Kinktober Day 21
(As before, you can find a link to the AO3 version of this and the rest of my Kinktober 2020 prompts on the ‘Masterlist’ section of the blog.)
Another fairly open prompt, but a fun one nonetheless. I suppose Reader here is a little naive? I’m not sure if that qualifies or not, but it’s part of the excuse here.
Kinktober Day 21: Sixty-Nine (Asmodeus | Obey Me!)
“Asmo, why do people make such a big deal about sixty-nine?” You blurted out after a minute of worrying your lip out of nerves and thought.
Previously occupied scrolling through his social media feed in silence Asmo took a moment longer than normal to process the question. “What do you mean, darling?” He questioned, brows knit but curiosity piqued.
“Well, how does anyone enjoy it? Doesn’t it make it hard to focus and both parts worse if you’re trying to give and receive at once?” You could feel the blush coloring your cheeks, realizing how stupid you probably sounded.
Asmo laughed with a little shake of his head. “Hmm, not exactly,” he began, facing you with a soft smile, tapping one manicured nail to his lips. ”You know, it would be a lot easier to show you than tell you,” he explained, his grin a little more sly. ”I’d be more than happy to help if you’d like,” he offered cheerfully.
As he finished speaking, Asmo closed the distance between you, curling slender fingers beneath your chin and cupping your jaw lovingly. Any response you might have had died in your throat at his sudden closeness and, instead, you stared wide-eyed into his pale gaze. ”After all, what better teacher than me? Beautiful, skilled, and generous” He boasted in a purr, leaning in until his lips skimmed yours teasingly.
Normally Asmodeus’ narcissism made you roll your eyes and shake your head, but having him so close, it just added more to your daze. “I-Alright, teach me then,” you managed to get out in a tone just above a whisper, your throat suddenly dry and your voice weak.
You watched the mirth flicker through his eyes at the expense of your reaction. He was being dead serious, of course, though always had been quite fun to tease. You weren’t exactly naive, nor were you affected by his more supernatural charm, but you were still so easily flustered. “Perfect. Meet me in my room a bit after dinner then. Then we’ll have plenty of time~,” he concluded.
Tilting his head, Asmo dipped to cross the tiny distance remaining between you, pressing a quick, soft kiss to your lips. “I’ll see you then, darling, but for now I’ve got some things I need to do.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Shortly after dinner, but long enough not to seem over-eager, you made your way to meet Asmodeus in his room. You knocked and waited to be let in, feeling a touch of nerves race through you. You knew Asmo wouldn’t hurt or mistreat you and stopping would be as simple as asking so you weren’t afraid. Though it was hard not to be just a little nervous.
It only took a few moments before the door was flung open, Asmo standing invitingly in the doorway, dressed in a dusty rose-colored satin robe trimmed with white lace on the cuffs and hem whose material looked rather thin at a glance. “I was wondering how long you’d be,” he said with a smile, beckoning you in with a gentle tug on your wrist.
Sweeping your gaze around the room, you were met with a generally familiar sight. Charming, elegant decor that felt classy but cute and a looming four-poster bed on one side festooned with roses. Asmo had gone the extra mile as well, because of course he had, and it wasn’t the ceiling light that lit the room, but dozens of candles placed throughout, giving the room a soft golden glow. An atmosphere some might have called ‘romantic’, though with Asmo there was no telling if it was for romance, seduction, or even just simple aesthetic.
The sickly sweet smell of roses hung thickly in the air, along with another scent seeping in from the candles. It was hard to place it through the cloying rose, but you suspected it might be something like sandalwood. Despite the glow of the candles the corners of the room were pitched into shadow and you noticed the door leading to Asmodeus’ immense bathroom wasn’t lit.
“What first?” You asked, half-awkwardly, turning away from your survey of the bedroom to look questioningly at Asmo.
“Well, first we both need to warm up! It’s no fun to just skip straight to it! It won’t have nearly the same effect, believe me,” Asmo insisted. “That means we need to get rid of these,” he added, gesturing with a wave of his hands to your clothes and his robe.
He stepped forward into your space, hands smoothly slipping past the hem of your shirt and under before sliding back up. As he went, he pulled the fabric with him, fingertips and two-toned nails brushing against your body. You flinched reflexively from his touch, the featherlight contact making you feel just a little ticklish. Suppressing the sensation, you lifted your arms to make the process easier for him.
Asmo paused in lifting away your shirt when his hands rolled over your chest, unable to resist giving each sensitive bud a pinch that made you squirm and worry your lip. The demon was all knowing grin as he worked the shirt away, well aware of the effects of his touch. He pulled the shirt over your head finally, discarding it on the ground, his rosy eyes taking in the newly exposed flesh.
He moved in even closer, slender fingers settling over your bare waist and trailing to the waistband of your pants and playfully hooking them beneath it. Once again you felt your face heat and redden, acutely aware of the playful, yet sultry expression on Asmodeus’ face. When he bent down, fingers still tucked into your pants, and ran his lips across the column of your neck a much greater heat tingled to life between your legs.
Letting out a low, pleased hum that made you unable to hold back a shiver, Asmo drew your pants down, sweeping his mouth along your skin as he went. The fabric pooled around your ankles in a heap and you half stepped out of them, half kicked them away. You were left standing in your underwear, which was starting to grow noticeably damp as time progressed. Asmo brushed one long finger against your clothed cunt, grinning at the wetness he found through the garment. “You’re more eager than I thought, darling,” he crooned sweetly. “If we keep this up, you’ll be ready in no time,” Asmo continued, pulling his hand away from the apex of your thighs to drag down your underwear and leave them on the floor as well.
His fingers lingered around your hips and thighs, thumbs tenderly stroking across the soft skin. He invaded your space even further again, pressing his lips against yours in an immitation of the kiss he’d left you in the common area with earlier, but more passionate. Behind closed doors, there was room for a hotter touch with no worries of being walked in on - even if from time to time Asmo enjoyed being caught in the act. The loose hanging sleeves of his silken robe added to the light touch on your skin, much cooler than Asmodeus’ warm fingertips.
You were quickly lost to the soothing sensation of his touch and the mold of his lips over your own, feeling the smoldering heat between your legs roar higher and higher. You squeezed your thighs together briefly, attempting to contain the gathering wetness, and you felt Asmo grin against your lips. He broke away at last, allowing you a moment to catch the breath the kissing had wrung from you. “My turn! Try not to stare too long,” he cooedwith a wink as he stepped back and busied himself with the robe’s belt.
Belt undone, his robe fell open and he shrugged his shoulders, the garment fluttering to the ground in a silky heap. The sight of his toned, yet still sleek and slender frame had you feeling even hotter than before. You were beginning to feel almost jittery, this time with anticipation. Asmo’s attention had a way of making the nerves melt away. Or perhaps the passion they inflamed just replaced them.
The small smile plastered on Asmo’s face remained as you gave him a once over, pride permeating the playfulness. He didn’t miss the longer than necessary pause as your eyes trailed lower and found him already stiff and waiting. The simple idea of getting to teach you something so naughty was enough to get him hard, let alone having the pleasure of getting to touch and undress you.
Allowing you another moment to study the perfect body he was so very proud of, he grabbed you gently by the arm, the touch rousing you from your stupor of admiration. “Come on, kitten, I know it’s hard to resist, but we’ve got much more fun things to get to,” he assured you gleefully.
Reaching the side of his bed, he released your hand and climbed onto the sheets, stretching himself along them. His head lay at the foot of the bed and he looked up at you invitingly. "Come here, no need to be shy now," he insisted.
You crawled on the bed after him, carefully setting one leg on his far side and shifting until your knees dug into the sheets beside him. You started to ask whether you should start at the same time or one before the other, but your train of thought was shattered when Asmo reached up and latched onto your ass.
His fingers trailed down the curve to your lips, spreading them open and making a pleased noise at the glistening sight. Without another word, he tilted his head forward and attacked your already leaking cunt expertly. The sudden stroke of his deft tongue along your slit up to your clit almost made you bolt up straight, a low moan bursting from your lips before you recalled this was a game for two.
You bent forward, wrapping one hand around the base of his cock. As you teased the swollen head past your lips, the salty, bitter taste of pre-cum seeped over your tongue. You took in more of his length, temporarily interrupted by a sudden hiss of pleasure as Asmo groaned against your sex at the hot touch of your mouth. Yet his enthusiastic pace wasn't interrupted, his cries of bliss mingling with the dextrous stroke and flick of his tongue and lips.
Feeling the tip of him brush the back of your throat an echoing moan erupted from you, the sound vibrating through his dick in turn. Letting yourself fall into an absent-minded rhythm, you hollowed your cheeks and tried to relax and bob up and down the length of him.
A firm hand dug into the yielding flesh of one of your ass cheeks abruptly, kneading and squeezing as Asmo licked more vigorously at your pussy. Now and then his tongue crept away from your clit, dipping into your entrance and lapping up the wetness there. You tried to ignore some of the tingling tightness building in your gut, moving the hand wrapped around his base to fondle his balls. A shudder coursed through the demon below you, which you took as a sign to keep going.
With your mouth satisfyingly full, you could do little more than suck and lick at his cock. Asmo, however, had the luxury of being able to croon lewdly at you between flicks of his tongue, "Mm, kitten, if I'd known you were so good at this," his words paused as he gave your clit an intense suck, "I would have had to drag you to my bed a long time ago," he finished, punctuating his praise with a long, languid roll of his tongue.
He continued to purr out praise between his attentions, cooing about how good your mouth felt on him and how much the sight of you turned him on. With each bawdy word, your face flushed darker and your heart pounded harder. Between the building pressure in your core, his praise, and the subtle bucking of his hips in time with your motions, your focus for most else as beginning to dwindle. All you wanted was to crest that peak and tumble into the abyss of pleasure waiting beneath. Asmo was closing in on it as well if the increasing roll of his hips and more desperate strokes of his tongue were any indication.
Feeling the bliss you pursued just in reach, you couldn’t help thrusting roughly back into his face, needing just a little bit more. Asmo obliged, latching onto your clit and sucking hard while at the same time wriggling the tip of his tongue against the sensitive bundle of nerves. Like that the coil of heat and tension in your belly exploded, flooding you with a wave of pleasure and making you shout in your bliss
Asmodeus got off on your pleasure as much as your attention, his balls tightening and his dick stiffening further. His chorus of muffled, pitched moans and whimpers joined your screams as he came as well, filling your mouth and throat with his hot, thick release. You tried to swallow as much as you could, still unable to contain your orgasmic sounds.
When the frantic squeeze of your walls died away to short, lingering flutters and Asmo's cock had been spent, you sat up, a trickle of missed cum dripping down your chin. Asmo didn't bother to move, save for running his hands tenderly along your asscheeks, sending a pleasant chill along your spine. "So," he began, his voice breathless but satisfied, "Does that answer your question?"

Mischief, Meet Your Match - Chapter Six (Loki x Reader)
WARNINGS: Violence, Swearing, Smut, Loki
SUMMARY:
Sam would say your liking for bad boys has gone too far.
Tony would kill the God of Mischief with his bare hands.
Steve would lock you in your room and never let you out.
Natasha would probably just throw you off the roof.
But there’s just something about Loki that draws you to him, and you couldn’t help it even if you wanted to.
Masterlist
He didn’t release you until he’d yanked you into a tall building and made you climb several flights of stairs, looking over his shoulder the whole time. He pushed you through a door and onto a roof.
“We had a deal!” He said, outraged, shoving you away from him.
You paused in your visual examination of the city from the ledge of the roof and gave him a derisive expression.
“No, we had a blackmailing. You blackmailed me into watching your ass.” You snapped, partially leaning over the railing and holding your arms out in your best Titanic impression.
“I prefer to think of it as an agreement. I forgave you for deceiving me and even threw in the offer to send you home. All you had to do was help me with one small task.”
“Well I don’t want to help you!” You whined petulantly, crossing your arms.
He rolled his eyes at you childish drunken display.
“Look Mischief, I might find all this kinda exciting but you know who doesn’t? Steve. All The Avengers know is you grabbed me and shoved me through a gateway to god knows where. They don’t even know if I’m alive!” You said, your eyes welling up.
“I don’t have time for your ridiculous emotions. I have to get off this planet because I didn’t exactly make friends when I realised you had abandoned me.” He hissed.
“Then go!” You yelled.
You were being extremely bratty and you could tell he was growing more and more annoyed with it.
Good.
“Oh we’re going.” He informed you with a twisted smirk.
“Unless you’d rather I left you here?” He added.
You glared at him and huffed before you gave up, like he knew you would.
“Fine. Let’s go.” You sniffed.
“This will be even more unpleasant while you’re inebriated.” He relished in informing you as he held the Tesseract out to you.
You shuddered and slowly uncrossed your arms and stomped over to him, glaring hatefully at his smug face the whole time. He faltered slightly when instead of grabbing the Tesseract directly you stood in front of him and clutched at his elbow.
He softened towards you ever so slightly and it almost made you rethink your plans. Almost. You yanked him towards you at the same time you lifted your leg into a highkick and kicked the Tesseract out of his hands and sent it sailing across the roof.
He recovered quickly and almost broke your ribs when he shoved you away and dived after the Tesseract. Seconds before his fingers made contact with it, one of his own knives whirled across the open space and embedded itself in the ground, trapping his sleeve in the point.
“You’re not drunk at all are you, little thief?” He hissed, pulling the knife out and spinning around to slash it at you as you rushed him.
“Not even a little tipsy, Mischief.” You told him with a teasing smirk.
His eyes widened with alarm as you dove forwards, not towards him but an empty patch of ground. You landed on your forearms and twisted your body around, your foot connecting with the Tesseract and sending it skidding across the roof and straight over the edge. You stood up in time so shove Loki aside, stopping him diving after it.
“You stupid little brat.” He spat out.
“Come on Mischief, I screw you over, you screw me over and so on and so forth. Don’t take it personally.” You huffed, ducking under his incoming blow and jabbing your elbow into his solar plexus.
“I mean, it’s basically foreplay for us at this point.” You added, putting your heel onto his hip and hoisting yourself up to knee him in the throat.
“Then I presume you’ll enjoy this, Kitten.” He hissed, wrapping his hand around your thigh and slamming you into the ground with the full force of his strength.
It knocked the wind completely out of you and you barely managed to roll out of the way in time before his boot crushed into your ribs.
“We really need a safeword.” You groaned.
“How about ‘Betrayal’?” He snarled, wrapping his fingers around your throat and picking you up of the ground.
Your shoes were barely scuffing the floor as he squeezed, choking the life out of you and your lungs started screaming for oxygen. You raised your right arm and brought it down onto his wrist, trying to break his hold on you but he just let out a grunt of pain, his grip unfaltering.
“You stupid girl. We could have been allies, we could have worked together! We could have been…” He clenched his jaw and sneered at you as he trailed off.
You managed to push your foot into the centre of his chest and pushed with all your might, ignoring the fact the it felt like your throat was being ripped out by your actions until he stumbled backwards. He was thrust back from you and you dropped to the ground, gasping for air.
“Allies? You’re hiring mercenaries to attack MY home.” You spluttered.
Because you weren’t completely stupid. You’d taken Loki when he had made a another attack on your planet and he wanted you to help him replace the allies The Avengers had killed in battle or arrested. No matter your feelings about Loki personally you couldn’t be responsible for helping him acquire help when you knew in the end, it was your planet that would suffer for it.
“I’m not trying to take over your planet, I’m trying to save it.” He snapped.
There was a long pause after his confession.
“Pardon?” You finally asked.
“I asked you to watch my back kitten, because there’s a bounty on my head. From the same enemy who is planning to attack Midgard.” He huffed.
“You’re lying.” You said but it came out more of a question than a statement.
There couldn’t be any truth to that, could there? A small bubble of hope formed in your chest despite your brain telling you it was a trick.
“Reasonable doubt but I am telling the truth. What do you know of the Kree?” He sighed.
“Uh, they came to earth once before and tried to turn humans into soldiers by mixing dna. That’s why we have Inhumans.” You recited, struggling to remember what you knew about the Inhumans history.
“A Kree insurgent has broken ties with his people and amassed an army. He plans to add the Inhumans to that army.”
“Let’s say you’re telling the truth… What’s it got to do with you?” You asked suspiciously.
“He wants the Tesseract.” Loki said like it was obvious.
“Of course he does. And you don’t want to give it to him so you’re throwing your lot in with us humans.” You scoffed.
“Like that charming Midgardian saying goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” He said, stepping closer to you hopefully.
“You aren’t trying to save my world, you’re trying to use it to save your own ass so you can keep your power and take over us another day.” You sighed.
He didn’t deny it and that was like a stab in the gut to you. You wished you could trust him but you knew it wasn’t possible. You couldn’t work with him, you couldn’t be allies. Even if he was telling the truth now, he had waited until he had no other choice to tell you.
“Maybe, but that’s tomorrows problem. For now, trust me. I know it isn’t easy Kitten but you have little choice. So take a leap of faith.” He beseeched, holding out his hand.
Your mind raced with all the possible implications of possibilities. You didn’t know what to do.
~~~Then~~~
The back of your skull collided with the gym mat and you groaned.
“What was that?” Natasha demanded, holding her hand out to pull you to your feet.
“I tried to do that thing you do with the thighlock.” You winced, rubbing your tender head.
“You failed.” She pointed out dryly.
“No shit Sherlock. It’s not as easy as you make it look.” You pouted.
“I make it look easy because I’ve practiced it so much that it is easy to me. I didn’t just see someone do it and randomly attempt it.” She snorted.
“Will you teach me?” You asked her hopefully.
“Yes. And you should have asked in the first place.” She said, rolling her eyes at you.
The next thing you knew, Natasha’s thighs were wrapped around your neck. It was not as much fun as you had thought it would be. She twisted her upper body and for the second time in as many minutes you found yourself slamming into the ground.
“What was the difference between when you did it and I did it?” She asked, sitting next to you while you stared at the ceiling and groaned.
“You didn’t completely miss me and send yourself flying?” You asked.
“Because I knew where I was going, what I was doing. You jumped and would have landed on my shoulders if you didn’t second guess yourself. You have the physical movements down. You might have not been able to actually topple me but you would have been able to wrap your thighs around me. You changed trajectory in mid-air.” She sighed.
“So in future, jump blindly and hope for the best?” You concluded.
“In future, trust yourself. You had already made the decision, next time, follow through. If you set out on a course of action you need to trust that you made the right choice and not let anything make you doubt.” She scolded.
You heard the gym doors open and turned around to see who it was. Natasha didn’t look. Steve looked between you and her with his jaw tightly clenched before he shook his head and stormed back out. You drew your knees up to your chest and wrapped your arms around them, trying to make yourself as small as possible.
“You’ve set out on this course of action Kotyonok, trust yourself and don’t let anything make you doubt it.” Natasha said knowingly, nudging you with her elbow.
You took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.
“Ok, let’s try it again.” You said, jumping to your feet.
~~~Now~~~
“Alright Mischief. I’ll take a leap of faith.” You told him, taking his hand.
“Wise choice kitten.” He commended.
“I know.” You smirked, squeezing his hand and dropping onto one knee, twisting his arm and lifting, sending him over your shoulder and into the ground behind you.
You didn’t look back, you ran until you collided with the railing. You pushed yourself upwards and turned your head to meet his incensed glare.
And then you grabbed the railing and vaulted yourself over it. The last thing you saw was the anger on his face dissipating into confusion and panic, and then you were falling.
Loki hurled himself across the rooptop and looked over the railing, half expecting to see your broken body on the ground but you were nowhere to be seen. He frowned, looking around in befuddlement. A low humming noise was all the warning he had before a gust of air forced him backwards and everything clicked into place when the air before him shimmered and the cloaking shield was dropped.
You were stood on the top of a spacecraft, your hair whipping around your face as it rose. He watched as you shrugged of your jacket and knelt down and used it to carefully pick up the Tesseract. He snarled, snatching a knife from his belt and flinging it towards you but it bounced harmlessly off the ships shields and fell to the ground.
“You said it yourself Mischief, this planets filled with people for hire. So I hired some.” You called out, waving goodbye to him as the ship ascended.
You might not have been able to pick up a signal on your phone but it wasn’t completely useless. There were plenty of videos on it and all you’d had to do was show a group of friendlyish mercs footage of the technology at your disposal. A few images of Tony blasting his replusors and footage of a quinjet in action and they were sold. They’d deliver you back to Earth and in exchange, The Avengers would upgrade their ship and weapons. You were sure Tony would honour the deal you made. Even on this side of the universe it wasn’t what you knew that counted, it was who you knew.
All you’d had to do was take a quick swig of liquor when you saw Loki walking down the street and have the Captain of your new crew of allies throw you into his path. Then they had subtly followed you when he dragged you away. You’d seen the ship hovering below you as soon as you’d looked over the railing before Loki had begun berating you and had carefully kicked the Tesseract onto it, letting Loki believe it had fallen to the ground.
Now you were going home, back to Steve, Tesseract in hand and Loki could do whatever the hell he wanted. You should have tried to take Loki in as well but you told yourself it would be impossible, you told yourself you couldn’t fight Loki alone. You ignored that voice in your mind telling you that you just didn’t want to take him in and have him locked up. You shoved down that voice telling you that you’d screwed up and when Loki attacked Earth next time it would be your fault. You couldn’t listen to it, you couldn’t think about that.
You looked down as the figure of Loki grew smaller the higher the ship carried you and fought down the bile rising in your throat. You had no choice but to do this to him because as much as you wished differently, you and he weren’t on the same side. As charming, alluring and fun as he was, he was still the villain.
You walked to the edge of the ship, knowing you had to get inside it soon but wanting a last look at the god who’d wormed his way under your skin. But it wasn’t an angry Loki standing alone you saw. It was an alert Loki whirling around to defend himself as the doors to the roof burst open and a group of armed warriors poured onto the roof.
“Shit.” You swore as laser blasts from the alien guns lit up the night.
You could see Loki fight back, magic pushing them back and when he engaged in hand to hand combat you smirked despite the situation. You knew you’d been holding back when you fought him but you didn’t realise until now how much he had been holding back as well. He could have killed you if he wanted. Even after you kicked the Tesseract off the roof he’d been more concerned with trying to get you to join him. When you’d abandoned him at the Tavern he had been more irate than murdery.
Everything you’d learned about Loki from Shields files painted the picture of a raging psychopath hell-bent on world domination who would kill anyone who stood in his way. Nothing you’d seen since you knew him supported that. He was not everything you’d been told he was. He was dangerous, lethal and filled with hate and anger. He had kidnapped you.
But then he had enchanted you with allspeak, because you wanted to be able to connect with another species, he hadn’t understood your wonder but he had done it anyway. He had patiently (for him) explained the different species to you. He had been kind. And the only way you had been able to betray him in the first place was because he had trusted you.
He had trusted you.
From above you watched the fight unfold. There was every chance this was an illusion, a trick of his. But…. If there was even the smallest chance it wasn’t then you couldn’t leave him.
“Drop the shields!” You yelled.
You heard a confused shout from inside the ship before the shields shimmered.
“Sorry Natasha, sometimes trust is just misplaced and you’ve gotta change course because you were wrong.” You whispered.
And then without a second thought, you jumped. When you jumped from the roof away from him you’d done it because it was what you were supposed to do, your priority had to be recovering the Tesseract. When you jumped from the ship, towards him you did it because it was what you needed to do, because no matter what sides you were on, you didn’t want to see him come to any harm.
You heard the snap in your left leg before you felt it when you landed on the roof but you ignored it, letting the momentum of your fall carry you into a roll. You snatched a discarded gun from a corpse as you came to a halt and aimed it at the enemy closet to Loki, shooting him straight through the shoulder. Luckily the blast knocked him back and he stumbled over the railing, falling to his death. You adjusted your aim and braced for the kickback this time as you fired again, and again. Loki didn’t waste any time being surprised by your reappearance and let loose with a blast of green light, sending more of them sprawling back as he made his way over to you. You were to busy trying to provide him with cover to notice the enemy at your back take aim until Loki dove for you, knocking you out of the way.
“You came back.” He said in wonder, looking down at you as you shot the bastard who tried to shoot you.
“I did.” You confirmed, pushing him off you and continuing to shoot while you looked around for a way out.
“Why?” He asked, ignoring the literal gunfight happening around him.
“Can we kiss and make up later, I’m a bit busy right now.” You yelled, barely managing to throw yourself aside to avoid being shot in the head.
The sting on your neck and the smell of singed hair let you know you hadn’t been entirely successful.
Loki thankfully moved away from you, back into the fray. You knew you would have to have the conversation about why you came back for him eventually but you weren’t sure how it was going to go. What were you supposed to say to him? You couldn’t admit the truth, that there was a war going on inside you and you were torn apart between being loyal to your friends and making Steve proud, and listening to your heart which was slowly starting to attach itself to Loki.
You gingerly stretched your leg but the break hadn’t healed yet. Broken bones took longer to heal than broken flesh and it wasn’t going to be able to support your weight yet. Which left you sitting on the ground with a stolen gun that you weren’t sure how to use properly and no idea how much ‘ammo’ was left in. A quick glance to your left showed Loki using magic and knives to take down a good chunk of the enemy but it wasn’t enough. There wasn’t a way to win this, not one you could see. Even if your new friends in the air above were to help, they couldn’t blast your attackers without blasting you and Loki. Which only left one option.
“MISCHIEF!” You yelled, reaching under your shirt to pull the wadded up jacket out.
He looked over just as you tossed it to him and he caught it, looking surprised when he realised you’d just thrown the Tesseract at him. A blast tore through your upper thigh and you hissed in pain, returning the shot with a more fatal one of your own.
“Go!” You shouted to him and a brief second later you looked back to see him holding the Tesseract in his hand before he disappeared in a blue flash.
Now you were outgunned and outmanned and everybody on the roof knew it. With startling clarity you realised that you didn’t regret the choice to throw him the Tesseract. There was no way out of this for both of you and even if you knew how to work the Tesseract yourself, you weren’t leaving him a second time. You dropped your stolen gun and held your hands up in surrender. It was your last hope, that they’d let you live long enough for you to fight your way out but if they killed you anyway… well at least Loki was safe.
“Take her.” One of them, presumably the leader, snarled.
As they approached you felt a breath ruffle your hair and someone wrapped an arm around your torso.
“Son of a bitch.” You muttered under your breath.
“Is that anyway to talk to your valiant rescuer?” Loki whispered in your ear.
He hadn’t really left, he’d just created an illusion that made it look like he had.
He dropped the spell that made him invisible and as the attackers made a collective yell of surprise and raised their guns, he used the Tesseract for real this time, taking you both far away from the rooftop.
A/N - @captainamericasbeard was a massive massive help in this chapter. Her notes and feedback were vital and really insightful and she talked me down from fucking hating this whole chapter to begrudgingly posting it (Which is huge for me, I’m stubborn and dramatic and flounce a lot). She’s the best Beta ever.

Love Make the Heart Grow Weaker
A crack of lightning ripped through the air in front of Soldier 76, the boom followed not too long after the strike. Soldier 76 growled as he only good jacket continued to soak in the rain. He was almost back to his home base, well, if he could even call it that. It was an old run down building that had been bombed not too long ago. Sad rusting metal was bent in ways it shouldn't be and some were even split in half. The concrete that surrounded the metal had been dimpled from the elements of the world, leaving the walls to sag around him.
The attack happened so fast, no one was prepared for it. Members of a group that went by the name of Talon were ruthless and unforgiving on the small town. No body knew what they wanted, or if what they wanted was even there. He growled at the thought of all of the families he had to help bring to safety, how many bodies he had to help unbury, and how many lives were lost. He helped with it all, yet he didn't know why he did.
After all of the hiding and lurking, he finally gave in to his commander side of things. He knew he needed to help, in any way he could. After all, he lost everything, it wasn't fair for other people to lose everything as well. Before the fall of overwatch, he had it all. A high rank, a great body shape, all the friends he could possibly want and a beautiful-
“Angela,” He whispered under his breath. The thought of his love made his body crumble beneath him. Oh how he missed her so. Out of all the things he had during his reign in Overwatch, she was the one thing he missed the most. How her beautiful eyes glimmered with happiness at the sight of a child taking its first steps, or when a patient was all healed and ready to go, thanks to her handy work. Or even when he did the silliest things around her or, in his words, try to be a manly man. The way her hair flowed ever so gently over her shoulders. It was just long enough to make it past her collar bones. The blond had seemed to take over his life with her shining personality.
He had never loved anyone more than he loved her, and killed him to say so.
The ground beneath him had turned to mud, covering his newly shined steel toed boots. This only seemed to worsen his mood. The rain kept pelting down on him and the wind was unforgiving on the lone soldier. Even thought he wasn't exactly seen as a bad guy, he still felt like one, for he was the cause of Overwatch’s downfall...
All of the people he saved in this city after it was bombed were sent off to a much safer part of the land. But for him? He chose to stay behind. Although he didn't know what the enemy wanted, he knew for a fact that they would come back. And when they did, boy would they have a grand ol’ time messing with the wrong person.
After days upon days of searching and prowling, he still couldn't find any sign of enemy presence. Not that this group was any smarter than a pair of pigs, but they were ruthless, careless and heartless in everything that they did. He scowled under his breath from the thought of what the group had put so many people through. It just wasn’t fair for them.
Suddenly, Soldier’s ears picked up a small cry for help, only, his was no ordinary cry for help. His legs shot into action in search for the victim. No matter who or what it was, he was determined to help. Only when his eyes landed on a pair of blue frightened eyes wedged in between two large slabs of cement, his heart broke. Gingerly removing his glove, he picked up the small little kitten from the ground. By the looks of it, the kitten was female with an orange tabby coat. It cried and cried while shaking in fear.
“You lost little girl?” Soldier asked holding the kitten closer to him. The kitten buried her face into his chest and curled up in hopes of staying warm. Soldier sighed. Now that he had found the kitten, there was no way he could leave her here.
“Come on, lets get you home and dried up.”
The rest of his walk to his little cove he called ‘home’ was longer than he thought it would be. Half way through their walk, he unzipped his jacked and placed the kitten inside to keep her warm. Falling asleep almost immediately, he knew she must have been crying for a long time.
“I’ve got you in my sights,” he grunted as he climbed over more war torn buildings. His base was finally in his line of sight.
Finally stepping out of the rain and into the sheltered environment, he released the kitten from his jacket before taking his soaked clothes off all together. In the corner of the small room was his so called sleeping area, which held a blanket, a mix of torn fabric and a makeshift pillow.
The kitten, which was shaking from the cold once again, was still covered in a layer of dirt and soaked mud. It mewed weakly and looked up at soldier once more, as if she was unhappy to be covered in dirt. Soldier sighed and picked the kitten up to the small sink that managed to survive the attack. He turned the faucet on and began to wash the kitten.
“I’m sorry I’m sorry, I know its cold water,” he said apologetically, “but you want to be clean don’t ya?” The kitten didn't seem understand and took the cold bath as a term for torture instead.
Working as fast as he could, he managed to wash, dry, and warm the kitten within a couple minuets. Placing the kitten in his shirt against his chest, he then proceeded to cover himself with the only blanket that he had to insure the kitten’s warmth. The rainfall had finally stopped and the night finally settled in.
A cool breeze invaded the small area. On a normal night, it would leave him to shiver and fight for warmth, only tonight was anything but normal. With the kitten snuggled up against him, he seemed to be just fine. As hard as it was for Soldier to admit it, he really did enjoy the kittens company.
“Gotta keep you safe little kitten... gotta get you to safety...”
When morning finally came, the sun wasn't what woke Soldier up. The sounds of a crying, hungry kitten was the only thing that seemed to ring in his ear.
“Ok ok ok little one, let me see what I even have.” He chuckled as he stood up. The kitten, which was now waddling around on the ground, followed him every where he went, as if she were interested in learning about the world she was in.
“Alright, we have some water aaaannnd.... hm..” what do kittens eat other than meat and milk? He thought to himself. Technically they can and will eat anything, but thats not always the best for them. Soldier hemmed and haa-ed about what to feed the kitten.
“You know what? Why don’t we go on a search for something. Yeah?” The kitten only mewed louder.
He took that as a yes.
As he began to get dressed, he couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of the little kitten rolling around and just being so gosh darn cute. He knew if he got attached, it would only hold him back, but the nearest civilization was miles away. He knew he would have to make the journey, therefore he declared that it would be the next day, seeing as the two had already burned so much daylight.
“Ok you little peanut...” He paused as he placed her in his jacket.
Peanut...
The word seemed to put him into a deep thought. It seemed to be the perfect name for her. Only he wondered.... She would hold him back, yet it already reminded him so much of his love....
Soldier decided to put his foot down and finally give himself some slack.
“How'd you like to be my little companion?” He asked the kitten. The question only made her mew longer, not to mention louder. Laying her head against his chest with a slight tilt, he took her answer as a yes, “then I gotta give you a name. How about Peanut?”
The kitten refused to answer.
“Peas for short?” He tried. After all, peanuts were his favorite snack. The kitten then proceeded to yawn and snuggle into him, “okay then Peanut it is.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Their walk around the debris was tough but manageable for Soldier. He didn't mind walking around if it meant protecting the little gift the world had given him.
“Alright Peanut, here we are.” He said as he entered a run down store that was effected by the attack. The owner of the store was said to have passed, leaving Soldier feeling a little guilty, but at the same time, this was just what he needed to live until the enemy team decided to personally raid the run down area. Even though he still didn't find what they were looking for or even know what they wanted, it was still his job to take them out once and for all.
The sound of glass being crushed beneath his shoes echoed in the abandoned store. The only source of light came from outside of the store, all the lights inside were blown. Proceeding with caution, Soldier walked into the store. Fresh produce was scattered along the ground, some even began to rot. Graciously pulling a heavy duty flash light from his pocket, he scanned the store in hopes of finding some kind of food for the kitten.
“Let’s see here, milk maybe? No, the milk would probably be bad by now, but what about...” he trailed off as his eyes landed on a sign that read ‘cat food’, “maybe we’ll find something for you there.” Even though he knew that the kitten was far too young to eat any sort of cat food, he still had to try. Once he reached the isle, he became overwhelmed.
Bags of food were scattered all across the floor along with cat kibble decorating the floor like snow. Cans were busted open and laying messily on the ground. Trying to find what he was looking for would be quite stressful. In the end, he thought that it would be best to start looking right away.
As he looked at shelf after shelf, he began to give up hope. Feeding Peanut things her body wasn't ready for could be fatal and he knew it, yet, if she didn’t eat anything at all, she would perish much faster. Soldier decided to give it a shot.
“Alright Peas... Peas?” His heart fell at the sight of little Peanut. Weak and limp in his jacket, eyes barely open. The sadness Peanut bared seemed to seer his heart. He’s heard of what people call, ‘the last hurrah’. Where hours before death, a person or animal would regain all their bodily functions perfectly without fail. Of course, the speed and mobility weren't fast, but they were still manageable. He worried for little Peanut. She couldn't have used the last of her energy to cry for help, or snuggle into him the way she did.
It began to dawn on Soldier that he truly didn't know the last time she had eaten. It could've been hours, days or even weeks. She had to make it, she just had to. Looking at the can of adult cat food, he knew that there had to be something else, something that little Peanut could eat. With his heart pounding in his chest, he was determined to find something better.
Tearing through the shelves of cat food, throwing everything aside, he finally found it. The last can of wet food for kittens. A smile broke out on his face and tears swelled in his eyes. Maybe he really was good for something after all. He proceeded to make a small area on the ground for her to eat as well as look for a tiny bow to put the mush into. Grabbing the nearest bowl he could, he opened the can and dumped its contents into it the best he could.
“Alright Peas, come on, you can do it.” He chanted as he drew Peanut from the inside of his jacket. Her body felt limp and weak, but he was determined to save her. Placing her on the ground, he realized that eating would be something she wouldn’t be able to do on her own. The minuet her legs hit the ground, her body fell over, “I’ll help you Peas, I will,” He sat down with her and placed the flash light on the ground illuminating the small area. Using his finger to scoop some of the food onto his finger, he held his hand in front of Peanuts mouth. Slowly but surely, Peanut figured out that the food was in the bowl. Finding the strength to stand up, she placed her head in the bowl and began to eat away.
Relived, he sat back and watched her eat till her hearts content. But as he sat, he noticed a messy rack of collars at the end of the isle. Once he was sure that she wasn't going to go anywhere, he stood up and walked over to the rack. Collars of all colors, shape and sizes sat before him. One of which was leather with a piece of metal embedded into it. He smiled to himself and walked back over to Peanut.
“I found a cute collar for you Peas, I hope you like it.” Peanut looked up at him as he used a nail he found on the ground to scratch the name ‘PEANUT’ and ‘belongs to: Jack Morrison’ into the metal. He gently placed the collar around her neck and stood back admiring his work.
Oh how he loved her, then again, Angela would’ve loved her even more. She always had a way with cats, especially the orange tabbys. Researchers say that 90% of orange tabby cats are male, but Peanut seemed to be the acceptation.
“Welcome to the squad Peanut.”
A week passed since their discovery of the small store. Every day since, Peanut had been growing bigger and stronger. She was finally able to walk on her own around their living area (although Soldier would never let her walk when they went on their scavengers.) It was still unbelievable to him that he let little Peanut wiggle into his stone cold heart. The thought of letting her go was just too much for him to bare. She reminded him so much of Angela it hurt. She loved cats so much. Any cat was an instant friend to her and the orange tabbies seemed to be her favorite. Oh if only she could meet you and spoil you with her kisses. Soldier thought.
Peanut looked up at him and mewed at him as she pushed her food bowl towards him.
“Done already? Wow Peas, you're developing quite the appetite,” She cocked her head at him, as if she pretended to not know what he was taking about, “ah you little rascal.” He ruffled her fur and rubbed her ears a bit. Looking at his watch, he noticed that it was nearing time to go on their daily perimeter check.
Without wasting much time, he threw on the little side bag he had found and placed Peanut into the bag. Soldier then continued to pile on the rest of his gear on. He packed some snacks in the same bag as Peanut, just incase either of them needed some energy for later. Along with Peanuts food, he packed two bowls for him to use when she was hungry. Since she ate like a hog, meaning two to three meals a day, her second meal would be during their walk. Last but not least, he filled up his water bottle. Using her little hind legs to stand on the water bottle he had put in the bag, she placed her paws on the lip of the bag, letting her head poke out so she could look around.
“Alright, lets move out soldier.” He said as he stepped out of his little homey space.
The sun shone brightly and beat down on Soldier and Peanut. Most days, he would hate his walks. Like the day he found Peanut. It was cold, rainy and windy. Not exactly his forte. Yet the days where the sun was blistering down his back were not any better. But today, as the sun shone bright in the sky, he, for once, didn't mind.
Once they got half way through their walk, he decided to take a break. Walking over 20 miles a day wasn't any light work. He set his gear down in a shady place for them to rest in. Letting Peanut out of the bag, he couldn't help but wonder when the attacking team would come. It had been days now, what were they waiting for?
Soldier shook the thought from his head and continued to eat the snacks he had packed. Looking over at Peanut eating happily, he couldn't help but think of his past team. Yeah, sure, Peanut was on his team now, but his original team still held a special place in his heart. Especially Angela.
A heavy sigh escaped his lips. He knew he would never see his angel again-
Meeeerrow? Peanut meowed looking up at Solider. He looked down at her and smiled. It was then he realized that maybe he needed to move on from Angela, maybe he needed to put his love for her behind him in order for him to move on. It was a tough thought for him to think of, but he would have to face it sometime in his life. Although the picture of her in his mind was crystal clear, he would some how have to blur it the first chance that he got. He couldn't let the thought of her get in his way anymore.
He took a deep breath as he stroked peanut’s fur. Maybe Peanut was all he needed. A smile bore through his face as he looked down at her. It must've been destiny that brought them together-
The sound of a bomb going off took Soldiers attention off of Peanut.
That’s the que I’ve been waiting for.
Soldier jumped to his feet and loaded his gear. He couldn't waist any more precious time. As the amount of items before him decreased, he was soon left with one more item in front of him.
Peanut.
God, he knew she was going to hold him back, but now that they were this close and so dearly attached to each other? Sirens kept going off in his brain, indicating that he needed to go, he needed to finally take the members of Talon out once and for all. Yet, for what cost? He had just gained back all he had lost from just a tiny little kitten...
Fuck. It. Learn to stop being such a weakling and move on!
He said to himself before darting off towards the center of battle, leaving Peanut crying for him as he moved further and further away. Soldiers heart broke as he ran, but his legs kept moving him forwards. This was the end for them.
This would be her first time back out on the battle field since Jack had died. She didn't know if she would be able to do it. Her grip on her staff tightened as a thin layer of sweat dripped down her forehead.
“You ok there doc?” Winston asked. He and the team were more than concerned for her and her wellbeing. War was a sensitive topic around her since they told her about the news.
“Oh, yes, I’ll be ok.”
“You know you don't have to participate in the cross fire if you don't want. I know it was your choice to come but it’s still your choice whether to shoot for not.”
“Thank you Winston, I really do appreciate it,” She gave a slight smile towards her fellow team mate and looked out the window as the chopper proceeded to grow closer and closer the ground. She swallowed as the chopper landed. It wasn't their big chopper, since only a quarter of the team was going in. Once they received news on the landing of a Talon chopper, containing about 4-5 people, they immediately boarded their fastest helicopter and took off right away.
Mercy, as always, thought that they were moving too fast and that they should take a moment to think about the situation at hand, but the rest of the team disagreed with her. The group had been harassing the small city for too long. They needed to put an end to the harassment.
The group piled out of the small area and hustled to the coordinates Pharah was sending to them back at the base. Updating their movement every minuet of the mission. They were moving fast, but not fast enough.
“Winston do you copy?” Phara’s voice rang thought his ear piece.
“This is Winston, what seems to be the need for attention?”
“Well, before the team left, there were only 5 members of Talon.”
“And?” He pressed.
“Well, now theres a straggling sixth.”
“Why would that be concerning to us?” He questioned.
“It seems to me that they’re going rouge. Our radar picked up their vitals after you guys had left. It seems to be that they have been on the outer edge of the city this entire time. He was moving towards the group of Talon members, but now it looks like he's heading back to the place we located him in.”
“That’s strange,” He commented. The team had come to a halt in confusion as to what was going on, “you said they’re heading back to his original location, away from the Talon group?”
“Affirmative.”
“Well keep an out for them and keep us updated. If there are any signs that they’re with Talon let us know ok?”
“Will do sir.”
“Alright team, lets move out!” Winston ordered. The team followed behind him, yet Mercy was tailing at the end of the line. As she followed them, she still wasn't sure if she was truly up for this. Of course she knew that she would be able to be protected from the crossfire, but the mere thought of being around the explosions and the flying debris just seemed like a lot.
As she looked up from the ground, she realized that she had fallen further behind than she thought. This left her alone with no one in sight. She was lost and alone. The grip she had on her staff tightened as she tip toed further in the direction she thought the rest of the team had went in. The grinding sound her teeth were making against each other seemed to comfort her just a little bit, enough to keep her legs moving. Her legs began to move faster and faster as the adrenalin coursed through her veins.
Only minuets later did she heard the gun shots and the bombs that went off. They were not too far away from her. Her wings allowed her to glide over to the sounds as fast as possible. The only problem that was now in her way was that she had no clue where her team was. She could be flying right into the enemy’s trap. Thinking hastily, she flew on until she was as close as she thought she could get without getting in between the cross fire.
Arms shaking and body tense, she decided that she needed to move on, man up, and forget about the past. No more Jack or Gabe to hold her back now. It was just her and her caduceus blaster. She laid her staff on the ground where she stood and pulled her blaster out. A loud gun shot roared from the area next to her. Now was her time to shine.
Darting out from behind the large concrete wall that was giving her cover, she shot blindly in towards the area of the sound. Squeezing her eyes shut, three rounds exploded from her blaster. Her eyes opened on the last shot. The ammunition just nicked the corner of the mans visor, allowing the front of the mask to shatter into pieces under the intense pressure. He cried out in pain and stumbled backwards before falling on his back, his hands covering a very small part of his chest as he did.
She had done it. She had hit the enemy! And all it took was-
Even from across the land scape, she would recognize that face anywhere.
What have I done?
Snarky voices rang out in the air.
“His by his own team mate. What a shame!” The voice laughed. Several others were followed by the remark. “He thought he could stop us solo. Looks like he's one less person we have to worry about.” Their snickers continued until they were no longer in hearing range. Mercy’s heart broke. Her legs carried her forwards towards the man, it soon turned into a sprint.
What. Have. I. Done.
She repeated again. Falling to her knees next to him, her hand gently caressed his face. It was old and weary, aged and worn. The damage had been done to what once was a young solider.
“Jack?” Her voice cracked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
His sole focus was on the enemy.
Talon had finally arrived for their final fight. Today would be the day he finally took these guys out. Oh how he waited so long for this day. His hand was firmly wrapped around his pulse riffle and he was ready to fire at any moment. Not two seconds later did he see the reckless group of people walking towards him. They were right out and in the open. Perfect shots.
There was movement in his jacket reminding him to keep a good half of his body hidden from any shots that came his way. Not only was his job to protect, but it was also to attack. He grunted as he prepared to fire at the mass that was heading towards him.
The men suddenly scattered and hid behind all the walls they could thrown soldier off guard. They couldn't have known where he was or where he was located. He was hidden, it was impossible!
The firing had suddenly started and soldier was more than ready to take these men down. Peeking around the corner, he slowly located where each enemy had hidden. Any second now, one would peek out of their hiding spot and-
POW POW POW!
Three shots buried them selves into three different cement walls. He missed? He was stunned by his mistake and proceeded to keep himself covered. He couldn't risk getting hurt.
Try again.
He thought to himself. Giving himself the time to lock onto three more targets, he prepared himself to pull the trigger once more. The squirm in his jacket made him shift at the last moment before he pulled the trigger.
POW POW POW!
Again, all three shots hit the walls around the men. What is up with me today? He questioned as he prepared to take his next shot.
Thats when he saw her.
Out of the corner of his eyes he saw her. A radiant yellow glow surrounded her and wings sprouted from her back. God has she changed. She no longer wore the deep blue combat suit she made way back before the fall. A glowing halo sat upon her head instead of her little white medic hat. A full valkyrie suit covered her body, the one she went on and on about wanting to make.
“It’ll keep me even more protected than I already am!” She would exclaim when they went on their daily walks. And god did it do the job. But even after all these years, he still managed to recognize her beautiful face where ever she was.
Oh how he just wanted to-
POW POW POW!
A sudden pain grew in his chest and his stomach along with a shattering noise coming from the cracking of his mask. He didn’t expect it to end like this, not after all he had gone through. The sun glared on his naked face as he stumbled back on to the ground. Before he could hit the ground, he wrapped his arms around his right side of his body, making sure that nothing would be injured after the fall.
The sleepiness soon settled for the fallen soldier. His vision became blurred. Even with Mercy as a healer, he doubted that she would even think of helping him, let alone healing him. The clouds above him spun round and round as his jacket squirmed once more.
The sound of feet hitting gravel entered his ears and into his brain, allowing him to process that someone was approaching him. Mercy’s knees hit the ground so hard she thought she broke her knee caps.
“Jack?” Her voice wavered. Heart broken and shaken to the bone, she was clueless as to what she was going to do.
“Angela?” His voice was weak and he was fading fast, she must've hit something important.
Like my lungs and stomach? He thought to himself as he coughed up blood. Yup, that’ll do the trick.
“Jack!” She screamed frantically. His breathing became shortened and his movements were slow, “I am so sorry, I-I didn't know, I-I didn't mean to..” She trailed off as heavy sobs raked through her body. How could she have let this happen? How? All because of her stupid thoughts and feelings got in the way. How dare she let this happen. She had just gotten him back and for what? Just to lose him again. This was all her fault, and she would never forgive herself for this.
Jack tried to shush her and calm her down, which finally pulled her back into their reality. It finally struck her that he needed help.
“I can fix you up, I can heal you!” She exclaimed as she rapidly unzipped his jacket, only then did it dawn on her that she had left her staff somewhere out on the battlefield. Without her staff, she could do nothing. Tears raced down her face at an even faster rate.
Using all the energy he had, he reached up for her face. Unable to reach all the way, she helped him with the last couple inches.
“Angela?” His voice was now a whisper.
“Yes Jack?” Knowing that these would be his dying words kept her quite.
“Please... take care... of.... Peanut for me.... She was... all I had... all this time... I know... she’ll... love you.... And.. that you’ll love... her too...” He panted out.
Peanut? She questioned to herself.
The second she questioned who peanut was, a tiny furry head popped out from underneath his jacket. It’s tongue lolled out from it’s open mouth and it panted heavily. Mewing with great concern for her owner, she butted her head against his. Soldier wore a goofy silly smile as his other arm struggled to reach up and pet her.
“Be a good girl for Mercy... she already loves you....” He whispered before all life drained from his eyes. Peanut sniffed his face again as she realized that something was wrong. She licked his skin once more before starting a mewing fit. Panic flowed through her body as she tried to wake her father figure up. Only there was no use. In the middle of one of her cries, she looked over to find a blond girl crying heavily as well. With the thoughts that she was close to her father, she waddled over to her, mewing at her as comfort. Mercy looked down at the panicked little kitten Jack called Peanut.
Tears were more than blurring her vision as they also streamed down her face. Yet through them, she was able to see a little brown collar around her neck.
He was really serious about the kitten. She thought to herself.
Gingerly picking her up and cradling her in her arms, they began to calm each other down. Just the mere presence of something that was important to him made her feel just a little bit more better.
“You're safe now Peanut, you're safe.”
It was the dead of winter and the only sound in the house was the meowing of a very hungry cat.
“Ok ok okkk you goofy little Peanut.” Mercy said as she kneeled down to feed the not so little cat. She had grown an incredible amount since the incident. She was now the only constant in her life. Rubbing her back and scratching behind her ears made Peanut flop on to the ground on her side. Indeed she was getting old, but she was still the same loving kitten she had taken in 10 years ago.
Deciding that she had enough, she stood up on all fours and sauntered over to the couch. Above it was a frame with Jack’s 76 jacket folded neatly inside. Of course, Mercy had it mended and cleaned before hanging it, a symbol that he was always with her. Plus it gave Peanut something to stare at while she was gone at work. She meowed loudly up at the frame and sat down on the couch staring at it. She then began staring at it took. He definitely got one thing right.
They were getting along just fine.

Oooooookkkkkk. This took me way longer to write than intended because I added a stupid cat.
This is the original prompt that @imlostinatunnel gave me. And boy did I completely stray off the path
{So 76 has yet to join up with the new Overwatch and is still taking care of things in some war-torn part of the world. One of the Overwatch missions takes them to where he is operating, and he unknowingly stumbles upon a seperated Mercy in the middle of a fire fight who shoots him after mistaking him for whoever they are fighting, almost killing him.}
Hahahahahaaaaaa.... Yup almost nothing like it. Plus I know I was pretty weak on the whole Mercy76 side of things but hey, I tried. I became more focused on that stupid cat than anything else.
Anyways,
Y'all should be seeing an OC from me in another fandom very soon and I feel like I am the only person who is excited because, well to be quite frank, I don't know who else would. (except you @imlostinatunnel, you are the true MVP man and you know it all and her already). But I am pumped and hope that you guys like her.
I will also be straying into other fandoms to write fan fics and try to waddle out of my comfort zone of just writing Mercy76. So fandoms such as Miraculous, Steven Universe, VOLTRON (hint hint) and possibly Miss Kobiashi’s dragon maid or Tokyo Ghoul (probably the last two on my list)
I’m not going to hope for anything because hope makes my heart weaker but, I do hope that you guys end up liking what I have in store.
Again,
Criticism, comments, messages, always welcome.
My ask box, and now, my submission box is open too. Commission what you’d like through messaging (no charge at all, although there are things to consider that we will talk about)
I hope y'all enjoyed!
Sincerely,
~Starpiper3

What do you think Kamiizumi and Minette's life together is like after BS? I never found any fanfiction of them. Can you be the first?
I need to apologize a little--ideas for individual scenes weren’t hard, but the flow didn’t quite come. This will probably need to be continued at some point for a more definitive conclusion. But I didn’t want to leave you waiting, either. SO.
Tsubaki padded along the boat without ever once losing his footing in spite of the waves rocking it. For a cat to lack such grace would be unthinkable. He had a few years tipping his whiskers, but he still had pride--and besides that, two masters who would be dismayed were he to start showing age.
Master Kamiizumi gave his head a light scratching when he walked by, callused fingers reaching behind his ears, and Tsubaki purred his satisfaction. Though the swordmaster was steering the boat, the man was always observant and well capable of double tasking for important matters.
His other master, Minette Napkatti, sat only a foot away, humming happily as she awaited a bite on the fishing pole. Or at least she was humming, until her head tilted toward Tsubaki's purr. Then she glanced his direction and saw how his tail was swishing in lazy delight, head pressed into Master Kamiizumi's grasp.
Tsubaki knew well what would happen next, but he still could not resist creasing his eyes shut and letting out an exceptionally loud purr.
"Kameowzumi," Minette all but cried. "Don't leave me-out!"
The swordmaster chuckled. "I have only two hands, Minette," he said, and of course, between petting a cat and steering a boat carrying the three of them, steering the boat won out (narrowly). So Tsubaki accepted it when Master Kamiizumi stopped scratching him to pat Minette's head. He stopped paying them any mind at all, instead nonchalantly cleaning his leg as some seawater had sprayed onto his paw. He wasn't going to get jealous with a kitten, after all. Oh, Minette did know her way with cats enough to be one herself, and she might be bigger than him, but Tsubaki knew that she wasn't full-grown by human standards. Still a kitten. A kitten that squeaked with delight to be given attention. He wouldn't begrudge her it.
That didn't mean he wouldn't claim whatever attention Kamiizumi had left over, though, and soon enough the swordmaster found himself pinned in his seat between the matter of steering the boat, patting Minette's head as she purred, and having Tsubaki climb into his lap and lazily stretch out over both of the man's thighs. Tsubaki let himself melt into the warmth, turning his chest and belly toward Kamiizumi and the rays of the sun. Here, the sea salt spray would barely bother him. Ah... paradise.
"...I will need to move at some point, Tsubaki."
"Yes," Tsubaki answered, knowing Kamiizumi didn't understand the feline tongue. His master's only shortcoming. "And until then, I'm going to sleep."
Minette's purring was interrupted for a moment as she giggled.
That day, and many others like it, were good days. Kamiizumi now had more time to spend fishing on the water, rather than darting this way and that after his human companions, and Minette was a more skilled fisher than he--as any cat should be, really. She caught fish for herself and Tsubaki quite easily, and Kamiizumi managed to get his own dinner. Once they were done for the day, they would meet up with Bismarck a little ways off from the dock and ensure that the big cat had caught enough food to fill his belly too. Then, they all set off for the cabin Kamiizumi called his own.
"It's so small!" Minette had said the first time she saw it, and it truly was. Tsubaki did not mind the size when there were rafters to climb and windows to slip out for a while, but he had seen many other human residences and knew it was small by comparison.
"A man should have no less than what he needs, and no more than what he can care for," Kamiizumi explained as he removed his shoes, gesturing for Minette to do the same. Tsubaki lightly patted the dust of the road off his paws at the entryway, then licked them to make sure they were clean. "I need very little, and I am frequently away, so a small house suits me fine." The swordmaster stepped over to the nearest window, opening it to let the sunlight in; Tsubaki could see the specks of dust swirl at the motion.
A moment later, the cat sneezed. Yes... he imagined the stale air would be even worse in a large house, what with his master's frequent travels.
"It's just, Bismarck won't find it easy to catnap in here," Minette said with a little worry, puffing out her cheeks. Then her eyes widened to alarm, and Tsubaki's tail went stiff at the pitch her voice reached. "When mew travel, will mew leave Minette here?! Please take Minette with!"
Kamiizumi looked from the window to her with a small frown, but thankfully, his tone stayed calm and steadying, letting Tsubaki relax. "Of course I would let you come with me, Minette. But you know I do travel at times. After all, that was how we first met."
"Minette...remembers," the girl said, her eyes casting down to the ground at the reminder. The first meeting was no longer a proud moment for her. She swayed on her feet with an awkwardness ill-befitting a cat, and Tsubaki rubbed himself against her legs to get her attention.
"Enough of that," he told Minette firmly. "We're not strays anymore." He rubbed his cheek against her again to emphasize that point. She was his kitten now, just as he was her servant.
She smiled. "Thank mew, Tsubaki. I'm sorry."
"There is no need to apologize," Kamiizumi said. "I know...as does Tsubaki...it can be hard to trust again sometimes. I would not abandon you, Minette. I have no expectation of needing to travel soon, now that Luxendarc has found peace, but should the occasion arise, I would be glad to have you by my side on the road. As for Bismarck, the nights are still warm at this time of year, and I shall get started on a shelter for him immediately. He will not have to sleep in the cold."
Bismarck roared dully from outside. Tsubaki snickered a little. The big cat was a little hard to understand with his rumbling calls, but it wasn't hard to tell that anyone would be grateful for shelter.
That time was not the last time Minette worried. Kamiizumi could not dine solely on fish--and frankly, neither could Minette, even if she tried to insist she could. Tsubaki did not exactly consider this a bad point of humans when it meant more fish for him, but it did necessitate that Kamiizumi make trips to the nearby village to trade fish and pg for other food. Minette went with him the first time, and it was no secret to Tsubaki that she was only going to stay near Kamiizumi instead of wanting to actually see the small town; her paws dragged as they approached.
People did not know what to make of a kitten that was both girl and cat. Oh, they found her feline garb appealing (as they should), but as soon as conversations started, there was confusion at how she spoke, bemusement at the meows interspersing her human speech. And from some, derision, and then outright laughter. Minette grew tense with anger, her hands shaking even as her voice broke, and Tsubaki knew she was on the verge of ordering him to attack and unsheathing her own claws. He was ready for it, too, spitting and yowling with his fur stood up to warn the brats just what a mistake they were making. It would be better if they backed off before it came to a fight, but he wasn't opposed to raking their smug faces with his claws.
Kamiizumi called them off with a voice as sharp as his blade before they could have the satisfaction. It made for a strained trip back to the cabin, and Minette had refused to go back to the village since. Kamiizumi had let the matter go for about a week or so, but following that he had tried to persuade her to come with once more.
"A lion does not flinch from a hyena's laugh."
"Minette's not a lion," the girl grumbled, keeping to the perch she'd found in the rafters, where the beams were strong enough to support her. "Bismarck's bigger."
Kamiizumi sighed from below, still preparing himself for the road. "You are a capable young woman, Minette. Do not let the small-minded bother you, when you could find others who do appreciate you."
Tsubaki caught Minette's dark look from where he sat to watch all, his own corner of the rafters. Her unhappy eyes said it all: people could be unpredictable, more trouble than they were worth. He opened his mouth in a faint meow of sympathy. Most people were entirely too much trouble. There were some good ones, and he had been lucky enough to find a few of them. But it was still nice to be able to hide and watch and be alone when he so desired.
Privately he thought Kamiizumi must understand that sentiment somewhat, to live the way he did. But the man was persistent. "One who does not wish to be alone must learn how to exist with others."
"Minette's not alone anymore," the girl protested, kicking out and swinging her legs. Master Kamiizumi caught one foot as he passed underneath, looking at her seriously with his dark eyes.
"Minette. Come down from there."
Tsubaki looked away when he saw Minette puffing up and began to slink off; this wasn't an argument that concerned him. And he knew it would be an argument; even if he wasn't looking, he could hear Minette standing up on the rafter, carefully but quickly, so that Master Kamiizumi couldn't touch her. Claiming every inch of high ground that she could. Not that the man would have used force, but no self-respecting cat let someone touch them when they didn't wish for it, and she obviously did not right now. Tsubaki slipped out of the window, letting them hash it out for themselves.
He was unsurprised to see Master Kamiizumi leave the house alone. The cat trailed after the swordmaster through the tree branches for a moment, gauging the harsh but weary look on the man's face, before he neatly jumped down onto the man's shoulder. The swordmaster, to his credit, did not jump. Tsubaki had gotten him quite used to this as a matter of routine. Going with Kamiizumi meant leaving Minette alone for the same time, but the girl had Bismarck for company, and... well, he did not like seeing either of his masters unhappy.
Kamiizumi let the cat ride on his shoulder, scratching his head gratefully. "She has so little trust in people that I worry about breaking her faith in me... I see once more why my old friend had so much trouble disciplining a few of his own. But she needs to learn."
Tsubaki mewed cautious agreement. Minette was both a cat and a girl; she probably should know some things of humans. But being a cat himself, he didn't have the first clue of what humans did that was important, let alone any inclination to learn for himself. It would be up to Kamiizumi to figure that one out.

Royals: Battle Scene
It was dark, and there was tension in the air. There were two people standing in an alley. No one was around and they were both left on their own. On the left there was a girl, with sunset hair. Purple on the top and tipped with dark crimson. She had hazel eyes but you could swear it glowed red for a moment. On the right was a man. He had white hair and green eyes, almost enough to charm someone into surrender. But not with her. Not again.
The man chuckled. “Well, well, if it isn’t the little kitten Dysphoria Queen. Long time no see Liz.” He smirked. The girl hissed. She squinted her eyes and focused on him more. She stood in front of him, about ten feet away.
“I see you haven’t changed much, Emerald.” She glared at him from head to toe. “What happened to you? Luxury life too much for you? Or were you too pathetic enough that your own family kicked you out.” She hissed.
“That’s a lot coming from you. Last I checked you were a runaway. Nothing more than a street rat until the Royals found you and trained you. Speaking of the Royals, what’s with the eyes? I didn’t think you could become more of a freak than you already were. All that bullshit about voices and demons.” He leaned up against a wall. His eyes gleamed in the dark, almost sinister like.
Dysphoria sighed and got closer to him. “Well...let’s just say the voices became real..and they took control. And it’s Ria, by the way.” She smirked as her eyes flashed a dark purple. The boy jumped a little in fright. “What’s wrong, Emerald? Still too much of a freak for you to love? Just like before?” She grabbed her knife and pressed her finger against the tip. Not too hard so it wouldn’t bleed. There was a tone of anger in her voice as she looked at him.
The boy growled. “Stop calling me that!” He yelled. He clenched his hands together as a green flame burst from them. Ria stepped back a little in surprise. He held up his flaming fist and chuckled. “You’re not the only one with tricks up their sleeve. The Royals may have took you in and trained you, but I’ll have you know I was trained by them too. They kicked me out. Said I was no good and that I would only bring them down. So I left. Went off on my own until I found someone who was willing to see what I had. And I did. The Akuma. They trained me for a year. Harnessed my abilities and brought me greatness. I owed them everything...until you and your stupid friends came and destroyed it all!” His eyes glowed a bit brighter, still shimmering green and you could swear you could see a flame in them.
Ria stepped back more and armed her weapon. “We had to do it, Dean. The Akuma would have taken over everything and destroyed everyone. There would have been nothing left anyway. If this is about what happened with your sister then I’m sorry. I wish we could have saved her but it was too late!”
“Don’t you dare bring Bella into this. She would’ve been fine on her own. Fine with me. But because of you and your stupid little pack, she’s dead. If you never introduced any of that bullshit to Bella she would have never died! You turned my sister against me! Don’t think I don’t know how or why she died. She died casting that spell over the Akuma that split them apart.”
“We tried to stop her from doing it. I mentioned the spell a long time ago I didn’t think she knew what it was or what it was for. When she started it we knew she would be too weak to finish it but she did it anyway. The spell drained all of her energy and she used her own life energy to sustain it. It took all of it. We couldn’t save her...I’m sorry, Dean…”
Dean calmed down a little and walked towards Ria. He turned his back on her. She hesitated slightly, she knew better than to trust him, but she played along anyway. She didn’t move, she just watched him. Dean thought to himself for a minute. “Is that how it is..hm..maybe I’ve been wrong all this time...maybe instead of the Royals to blame, I should blame you instead.” He turned to face her as he shot a flame at her. Ria dodged it and quickly moved aside.
Ria’s voices thought to herself. ‘Congratulations. You’ve fucked up, yet again!’. She told herself to shut up as she quickly climbed onto the rooftop using the ladder on the side of the building. She ran across it, hoping to get as much distance from Dean as possible. Unfortunately, it did not last for very long. Dean somehow appeared in front of her and punched her. She fell down and groaned. Blood fell out of her mouth as she laid in pain. “How the fuck did you do that?” She stood up and wiped the blood off her face.
“You may have been trained by magicians and demigods, but I was trained by demons. They gave me powers over myself I could never do before! You should join us, Ria. Maybe you’ll learn more than your petty little-” He stopped suddenly, as Ria cast a spell on him, and threw him on the wall of the next building.
She walked over to the edge and looked over onto the next alley. “You talk too much.” Dean growled and rushed over to the rooftop once again. He lit his fists on fire and threw a punch at her. She dodged again and grabbed his leg, pulling him to the ground. She pinned him down and grabbed her knife. She stabbed him in the gut before getting kicked off him. He began bleeding as he put a hand on the wound. She raised her arm up and a symbol appeared in front of her hand. Crimson crystals shot out of it. She formed a wall around the two of them so he couldn’t escape.
Dean tackled her to the ground as she attempted to push him up against the rough crystals. She failed, and Dean threw her against the other wall. She yelped and fell onto the ground. He walked over to her and she shot crystals at his feet. He tripped and fell down. He got up but couldn’t move any further. He kneeled down and tried melting the crystals, since Ria was too weak to stand. One of the crystals on Dean’s foot broke as he continued to melt it. Ria regained her strength, but just barely. She muttered the word “Katapino”, an ancient Greek spell that engulfed Dean in a crystal. Leaving him as a crystalized statue. He wasn’t dead, just dormant. She wasn’t sure if he could wake up from it or not, breaking the crystal and attacking her, but what else could she do? She sighed and cast a levitation spell on the now crystalized Dean. She summoned a dragon using one of her magic charms and placed Dean on the side. She climbed on the dragon and flew off. She was planning on taking him to one of the safehouses in the woods, seeing as she wouldn’t endanger her friends and anyone else. She flew up above the clouds for quite a while, it was cold and the moonlight illuminated the shadow of the dragon on the clouds. She didn’t notice that the crystal had started cracking. She heard it crack a second time as she looked at it. She suddenly began flying faster. “Shit! If he wakes up out here we’re done for.” She dove down into the woods but it was too late. Dean had woken up and pushed her off the dragon.
“Can’t get rid of me that easily, Queen.” He chuckles. Ria screams as she falls towards the ground. Going too fast to think or react.
