sorry for the wonky cam, i recorded this on my phone because i wanted to show that

I DID IT. KNB SEASON 1 ON BLU-RAY DVD BBY.

KnB has only ever been available through streaming in the west, and I'm a big fan of physical media (it's the only way to make sure you own your favorite things forever).

Now, is this perfect? No, but it plays and it's something I've always wanted. Much easier than finding it on a streaming service and/or having to hook up my laptop to watch it. Plus, it was fun to include the content that I wanted to on there. I wanna say a big thanks to everyone who helped me get all the content (ya'll know who you are). it was also so fun yet tedious tracking down my fav pieces of official art and including them as the menu screens bc I can hehehe.

Included are both bonus episodes, subtitled intros and outros (that I did myself), the fan disc skit for season 1, and the NG-Shuu/bloopers. I plan to eventually put it in a ""fancy"" case (one with enough slots for sll seasons hopefully) and design a dust jacket and potentially a booklet with episode info and such.

Kise and Aomine with a Sporty!Lazy!Fem!Reader

Kise Ryōta

It always surprises Kise whenever he sees you on the tennis court. You're always laser-focused, especially on days where you face difficult opponents. However, your stoicism and general demeanour always comes through.

"Come on Y/N-cchi! Don't you have an important match today?"

"Mmmmggghh..."

He sighs. This isn't the first time. He knows full well that you know that you can't miss this match, even if your opponent's school is rated one of the worst in the region.

"...I don't even have to play...I already know I'm gonna win..."

Kise knows you're right. In fact, every time you're about to play, he gathers DVD's of your opponent, so you can study the both of them together while cuddling.

He decides it's enough. Lord knows that your coach is already tolerating you the best she can, and every day, Kise fears for your position in the club.

Kise yanks off the covers, and faces a nice surprise. Not that kind of surprise.

"You're already in uniform?"

"Mmmphh...I was late training last night..."

He smiles warmly, feeling less urgency, and scoops you into his arms.

Kidding, he flips you over and hangs you over his shoulder, while crouching down to zip up the racket bag you left on the floor, and takes it with him.

He swears that he can feel your body relax, as if you're about to sleep again, flipped on his shoulder.

"Hey, hey! You can't just fall asleep! Your muscles are gonna be tired!"

"Fine..."

Don't worry though, he still carried you all the way to the match.

Aomine Daiki

The two of you would often rest on the roof together. sleeping your troubles away. Honestly, you were one in the same. That is, until Aomine's loss at the Winter Cup.

"Babe, get up, you got practice today right?"

You grumble in turn.

Suddenly, you feel yourself being hoisted up, and thrown over is shoulders.

"Daiki...i'm tired..."

"You won't be tired when you start moving your feet around."

He carries you all the way down to the volleyball courts, letting you slip off of his shoulders and into his arms, carrying you bridal style.

"Y/N. We're here."

He sets you down on the floor, before you promptly spin and bury your face into his chest, digging your nails into his shirt.

He notes how you look like a needy cat.

"Y/N!! Finally you're here!!"

"...Captain..."

Your captain walks over, and you fall into her arms as she laughs, hauling you over to the rest of the team for practice.

You found your groove quickly, sprinting across the court as if you hadn't been acting like a sloth a few minutes prior.

Aomine knew he hated losing; he also knew you hated it all the same.

"Kuroko no Basket Watches Kuroko no Basket: The Meta Saga"? Woah, is this really what it says on the tin? 🤭👏

LMFAO yes, it is exactly what it says on the tin. At the time I first wrote it, we were in an era of fic-writers doing meta fics like this where characters of a show would watch the show and give commentary (think back to the KNB fandisc setups). Since I saw some people doing it for KNB, I wanted to take my own crack at it. So I created a premise where all the main KNB schools were having a training camp together post-Winter Cup and stumble upon a mysterious DVD case containing all three seasons of the show, and the fic was meant to be them sitting down to watch it.

I wanted it to go deeper than them just giving commentary since this is essentially all these teams getting full context for everything that happened since the Teiko gang and Kagami started high school. In between the chapters where they were reacting to episodes, I planned to have intermission chapters where the characters would continue on with the training camp but also reflect on the episodes they've seen so far and how it's changed their perspective on other characters/events in the show. There's a lot I had planned for this one.

It's been on hiatus for quite some time, but it's another old fic of mine that had a strange resurgence in popularity because I've gotten notifs from as recent as a few weeks ago saying people have followed/favorited that story, even though the last update was over 6 years ago. I do want to update it soon, but I feel like I want to rework the prologue and make it completely different because as I'm re-reading it, it kinda doesn't make as much sense as I thought it did. But when I'm done cleaning it up, I'll link it here.

I will try to mix the medias as best as I can, but it will be mostly anime, so I hope nobody is to disappointed. No order to the list because I'm not picking a favorite child:

1. Naruto

I think I've said it before but I never get tired of this show. If I hit a roadblock I will just rewatch some episodes and feel better. Naruto is such a sunshine character, i couldn't imagine a world without the show, since it followed me through my childhood.

2. Yu-Gi-Oh franchise

The first anime I've ever watched has to me on this list. It got me hooked on anime, and I think this is why I love it so much.

3. Merlin

I love Merlin since I've first seen it. The characters were so fun to watch and it was such a good adapation of the legend that I brought all the dvd.

4. House of night book series

I read the books early on and i have to say that the series got weeker the more books came out, but the first three books I read in one sitting. All the characters were so loveable and I liked the element thing they had going on.

5. Marvel movies

I can't really pick a favorite here, because most of them are amazing. I started the movies because of friends and I love them so much, because of the memories I have of the people I love. It was a tradition to watch ever new movie together up until endgame and it was a wild ride.

6. 9-1-1 franchise

Started of rather small but became huge after a while. I really liked the buddie dynamic from day one and it became the first fandom I wrote english fanfics for. Really adore the community and dedication they have.

7. Sport animes (Knb, Sk8, Free, Haikyuu etc.)

When animes get a couch potato interested in sports they are doing something right. I never cared for basketball but after Knb I started looking up NBA teams and the rules for it. Did I start playing? No, but I watched some games and found a good topic to talk about with my uncle xD

4. What detail in [insert fic] are you really proud of?

we are gleefully continuing my knb spiral: Midorima's lucky item being a Mamma Mia DVD for the one knb tweet/chatfic i wrote. what can i say. i also liked google search "how to look cool online -wikihow" from the same one. WHAT CAN I SAY.

6. What’s one fact about the universe of [insert fic] that you didn’t get a chance to mention in the fic itself?

if through blood, sweat, and tears i came up with an idea for a universe, then by god i will put it in there. jk, but also i think the yuletide fic i wrote for this past yuletide is an example of that. i was coming up with a lot of kinda unrelated ideas, and early on in writing i was like, no, i must put these aside! but then partway through i was like, fuck it. these are interesting to me, i like them, i'm gonna make it work. and that's why there are like several half-baked ideas floating around the edges of it, but honestly i think it works fine like that.

17. What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it?

HI. GOOD THING YOU'RE ASKING THIS. i wrote like 1k or something of it in 2018 and keep circling around it like a vulture. it's my knb fma au. so like miragen as the seven vices/homunculi. i have them all mapped out and they're perfect, i'm a genius. and akashi is looking for his brother. GET IT?? i'm a genius. and it's set to fleet foxes' mykonos do you see why i am a genius?!?!?!

BSD- Dead Apple

Just got back from the movie and boy oh boy was it amazing!

I will say it was almost ruined because the stupid theater we were at had the screen set up wrong and the subtitles were cut off for the first scene (including the special message from some of the actors) so that PISSED ME OFF ROYALLY!

But my amazing husband went out and made them fix it and I love him even more now, he’s the hero of the night for all in the theater.

As always the art was just beautiful and the music spectacular. 

The story moves quick because they only have so much time to tell it but it’s super interesting.

I know it’s not Haikyuu / KNB related but it was just too good not to share here. 

If you’re a fan of the series and have an opportunity to, make sure you see it. It’s worth it. 

I’ll scream about it more on my personal blog @aanimemelove after this weekend to give opportunity for those who haven’t seen it yet to do so and then I’m fangirling my head off about it.

but that doesn’t mean he’ll neglect you

he will always find time for you throughout the day

like he spends his lunch with you (BONUS: sometimes brings you a cooked meal because you forget yours sometimes :))

and he will check up on you through text when practice gets a little long

miyuki: have you ate yet? did you study?

on the rare occasions where he doesn’t have practice, he spends it with you

whether it be studying together or spending a lazy day in his dorm, being with you is enough

OH and you make the effort to see him! like sometimes you’d watch him practice or if you needed to study for something, you’d stop by to say hi. sometimes, you’d even bring him a big ass meal to eat after

and he appreciates you for that

baseball can be very occupying of his time (and is) so he appreciates your effort to see him, because this man definitely missed you

kazuya can be cold when it comes to emotional availability, but when it comes to you he tries his best

a lot of reassurance and hugs

would run his hands up and down your back as you bury your face in his chest

sometimes would run his fingers through your hair

it helps you relax

would pepper you with kisses around your face

if you ever had a bad day, he would stay with you

if you didn’t want to talk about it, he would respect that and turn to watching a movie or holding you in his embrace

would encourage you to talk about it soon though. as much as he isn’t good with these things, he wants to be in tune with you

he just cares so much

Fellas I am doing TERRIBLY. The dvd program I was using suddenly stopped working (on step 3 I suddenly get a “conversion failed!��� error message that doesn’t explain why it failed, customer support basically said “we don’t update this program anymore get bent”, and all the alternatives I’m looking at/playing with are so buggy/not working uuuuugh.

This is just a vent post sorry I literally spent my whole day off trying to fix this and nada. Like why stop working on season 2 DISC 2. We’ve don’t this 3 times program what changed???

01. how did you find out about anime? Since I was a kid, I’ve been watching anime already on TV so that’s how I found out about anime. And then I started borrowing DVDs from my classmates who loves watching anime too. I would watch online too. 

02. what’s your favorite anime? Tough question, really. I love anime so mentioning only one is out of the question. But for the sake of answering the question, I’d say Daiya no Ace (I even started writing fanfic even though I’m not good at it) and then Sabikui Bisco which is currently being aired right now. I have hundreds of favorites because I just really love anime in general. But let’s stick with these two for now.  ＼(٥⁀▽⁀ )／

03. do you have a favorite j-music/k-pop group/singer? The first japanese band i started listening to was OOR (ONEOKROCK). I even watched their concert here in my country. But right now, I do have a lot of Japanese bands and artists that I like. Special mention: Eve, King Gnu, Official HigeDAN, Kenshi Yonezu. There are a lot more but let me limit myself to these. Otherwise, this will turn to a novel. 

04. when is your bday? and how old are you? Really? Do I have to answer this? I’m quite old, you know. Aug 30 and I’m turning 29 this year.

05. currently, what is your favorite fandom anime? Fabiniku, My Dress-up Darling and Sabikui Bisco (I’m consistently making posts for these series right now).

06. despite the ups and downs on tumblr, what motivates you to stay here today and do your best? Tumblr is incomparable to other social media sites. I can post my interest and hobbies here without being judged. Also, I’m ace-aro and everyone’s considerate of me. I’ve been using Tumblr for almost 10 years now and I haven’t experienced any bad memories so far. This is the best social media site for me.

Differences between the stream and disc version of stage play recordings

(as in the case of KNB butai)

I haven’t seen the exact date announced yet, but a recording of the fourth and final KNB stage play, Ultimate-Blaze, will be available for streaming by the end of May. And I’m planning to rent that because I’m dying to see with my own eyes all the scenes being talked about on Japanese Twitter! You can watch it too - by renting on Amazon Prime Video Japan, which doesn’t require a VPN.

Here are some things to consider when deciding between a stream and a disc copy:

The stream copy is 4x-5x cheaper than the disc copy because you are simply renting the recording. Once you pay for it, you have a limited number of days to finish watching until your access expires. The number of days depends on the platform (Amazon, DMM, etc.). Compared to a DVD/BD, which is yours for life.

The stream is a recording of the main show only. Extras like the backstage videos, ad-libs, different shots of the opening dance, etc. are exclusive to the DVD/BD, which comes out on September.

While the stream and disc version are recordings of the same performance (for Ultimate-Blaze it’s the May 19 show in Fukuoka), they have different cuts. See the following screenshots of Ignite-Zone for reference.

They’re from the same timestamps. As you can see, some scenes are the same but some have different zooms, angles, closeups. The stream and disc copies give you a different viewing experience.
