Ok can you explain the “cole sprouse’s contract is airtight”/ cole stopped jarchie from happening thing to me I have never watched Riverdale but I believe in your beliefs
we have no proof and it’s mostly just joke fodder but in a way we know in our hearts that this is cole’s fault. all kj apa ever does is tongue his male coworkers on set so we know he would have no qualms with bringing jarchie to life. and good god of course we know the writers have no issue with making characters gay. So that leaves the only logical jarchie roadblock as Network/Archie Execs or Cole Sprouse himself. and seeing as Jughead is literally the only character (of multi season relevance) in all of Riverdale that hasn’t done some unarguable gay shit, the money is on Mr Sprouse refusing to play gay. Like even when Reggie was the only explicitly straight character on the show he had still kissed a man. You will never be forgiven for this Cole.
#ask#to be abundantly clear these are jokes#Although there is the snide video of Cole addressing jarchie longcon…..#riverdale

NOVEMBER 2024 WRAP UP
[ loved liked okay nope dnf (reread) ]
Kicking Ice • (The Bride of the Blue Wind) • Animal Farm • The Lost Manuscript • Heart's Blood • Hotel • The Liar's Knot • The Education of Pip • The Glassblower • Terec and the Wall • (The Hands of the Emperor) • The Village Library Demon Hunting Society • One Good Turn • The Silence of Bones • (The Raven Tower) • The Art Thief • Safer Places • Letters to Half-Moon Street
* * * * * *
Letters to Half-Moon Street - an absolutely charming epistolary regency romance told mostly through letters between the main character, his siblings, and his love interest. The mc is gay and demi-sexual (and a younger son) in a queer-norm England where gender norms have been replaced by rules about birth order, and there's magic - it's very Sorcery & Cecelia meets KJ Charles (if not quite as good). As I said, very charming, but when I read the two shorter follow ups, One Good Turn and The Education of Pip, it was pretty clear that the epistolary format (and romance) helped cover a lot of hurts. I applaud the author for including an aromantic character and trying to write stories about finding your place and self-recovery without romance, but in her attempt to create comfort she sacrificed any real development to the characters or the plot. (also, while the rich upper class characters are exceedingly nice to the lower-class characters, we still almost never see any of their servants. hmm.) There's a few more books in the series that are romances (and at least one looks like it might be epistolary), so we'll have to see if she improves. Fantastic covers though!
Safer Places - a comic collection that was supposed to be for my book club but didn't quite work out unfortunately! These comics were very strange and dreamlike, making me not quite sure what happened but very much wanting to think about it. The artist also returned to a story idea several times, sometimes taking on an entirely new shape, and it really lent a sense of connection to the book as a whole. Would recommend!
The Art Thief - I'm not really one for more narrative-type nonfiction or for true crime, but non-violent crime involving fine art? I don't know why I find the fine-art world (and crime) so fascinating, but I do, and I enjoyed this! It was actually a fairly nice, chill read to distract myself with in the middle of the election.
The Raven Tower - revisiting my first Ann Leckie 5 years later - this was incredible! Slow yes, but watching the story build itself out of all the pieces was absolutely fascinating. 100% satisfied with the ending, but it was also a bit of a cliff-hanger? I'll be absolutely fascinated to see what kind of stories Leckie felt compelled to write that take up half of the Lake of Souls collection.
The Silence of Bones - DNF @ 11%. I was very interested in this as a historical mystery with a female protagonist set in Korea, but leery of it being YA. I admit I wasn't a big fan of the audiobook narrator, but an hour and a half into the audiobook I still hadn't hadn't settled into the story, so decided to drop it.
The Village Library Demon Hunting Society - This was very high on my watch-list for 2024 due to my love for CM Waggoner's first book Unnatural Magic, but was somewhat leery of the cozy-fantasy vibes it was giving. My first shock came when it turned out to have a fairly modern and contemporary setting and was not in a fantasy other-world, though as expected it was definitely going for the cozy-fantasy and elderly-person-solves-murder vibes that are popular right now, and with which I've personally had mixed results. Overall though, it was aiming to be a sort of meta-commentary on cozy mystery tropes, which I think it was successful at! I think it definitely did better than its sci-fi cousin, the Midsolar Murders series by Mur Lafferty. I just wish it had a better title, this one is a bit of a mouthful and only semi-relevant.
The Hands of the Emperor - started slowly rereading this a few months ago with the intention of getting around to my first reread of the sequel. Honestly, the perfect book to be reading during an absolutely horrible election, I imagine I'll be burying my head in the Nine Worlds a lot in the upcoming years.
I wasn't quite ready to head directly into AtFotS after finishing Hands, so jumped around to some of Victoria's short stories I hadn't read yet. Terec and the Wall is the second Terec story - I admit I really don't have much interest in this sub-series? This one in particular was at least interesting in the second half because of its crossover with the Greenwing & Dart series, so I recommend you don't read this until you've read that. The Glassblower was...fine. It showed promise, but it was so short! I hope the second part fleshes out more, but idk. It's also related to the Ysthar collection of books, which is the only part of the Nine Worlds that I haven't bothered to revisit yet. To skip ahead a bit, the third of the Sisters Avramapul novellas is finally out! It's been a while so I decided to reread the first two books, starting with The Bride of the Blue Wind. It's a Bluebeard retelling and deals with pregnancy/body horror and is not for the faint-hearted! Sardeet was SO YOUNG in this, I don't think I quite realized before. Good but not my favorite of the series.
The Liar's Knot - loved loved loved. These books are so good even if (or because?) all of the plot twists are somewhat soap-operatic. I think this is my favorite in the series because the characters are a bit more settled but also having to learn to trust each other. And all of the secret identity reveals!!! I had a wonderful time.
Hotel -DNF @ 8%. picked this up at a recent library sale because a mystery at a hotel sounds cool! Then I started it on audiobook and realized it was a thriller (not my thing) written by a guy in the 60's (ditto). What I read was certainly passable and maybe I could have gotten through it, but I lost interest.
Heart's Blood - I've seen Marillier's work around somewhere, and picked this one up at a library book sale at some point. I got so close to DNF'ing this early on and almost wish I had. It wasn't bad I think, it has some beauty-and-the-beast vibes, but it felt excruciatingly slow, and something that I couldn't quite put my finger on was annoying the heck out of me. It made me wish more times than I should admit that I was reading Chalice by Robin McKinley instead. I'm not entirely scared off of trying Marillier's other work, but I'd proceed with extreme caution.
The Lost Manuscript - DNF @ 19%. A surprisingly lighthearted novel told in letters about a woman who finds a manuscript in a hotel bedside table and proceeds to track down the original author, only to discover someone else had added to the manuscript at some point after he lost it. She and her contacts try and trace its history back to find the mystery author. Seemed very nice, if you're looking for something calm and lighthearted? Just not what I was looking for at the time.
Animal Farm - somehow managed to escape reading this for school, and a podcast I listen to loves recommending this, so I picked up a copy at the same sale as Heart's Blood. I feel like I spent most of the book sagely nodding my head, like yup, that's how it can be! Very smart book, not a favorite but I'm glad I read it.
Kicking Ice - backed this on Kickstarter ages ago when I was still deep in my Check, Please! fervor. Finally picked it up because it was short and I needed to finish another book for my owned-tbr challenge. It was ok. Maybe a better choice if you're a young girl interested in hockey or sports in general? I also didn't like the art style used for most of the book, so a pass from me. I'm sure a lot of the info about the NWHL is also outdated by this point.

Research Notes, 6-12-22
i have completed the first stage of research on mis. now i just have to go through her communications and posts by others (mostly denise). frankly, i think she might be the only rival of kj's to match his intensity. given enough time, she might establish a following in her own right. and she's the only one i know of to have biblical kin (she claims to be mary, mother of god), and her obsession with miss piggy definitely has a religious aspect.
oh, and she might be blackmailing the dalai lama. that isn't relevant to anything, but i think it is interesting.
in other news, several people have pointed out kj seems to be attributing quotes from the great play equus. this is strange, as equus is about a young man whose pyscho-sexual, deeply religious fixation on horses as well as his father issues eventually leads to him blinding six horses in a stable he had been working at. there are some key differences. alan strang did not hate horses, he loved them way too much. he saw horses as a replacement or escape from his father instead of rival for his father's affection, and sought out work at the stables. alan was sexually fixated on the horse equus in ways that mirror kj's fixation on his kermit plush. kj has been complaining that he feels his kermit plush is watching him, and if you have seen or read equus you know this is... concerning. i should also note that equus was inspired by a real-life incident.
is this intentional? i doubt kj would be able to get through it, due to all the horses. maybe he just wanted to see daniel radcliffe naked, which definitely led many a teenage girl and gay boy to the play in my youth.
in other news, the soul virus situation continues to develop. i will to monitor it, and hopefully i will find some time to update the entry soon. i realize this is a matter of great importance, but i promised to prioritize the winner of the poll and i am nothing if not a person of integrity.
i must keep it together. i do not want to subject my loved ones to the horrors i document. if i go too far, i might end up like martin dysart.
signed,
the curious

yeah so this they/themme
we met on tuesday at back2earth karaoke which i'd never been to. i only went cuz i was bored & hadn't been to their karaoke night & wanted to check it out & get that focaccia hot honey ricotta cheese plate that i'm crazy about. so i was about to go by myself but i texted cameron on my way out the door & he said he wanted to go, so i picked up cameron & maddie, they told me the person who hosts this karaoke night is a known shithead, then we get there & the cheese plate i love is NO LONGER ON THE MENU & the kj did in fact suck (she kept putting herself on the list & singing ballads like every 3 songs???) & i didn't feel like singing anything cuz the vibe was so bad. none of this is super relevant or interesting, i'm just telling you how my tuesday night went.
anyway then i met this femme & they bought me a drink & eventually i accepted that i was being flirted with, & then i told them like All My Personal Business up front bc idk i'm bad at conversation or probably more accurately i was trying to scare them away, but then we made out by my car & made a date for friday. then the next day we texted a lot & on thursday i said i was going to doc's karaoke & they said they had a date but they might join me after (they are poly btw which isn't what i'm used to but so far isn't a problem for me), & we ended up arriving at doc's at around the same time. we talked a lot more & i drove them home & we made out in the car. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
our official first date was supposed to be friday but i ended up wearing myself out at the lamprey fest & they had shabbat plans anyway (THEY'RE JEWISHHHHHHHHH 😍😍😍) so we postponed to saturday. i picked them up & they gave me flowers 😭 the haunted house restaurant was already booked up but we put ourselves on the waitlist & ended up waiting over an hour for a table, but it was okay bc we just sat by the waterfront & talked & people watched & it was nice. then we had cocktails & an awesome dinner & took pics in the photo booth, then we went to doc's to dance but we both had sore feet from our bad shoes so mostly we sat & talked, then i cried & we went outside & talked more, then i took them home & i said i think our next hangout should be more casual & quiet so i'm not so overwhelmed by multiple things at once. so they're gonna come over on monday & we'll watch movies or whatever.
it's nice so far, it's hard for me because i have a lot of sex & relationship trauma that i've coped with by just ignoring it & now i have to face it, but they're being sweet & patient with me & seem to like... genuinely care & not view it as a chore or emotional labor, cuz i'm very wary about putting that baggage on another person. so it's nice. we'll see! it's nice & we'll see!!!!!

Welcome to New York {KIERAN YATES} !! They are a {36} year old {CIS MAN} who uses {HE/HIM} pronouns. They’re a {BARTENDER} who has been in town for {SIX MONTHS}, who lives in {BROOKLYN}. When looking at {KIERAN} you automatically think of {EARLY MORNINGS & LATE NIGHTS, FALLING-APART CONVERSE HI TOPS, THE CONSTANT FEELING OF BEING OUT OF PLACE} but that probably makes sense since they also remind you of {JOSEPH GILGUN}. You can always hear {IN THE CITY} by {THE JAM} coming from their place. Who knows what kind of trouble they’re going to get themselves into. [penny, 25, gmt]
fullname: kieran james yates. nickname(s): kier, kj. not a particular fan of either, but will answer to pretty much anything. age: thirty-six. birthday: march 28th. gender / pronouns: cis man , he / him. but basically by default because he does not gaf. orientation: pansexual / panomantic. place of birth: chorley, lancashire, england. current residence: brooklyn, new york. height: 6'1. distinguishing features: basically head to toe tattoos. personality: loyal, immature, unreliable, kind-hearted.
( tw ; substance abuse, mental health, alcohol, drugs / use )
born in lancashire to young parents who were struggling with substance abuse ; the last time they were really involved in kieran's life was his birth. and his dad was three hours late for that, so it really set the scene. much of his childhood was therefore spent in and out of care ( mostly in ), but he doesn't hold it against his parents. looking back, it's pretty clear that they were not prepared and frankly ill-suited to look after a child anyway.
kieran hated school from the moment he stepped foot in it. actually, he quite enjoyed the first year of primary school, but from there it went downhill. he was consistently truant from about the age of seven and generally a nightmare for many a social worker, foster parent & group home.
it wasn't until seventeen ( when he decided to go back to try and pass maths & english to get a mechanic apprenticeship ) that he was finally diagnosed with adhd & dyslexia and depression & anxiety, but he knew about the latter. it had the opposite of the desired effect, though -- sure, he could admit that it helped him understand himself a bit more -- but it also became the final nail in the coffin of effort in educational attainment, so he dropped out of college and kept working as a bartender in his local.
with nothing but evening work in the pub to keep him occupied, and a boredom so deep it had definitely seeped through into his bones, kieran turned to petty crimes to entertain himself. it was mostly theft -- he was surprisingly good at it for someone with all the subtlety of a drunk elephant, and for someone who was very often, extremely intoxicated ( by one substance or another, or possibly a few at once ) at the time.
and that's really all he did from the age of seventeen until just over a year ago. he was sent to prison for six months for stealing a car ( actually, he'd really just taken it for a joyride and fully intended to return it, but apparently that wasn't relevant ). admittedly, it was the longest time he'd been completely sober since... forever, and he had ( foolishly, he thinks ) been quite proud of himself for that. the sobriety lasted no longer than 24 hours after kieran had been released and he woke up the next day with the desire to just leave.
he turned to the only person he felt did more than just tolerate him ( a retired teacher & local who'd suggested he go back to college and look into diagnosis, and who had really looked out for him his whole life -- though he has no idea why ) with an idea. to his surprise she agreed to help him move to the states -- he managed to raise most of the money himself, working across several establishments bartending and picking up odd jobs in the local area, but she also helped financially and made sure he had all the necessary paperwork. it was the most focused he's ever been in his life, and because of it he was doing well -- not sober, by any means, but close.
he's been in the city for six months now, living in the renaissance buildings in brooklyn with countless other roommates, and no doubt annoying the hell out of all of them. when he first moved, the wild life had calmed down a little -- for a while he'd limited himself just to alcohol use, but that was of course a slippery slope, and one he slid down almost immediately. he's managed to gain and keep ( somehow ) two jobs bartending ; one in a dive bar and the other in a club, for a few months now, though he is kind of expecting he'll be fired soon. that's usually how it goes, and he can't blame them.
headcanons
a chaos merchant if there ever was one, and kieran lives for it in one sense. it keeps him occupied, there's always something to do, someone to go wild with, but it's also a source of serious conflict for him. he knows at the ripe age of thirty-six he should have a bit more of a grip on himself and probably mature, settle down at some point like people do. but then the predominant part of him thinks he's just not suited for that -- he's not the type of person made to be loved, just... tolerated when a good time is to be had.
needless to say, his self esteem ( and mental health along with it ) is on the floor. he would never admit it, but that is the root cause of his substance abuse. he can feel better about himself for a bit, stop thinking so much and just live in the moment ; have some fun.
does not and doesn't really know how to look after himself. he's six foot, lanky as hell and looks like a strong wind could blow him over and honestly it probably could. he never remembers to eat, cannot cook to save his life, and hasn't ever really tried to.
a sensitive, golden retriever soul beneath all the bravado and intoxication. definitely a ride or die type friend, if a little unreliable -- he'll say he's on his way, then get distracted by a side quest. such a very little / non-existent sense of self-preservation, would tie himself in knots trying to help anyone.
can't really read. well, he can. but not very well at all -- the truth is he barely learnt to in the first place, and he did not keep it up. it's probably the most difficult thing for him to do, and he is very easily dissuaded from trying to do things. it requires effort, and honestly he is a bit embarrassed about it. if you send him a text longer than a sentence or two he will just call you ( or alternatively, just show up ) to find out what's up. actually made reading a novel ( for the first time ) a goal for the year, but he hasn't even picked up a book yet -- and probably won't.
promiscuous is probably not a strong enough word for kieran. the short of it is, he loves people -- platonically, too. you just have to make eye contact with him for three seconds and you're already considered a new best friend. romantically, he's much less forthcoming. prefers and no doubt has had countless one night stands, flings, flirtationships. will flirt with anything that moves and likewise will sleep with anything that moves. the fact that he absolutely hates sleeping alone does play a part in this and there's absolutely a large part of him that would love to cuddle and chat afterwards... but that feels very intimate / vulnerable and he probably just sneaks out a lot to avoid it.
calls everybody -- absolutely everybody -- mate, love, sweetheart, babe, darling and any other term of endearment that takes his fancy in the moment. especially likes it when the receiver gets proper riled up about. bc it's funny innit. strong lancashire accent that he likes to use to fuck around with people.
wanted connections. pinterest board.
literally everything pls. any number of past/present flings, or one night stands. a good influence !! lord knows he needs one. bar regulars. a fellow / mutual bad influence, drinking buddies, weed buddies, etc. roommates & neighbours -- those who hate his disruptive ass, those who don't mind him or at least find him kind of entertaining. cousins, however distant. coworkers. friends with feelings. general friends. found family.

Hi !!! I just stumbled onto your blog!! What's your Danger Days au about, I thought the art looks so cool so far for it!!!!!
Hi hello yes, I’m not going to lie I literally came up with that au two days ago so my thoughts are Very jumbled and rudimentary still but the general idea would go like this:
- Relevant characters would be The Girl, The Director, Kobra, Cherri Cola, Dr. D, and the rest of the Four obviously but mainly those first ones.
- The killjoys fail to save The Girl when she’s six and captured by BLi, none of them die in this universe so they have to leave her there. I’m not sure if they assume she’s dead or what, but certainly it’s accepted that they won’t see her again.
- During the 12 years between the music videos and the comics The Girl is raised by BLi in this sort of Black Widow program thing. Maybe isolated from other people? She definitely undergoes a lot of brainwash-y manipulation stuff to warp her memories of what happened to her with the killjoys. She remembers being with them but thinks she was a prisoner basically. I think it’s important that BLi doesn’t try to wipe her memory entirely, they want her to remember what being a kj was like and who the Four are.
- This au would dive pretty deep into my own headcanons about how the Danger Days universe works. It would be extremely uncannon and campy and a total psychological horror story. Instead of being about the Zones it’d be about BLi and the characters connections to it rather than how they’ve separated themselves from it, bc in this au that tether is very much still there.
- We’d focus a Lot on Kobra and The Girl as two sides of the same coin. Imagine how in Stranger Things S4 Eleven and Vecna were used to show both their stories from one another’s povs. It would be something like that. I’ll just say that the inclusion of Kobra in that last art rather than another character is very intentional!!
- I don’t want to go on a long winded rant about the preternatural sci-fi fuckery that would be ALL OVER this story so just trust that it is a key element. I’d explain that in a separate post because it’s way to long. But this au would see that sci-fi fuckery in a completely different light than a normal timeline would. Instead of being a positive force it would be negative, sometimes outright dangerous.
- Not sure on an ending. I want to say BLi dies but I really don’t know. The characters arcs would be so complicated, I don’t know if it would make sense for everyone to just be fine in the end. I have not gotten that far anyways. I’m still on the fun parts right now.
#this looks like it makes no sense#tldr; the failed lab experiment and the successful lab experiment ultimate show down of childhood trauma#danger days#ttlotfk#killjoys#asks

just watched Haider's last post and comments. It's just disgusting that Tim's fans, also charmies, leave laudatory comments there and admire his collaboration with the nasty trash Jenner. Even Nick's wife - Dree - made a positive comment. Yes, there are a few brave people who wrote the truth, but in general the situation is sad. Tim is now inextricably linked with this KJ cesspool, in each of his and her posts, in the comments of his and her friends people talk about it. Is that what he was trying to achieve with his PR? And no, I don't believe that mom jenner does all this, it's all done exclusively with (IR)Relevant.
I can understand Haider, he doesn't have his own brand, he works for JPG and yes, for money you can dress stupid tasteless rich people, no problem. But he, Timothee's almost personal designer, chose to work with Kylie and make her His Lady. It just screams a lot. But I am inclined it's all decided and agreed with Tim, unfortunately, and soon he will be included in this ugly "romance"
I don't even know where to start to tell you how wrong this is, however much I can agree with most of what you say in the ask and I also partially agree on Haider and I find this collaboration highly distasteful in this moment and I think such comments should be expected, on the other hand it is profoundly wrong to think of going under a person's job post and saying what these people have said. It's not a question of courage but of education on knowing how to stop and not vomit on people who are working everything we think. Could it be related to Timmy or not? Maybe yes'? Maybe not? We'll see, but crossing the line of decency by talking about Timmy when he's got nothing to do with it isn't going to stop what he's going to be either way.

I kinda want to figure out exactly what aro community terms/movements would be like in Norwegian.
off the top of my head there's
loveless
lovequeer
heartless
loveloose
amatopunk
relationship anarchy
I don't have a full idea of all these terms, I do think loveless and lovequeer probably are the most used ones. And I've seen people use loveless to mean different things (both not using love to describe yourself/your experiences and the seemingly basic idea that love doesn't make you human/isn't the whole point)
one thing here is that as a Norwegian I've only heard of this idea that "love is what makes you human" through aro communities. I assume it's a U.S. thing, but feel free to correct me if that's inaccurate.
In Norwegian one very relevant things on the topic of these communities, particularly relationship anarchy is that the word for boyfriend/girlfriend/enbyfriend is "kjæreste" which directly translates to "dearest", which may have some implications (I don't know that most people think about it, but one can see it). At least it's gender neutral.
I'll translate some more relationship, romantic and other arguably relevant terms for y'all.
forhold: relationship (any type, pretty much same usage as English afaik)
vennskap: friendship (venn -skap)
venn: friend
vennine: friends who are girls (mainly used by older folks, definitely in use)
kamerat: friends who are boys (same as previous)
klassekamerat: classmate. Uses boy version for people of all genders. usage is just like in English.
platonisk: platonic. I think it's taken from English. used a bit more rarely than in English.
type: slang for boyfriend. (also used as slang meaning "for example"/"such as")
dame: slang for girlfriend (also means lady/woman).
kjæreste: partner/gf/bf/nbf etc. literally means "dearest".
kj: abbreviation for "kjæreste", sometimes pronounced like K.J.
kjære deg: literally "dear you", sometimes said when trying to calm someone down. doesn't imply anything about a relationship, can even be used in a demeaning way. Can be used with partners too.
kjære: dear. like in English.
å holde noen kjær: caring about someone. includes romance, doesn't necessarily imply it. implies closeness (e.g. familial, platonic)
ektemann/mann: husband. literally means real + man. might have some implications on masculinity
kone: wife
kjærlighet: love (noun).
forelskelse/å forelske seg i noen: falling in love/to fall in love with someone. (for-elske)
å elske: to love, used about anything really, can be said platonically, carries more weight than liking something or someone
å like: to like, not really used about people in the same way as you would say you're "forelsket" in/with them. otherwise like English.
friendzone: friendzone is used as slang.
I guess I could add familial terms too, since I'm bored:
mor: mother
mamma: mom/mommy
far: father
Pappa: dad/daddy
søster: sister
bror: brother/bro
broder: bro (also used in religious context I think)
søsken: siblings (plural). you can technically say "et søsken", but it's not used much
mormor: maternal grandmother (mother's mother)
morfar: maternal grandfather (mother's father)
farmor: paternal grandmother (father's mother)
farfar: paternal grandfather (father's father)
bestemor: grandmother (usually used in place of either mormor or farmor depending on family)
bestefar: grandfather (same as previous)
kusine: girl cousin
fetter: boy cousin
tante: aunt
onkel: uncle
I'm not even trying the rest, idk what "søskenbarn", "niese" or "third cousin twice removed" means.
obviously language may be different different places in Norway and this is just what I could think of. Also, I've not lived anywhere English speaking just so that's said.
To be clear this is all Bokmål, there are some differences in Nynorsk (e.g. syster), but I think you can use most if not all these (excluding slang) there too.
