For sector v.3, what’s your favourite mission?

Henry: Favorite mission? Hmm… that’s a tough one. (He crosses his arms, thinking) There was that time we infiltrated that crazy amusement park. That whole place was a trap, but we managed to outsmart her and shut it down. Barely. (He smirks a little.) I still say I was the reason we got out, but whatever.

Avery: Oh please, Henry, you got caught first! (She grins, nudging him playfully). Personally, I loved the mission where we had to rescue those stolen candy blueprints from that underground fortress. The security system was insane, but we cracked it. And by "we," I obviously mean me.

Kai: That was fun, but you’re all forgetting the best one—the time we had to go undercover at that super fancy private school full of brainwashed genius kids. (He smirks). You guys almost blew my cover like five times, but in the end, we got the job done.

Henry: You know, I gotta say… Kai, I was actually kinda surprised at how smart you are during that mission. (He raises an eyebrow) Like, you had the whole undercover thing down, cracked codes, and even figured out that hidden entrance before any of us did. (He tilts his head, crossing his arms). So if you’re good at everything else… why am I the one tutoring you in math?

Kai: U-Uhhh… (His face heats up instantly, eyes darting to the side as he rubs the back of his neck.) Numbers are hard?

Avery: Ohhh my gooooosh! (She grins wickedly, leaning toward Kai with a glint in her eyes). So Kai, are you going to tell him or am—

Kai: (He grabs the closest thing within reach—a shiny red apple—and shoves it straight into Avery’s mouth, effectively cutting her off.) Lila! Your turn! (His voice is just a bit too loud)

Lila: Ugh, I still can’t believe we had to wear those awful uniforms on that mission. (She shudders dramatically,) But I have to admit, it was kind of satisfying hacking into their database and exposing their whole operation. Those adults never saw it coming.

Finn: Okay, okay, but what about the snow fortress mission? (He leans forward, eyes gleaming with excitement.)We had to battle through an army of ice-cream-powered robots! That was peak Sector V.3 action, and you know it!

Henry: Alright, fine, we’ve had some awesome missions. But let’s be real… the best mission? (He glances at his team, a small smile forming). It’s whatever mission we take on next.

The Gilligan Family

The future family of Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 2 (Going Clockwise: Abigail, Hoagie, Hogarth III, Homer and Jodie)

Hogarth Pennywhistle Gilligan III

Hoagie and Abby’s eldest son. A teenager whose presence is mostly seen through the shambles of mess and food he leaves around the house. When he is around, he can usually be heard complaining.

- 14 years old

- He’s always either at the mall or at school, so he’s not often home. Even when he is around, his face is always hidden

- Named for his grandfather. To carry on his spirit

- Was given his mother’s hat when he was younger. He doesn’t wear it anymore but keeps it hanging on his room door.

- Despite being a teenager, he’s still quite civil to his brother and is pretty harmless. Sector V still keeps him (or at least his room) under surveillance though.

Homer Thomas Gilligan (Numbuh 7)

The Writing Operative and 2x4 technology officer of the current Sector V. Loyal, hardworking and a little awkward, Homer often acts as a support to the team in many ways. Whether in battle, missions or off duty, he’s a capable presence who always comes through for them.

- 10 years old

- His middle name, Thomas, is a nod to his uncle.

- His code number is a reference to Cree Summer’s (voice of Numbuh 5) comment that if she was in the KND, she’d pick 7 as her number.

- He is said to be a great storyteller and does the daily logs for Sector V, hence his role as Writing Operative. He often puts his own twist on it of course, dabbling in a few writing genres

- He wishes to invent more original 2x4 technology items instead of following existing blueprints, but his inventions always end up exploding. The only successful thing he made is Roku’s signature weapon.

Jodie Gilligan

Hoagie and Abby’s daughter. Hogarth III and Homer’s little sister. A very cheery and giggly baby.

- 11 months old

- Her name is Hebrew in origin, an allusion to the Gilligans’ Jewish heritage

- She is very attracted to candy, despite not being old enough to eat it yet (her teeth haven’t come in). Can get EXTREMELY aggravated if she finds candy and someone takes it from her

- Shows quite good mobility for a baby, being able to quickly sneak up on people and climb on high-ish surfaces

- Is probably the only one that happily laughs at her father’s jokes

Abigail Gilligan née Lincoln

Part-time Teacher at McClintock High School and Full-Time mom, Abi still manages to find a way to maintain her laid-back cool attitude through it all. When she’s not grading papers, or getting gum out of her kids’ hair, she often spends her time reading or painting.

- 38 years old

- Secretly still a KND member with the rest of Sector V.

- Was in Wally’s band as the keyboardist in their high school days

- Often goes to ice cream parlours, soda fountains and candy stores with Hoagie on dates to sample the flavours.

- Splits the house duties with Hoagie. As she tells the kids: “Your dad cooks, I do the taxes and whoever loses at thumb wrestling has to clean.”

Hoagie P. Gilligan Jr

A pilot at the airport, he opted to work on short-haul flights so he wouldn’t be away from his family so much. Fun-loving and jovial, he dotes on his wife and tries to be a cool dad to his kids (despite the bad jokes he keeps telling)

- 37 years old

- Secretly still a KND member with the rest of Sector V.

- Is close with his son Homer. They usually spend time building stuff in the garage together. Both are still trying to figure out why Homer’s inventions always end up exploding

- His penchant for telling his bad jokes has only gotten worse over the years, but he says that he now has a right as a dad to say them.

- Only started dating Abby in their early 20s and got married a few years later

This AU is slowly taking shape... and it's now my little comfort zone (even if it's pretty sad).

But I mean, life's giving me so many lemons and I'm out of bottles for lemonade...

Hopefully, it gets better soon.

Anyway, they're reading the twins a bedtime story. They'll probably fall asleep in Sami's bed and block them from going anywhere. So they're gonna sleep for that night.

- leader of sector V and Explodey Ka-BOOM! Expert

- very bossy, itching for action, tries to keep a cool composure but most of her plans and tactics end with her wanting to just blow everything up.

- can be a sore loser with an explosive temper.

- Loves Sonic the Hedgehog. Is a closet nerd about it. (It’s very obvious)

- Favorite holiday is 4th of July. When other kids assume she’s very patriotic, she laughs in their face and tells them it’s all about the fireworks. Besides, she was born in Canada.

- (actually, she was born in space—premature baby! Dr. Beetles wanted to keep an inside joke going, apparently)

- Has a pet Pygmy hedgehog named Speedy that she shares her secrets with.

- (Wanna see Speedy run to the top of the treehouse and back? … Wanna see her do it again?)

- Idolizes the legendary sector V and strives to be just as legendary. Is stoked she gets to work in their old treehouse when their parents move to the States.

- loves her parents, but is at the age where she doesn’t fully appreciate them (thinks her Daddy is a clumsy doofus, and her Mama is lame nerd despite her cool motorcycle.) She’s totes for sure they were never in the KND. There’s just no way.

- argues with her little sister a lot.

- would take a bullet for her baby brother (and her sister too, but she’ll never admit that)

- has juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Has special knee braces she’s gotta wear and her Mama is always chasing her down to put them on.

- pesters Global Command to send her and her team on missions because NOTHING EVER HAPPENS IN THE SECTOR V AREA ANYMORE! IT’S SO BORING!!!

- can NOT figure out why the treehouse computer just lets her dad wander in undetected, but he brings cookies and juice, so it’s not a security concern. Yet.

- has goals of becoming a Galactic Level Operative for very noble, respectful reasons (she wants access to dimensional 2x14 tech that will allow her to find and meet Sonic the Hedgehog)

- wants to take skateboarding lessons from Alessandra Altolocato, one of the owners and head supervisor of the Zestful Nonprofit Youth Center Right Up the Street. (Her dad is against this idea)

- has a terrible, dark, secret. One so horrible, it could get her kicked out of the Kids Next Door. You’ll never get it out of her. NEVER! it’s that she loves broccoli)

You have what, about two years till you turn 13. Aren’t you afraid of being decommissioned when your time comes. Or have you already accept it.

Henry: Yeah… I’ve thought about it. A lot. (He crosses his arms, his gaze shifting to the ground). I mean, who wouldn’t? Growing up, knowing that one day, everything—everyone—you care about could just… disappear from your memory? It’s messed up.

(He lets out a slow breath, unclenching his fists before stuffing them into his pockets.)

Henry: But I guess, yeah… I’ve kinda accepted it. It’s not like I have a choice, right? )He forces out a dry chuckle, but there’s no real humor behind it. His eyes flicker toward Kai for just a second before he quickly looks away.) Doesn’t mean I don’t worry about my friends, though.

(His fingers tighten around the fabric of his hoodie, his voice quieter now.)

Henry: Even if I forget them… I just hope they’ll be okay.

(There’s a pause before he straightens up, shaking off the moment of doubt. His expression hardens, determination creeping into his voice.)

Henry: Still, I’ve got time. And until then, I’ll do everything I can to protect them. TND or not… I won’t stop being their friend.

The Beetles Family

The future family of Numbuh 4 and Numbuh 3. (Going clockwise: Kuki, Wallabee, Roku, Plat)

Roku Beetles 緑 (Numbuh 6)

The tomboyish and independent combat specialist/spy of the current Sector V. Sarcastic and rough around the edges with a strategic mind, she’s often the problem solver of the team, though not necessarily the voice of reason due to a slightly mischievous streak (is secretly the Prank Master of her school)

- 9 years old.

- Preferred weapon of choice: A Boomerang-shuriken combo called the B.O.O.M.E.R.K.E.N (Blaster Of Objects Moves Ever Rotatingly Knocking Enemies Nicely). Carries a few at a time and can release multiple if need be.

- She has a soft spot for her childhood friend and teammate Homer Gilligan (she’d never admit it though)

- Chose the number 6 upon her Cadets Next Door graduation in honor of a retired R.O.B.O.B.R.A.D.L.E.Y

- While her name sounds like the Japanese word for her number (六), the actual kanji character in her name is Japanese for ‘green’ (緑) referencing her mother (ironic because she prefers orange, reminiscent of her father)

Plat Beetles

The energetic, outspoken and goofy younger brother of Roku. He’s always joking around and is pretty comfortable in his own skin. Wants to join the KND but hasn’t finished his cadet training yet. So he sometimes tags along with his sister on missions

- 7 years old

- Plays dodgeball with his Uncle Joey on weekends

- Has a soft spot for his First Rainbow Monkey

- Has a lucky bokken (a Japanese wooden sword) from his maternal grandparents which he sometimes uses as a weapon if he follows his sister to combat.

- The name “Plat” means flat land, which is a reference to Australia’s geography (noted to be the flattest continent). His name is also meant as a shortened ver of Platypus, an animal native to Australia. Thus following the Australian animal theme of his father and uncle.

Dr Wallabee Beetles M.D.

Now a family man and a doctor at the local hospital. While he’s mellowed out over the years and is arguably smarter now, he can still be pretty impulsive and hot-headed. Especially if it involves stuff that annoys him. Loves his family dearly and takes a very hands-on-dad approach

- 37 years old

- Secretly still a member of the KND along with the rest of the past Sector V. But it’s kept so secret that even his kids have no idea.

- Happily married to Kuki for 12 years. Together since they were 17.

- Plays electric guitar. Used to be in a rock band in his teens

- Takes as many days off from work as he can. Either to relax, go on a date with Kuki or just spend time with his family

Kuki Sanban-Beetles

The CEO of the Rainbow Monkey Corporation and matriarch of the family. She still maintains her optimism and cheeriness but is also more calculating and business-minded due to her position in the company. Very affectionate towards her children and husband, although her oni side has come out when pushed too far.

- 37 years old

- Secretly still a KND member with the rest of Sector V.

- Slight workaholic. Brings home work more often than not, which includes Rainbow Monkey prototypes.

- Has been together with Wally for 20 years

- Has now gotten hooked on soap operas and KDramas, which Wally hates more than anything (especially if she makes him watch)

Woah hahaha that was really fun to write and draw! Probably gonna do a few animatics of the family too if I feel like it. Will also do the rest of Sector V’s family someday maybe!
