. Please go back to bed.”

Curious, What do the Rest of the Adult Villians look like in your Teen AU?? Are they Still Villians? Did some of em retired? Are there New Villains inspired by the OG ones??

First of all, thank you! As for the villains, as said here, TND operatives can NOT go against them because that would defeat the whole purpose of KND. They can take over only if no kid operative is available or if the kids are in BIIIIIIG troubles. Only exception is Father, because if he attacks the teens, that's their priority.

Speaking of Father, no one has seen him around for the last year, and even the Delightful Children have been missing from school or anywhere. It was the most peaceful year ever! No one knows what happened to him, except Sector V TND, who were made to swear they would not mention anything. But also, it looks like Nigel was made Code 0010 RED around that time. But as the Delightfuls said, Father seems to be back...

All other enemies are still alive an kicking! Only one who's rumored to be close to retirement is Knightbrace, but nothing's confirmed. KND operatives still fight them all around, they all look the same as they did 7 years before (maybe Mr. Boss has some few new gray hair around...)! STICKYBEARD GOT MARRIED??? WHAT???????????????????????????

There are new villains that came out in these 7 years. Worth mentioning are:

DudeBro, a big tall college football themed villain who wants kids to play with him but he plays dirty and HARD, and always harms kids! He's really annoying, always wanting to be your BIG BRO (as if they don't already have one to fight...). Can play any sport, has an infinite supply of balls. So far the only sport he hasn't won is dodgeball, and that made Numbuh 4-2 his arch enemy.

Miss Fit, some crazy delusional lady who wants kids to be dressed nice and elegant but her outfits are all ugly, stinky, itchy and just HORRIBLE! Be careful not to ruin your Sunday dress, or she'll appear and make it WORSE! Word has that she was the owner of that "Le Sissie" store and swore revenge on the KND because they ruined her business. Also, she's Father and the Delightfuls' personal tailor (and it shows...).

The Neighbore, he's everyone's neighbor, and he's annoying. An old man always yelling to get off his lawn even if you're NOWHERE close to it. Always telling parents what you did, even if they're lies! His house smells of old people and can appear and disappear next to yours at anytime and no ball or toy that gets inside is seen ever again... or even kids.

As an, would Nick Fury know that a secret world organization run by kids is under his nose?? How would heroes like Cap and Iron Man react to all of this??

The KND and the TND probably have more advanced technology (though much of it is toys and have weird names... Battle aRmor rAdy for example jshkshjfs)

Delightful Children style

So In a post I reblogged I mentioned about how I think father came to adopt the delightful children and delightfulize them. I’ll explain a little more on that because everyone had their own ideas on it and I’d like to share mine too.

Tw for mentions of neglect abuse and manipulation, it’s father and his delightful children what did you expect?

Sector z was formed by 5 children who where abused and neglected by their parents aka adults. They where thrown into an orphanage and quickly banded together over their experiences and became inseparable beginning to form their little group. Each of them where in and out of housing and different families all their lives. One of them getting adopted leaving them panicked. The family not ready to take on their new kids issues just threw them back into the orphanage. This happened A lot to the point that they where just not shown for adoption anymore. Wronged by adults they discovered the kids next door who fought adults so they joined asap. This way they where out that retched orphanage as much as possible and never had to be apart again since they where a team. They formed sector z adopting their code name numbers and for a good while where the best operatives there, young adult fighting kids with great skills.

Benedict on his mission to find kids to delightfulize went to the orphanage deciding this would be his best bet. Still under the orphanage and having to go back there every night Benedict took a liking to them he could tell they where different from the others there. He played nice. Very nice. He was kind to them he didn’t adopt them right away instead let them come over to his big mansion house to get acquainted. He bought them toys, chocolates, cloths, comics. When they stayed the night he’d read them story’s and run them lovely hot bubble baths. He took them to the park and out for the day buying them icecream when they went to the beach and played in the sand with them. They thought they’d really found the best father ever and they trusted him all just wanting the security of a good parent figure so they trusted him very fast. Benedict adopted them officially and took them all home, he’d found out about them being knd operatives and couldn’t have asked for better. He tricked them into going into the delightfulization chamber saying it was a new invention of his. Trusting him they went in and before they knew it they where delightful children.

They know their former knd operatives but it’s all blurred and hard to remember or focus on the memory enough to fight the delightfulization so it’s far far back in their heads unable to be accessed But they remember how adults wronged them and so when one shows any weakness they quickly overpower them. Showing they are superior to adults. Their abandonment issues where full swing once delightful which is why they stay together at all times. Their issues remain and they struggle massively with them but father punishes them when they show any sort of struggle. So he abuses and neglects them in the exact same way they where before but their powerless to him and suffer it. He’s nice to them sometimes with their big birthday parties and letting them have what ever they want when they want but that’s just because he’s rich enough to throw them it all and tell the butler to get it for them. They want icecream? Father gets the Butler gets them it. He just puts them in the hands of the maids and butlers to take care of.

I like to think after operation zero however and fighting with his own father again and long long talks with Monty and forced family vacations together he eventually starts to treat them right and make amends to be a good father to them, their still forever delihhfulized and evil little menaces with a taste for chaos but he loves them all the same. Buying them toys, comforting them in meltdown and night terrors patching their scrapes and reading stories to them before bed.

Had to end on a happy note I’m not letting them suffer forever! I might make a few more bits on each of their pasts in my personal headcannons and what not but idk. What do you think on my perspective of it?

The Assistant.

Every CEO of an evil corporation needs someone to keep his mind straight and decluttered, especially so that he can stay home with his kids.

Enter Briar LeNoire.

LeNoire's position is several roles all rolled into one and they are the true second in command at Father's enterprise, regardless of what the vice president thinks. They hold a special spot that makes some question who they are to Father and why he can trust them with such importance as they just appeared one day years before. Those pale blue eyes of theirs hidden behind dark sunglasses may be the key to an unsettling truth.

Calm, collected, and downright ruthless when needed, LeNoire keeps Father's affairs in order and the company headed in the right direction, only calling him when dire necessary. Their cynical, no-nonsense approach keeps those within the company on their toes and if the employees want to keep their jobs, they better not provoke the assistant.

Every so often, LeNoire's dark form can be seen at the Delightful Mansion to report the company's status or see to another task given to them by Father. From time to time, when not accompanying Father on the occasional business trip or event and to the dismay of the Delightful Children, LeNoire babysits them, however, no one outside of the mansion knows what this entails. The DC are tight-lipped about it when asked. Perhaps they know LeNoire's origins as well.

On record, LeNoire is the only one who has directly conflicted with Father and lived to tell about it as he often seeks their opinion which involves cold logic he may not want to hear when he calls them at 3 a.m. while drunk on rocky road ice cream. They have gotten away with sassing him with dry humor with zero consequences, either showing that Father has a soft spot for them or, more likely, that he knows their worth to him. Anyone else who has tried this approach with him within his company has been met with third-degree burns and a pink slip.

The villain community learns quickly that LeNoire is not to be toyed with when Father is unavailable and not to dismiss them as "the secretary." All it takes is one phone call and their lives will take a downward spiral. Being Father's assistant has its perks with making connections all over in his absence.

LeNoire detests being touched, doesn't like but tolerates children, hates incompetence, and would rather ask forgiveness than for permission from their employer as they tend to know what needs to be done before anyone else does to a terrifying degree. This makes some theorize that they may not be human but perhaps a robot/android created by Father.

While Father has proven to be, well, a dick, LeNoire tends to soften his image in the public eye by sending gifts and making contributions in his name. The better he looks to the adult community, the better his plans will go over, something they have constantly fought with him over and won. This is also why most adults haven't chased him out of town. LeNoire reminds him each time that his father's tactics don't work as well with the public as they once did.

To date, LeNoire has excelled at every task Father has given them, though they have never encountered the KND directly. Father has kept his professional and personal life separated enough to keep LeNoire focused on the company, though he has wondered what would happen if he allowed the two to cross.
