Gummy Masks: Cherry - flavored gummies that resemble the traditional fox mask. When bitten into, you’d notice the jelly filling inside each gummy, leaving you with an almost cinnamon- like aftertaste in your mouth.

“Man, I worked hard on the candies this year, so you better enjoy it. Or..not, I can’t really control your preferences.”

White Chocolate Tails: Nuggets of White Chocolate shaped into fox tails. The chocolate has a milky, soft texture that almost melts in your mouth, and you can tell that there was plenty of blood, sweat and tears put into each piece.

“I bought these sweets from the best confectionery I could find in Nakano, so I do hope you enjoy these thoroughly. May you have a happy Halloween!”

Red Bean Wagashi : A traditional wagashi with a red bean paste filling. The mild flavor mixed with the soft , sweet outside layer of the treat make it perfect for those who aren’t all that adamant of overly sweet things.

To a Festival on a Summer Evening (夏の宵に縁日へ) Alt. Stream

Rei: Hyottoko mask. A mask of a male character, as opposed to the female otafuku. The character plays the role of a clown (fitting for a member of DH). Apparently named as such because the mouth looks like it’s breathing fire.

Ichiro: Kitsune mask. Kitsune have various connotations in Japan, but outside the festival setting, this one’s a bit of an odd choice, since Sasara has more fox connotations than Ichiro (Sasara has what are called kitsune no me).

Ramuda: Rabbit mask. A pretty uncommon type of mask, in comparison to the kitsune, hyottoko and otafuku masks. Also cute, childish and pink to go with his colour scheme. (Update: Also harmless-seeming, as well as going with his "pyon pyon pyon!" - most notably from Drops - and his calling of "Usa-pyon" to Jyuto.)

At first, I thought Rei's was the only mask of particular note (particularly because Rei's speaker has a phoenix, which is represented by fire), but there are also some interesting connotations with Ichiro's kitsune mask - some kitsune can breathe fire, there is the concept of kitsunebi (fox fire) and some festivals have special fires.

The toffee apple in Ramuda's hand also has a fire element - through the melted sugar which comprises the toffee - and...well, it's red.

BB's theme colour is red and red is usually the colour used to represent fire (see: the ancient Chinese 5 element theory behind Saburo's 3rd solo). Also, red and yellow - BB and FP's theme colours respectively - make orange, or DH's theme colour.

On top of that, within ARB, all 3 of these characters were present during the fireworks event which is featured during this Alt. Stream (across both parts) and in the manga, Ramuda's senpai of sorts is called Hanabi. (Although the kanji used for Hanabi's name are roughly "flower light/lamp" - the second character of which can be read tomoshibi in other contexts, like the MTR song - the usual kanji for "fireworks" literally translates to "flower fire".)

(Sidenote: In terms of words, the word meaning "festival" (縁日) includes the character 縁 (enishi), which is the name of a DH song. Indeed, this kanji combo is read ennichi.)

(Then again, this fanart reminded me Hitoya also has fox associations, since he was possessed by the nine tailed fox in one of the soul swaps...)

Kiana smiled as she woke up with Mei in her arms. The white-haired goddess hummed as she waited for her beautiful girlfriend to wake up. Kiana frowned as Mei stayed asleep, and she got up and went to the bathroom. She came out and started to cook. Kiana was planning on proposing to Mei, and she hoped the girl would say yes. Kiana started to cook, and she went upstairs to greet Mei with breakfast in bed. Mei woke up, and she smiled as Kiana set the tray of food on her lap. "Happy anniversary, my love!" Kiana happily hummed.

"Thank you, Kiana!" Kiana frowned and shook her head.

"I'm going to take you out on a date later tonight! So make sure you look your best!" Kiana stripped her pajamas and put on daily wear. "I'll be going to prepare our best date ever." Kiana spoke happily. Mei smiled, and she nodded.

"Elysia said she wanted to learn to cook more." Mei hummed. Kiana froze, and she shook her head.

"That's fine! I know Mei-senpai won't ever cheat!" Kiana exclaimed. Mei froze, and she nodded quickly.

"Of course!" With that, Kiana ran out of the house. She almost forgot her keys, and she ran back in and grabbed them and her phone. Kiana sighed as she remembered that Mei had been distant. Which is why Kiana was going to make sure that they had the best date ever. She smiled as she got on the train. She braided her hair as she waited, and the train stopped. Kiana started to shop for rings, and she found a spot in the park for a picnic.

"This would be the perfect spot to propose to Mei-senpai." Kiana yelped as she bumped into someone. She saw a head of brown hair, and she apologized. The girl whined, and Kiana helped her up.

"Do you humans not watch your surroundings?" The girl hissed. Kiana figured she wasn't human by her slitted eyes.

"I'm sorry!" Kiana bowed.

"It's fine. I'm trying to find a meat shop." Kiana nodded and pointed the way. The girl ran after thanking the white-haired girl. Kiana started to shop for clothes and she saw a dress. The streets were filled with humans, elves, kitsunes, Nekos, demons, and inus. "I wonder what that girl was. She was pretty, and she seemed to avoid humans."

"Did you hear? The Dragon of the Nightmares has a cave nearby. Apparently, she's looking for a home."

"Dragon?" Kiana asked the elf. She nodded.

"It's rare for a dragon hybrid to come into large populous areas. So when one comes, especially one as powerful as the Nightmare dragon to come to our city. Poor thing's hometown was burned by the undead. She was considered their goddess since she protected it." Kiana frowned, and she knew what it was like.

"Anyway, what brings the Queen of Void to our establishment?"

"Ah! I'm buying this dress." Kiana paid for the dress. The elf happily took the money, and Kiana smiled. "I want to put it on to see how it looks."

"There's a dressing room over there." The elf pointed. Kiana nodded and ran to the dressing room. She changed, and she smiled at herself in the mirror. She came out, and the elf smiled. "Your significant other is very lucky to have you. You're stunning to look at.aaa" The elf hummed. She picked out a pair of white heeled boots. "You're our 1,000th customer. I wanted to see what you would like with the dress before I picked out a free pair of heels."

"Ah! No need, I can pay for it!"

"I insist!" The elf replied. She wasn't taking no for an answer.

"Can I at least pay half the price?" Kiana asked.

"A third of the price." The elf sighed. Kiana paid the elf, and she smirked. "I should do your hair. I'm now on break!" Kiana yelped as the elf dragged her down the hallway.

"Thank you." Kiana bowed. She looked at the time and smiled. The elf smiled at her. "Here. I don't think you get paid enough." The elf yelped as Kiana shoved a bag of heavy metal. "I have no use for them. I can make more of them. Use them for a crown or sell them." Kiana hummed as she left. The elf stared open mouthed at the gold metal in her hand. These were void metal and were really rare. Especially since elves used to use them for crafting jewelry. The elf watched the goddess running away, and she smiled softly. Kiana ran towards her house, and she was ready to take Mei out. She saw Elysia's car, and she frowned. It was four in the afternoon. Kiana shrugged, and she stopped at the door. She had a bad feeling and she frowned. Kiana unlocked the door, and she saw Elysia's shoes. Kiana felt dizzy and sluggish as she didn't smell burnt cooking. She didn't smell anything. So why was Elysia still here? Was she helping Mei get ready? Kiana walked up the stairs, and her heart clenched at the sounds coming from her room. Kiana walked slowly, and she opened the door. Her eyes widened, and her heart shattered at the sight. "Mei-senpai?" Kiana's voice broke. Tears streamed down her cheeks. Mei and Elysia ripped apart.

"Kiana!?" Mei's eyes widened. "It's not what it looks like!"

"How long?" Kiana clenched her fists.

"It was an accident."

"Don't lie to me!"

"Dear Mei, we've been fucking for months." Kiana backed up and she ran out the house. Mei saw the box fall and she opened it. Mei gasped and she frowned.

"Stupid Mei!" Kiana kept running as the tears fell. It started to rain and Kiana ducked inside a cave. She started to sob and she soon heard a menacing snarl.

The petite female was visibly in shock, hazel orbs opened wide as she held her friend's wedding invitation in both hands.

"You're getting MARRIED to Ruki-senpai!?"

Of course, marriage was something Sharon had always looked up to. Ever since she was a little girl, it had been her dream to one day be able to walk down the aisle in a beautiful, sheer white dress.

While that day may still be far away for herself, she was absolutely thrilled by the idea of her friend getting to live that dream.

"I'm so happy for you! The wedding is going to be ab-so-lute-ly perfect! I'm sure of it! ...Have you picked out your dress yet? What about the rings? The bouquet? Ah, I'm sorry. Too many questions? I'm just so excited!"

Smiling widely while slight heat climbed on her cheeks, Yuriko nodded in answer to Sharon's question.

"Umh... Yes, it is true! Ruki... He proposed to me on New Year's Eve. And we are getting married a day before his birthday. Quite amazing, right? A year ago, I couldn't imagine that this would happen!"

Yuriko couldn't help but beam. She was going to marry the love of her life and would get to celebrate that together with her friends. Since Yuriko had known Sharon longer than any other of them, the kitsune girl was delighted that she was willing to attend the reception party.

"Thank you so much, Sharon-chan~ Ruki and I will do our very best so that everything will be perfect."

The dress! Oh my...

"Yes... well, actually... I have two dresses." Yuriko mumbled but couldn't hide her smile. "A traditional kimono for the ceremony and then another dress for the reception. The latter is designed by my brother's wife. You'll see it then~"

As Sharon kept asking questions, Yuriko giggled. She covered her mouth with her hand but nodded.

"Yes. We have picked up the rings and bouquet already. And Ruki has made the menu. He was very serious about it."

Clapping her hands together, Yuriko shook her head.

"Hehe, not too many questions~ I'm so excited too! I can't wait to marry Ruki! And... and... It will be so much fun to celebrate with everyone. So, you will come, right? What will you wear? Ahh, I want to see you in a lovely dress. I bet you'll look amazing!"

A Kitsune Story: Mind your Business

“Haru!”, I glanced up from my phone as I saw my girlfriend rushing towards me. I gave her a warm smile as she kissed me on the cheek and interlaced our fingers together. “Hey, how were classes?” I asked starting to walk to the lunch room with her “eh, some old same old, Dr. Nakamura is staying on my ass with my Kinesiology work but he’s just being dramatic” she said. I chuckled, “he just cares about your grades, he’s a great Bio teacher” I said “yeah cause you're one of his favs” she teased “what!? No I’m not, he doesn’t have favorites” I said. “Oh yes he does, he likes the first years because they haven't hit the delinquent phase of the second and third years” she said. 

“I doubt it, maybe you just need some food. You look pale and you’re not yourself when you're hungry” I said, poking her stomach. She whined and smirked down at me, she grabbed me by my waist, “you know what else I can eat that could satisfy both of us?” she asked. I knew where her mind was and it only resulted in me flicking her forehead, “pervert! Keep acting like that and we’re going celibate” I said. “WE?!” she exclaimed. I ignored her irritation and headed to the lunch room as she followed me.

The room was half filled with students and a bunch of employees taking orders and bringing out food. The first and second years share lunch periods so we usually eat together with Yuki, our fellow libero and Akanes best friend, Yuki is known to be as an inspirational mentor on the court and Ms. Matchmaker. If it wasn’t for her constant encouragement with Akane, me and her wouldn’t be together right now. Akane is now even more indebted to her because of it and I’m also grateful for her help. 

The table we usually take was towards the back of the room, we found nothing but Yuki's bag at one of the chairs and a note on the table. “Dear Love birds, I got our table and the yogurt smoothie I had this morning got me. I shall be in the washroom for a good while so just eat and if I’m not back in twenty minutes…please help”. We both let out a sigh, “you order your food, I’ll go check on her and text you if I need backup” she said. I laughed, “alright, good luck” I said, taking the menu as she placed a kiss on my head and rushed to the washrooms. 

“We told her to stop taking in yogurt, it’s bad for your stomach, but noooo, she had to listen to the internet” I said to myself as I scanned today's specials. As I decided on my meal, I felt a presence next to me, “that was fast, is she alr-” I was cut off as I saw who I was speaking to. It wasn’t Akane. “Han-chan! Hey, how have you been?” Kiyomi, one of my classmates, had sat next to me “oh hey, I’ve been fine” I said “that’s good, I saw you walk in with Kubo-senpai. Hand in hand being all lovey-dovey” she said with an innocent smile. Here it goes, I’m no stranger to the underlying passive-aggressive homophobia the girls at the school give to us, more me, no one's gonna approach Akane and critique her on her relationships without a black eye later on.

I’m more on the passive side so people do take the opportunity to express their unwanted opinions on my life. Kiyomi is one of the main people who likes to express it but it’s starting to get…irritating. “Um yes, we are in a relationship. A lot of people know” I said, trying to be mature about what’s going on right now. “Right, but don’t you think it’s a little…weird with Lu-senpai?” she asked. My expression dropped slightly, “you mean Yuki? Why would it be weird?” I asked “I mean, I thought that it was a three way thing?” she said “three-way? N-no, me and Akane are exclusive” I said “oh! I’m so so sorry! I just figured with the amount of time they’ve spent together and they were that classic duo before you got here, maybe something would happen” she said. 

My stomach dropped, what is she saying? Akane and Yuki? “I don’t want to alarm you, but they spend so much time together, they have so many classes together knowing that they’re both second years, even last year they were so close…it really makes you wonder” she said. No…Akane wouldn’t…she wouldn’t…Yuki-san isnt even into girls…right? “But hey, maybe it’s for the best, aren’t relationships like that a little complicated in China? Your parents didn’t send you here to…dishonor them, right?” she asked. 

“Did your parents send you here to skip class?”

We both jumped and turned to see Amami-senpai hovering over Kiyomi, “Gah! Amami-senpai? What are you doing here?” she asked standing quickly from her chair “I would ask you the same thing, your lunch period isn’t for another two hours, aren’t you supposed to be in class?” she asked “u-um…yes but-” she got cut off almost immediately “then you shouldn’t be here, I know I might not be your classes vice-president but I’m still one and I can write you up for it. So I’ll give you a chance and let you go with just a late slip” she said, giving her a smile that could cut air. 

Kiyomi cleared her throat before bowing to her and rushed out the room. A small smile appeared on my face but it wasn’t enough to stop the breakdown I was about to have, Amami-senpai sat next to me and let out a sigh of annoyance, “jesus it’s not hard to just go to class, I can;t stand first years…except you” she said said smiling at me. I gave her a smile back, “thanks…um…Amami-senpai, isn’t your lunch also in two hours?” I asked “I have free period right now, and I wanted a milkshake, are the other two around here or are they causing trouble? Cause we have a game soon and coach needs both of them on the court” she said. 

“Ah no, Yuki’s in the washroom and Akane is there to…help her, she had yogurt” I said “oh god, if they’re not doing anything illegal then I don’t care, I swear those two are partners in crime and I’m tired of dealing with their bullshit” she said. I nodded, the things Kiyomi had said came flooding back and my mood had dropped once again, it also seems like I can’t keep it to myself either. “What’s wrong?” she asked “huh? Oh nothing it’s just…an odd day you know” I said messing with the ends of my blazer sleeve. She gave me a curious look, “I don’t buy it, you’re not an angry person, and when you are upset it shows. Did that girl say something to you?” she asked. 

I let out a sigh of defeat, Amami-senpai is a very observant person and when she found something off she wasn’t going to let it go until she solved the problem. I might as well, maybe I can get the answers I need. 

“Alright, just a question, had Lu-senpai ever been with a girl before?” I asked, her facial expressions dropped from curiosity to shock, “Yuki? With a girl? Never in a million years” she said. A sigh of relief had left me, a weight was lifted off my shoulders knowing that there wouldn’t be a chance. “Why?” she asked “why? Oh! Um…I was just thinking…Kiyomi-san said that her and Akane were pretty close and there might be a chance that they wou-” I was cut off, “stop talking” she said. “Huh?” I asked, “did this girl really try to convince you that Akane and Yuki would get together?” she asked. I blushed a bit, “well…I guess so” I said “did she say anything else to you?” she asked “nothing too bad, just stuff about my parents and stuff” I said “oh this bitch, I’m definitely getting on her ass now” she said. 

“Listen Haru, some people have to mind their own business. I know that we both hear the shit that people say about you and Akane and it’s sickening to say the least. If I could stop it all myself I would because you both don’t deserve that, and you should never think that you’re letting your parents down because of your actions, especially when you’re happy. AND, Akane and Yuki are not getting together. They’ve been friends forever but they’d rather go through the seven circles of hell then date each other, trust me” she said. 

“So don’t think about that stuff, keep your relationship the way it is and if anyone else wants to test the waters. Text me” she said. 

I gave her a sincere smile and took her hands into mine, “thank you Amami-san, you know people are wrong about you. You’re not scary or mean at all!” I said “yeah…wait, what?” she asked “nothing! Thank you for the advice, let me get you that milkshake you want” I said, having a cold sweat.

“Rise, have you noticed that Akanes spikes have been a lot more powerful?” Yukiko asked “uh yeah…it’s a long story but just now I handled it” Rise smiled proudly “ok? Well, I'm glad you’re helping the underclassmen. It’s not like you” she said “yeah…also, have you heard anything about me being cold or mean?” Rise asked. 

Yukiko froze a bit and glanced at her, “um…no why?” she asked “because I heard it and you paused as well, do you have something to tell me?” she asked “nope! I need to go help Makoto with something, I’ll see you later!”. That was the first time Rise ever saw Yukiko run that fast and that day was the day Rise made Haru her personal inside man.

I've been pretty busy getting acquainted with my Dynasty, The Wei Dynasty, of Ancient China. I was the Prince, to Emperor, now to Archemperor of the Wei. I do know the Olympians. I'm from Mount Olympus and Panem. I'm the Prince of Zeus. I'm the leader of the Water Clan, as The Gods, Goddesses, and Deities have been placed into their Elements (there are 12 in total). Zeus is my half brother. I'm the son of Tartarus and Rhea. Got a job as an Analyst. Doctorate from CSUF (Go TITANS!~) in Biochemistry. Created the innovation of Blood Tablets. The idea is you take one's blood to make personalized medication in which using the theory of the cells to not attacking the medication because the pill, I mean tablet, would be infused with ones blood and it would be analyzed through a computer and a team full of knowledgeable doctors and analysts. He lets her walk up him and place a paw against his nose, but before she can make a clean getaway, he grabs her by the scruff and hefts her up off him. There's no malice in his visage or actions, but the look on his face should tell her that she's made a terrible mistake.

If I do recall my muse's lore, Hana became a kitsune partially due to her being from the Hono clan-- a clan who very much respects their god.

And considering that, I might make Kitsu a Hono as well-- with their familial bond being less of sister or aunt/niece and more or less just cousins. Related by clan name, but their blood connection going too far into the family tree to be closely related.

And in terms of ship dynamic? That will be more or less a aunt/niece kind of relationship if not a senpai/kouhai ship.
